Bring some bug spray and some snacks. Shower stuff. Swimsuit. A towel. Shorts, tshirts, and a pair of jeans and a warm sweatshirt. A flashlight is always a good idea.

Your teachers will probably give you a checklist before you go, actually.

They'll probably feed you in the mess hall, so it's not like you need to bring your own provisions, but if you can, you should probably bring some snacks. They're good for hanging out with people at night in the cabins after the canteen is closed.

On that note, you might want to bring a little spending money. Camps often have a canteen/giftshop/supplystore where you can buy things you might have forgotten. Or snacks. Or a camp logo tshirt, if you're into that sort of thing.

Also, bring a deck of cards with you as well as a notebook. That way you can have a lot of fun staying up till late playing war or some other game with your friends. If you bring a notebook, a pencil, and a pen, you have a way to jot down anything that comes to mind and if you like to draw, you can also use it to draw with too.

If you are a girl, do not bring perfume as that will make the bugs eat you alive, but make sure you have deodorant. Also, I remember when I was younger, I spilled syrup all over my one pair of pants and I had to wear that the rest of the week, so always bring a pair of sweats, and extra socks and other clothes. Be prepared. Bring band aids and hand wipes as well.

Other than that, wear sneakers, bring an extra pair, an extra blanket besides your sleeping bag as it may get too cold or be to hot to have just the sleeping bag. Use a pillow case you like, but do not mind to get dirty as it will get dirty.

If you sleep in a tent, make sure you take off your shoes and not wear them in the tent, and do not leave the shoes outside because someone may pull a prank on you and take your shoes or put something in them.

Put your name on everything you bring. That way no one can take it and if they do, you can get it back.

Also, if you sleep in a tent, always keep the screen or tent flap closed, otherwise you will have a lot of visitors flying around. Same goes for a cabin, keep the door closed.

Avoid touching random plants as it could be poisonous ivy, etc. Other than that....I think that is about it. Though the biggest advice I can give you, HAVE FUN!

I hope that helped. ^^

If they don't give you a checklist, they aren't the brightest bulbs in the box, now are they?

Sorry. Now, I would definitely bring extra clothes (but not a whole lot) because if your camp is anything like mine, then you will get wet. Without changing into a swimming suit. And it also depends on where you're going to be. The motto "Prepare for the worst" is always good to go by. Don't rely on the fact that you should be staying in a cabin - make it seem like you're gonna sleep in a tent.

Everyone else who's replied has stated the main stuff, but I would recommend a rain poncho. Alot of times it'll rain, and pretty much no one thought about that, even though it was on the checklist. Those poor people (suckers) ended up wearing a garbage bag or going wet. Deodorant is good, as is sunscreen and bug spray. Cards are good too, and any possible extras you can bring - I tend to get bored easily, so I brought all my writing and drawing stuff with me, if I had room. But that may not apply to you.

So I hope I helped. :) Have fun at camp!

Well since all the basics have been suggested I would like to add taking a disposable camera with you. I say disposable since they take pretty good pictures and if it gets lost or stolen you aren't out hundreds of dollars like you would be with a fancy digital camera. I think having pictures of my friends is one of the best things to bring back from camp.
