Alexia balled her hands into a fist, ultimately turning her eyes near blood red. She rushed forward and tackled a world police into what was left of a cement side walk. His laser pistol flew across the road as Omega slammed one partially hairy, partially torn flesh covered foot where the officer once stood. She rolled gracefully away from the man and back onto her feet.

?Chase Tell mother that it has begun.? Alexia roared above the titan?s frustrated scream.

?Yes, my master.? He bowed his head and with a cloud of smoke vanished.

Alexia looked up at the titan that was now approaching her, the other officers still firing away unsuccessfully. The man she had tackled was now getting to his feet, urine running down the side of his leg.

?What is that thing? ? the man screamed.

?Omega.? Alexia said firmly, standing her ground. The thick red scars on her hands pulsing with every beat of her heart.

?Omega?? the man questioned as he began to stumble backwards.

Alexia turned directly away from the titan. She looked the man straight in the eye with pure disgust. ?Do you mean to tell me that you do not know of the titans and the war between the Gods and Star??

?Titans?? the man stuttered.

Omega roared. Alexia turned around to see the hideous monster raising both leather hands up over his head. He drew them down with a force that would have knocked a normal human back before even reaching them and crashing them into the ground. Alexia drew herself towards the ground, bending her knees. The titan slammed his fist into the pavement. A cloud of smoke rose into the air, but his attempt to crush the young girl was futile, she had leapt into the air just above his head. He did, in fact, knock the world police officer over ultimately killing the man after he landed on the curb with his head.

Alexia held her arms out as she flipped backwards in mid air to land softly behind the titan. The other officers still continuing their attempts to bring it down with their pistols.

?That won?t work,? she said simply after landing, crouching towards the ground with one hand in between her legs to keep her balance. ?That?s Dontae?s creation, no mortal man could defeat him.?

?Bob, get that girl out of here.? an officer announced.

The other turned and began to approach her. She did a series of sumersaults away from him and watched as Omega drag his fist down on top of them, crashing them like insects.
?My master,? Chase appeared next to Alexia, nearly standing on her shoulder. ?Your mother requests that you come home admittedly.?

?For what purpose? I am needed here.?

?Forgive me, my master,? Chase bowed. ?But the lady of the house has said that, though you may be well trained and the strongest in the family, you cannot defeat the titan alone.?

?Do you mean to tell me she is summoning the others?? Alexia jumped back again as Omega began his pursuit of her again.

?I could not tell you, my master. That is all she has required of me.? he bowed lower as though he was ashamed of his lack of information.

?Take me home.?

?Yes, my master.? Chase landed on Alexia?s shoulder, closed his eyes and transported them to the mansion on the far edge of the city. Its massive structure sat on two hundred acres of land all of it concealed from the public.

Chase had transported them into the middle of the mansion, just below the main stair well. Alexia quickly made her way towards the back of the mansion, calling for her mother. The place was busy with servants and family members dancing about her. Alexia eventually found her mother in the large study that sat at the farthest northern point of the house. As Alexia entered, her mother closed the screen that had been used to communicate with one of the other families.

?My lady mother,? Alexia laid her hands at her sides and bowed at the waist, rising before her mother acknowledged her.

?Alexia, my daughter, speak true. Does the titan Omega roam the city as we speak?? Her mother was fair with blood red hair and emerald green eyes. She had powered soft skin with rosey cheeks and flush red lips. Her figure was slim and slender with a handful front and behind. She was currently dressed in a silk dress of fine green. It hang off her frame with an elegance Alexia could never pull off.

?I would never falsely bring the titans into whatever story I may tell, Mother.? Alexia spoke with bitterness, though she knew she would be repremanded for it.

?This is a sad day, dear Alexia.? Her mother?s head fell. ?Even after the passing of your father.? Her mother allowed a few tears to roll down her cheeks and splash against the large wooden desk before her.

?Have you sent for the others?? Alexia had placed her hands behind her to keep her mother from seeing the scars. Even though her mother knew that it was not Alexia?s fault she had these scars, but her destiny to have them, the woman still did not like to see them. They were a reminder of the curse she and her husband had passed down upon her.

?I have,? she brought her head up again. She looked into her beloved daughter?s eyes watching the flickering red light dancing about them. ?You know what must be done.?

Alexia?s eyes flashed brought red and her scars pulsed with the same intense flash. ?Aye. I have waited this day a long while, Mother.? Alexia fell to one knee, throwing her hands before her. The black sleeves of her shirt flying up her arms. Hideous scars spiraled around from the around her fingers straight up her arms. Thick and plentiful, but not enough to cover her whole skin. She looked like a body builder that had over done themselves, but without the muscles. If one were to have removed her shirt and pants they would find that the scars danced about her whole body, all except for her fair face.

Alexia?s mother turned away, squeezing her eyes shut to keep the tears from flooding down her face. She reached into the desk, feeling the other six pendants beside Alexia?s laying perfectly station in the drawer. Her daughter?s was not hard to find and the first one she ran her slender fingers over. She pulled the smooth sapphire stone and chain from the drawer, holding it before her eyes. Alexia did not turn away from the gem.

?My dear, beloved daughter. My only offspring that survived the poision of my uterus and bitterness of this human air. Giving you this sapphire means you may never go back. That you may...? her mother trailed off, swallowing hard.

?That I may never know the joys of the touch of flesh again,? Alexia nodded. ?I have known my Fate and I except it.?

Her mother sighed heavily, sliding her chair back from her desk. Standing, the woman of such grace and beauty approached her daughter, a piece of the silver chain in each hand. How was mother to condemn her own child to this fate?

Alexia looked up at her mother, her eyes dancing with the wonderful dread that was her fate. Her mother slid the chain over her daughter?s head and watched as the sapphire slid down onto Alexia?s chest. A bright light eminated from the stone and then vanished. Alexia?s mother nodded her head and Alexia pulled the collar of her shirt down. The stone had set into her tender flesh just above her heart. This was now her life source, her power. The power of the God of Fate. Alexia?s scars had turned a bright red like the streak in her hair. She stood proudly, approached the desk that her mother had sat at, picked it up with one hand and crushed it between both.

?You may only touch that which can handle your touch until you learn to control it. But no flesh on this planet can withstand the heat that flows through your body. Your touch is deadly when your...?

?Scars??

?Yes, when they and your eyes pulse with the fiery that is of the soul that has been forgotten.?

Alexia saw that her mother could no longer hold back her tears. They began to flow down her face in streams of emotional turmial. She wanted to embrace her mother and tell her that it was alright, that it was not her fault. ?Fate choose me, Mother. I am not ashamed of what I am, and you should not be either. I will await for the others and usher them one by one to you.?

Alexia held her self high as she walked out of the room, feeling her soul surge with relief and sadness all at once. Chase appeared momentarily afterwards with leather gloves for Alexia to put on. Now all of her scars were covered.

Eve ran down the deserted street and pulled a sharp turn round the corner to see a man beating a woman against the wall.

?Jeremy! Stop, please, can?t you hear me hunny? Stop! Someone help!?

Eve raced toward the man, tackling him to the ground and cracking his skull hard on the pavement. There was a sick squishing noise like bone penetrating soft meat, then silence.

The woman rushed over and pushed Eve aside, laying her head on the man?s chest.

?You killed him,? she whispered in disbelief, ?you killed my son.?

Something resembling a large black worm oozed from the crack in his skull

?No, I didn?t kill ?im, that did.?

Eve turned and walked away.

-------

?What do you mean you have to pack? You just got in, don?t you want to at least sleep a little first baby??

Eve was half-absorbed in the closet, throwing articles of clothing over her shoulder. ?Zech, Im sorry, but ya I ?ave ta leave as soon as possible. Things are goin on, bad things, and??

He sighed and ran a frustrated hand through shaggy brown hair, leaning in her doorway ?I know, I know. Where are you going??

?New York.?

?Then I?m goin with you.?

Eve sat up and looked at him though disheveled strands of blond. ?Are you sure??

?Yeah. Look, my parents have a loft in Manhattan, moms been begging me to come back and visit for over a year now.?

Eve stood and went to him, burying her face in the warmth of his neck ?you?re a great catch babe, ya know that??

Zech turned slightly and kissed her forehead, running a hand through her hair. ?Well, I?d better go throw a shirt, hoodie and pair of jeans in a bag and get us some plane tickets.?

Faith rubbed against her leg and purred

"Don't worry, you're goin too"
-----------------------

Eve stretched and dragged her carry on behind her. She had slept the whole way over curled in Zech?s arms and now was having issues walking and un-cramping. The taxi had dropped them off in front of a large mansion just outside the city. Eve led the way up the stairs and into the large echoing front hall, Faith, free from her cage walked in beside her. A girl not much younger than herself with black hair with a streak of violent red came over to them.

?Welcome, please, leave your things here and go into the room to my right, we?ve been expecting you.?

Cole walked into her apartment and gathered a few things, patting her dog on the head she left a note for her roomate and made her way to the airport where she bought a plane ticket to New York. She arrived and felt the hair on the back of her neck prickle and she shivered slightly. She walked down the sidewalk till she came upon a large hotel and walked in. She got a room and rode the elevator to the top and went to her room where she looked out the window.

'What now? Where do I go from here?'

She put her hand on the window and pulled it back quickly as a bright flash and an explosion went off right under her hand. She felt tears well up in her eyes as if she were responsible. She turned from the sight knowing that it wasn't her fault but she hated it anyway. She turned away from the window and slumped to the floor knowing that whatever it was was to powerful for her to take care of. She brought her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them putting her chin ontop of her knees she sat there like that for the longest time.

The soft light of dawn glowed on the horizon. Kyne looked up at the white morning light, his trench coat swishing from side to side as he walked down the gangway to a small jet. A crow was perched on his shoulder, digging its taloned toes into his coat softly, trying not to pierce the material.

? Mayon?? Kyne started.
The crow, with its dark beady eyes, looked down at his master. Yes?
? Go to Amelia. Tell her that I?m going away for a long while, and I might not come back.?
Are you sure you want to say that to her? You know her fragile condition.
? Mayon,? Kyne growled disapprovingly.
The crow ruffled its wings. Very well.

With that, it took off, heading towards the mountain-side mansion that Kyne?s family lived in. Kyne watched the bird for a while before the pilot of the plane beckoned for Kyne to get onto the plane, otherwise he wouldn?t make it to New York on time. He nodded his thanks to the pilot as he boarded the plane, taking a seat on the right hand side. Over the intercom, the pilot told the staff, and the only passenger, to buckle up.

