"Renamon, keep an eye out for anything else, okay?" Brent asked. Renamon nodded, and leapt up into the trees. Brent sighed. Things were bound to get harder from here on out. The fact that they had been discovered by something didn't help. Brent was beginning to wonder about his choice to come here. Maybe things would have been better if he'd stayed back at home? Brent shook his head and sighed. No use in thinking about past decisions. He had to deal with the here and now. When Aesera got the group up to start moving, Brent hesitated a moment, but eventually got up and followed them. He still had no clue as to their trustworthiness...but they were in the same situation he was. He'd jsut keep an eye on them till they earned his trust. Renamon landed beside him.

"The coast seems to be clear. And I grabbed your back pack from where you dropped it." Renamon said, handing Brent his pack. He checked a couple of the pockets.

"And you already ate the tofu, I see." Brent said with a grin. Renamon stuck her tongue out at him and jumped back into the tree tops. Brent's thoughts eventually drifted back to the end of the fight. Their digivices had sort of...loaded the data of the Gazimon. Or had the data invaded the digivices? Maybe it was a last ditch attack to try and corrupt the devices? Brent looked down at his device. There was a possibility that this thing was corrupt and could lead to trouble. But in the legends of the digidestined, there had been no mention of the digivices getting corrupted as far as Brent could remember. "Maybe I'm overanalyzing things..." Brent muttered. He certainly hoped he was overanalyzing things. He turned his attention back to the group of people in front of him. He might as well figure out what they were like, since they were likely to be together for a while. He had to do something to get his mind off it's currently depressing track.

It had been 3 days since Jase and Bukamon had touched down in the digital world and things were already looking grim for the duo. They had lost their pack in a fury of Biyomon and the two were beginning to think that they would starve to death.

"I'm hungry," Bukamon moaned as his stomach let loud growl escape.

"Well, B, if you didn't have to attack every living thing that you see, then we wouldn't be in this mess." Jase huffed a response.

"I can hardly see how my excitement to see the digital world has anything to do with your losing the food," He barked back as he jumped from Jase's shoulder to walk along side him, "Besides, it's your fault for setting the bag on the ground and leaving it."

"My fault? You ran up and attacked those Biyomon. And for your information, I was washing off in the lake and I didn't expect for the Biyomon to steal the bag."

"Well that's what you get: Expect the unexpected. Apology accepted."

Jase thought about replying, but he decided that there was no arguing with Bukamon. In fact, the silent treatment would make him suffer even more. And just as he suspected, after only 30 seconds, Bukamon was forced to speak, although he changed the conversation.

"At least we found out a little about the digivice, right?" he asked earnestly

"Sure, no thanks to you!" Jase shouted, sending some of the bird digimon flying out of the treetops in fear, "That digimon was going to tell us everything we needed to know about the 'D-Lazer,' but then you had to come along and attack it."

"It's just not right for a stranger digimon to know that much. He was very suspicious--"

"The only thing that's suspicious is that you havn't gotten us killed." Jase interrupted.

After a short pause, Bukamon spoke, "At least we know that the digivice has three modes: Idle, Battle, and Mobile. I mean that's gotta be good for something, right?"

"I guess, but I was just about to find what we're supposed to use the crests for." Jase replied.

"Oh well, no use crying over spoiled milk."

"B, the analogy is 'spilled milk,'" Jase sighed

"Whatever," Bukamon retorted, looking up to the setting sun. "It's getting dark, we better find some place to sleep and fast."

Jase didn't argue. In fact, he'd been looking for a place to rest for the night for several hours. When all seemed lost and he thought they would have to camp in an open field, Jase and B walked over a hill to find a beautiful crystal lake with a small cave right next to it.

"Over there!" Bukamon pointed out, and after a bit of inspection of the cave, the two stopped to rest for the night building a fire to keep warm and boiling some water from the lake just in case.

Several hours had gone by, the sun now completely submerged beyond the horizon and the moon in its former place, and Bukamon lay asleep in Jase's lap as he stared blankly at the night sky, thinking that everything was worth it just to be able to come to the digital world; even losing his backpack and all thier food. Just then, he heard a twig snap at edge of the cave.

"Who's there?" Jase asked, standing up and waking Bukamon.

But before anyone could even answer, "BUBBLE BLOW!" Bukamon attacke at the shadows.

"Wait! Wait! We're friends!" was a quick response. Jase couldn't see who had given the reply, but he could tell it was a girl. "My name is Aesera, and we're all digidestined as well."

"We?" Jase asked

"Digidestined too!" Was Bukamon's only input.

"Yes, We." Aesera, said stepping into the light with several other people and digimon. "This is my digimon partner, Patamon..."

And all the proper introductions were exchanged between the group. After a short update on what all had happened to the digidestined and how they all got there, Aesera decided that it was best to get some sleep. Surprisingly, though, she herself wouldn't sleep for several more hours. Jase thought she was just keeping watch and regardless of all of his protests, she refused to sleep. So, the two digidestined, who had only just met a couple hours previously and were literally strangers, kept each other company until the sun rose.

