Tekkaman
Have any of you on OB ever heard of www.pandora.com? It's a free music site where all you have to do is create an account to join. Your e-mail and your password is all you need to login afterwards. Then, when your done with the login, you can tell Pandora the name of the artist / song you like the most and Pandora will try to pull up what you wanted; Pandora will also pull up other songs you might like. The music site keeps track of the type of music you enjoy and plays other pieces that has the most [or many] similarity[ies] to the original music you picked out. In addition, you can choose what music you like and don't like so that Pandora can edit your musical preferences. The longer you stay on Pandora and choose what you like to listen to, the better Pandora can pick music you might like in the future. Anyway, this site is pure awesomeness and I suggest that others go take a look as well. Hey, you might like it [if you don't already have it, that is]. =]
2010DigitalBoy
i was waiting for this! Yesterday I checked out that radio station in the other thread and was like 'blech, pandora kicks this things ***' Pandora is great not just for the immense amounts of music, but because they have an enormous database of facts about them. You can find just about any band on this plane of existence and chances are you can learn something about them. It's fun and REALLy ewasy to use. DeadSeraphim
I've only ever used Pandora to get listening reccomendations. Otherwise I'm more than happy with the stat counters at Last.fm, kids.

Nothing against Pandora (it's definitely good for some nice music recommendations), but I don't care for listening to online music stations in general (Yahoo!, Last.fm's station, or whatever else). It's just far more convenient for me to pull out whatever I feel like listening to in my own collection. Pandora is pretty nice if you don't have tons of music available to listen to, though, I'll admit (or if you're somehow bored with all of the music that you do have). And, yes, I love stats too. Yay, Last.fm. :P
Goodbye, Face
None of the bands I listen to are on Pandora. Therefore, I hate it. Last.fm, baby!
silpheedpilot
Considering I listen to more techno in a week than most of you listen to music in a year I stick with di.fm. I did check out Pandora and its quite a little site, and the music recommendations aren't too bad either.

Unless you make a habit of listening to more than 15000 songs a week (Shinmaru's total for a year, recorded at Last.fm - I've managed almost 30000 and Kevin is getting up to 60000), your techno output a week doesn't approach the BMF in this thread.
Guest Roxey20
I love Pandora. It's great for finding new bands and often I end up buying the albums from bands I find on there. It's also nice when I'm at work and want to listen to something, but can't get to my own collection. I have so many stations saved on that thing. I hope there isn't some sort of limit.

You must be the coolest person ever because you listen to more music than everyone else. Not only that, but you have telepathic powers that let you know how many songs anybody listens to on any given day. Sweet! You listen to more music in a week than I listen to in a year... so if I listen to at least 4 hours of music a day, that means you listen to at least 1,456 hours of techno a week. Wow! Your music listening skills defy the very laws of the phsyics! Astounding!
Fyxe
I don't really like Pandora. I mean, whenever I create a radio station, the recommendations and new songs they come up with are utter crap. I mean, I made a station for Wheatus and they gave me Nelly Furtado. -__- They should be shot for that alone. I did, however, discover The Peels via Pandora, so I should give them a little credit. But, usually, they come up with nothing that suites my taste.