Kyne did so, staring out of the window as the high-pitched whistling sound of the engines grew louder. In the front of the plane, the pilot asked for clearance for take off and was promptly given it. The plane wheeled around and headed towards the runway. A large passenger plane landed in front of them, making the smaller jet shake. It moved out across the larger runway, to the smaller one, and waited until the sky was clear.

The pilot moved the accelerator shaft up to full as the powerful engines kicked in and the small jet lurched forward. A rush of adrenaline coursed through Kyne?s body as an excited smile thinned his lips. He loved flying, especially take off. Soon enough, they were in the air, flying over Sydney and the harbour, heading out towards the Pacific Ocean.

Suddenly Kyne felt a tight grip upon his shoulder again. Mayon, the crow, had returned using a transport spell.
I think she hates you now.

Kyne sighed. ? She took it badly then??
Very. She said something to the effect that you were a horrible brother, leaving her all alone with your parents, and that she would hate you forever.
? Then she joins the rest of the family.?
I think she was just upset Kyne.

An ache throbbed inside his chest. Amelia, his younger sister, was the only one that didn?t hate him for his actions. She was the last person he wished to hurt. A grimace crossed his face as a stewardess asked him if he would like a drink or something to eat. He shook his head, not feeling hungry. He covered his face with his hand, the pain from his heart written plainly across his face.

Fifteen hours later and Kane stepped out of the JFK Airport. The flight from Australia was long, and the plane had stopped at LAX to refuel. People looked at him with strange looks on their faces. Some were admiring him, others look terrified at him. He was an imposing figure to behold. Luckily, however, they couldn?t see the crow perched on his shoulder otherwise they would backing away from him quickly. The clever creature used an invisibility spell to hide his presence.

Kyne looked towards a taxi driver, who looked back at him with a terrified look.
? I wish to go to this place,? Kane said simply, walking over to the short, but stocky taxi driver.
? Er? I can get you there, but it will be pricey,? the man said, his Brooklyn accent thick. It sounded like the taxi driver didn?t want to take advantage of Kyne, just in case he pummelled him into the ground.
? Money isn?t an issue,? Kyne replied, his Australian accent barely recognisable.
? Get in then, sir.?

Getting into the back seat of the taxi, as it was custom in America, Kyne waited for the taxi driver to get in and drive. Mayon had hopped over to Kyne?s other shoulder, to avoid being squashed by the car door. The taxi driver hopped in and they were soon on their way to the suburbs of New York.

? So, where?d you come from?? the driver asked, looking at Kyne in the mirror, trying to make some friendly conversation as they waited in the infamous New York traffic.

? Sydney, Australia,? Kyne replied simply, looking into the front of the taxi. He had been to New York plenty of times with his parents. They were Australia?s most prominent family, as they owned most of the media companies in Australia, which included television stations, newspapers, magazines and internet services. The sights and sounds of the huge city was nothing to him anymore.

? Ah. I didn?t think you were around here. If you dressed like that, around here, you could be mistaken for a part of the Mafia and the World police would be on your case.?

A sharp pang of pain struck Kyne, almost knocking the wind from his lungs. He lurched forward, clutching his chest.

? Oi, you all right back there?? the driver asked concerned.
? Stop the car,? Kyne breathed.

The taxi came to a sudden halt and Kyne stumbled out of the door, holding his head with his right hand. The driver also got out of the car, looking over at his patron with a worried look on his face.

? I?ll walk,? Kyne said simply.
? Walk?! But that place is miles from here!?

The ground shook as dust arose from around the corner. The pain inside of Kyne was almost excruciating.

? I suggest you get away from this place,? Kyne said in a raspy voice.

The driver nodded and started towards a nearby subway entrance. Kyne stumbled over to an alleyway, people skirting around him as they ran from where the commotion had started. He put his back against a metal dumpster, breathing hard. Mayon looked down at his master, concerned.

? Mayon? it?s Omega? isn?t it?? he breathed, the pain becoming unbearable.
It is. The pain is real, isn?t it?
? It is.?
Then I need to get you away from him.

The crow used a transportation spell, making him and Kyne disappear from the alleyway and reappear on the doorstep of a luxurious looking mansion. Immediately, the pain lessened enough for Kyne to stand firmly on his own two feet. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as the door opened, a maid appearing in the doorway.

? Kyne Axel?? she asked, her voice pretty and sweet.
He nodded.
? Come in then.?

Kyne moved through the doorway and past the maid into a large entrance hall. A girl about the same age as his sister stood there, a vibrant streak of red through her hair. He approached her, towering over her small figure. But then, everyone was small compared to him.

? Kyne Axel, from Sydney. At your service.?

Kabato opened the two massive doors to his house and was almost immediately met by his Butler Avery.

"I have a message from your father. He wishes for you to go to New York to attend a conference on military advancements. He says he is currently beind held up over in Berhain and will be unable to attend." Avery adjusted his sleeves and handed over the note to Kabato.

Kabato grabbed it stiffly and crumpled it into a paper ball. "When do i leave?"

Avery handed him an envelope. "Here is the money you should need for the trip and your fathers jet is waiting at the international airport across town." Kabato grabbed the envelope and went up the stairs to his room. With all the irregular activity of these worms he was worried about leavening his home. What worried him even more was venturing into a land he had not gone to often enough to consider it safe. As he entered his room he walked over to his dresser and opened the bottom drawer. Inside was a plethora of weapons ranging from blades all the way up to guns. Kabato began to pull out various knifes and placing them on top of his dresser. Finally he drew out a long katana covered by a leather hilt. The top was wrapped and tied tightly to secure the sword in the sheath. Kabato put down his current sword next to the one he had just taken out. From the top drawer he pulled out a large old-fashioned kimono that he enjoyed wearing. Though it made him look like an old fashion Samari it had practical uses. It allowed him to hide a variety of weapons he almost never left his city without. It also provided amazing movement with little to slow him down. After changing cloths and putting the various weapons underneath his kimono he walked back down stairs.

"Ill be going...Take care of the place." Kabato walked past the nodding Avery.

The slight squeal of wet brakes resounded through the air as Marquis pulled to a stop. His family's mansion home. The elegant flowing stone, large paned windows, and exsquisite landscaping dated back to the 15th century. Helmet still in hand Marquis walked briskly to the carved doors, these were a change they had made. The images of Fauns, Centaurs, Fairaes jumping out at him slightly. Slight touches of mythology and magic were around the house hinted at the familes unusual interests, but no one seemed to notice or care.

What took you so long. A soft, airy voice asked above Marquis's head.

Looking up he saw his pet, floating or flying hard to tell which sometimes, the spirit liked to move. The sylph was a round ball of air, or at least it seemed, sky blue in color with areas of white like clouds, smooth and soft to the touch. The colors seemed to swirl across its body, as if the wind was painting a picture across it, changing color to match it's mood. That was the only way to really tell what it felt, since it had no eyes, or a mouth.

"The roads are pretty bad Boo, where's my Mother and Father" Marquis replied as the wind spirit floated above his right shoulder.

Library I believe. Boo aswered, rotating around Marquis's head as he made his way up one of the dual cascading stairways.

Turning down the hall he made a left walking through the doorless entrance to the Library. His mother and father sat at a table facing eachother, various vials and substances between them, as well as a map. Each of his parents held a leather cord the ends tied to a crystal. One hung glued in the air over Japan, the other almost a mirror image over New York. "I'm here as you asked Mother, what was so urgent?"

Though the question was directed to his mother, Marquis's Father was the one to answer "Son, I.... We request you to go to New York" He finished as his mother added "We can't tell you much, however you're needed there, you'll know where to go when you arrive"

"So thats it, and I'm expected to go" Marquis said coldly, silence the only thing he received in turn "Alright, Alright I'll do it, I want answers when I come back though, oh and have a bike ready for me at the airport, I despise cabs" He demanded though his parents seemed absorbed by the map and crystals.

"Let's go Boo"

---------------------------------------------------

Stepping off the new R6 that had been waiting for him at the the airport Marquis looked around. He stood in front of a lavish mansion, though he was unable to focus on its design, his attention seemed pulled inside, as if something was calling him. He walked ghostlike, eyes set on the door, unblinking as he reached it. Without thinking he opened it and stepped inside, it wasn't before he shut the door that he came to full awareness.

"I guess thats what you meant about "knowing where to go", eh mother" He mumbled to himself.

What are you doing? It's rude to walk into someones home, lets go. Boo urged, his coloring a grayish color, that he turned when worried.

"I don't know I felt drawn here, like somethi-" Marquis started though a female voice interuppted, "Don't you know it's rather rude and unbecoming to enter anothers home unannounced" Before Marquis could come to his defense she added "You're expected though, what is your name?"

Marquis looked up at her again, this time looking closely, examining, analyzing. Her arms were covered in red spiral tattoo's or so it seemed, looking closer he noticed they were scars, and the color, it was pulsating like fire almost. "My name is Marquis Cicero, and what do you mean expected?"

"Do you think that he is ready my love...he is still only a child; the curse will live with him for the rest of his life." Kairi's mother stood at the doorway to their home as Kairi boreded a ship. Her husband held her firmly in his embrace, giving her warmth from the oceans breeze that lay before them on the coast of Italy. Her voice was not of saddness, but of authority and concern as she looked at Kairi stand at the rear of the boat, looking at his parents in his usual blank stare.

"The others will keep him safe my dear; as young as he may be, we've taught all that we could...of his former life, and the life that is before him now. The rest is now in Star's hands." the father of Kairi was a strong and proud man as he watched his son sail away. There was a confident and encouraging tone in his voice as he comforted his wife.

"Yes....'' there was a pause in her statement..."you're right my love, we've hid him away for long enough........do you think she'll find him on his way to New York."

"I don't believe so, no one is going to notice a simple ship docking on the outskirts of New Jersey. I've arranged a seperate boat to meet Kairi at port Royal where Kairi alone will make his way to New York City...he's a smart boy my dear...he's survived worse."

Now his wife burst into sobs, not only for that of her son, but of the potential future that he held on his wrist. Behind her sobs she muttered a silent prayer...my dear Star, protect my son...forgive him of his misdeeds...do not let him stray from your light again...

***

The trip was long and dangerous as Kairi sat patiently inside the ships bowels...quiet and innocent as usual. As always, he lost himself in the Emerald's beauty upon his wrist, listening as well to his IPod; his choice of music was that of Enya...a soothing title that he couldn't remember.