Mia stayed awake for a while that night as Gabumon and all the others slept around her, Aresea and the one bot named Jase seemed to want to stay up all night. That didn't bother her to much, she was busy thinking.

'I can not believe I got the same digimon as Matt did when he came here, or so the storys say.'

She looked down at Gabumon sleeping soundly and let out a large yawn before rolling onto her side and slipping into a deep sleep herself. Morning came quickly ans as usual she was the first up and moving around in the dim light.
"I wonder what this place has to eat around here."
She began to search when she heard Aresea speak up from behind her.
"You shouldn't go alone."
"I'm hungry, my stomach says food now."
"And I'm saying we should stay togehter and wait till everyone else gets up unless you want to face the digital world on your own."
"Fine fine, what ever you say mother."

She flopped down onto the dirt and breathed in a sigh.
"This is boring."
"You've only been sitting for a few seconds."
"Yeah, and those few seconds were very boring ones."

She streched back and lay down on the cool ground behind her and decided to wait it out like she had been advised, but she made sure to make it clear that she was not happy about it.

The new arrival, Jase, thought that Aesera should get some sleep, but Aesera wasn't ready to do so. Jase seemed to think that she was keeping watch, but that was not the case. The cave she and the others had found was pretty well concealed, not something one was likely to find unless one was looking for it. So Aesera was taking the opportunity to think about all that had hapened, from finding the digivice to entering the digital world to the battle with the Gazimon to everything she'd learned from Patamon.

As she'd predicted, Aesera had a hard time accepting that she was in another world. Intelectually, she believed that she was, but it was just hard to accept. So she just sat there, thinking about everything, until she was able to accept that it was indeed hapening.

Aesera had other things to think about, but she decided to leave them for another time. She needed to get some sleep. "All right, I'm going to try and get some sleep now," she said to Jase. "You should, too. I'll want to be moving early. We were seen earlier today, and whoever saw us knew that we're humans. It could be a friend, but I'm not taking that risk. So we get moving early tomorrow, and get the hell away from here."

Aesera was the first one up the next morning, though Mia wasn't far behind. After convincing Mia not to go hunting for food on her own, Aesera opened up her pack and handed Mia some food. "This stuff tastes nasty," she told Mia, "but it's very filling."

"Thanks," Mia said.

"Thank Patamon, not me," Aesera replied. "He's the one who thought to bring it. And I've got quite a bit, hopefully enough to hold us until we can find a good food source in this world. This stuff's dense, so I've got a shitload of it stuffed in here. Makes me glad that my dad's as paranoid as he is."

Aesera took some more food out of the pack. She ate some herself, and divided the rest up for the others. If they didn't wake up soon, Aesera would wake them. And once everyone was awake and had eaten, they'd head out.

Merlin had stayed up quite late the night before, but nevertheless he was able to wake up fairly early the next morning. He was both a night person and a morning person; it was usually in the late morning or afternoon that he got tired. This was true of him, and even more true of Keramon. Keramon had pretty much stayed up all night. Meanwhile, the sky was still quite dim, as the sun had only just come up. Aesera, Mia, and Merlin were all awake at the very least, as well as most of the Digimon.

Merlin looked around as if keeping watch over the group. No suspicious action seemed to be taking place. No backpacks or Digivices were stolen, nobody was hurt, no Digimon were missing... Wait a minute, one Digimon was missing! Where was Keramon?
"Keramon?" Merlin whispered. Then he remembered that he didn't need to keep the others asleep, as they were supposed to wake up as well. So he spoke a little louder the next time.
"Keramon? Where are you?"
"Keramon's gone?" Aesera noticed Merlin looking around for Keramon. She glanced around as well, and no sign of Keramon.
"Weet a shekkund..." Patamon said through a mouthful of food, "Ah fai aroun go wook fo im." And though Merlin and Aesera had a tough time figuring out what Patamon said, he flew up and circled around the group, searching for signs of Keramon.

Is there any way to tell how Keramon is doing on this thing? Merlin thought as he took out his Digivice. But the buttons he pressed didn't give him much help--just a few random and meaningless screens of data.
If he got captured by an evil Digimon, then... what would happen? Would he be hurt, or worse, turned into data? I don't think he's in trouble... somehow I can sense it... but, oh, speaking of sense...
Merlin remembered something he heard about regarding psychic abilities, back when he was pursuiting information on the paranormal. He came across this one idea of "remote vision", which was the ability to see anything in the present time. Merlin knew that since this was a psychic ability, anyone could use it, but also that it is very difficult to use. Nevertheless, Merlin decided he would try. So then he closed his eyes and focused on Keramon. Only Keramon... nothing else. Every other thought he just acknowledged and left aside, to allow more focus on his Digimon partner. He could still feel the cool breeze about him, the gradually brightening sky, and the chatting of people and Digimon around him, but Keramon... where was...

