Guest Grev
Yes, i know. It is probably as much of a mystery to you as it is to everybody else. Why has the human mentality nowadays stooped so low as to say, "HOW YOU LIKE THEM APPLES!?", after something has happened in return to another party, more than likely arguing with you. I still cannot comprehend why people say that phrase in response to certain things. WHY DO PEOPLE SAY THAT!? WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN!?!?!???!!!?!?!??!?!......*chortle* Thank you.
NightAlchemist
My friends J.C. and L and I were just talking about that yesterday!! We were trying to figure out why people said that and where we got it from!! J.C. says it was in a movie (I think she said 'Goodwill Hunting'), and she thinks that was where we got it from....But L and I have no clue. The13thMan
There are tons and tons of stupid phrases that people use all the time! I personally love the ones not often heard. I like to use them every now and then in a moment of fake anger and frustration. I can't think of any good ones at the moment though...i'm a bit preoccupied. So go **** yourself. ^L^ Later. Edit: I had to edit your post due to inappropriate language. Please don't try to bypass the word filter, it's there for a reason. Thanks. -Panda

musical_kitten
It still doesn't make any sense, but then again, I'm not the brightest bulb in the box. I'm used to saying really stupid things, like yelling at my sister's computer game and calling the characters "stupid pixels" so.... yeah. But I've never heard that phrase. Huh. vegeta rocker
It didn't come from Good Will Hunting, i heard that phrase long before then. My dad used to use it all the time. I will research and try and find out more, but I'm sure thats now where it first came from. EDIT: This is what I found. How do you like them apples?" means "So there! What do you have to say now? What are you going to do about it? Used ironically since the late 1920s." according to the "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" by Gregory Y. Titelman.