May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Mornie utulie (Darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadow's call
Will fly away
May it be you journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

It was a favorite of he and his fathers who held daily meditation sessions to calm Kairi's restless heart. The young boy knew almost too well the life that had predestined him until he was saved. Now...he was going to meet that life...whether he would turn back or not, only Star knew. Kairi's heart, through many years of training seemed to have submitted to his convertion through the device on his wrist. Now, his soul was going to be judged.

In that moment Kairi took in a deep breath and sighed...imagining himself in the light amongst Star and his angels (who were indeed other Gods). Of course this wasn't so in this day in age...but a hope; a hope that one day would come from the resurrection.

His parents told him he should be happy for the comming of Omega and Alpha...that Star's time has come. But in Kairi's renewed heart...he was afraid...will he accept me again into his arms...

But right now it didn't matter; "one thing at a time." Kairi reminded himself as he peacefully drifted into a deep sleep as the ship rocked back and forth from the oceans waves.

***

The journey lasted almost an entire week; leaving Kairi completely to himself as he finally found himself on a road walking towards his destination. A large mansion began to rise in the distance as Kairi; with only a backpack full of supplies, the clothes on his back and the amulet around his wrist...which he knew would be replaced soon...his heart began to race as he came to the gate.

The large iron gates were open, giving an very welcoming impression...but as Kairi took one step...he became frightened...like any young man would. "Why are you being such a coward?" he questioned to himself outload as he could see figures walking through the window.

In the sudden rush of panic...he took a step back and looked at his breath floating in the cold air. His silver and black hair blew in the wind as he closed his eyes and took a few more steps towards the house.

A few steps became a smooth stride walking along the cobblestone path; within moments...Kairi was at the front door, and knocked.

...they will never take you back...you are mine...

Blocking the voice in his head, Kairi muttered something under his breath before the door suddenly opened before him.

"It's in your hands now Star...my master..."

Cole wiped her eyes and stood, her back against he wall and took a deep breath, she had to get out and walk. Grabbing her keys she opened the door and walked down the staris to the first floor and as she rounded a corner into the lobby she saw a few maids dusting, the dust felw into her eyes and nose making her sneeze. She shook he head and contiued outside as she walked down the road she saw a car rental shop and walked in. It was quiet and she liked that, if only for a breif moment. She hit the bell and was rewarded with a very angered answer.
"What do you want? I'm busy!"
She heard the faint giggle of a young woman in the back with his voice and rolled her eyes. Shwe hated fighting but she did know how to make her self sound as tough as she needed.
"Well I'm so sorry. But I need transportation. Now."
She heard the groan of defeat from the man and dissapproval from the young lady and gave her self a mental smile as she watched the young man come from the back adjusting his pants. He was hansome she would give him that but something felt off from him and she couldn't tell just what it was. She talked with him for a minute decideing that a car was alittle unorthadox in the croweded city so she setteled on a Black and Purple Kawasaki Ninja Motorcylce. She grabbed a matching helmet and reaced out to take the keys from him and shuddered as she felt pain and sickness flow through her own body.
"Your dying."
His head shot up looking at her and he blinked.
"How do you know that?"
"I just do. I am sorry."
She looked at the girl behind him and made a point to make eye contact with her before speaking.
"Make sure you use protection."
She was out the door before wither one of them could say another word, she slid back onto the bike relshing the feeling and started it to life. She revved it and let the clutch go feeling the bike jump to life under her she let her self smile. It felt almost like flying, almost. It her first time on one by herself, she had always wanted one but her brother had never allowed it and she always insisted taht when he went on his that he take her along. But the one time he didn't was the one time that she never saw him again. The memory hurt and she pushed it back into the recceses of her mind as she passes out of the city and into the country that was only a short strech of land that was flat and was mostly made up of bird sanctuary's. She felt the ace to be home in Athens again, stronger then ever. The country there made her feel so safe, like nothing could touch her, bu here in the city she felt vaunerable, watched and she hated it.
'Whatever is calling me here I wish it would hurry up and get done with me what it needs done.'
She stopped the bike as a large mansion came into veiw. Not something you see very often in New York. She felt a compelling to go there and raced back to the hotel gathering her things she strapped them to the bike and went back. Taking her duffle bag from the back she pulled off the helmet letting her hair spill over her shoulders and walekd to the dorr pushing the bike with her. The door swung open as if expecting her.
"Um...Hello."
The butler ushered her in swiftly and took her bag.
"Hey wait! I'd much rather have that on my person if you do not mind."
She blinked as she realized that he wasn't listening.
"Excuse me deary. Are you here like the rest of them?"
"The rest- I'm afraid I do not understand."
"Thought so. Right this way."
She let her worry and a little bit of nervousness show on her face as the kindly maid took her through the large house to the dinieing area, by this time she had her hair in a neat braid and was playing with the end. She had spun around catching a glimpse of a large statue of who appered to be Star as she was ushed into the dineing area and then with a curtsy the maid left with only a few words.
"Hope you make friends with them."
"With who?"
Her words again went on deaf ears as she turned she saw a young man, younger then her it looked like sitting at the table looking seriuous and another figure, tall and towering standing in the corner, eyes shut leaning on the wall. she ducked as a crow went over her head to land on the man's shoulder. He looked up as she was sure the animal wa speaking to him and she sw his eyes widen as he caught sight of her.
"Big Brother?"
The title sounded old and unused to her own ears as she spoke them. She felt hope well up in her chest as she looked at the shadowed figure but didn't let it got o far, he was dead. That is what they had said, after they checked the bike wreck scene, he had died in the crash. Her mother and father told her so them selves, but they had never approved of how close her and Kyne had been. They did alomsot everything together. They were as close as twins but far from it as well. She blinked and sat down at the table as she felt her knees go weak still hopeing for an answer.

"Does my master believe she can handle welcoming our new guests and the fate that has been sent before her?" Chase hovered above Alexia's right shoulder as she pulled the black leather glove over her wrist. "They fit you well, my master."

"I have no time for weakness, Chase. I knew of my Fate long before this day." Alexia replied to her nymph companion with confidence and strength of a woman, not a teenager just coming into her own. A depth that only her soul could possibly give her.

"Of course my master." Chase continued to hover over Alexia's right shoulder, but said nothing for the remainder of the evening.

Alexia made her way through the expansive mansion's first floor. Servants rushing about to ready the building for the new guests about to be welcomed into their home. They were the only ones that could possibly escape the conflict to come. Some had homes to go to, others lived in the cottages on the side of the mansion. Alexia paid little mind to them as she passed unless one spoke to her first, but most did not.

The downstairs was mostly covered with wooden or marble flooring. They were rich maple or red oak in coloring along with most of the walls. Ancient and classic furniture surrounding the whole house making it look vageuly like a museum not a home for a wealthy family stretching into the past some seven or eight hundred centuries, but time had a way of deceiving people.

The second floor was where most if not all of the bedrooms were kept. The master bedroom was the farthest room to the left and had been her mother and father's room until met a tradgic accident some six years previous. Her mother was devasted, but refused to let on. A center walk-way up the stairs and through the long corridor was completely carpeted with another dark brown coloring, a faint patteren visiable. There were six bedrooms on the right and seven on the left each having their own personal bathroom.

Alexia made it to the front door just in time to welcome the first guest. A lovely woman of beautiful blonde hair and a few years aged than her greeted her with a smile. Beside her stood a handsome man firmly attached to her. His eyes wandered over Alexia's curious appearance before delievering his greeding with the woman's.

?Welcome, please, leave your things here and go into the room to my right, we?ve been expecting you. I am Alexia, the soul of Fate," she lowered her head. "A servant will take you shortly to Lady Karma."

Alexia watched as they left, a male servant closing the front door behind them. But the door did not remain closed for long. It was swung open in the same fashion it had before and a tall dark man stood on the stoop. He approached her. She knew in an instant who this man was, she had had countless dreams of him. He was going to be important to them, though she had not discovered how yet.

"Kyne Axel?" She needed ask, but it was formality that beckoned it from her mouth.

? Kyne Axel, from Sydney. At your service.?

She looked up into his dark eyes, having to stretch her neck farther back than she was accustom to. He was impressively tall and intmidating. "We have asked the guest wait in the dinning hall until summoned by Lady Karma." The man nodded and quietly made his way into the other room.

The next young man, no more than a year or so older than she stumbled into the mansion with an odd sort of look on his face. "Don't you know it's rather rude and unbecoming to enter anothers home unannounced" she said softly, a little out of character for she was generally easy going, but quickly added, "You're expected though, what is your name?"

"My name is Marquis Cicero, and what do you mean expected?" He snapped back.

She smiled softly. "You are a member of the reborns. You may wait with the others in the dinning hall this way," she pointed towards the right only then noticing the grayish colored ball floating near him. "Is that a wind spirit?" she asked with curiousity.

"Yes, his name is Boo." The boy looked at her with mild interest.

"Nice to have met you," Alexia bowed slightly. "A maid will be with you shortly to usher you to Lady Karma's."

As the young man left to join the others, Alexia felt herself waiver slightly. She could feel Chase's urge to usher her to some place she could rest, but he remained quiet.

Alexia brought herself up again, feeling a tug--a dark tug on her soul. Her throat tighten as she caught her breath. He has come. Oh Star how I wish I could call upon your blessings for we will surely need it. The door opened a boy stood before her, his face still soft with youth but his eyes harden with experience of a painful life--painful memories. Alexia adverted her eyes momentarily.

"Welcome. You may join the others in the dinning hall and a maid will be with you shortly." Alexia motioned towards the right once more. The boy quietly made his way past her and into the room with the others.

There was a momentary silence in the guests that were being ushered in, allowing Alexia to take a seat not far from the door. Before she had time to get up and welcome the next guess a maid took the next girl into the dinning hall.

"Don't frit, miss Karma. We can handle the rest from here." The maid came back and smiled brightly at Alexia.

"That's alright, Mary. There's only one left." Alexia stood and watched as the maid left her be.

The last to enter was a young man of some twenty years or so. He seemed up beat and chipper compared to the others.

"Kabato," he said simply.

"Nice to have met you. You may join the others in the dinning hall."

Taking a deep breath, Alexia made her way through the buidling once more to her mother's study. "They have all arrived." Alexia announced to her mother.

"Send Abby to usher the first one in." Alexia's mother replied, not looking at her daughter.

"Yes."

OOC: I guess I'm last in the order, then? Tell you what, demonchild781. I'll post my arrival now, then wait to post again until you tell me to (besides, I don't want to post your character's reaction to mine. I'd prefer that you do it, since you know Alexia better than I do).

If this doesn't come as a shock to them, Aesera thought as she walked down the street, nothing will.