"There he is!" This call from Patamon broke Merlin's concentration, so he opened his eyes and looked at Patamon. Patamon was pointing to a spot next to some trees, so Merlin looked in that direction...
"Sorry I'm late," Keramon said, panting slightly as he walked over to Merlin, carrying a sack of some sort.
"Hmm, let me guess," Merlin muttered as he wondered why Keramon was walking around away from the group. "You went to look for food, am I right?"
"Yes, you guessed it," Keramon answered. "I couldn't sleep anyways, so I decided I might as well walk around. I had quite an adventure, let me tell you! I saw a few strange-looking Digimon while I was walking. And do you remember that time during Halloween when those weird holes in the sky appear in the real world, and Digimon-ish creatures appear in them? I can swear that one of the strange Digimon I saw last night was one of them--the same one."
"Really?" Merlin exclaimed. "Well. One thing I heard was that Halloween was a time when the border between the physical and spiritual worlds was the weakest--which I thought was bogus because those two are actually harmoniously combined in life--but maybe it is also the time when the border between the real and digital worlds is the weakest. So I guess those strange Digimon I saw before are real!"
"It's too bad I never paid attention to what those Digimon are," Keramon apologized. "I almost didn't think they were Digimon."

The two contemplated this for a few moments when Aesera finally spoke.
"Well, Merlin..." she said, "that really is an interesting theory, I have to admit--about the strange Digimon. I never noticed those appearances during Halloween, though... Hm... anyways," and here she reached back into her bag, "would you like some..."
"No thanks," Keramon interrupted. "I got some here." And with that, he opened the sack he was holding. Inside were twelve or so fruit which resembled large cherries in colour and shape.
"I have to warn you though," Keramon continued. "Be careful around the seed, and if you see any red juice leaking out in the fruit, don't eat it. A Elecmon I met along the way said that red stuff is poisonous."
Curious, Merlin picked up one of these strange fruit and bit into it. It tasted very sweet and tasty, but it was weird because the fruit was black... And, there was a pit inside that felt kind of soft and was pinkish in colour.
This must be the source of the poison, Merlin thought as he examined the pit. Maybe I'll keep it in case of an emergency.

