I find it hilarious what some people will do to support something they like. I just read this article the other day and I thought I should share it with you guys.

I know I've made obvious my support for nu metal acts like Slipknot in the past and I still do. This is just a funny article I found.
Jesse Truesdale of Bonner Springs, Kansas' The Chieftain reports that a note containing lyrics to the song "Surfacing" by SLIPKNOT was located near a grave that was found robbed Tuesday morning (August 15) at the Bonner Springs Cemetery.

Kenneth Brooks, sexton of the cemetery, was working at about 11 a.m. that day when he found evidence of a crime unique in his experience.

"The ground was turned up," Kenneth Brooks said, on the recently laid grave of Justin Manning.

Manning died July 25 in a car wreck on I-70 near the I-435 exit when the pickup truck he was riding in rammed a highway sign pole.

The container with the ashes that had been in the grave was taken.

Manning's mother, Angela Bickham, said, "I don't know what I think now. It's unbelievable ? it's beyond even being able to comprehend how someone can kidnap an urn."

Bickham said she didn't know who could have robbed the grave. There had been some trouble at Manning's funeral, where his friends wanted to bury a hat and some CDs with his urn.

Bickham said she didn't want to name those friends while the police investigation is ongoing.
So here's the question I'm preseting before you all. At what point do you believe people need to settle down in their devotion to music or movies or whatever. Becuase honestly, there are people who get a bit obsessed like Johnny Depp fans (no offense).

These are the kind of people that I hate above all others. I am not a big fan of Slipknot at all, however I respect them since my best friend loves 'em. However I'm sure they did not write their music in an attempt to inspire an urnknapping. lol

It's people like these kids who ruin things for everyone. It's the same with violent video games, only people with violent tendencies get like that when they play one of those games. There is supposedly some gene that is present in most people that commit major crimes that more innocent people do not have. I wonder if it's the same for people who get obsessive over something to the point that they have to commit acts of crime to 'support' a band.

And, who the hell takes an urn in the first place?

I totally read the lyrics to surfacing, and I was getting no 'exhume graves' vibe from it at all. Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe you are. Who knows.

I think there's a point where any fandom gets a bit nuts, but exhuming graves is way past that. Think Jupiter as the breaking point for fandom, and exhuming graves being out at Pluto. Yeah. I think you'd need some kind of mental illness to get to that point though (paranoid schitzophrenia, or ODD, or stupid-teenager), so I'd say this is a one off as far as Slipknot fans (or fans in general) go.
