He was standing by his door, watching as hundreds of people ran down the street. [i]Must be something big,[/i] he thought to himself. Deciding to find out what was happening, he exited his house.

Walking a short distance down the street, then taking a right turn, he stopped in shock. A huge purple portal had appeared, blowing dust, paper, and other small objects all around him and his surroundings.

From the portal came a laugh. Sinister, yet sexless. He had no idea who, or what, had made the sound, but he had a feeling he would find out. Getting his weapons ready, he watched as someone, or something, walked through the portal...