"I got enough berries for just about everyone," Keramon announced to the group.
"Showoff," Patamon mumbled, jealous that Keramon found better-tasting food than he did.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC: I included the berry thing because I just felt like it. I included the Halloween reference because today is Halloween. I included the psychic ability reference because... well, I can't give an accurate reason there... And yes, since psychic abilities utilize the electric fields around one's body (a.k.a. aura), anyone can use them. That's my lesson on the paranormal for the day. :)
"This stuff is delicious!" said Bukamon as he and Jase shared one of the strange berries that Keramon had brought back.
"Mmm---Hmm," Everyone replied in unison
Jase wasn't that hungry, though and after he slept a few more minutes while everyone finished their food, Bukamon brought him a few and Jase chowed down. He didn't know why he wasn't hungry or very tired lately. Maybe it's depression, he thought. But then he pushed the thought out of his mind because in fact this was the most alive he'd felt in a long time. Jase settled on the thought that he was just too excited in the digital world to have time for sleep of food.
"So, I guess it's time to move out. What do you guys say?" Aesera asked the group, as she packed up the last of her supplies.
Everyone agreed, and the group left their cave in the early morning to head back into the forest. As Jase and Bukamon walked a bit behind everyone else, side by side, Jase took the oppurtunity to examine his digivice and tag more closely. The few buttons he pressed were in vein; he couldn't figure out how to get the stupid thing to work and the most frustrating part was that there was a small, empty compartment that was impossible to solve what it was for.
"What are you doing?" Bukamon asked curiously as Jase gave up on the device and changed his attention toward the tag.
"I'm looking at this tag thing... It kinda looks like an anchor," He said almost entranced by the design.
"Well, it makes sense. We do live next to an ocean. And you are strong-willed. Your kinda like an anchor!" was Bukamon's input. But it was nothing that Jase hadn't come to expect from little B. In a way, his opinion got Jase to look at things in different ways.
The rest of the trip through the forest was relatively smooth. Mia only tripped once to be caught by Gabumon. They had been in the forest for what seemed like an eternity. Everyone was getting ready to stop and fall when Jase decided that he was going to rest, but just then:
"Look!" Brent pointed to a bright light at the edge of a forest. Jase pictured it as more of a light at the end of a long tunnel.
Thank God, we can get out of here, he thought
Just then, Jase heard something very faint off to the left not far from where the others were leaving the forest, "What is that," he asked.
"It sounds really familiar. Wait I know what it is. Isn't that the sound your watch makes when the alarm goes off. "
"But I left my watch in the back pack and the Biyomon..." Just then, he realized that his pack wasn't far away from him. "Come on, B! He shouted behind him, as he was already climbing a tree.
When the two reached the treetops, they were both occupied with the beautiful view. The sun was now high in the sky, but you could see just about everything in the digital world. It was all so peaceful and serene.
"What's that? Bukamon questioned as Jase picked up his pack and looked out to where Bukamon was pointing. Something was flying towards them very fast and it didn't look friendly!
"B, we should get back to the others now!" Jase demanded, a bit of urgency in his voice.
"No worries I can take him! Bukamon said, confidentally jumping from limb to limb across the treetops to meet this potentially strong and deadly enemy!
"B, Stop! Jase shouted, but it was too late. Bukamon was hit directly and if it hadn't been for Jase's inability to move freely from limb to limb, he would have caught Bukamon as he flew back through the forest towards a field where the rest of the group was.
Taking the short oppurtunity to look at the enemy while it was off guard, Jase saw that it was too odd to be a digimon. It had similarities: It looked like Angewomon, but it had one bird leg and her six wings were now similar to that of Birdramon's... This ins't possible, he thought, What is this?
Just then, the half Angewomon, half Birdramon digimon looked up at him with 6 dark, black eyes. As Jase stood frozen in fear, she smirked with amusement at this human's frail body.
Back on the ground, just outside the forest, Bukamon lay barely concious in Mia's arms. Aesera and Patamon had already ran into the forest but Brent, Mia, and their digimon stayed to look after B.
"What happened to you little guy?" Mia asked.
The only thing that Bukamon could even mutter was, "Jase," Just then, he felt something was wrong. Jason was in danger. He could die because of his stupidity. With all of his might, Bukamon tried to move; tried in vein to stand and go to his partner's help. And then something unlocked inside of B. His commitment to his friend was showing through in Bukamon's tears. Finally, Bukamon digivolved.
"'Bout time," was all he muttered as his body began to change shape right in Mia's arms. Bukamon became Syakomon and without wasting any time, he turned to Renamon, "Throw me!" was all he said. It seemed odd, but Renamon knew what Syakomon was intending.
"Right," she said. Renamon picked up Syakomon in one arm and Gabumon jumped on her back. In one great display of strength, Renamon leapt into the air, over the treetops of the forest with Syakomon and Gabumon.
Once in the air, they could see the hideous being that was a cross between Birdramon and Angewomon. It was revolting and just as they had time to lay eyes on the creature, it charged for Jase. Patamon had just emerged from the treetops, slightly flying and Aesera was obviously somewhere just behind. All at once, Renamon threw Syakomon, Gabumon jumped off of her back, and all four (Syakomon, Renamon, Gabumon, and Patamon) attacked in a flurry of anger and desperation.
The attack would never have succeeded on it's own, but Aesera had also pulled Jase's legs and he painfully fell, barely avoiding the creature's attack, toppling through the branches on his way to the ground. While the attack wasn't very affective, it managed to keep Jase alive and only his tag necklace was cut, sending it free-falling to the ground seperate from himself. Merlin was at the trunk of the tree and Jase landed with at 'thud' on top him and his digital partner.
"You alright," Adam asked, helping Jase and Merlin up, "That was a pretty nasty fall."
Jase didn't even have time to mutter a thanks to Adam or an apology to Merlin and Keramon. He was too busy looking for his tag with the anchor on it. When he finally found it it was about 10 feet from where he fell. He picked it up and noticed something strange: The anchor design was pushed over to the right slightly and a side of it was hanging out. At first, Jase thought he'd broken it, but then he pulled and the 'crest' slid out smoothly. He examined the crest more carefully and then he had an idea. He pulled out his digivice and saw a similar compartment to that of the tag and he slid it inside.
The center of the digivice opened where there was once a black screen with a grid on it and the other side, one that Jase didn't even know existed, opened to reveal a black glove that was connected to the digivice. Suddenly all of this was making more sense. He took the digivice and ran out into the clearing, Just in time to see all four of the digimon that had saved his life come crashing to the ground from that "Andramon," as Jase now called it. All of those that re-entered the forest, exited just behind Jase and all of the digidestined were staring at him blankly, wondering if he'd discovered anything about the digivice.
"Everyone," he shouted so they could all here, "It's the Tags, the crests slide out of them and into the digivices!
At this, everyone started fumbling around in their pockets and bags for their digivices and around their necks for their crests and tags. "You want a fight? Well you got one now!" Jase muttered to himself. And the battle was on.
 • 3 weeks later...
"Right. Renamon, let's show 'em a trick or two!" Brent said, sliding his crest into his digivice.
"Yeah!" Renamon said, jumping up out fo the tree tops again behind the demented Digimon. "Diamond Storm!" She exclaimed, trying to catch it off guard. While it didn't entirely succeed, it distracted it. As Renamon fell back towards the ground she drew her paw back. "Power Paw!" She exclaimed, pushing the thing downwards a little, leaving it's back open to attack as it guarded against Renamon's attack. On the ground, Brent was watching his Digivice carefully as information began scrolling across it. He didn't have a clue what half of it meant. Renamon landed with a thud next to Brent. "Now!" She shouted. The other Digimon sprang into action, attacking the wierd Digimon. "Got any more smart ideas?" Renamon asked Brent.
"Gimme a sec..." Brent muttered. "Try hitting the thing at the same time as another attack." Brent suggested.
"Alright." Renamon said, leaping back into the fray with another Power Paw attack.
OOC: Yay, finally!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So that's what the crest does, Merlin thought, examining his own crest. But what is this crest? It looks sort of like a target, but what could that mean? Accuracy? Power? Hmm...

