A steaming hot shower was refreshing after being cooped up on the shuttle for 3 hours or so. The water managed to soothe all Trystens knots and aches leaving him feeling refreshed. Trysten enjoyed taking long showers when possible, washing all the pain, struggles and guilt of life away, "Can't miss the party though" he thought turning off the stream of water.

Stepping slowly out of the shower he toweled himself off, but stopped as he caught a glimse of himself in the mirror. His body was well toned and muscular, his smooth where in wasn't obstructed by a scar, he had been rather good looking before the explosion, not that he was ugly now, he just was different looking. Some girls liked it, and even if he didn't look like Cassidy or Switch, he still was quite charming, but girls normally didn't give him a chance. He stood there looking at the scars running down the length of his forearms, the large scar covering his left shoulder that looked like a fire, a few smaller ones on his chest and abs, and lastly his face.
"What a freakshow" He blurted out busting into laughter.

"I've seen worse" Virgil said perched upsidedown from the shower head.

"Doubt it" Trysten replied finishing his drying.

"At least you have your limbs and aren't crippled, even if you are put together like patch work." Virgil answered brushing aside Trystens remark.

"Don't you ever shut up?" Trysten growled walking back to his room, not really angry at what he said, just that he had said it, his imaginary bat friend.

Apon entering his room he walked to the closet where he had already hung out his outfit. Quickly he threw on a ribbed tank, underwear, before adding a dark pair of jeans and a black button-up shirt with white pinstripes diagnolling the shirt. Running a quick hand through his hair, and a spritz of his favorite cologne he was out the door. The common room was empty, most everyone allready at the party.

He found it with relative ease, loud bass, hard to miss in a base that's mostly halls. As he walked into the hangar he was almost instantly engulfed by the music, dancing, drinking and eating. It seemed like ages since he last got out, even longer since his last drink. Heading strait for the bar he caught a glimse of Rusti, sitting alone on a chair, watching Ajack and Emi dance, although it looked like a guy was trying to get her to dance with little avail.

"I'll take a Kamikazes, no make that 2" He told the bartender, who gave a curt nod before mixing the drinks.

Taking one in each hand he walked over to Rusti, "Hey sorry I took so long, I kinda got lost in the crowd" Trysten finished with a wink to her, sitting down and handing her one of the drinks.

"Oh it's fine, I just was watching Emi and Ajack go at it over there" She replied with a faint smile, the man lingering for a moment left swiftly, chasing after Clyne, which made them both laugh.

"Thats a kamikaze, you can drink it, but if you don't want it I'll take it" Trysten said motioning toward the untouched drink on the bar. "You look beautiful tonight, I think you should wear that dress more often" Trysten added though Rusti only looked at him with cloudy eyes.

"Sorry didn't mean to make that akward, anyways you looked like you needed some help, maybe some company, unless you're waiting for someone" He added after a moment of silence.

"Oh no, sorry just thinking, I guess you could say I'm waiting for someone, Cassidy invited me to have a few drinks with him, but I haven't seen him yet" She replied before taking a sip of the drink.

Trysten finished the last of his "Ah I see, well I can stick around until he shows up, but if you'd rather be alone" Though before he could finish a pink shirt draped over his head, causing them to laugh again.

"We'll I think I'll keep track of this for him, anyways I am gonna go dance for a bit" Trysten replied standing up and tying Ajack's shirt around his waist, ordering a shot of rum and downing it.

Rusti just answered with a nod, so Trysten turned and started walking towards the crowded dance floor, passing Cassidy on his way there. He looked like he was making his way to Rusti. He started dancing as soon as he stepped out on the floor, letting the music engulf him like a match to the flame. He was a talented dancer, from freaking to breaking, even to some classical, dancing was something he did alot before the accident. Now he only did it every now and then depending on the occasion. As he grew ever hotter, the friction of bodies grinding, he tied his own shirt around his waist, exposing his muscular but scarred shoulders. As he moved he noticed Clyne and Axl out of the corner of his eye, "Hmm I wonder if either of them would like to dance" He thought to himself as he made his way over to them, his steps still sure even with the alcohol in his blood.

OOC: You don't have to put Trysten in your post, Eclipse and Sakura, or at least you don't have to accept his invitation, and I can cover from there, just trying to get some interaction in with other characters.

Emi couldn't hear the steps as Ajack did, she was to happy, he was acting so diffrent tonight and even though the rumors had been going she hadn't cared. But it seemed he felt more comfortable like this so she just went with it. She looked up at him and opened her mouth to say something when a strong hand clmaped down on her arm, she winced openly as one of the officers pulled her away. He was only a rank higher then her and she didn't see the point in what he was doing.
"What are you doing?"
"A pretty girl like you shouldn't be with the likes of him."
"What the hell do you know?!"

She saw Rusti get up out of the corner of her eye and held up a hand telling her silently that she didn't need to get involved. The relationship was obvious between Rusti and Emi for those who looked for it. Emi was older that was true but Rusti was more mature so the positions were backwards, Emi was the little sister of most of the group, either that or the biggest annoyance any had ever laid eyes on.

She pulled her arm trying to free herself with no luck and brought her leg out and back kicking him the shin, he released her and she smiled but the smile dissappered as another officer, same rank, appered to his defense.
"Oh shit..."
She could smell the liquor on their breaths and grimaced as memories of her step father flooded her mind sending her back into the days of being beat and then thrown around like she was nothing. Her courage failed her then and she looked up at the officers only seeing the man that had made it so hard to trust when she first came into the ANGEL wire training...the same man that had made it so hard to trust her friends and to trust Ajack. She blinked it away and looked for that one thought. He was lost in the crowd and she did that only thing she knew of as the two officers started to drag her away and to their own table that was near the back anf full of other male officers that looked more then less innocent. She took a deep breath and let it out in a singal name, smileing as it was drowned out by the music but knowing that his hightend hearing would pick up.
"Ajack!"
She palnted her feet and growled in anger at the men trying to drag her away from the person that she wanted to be with and her fun.

Cassidy smiled pleasantly at Rusti's reply, kissed her hand, and left to join the party early. To maybe hit on a few of the local sluts to get his fix and then lay his self on the bar table. He tried not to think of Rusti as he unbottoned a few bottons on his collared shirt. His well muscled body exposing itself in a flirtations manner.

Sliding quietly into the party, music flooding his head, he was instantly approached by a dozen pretty girls. Most of them were looking for a one night stand or a few stands, but none seemed to be serious, and thats the way he liked it. He brushed them off as he made his way to the bar to order a shot of tequila and then back to the dance floor.

"You should come here," a seductive female voice rose above the commotion.

Cassidy turned his head, his slightly longer dark hair brushing his brow softly. The girl that stared back at him was a fiery red head with bright green eyes. She reminded him of Amber. He smiled and walked over to her, shoulders back and a ton of confidence on his sleeve.

"How can I help you?" Cassidy bent down and said into her ear so he didn't have to shout.

"You should dance with me. You look like you could sure show me a good time." She smiled seductively again, shoving her chest up towards him. She was only up to his chest, allowing him to look straight down her low cut blouse.

"I could show you more than a good time." He grabbed a hold of her waist and dipped his hips low against her's.

They danced for a few songs when he saw Rusti enter the room, distaste clearly on her face. He cringed involuntarily and released his new dancing partner. He couldn't make out her protest in as he tried to make his way through the crowd when he heard some one yell Ajak's name. He saw that Rusti had become more distressed then before and knew something was up.

He made his way towards the small parting in the crowd and saw two men dragging Emi towards other men. A pulse of adrenilen rushed through his blood stream. He pushed people carelessly out of the way as he cut off two more men coming at Emi, Ajak was on his way.

Cassidy grabbed a guy by the shoulder swung him around effortlessly and slammed his fist into the side of his face. A sick crack sounded before the man fell to the floor. The second man was instantly upon him, attempting to wrap his arms around Cassidy's arms and abdomen. Cassidy threw his arms up, broke the hold, and slammed his fist into the man's gut. He doubled over and fell on his face.

Cassidy's body was pumping with the rush of battle as Ajak took over. He took a deep breath and thought that it might be wise for him to find Rusti before she thought he stood her up. Again, he made his way through the crowd and over to the bar, taking a chair next to Rusti.

"Please forgive me," Cassidy said, ordering them both a drink. "I feared that Emi and Ajak may have had more than they could handle." He motioned towards the now open fight.
?Are you not going to attend the party?? the dark voice resounded throughout the room, its origin unknown.

?I am not fond of large crowds.? A female voice responded.

?Your not fond of a large amount of people or is it that your just not fond of people??

?I?m not in the mood for another psychoanalysing session.?

"Is that what you think when we talk? I?m merely looking out for your well being, sitting in the dark and contemplating the universe can be unhealthy if done too much, and let me say Ax that in your case it is extremely unhealthy.?

?Fine, I?ll go, for no other reason than too ease your conscious.? The voice spoke no more, a black glistening scorpion as large as the ceiling crawled down from the ceiling and onto one of the walls.

Axl undressed and stood naked in front of her closet scanning over an outfit to wear, everything she owned was either black or a deep, deep maroon colour. She didn?t deny or attempt to hide the fact that she loved gothic clothing. Axl decided on a simple short black dress with a slow slung back and shoe string straps, she wore heavy black military style boots on her feet, but since she had worn them hundreds of times before they didn?t seem heavy to her. She had no jewellery on besides a simple black collar around her neck. She decided that she would refrain from wearing anything too outrageous for her first night out at a new base, and step things up gradually to avoid giving the officers heart attacks.

The dress was chosen for a special reason, its low slung back allowed her to reveal her most prised possession besides her sanity, intricate black tribal tattoos. The tattoos were a right of passage; she was now considered an adult where she came from. Her ancestry dated back to new kingdom Egypt. Over time the tattoos were developed as a way of identifying the adults from the children. Her people became separated, roaming the desert and developing in their own unique way. She had been talking to Clyne for ages about the ceremony and how she thought she would not get them. But she did, on the same night as draduation, and it could not have made her more proud. The higher ups were notified of special things such as her tattoos so she wouldn?t get in trouble or worse expelled.