Aesera had gone straight home after calling her mother. She'd hoped that Maria would have news of Daego, Aesera's father. Unfortunately, when Aesera got home Maria told her that she hadn't been able to contact him. "I fear for his safety," she'd said. Aesera, however, hadn't been too surprised. Maria wouldn't have been the only one worried about a loved one if things got out of control, and since the spawn had apeared, things were certainly getting out of control. The phone lines were probably clogged at this point, though they'd likely clear up before too long.

Maria had given Aesera some news. Aesera had been summoned to the mansion of Lady Karma. This was also not too surprising, given that spawn had been seen. The presence of spawn meant that other events were occuring, meant that it was time. Aesera knew that in addition to herself, six others had been summoned to the mansion of Lady Karma. But whether any of those six knew of her, she wasn't too certain.

Aesera's grandfather, Kajo, had never accepted his duty. He'd distanced himself from the others, and had had nothing more to do with them. Aesera was certain that resentment towards the name of Laoresk still remained. And she also suspected that the others of Kajo's time had never expected to see one of his bloodline again. So she wondered if the current generation had even been told of the Laoresks. But Kajo's attitude had died with him. Aesera and her parents did accept their duty, though they'd been reluctant to contact any of the others, thanks to the resentment that undoubtably remained. But now, circumstances had dictated that a Laoresk be reunited with the other seven families.

Aesera didn't think that Karma was actually expecting her to show up. She'd simply been doing her duty when she'd summoned the newest Laoresk, but she probably wasn't expecting Aesera to show up. This, of course, made Aesera look forward to her meeting with Karma. She knew she'd love the look on the woman's face.

Aesera stood at the front entrance to Karma's mansion, waiting for someone to come and let her in. Eventually the door was opened by a woman who was undoubtably a maid. "Hello," the maid said. "Who are you, and what business do you have here?"

So you, at least, weren't expecting me, Aesera thought. "My name is Aesera Laoresk," she told the maid, "and I was summoned here by Lady Karma. I'm guessing you're aware of the reason."

The maid didn't seem to know just what to make of Aesera. She was muttering something to herself, and she looked quite confused. "Yes, I'm one of them," Aesera said. "Weren't expecting me, were you? Now, would you pleae let me in?"

"I- I must talk to Miss Alexia," the maid told Aesera.

"I have a better idea," Aesera replied. "Take me to her. She may know who I am. And if she doesn't, I know that Lady Karma does. And I won't accept you telling me to wait out here. See, I can't trust you to be objective. You probably think I'm either crazy or lying, and this belief will influence how you describe me to this Alexia. Either that, or you won't mention me at all. So I'll be going with you. That's the only way I can be sure you'll do what you say you will."

Without waiting for the maid's response, Aesera pushed her to the side and entered the mansion. The maid, clearly angry but doing a pretty good job of hiding it, closed the door and motioned for Aesera to follow her. "Come this way, please," she said. "I'll take you to Miss Alexia. She'll sort this whole thing out."

"Thank you," Aesera said. "And I'm sorry for my forceful behavior, but you gave me no choice. Now, let's go." She followed as the maid led her to Alexia.

Eve sat near the head of the long cherry wood table, looking down it as the others came in. Zech sat beside her, holding her hand under the table. She wasn?t scared or nervous at all, but it didn?t hurt anything to let him rub her hand. Faith sat next to her observing the others coolly and unblinking. It was curious they all made it on the same day, within hours of each other in fact. Especially since it was clear, there wasn?t a yank among them. All foreigners, linked by one cosmic chain. A perfect connection. It was almost creepy.

?Eve Halifax??

Eve snapped out of her thoughts and turned to see the maid that had opened the door for her standing behind her

?Yes??

?Lady Karma will see you now. Please follow me.?

Eve stood, Zech following. They went down the shadowy hallway, her heels clicked and echoed on the marble as they went. They got to a large open sitting room. The maid turned and looked at Zech for a moment.

?I can stay out here.?

Purrrr

Eve looked down at Faith ?I know, I con?t tell you ta do anythin.?

The maid smiled slightly and walked into the room.

?Eve Halifax milady.?

She then turned and left the room. Eve was left standing in the middle of a large open thick carpeted floor facing a wall of windows with dark wood antique sofa, chairs and a desk against the wall. In one of the chairs near the desk sat an elegantly dressed woman in emerald green with long deep red hair. Eve was immediately transported back to etiquette school and felt herself curtsy slightly before walking any further into the room. Faith stepped in behind her, prancing with all the feline dignity she could muster.

The woman just reminded her so much of her own mother at some formal occasion. She suddenly felt underdressed despite the fact that her jeans and shirt were expensive designer brands.

The woman gave a small smile which faded quickly into a serious aura. ?Please, sit.?
Eve sat across from her obediently.

?Do you know why you?re here??

?I ave my suspicions. Star is returning. The counterfeit gods are fightin back.?

?Yes. What do you know of the souls??

?That we are the chosen warriors ta carry them. I?ve known this day would come for a couple of years now? though knowin is different from confrontin it at last.?

?Well said.? Lady Karma stood then and turned to the desk opening the top drawer and removing a pendent on a gold chain. ?This is for you?

Eve stood and saw the chain had a ruby the size of a pound. Lady Karma slipped it over her neck and she felt a warmth flow through her veins. Eve closed her eyes and breathed it in. Faith purred and sat by her feet in a sign of respect. Opening her eyes and glancing down Eve saw the gem had molded in with her flesh just over her heart.

Lady Karma took a step back and gave her a grim smile. ?No wonder he?s so protective of you, you were born to a very special destiny as the god of love?s soul has chosen you.?

?Zech?" she wondered if he could hear them talking from outside the door "I know, he?s? he?s great. He understands I told im??

?Everything. He?s a born follower of Star to be sure. But not a warrior. Be sure he understands all of what you?ll have to do, without him.?

?He knows. ?E doesn?t like it, but he knows??

?Very good then. I?ll have Anna show you to your rooms, or would you prefer to??

?One room is fine, if it?s no offence to you that is.?

?None at all.?

The room surrounding Kyne was elegant and luxurious to say the least. It was all he expected from a house as ground as this one. Gold leaf furnishings; rich red-brown timber furniture, upholstered with intricate but faded fabric. He could feel the air was thick with history, keeping silent the events that may have unfolded between the walls.

Kyne?s family home, hidden in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, was much more contemporary in style, compared to this. However, this house felt as thought several generations had passed through its rooms, whereas his family were the first to live in their home.

Mayon?s tightening talons, however, brought Kyne firmly back to reality.

? What is it Mayon?? Kyne asked darkly, not impressed with his friend?s claws digging into his favourite coat.
What happened with you? when you saw that girl?
Kyne glanced over to the one Mayon was referring to. She had blonde hair, and blue eyes. ? She looks like Amelia? she even? has that same emotion in her eyes?? Kyne muttered in reply, his voice quiet, not wanting his conversation to be overheard by the others in the room.
Are you going soft on me Kyne? the jet-black crow taunted.
Kyne closed his eyes, disgruntled at the crow?s comment, and crossed his muscular arms across his broad chest.

Moments later, a soft timid voice washed over his ears.
? Umm? excuse me?.?

Kyne opened his eyes slowly to see a petite girl of no older than 18, dressed in a typical maid?s uniform, standing nervously in front of him. She twiddled with her thumbs anxiously as she tried to look Kyne in the eye, wanting to say something but the words getting lost in her mouth.

? Umm?. Lady Karma? would like to speak with you? now?? she mumbled quietly ? so quietly that Kyne barely heard her. But, fortunately for her, he did and he moved his massive body to the standing position. The young maid turned on her heel and walked off, hoping that Kyne would follow.

Soon, they came to a large set of intricately carved timber doors. They were made from a rich mahogany. Even Kyne could appreciate the craftsmanship that had gone into making these magnificent doors. The young maid pushed them open with difficulty, Kyne waiting to be announced.

? Ma?am. Kyne Axel? from Sydney is here for you.?
? Thank you Aurelia. You can wait outside,? an elegant woman, dressed in emerald green, long red locks cascading over her shoulders, said softly, motioning for the maid to leave the room. Aurelia did, bowing out and closing the doors again with difficulty.

Mayon shifted himself uncomfortably on Kyne?s left shoulder. Kyne could feel the uneasiness of his friend grow in this woman?s presence.

? Kyne Axel?? Lady Karma repeated his name softly, and motioned for Kyne to sit ? a gesture he coolly refused.
? I prefer to stand,? he explained, his voice smooth.
? Ah?? Lady Karma smiled knowingly and proceeded to look Kyne up and down, as if inspecting him.

? You hail from Australia, do you not?? she asked.
Kyne growled. ? You already know the answer.?
? You don?t like beating around the bush.?
? There is no point.?

Lady Karma laughed at Kyne?s serious remark. ? Indeed. But some people feel that it is necessary to, perhaps, protect someone from something. Isn?t that what you do with your sister, Amelia??

A rush of anger coursed through Kane?s body. He didn?t like being talked down to, or his sister to be brought into something that didn?t include her.
? Get to the point,? he said darkly, almost a tone of threat in his voice.
? Very well.?

Lady Karma opened a drawer beside her. Inside it there were numerous gems inside. One glowed with an eerie light. She picked out the one that was glowing - a red stone. To Kyne, it looked like a ruby, but on closer inspection, it didn?t have the depth of colour that a ruby did.

The elegant lady stood and walked over to Kyne, her face barely reaching the top of his chest. She placed the red gem in his hand.

? This is a red diamond. It is one of the most valuable jewels on earth. Its? value is significantly higher than that of a common white diamond because of its colour. I hope? in the future? that you will become as valued as this diamond.?

To Kyne?s surprise, the diamond melted into his hand and a sudden burning sensation trailed itself over his back. Mayon jumped off his master in shock, landing on the nearby couch, watching Kyne?s breath be knocked from his lungs. The pain was so intense that Kyne doubled over, grimacing, as the sensation crawled across his back. But in a few moments, it was over. Kyne breathed heavily, his chest rising and falling at a fast rate. He had never felt such a severe physical pain before. It had drained him of his energy.

Lady Karma approached him cautiously, in case he struck out at her.
? Aurelia!?

Aurelia came in through a side door this time. She curtsied to the Lady before looking over at Kyne, shocked by his sudden weakened appearance.

? Aurelia? take him to his room and tend to the wounds on his back,? Lady Karma said. Mayon took the hint and flew over to the maid, landing easily on her shoulder.

? Yes ma?am.?