When Merlin inserted the crest into his Digivice, the screen said "Crest of Harmony: Detected", and a black glove popped out from the bottom. Curious, Merlin put his hand inside the glove, feeling like this was something out of a weird space fiction. But when he did so, the screen on the Digivice glowed, and a second later Keramon did so too.
"What's going on?" Merlin asked the Digivice.
The screen said it all. Keramon was shown on it, and a voice inside the Digivice spoke.
"Executing Digivolution."

"Keramon Digivolve to..."
Keramon grew in size, though not by much, and a cape, hat, and wand appeared around him.
"...Wizardmon!"
"Oh!" Merlin grew wide-eyed--here was his favourite Digimon standing right in front of him, and his own Digimon partner!

Some of the other Digidestined were wide-eyed as well.
"How did you get Keramon to Digivolve without fighting?" Jase asked Merlin.
"It must be putting on this glove that does it..." Merlin answered, still in awe. Then he made a fist so as to prevent the glove from falling off--he feared that if it did, Wizardmon would become Keramon again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC: Look in the Underground thread and you'll see that putting the glove on allows your Digimon to Digivolve to Champion level.
"I thought that's what you were planning," Keralamon said. She had ben tracking the traitors for a while now, following mainly BlackAgumon, who it seemed was in charge of the logistics of their plan. By shadowing him, Keralamon had learned what the tratiors were planning, and she'd identified what seemed to be all of them. Others of Her forces were currently moving against the various traitors. Keralamon, meanwhile, had followed BlackAgumon to another of his meetings. This time, he'd met with two Tyrannomon and a SkullGreymon. He seemed to be confirming details in preperation to begin the operation, not knowing that the operation had already been compromised. The other traitors were being dealt with; this group was Keralamon's.
It hadn't been much of a battle. Keralamon had taken the enemy by surprise, and she'd already had an advantage over her oponents. An ultimate and two champions wasn't hard for her to take out, even if they knew she was coming, which this group hadn't. Both Tyrannomon had gone down before they could react, leaving only BlackAgumon and SkullGreymon. BlackAgumon, too weak to be of use in a figth, had tried to escape as SkullGreymon faced off against Keralamon. Unfortunately for him, SkullGreymon hadn't lasted long enough to allow him to get away, and Keralamon hadn't had much trouble catching up to him. She was currently holding him up against the side of a building, and she'd promised to let him live if he answered your questions.
"I thought you'd have figured it out," BlackAgumon told Keralamon. "If you've been folowing me, then you've certainly gotten enough information to do so."
"I actually didn't get as much as I'd have liked," Keralamon admitted. "You were a tough one to follow. Still, I learned enough to figure out that your plan was to try and kill our leader. The presence of rookies such as yourself told me that you weren't going to simply turn and fight against us. You clearly had some kind of plan. As I followed you and learned who all was part of your group, I saw that your force wasn't strong enough for any kind of direct attack, and I also saw how dedicated you all were to ending our efforts. With your low force level, killing our leader was the only thigk you could hope to pull off that might have the desired effect. But in the end, you didn't get away with it."
"No shit," BlackAgumon replied. "Any other questions?"
Keralamon shook her head. "No, I've gotten all I need out of you. All I didn't know was a couple of the individuals you identified as being involved in your plan. I'm done with you."
"So, what will you do with me? Kill me?"
"No, I'm not going to kill you. You told me what I wanted to know, so I'll let you live. I won't be letting you go, however. No, I'm taking you to my boss. We'll see what he decides to do with you."
"Everyone," Jase shouted, "It's the Tags, the crests slide out of them and into the digivices!"
Thanks to Patamon, Aesera'd already known that the tags and crests were seperate items, that the crests could be removed from the tags. But the old digivices hadn't had slots for the crests. The old digidestined's crests had simply needed to be in the tags in order to work. However, the digivices of the first and second groups of digidestined had been different, so it wasn't surprising that the digivices Aesera and the others had were different from any of the old digivices. It simply meant that Aesera hadn't known that the crests needed to be inserted into the digivices.
Aesera quickly removed her crest from the tag and inserted it into her digivice. The screen displayed the text, "Crest of Order: Detected," and the digivice popped open. A glove came out, but Aesera'd seen Merlin put his on, so she knew what would happen. And she wasn't ready to have Patamon digivolve quite yet.
"Patamon," Aesera asked her partner, "any idea just what the hell that thing is?"
"I've never seen or heard of anything like it before," Patamon replied. "It looks like some sort of combination of Birdramon and Angewomon, but not a DNA digivolution-type combination like the second group of digidestined used. I don't know what it is."
"Well, let's call it 'Andramon', since it looks like a combination of Birdramon and Angewomon. You ready to enter the battle against that thing?"
"I'm ready," Patamon replied.
"All right, then. Just be careful. I'm going to guess that our opponent is ultimate-level, based on the whole Birdramon-Angewomon thing. And even after digivolution, you'll only be at champion. I don't know how to get you to ultimate, so you'll be weaker than your opponent. So be careful out there." And with that, Aesera put her hand in the glove, triggering Patamon's Digivolution to Airdramon.