She wore absolutely no make up; the rings under her eyes were dark enough as it is. Checking her appearance was satisfactory she closed her door and followed the sound of thumping music. Bushing the door to the hangar open she was hit with a wave of heat and music, bodies were intertwined on the dance floor, others simply standing and bobbing their heads. Axl cringed as she walked over towards the bar and sat down going completely unnoticed.

?Vodka on the rocks? Axl spoke to the bar tender, he nodded but with a tilt of his head, as if her order was some how a little strange to him. She sat at the bar for a while, some of her friends passing her, either not acknowledging her or just simply not noticing her without strange clothes. Suddenly though all the noise she heard another females voice.

"Hey Ax, since when'd you come in?" it was Clyne, Axl smiled to herself.

?I say about a good 20 minutes ago.? Turning around Axl sat herself so that her back was no longer towards the party.

?Hey you got them!? She exclaimed, pointing to Axl?s back, Axl just smiled, a genuine smile full of pride and happiness. Clyne hugged her friend and congratulated her on the achievement. The two talked for a while, mainly about the boy whom Clyne had been dancing with and some of the other good looking males. Laughing Axl pointed to a figure approaching them.

?Here comes trouble? Clyne spoke in a joking manner while elbowing Axl in the ribs. I hope he doesn?t ask for a dance, Axl thought. It wasn?t that she couldn?t dance, rather that this type of dancing wasn?t her forte, at all.

Clyne smiled at Trysten as he joined the two girls at the bar. She sipped her Schnapps slowly, as her eyes continued to scan the room. She wasn't sure why it was, but since she was young she'd always been known for being watchful wherever she was, catching every detail and practically having a photographic memory.

"How's your night been?" he asked lightly after greeting them.

"Eh, not too bad myself." Clyne responded, eyes sliding across to Axl who shrugged with the same reply.

"So, would either of you like to dance?" he asked, a barely audible tinge of nervousness in his voice.

Clyne glanced over at Axl who didn't look at all willing to accept the offer. They connected eyes and she was telling Clyne to go if she wanted. With a nod and a small smile she rested the slim bottle on the counter beside Axl.

"Sure, let's go."

Trysten brightened and he took her hand, leading her back into the throng of bodies. Clyne naturally fell into rhythm with the music as they found space to move, swaying her hips with the music, lowering and raising herself along Trysten's body. He held her hips gently, guiding her and bringing them closer together. She looked into his eyes, they were so unique, his right eye being crimson, while his left was a bright blue, lighter than her stormy blues.

Their dance was interrupted with yells and sounds of fights. Clyne broke their gaze and looked over to where the commotion was coming from, a clear voice rang through the crowd crying Ajack's name. The pair looked at each other and quickly pushed through the crowd, trying to get through to Emi. By the time they had gotten there, several men were on the ground and practically anyone was being pulled in. Trysten watched as Clyne's eyes changed from a stormy blue to an almost steel like colour as she charged into the fray, he followed behind her, seizing an officer that had a grip on someone that clearly looked terrified and didn't want to be involved in the fight. Clyne didn't care, she shoved people out of her way, getting over to where she saw Ajack, now without the pink shirt, grappling with a group of officers as he tried to make his way to Emi.

She growled and struck, delivering a spinning back kick to the sternum of an officer that had one of Ajack's arms in a tight and painful lock before making a swift uppercut to his chin which sent him to the ground and making him release his grip on Ajack.

"Are you ok?" she questioned, eyes scanning for any sign of someone about to attack her.

Someone jumped at her from the back, she saw them in her peripheral vision and grabbed the onslaughter's right arm, using his momentum to throw him over her shoulder, crashing him to the ground on his back furiously, kneeling to send her elbow into his solar plexus.

"I'm fine. Emi..." he growled and lashed out, kneeing someone that tried to grab him from the front in the gut.

She risked a glance across to see that Trysten was now close to her and was watching the crowd. Now it seemed most people were reluctant to attack them.

"Thanks, but I can take them." Ajack said as he surged forward.

Clyne and Trysten stopped and watched him move on bravely, striving to rescue Emi. They knew he was a great fighter and trusted that he'd be able to do it, besides they didn't want to intrude. She felt tendrils of hair around her and realised her ponytail had come loose. With a shrug she joggled her hair, running her fingers through it to return it to its straight form after being tied.

"Hm, what an interruption." Trysten frowned, looking at the officers that littered the section of the dance floor.

"Let's continue." Clyne suggested, taking his hand and leading him away from the fight scene.

Trysten took the lead and spun Clyne stylishly, dipping and swaying her with the music before pulling her up against his chest. She reached up and touched his hair, his hair was special too, because it was half wavy and brown, and half straight and white.

"What happened?" she asked softly, not wanting to seem she was forcing him to answer.

"It's the result from an explosion some time ago." he said, looking to the side.

"I like it, it's special." she smiled, running her left hand through his hair.

They grinded together as a heavy beated song boomed over the speakers, the ground vibrating with the bass. Trysten looked at her eyes, they were looking a deep blue now, not stormy as they normally were, they appeared to be....less cloudy. He smiled at her and played with some of the straps on her arms, running fingers over the cool silver buckles as they danced closely.

OOC: ur post was good Sakura...I actually posted this right after you did yours so im changing mine slightly to match yours :-p

Each step that Ajack made towards Emi...that once intense passion that flowed through his veins became an intense hatred towards these men. He had found peace in the arms of this woman, and he had found another piece of himself again.

With his head hanging down slightly as he walked forward, following the yelling of Emi that the officers finally came to a stop as their retreat backwards was hindered by a pair of tables.

The crowd around them quickly fled from the scene as two bodies from the side of Ajack quickly fell with a moaning of pain. Turning his attention for a moment in that direction, Ajack picked up Cassidy's sweat pouring out of him from the rush.

Then more officers jumped at Ajack as he heard Emi's screams becoming more distant. Before he could react, Clyne came out of nowhere.

"Thanks, but I can take them." Ajack said as he surged forward.

...thank you my friends...

Turning back towards Emi, one of the men let go of his grasp on Emi and made a sprint towards Ajack...I only have a minute or two before security will be here...I'll make it quick.

Just as the officer began to come upon him, Ajack burst his eyes wide open, exposing his light green eyes, letting all of the light flood in. Even then he didn't know why he did it, but the officer was caught off guard for a slight moment at the sight as he thrust right hand.

Quickly sidestepping to the right, sensing every movement the officer made, Ajack dodged the jab and grabbed the arm with his right hand and moved inward towards the body. The officer tried to counter from his left but it was futile, Ajack already have position as he knocked the wind out of the officer with his left shoulder. Taking his now free left hand Ajack reached back to grab the right arm of the officer that was still in his grasp, and flipped the officer over his back onto the ground.

Before the officer could respond Ajack quickly thrust an open palm directly into the mans face, breaking quite a few teeth. Upon looking at the scene Emi's captor released her and threw her to the ground, making his way towards Ajack.

Ajack turned towards him upon seeing a knife being drawn out and slashed at his right arm. The damage was minimal as the wound began to bleed...Ajack could feel it only slightly.

A series of swipes from the blade followed, the man was obviously very skilled, but he was also drunk...and Ajack was faster. Dodge after dodge, Ajack swiftly moved his body from side to side, ducking and twisting in order to avoid the blade. He could only imagine the officer was now fearing for his life, cursing under his breath at his drunkin' foolishness.

A whistle was heard being blown in the crowd, they're coming.... In that moment the officer slashed across from his left with his right hand, trying to come down on Ajack. Knowing the end was coming, Ajack stopped the attack, grabbing the officers wrist with his right hand. Without hesitation, Ajack immidiately thrust an open palm again against the mans elbow, completely shattering the bones in his arm.

The officer screamed in pain while Ajack continued to hold the mans arm with his right. Quickly shifting his weight, he stepped with his right foot and twisted on its heeling, resulting in a fierce kick from his left right into the mans chest, sending him flying into on of the tables.

A sigh of relief came over Ajack as he closed his eyes and rubbed his eyelids. Before Emi could come to his aid two security officer grabbed Ajack from both side and twisted his arms behind his back and kicked the back of his knees, causing him to kneel on the floor.

A third individual walked up behind him, a man Ajack assumed to be another superior officer.

The two bodies intertwined flowing together, but seperate like two winds feeling each other out. The fight was a long forgotten memory, all that was in focus now was, her, the music, and his own footsteps. She spun grinding lightly across his hips, a innocent smile on her face as she continued to move her hips, shaking her ass against hit pelvis. His pulse almost matched the bass, beat for beat, his heart racing.

"I never knew you could dance" She said sliding a hand up and running it through his hair.

"I used to be pretty good til the accident, then I just stopped" Trysten said running his hand down Clyne's leg.

"Secrets, Secrets" She replied smiling as he spun her around, stopping so they came face to face.

He couldn't help but being lost in here eyes, they were like places you went and just didn't come back, they reminded him of the ocean. Sometimes clear, maybe cloudy, and can't forget stormy, but always beautiful.

"Ugh, you wearing me out" Trysten said grabbing her hand, while running his free hand through his hair "Lets go get a drink"

"Oh come on, you can do better than that" Clyne replied with a challenging smirk.

"Not without more alcohol" Trysten laughed as he puller her to two open seats at the bar.

"Kamikaze for me, and Schnapps for her I think" He said softly, his breaths shallow underneath his ribbed tank. "So tell me your story"

OOC: Sorry for the length but I am leaving to go out of town now, and I wanted to get something up. I'll be gone til tuesday or wednesday, sorry everyone.