Marquis sat quietly on a soft arm chair that resembled a throne. Though the way the furnishings looked it might very well have been. The room around him was a small waiting area, bearing several red oak chairs placed in a semi-circle, most appearing to be a century old or older. A red oak coffee table sat between the chairs, it was beautifully carved, a had a little gilding, definately older than a century, even two. Boo floated in the air circling a finely chandelier.

"Mr. Cicero?" A melodious voice spoke bringing Maquis's sight down from the ceiling.

The maid that stood before him was probably into her 30's, maybe an early and young looking 40. She was beautiful, tall but curvy, with long legs, defined features, long, sleek brown hair, and large jade green eyes. If she were younger, He would have offered to take her out, but it wasn't the case, though it didn't mean he couldn't flirt. Standing up Marquis made a elegant bow, before taking her hand and kissing it lightly.

"Marquis Cicero, and may I have your name Madmoiselle" He replied still holding her hand

"My name? Oh My name Madeline, I will be attending you during your stay, but the reason I'm here is Lady Karma is ready to meet with you, if you will follow me" She finished motioning out the door slightly dazed looking, a woman used to attention but caught off guard.

With a nod they set off deeper into the luxurious mansion, Marquis making idle talk and inquisitions about things as they passed, family history, furniture, and personal question about Madeline, in all she aswered to the best she could, though she was a little less forthcoming about herself, though Marquis brushed it aside.

As they came to a set of richly carved doors she stopped. Pulling open one of the mahogony doors she ushered Maquis into the lushly furnished room. A woman stood from her seat as he entered. She was beautiful with red hair falling in curls, knowing green eyes, in a green silk dress that emphasized them perfectly.

"Ah thank you Madeline, please wait outside" She ordered, her rich voice soft and comforting.

Apon the door shutting she continued "I am Lady Karma, and you must be-"

"Marquis Cicero at your service Ma'dam" He chimed in making another formal bow.

"Quite charming I see" She added with a smile, as a smirk grew across the young man's face, please take a seat she said resuming her own.

"Although I wish we could become more aqquainted now is not the time, do you know why your hear" Lady Karma continued, her eyes growing slightly darker.

"In truth I haven't the vaugest idea" Marquis stated, being extra formal, he was a rebel sometimes, but his education hadn't been for naught.

"Star is alas returning to it's children, though the false gods are there to oppress his right of passage, you are to aid him in his struggle, you are the God of Hope's soul"

Running a hand through his silver hair, he thought carefully before answering "I don't know if all of what you say is true, I am me, and that's all I ever have been and will be, but I am here to help none the less, I cannot deny the threats to the world"

"It is good you do not accept what is placed before your eyes, it shows a good resolve, and an intelligent mind, though don't be so skeptical you see something in nothing" She spoke while reaching into a drawer and pulling out a medallion, an opal set within the center.

"I offer you your birthright, you will accept it by taking this Opal Medallion, the stone that shines with many colors, I hope you will be able to take all that you have within you and create something that truely shines. I will warn you though, with this power comes a cost albiet a small one, you will be a shining beacon of hope when there is none, but you will never be able to taste food or drink again, hope will be your true sustenence, do you accept" Lady Karma continued, standing and walking around the desk to face Marquis.

"..........I accept" Marquis said reluctantly, the wording seemed to flow into his mouth, like it was the only choice.

Slowly Lady Karma slid the Medalion around his neck, as soon as it found flesh the stone melded with it, moving slowly downwards. The stone settled just above his bellybutton, faintly glowing under his shirt. A burning sensation filled through his body making him howl in pain, before falling to the floor. The pain stopped just as suddenly as it came, leaving a winded Maquis.

Rolling on to his knees he looked at the back of his hands, each having a patch of silvery-white skin in the shape of a crucifix as if he were born that way. Standing quickly he hastily removed his coat before pulling his shirt over his head, gazing in a mirror in the corner. The stone was set perfectly into his skin, touching it softly he felt no pain, it felt like a part of him. Two lines of the silverish skin ran up and down from the stone, the bottom ones curling around his swimmers v, while the top ones ran up spreading out slightly until reaching the collar bone, then they shot out towards his shoulders. Something's getting in the way.
Something's just about to break.
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane.
As I burn another page,
As I look the other way.
I still try to find my place in the diary of Jane.
So tell me how it should be.

Desperate, I will crawl
Waiting for so long
No love, there is no love.
Die for anyone
What have I become?

Kairi held his eyelids closed as he relaxed himself on the couch. His heart felt relentless...afraid of this meeting he was to have with Lady Karma. Whether people were around him or not he didn't know, the comfort of the cushions supporting him was sublime. Was it good to have such saddening music comfort his soul?

Suddenly there was a gentle hand that rested on his shoulder which caused him to open his eyes...it was one of the butlers; a rather well built one for that matter...not like many of the rest who were now moving about the room. Some of the other visitors had left the room...probably taken before Kairi to meet with the lady. The young girl who welcomed him into the house was nowhere in sight...her aversion of her eyes made Kairi feel uncomfortable...did she know about him?

"Sir..." the mans voice stern and direct as the behemoth looked down upon him. "you are to speak with Lady Karma immidiately...please follow me." The man didn't wait for Kairi to leave his seat as the butler began walking down one of the hallways. He looked more like a body guard than a simple butler...however Kairi did what he was told, packed his IPOD in his backpack and ran after the man.

Kairi held his gaze to the floor, not looking at mansions interiors as if he were being led to judgement; a criminal off to his death sentense. It was moments later when the butler suddenly stopped in front of a door, almost causing Kairi to run right into him.

"She awaits you inside, please leave your backpack with me, I'll be bringing it up to your room." without waiting for Kairi to openly give him the pack the butler took it in his strong hands and walked away.

Turning his attention towards the intricately carved timber doors. The smell of rich mahogany flooded his senses as he took a deep breath and pushed his way through the doors.

A single woman stood behind a large wooden desk, her figure was very attractive...just like his own mothers. At first all she did was stare at him...she had a look of concern and preperation about her. Unknown to Kairi, Lady Karma was not looking at the boy, but the ghostly figure of man standing behind Kairi...as if he were his own shadow.

Lady Karma closed her eyes and breathed in deeply and took a seat in her chair; Kairi followed her example. As she opened her eyes, the vision was gone.

...Star give me strength... "Welcome Kairi..."

The young boy said nothing....he looked a student who had been sent to the principles office. Timid and shy, he would quickly glance up at her and then back towards his lap.

"Please...look at me young man..." her voice was soothing and calm. The boy obeyed and looked into her eyes with those big silver-glass eyes of his.

"Do you know why you're here?" she suddenly stood from her chair and circled her way around the desk towards Kairi, never taking his eyes off her. Lady Karma felt a tug at her soul...causing her to flinch, almost unnoticeble.

"Because it is Star's will for me to be here." Lady Karma was now on her knees, kneeling in front of Kairi, grasping his tender hands.

"I asked what you thought Kairi..." her eyes were full of concern and power as he looked down to her, as if she were trying to save him herself from an unknown enemy. "It is important that you understand your own place..."

Kairi was silent for a few moments; sorting in his mind what she was asking of him, never breaking eyecontact. "All my life I've been told the life that I've already lived." The young boys voice was full of life...full of power and understanding...not like the boy who just a moment ago seemed so fragile.

"I, the keeper of the God of Loyalities who once was in the high council of the enemy...who was defeated and made into a child to understand and learn the faith and love of a child towards the true master Star."

"Go on..." Lady Karma urged him onward..."know what you are."

Kairi continued without any delay or change in the topic, "however, the beast still lives within me, caged... in a desperate attempt to convert all of myself to Star's cause." at this, Kairi lifted up his right arm, revieling the gem and bracelot that now grasped his wrist. Lady Karma took it in her hands and examened the gem. Looking at the device, the Green Emerald could be clearly seen that it was only half-whole.

"Yes Kairi...as you live as a child; as the holiest parts of the God of Loyalty, his demon unfortunately passed onto you as well which like you said, is imprisoned by this gem."

"Parts my lady?" Kairi quickly turned frightened.

"My dear boy...you are not merely a reincarnate...you ARE the God of Loyalty...but only part of him." The womans voice became harsh and tense as she rose to her feet and released Kairi from her hold and walked back to a window in back of the desk, keeping her back towards Kairi.

"I have been giving the souls of the Gods to each of these visitors that you've seen. As we speak they are being filled with their powers, their memories, their ideals. You however Kairi, are cursed with the demon that we, Star's followers have feared for generations!" she was becoming frustrated and angry...Kairi was feeling even more frightened now.

"Why are you getting so upset at me...I didn't do anything..." but he was quickly interrupted.

"I will never understand Star's will to bring you back into his graces Kairi. However, I will say this though, the gem to make you fully whole will not be given to you. As of now, you are not deemed worthy of the God of Loyalties memories and full power...you are not ready to hold such powers for you would become a great risk to us all."

...no...*cry*...you dont trust me...am I too weak...how could you say I'm embraced back into Star's grace and light....and yet I am denied even my own self....condemned to live incomplete...

"You must understand Kairi" even now Lady Karma held back her tears as much as she could...she knew she was ripping at his heart, but it was the only way for their safety. "you are still young...if I were to give back your soul at this time, the power would be too much for you to control, and the beast would certainly arise once again."

All Kairi could do was sit there and weap...he was powerless to do anything else...

...let me go...I'll make them pay for how they treat you...release me...

"You're indeed here because Star has willed for you to aid our destiny to bring Star back into this existance. You may use what powers you have now, but understand this...I am not prepared to allow the God of Loyalties to come back fully...you are too much of a risk to us."

"Now leave me, you'll be summoned when we're ready for you."

Lady Karma continued to have her back towards Kairi as he stood from his seat, whipping the tears away from his eyes and slowed backed his way to the door and left. This sort of thing was not the first time he'd been broken down like this...his father and mother had once done it too him when he became of age to fully understand.

They said they had to do it because they loved him, that the truth couldn't be diminished or weakened in its purpose and power in any way. He didn't fully know how he came to be this way...only his memories would know that...and they were in his gem...his other half.

...release me...and let us become whole...

Immidiately after leaving the room with Lady Karma, Kairi was met by the butler who introduced himself as Malachi...and would commendate him to his every need. no you're here to keep an eye on me...

Kairi quickly shook the voice out of his mind and followed Malachi to his room. It was simple enough, contained the same kinds of furniture and accessories as the rest of the mansion. Malachi closed the door behind him as he left, leaving Kairi alone.

