Art Cloud Fetish.

For some odd reason, I've been having some sort of strange cloud-obsession as of late.

And no, not the character Cloud.

Clouds. In the sky. Yes. I have no idea why.

I've been photographing them. Watching them. Making pieces featuring them.

And it's becoming irksome.

So anyways. I figured I might as well get some feedback on some new stuff. And I'll keep the cloud stuff to an absolute minimum.

This one is, as the name states, a work-in-progress. I really had no vision with this, I just got bored and started throwing random things together. Dunno if I like it or not. Got any suggestions for it?

Hello :P Long time no see.

Very nice as always and I guess i'm the first to comment

[B]Clouds01[/B]: This piece makes me very happy when I see it. It is not overdone, but not underdone at the same time. It does not hurt the eye and is very catchy, it is very soft.
The Addition of Hypnotic Carefree fits quite well :P


[B] Unusual Rain[/B]: This is like the first one in the way I feel, but has a very interesting twist with the arrows. Very nice.

[B]ForgiveMe[/B]: The colors used in this are very nice and blend with eachother very well. The text is placed pretty good and is right for this image. It has a certain flow to it that makes it look very good. The, what looks like an eye, in the top corner is very nice and add to the overall effect and feel that you seemed to be going for.
The one problem I do have is with what I just commented on, it seems like at the bottom right of the "eye" it is blocky and a bit out of place. It could just be me :P
Overall this is very very nice and would get a 9.2/10, 10/10 if I could see right :P

[B]I Love Him[/B]: Interesting, but at the same time very nice. The stock is very nice. The "I" and bottom of the "L" should've been moved over a bit more, you can see the white around them and it looks out of place. But other than that very simple and very nice. I like the pattern on the guy and girl.

That, amazingly, was the best eye picture I could find for that bit.

I'm sure I could have found one that wasn't already cut in half had I tried at all, but meh. I just used the first one I found, out of laziness. My bad =/



Anywho. I was browsing through google, deviantart, and a multitude of other places for a modest, cute, model-ish looking girl for a website I'm designing. I've used Gemma Ward, Hilary Duff, and Ayumi Hamasaki far too much, I wanted someone unknown. Just one picture, that's it. But every single picture I found were slutty girls, gigantic-breasted girls, girls wearing skimply clothes, girls wearing no clothes, etc.

It reminded me of Retribution's 'THIS IS NOT BEAUTY' piece some time ago. So I was inspired.

[color=dimgray][b]Beauty[/b]- I like the pixles as a decoration and the idea you were going with on this piece. However, as fall as I can tell, you've used the pixels on three of your works already, so it can get a bit tiring. In addition, your text is a bit too plain and simple, and the white blood splatters don't match with the picture in any way.

But all of your graphics are clean and neat. I like vector art especially when it's done well, I think you could do some great things if you worked more on styling.

Also as an OT comment: is it just me for does [i]everyone[/i] use that picture under your works in progress? XD I think every graphics person has used it at least once. I have to admit that all of pictures from that game are pretty to use. :] [/color]

I thought the first one was great, but the text was a little plain (and sometimes plain can be good, but not there). But this revamped version is a lot cooler. I love the wind filter (or whatever it is) on the text and how Beauty is bigger and much more prominent. It also leaves more room for the pretty picture. :)

I can't think of anything to fix about it, really. Maybe a thicker inner-border.[/FONT][/COLOR]

Eh, I've been really trying to do alot of different things lately. My boyfriend is taking a bunch of graphic design/desktop pubishing/web design classes at his high school. Seeing as I homeschool, I never was able to take any of those classes. So basically it's me with PSP6&8, versus him [Brooklyn from OB] with PS CS2.

Yeah, we're basically in competition.

But he's still a noob, so I'm safe for now.

But anywho, I'd like some pointers on these next pieces, also works-in-progress.

They're basically the same, one I did a burn effect to and one I didn't. I did the majority of the clouds and such by hand.

On your Fly me away designs, I have some questions before I say anything else. Did you crop the picture of the girl into the background? And on the first one, did you use any filter effects or any other sort of enhancement?[/color]

[size=1]For your two "Fly Me Away" pieces, I have two recommendations.

[b][1][/b] I'd recommend toning down the contrast on these two pieces. I understand that high-contrast images are the cool thing nowdays, but it's so high that the colors are washing out and bleeding all over the place. That, and the amount of white in the sky (near the bottom) is a bit overwhelming.

[b][2][/b] Because the contrast is up so might, your text is sort of blending into the background and fading away. Also, consider a font and/or position that works more with the powerlines. As it is now, they're sort of dividing things up there.