That's interesting, Aesera thought as Airdramon flew into battle. I wasn't expecting Airdramon. I wonder what determines what a Digimon digivolves into? Well, no time to think about that now. Right now, we've got this Andramon thing to worry about.
As Airdramon entered the battle against Andramon, Aesera was examining her digivice. It was likely that the digivice could perform new functions in its opened-up state. Perhaps there was something that would be of use in the battle.
Because Aesera was focusing on her digivice, she didn't notice what was happening in the battle, and so was barely able to get out of the way in time when Airdramon came crashing into the ground. Andramon was in the air above him, and it was obvious that she'd knocked Airdramon to the ground. Now she was ready to finish Airdramon off. Aesera, however, wasn't going to just stand around and let that happen.
Aesera had found something on her digivice. She clearly remembered the battle with the Gazimon that had happened right after meeting the others. In particular, she remembered what had hapened at the end of the battle, how the Gazimon had dissolved into data, which had entered everyone's digivices. And that data, it seemed, could be utalized for some purpose. Aesera's digivice was displaying the text, "Set: Gazimon. Number remaining: 4. Execute?", and below this were labels for yes and no.
Airdramon was attempting to take off again, but Andramon wasn't going to give him enough time to do so. She raised her arm into the air, and something that looked like some sort of hole appeared above her. Streams of fire came out of it and circled around Andramon's arm. The hole (or whatever it was) closed, and Andramon pointed her arm towards Airdramon, shouting "Heaven's Flame!" The fire shot towards Airdramon in a concentrated blast, and would hit before Airdramon could get away. There was only one thing that Aesera could do. She didn't know if it would work, but she didn't have any other ideas. She hit the button her digivice had marked as the 'yes' button.
Suddenly, Airdramonexperienced a brief speed boost, allowing him to get out of the way of Andramon's attack in time. Aesera's digivice was now displaying, "Gazimon data used. Remaining: 3. Use another?", with the same yes and no labels below it. Suddenly, Aesera realized what had happened. She remembered how agile the Gazimon were when she and the others fought them. And her digivice and collected the data that the Gazimon and turned into. What she'd done with her digivice was send a Gazimon data packed to Airdramon, giving Airdramon a temporary boost in accordance with the abilities of Gazimon, specifically their agility.
Airdramon was now in the air again, firing attacks at Andramon. Andramon dodged some of them, but others hit. The hits didn't seem to hurt Andramon too much, though.
"Airdramon could use some help up there," Aesera said to the others. "You've seen how to get your Digimon partners t o digivolve, so hurry up and do it!"
Andramon faced Airdramon, and her wings began to glow red. "Wing Blaze!" Andramon shouted as streams of fire emerged from her wings and shot towards Airdramon. Airdramon managed to dodge most of them, but not all of them. A few of the streams him, but Airdramon was still all right. Clearly, Wing Blaze was a weaker attack, its advantage being that it was much harder to dodge.
Airdramon, Aesera knew, wouldn't last much longer on his own. Fortunately, he wouldn't have to. The others were not using their digivices, and their Digimon partners were digivolving to their champion-level forms. It's on now, Andramon, Aesera thought. Let's see just how tough you are.
"Airdramon could use some help up there," Aesera said to the others. "You've seen how to get your Digimon partners to digivolve, so hurry up and do it!"
Brent fumbled around for a moment before finding the glove. He slipped it on, and Renamon digivolved into Kyuubimon. "Alright, let's go!" Brent yelled. Kyuubimon jumped back up, starting to spin.
"Dragon Wheel!" She shouted, turning into a wheel of blue flames and charging down Andramon that was keeping Airdramon pinned down. Kyuubimon struck Andramon in the side, and landed down on the ground on all fours before running out of sight under some other trees as Andramon whipped around. "Fox Tail Inferno!" Kyuubimon cried, nine fireballs launching up through the canopy top and generally missing Andramon and going wide. As some of the branches were burned away revealing where the fire had been launched from. Kyuubimon was no longer there.
"That's it, Kyuubimon. Use your agility to your advantage. Keep 'er guessing!" Brent yelled out, glancing over his digivice. He'd seen the burst of speed Airdramon had gotten when Aesera had hit a button. But he didn't know which one. He glanced back to the battle to see Andramon getting ready to fire off her Wing Blaze again. "Watch it Kyuubimon, she's gonna attack!" Brent warned. As Andramon fired off her Wing Blaze, nine fireballs came out of the forest and canceled out a couple of the streams of fire. The others hit the forest, lighting it on fire, and a couple hit Kyuubimon knocking her down.
OOC: I don't remember exactly what the Magical Game attack does, but I guess I'll improvise on that...
IC:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So Gazimon data makes a Digimon faster, Merlin realized as he looked at Aesera and Airdramon. But we didn't defeat any Gazimon, so we have no data. I guess it's all heart that will aid us here...
Merlin looked at Wizardmon and smiled. He felt a great surge of hope and belief inside him--he felt like he really cared about his newly Digivolved partner. There was even a split second when he thought he felt like he was wearing Wizardmon's hat, cape, and gloves--even holding his sun-topped wand.