So many emotions flooded through his heart...anger...confusion...love for Star. At first all he wanted to do was fall on his knees and cry. After a few moments of fighting with himself, he dropped to his knees and cried out to Star to forgive him of the wrongs that followed him, and prayed for death.

The voice of the beast was gone, replaced by a soothing voice that flooded his body with warmth. Do not worry, you are in my arms...follow me first...

Upon listening to this...Kairi suddenly felt a rush of exhaustion and passed out on the carpet on the floor.

Alexia could feel the pulsing of the fire that now ran through her scars. They ached and made her head hurt. She wanted to go soak in a cold bath, but knew that she needed to be ready for when her mother need her once more. Soon she would have to explain things to the guests for who better than the God of Fate to tell them what is to become of them.

"My master, that boy..." Chase said softly.

"He is Loyality," she whispered as she sat up in the lounge chair. "A slight counterdiction...one who is supposed to be of great loyality knows not where his heart belongs."

"My master has dreamt of this boy?"

"Not as much as that of the intimadating Kyne and his black crow."

"Does my master know more than she allows others to?"

"No. I can't deciefer the dreams yet, Chase. I'm afraid that Star and the God of Fate have not fully awaken within me." Alexia winced as a heavy flow of energy pulsed through her, instictively she reached up and placed her hand on the gem in her chest.

"Miss Alexia!" a maid's voice rang through the room she was in. Alexia stood and made her way towards the front of the room. She was then met by a maid and a stranger she had never seen before. I lovely looking woman with an expression of distaste.

"I could not stop her, Miss Alexia. She just pushed her way through." The maid turned to point towards the woman.

"How may I help you, Miss?" Alexia said softly.

"My name is Aesera Laoresk," she said shortly.

Alexia's eyes grew wide. "From the Kajo Laoresk family?"

"In the flesh," she smirked with some sick sort of satsifaction at Alexia's surprise or at least it seemed to be that way.

"Chase, tell mother that we have an unexpected guest amongst us."

OOC: Please continue with the ordered posting, the next person to recieve their gem (that awakens their soul...not give them their soul) will need to add Chase's interruption, but still continue to recieve your gem. Takuya you may post in response to mine.

Cole sat at the back of the room patiently looking down at hr hands. She was aware of everyone else around her and decided that she was somewhat of a misfit. She heaved a sigh and glanced up at the window. It was a long day and things still didn't make much sense. She pulled a long strand of hair over her shoulder and bit her bottom lip as a second maid came forward and looked at her.
"Sorry for the interuption and delay. Cole Blue?"
She nodded and took a step forward.
"Follow me please. She will see you now."
Nodding she followed as she was told and entered the large room just as everyone had before her. She jumped lsightly as the door shut behind her and looked at the woman who sat smileing at her.
"Dear one, do not be afraid. I am here to help you."
She nodded again, not quite trusting her voice.
"You are a dear one to this group for you have been chosen to house the God of Peace's sould within you."
That news unlocked her vocal chords and she blinked as she heard her voice come form her throat.
"God of Peace? How is that possible?"
"I assure you it is dear one. Cole Blue. You are the sister to another of us here are you not?"
"I don't understand?"
"The God of Peace is to balance out the God of Hate. You will learn."
She blinked again as she was handed a small box.
"Open it, you will find in it your destany."
she looked at the box and opened it, she gasped as she pulled the dark, blood red stone from it's case.
"The bracelet is beautiful."
"Put it on dear."
She did as she was told and held her breath as the Gatnet melded with the top of her wrist becomeing one with her skin. She pulled her coat sleeve down to cover it.
"Do not be ashamed of it. It is a part of you now. Trust in what you feel and you will accel in the task that has been handed to you."
She put a hand to her head as she felt a rush of emotions flood her heart.
"I don't understand any of this."
"You will. I promise you, you will."
she waved her hand and Cole took it as a sign to leave, as she did she did something that she thought odd to her seofl, she turned and took a low bow to the women, no Lady Karma. She inclined her head back with a delicate smile graceing ehr features. After she returned to the room that held the rest of her fellow peers she walked to the window and stood looking out of it more confused then she had ever been in her life.

"It seems that I was right," Aesera said to Alexia. "My arrival is indeed unexpected. I do understand why, of course. It's because of the actions of my grandfather, Kajo."

"Yes," Alexia replied. "After his... departure, it was assumed that the Laoresk family would no longer be one of us."

Aesera chuckled. "'Departure'. I suppose that's the polite way to describe what he did. My parents and I, however, prefer to call it what it was: betrayal. Fortunately, Kajo's attitude died with him."

"Still, I would have thought that he'd have kept the knowledge secret."

Aesera nodded. "He tried, but he didn't succeed. Daego, Kajo's son and my father, was able to rediscover the knowledge. He's always been a smart one, my father. Kajo probably would have succeeded in keeping the knowledge from most people, but not my father. Daego figured everything out on his own."

"How'd he manage that?" Alexia asked.

"Well, when Kajo abandoned his duties, Daego was nearing the age where he was to learn of those duties. He'd often heard Kajo and his wife, Kalria, mention things about some god or goddess or something. And when Kajo abandoned his duties, he and his wife became much more tight-lipped about it. Dad still overheard a few things, though, one of which was a statement by Kajo about his determination to keep the knowledge secret from Daego.

"Okay, so Daego didn't know much at this point, but he wasn't one to turn down a challenge. He began hunting for this knowledge Kajo was so determined to keep secret from him, and he did it without Kajo ever discovering what he was doing. Dad didn't have much to go on, but what he did know was enough. What he knew pointed him in the direction of religion and religious legends, so that's the area in which he looked. Eventually, he came upon the legends of Star. He'd heard enough from Kajo that when he began examining the legends of Star, he knew he'd found what he was looking for.

"Dad studied the legends of Star very thuroughly. He never doubted that any of it was true. After all, why would his parents have tried to keep the knowledge from him if it was all false? So he knew that it was all real, but he didn't know why his parents cared. It took him a while, but eventually he discovered the reason, learned of the Laoresk family's duty, the duty that Kajo had abandoned."

"I see," Alexia replied. "Just how much about your family's duty did he learn?" she asked.

"A lot," Aesera told her. "Almost undoubtably a good deal more than Kajo knew. His search uncovered quite a bit. And he made sure I knew everything, too, and that I understood and accepted my duty, which I do. And I know a lot about it, too. I know which soul has been passed through my family's bloodline, and I know of the powers that will come once it is awakened. I do not know how to control those powers, of course, but I know what to expect, and that should give me a certain advantage. I don't know as much about the rest of you, though. I've got a basic idea of what powers come with which soul, but no more than that. And I certainly don't know who has which soul."

"I see," Alexia said. "Well, that's good. I was afraid you wouldn't know much of anything."

"A valid concern. You had no way of knowing how much knowledge my family retained. Oh, and before I forget, I want to apologize for my behavior towards your maid. I did push my way through, but understand that I didn't want to be rude. I was simply concerned that the maid would describe me in an unfavorable manner, or perhaps fail to mention me to you at all. I could not take that risk. What I did was, unfortunately, necessary, nd I apologize for the rudeness I was forces to display."

"Um... apology accepted, I guess," Alexia replied.

"Good," Aesera said. "All right, I guess I should just wait here, then. I assume Lady Karma will send for me when she's done with everyone else."

Alexia nodded. "Yes. Chase told her of you, so she will send for you when she's finished with the others."

"I'll just wait here, then," Aesera said. She found a chair and sat down, awaiting the call to her meeting with Karma.

Alexia was only a few steps from the room that this strange and over the top woman now waited for her mother when Chase appeared at her shoulder. He seemed slightly frazzled by the experince but said nothing of it.

"The lady will now see Miss Aesera Laoresk," his voice was that calm high pitched tone it seemed to always be.

Alexia turned on her hills and made her way back towards the room. The older woman sat cross-legged in the three hundred year old chair with an almost smug expression on her face. Something about this woman made Alexia nervous and cautions when she was under her watchful and colorful eyes.

"My mother, Lady Karma, awaits for you. There is some one waiting for you just as you pass the study and back into the main hall." Alexia said softly, lowering her head as Miss Laoresk stood.

"Thank you," she said simply and walked past the young girl.

Alexia waited until the woman was out of hearing range and turned her attention back towards Chase. "What did mother have to say?"

"She is utterly surprised and I sensed a hint of loathing that she enters our home, my master."

"I am surprised that no dreams came to me of this." Alexia creased her face in bewilderment and searched the floor as if it held the answers she seeked. "Something is not right, Chase. This is not how it was suppose to go."

"What is wrong, my master?" Chase's voice faultered every so slightly.

"I do not know yet...but something is about to happen--something big, for the forgotten Laoresk family to return this night. Something is going to happen." Alexia's voice was throaty with emotions when I butler entered the room.

"Miss Karma, dinner is ready. Shall I find the others and have the guests sent for?" Alexia turned to see the elder gentleman smile cheerfully at her. He had not heard her and Chase's conversation.

"Yes, that would be fine, Jarrod. Thank you." Alexia did not smile with her reply.

"Of course, Miss Karma." He nodded his head and left the room.

"My master is anxious." Chase floated over to dance before Alexia's glazed eyes.

"Lets meet every one for dinner, shall we?" Alexia looked up at Chase before walking past him.

Eve splashed water on her face and looked at herself in the mirror. New highlights had appeared in her already blonde hair like thin trails of bright golden fire. So that?s what happened to the gold chain she thought, looking down at the red glimmering jewel. She wondered what everyone else was going through right now. She had been the first, so she had no way of knowing until dinner.

?Hey babe? she felt Zech run his hands down her shoulders as he nuzzled her hair back so he could lightly kiss her ear lobe. She felt a slight thrill of energy run through her over the usual comfortable feeling Zech made her feel. The soul of the God of Love. Great. She turned to face him, placing her hands on the sink edge for balance.

?Is it time already??

?Yeah, the maid type person just came in and asked me to tell you the dinner will be served shortly and we?re expected downstairs. You were in here for quite awhile.?

?You may think I ave adopted some girly habits, but I was in ere thinkin over things.?

?I figured, though I suspected you might have gotten hypnotized by the blow drier and spent the time fussing with your hair.?

?Oh, very cute.? She said, pushing past him into their room. She started for the door but paused, glanced down at herself, then turned and returned walking toward the closet.

Zech laughed ?Yeah, as much as I love seeing you in nothing but a bra, something tells me that wasn?t the first impression you were going for.?
-----------------------
They made their way to the dinning hall once again. This time Eve put on a more formal blue kee length dress and Zech had changed into slacks. The etiquette lessons were kicking in for both of them it seemed.