Emi rushed forwards and took hold of the man's arm and pulled on his sleeve getting his attention.
"Please, sir he didn't start it! It was the others. He was helping me we're team mates."
"The title sounded dry on her own tounge but she didn't show it. The man studided her face and saw that brusies starting to come up on her arms and nodded to the security who let Ajack up with little or no sympathy, she scowled at them harshly and helped him to his feet gently.
"Are you alright Ajack?"
"I'm fine. Thank you."
"Not a problem, you helped me, it's only fair."
She smiled and let him lean on her as he regained his blance. She looked up at him and fished in his pockets for his glasses and slipped them back on his face for him. A slight smile reached his lips as she walked over to a table and put him in a chair.
"I'll be right back I promise."
He nodded and she took two stpes turned and leaned down kissing his cheek smileing and took off at a swift jog over to Trysten and as she passes swiped Ajakc's shirt from around his waist and then walked over grabbing her own shirt. She made her way back to the table to find Ajack with his hand on his cheek and smiled, he striaghtened as she took his hand again and helped him out of the hanger.
"Why are we leaving?"
"To much drama for my tastes now and the food there really wasn't all that great. Besides, I make a mean chicken salad sandwhich. Not only that I want to look at your arm."
He nodded and followed her as she led the way never letting go of his hand. Unlocking the door she turned on the lights and led him to the couch where he sat down and listened as she fished around for the first aid kit. Finding it she walked over and sat infront of him looking at the cut on his arm.
"It's not to bad but I think it needs cleaned just in case. Gods only know what those guys have on those blades. Makes me sick to think."
She smiled and put a little peroxide on a small cotton ball and started to press it to the wound slowly making sure to keep him comfotable above everything. She wiped it clean and then put alchohol on it makeing him jump as it burned, she leaned forward and blew on it to ease the slightl sting. Finishing she wrapped it cleanly and gently her hands lingering slightly on his arm as she tied the bandage off.
"There, good as new."
She stood and made her way to the kitchen.
"I noticed you didn't eat anything. You want one?"
Wether he would say yes or no she didn't really cae she began to assemble a sandwhich for him as well, toasting the bread in a frying pan with a little butter and parsley she added cheese and the freshly made chicken salad to the bread and then palted it with some plain chips. Handing one to him she smiled and began to eat her's.
"I don't remember any of this in the common room Emi, how did you know it was all here?"
"I know my way around a kitchen. If I hadn't made it here then I was gonna go into cooking. It's one of my passions. The other is the rush that I always have comeing out of the simulator, I just wnna run till I can't anymore. But when I was younger, I messed my knee up pretty bad so I can only run for as long as it lets me. I suppose we all have out little problems though."
She smiled and put a glass of water in his hand.
"Here take a drink."
She watched as he did so and then too the glass from him setting it on the table. She looked at him and smiled.
"Ajack, can I ask you something?"
"If I say no it never stopped you before."
"So true."
"Well, ask away."
she smiled and leaned back onto her hands as she looked up at the cieling.
"What color are your eyes?"
She looked at him and saw the shocked look on his face and smlied waiting patiently, pretty sure that that was not a question he was asked very often or even at all.

Expecting too much from others as usual... Rusti thought to herself, sighing in a somewhat exasperated fashion. Through the crowd of people, Rusti had managed to pick out Cassidy dancing with a very exceptional-looking red-headed young lady. Any normal person would have been angered at this, but Rusti just laid back in the seat, disappointment seeping through her body. She downed the Kamikaze that Trysten had thankfully given her, the alcohol burning her throat on the way down. The feeling was almost reminiscent of the burning of her flesh all that time ago.

The echoes of a disturbance reached Rusti's ears. For a crowded room, with a lot of noise, Rusti could pick out the startings of a fight. She could distinctly hear Emi's voice in the commotion. Turning her head around, Rusti looked for her friend in the crowd, wondering what she had done now. Since Rusti couldn't rely on her arms for any strength, she had to become very perceptive of what was around her. Inevitably, that came down to Rusti sharpening her senses. Her sense of sight, sound and touch were almost inhuman, although, she didn't like to become public knowledge.

Rusti stood, wondering if she should join into the fray. But then she noticed Cassidy carve his way through the crowd, Trysten and Clyne already helping Ajack to rescue Emi back from the men. However, it was soon over. Security quickly flooded into the room, breaking up the fight and restraining most that had involved themselves in it, meaning Ajack. Rusti sighed. There would be pricely repercussions in the morning.

But, with the knowledge that Emi was now in no danger, Rusti sunk back down into her chair to find Cassidy looking at her from the chair beside of her. Her eyes slightly widened with shock, not realising he had moved into it. Mentally, Rusti abused herself for letting her guard down.

" Forgive me..." he started saying. Rusti looked at him, an unamused look upon her face. Cassidy continued. " I feared that Emi and Ajack may have had more than they could handle."

Rusti nodded at him, showing him her thanks for helping them out. " Seems like you've made friends with a lot of people already." She was refering to the numerous stares Cassidy was receiving from the female portion of the station.

Cassidy didn't know what to say in response to that. He couldn't tell if Rusti was angry, jealous or disappointed at him. He safely assumed, by her comment, that she had seen him with the red-head.

Rusti stood, stretching her shoulders despite the sharp surge of pain that flew down her spine. Cassidy looked up at her, wondering what she was going to do.

" I don't think I'm cut out for this," Rusti said simply, giving a glance to Cassidy before moving to leave the hanger.

But, before she could, Cassidy had stood and gripped her firmly on the shoulder with his left hand. Rusti let out a loud wince of pain, immediately moving her hand to grip where Cassidy had laid his hand, jerking away from his grasp. He jerked his hand back in surprise when he heard her sound of pain. A tear of pain filled Rusti's eyes as she pushed through the crowd, making her way back to her room like a ghost. Cassidy watched in shock as he lost sight of her in the crowd. He looked at his hand, the one that had touched her. A large smear of heavy make-up lay upon it.

=======================================

Water cascaded down Rusti's back as she stood in the shower. She had her forehead pressed against the cold tiles as the warm water ran down her back and hair. Her black hair was down to the bottom of her buttocks, smoothed against her back with the water.

Rusti watched the water swirl down into the drain, it slightly cloudy with the make-up.

Stupid... stupid... stupid... Rusti cringed. Why... why do you always expect so much from people? You always get disappointed in the end.

It's because you want to believe the best in them.

" What do you want?" Rusti asked, not moving from her position in the shower. Her imaginary phoenix friend was perched on top of the door of the showers.

You know... in the ancient times, phoenix were regarded as the power, sent from the heavens, to the Empress. We were the symbols of high virtue and grace, of power and prosperity.

Rusti listened to his words, but nothing really registered.

" A mythical bird that never dies, the phoenix flies far ahead to the front, always scanning the landscape and distant space. It represents humans' capacity for vision, for collecting sensory information about our environment and the events unfolding within it. The phoenix, with its great beauty, creates intense excitement and deathless inspiration." Ring a bell?

Rusti could do nothing but nod. She turned off the water, realising that all her make-up was now washed away. Never again would she put herself in a position where her burns - essentially her insecurities - could be exposed. Sitting down in the shower, Rusti drew her knees up to her chest, holding them, her long black hair covering her scars. She lay her head on them, her eyes closing.

It will never be the same... Orion.

Clyne shifted her position on the bar stool, facing Trysten, resting her right elbow on the sturdy bar, playing with her bottle. She watched him carefully, he tried to slow his breathing rate like hers, she was a very active person and wasn't worn out easily, which is why she could have continued dancing if Trysten wasn't tired.

"So tell me your story." he asked, leaning his elbows against the bar, turning his head to look at her.

"What d'you mean?" she asked, taking a gulp from her bottle.

The two smiled at Emi as she whisked past them, grabbing Ajack's shirt from its spot around Trysten's waist. She hadn't actually noticed it was there while they were dancing, now that she looked, she saw his own shirt was there too.

"I dunno, tell me about your past, anything." Trysten smiled at her.

"Hmmm..." she pursed her lips thoughtfully, moving the bottle to her body, running the cool glass around her neck, chest and arms since she couldn't do anything else to cool, and leather was hot.

"Well, I don't know, you know most of the stuff about me."

"But I've heard it in parts, and mostly through other people. I want to hear things from your perspective."

"Ok, so I'm mixed; half Japanese and half English. My mum's Japanese and I'm really connected to that half of me, I love the traditions, attitudes and the language. My dad's English, and obviously I'm connected to that half too." she shrugged. "Ummm, I was born in Kyoto and we lived there for 5 years before moving to America. My dad works in a division of the military, connected to Syon Base which is kinda how I got into it."

Trysten looked genuinely interested in her past, giving her all of his attention. Clyne glanced off to the side, searching the room for commotion again as she continued.

"Hm....in school my best subjects were always English and languages, but I hated maths with a passion, still don't like it very much. Uh, what else do you want to know?" she asked him, taking a sip quickly.

"How about....where you got your unique eye colour from?" he stared into her eyes.

"Oh, short story; my mum has blue eyes, very strange but must be a regressive line somewhere up in my ancestory, and my dad has a greyish eye colour, so combining them I guess makes mine, but some reason my eyes change with mood, I'm a bit weird." she laughed, explaining it simply with a shrug.

"Mmm, that's interesting. But I do love your eye colour." he smiled over the rim of his drink.

"Say, do you want to get out of here? The music and lights are giving me a headache." she asked, jerking her head in the general direction of the exit.

"Yeah, let's go, I think others are slowly flooding out too." he nodded, downing the rest of his Kamikaze.

Clyne swiped the bottle from the counter and took Trysten's hand with her right so they didn't get separated by the throng of moving bodies. They passed Axl and Clyne quickly told her they were heading back to the dorms.