Merlin remembered what happened to Wizardmon back in the days of the first Digidestined. When VenomMyotismon was about to destroy the Digidestined girl Kari, Wizardmon protected Kari but was destroyed himself in the process. And now, Wizardmon was Merlin's Digital partner, and was up against a weird fusion of Birdramon and Angewomon. In fact, at first he felt reluctant to fight--weren't Birdramon and Angewomon partners of the original Digidestined? Yet now, Merlin had to be sure that this hybrid was the bad guy--er, girl--this time. So he instead focused on the battle, trying again to imagine the sensation of being Wizardmon.

"Electro Squall!" Wizardmon announced as he fired a wave of electrical sparks from his wand towards the "Andramon". Andramon flew up to dodge it, but fortunately, Wizardmon had aimed for a spot just above Andramon in anticipation. As a result, the attack hit Andramon's right wing, stunning it a bit. Andramon flopped around in the air for a while then landed on the ground.
"Heaven's Flame!" Andramon started summoning the same flame blast she had used on Airdramon, except this time she was aiming at Merlin.

Wait a minute, Merlin noticed, why is she aiming at me? Is it my imagination or...
"Magical Game!" Wizardmon attacked again. It wasn't really an "attack" though--more like a disguise. For puffs of smoke enveloped himself and Merlin. Then as quickly as it had appeared, the smoke vanished, and three Wizardmon hats were standing on the ground in its place. Andramon looked at this and grinned slightly.
"One of those contains you," she muttered, "another contains your partner, and another contains... well that doesn't matter. Fire!"

Andramon fired the attack at last, to the hat closest to her. There was a blaze of flame, and all of the hats vanished. Wizardmon emerged from the flames unharmed, but Merlin wasn't so lucky. He had happened to be in the hat that Andramon attacked, so he came out burned by the flame attack.
"I don't blame you..." Merlin winced, not regretting this at all. "It was a risky move. And it's a good thing... it wasn't you... that got hit."
Standing up only made Merlin feel more agitated, so he sat down and leaned against a tree. Again he checked his right hand--the Digivice was still intact.

Wizardmon looked back at Merlin, feeling sorry for him. He just hurt his friend with an attack that was meant for the enemy.
"Just keep on fighting!" Merlin instructed. "As long as you can still feel my presence, and I yours... then all will be fine between us."
Wizardmon turned to face Andramon again, but he couldn't help taking occasional glances back at Merlin to see if he was all right.

OOC: Sometimes in these battles, I like to hurt my own character... so this is nothing new... :p

**By the way, Electro Squall is one of Wizardmon's attacks, even if the Digidex I looked at doesn't say so. Wizardmon has it in Season 4 of the anime, in the episode where J.P. becomes Beetlemon for the first time.

Kyuubimon dodged back into the foliage after Wizardmon hit Andramon, keeping the Digimon from hitting Kyuubimon with her attack. Andramon focused on Wizardmon and his partner. Brent noticed her aiming for Merlin, and tried to shout out an order to Kyuubimon but Wizardmon used his Magical Game attack. Andramon attacked the hat nearest her, setting it into a blaze and injurin Merlin.

"Kyuubimon!" Brent shouted. Kyuubimon jumped out of the foliage to land near Brent. Brent quickly hopped on. "We need to go get Merlin!" Brent told her.

"Right. Hang on for a moment." Kyuubimon advised before dashing off. She came to a sudden halt in front of Merlin and spread her nine tails. "Fox Tail Inferno!" She said launching the fireballs over Brent's head. Becasue she ahd a clear shot this time, most of the hits struck true. Brent jumped off to help Merlin on. As he turned around, helping Merlin up and careful of his burns, Andramon had freed herself of the others for a moment and was taking aim at them.

"Go!" He yelled, grabbing onto Kyuubimon's ribbon and jumping on as she began to run. He made it on somewhat awkwardly and hit the yes button on his digivice, giving Kyuubimon a temporary boost in speed.