Once there Eve observed many of the faces she had seen before.

?I?ll be right back.? Zech whispered to her. She nodded and made her way around to sit next to a rather stiff looking quiet man on the other side of the table.

?I?m Eve Halifax? she said, extending a hand. The guy turned to her, slightly startled. He took her hand gently and winced slightly as if the gesture had hurt

?Kyne Axel.? He didn?t sound all that welcomeing, but she didn?t care, she liked a challenge.

?Are you alright? You appear ta be in some pain.?

Kyne nodded and adjusting his position he seemed to clench his teeth.

Eve shook her head ?Jus like a man, ere.? She reached over and placed a hand on his back Kyne moved away

?I'm fine ?

He looked at her conseringly for a moment and turned away again just as Zech sat down beside her and Alexia entered the room.

"Wake up!" the banging on the door startled Kairi as he found himself asleep and utterly drooling over the beautiful carpet underneath him. "Dinner is almost ready kid! Get yourself together and get yourself downstairs."

Standing up quickly but still hazey from his little nap, Kairi yawned to himself and stretched out his arms out as far as he could. Cracking his neck from left to right, then bending to crack his back, he suddenly found himself realizing that he hadn't brought any other cloths with him other than those on his back...his journey didn't allow him the luxury. Still stinking and smelly from his trip, and knowing that he dind't have enough time for a shower...Kairi took a slightly depressing sigh of worry at what the others would make of his appearance and left the room.

As he shut his door and turned down the hallway, Kairi accidently knocked into a young woman who stood fairly taller than he; he was quite short for his age.

"Excuse me...I didn't mean to bump into you like that." Kairi's voice was polite and submish as the young woman looked down at him.

"That's quite alright, I'm kinda in a bit of a rush myself. My name is Cole, what's yours?" they soon were walking together side by side down the hallway in silence...awaiting Kairi's reply.

"My name is Kairi...pleased to meet you my lady."

"Haha...no need to talk to me in that manor Kairi, I prefer Cole thank you."

Kairi smiled under the silver and black hair that hung over his face and continued to walk down the hallway till they came to the stairs.

Cole walked in front and entered the dining room first and found herself a seat while Kairi stopped at the door and looked at everyone in the room...is this everyone?

Lost in his curiosity Kairi didn't notice another man standing against the doorway like he was, looking out at the people before him. Mustering up what courage he had, Kairi presented himself to the man.

"My name is Kairi sir, who are you?" at first the tall figure was startled at looking at Kairi, as if he were out of place for such an occastion.

"The names Marquis Cicero my young friend." Marquis took the young boys hand and made a firm handshake with him. To his surpress, the boy showed some resistance in the shakes firmness.

"Why might I ask such a young boy like yourself doing here?" the man asked it as if he were full of wonder...curiosity as like Kairi before, seemed to overtake him in sorts.

"I suppose..." Kairi paused...knowing to keep his words in line...then he chuckled to lighten the mood..."I guess I'm here just like you." but Marquis didn't share the mood which quickly discouraged the young boy, and made his way around the table to find a place to sit.

Along the set up of tables many had already found their seats, except a lone chair beside a bulky looking guy who looked agitated by something on his back which a woman beside him touched for a moment. Without saying a word, Kairi sat beside him and was quite...he felt comfortable in his presense for some reason like before when they were waiting in the guest room when Cole arrived.

Looking up from his gaze at the table cloth, Kairi's eyes met the girl Alexia's for a moment which quickly caused him to avert his eyes back down. Desiding not to look up again, Kairi awaited the beginning of dinner.

Cole looked at her self in the mirror looking back down at the Garnet in her wrist.
"None of this makes any sense...And I'm scared."
She took her hair down and flipped it back shakeing it out as much as possible and then takeing another look at herself in the mirror, she was wearing a form fitting dress, white with blue emborydery. She blinked as she saw a slight change in coloring to her eyes, they were darker bkue then she remembered. She shook her head slightly and slipped on her heels as a soft knock sounded at the door. She answered it with a small smile and saw a young maid looking at her.
"Dinner is being served now Miss Cole."
"Thank you."
She straightned the dress and her hair and follwed the girl down the stairs to the dineing room and took a seat with her back to the windows. She looked up as Eve and Kyne's conversation took her attention. The falcon ever by her side nuzzled her cheek as he looked up and met her eyes, she felt her heart constrict. He looked so much like her brother it was unreal. But it couldn't be him, he had left the family when she was young. There was no possiblity that it was him. She shook her head and looked down at the dark red plate infront of her, her mind raceing.

OOC: Astdis, I thought you said that Eve was sitting opposite Kyne. I?ll be taking it as such. And Kyne must be a difficult character to get right. >>

A pained hiss escaped Kyne?s lips as he sat on a small wooden stool, facing the tiled wall of a bathroom. He had taken off his coat and his shirt to allow Aurelia to dab on numbing alcohol. Another hiss of pain echoed loudly in the bathroom.

? O-Oh? I?m sorry?? Aurelia whimpered, jerking her hand away from the blackened scars that had burned themselves onto Kyne?s back when the diamond had molded into his skin.
? Are you finished?? Kyne asked in a growl.
? J-Just a little more,? the nervous maid stammered as she applied some more alcohol onto the cotton-ball swab. She then tentatively dabbed the numbing alcohol onto the black scars. Kyne?s body tensed with pain, but there were no audible signs of pain this time.

?All done sir,? Aurelia mumbled, putting the alcohol away underneath the sink. Kyne stood, his shoulders and back aching with the now numbed pain. It was now something he could handle without letting others see that he was weakened. He slipped on his shirt and then his coat. Mayon watched from the top of the shower. The black crow was rather concerned with this new development.

That girl is terrified of you. You shouldn?t be so mean to her, Mayon cawed to his master, not game enough to land on Kyne?s shoulder. Kyne didn?t reply to Mayon?s statement. Instead, he turned and walked out of the bathroom and into his main bedroom.

Walking over to the window, Kyne looked out of it, staring at the almost dark sky. Stars twinkled ominously. It seemed that things were almost like normal. But, in the far distance, Kyne could see the orange glow of Omega?s rampage. There was a slow, dull throb of pain inside his head and another fainter throb that was being masked by the stronger one. Aurelia had disappeared out into the hallway as Kyne was looking out of the window. He stood there for minutes on end before Mayon called to his master.

Aurelia is here. She says that dinner is going to be ready soon.

Kyne nodded in reply, turning on his heel and headed towards the door. Mayon flew over to his master and landed carefully on his shoulder, cautious not to scrape his master?s new markings.

=================================================

Kyne entered into the huge, glamorous dining room. A long elegant timber dining table stood in pride of place. Aurelia moved from in front of him and led him over to his seat. Kyne nodded his thanks before seating himself. Mayon took off from his master?s shoulder and perched himself on the back of the seat. The crow took care not to scratch the lovely piece of furniture. Kyne was sure it wouldn?t impress the Lady of the House if his pet was a hindrance.

A few other people filtered into the room. A woman - another blue-eyed, blonde-haired woman ? was led to the seat opposite him, sitting down softly. She looked up at him, giving the intimidating-looking man across from her a searching look. Kyne noticed that she had been accompanied by a man that had left her presence almost immediately after entering the room.

? I?m Eve Halifax,? the woman introduced herself, stretching out a hand towards him over the wide table.
?Kyne Axel,? he replied gruffly, looking up at the woman with his dark, unenthusiastic eyes. He took her hand softly and shook it, gritting his teeth as the pain flared. He let go of her hand and withdrew it back to his side.

? Are you all right? You seem ta be in some pain??
?I?m fine,? he said, his tone almost threatening.
Eve shook her hand, a small smile thinning her lips. ? Just like a man, ere.?

The door at the end of the room clanged dully as Eve?s male companion entered the room and sat down beside her. Kyne looked to the door to see that Alexia, or the God of Fate, had also entered. He watched her with cautious glances. Something didn?t feel quite right about that girl. There was a strange sense of power around her, as if it was on the outside of her, not on the inside.

Another dull clang of the door signalled someone else had entered the room. It was the girl that looked like his sister. Mayon saw his master?s body stiffen slightly at the sight of the girl before returning to its normal state. The crow looked to the girl that resembled Amelia, and even he was caught off guard. The girl sat down besides Eve?s male companion, glancing every so often at Kyne.

A sudden feeling of danger and dread rushed through Kyne?s body. His attention immediately turned towards the doorway where a teenage boy entered the room, the look in his eyes murderous-like. He watched the boy stop and talk to a man that was leaning near the doorway. Mayon bent over near Kyne?s ear.

Master?
? I know??
What do you want me to do?
Kyne was silent for the moment, then replied to his pet softly, making sure no one overheard their conversation. ? For now, nothing.?

A soft tinkling of a bell signalled that dinner would be ready in a few moments. The man that was talking to the boy seated himself beside Kyne. The boy sat himself next to this man. Kyne turned to the man who introduced himself.

? I am Marquis Cicero, from Paris. And you are?? he asked in a semi-thick French accent, holding his hand out to shake Kyne?s. Kyne looked at him with a cool expression, but shook the man?s hand anyway.

? Kyne Axel.?

Marquis stared at his mostly naked reflection in the bathroom mirror. His body had changed, the silver white skin covering parts of his body being only one thing among the changes. His muscles looked larger, and they felt firmer too. Though that wasn't what really held his gaze, his once brown eyes were now shining silver, the color swirling like liquid within his eyes.

"Master the door, someone's knocking" Boo said creating a slight breeze to break Marquis's concentration.

Turning to the door "Come" his voice hoarse, stumbling over the word like it was unfamiliar.

Madeline quietly stepped into the room starting to speak "I was sent to tell you-oh your pardon me" Seeing Marquis clothed only in his underwear she quickly stepped back out into the hall leaving the door cracked. "I did not know you were dressing, my apologies"

"It's fine come in and shut the door" Marquis comanded walking out of the bathroom to the closet, his back to the maid. Madeline slowly obliged, though she tried to keep her eyes adverted to the floor, but stole a few peeks. "What were you saying?"

"Yes, right, Dinner is being served, I was sent to inform you" She said smoothly, though her eyes were still downcast.

"Ah I see, why do you not look at me when you speak, am I that repulsive now?" He asked sliding on one of the black pants he brought. Other then the ocasional blue jeans, Marquis normally wore black, or grey pants, and almost always black shirts, though there was the occasional white, cream and grey.

"No it isn't that..." She started to reply before Marquis cut in his voice calm and smooth, "Then what is it?"