As soon as they exited the hangar, Clyne felt a lot better, the booming music was a lot less and her headache was now just a dull throb. They chatted about anything as they winded through the passages, back to their area. They saw Emi and Ajack in the common room and it looked like they were in an intimate moment. Clyne tugged on his hand and signalled into the females area, unlocking the door to her room and allowing him entrance.

"Take a seat on the bed or....anywhere." she shrugged with a grin, leaning on the table as she worked on removing the straps on her arms first.

"Here, let me help." he said, kneeling and starting on the straps around her thighs.

She tingled as his fingers lightly brushed over the delicate spots on her inner thighs as he removed the leather. She calmed herself and worked the buckles, putting them in a pile beside her. She gathered all of them and put them back into an accessory bag she'd brought with her, filled with lots of other random things.

"Do you mind if I take a shower? I'm pretty sweaty."

"Oh, no. Go ahead, I might take one too actually. I'll meet you back here when I'm done." he nodded.

They agreed and he departed, heading back into the male half of their new home. Clyne gathered her bathing supplies and walked to the showers, entering a stall quickly. She gathered her hair up and held it as she removed her leather top, it was disgusting to get off because the sweat had made the material stick to her body. After peeling the article of clothing off, she wriggled out of her pants, hanging them on a hook and turning on the shower. She sighed with satisfaction as the cool water refreshed her body, washing away the stickiness, and the little makeup she had on.

The shower was quick and she dried off and put on a navy blue robe, gathering her things and exiting the stall. She saw the feet of someone from beneath the gap and knocked gently on the "wall" that separated them.

"Hello?" she asked softly.

"Clyne?" a voice rang back.

"Oh Rusti, it's you. What're you doing? Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, just thinking."

She got the feeling that Rusti wanted to be alone, "Alright, seeya later."

Clyne exited the showers and returned to her room, rubbing at her hair at the same time. She closed her door hurriedly and changed into a black top with grungy type patterns printed on it and white trackpants with a navy blue and forest green stripe running down her leg on the left side.

Not soon after she changed, there was a soft knocking on the door, making her pad over and open it to reveal Trysten, his hair still looked wet like her, and he was wearing a t-shirt and pants. Clyne sat on her bed comfortably as he looked around, seemingly trying to decide where to sit. She chuckled and called him to sit beside her, he obeyed slightly nervously, glancing at her.

"Don't worry so much. Hm, now what should we talk about..."

OOC: Another sleepy post. May not be posting much because Shadow's not around so I can't continue by asking him about Trysten's past >< Besides this week's full of tests and stuff for me. Apologies.

Cassidy watched as Rusti rushed from the party, secruity finally departing the room as well. His hand was still slightly covered with the thin powder of make up when the red head from earlier approached him. She had some what of a scowl on her face from Cassidy's early depature, but managed to smile anyways.

"Hey hot stuff, I have a few drinks back in my quarters. Care to join me?" She reached forward to stroke Cassidy's chest to make her invitation more inviting, but Cassidy grabbed her wrist commandingly, shoving it away from him when she yelped in disapproval. He said not another word as he left the other women about to approach him and a few of their dates that had other words to say.

He wipped his hand on his pants carelessly and made his way back to their team's quarters. A few of the others had already made their way back. Cassidy felt himself starting to slip back into a memory he much rather have forgotten.

Bang!

He cringed at the sound ringing in his head. He slammed into a wall, eyes drawn shut forcefully. Tears squeezing around the edges of his eye lids. His breath came in heavy gasps. He slammed a fist into the wall. Fighting back the memory that threaten to take over his mind and send him into yet another fit of depression.

Something watches me...

Cassidy forced himself to stand and saw the white wolf again. Its yellow-green eyes watching him with cold dissatification. He straightened himself, looking about and seeing none of the team watching him. He smoothed out his hair and head right for where he knew Rusti would be. The showers.

He walked right past Ajax and Emi without a word. As he entered the showers, he undid his shirt and slid it from his muscular upper body. He saw one stall still closed and made his way slowly towards it. He slid the stall door open and saw Rusti curled up on the floor. He couldn't tell if she had been crying or not, but her sorrow was all too clear in her body lanuage.

He knelt down beside her, her wide eyes catching his in a look of fright as he wrapped her in his shirt to help make her feel less exposed. He wanted to draw her into him, but was afraid that she would think he was trying to advance on her. So instead he brushed her wet hair from her face and allowed his hand to linger on her face. It was her choice to allow him to stay or to make him leave.

"Your scars do not repluse me. They are a sign of your strength and a mark of beauty that no one else may have." He lingered a touch longer, but his heart began ache. He could feel emotions beginning to swell within his chest. He unlatched a tear-shape amethest crystal necklace from his neck and placed it into her hand. "This was her's. May it help you as it has helped me." He folded her hand around it.

He stood up, left his shirt with her and exited the showers. He once again made his way past Emi and Ajax and back out of the team's quarters. He flexed his chest muscles and balled his hands into fists. He needed to clear his head, and fast before it replayed in his head.

"Well look who I ran into, Mr. Too Good to Say Good-Bye." It was the red head from the dance floor.

"Does the offer still stand?" Cassidy said cooly.

"Offer, oh, my room?" A sudden gloating smile creasing her fair face.

"Yes," he tried to smile.

"For you," she looked him up and down, "any time."

"Shall we?"

"Right this way, big boy."

His blood pumped as he exited his first set of Val Tudo katas. Inner peace, however, seemed as elusive as a legged snake. His mind was awhirl with complications. They weren't his usual complications; speed-to-thrust ratios and wind shear equations were nothing to him anymore. No, it was all about people. Relationships, Cassidy, interaction, Rusti, pain, Rusti, his parents....

Everything fell apart right there. His bare chest began to heave as he remembered his father's smile, just moments before the crash. He could feel the explosion, the flames licking his body as the harness help him to the seat. He could hear himself calling for his mother as shrapnel pelted his face and chest...

He awakened from the rage, the despair and the pain, only to find himself in the last position of the final Val Tudo kata; a lethal pin with a knife-edged palm to the throat.

He barely registered the voice as he stood up.

The slow drip-drip of water behind her echoed musically in the shower cubicle. But Rusti couldn?t hear it. She was staring at the teardrop-shaped amethyst crystal that Cassidy, surprisingly, had left in her possession.

Your scars do not repulse me?

Those words ran through Rusti?s mind, over and over and over again. She cringed and grasped the necklace in her hand tightly. Those words Cassidy had said to her were the most painful ones of all, and yet, the most liberating. A swirl of emotions ruptured in her chest.

Anger. Hate. Sorrow. Fondness.

They were all there, inside of her. It had been a long time since she had felt all of these. It made her feel? human again. Like she could actually live somewhat normally.

Sighing, Rusti stood. She was anything but normal. Scars, that incident, her emotional state, her job. Moving out of the shower, Rusti clothed herself in her pyjamas ? an off-white female singlet and some short black shorts. She packed away her shower things and walked out of the bathroom and to her bedroom. On the way, she passed Clyne?s room. She could hear two voices from within ? Clyne?s and, to Rusti?s surprise, Trysten?s. They were talking about themselves, getting to know one another a little more than previously.

Passing through her open door, Rusti set her shower bag down and hug her towel up to dry. She shut the door, leaning against it. For their first night, it had been most eventful. Rusti walked over to her bed and put the necklace down on the bedside table. She crawled underneath the sheets of her new bed, finding it to be heavenly compared to the stiff cadets bed she had slept on for three years. A satisfied sigh escaped her lips. She drifted off to sleep, listening to the Goo Goo Doll?s song Iris.

==============================================

La la la, let the lilies lie,
Where the heart dies.
Place them on the face,
Of the one you can?t replace.

The sound of a singsong voice roused Rusti. She opened her eyes, her vision becoming more and more clear as time passed. Around her were old gnarled trees, dark and cluttered together. The smell of a damp forest now made Rusti fully aware of the landscape that surrounded her.

A forest?

It felt old and somewhat magical. The leaves on the gnarled trees were glossy and green, the bark a shade of ash-brown. There was a pool in which she was standing in, white water lilies floating around her with the small current. But, something was wrong with this place. There were no signs of life ? no songs of birds or insects, no movement of the trees with the wind or of animals in the undergrowth. It was almost like she was inside a painting or a scene of a play.

Leaving me all alone,
What were you thinking?
It was all your fault,
Or am I just dreaming?

That singsong voice of a child was back. Rusti snapped her head around, looking for the one who sang these haunting verses. But something else caught her attention.

While she was looking around, Rusti didn?t realise that she had sunk down into the water, her stomach now disappearing underneath it. Panic flooded through her body as she tried to struggle against whatever was taking her down. But, to her distress, her body wouldn?t move. In fact, it was oddly dressed. Rusti felt confused, and still panic-stricken. She was wearing an off-white, medieval type dress that floated like a ghost?s garments beneath the surface.

The water was now up around her throat. Rusti tried desperately to move but it seemed she was destined to go under. As water filled her mouth, washing down into her lungs, her remaining thoughts were of that burning hallway.

Rusti?s eyes snapped open as she rapidly sat upright. Her chest heaved with a slowing panic, her mind realising that it was just a dream.

? It was just a dream??

Her breathing slowed to its normal pace, her heartbeat normalising as well. Physically, Rusti now seemed fine, but in her mind, that haunting, singsong voice of the child.

The red fire burns,
No one wants to care.
Push them all away,
If they want to dare.

Rusti cringed at the words before looking over to her bedside clock. 0531. Her eyes then lingered to the amethyst necklace. Sliding her body from underneath the sheets, Rusti got out of bed. She walked over to her wardrobe, picking out a pair of tracksuit pants and pulling them on. What she needed right now was somewhere where she could get her mind off the dream, and last night?s events.

