songsofsorrow
i was wondering how people make their ramen since there is now a cook book for 101 ways to cook ramen. and since my friend aceburner keeps on saying what great things you can do with ramen, and he can make and survive off of three main meals of ramen. i was wondering how you people make your own ramen meals i would also like to know your favorite flavor of ramen. mine, personally has to be creamy chicken and just as a show of hands (for you americans) how many of you drain or strain the water out of your ramen before you put the flavor packet in or on your ramen

visualkei
For all types of noodles including insant ramen, I like mine slightly crispy. I don't like soggy noodles, so once it's in hot water, I give it 30 seconds and dig in. =]
Marron347
I usually eat instant ramen after cooking it in the microwave. I break it up while it is still in the package, put it in a bowl, cover it with water, then put it in the microwave for three minutes. It never gets cooked all the way but that's how I like it. Sometimes I even eat it raw. :animesmil I actually have never eaten non-instant ramen. What is that like? Oh yeah, and my favorite flavor is teriaki.
Horendithas
I like to add things to my ramen. I usually get some small frozen shrimp and frozen mixed vegetables and while the ramen is boiling on the stove I also heat up the shrimp and frozen vegetables. Once both of them are ready I then mix them together. It makes a nice tasty dinner. Especially since ramen by itself is kind of boring. Sometimes just before the ramen is done I?ll add the heated shrimp and vegetables to it so they will pick up some of the flavor from the little flavor packets that come with the ramen. As for a favorite flavor, I like the chicken and beef flavored ones the best.
eleanor
I actually have never eaten non-instant ramen. What is that like?
Oh, man. Non-instant ramen is a thousand times better than instant ramen. The noodles are fresh and thick and the soup is amazing and you can put whatever the hell you want all over it. At some places you can see the chef make the noodles right there. Delish. But when I'm just at home I use the ramen that you have to cook. Microwave ramen is sort of bleh for me, since I'm used to non-instant. I usually pack my ramen with shrimp, tofu, dduk, and egg while it's boiling and then add some extra hot powder to make it spicier. Aaryanna
I?m like indifference, I like to add stuff to my ramen. We get several different types of mixed frozen veggies at the store but instead of shrimp my mom usually gets different meat like chicken or steak that she cuts into little pieces and then cooks them before adding them along with the veggies to the ramen. That?s only if it?s something we are having for dinner though. When I?m just having it as a snack I only add some of the frozen veggies. The one thing I don?t care for is the flavor packets since they are so salty. So I usually add the flavoring once everything is done, stir everything around for about a minute and then I drain all the excess water off. That way it?s lightly flavored without being too strong and salty. ^_^
Andy
Well, believe it or not, I don't really care how my ramen is fixed. Although I do tend to like the non-instant better than the instant. But, I like ramen either way, instant, non-instant, I like ramen either way. And I also like to add a little "somethin-somethin" to my ramen as well^^

But I preffer chicken. Sometimes I eat the leftover noodles in the package. Sweet and not to hard. Speaking of ramen I need some soon.
Raiyuu
songsofsorrow, please read the Rules and FAQ (on the left sidebar) and start abiding by them. We stress post quality here - Aceburner's managed it so I'm sure you can. Capital letters and full stops at the beginning and end of sentences are a brilliant place to start your journey towards acceptability.
Since I get my noodles from Wagamama's, I don't really get a choice in how they're prepared, but I'm quite a fan of the Chili Chicken bowl.
aoi_hikari
I just pour boiled water on it and eat it (I don't really care if it's too hard or not) I've never heard of straining ramen though. My favourite flavor is l chicken flavour. :animesmil I would add stuff to my ramen, but I'm really lazy. By the way, I've never seen non instant ramen before. TheShinje
It's thread like this you wish that Instantramen14 dude was still around. ;) In any case, we don't get Ramen over here in the good ole New Zea of Land, so I will use the generic term of "noodles." I like my noodles half cooked, so the noodle still has some chewiness to it, and isn't all horridly soggy. My favourite flavour is beef, can't go past a good red meat flavouring. Sometimes I'll even add my own beef stock if I the noodles I pick don't have enough flavour. You know, I've never tried straining the water before adding the flavour, despite not liking the wateryness of it all. In my mind's eye (or is that tastebud?) It tastes delish.

BlueYoshi
Does anyone here actually get full on Ramen? My favourite flavours are Duck, Chicken, and Beef, although I stray to other flavours from time to time if they're available. I can't stand Curry flavoured Ramen though; not only does it taste bad, it has a horrible smell that I just can't overlook.
Kenso
I've never eaten non-instant ramen, unfortunately. My favorite flavor is creamy chicken, and I drain the vast majority of the water before I mix in the seasoning pack. I might try it without draining one of these days. The13thMan
I don't really like ramen. I used to eat shrimp flavored ramen all the time, so i kinda like that kind....but i typically try to eat something else, ramen's the last resort meal to me.