"You're very attractive, it's just your not decent right now, " She stammered out, slightly red at admitting her attraction.

"Oh is that all, well if you want to look then do, you don't have to peek" Marquis replied kindly giving the woman a warm smile, as he turned leaving his gray shirt unbuttoned, showing a small amount of his olive skinned chest, earning a slight blush.

"I should be returning to my other duties if you will excuse me" Madeline said her composure regained, making a curtsy on her way out.

"What was that about?" Boo question, his color the worried gray again.

"Nothing Boo, nothing" Marquis said grabbing one of his long black coats, heading out the door as the threw it on, Boo floating behind him.

--------------------------------

Marquis found his way to the Dining Hall easily, though he hovered leaning on the door frame. He couldn't help but notice a child walking side by side with a woman, they both seemed to be surrounded by an aura, though Marquis shook it off. The child stopped at the door while the woman walked right in "Must be one of the maids children, pestering guests" He thought to himself but to his surprize the boy introduced himself.

"My name is Kairi sir, who are you?" The boy unexpectedly introduced himself, like.

"The name's Marquis Cicero my young friend." Marquis warmly replied extending his hand to shake. The boy took it firmly, giving a more than strong shake, too strong for a little kid. The also was a strange feeling when they touched, this boy was special, he would be needed, he held hope for the world with in him, but there was also something else, like someone else, full of anger and hate, and the feeling matched the aura.

"Why might I ask such a young boy like yourself doing here?" Marquis Curiously asked the boy, wanting to know more, to try and place reason to his feeling.

"I suppose..." Kairi started before pausing, starting again with a chuckle "I guess I'm here just like you." Though the answer didn't help the thoughts or feeling within Marquis, as he zoned out thinking.

In his daze Marquis left without answering the question, taking a seat at the table so he could look out the windows, all the people but one had auras around them. "I guess that was kind of rude, I'll apologize later, maybe then I can get some answers" He thought realizing he left the boy who was now sitting at the table next to him. Boo had retreated to a corner, he didn't like being around people he wasn't comfortable with, but he wouldn't leave Marquis's side unless told.

Looking up from the table he made eye contact with the woman that greeted him apon ariving an, "What was her name, Alexia if I remember right," Studying her from across the table he continued to think, "She looks strong and fierce, a strange beauty eminates as well, I feel almost drawn to he, it's strange" His thoughts stopped as her eyes connected with his, they seemed to be furnace gates, something behind them burning strongly but held back. They remained locked on eachother for a moment before they both turned away. Marquis turning his attention away to the tall dark looking man he sat across from, who's aura seemed to be the darkest as well, matching his character.

"I am Marquis Cicero, from Paris. And you are?" He extended his hand across the table towards the man who looked at it, as if debating whether to shake it.

"Kyne Axel" He answered smoothly although his voice seemed cold, he didn't seem that interested in talking as well.

"That was weird, I felt something but what, strange" Marquis thought looking down at one of the crosses on the back of his hand.

Picking up a glass of wine that had been poured, Marquis put it to his lips taking a sip. Swallowing roughly he began to cough, he couldn't taste it as all he could tell that there was liquid in his mouth but no taste at all, even water had more taste. Still coughing a woman from across the table looked over sympatheticly.

"You alright over there, need ta take it easy with the wine, eh"

"It's not that, Just wasn't expecting something, Marquis Cicero by the way" Marquis managed to choke out finally, the coughing stopping.

"Whateva ya say, I'm Eve Halifax, and this is Zech" She replied scepticly, motioning to the man at her side at the mention of his name.

"How goes it mate?" Zech added standing to stretching his hand across the table for a shake.

Marquis gave him a firm shake, standing to not make it akward. They seemed nice, and he wouldn't have minded a conversation, but his eyes were drawn to the glass of wine.

OOC: I hope that is ok, sorry I didn't get around to interacting with your character Knuckles' Girl, I didn't forget I'm just tired. It's another one of those monsters DC lol, I make them even when I'm tired.

*EDIT* I changed Marquis's sitting location to match with Astdis'a post, so now he is sitting across from Eve, Kyne and Zech.

As Aesera reentered the main hall, she was not surprised to see the same maid who'd answered the door when she first arrived. "Follow me, please," the maid said, still doing an excellent job of concealing her dislike of Aesera. "I will take you to Lady Karma."

As Aesera followed the maid, her thoughts were on the upcomming meeting with Karma. It was clear from Alexia's reaction to her presence that Aesera's suspicions had been correct; she had not been expected to show up. Aesera wondered if it went beyond that. Had Karma perhaps been hoping that Aesera wouldn't come? And if so, would she be willing to give Aesera that which was needed to awaken the God of Honesty's soul?

It didn't take long to reach Karma's room. The maid gestured for Aesera to enter, and she did so while the maid remained outside. Lady Karma was waiting for her. "Please be seated," Karma said. Aesera nodded and took a seat opposite Karma.

Karma looked over Aesera. "Aesera Laoresk. I must say, this is quite unexpected."

"I thought it would be," Aesera replied, "and I understand completely. After Kajo's betrayal, it was probably assumed that the Laoresk family wouldn't return. An understandable conclusion, even though it turned out to be innacurate."

"I thought that you probably wouldn't know anything about your family's duty. It was assumed that Kajo kept the information from his son."

Aesera nodded. "He certainly tried, but Dad was too smart and clever for Kajo." She proceeded to tell Karma what she'd previously told Alexia.

"I am pleased that you know so much," Karma said after Aesera had finished. "Of course, a potential lack of knowledge wasn't the only concern. Another concern was your attitude towards your duty. After all, Kajo abandoned his duty; one of his descendants could easily do the same."

"Daego figured out a solution," Aesera told Karma. "I told you he was smart and clever. One of the reasons none of us learned of our duty before a certain age is because of the tendancy for children to resent their parents. But Daego, instead of avoiding that, used it. He and my mother, Maria, would 'accidentally' mention something about it from time to time, and every time I asked about it, I was told that it was 'private business'.

"As you can probably imagine, my desire to know grew over time. Daego, of course, had been counting on this. I already knew that he kept information about the subject in a binder, as I'd seen it on several occasions, though I never saw any of its contents. Well, one day Daego allowed be to see where he put it, though he did it well enough that I never suspected he'd let me see. So as soon as I had an opportunity to do so without my parents knowing, I went and grabbed the binder. There was a lot of info inside it, though it was incomplete. However, what I learned from the binder was more than enough to tell me the basics. From there, I searched for information much as my father had before me. And like my father, I had no doubts about the truth of what I learned. I thought that my parents didn't know what I was doing, but they did, as it was the responsmy actions were what they'd been aiming for.

"Eventually, of course, Daego revealed to me what he'd done. At that time, however, I was old enough that I was able to understand why he'd done it. Basically, Daego got me to discover everything for myself, much like he'd discovered everything for himself."

"Interesting," Karma said. "You father does indeed seem to be a clever and intelligent individual."

Aesera nodded. "Indeed he is. I am fortunate to have him as my father. Now, I'm sorry if this sounds a bit rude, as no offense is meant, but I think we've spent enough time on my family's history. Let's get down to business."

"No offense taken," Karma assured Aesera. "We probably should get down to business."

Karma stood up and grabbed a small, wooden box that was sitting on a desk. She opened it up and removed the object inside. The object appeared to be a headband, and it had a large jewel on it.

"This is yours," Karma said as she walked over to Aesera. "I'll admit that I have my doubts about giving this to you, but your grandfather's actions are not yours, so I will try not to judge you by them."

Aesera stood up as Karma approached and handed the object to her. Aesera lifted her hair and slid the headband over her head so that the jewel was on the back of her head, and she let her hair down to cover it. "I don't want the mark to be easily visible," she explained to Karma. "This way, I can pass as an ordinary human if need be."

Suddenly, Aesera became extremely disoriented. She found herself unable to see, hear, or even think clearly. This only lasted for a couple seconds, though, after which Aesera's senses normalized. Her mind, however, was not the same.

So this is what it feels like, Aesera thought. The powers she'd known would come with the awakening of the God of Honesty's soul had indeed come. Aesera could now see into the minds of others. She could read their thoughts and emotions, and she gained mastery over her powers, she would be able to go deep into a person's mind, uncover thoughts and memories long since buried in the recesses of the person's mind. But at the moment, Aesera didn't know how to control her powers. She was getting Karma's thoughts and emotions, but not only could she not yet go deep into Karma's mind, she couldn't even control her powers enough to direct them away from Karma's mind. She was invading the privacy of Karma's mind, and she wasn't yet able to stop herself from doing so.

"It would seem that your feelings towards me are not nearly as severe as I'd feared," Aesera told Karma. "You've done much better than I expected in putting aside your oppinion of my grandfather. There does seem to be some lingering doubt, though. Am I the only one you have doubts about?"

Aesera didn't wait for Karma's answer. She didn't need to, as she could see it in Karma's mind. "I'm not? Surprising. Who is the other you have doubts about? Kairi. And why do you doubt him? Wait- he's- he did- I see. Your reasons for doubting him are quite valid, though I think you may be judging him a bit much by actions he took so long ago. Still, your concern is vaild. You do not know if he can be trusted. I must say, I find the irony here quite amusing. The only two among us you doubt are Honesty and Loyalty."

"Ys, that is somewhat ironic, isn't it?" Karma replied. "Unfortunately, I know of no way to resolve my doubts about Kairi."

"Really?" Aesera said. "Because I find the solution to be quite obvious. I assume we'll all be meeting each other? It's happening now, is it? Well, then I'd best finish here quickly. When I meet the others, I will examine Kairi's mind, and then when I get the chance to do it in private, I will tell you what I see inside his mind."

"That's- you're right, that should work. I'm sorry, I'm still not used to the idea o you being here."

"I know," Aesera told Karma. "Now, I should get going. I will join the others shortly, though there is one thing I want to do first. As of right now, I have no control over my powers. Before I meet the others, I want at least some basic control. At the very least, I want to be able to contain it so that I'm not continuously getting everyone's thoughts and emotions. I'd go crazy if that were the case. So I'll be a bit late to the gathering, but I will go as soon as I've gained that basic control over my powers."

Aesera left Karma's room. She remained in the hall until she was ready, then told the maid to take her. The maid, who's name Aesera could now see was Selia, led Aesera to the dining hall.

--------------------------------------------------

OOC: demonchild781, tell me if I need to change anything. And everyone else, feel free to have Aesera enter the room. Just don't have her say or do anything involving Kairi. I'm doing that part myself.