Walking out of her room, Rusti ghosted past Axl and Emi?s room. Now out in the corridor outside of the team?s headquarters, she looked left then right, before deciding to wander around to try and find some sort of physical training facility. The corridor was dimly lit, the darkness of space creeping inside the space station. Rusti could feel its cold fingers run over her shoulders, shivering slightly.

After wandering for a substantial amount of time, Rusti found a training facility, however, it was already occupied. She went to walk in through the door when she heard a masculine grunt and the swish of a very calculated palm strike. Rusti peeped in to see Artek.

? Oh? hello?? she said, sounding a little happy that someone else was up at this time of morning. Artek turned to Rusti, not saying much to her. The lights suddenly brightened, signalling the six o?clock start to the morning.

? Want to go have breakfast?? Rusti asked, smiling a little. Artek nodded and they left the training facility. As they walked along the numerous corridors, Rusti noticed the frequent scars on the young man?s back before he threw on his shirt. An unexpected thought crossed her mind.

They?re not that bad.

A stunned look crossed her face, she now realising what she had thought.

But? they?re more acceptable on a man than a woman. Scars on a man means he?s more masculine, tougher and has more fibre than others. Scars like mine are horrible, sickening things.

Finally, they had found their way to the mess hall. Rusti knew that it was optional that their squad could eat at their rooms, cooking in the general common room, or come to the mess hall, and eat with most of the other soldiers here. Artek followed Rusti as the both of them gathered their breakfast and sat down at one of the long tables in the room.

? Couldn?t sleep?? Rusti asked before starting to eat.
? Yeah. You?? Artek managed to get out before starting on his own, his eyes looking very hungry.
? Same.?

Silence followed as the two ate their breakfast, slightly enjoying each other?s company. Rusti pushed her tray to the side, letting her now lay her arms on the table before her.

? Hey, did you go to the party last night?? she asked, looking at Artek.
He nodded. ? Only for a small while.?
? How come you didn?t come and talk to me??
? You seemed busy.?
Rusti looked at him now with a curious look. ? Busy??

Artek didn?t get to answer the question when the room turned red, an alarm ringing throughout the whole space station, its piercing cry waking all who were asleep. Rusti jumped in her seat, shocked at the sudden alert. Then, a booming voice from the PA system drowned out the alarm.

? ALL PERSONELL TO BATTLE STATIONS! NEW MECH PILOTS TO THE STRATEGY ROOM IMMEDIATELY! I REPEAT??

The message was repeated three more times as Artek and Rusti raced through the halls, towards the strategy room, people skirting around them in a hurry.

What could possibly go wrong now?

Tears streamed down the dark complection of the spainish girl that had come to live with Cassidy and his parents. The bathroom was dark after one of only two light bulbs had blown. He could see her dark eyes staring back at his with such love. Her dark hair lay across her right shoulder, covering the opened low cut collar of her shirt. She was beautiful and his heart swelled with sorrow to see her crying so heavily.

"Amber, what's wrong?" Cassidy's voice broke into a small squeak...terrified of what may become of this moment. He took a step forward, his gangly fourteen year old body trembling with fear.

"Don't come any closer," she pulled her hand up, it trembling from the objects weight.

"What are you doing, Amber?" Cassidy sobbed softly, trying to stay strong.

"I love you," she cried.

BANG!

The room went red. Blood rushed towards his sneakers. Panic threaten to take over him. His chest heavied up and down, his breath coming in short gasps. He fell to his knees, sobbing. He dared not bring his head up, but something tugged on him to. That's when he saw the white wolf again. Its head bent lapping at the blood on the tiled floor. The white wolf rose his head, mouth stained with crimson blood, and stared into Cassidy's eyes.

******

Cassidy sat up, sweat rushing down his face and over his bare chest. He reached up to grasp the necklace and found that it was gone.

Rusti...

He looked over at the red head that laid next to him, also nude. He felt a sudden surge of nausea rush up into his mouth. He pulled the blankets from his body, threw on his pants and left the room in a whirl of emotions.

He had only made it half way down the hallway when the alarm system began to blare, and the announcer came over the PA system. "STRAGERY STATION..." and Cassidy was off and running.

Emi trugded out of her room sullen as she ran into Chase. She looked up and shrugged, he raised an eyebrow at her and she just heaved a sigh.
"Emi, what's wrong?"
"Well, me and Ajack came back here last night and well-"
"He didn;t want to go to your room?"
"That's not it, perv. No I asked him what color his eyes are and he looked at me like I had asked him how big his dick was."
Chase nearly spit the coffe inhis mouth across the room as he tried to lugh. He coughed as he spoke to her.
"Okay, what happened then?"
"Well Rusti came in and then acouple others came in , then Cassidy came and left and the next thing I knew he was standing up and walking away from me. I think he doesn't like me anymore. If he ever liked me to begin with."
"By sounds of what happened last night at the dance I'd say most likely. You probably just surprised him with the question."
She shrugged as the announcement rang over their heads.
"What the hell? can I not even eat first?"
"Grab something to go."
She nodded and ran to the firdge pulling out two small orange juices and 4 bananas. He shook his head and she smiled as Ajack came from his room as well, she brushed past him quickly pushing one of the juices into his hand and two of the bananas into his other. She didn't look back but was sure that his exspression was a good one. She waved Chase on as she took her slight time to make sure Ajack didn't get lost She leaned on the door as he entered, she grabbed his hand and pulled him to the side as all the others went to the middle of the hanger to get their orders.
"Look Ajack, if we're going out there to fight I want you to know something."
"Don't say your goodbyes Emi."
"I'm not. I just don't want a team member angry at me if I need him or her to watch my back while I'm out there."
She still hadn't releasesed his hand. she looked up at him and took a deep breath to steady her self, she was nervous that he was mad at her for what she had asked him.
"Look about last night, I'm sorry if I offened you. I didn't mean to. I'm sorry."
She turned as the deep voice of a higher ranking officer shot towards them.
"Masters, Blade. Lets go!"
"On the way sir!."
She turned to Ajack and kissed his cheek like she had the night before.
"I hope you can forgive me."
She still held his hand as she led him to where the others were and as they rounded a corner she let go so he didnt feel to exposed or embaressed about his blindness and listened carefully for her next orders.

...I'm not ready... he felt so embarrased to utter those words to her...to give some kind of explanation for his behavior.

...you're not ready...not yet... the same words from last night continued to softly whisper in his thoughts as he and the others awaited further instructions. They all sat in their respectable seatings in the strategy room, each anxiously awaiting further instructions.

Then tension in the room was almost unbearable...not just because of their first mission, but certain events that transpired last night. Behind those black sunglasses of his, shifting his attention from one of his friends to thee other...we all have our secrets...why do they always seem to come to the surface before a battle just like last night...

He said a silent prayer in his mind, praying that everyones hearts would be kept safe in the upcoming mission...that their pains and regrets would not surface and compromise their survival in this. He loved them all...so very much...

...above all others I love you Emi...thank you...for giving me such life...

Then something forced its way into his thoughts, pushing aside Emi from his mind.

...then what are my regrets...

Something was coming, Ajack could feel it...but couldn't find the words to describe it. But something was happening to him, as he was sure it was to everyone else in one form or another...that much he knew.

...I'm lossing myself...or parts of myself...my fears...my regrets...

Whether it was a vision or simple psychosis, that night as Ajack sat in his bed...his eyes faded into another world, similar to that of the other night. The Cheetah was there...standing before him as a fire burned brightly in the night.

Why Ajack didn't know, but throughout the entire vision...the beast simply cried out to the darkness. With each passing moment as it yelled...something began to burn inside...a compelling urge to join in.

...you've unlocked your will to run...now you must unlock your defiance if you're to win... the words were like that of ghosts...demons...angels...

...to win what... Ajack could only think the words as he sat in awe at the beast before him, defying the nightsky with its roar.

Then suddenly it all melted away...his fear...his uncertainties...everything. In that moment, Ajack joined in with the Cheetah and cried out at the top of his lungs, letting all of the air in his lungs to flow out of him, like his very life-force was leaving him.

While inhaling to continue, he breathed in something new...something...

***

The door to the strategy room burst open with a multitude of footsteps following. Before they were all addressed. "Emi..."

She of course was sitting next to him and looked in his direction to find him pulling down his sunglasses on one side towards her and revieled his eye. Emi felt for a moment a shock, but quickly turned to a surprising joy swelling up in her stomach...to be trusted with something like this.

"Please forgive me for my behavior at the end of last night; I could never be upset with you Emi..." without her knowledge Ajack had found her wrist laying at her side and kissed it softly.

Lifting his glasses back to their comfortable position, he turned away from Emi and listened to the orders now being given.

Clyne and Trysten had stayed up late in the night continuing their conversations, just learning more about each other's past. They had never actually taken the time to get to know each other well even though they had been training at Syon Base for years. They had chatted all the way into early hours of the morning, not noticing what time it was until Clyne glanced over out of curiousity. Realising it was late the two decided to turn in for the night.

Clyne was very tired and comfortably sleeping when she received a surprise wake up call. The alarm blared loudly, echoing through the entire station.

"ALL PERSONEL TO BATTLE STATIONS! NEW MECH PILOTS TO THE STRATEGY ROOM IMMEDIATELY! I REPEAT?"

It took a couple of seconds for it to register in her sleepy mind. She immediately sat up in bed, rolling out hurriedly. She wondered what the problem was, but it had to be big. Clyne looked down at her outfit, it was the same as what she had changed into after her shower. She decided to change into a pair of creamish pants, the same type as what she had worn to the party. She pulled on her joggers quickly and ran out of the room, combing through her hair with her fingers.

Trysten entered the common room at the same time as her. He grinned, both looked rumpled and half asleep. He'd actually changed his entire outfit though, wearing a crimson button down shirt and black pants.

"Come on, let's go." Clyne jerked.

The two thundered down the hall, weaving between all the other frantic people moving to their battle stations. He grabbed her hand as they moved, trying not to get lost as they headed to the Strategy Room.