"Damn it," Aesera swore as Andramon's attack started fires in the forest. "We need to deal with those fires, or else this whole forest will burn down with us in it."

"Don't worry about that. We're on it."

Aesera looked to see that it was Adam who'd spoken. His partner, Impmon, was not with him, and Aesera assumed that Impmon had digivolved and joined the batle. "What are you going to do?" Aesera asked Adam.

"Actually, my partner's doing it," Adam replied. "He digivolved into IceDevimon, so I told him to go deal with the fires. I don't think he was happy about the task, but he's doing it."

"Good," Aesera said. "It doesn't matter if he doesn't like the job, as long as it gets done. If this forest burns down, odds are we won't live through it. So tell your partner that he kept us all alive. Maybe that'll make him feel better about it."

With the fire issue under control, Aesera returned her focus to the battle. She was startled to see Andramon aiming for Merlin, and not his partner. Then, Wizardmon attempted to throw off Andramon, but it didn't work so well, and Merlin was injured by Andramon's attack. Brent and Kyuubimon moved in to get Merlin out of harm's way, but Andramon had no intention of letting them get away. She took aim at them and attacked with Heaven's Flame, but Brent used Gazimon data to give Kyuubimon a speed boost, allowing Kyuubimon to avoid the attack.

Andramon turned her attention to Wizardmon, but before she could do anything, Airdramon came swooping in, weaving through the trees. "Wing Cutter!" he shouted as he flew past Andramon, slicing her with a suddenly hardened wing before flying higher again. Wizardmon took advantage of the opening Airdramon gave him and attacked Andramon with Electro Squall. Kyuubimon was next, runing back into the batle after droping off Brent and Merlin. She hit Andramon with Dragon Wheel, and then IceDevimon, done putting out fires, joined the batle, hitting Andramon from behind with Frozen Claw. Andramon avoided the folow-up attacks and moved so that all of her opponents were in front of her.

"Not bad," Andramon said. "In fact, I'm impressed. I didn't think you'd be able to put up a fight. But this battle isn't done yet."

Andramon crossed her arms over her chest, and suddenly her entire body became covered in fire. She opened her arms and thrust them foward, shouting, "Fury of the Flames!" The fire shot forwards in a concentrated blast. Everyone avoided the blast, but that wasn't all there was to Andramon's attack. Instead of passing everyone by, the blast exploded into multiple smaller blasts. Many hit Andramon's unsuspecting targets, while the few that didn't ended up hitting nearby trees, lighting them on fire. IceDevimon promptly went to work putting the fires out. Airdramon, still high in the air, was the only one who managed to avoid Andramon's attack.

"Not bad," Aesera said to Andramon. "But don't think you've seen everything we've got, either." Aesera knew that Airdramon was swooping in from behind Andramon, but Andramon was unaware of this fact. When she judged the time to be right, Aesera sent another Gazimon data packet to Airdramon, boosting his speed. This added force to his Tail Whip attack, which he hit Andramon with from behind before rising into the air again.

"Okay, I think we're wearing that thing down," Aesera said to the others. "Let's take her out. Don't finish her off, though. We should question her once we take her down."

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Jase replied. "I'd like to know just why she's attacking us. So yes, let's question her after the battle."

Aesera nodded. "Yes. Okay, everyone, let's take that bitch down!"

 • 4 weeks later...
Kyuubimon whimpered a little at the pain of Andramon's attack. And now they weren't allowed to delete the annoying thing. Nothing but a security risk. And from the frown on Brent's face, he agreed but wasn't willing to say anything. "Brent?" Kyuubimon asked.

"We'll do it their way for now. We'll jsut have to be watchful of her. Stick with Dragon Wheel for now, it deals more damage. When she starts getting weakened, use your Fox Tail Inferno, got it?" Brent asked. She nodded.

"Got it. I'll be right back!" She told him, dashing off back into the fight. Brent turned back to Merlin.

"I think I've got a first aid kit somewhere in my bag so that we can treat those burns." Brent said.

OCC- Jeez sorry for not posting... I will try to be more active here Cap'n Takuya!!! And Lt. Darren!!!

------------------------------------------

Adamu and Impmon appeared a little late but no so late as to not take a scetch of the battle. After he was finished he notice Impmon had started runing in.

"Wait Impmon!" yell Adamu.

Impmon ignored the words Adam spoke and kept running at the battle. "Bada Boom!" he yelled firing a little ball of fire at Andramon. "Let's go big guy!"

Adam put down his notebook and ran after Impmon.

Andramon saw the little purple Digimon attacking him and fired a attack at him. Adam grabbed Impmon and rolled out of the way.

"Damn You little..." said Adam.

Impmon was pushing him off. "WHat are youdoing?!"

"He would have blasted you you little idiot. I wasn't going to let my annoying little buddy get blasted!"
