Dagger
So yeah, the Mushishi anime/manga is being made into a live-action movie with direction provided by Katsuhiro Otomo (the guy behind Akira). This site has some new stills from the film, and you can read the Wikipedia article on the manga and anime here (which spares me from having to come up with a plot synopsis). Although I'm curious about this project, I really don't understand how they're going to make Mushishi into a coherent movie. It lends itself perfectly to the half-hour episode format because the original work is made up of stand-alone stories--and it looks as if the movie will adapt those stories instead of going off on its own path. I just don't get how they'll keep it from feeling totally disjointed. On the other hand, most of the characters look decent. ~Dagger~