They finally found it and entered, panting slightly as they looked at the room, full of most of their companions. Clyne slid into a seat next to Emi, Trysten falling in beside her as they waited quietly for the other members, and for the briefing to begin.

OOC: I'm Baaaack. Sorry again for the trouble, thanks a bunch for looking after Trysten Sakura. I'm gonna post although I prewarn it's nothing impressive, just something to get back in the loop.

Trysten stripped absently in his room, throwing his clothes into his laundry basket. They weren't really dirty, he had only worn them a few hours but habit was habit. Climbing underneath his warm comforter he layed with his eyes wide despite feeling tired. His body might be ready for sleep, but his mind raced with thoughts of her. Tonight seemed like a fairy tale, a blur, like it happened too fast but also like it lasted forever.

-----------

Sitting on Clyne's bed he yawned, her miraculous blue eyes matching the giggle she made, though it was cut short by a yawn of her own. Her eyes glanced over to the clock "Wow it's that late, we probably should get to bed" Clyne said fighting another yawn.

"Yeah your probably right, I don't want to be sleepy when we get grilled for the fighting tomorrow, well today" Trysten finished with a sigh standing up. The sigh wasn't for the lecture they would get, it was cause this night was coming to an end.

Standing up with him, Clyne grabbed his hand and walked him over to her door. "Thanks for everything tonight, we'll have to do it again soon" She said reaching her arms around Trysten's neck pulling him in to her. Settling his arms around her slender waist "Anytime, I hope you had a good time" Trysten replied as she squeazed a little tighter her chest pressed against his, her heart beating rythmaticly.

"I did, I'll see you in the morning though, bright and early" Clyne laughed breaking away from the embrace, though thier hands found one another again.

"Yeah, bright and early" Trysten laughed before taking her hand and pressing it slightly to his lips "Til tomorrow" With that he left walking swiftly to his room.

-----------

Rolling over in his bed he brushed a fingertip across his lips "Did you have a fun night?" Virgil asked suddenly at the foot of Trysten's bed. The bat was just a shadow, a shadow with glowing eyes.

"Yeah I did, don't you ever sleep?" Trysten questioned with another yawn looking over to his clock 05:52.

"Hmm we rest, but nothing in the sense of what you call sleep, and I usually do that during the day" Virgil spread his wings, making his shape look rather ominous in the darkness

"Ah I forgot your a bat" Was the sarcastic reply cut short by flashing lights and sirens.

"EMERGENCY, ALL NEW PERSONEL TO BATTLE STATIONS. NEW PILOTS REPORT TO THE STRATEGY ROOM ASAP"

Rubbing his eyes he glanced to the foot of his bed, the bat was gone. "Just as well, what the hell is going on?" He thought to himself sliding on a pair of black pants, and thowing on a half buttoned crimson shirt, wrinkled from his suitcase.

Running out into the common room, he met eye to eye with Clyne. "Do you know what's going on" She asked looking around, as if the answer would appear. "No clue but lets go" Trysten mouthed doing the same.

"Come on, let's go" Clyne jerked to running after a smile at Trysten.

It didn't take long for him to catch her, grabbing her hand as they ran they dodged and weaved through the other people racing to thier own destinations. After a small amount of looking they found the Strategy room. Entering quickly Clyne took a seat next to Emi, pulling Trysten to the seat next to her, not that he minded. They sat there waiting for the last few people to arrive, Trysten still holding her hand, and Clyne still holding his, although the need had passed.

Artek raced down the halls next to Rusti, the scars on his bare arms stinging in the cold station air. His one good eye was focused ahead of him, his senses unfolding around him. He hastily avoided ramming into several others, Ajack and Clyne, it looked like, and protectively grabbed at Rusti to keep her from doing the same. When they started running again, he didn't realize she'd taken her hand back from him.

His eyes narrowed when he saw a hastily-dressed redhead exiting the boy's dorms as they raced past. He sneered a little in anger, knowing full-well it was Cassidy's chosen bedmate for the night. He blinked away the rage.

Save it for the field, boy.

He thought back to his father's last words, the flashing red lights and the anger that was building in him slowly taking him back to that day...

---Flashback---

The flames licked his body as he called out for his mother. His heart was beating fast. He knew he was losing blood, knew he was breathing too much smoke while he was screaming. But he needed his mommy, needed his daddy. He wailed as the sound of ambulances drew closer. He hated that sound. It meant something was wrong.

The heat was growing unbearable. The flames stopped licking and began biting hard at his four-year-old body. He began to cough, hard, and knew without a doubt, he was going to find the Great Spirit soon. The wailing grew louder, the world grew darker, and there seemed to be the echo of a screech on the wind...

His consciousness began to fade. The screech grew louder, and he felt a sudden weight settle on his chest. The harness broke. He looked up, the blood draining from his body quickly as he felt shrapnel and metal suddenly withdraw from his back, and saw a golden eagle's eye locked onto his. He blinked as he heard faraway voices.

His eyes opened again to see the base firefighters and EMTs above him. The eagle was gone.

"We got a live one here! Good god, I don't believe this... get him to medbay, NOW!!"

He closed his eyes and knew no more...

---End Flashback---

"Artek!"

He was shaken out of his internal musings by Rusti's yell. He shook his head and looked around, nodding. The door in front of him read 'Strategy Room: Briefing'. He turned to Rusti, a grim set to his jaws, and opened the door even as he felt the familiar flutter of an eagle's wings behind his head, the familiar weight of his friend, Jarek, upon his shoulder. As he walked in to the room next to Rusti, he could have sworn he heard her gasp...

OOC:: Jeez school is a monster ><. Anyway I have to get ready for school soon so here is my post.

Edit:: Ha ha I don't need to go to school!

Fheng Lei didn't bother to go to the party that day. Too much drama occurs when he goes to one. Instead he he took a nap for half of the party. When sleeping he feels at peace and when rested he feels calm. But the real reason he was going to sleep was to see if he could get in contact with that falcon. It intruiged him and he wanted to learn more. But it seemed like it was never going to happen to him again so he woke up. He got out of bed to work out, stretch and exercise in the time he had left. He started doing one handed push ups and leg stretches to keep in shape. To keep his mind in shape he started thinking up strategies for battle.

He then started to think about all the other cadets who were promoted. They are all angel wire now just like him but for some reason Fheng almost sees them as competition. Hearing the air cheif was talking to them it seems like they all had potential. But the way he talked about some of them troubled him. Fheng wants to know who is the best out of the group....and he wants it to be himself. When the first mission comes he is going to make sure that he prooves to the others he is a force to be reconed with!

Trying to think of ways to acheive this goal he was suddenly interrupted by.....

"ALL PERSONEL TO BATTLE STATIONS! NEW MECH PILOTS TO THE STRATEGY ROOM IMMEDIATELY! I REPEAT?"

Fheng fell out of the hand stand because the loss of concentration. The way he fell seemed to be amusing so he started to laugh. He put his sneakers up and stretched one more time. He was still alittle silent because he just woke up. But in his head he was telling himself it was about time. He was highly motivated already and was sure everything was gonna go right. Failure didn't even cross his mind as he got out of his room. He started to walk towards the strategy room while seeing everyone rushing there. He jogged there so he didn't waste any energy. His running was silent which made him laugh more for some reason. But he found the strategy room and randomly choose a seat.

Emi couldn't help but smile now as she looked over at Ajack and reached over, under the table taking his hand in her's and giving it a gentle squeeze. She suddenly threw up the same hand, Ajack's still safetly under the table, and waved it at the commanding officer in the room.
"Balde?"
"So you called us in here. We're in here. Now what? We sit there while everyone else gets bashed? No offense but I think I speak for all of us when I say. Not what we're all about."
"Watch it Blade. Your one of the ones that everyone says will be suspended sooner then later."
"Really? Wow. I'll be damned. I didn't think that they would be taking bets, that's really amazing. My reputaion has come with me allthe way up here. I'm really suprised I mean-"
"Blade! Do you ever shut up?!"
Rusti answered that for her.
"No unless you have food or she's fighting, or training."
The officer blinked as the others chuckeled or laughed lightly. It was a surprise that they were close enough to one another to trust each other in a situation as battle like now to still joke and laugh amoungst each other. Emi stuck her tounge out at Rusti and smiled.
"She's right though you know. I mean I really never do shut-"
She silenced her self as Ajack tugged lightly on her hair telling her that it was enough. Agian a look of shock came over the officer and he cleared his throat as she began to tell them all what they were doing Emi had her hand on Ajack's knee letting him know silently that she was still there, her being so quiet was a rareity and the last time she was next to him and this quiet he had reached over and poked her in the eye wondering if she was still there. She smiled at the memory, they had just met that day and he was being a smartass when he did it but since then she rarely left his side. She smiled as she recalled a conversation over a freindly game of cards with Rusti disscussing the matter.

'He trusts you. That's a given.'
'You think? I hope so.'
'You like him? Even though he's blind?'
'He can see, just not the same way we do.'
Rusti nodded.
'But what he can't see, you see for him. Your his eyes.'

Emi held back the grin that threatened to spill onto her face, she had never told anyone about that conversation and didn't plan to for a while. She listened to the officer as her mind waundered, Rusti watching her from across the table. Emi did this everytime they got orders, it kept her nerves at bay; Emi's mind waundered back to the first time she actaully did meet Ajack.

He had been sitting down in the breifing room when she walked in. She caught sight of him, his glasses making her curious all on their own. She walked toward him and pouted slightly as another girl sat down next to him smileing prettily. She kept an eye on him the entire time and blinked as when they got up to leave he pulled a walking stick out from under his desk, the girl that was there leaving as soon as she caught sight of the thing. Emi rolled her eyes, shallow. Walking over to him she caught a book as it fell from his arms, he frowned as he felt it in the air next to him. Emi had taken his hand and put it in her's shakeing his hand firmly letting him get a feel of friend or foe and smiled as he shook back telling her he had made a friend desicion.
"My name is Emerald. But all my friends call me Emi. I'll help you get to class."
She took his schedule and smiled.
"Sims traing first off, you must be a damn good piolet. I don't have that till third. You have breifing stations after that. That's cool. I'll be in there as well. I can help you there and whatever. So what's your name anyway?"
"Ajack and I don't-"
"Ajack? That's a cool name. Well lemme tell you one thing that I've found out about this place already, the food isn't half bad it's actually pretty good."
"Look, I'm sorry to tell you but I don't want pity. And I really can do this on my own."
"I'm sure you could. And it's not pity, it's called being friendly. Well here's your class."
She had led him straight to his class with him haveing to use his walking stick or touch the walls at all. He had simpley follwed her voice. She had helped him without embaressing him. After that they had grown to become good friends, and in between there; Emi had fallen for him. Hard.

She came out of her thoughts as Ajack took her hand again making sure it was her and squeezed his hand in reassurance, this time not letting go.

Sorry this isn?t brilliant or anything, I?m just playing catch up.

+ + +

Axl looked around at the party and had a realization; she could no longer see any of her friends. Snuffing a laugh to herself she flicked a strand of hair behind her ear. ?Typical??

?That you should be all alone?? Axl immediately spun around on her stool so see who had made the comment but there appeared to be no one. ?Go away?? she whispered sternly. Standing, Axl skulled what was left of her drink and made her way out of the hangar. She was one of the last to leave.

Axl was never one for sleep, sleep was just another thing she had to do in order to function properly, and like other things one could get used to not having it. She looked over her shoulder back towards the sleeping quarters and kept walking. Stations like these always had viewing platforms, she would always go somewhere similar when she needed to relax or think.

Eventually finding one of many platforms she entered, seeing that no one was using it. The view was spectacular, Axl smiled to herself as she put one of the head phones in her ear of her mp3 player. Music streamed into her ear, bass thumping, piano, guitar, how she loved piano. Axl drifted in and out of sleep, mesmerized by the scenery and hypnotized by the music in moments of . ? ?.so many of them scarred, some visible, others invisible, some so deep they are only remembered in times of silence?yet? I wonder, have any tasted death? You have, you know what lies beyond. Tell me, if any of them asked, would you honestly be able to tell them the truth?"

?I wish you would just leave me alone.?

?I?m sorry; I didn?t realize this viewing platform was taken.? Axl was instantaneously snapped from her dreaming. A figure stood in the entrance to the platform, dark and tall.

?It?s not, come in, I was just leaving.? Axl took one last look at the view before turning to leave the stranger to his own devices. As she reached the entrance that was also the only exit he put a hand to her shoulder, effectively stopping her from leaving.

?You don?t have to go, I usually come here when I can?t sleep, it seems as though someone else has also found my hiding place.? Axl stepped backwards allowing the man to enter, effectively he was the most frightening person she had ever stood next to. There was nothing wrong with his appearance however; it seemed to be his very presence. The stranger was wearing all black; she could see no markings on him of any kind to identify him as an officer or member of the base for that matter. His hair was shoulder length and wavy, dark brown with obvious flecks of natural blonde. His eyes were a piercing bright green, almost yellow to a point. His face was well defined and a well looked after goatee grew from his chin. It was impossible to tell his age, he could have been anything from 18 to 30.

He stood motionless, looking out at the view, not making a sound. Axl stood staring at him, also unmoving and unwilling to break the silence they shared. Thoughts ran though her head in rapid succession. ?Is this guy special forces or something? ?No, black operations? ?Commander? ...a figment of my strange Imagina??

?What?s your job here?? His voice, it sounded strangely familiar yet totally alien. Axl hesitated before answering.

?I?m a mech pilot, just transferred here with a group of others, newly graduated.? The man smiled and nodded, he turned and stared at her with those eyes.

?Then you haven?t seen the true horrors of what war can bring, mass blood shed, experienced death??

?Death is the one thing I am quite familiar with.? He tiled his head at her with a questioning look. Axl stared back at the man. He took a long step closer to her, their faces almost touching, the man moved closer to her, as if he was about to?

"ALL PERSONEL TO BATTLE STATIONS! NEW MECH PILOTS TO THE STRATEGY ROOM IMMEDIATELY! I REPEAT, ALL PERSONEL ?"

Axl turned towards the doorway, ?god how long was I lying there for?? her mind screamed. She ran from the room leaving the stranger.

?That was the weirdest thing ever?? she puffed as she ran, dodging people left and right, Axl made her way quickly back to her room and changed clothes as fast as she could. Axl wiped her face with a towel before checking her appearance quickly in a mirror and running out of her room. There were even more people in the hall ways then there were before, she had to avoid bodies left right and center and almost knocked three people over.

Finally reaching the strategy room Axl quickly sat down and caught her breath, she smiled as she took a seat next to Fheng Lei.

The buzzing of the alarms was starting to give Rusti a headache. She grimaced as the increasing throbbing pain in her head became more intense with every passing second. Finally, the alarm was toned down, leaving it to scream in a dull roar. The door to the strategy room opened momentarily, a senior officer of ANGEL Wire entering, now closing the door behind him. He walked to the front of the room, placing himself in behind the digital projection unit.

? Before I get to the situation, I will introduce myself. I?m Air Marshall Hagan. I will be your primary liaison officer, in and out of battle.?

Air Marshall Hagan was an imposing figure. He had broad shoulders, strong arms and a very roughened, but military, look about him. He looked much much tougher than any of the officers down at Syon Base.

? Our security alarm went off because one of the ANGEL Wire stations on one of the other continents was attacked by an alien force and taken over.?

Rusti?s eyes widened with shock. An alien force? Oh this is going to be good?

? We have confirmed that they were targeting the prototype mechs that they have been specifically developing on that station. How they came by this information, we do not know. But we do know that they now have these mechs at their disposal, and it seems they have the technology to use them at half their capacity.?

? Only half sir?? Trysten asked.

? I can?t go into the details now, Lieutenant Charon, because there simply isn?t enough time. There have also been reports of causalities down on Earth. Fortunately, the group of civilians were only injured, no deaths. But the attack on their vehicles that were driving along the State Highway near Syon Base is a concern. The alien force has signalled its intent to harm civilians.?

Air Marshall Hagan looked down at the clipboard that was handed to him. He read the page?s contents quickly as it was an update to the situation. Turning his head to the officer that had given him the report, he nodded, showing that he acknowledged the orders given. The officer gave a short nod back and left the room at a sprint.

? I have just received your orders, lieutenants,? he said, an authoritative tone ringing in his voice clearly, sounding like he was a man that wasn?t to be messed with.

Orders? We haven?t even been assigned our mechs yet! Rusti thought quickly as the Air Marshall continued with his spiel.

? Lieutenants Revelin, Masters, Balde, Stevens, Logan and Morgan??

Chase, Ajack, Emi, Cassidy, Axl and Switch all looked up at the Air Marshall, all attentive looks on their faces.

? As the ground division, your mission is to find the ground-based mechs that have been deployed and protect any military outposts or civilians at any cost. Drive them away if possible. You will receive your SOUL modules on the way into the primary hanger. As well as your modules, co-ordinates and information on the battle will be sent to your mech?s main system before launch. The squadron leader for this mission will be Lieutenant Stevens. Dismissed!?

The six of them stood, saluted the Air Marshall and sprinted from the room. An officer ran in front of them, leading them down to primary hanger one. It was protocol for one of the mech pilots to be temporarily promoted to Squadron Leader for the duration of a mission. It would be someone whose speciality would be the most effective in the oncoming battle.

The Air Marshall then turned to the remaining group.

? Lieutenants Geiger, Lei, Charon, Blackfeather and Ophelia??

This time Rusti looked up at the Air Marshall, waiting for her orders. Clyne, Trysten, Artek and Fheng followed suit.

? As the air division, your mission is to fight off the air-borne mechs that are approaching this ANGEL Wire stations and the ones nearby, as well as drive their forces back into their spacecraft, wherever they may be.?

? You?re telling us that you don?t know where these guys have come from?!? Fheng blurted out, surprised.

An angry throb of a vein in the Air Marshall?s temple twitched. ? No Lieutenant Lei. This force has their main spacecraft well hidden. None of our current searching systems are able to locate their forces.?

Rusti sighed. Great? just great?. first they steal our most advanced weapons? and then he tells us to fight a predominantly invisible force?

? You will receive your specific SOUL modules when you enter the primary hanger two. Battle statistics and co-ordinates will be sent to your mech?s system prior to launch. The squadron leader for this mission will be Lieutenant Charon. Dismissed!?

Rusti jumped up from her seat and saluted at the Air Marshall. The others did the same before being led out of the room, at a sprint, to primary hanger two. It was a fairly long run, even for fit, military officers such as themselves. Soon they came to a large set of metallic doors. The officer that had led them here typed in a password on the keypad beside the door. Sounds of the metal warping and cracking echoed loudly in the resonant hallway.

The doors opened and before them, a sight unlike any they had seen before, dawned upon them. In the room lay six unique, but grey, MechAnimas. Rusti had never dreamed of actually flying a true MechAnima. The difference between the mechs they had piloted in training and the ones that lay stone-like in front of them was that MechAnimas were specifically designed for the pilot, accentuating and embodying their strengths and diminishing their weaknesses.

Hurried steps came towards the awe-struck pilots as they looked at the remarkable machines before them. Rusti looked to the person who had approached them. It was an older man, dressed in a scientific white coat. There were grease smudges, oil stains and dirt marks all over the coat, actually making it turn a dull grey. Glasses were perched on his hooked nose, intelligent eyes looking out from behind them.

? These are the pilots?? he asked very quickly, knowing the full extent of the situation at hand. The officer nodded and then left their group, having jobs to do elsewhere. The scientist looked over them speedily before introducing himself.

? Not isn?t the time for large introductions, but I?m Professor Stian. Lieutenant Ophelia, step forward,? he instructed, looking at the group for the one he wanted.

Rusti stepped forward confidently. The Professor shakily handed her her SOUL module. The small chip was a brilliant red colour. It looked like fire. She looked up at the Professor with a quizzical look.

? The colour relates to what MechAnima you pilot.? The Professor turned and pointed to a bird-looking machine near the back. ? You have been assigned the Phoenix. You are now able to pilot it.?

The phoenix?! Rusti thought, shocked at her designated battle partner. She slowly moved towards it, her mind still in a confused, stunned whirl before the Professor yelled out to her.

? Make sure you get into your piloting suit first!?

Rusti cursed, forgetting about protocol. She turned on her heel quickly and ran to the locker rooms where she managed to find her locker quickly, wrenched it open and grabbed the skin-tight, durable suit out of it. Quickly pulling it on, Rusti made sure that she had ripped nothing and zipped herself up. On her way out, she almost collided with Clyne, who flew past her into the girls? locker room.

Now making her way to the grey Phoenix, Rusti wondered about the coincidence between her imaginary friend and the MechAnima received. But before long, she came back to reality, to see the giant machine tower over her. A rope elevator with a foot hold hung down from the chest of the mech. It was just like the ones in training. Rusti grabbed hold of the rope and placed one foot in the foothold. She yanked the rope, initiating the pull mechanism. Quickly, she was pulled up until finally, she came to the chest of the mech. Rusti climbed inside of the cockpit, amazed at the amount of control panels that surrounded her. There were many more than the training mechs.

As the hatch to the cockpit closed, Rusti strapped herself into the seat, now pushing her SOUL module chip into the slot that was over her head. All the LCD screens lit up around her, displaying pictures of the outside environment. The system LCD switched on a flickered for a moment before a voice asked for her ID. Rusti promptly gave it, the OS system loading.

The hissing of hydraulics echoed in the auditorium-like hanger, scaring some of the maintenance crew who rushed around the hanger floor. Rusti felt herself jerked to the side as a strap-lift heaved the Phoenix MechAnima up from the ground and placed it on the launching cannon.

? Lieutenant Ophelia, come in!? a female voice in Rusti?s helmet echoed.
? Lieutenant Ophelia, reading you.?
? I?m assigned to you as your statistic observer from now on, Second Lieutenant Grear,? the voice said, it now gaining a name.
? Call me Rusti for simplicity sake.?
? Tari. Now, I?ve been informed that you have never launching using the catapult cannon before.?
? The what?!?
Rusti heard Tari sigh. ? When this mission is over, I suggest you read up on the protocols for launching. But for now, all you need to do is activate the skeleton of the MechAnima. The gravity lock will keep you on the cannon?s floor until you gain enough momentum to tear away from it.?
? Right.?

Rusti looked in front of her, drawing the visor down on her helmet. She typed furiously on the keyboard in front of her for a few moments before she felt the MechAnima jerk around, moving into the launching position.

? Done,? Rusti said through the intercom to Tari. She could hear typing from Tari?s end of the line.
? Now, you wait for authorisation from me. Once you have that, the lights in front of you, on the outside, should turn from red to green, launching your MechAnima into space. You have the all-clear. Good luck Rusti.?
Rusti smiled. ? I?ll do my best.?

The lights in front of her turned from red to green. The Phoenix MechAnima catapulted forward with a force similar to that of the force when launching a jet on Earth. Rusti could feel the gravity lock on the bottom of the mech lessening and finally, the large machine tore free of the cannon?s floor. Black stars appeared around Rusti, making her feel as if she was actually outside in space herself. Before her, she could see the light from the attacked ANGEL Wire station ahead. She veered the Phoenix mech to the side, out of the way of the launch cannon, waiting for the others to join her.

OOC: Sorry about writing a novel again.

Now, the important things you need in your next post.
1. Know who your squadron leader is and what the mission is.
2. Make sure you get your SOUL module from Professor Stian (if you?re air) or Professor Hastings (if you?re ground)
3. Get into your piloting suit.
4. Find out about your statistic observer (one is assigned to each of us ? make up your own).
5. READ THE UNDERGROUND POST ? for launching protocols and procedures (air and ground are different) and what the responsibilities of the squadron leaders are.

You can divide this HUGE post into two if you wish, but make sure you put something at the bottom of the post saying that you are dividing it into two.

Artek stepped forward, a grim look settling in his eyes. His scars stung in the cold air under his shirt, but he ignored it. He looked to Professor Stian.

"Yes, Blackfeather. This chip is the Eagle's SOUL module; it's been keyed to you. I hope your previous experience in the cock-"

A look from Artek silenced him and he nodded, handing the young pilot the white and gold chip. With that, Artek spun on his heel and marched off for the locker rooms. His eyebrow began to twitch. Nobody here should have known about his days in Wardog. Besides, flying a MechAnima was different from flying an F-15 Eagle. Wasn't it?

He suited up, hoping silently more of his past didn't come to haunt him. He exited the locker room, Jarek's weight once again settling on his shoulder. No words were exchanged between the two; Jarek never spoke before a mission. It was a tradition they shared.

Artek stepped into the hangar once again, pulling his flight helmet over his head and smirking. His suit made him feel like he was in armor, and the helmet suited him perfectly. The two chevrons on his shoulder ranks puffed him up a bit as he yanked on the Eagle's liftline. He glanced about the cockpit and chuckled, sttling his hands on the joystick. Instantly, any and all levity left his manner. He slotted in his SOUL module, giving his ID while the OS booted up.

A jerk told him he was heading for the catapult, and a second one told him the gravity lock was holding his MechAnima down. He shivered in anticipation. He hadn't flown a mission in years. The last time he'd been launched from a catapult had been his last day as the Wardog Squad Leader. He keyed open his comms, and instantly a male voice barked out.

"Lieutenant Blackfeather, report!"

He pressed the button at the side of his helmet, his microphone flaring to life in silence.

"Blackfeather, I read you."

"I'll be your statistic observer, Second Lieutenant Coburn."

"Thanks, Coburn. Call me Raven."

"Anytime, Raven, as long as you call me Blackjack."

The two chared a tiny chuckle as the catapult's tension cables began to straighten and Artek began to key in his MechAnima's skeleton's activation code. The Eagle entered launch position, and the LCD light in front of Artek blipped red.

"Raven, ready for launch."

Blackjack's voice came over the comms.

"Roger, Raven. You are cleared for launch."

The red light flashed green, and Artek felt the intense, familiar push of the catapult's insane G's press him into the seat. And suddenly, it was over. He was out. He keyed his comms open for his squadron, and barrel rolled over to fly in front of Rusti, slightly to her side.

"Hey, Rusti. Form up behind me, slightly to my right. I'll form up behind Charon. For the sake of the mission, I'm Raven. Stay alive."

With that, he fell silent, manipulating naturally the myriad controls at his fingertips. It was as though he were born to fly....

Clyne and Trysten released their grip on each other's hand as they sprung from their seats, snapping into a swift salute to Air Marshall Hagan. The five of them ran through the hallways, breaths labouring as they forced their bodies through the long path. Finally they reached the destination of the hangar and met with Professor Stian. During the entire time she couldn't help but stare at the giant machines they were supposed to pilot.

She patted Trysten on the shoulder, "I'll trust your judgements, Squadron Leader." she whispered with a smile.

Clyne was next after Artek and swallowed as she stepped forward, glancing back at Trysten. The professor smiled and held forth a navy blue chip. She plucked it from his palm and held it up, light glinting off the surface.

"Your assigned MechAnima is the Dragon, you may now pilot it."

She stared at the large grey dragon before pulling her eyes away, running to the female locker rooms to her locker where she fumbled with opening it, her mind in a whirl and excitement and adrenaline already starting to feed into her body. She pulled up the tight jumpsuit, tugging it into place until she was satisfied. Tucking the helmet under her shoulder she ran out of the change room as quickly as she'd entered, locking eyes with Trysten again as she continued her run over to the dragon.

Clyne took a moment to shove her helmet over her head, the feeling was just natural from practise as she stepped into the stirrup, yanking the cord to pull her up. She fell into the cockpit seat comfortably, playing with the controls before sliding her module SOUL into the slot and provided her ID quickly as the OS loaded, giving her vision of the outside. There was a crackling before a voice broke through in her helmet.

"Come in, Lieutenant Geiger." a male voice sounded through the helmet.

"Lieutenant Geiger, hearing you loud and clear." she responded.

"I'll be your statistics observer from now on, Second Lieutenant Clerval."

"That's cool. You can call me Clyne though." she grinned, jolting to the side as the strap lift wrapped around the MechAnima and lifted it onto the catapult cannon.

"Alright, then I'm just Cain."

Clyne pulled out a hidden keyboard, her fingers staring at one of the LCD screens as it changed to codes and numbers. Her fingers were a flurry against the keys as she input the activation code for the skeleton, shifting the MechAnima into a launch position, a red light infront of her.

"Clyne, ready for launch."

"Roger that, you're cleared for launch."

Beep. Beep. Beep. Dooot.

The light in front of her changed to green as the cannon shot her forward, being held to the cannon until she was ready, releasing her from its gravity hold and flinging her into space. Clyne loved to fly, she was born to fly and nothing about heights or dizziness bothered her. She could easily see two other MechAnimas in the sky, an Eagle and Phoenix, Artek and Rusti.

"Hey guys, let's get this show on the road." she grinned pulling near Artek which would mean she'd be on the other side of Trysten, who they would form behind.

"For the sake of the mission, I'm Raven." Artek said seriously.

Clyne shrugged and just replied affirmatively as they awaited the others to launch.
