Kabato was laying down on a bed in one of the random in the ridiculously over sized house. Waiting for everyone to go had caused him to gain a sense of wanderlust. Eventually he twisted himself around and just decided to call it a day. He figured the Chi emitted from this room was for him to begin with. It seemed odd to him that his room was already waiting for him.

Kabato sighed as he laid with his eyes shut on the bed. It was quite comfortable and quite here. In most of the other rooms he heard the commotion downstairs. So many people so little interest. For the most part Kabato disliked those that weren't from his country. Most would call it a strong national pride but the truth was he didn't want to try and protect more then he could. His country he could handle but if he had to watch after anyone else it would become to much of a burden.

"Sneaking around isn't very polite." Kabato opened one eye up to see Alexia standing in the doorway.

"I wasn't sneaking, how nice of you to have found your room all by yourself you are a talented one." Alexia stood with her arms crossed leaning against the wall near the door way.

"I can see better with my eyes cloths then i can with them open." Kabato sat up and shrugged.

"That?s very interesting......we are somewhat pressed for time and you really should go meet the others." Alexia held her hand forward and a gold necklace with a large yellow jewel in it.

"I?m touched but i think this relationship is moving a little to fast." Kabato rubbed his head and noticed Alexia wasn't smiling.

"My mother lady Karma would like to speak to you, she also said that she would give you this if you came along." Alexia dangled the jewel in front of Kabato.

"This lady Karma knows the way to a mans heart...jewelry...i suppose its the effort that counts. Lead the way ill listen to what good Karma has to say....haha good Karma..." Kabato rubbed his head again this time he managed to get Alexia to crack a smile.

"Follow me." Alexia turned and walked out the door.

Kabato shut his eyes and peered down the hall as she walked. Her body gave off a dark blue aura. "This might be interesting." he mumbled to himself opening his eyes as he stepped forward.

Alexia led Kabato into a room where Lady Karma was standing gracefully. Alexia held out the jewel to lady Karma then instantly dissapeared.

"An illusion.....i thought the chi was a little funny." Kabato waved his hand around in the area where the illusion once stood.

"Yes...unfortunately Alexia is busy with the rest of our gusts and even i don't have much time at the moment.... I will be blunt with you because you are the type of person who dislikes beating around the bush." Lady Karma held out the Necklace. "A time is going to come where you are going to have to fight and protect people. People in this house, people in this world. Are you going to be able to deal with this?" Lady Karma continued to hold out the necklace.

"Since we are being honest...no promises. Ill stick around here for a bit since it seems to be interesting but i can?t promise to protect that many people. If i deem the situation appropriate i will raise arms and fight." Kabato reached up and grabbed the necklace. Instead of putting it oh he wrapped it around the hilt of his sword. "Sorry im not much for jewelry." He turned around waving his hand. "I guess ill go make an appearance at the party." Kabato walked out the door leaving Lady Karma standing alone in the room with a perplexed look across her face.

Kabato wandered around until he managed to find his way downstairs. As he prepared to enter the room Lady Karma appeared behind him.

"You left quite a bit sooner then me what took you so long." Lady Karma gave Kabato a side long glace.

"Lady your house is huge...I am pretty sure i crossed at least four differnt countries trying to find my way back here." Kabato slummped over fakeing exahustion.

Lady Karma covered her mouth slightly to hide her smile. "You are a weird one. Shall we go in...everyone is waiting for us." Lady Karma reached forward opening the door.

ooc hope this is ok sorry i got a little busy in real life.

Alexia entered the dinning hall to find that a few of the others and already beaten her there, not that it was a big deal. She still couldn't remember all their names yet, but she was certian she would soon.

Chase had disappeared some where, probably to have his own dinner, as Alexia walked through the room and took the far seat at the very end of the long table. This was the place her father would have sat had he still been alive. And if he had, would she have taken the God of Fate's soul into her body? Of course you would have. The souls' do not take human form every generation, they're selective remember. Alexia told herself.

She sat at the table watching them interract. Kairi seemed to be making himself fit in just fine, but that was probably because no one knew the secret he held. Her eyes kept trying to wonder over to Kyne. It wasn't his appearance that pulled at her, but something within his soul. The God of Hate. How could the God of Hate be drawing her so forcefully towards him.

She looked about the room, ignoring the actual layout and furnishing since she had grown up in this odd and masterful house. That's when she caught...Marquis was it? The guy from Paris with the God of Hope burning brightly in his silver eyes. He was looking at her, watching her. What was he thinking? A warmth surrounded those eyes that would normally have been discribed as cold.

Her attention was drawn away when the woman, Aesera Laoresk, entered the dinning hall. Instantly Alexia felt herself grow numb and cold, a tightening in her chest. This woman's power was dangerous and threatening. It would cause many conflicts she was sure of it. She watched as the woman took one of the last seats closest to where her mother would sit on the other end of the table. The room seem to go strangely quiet allowing Alexia to notice that they had set the table with seats just enough for all of their guests.

The door opened once more to reveal Alexia's mother and the last of their new companions, Kabato. Alexia made brief eye contact with her mother to confirm things were alright and then watched the two of them take the last remaining seats. Her mother nodding towards her daught once she took her seat.

Alexia fumbled with her gloves before rising. "Welcome, strangers and honored guests to the Fate Mansion. I am Alexia Karma and you have all had the pleasure of meeting my mother, Lady Karma." Alexia extended a black gloved hand towards the opposite end of the table. Most every one turning their heads to look at her. "If you have not figured out why you are here I shall tell you. More than two thousand years ago Isabel and Dontae, gods full of vengence, sealed Star into the depths of the Earth to punish the Earth bound creatures for worshiping Star and not them. But when we refused to believe in them still after the two gods vowed they would return to destroy Earth. An arm has started to be created by those weak of heart or sinful by the spawn you may have all run across. Black slug like creatures that enter any where in the human body and posses them. Their two greatest threats are the titans, Omega and Alpha." Alexia paused, that feeling of something terrible to come taking over her again.

"My mother and our family have been charged with the safe keeping of the other halves of your souls for many centuries now. Of course, you've all had the souls within you since birth, but now they are fully awaken. With training we can defeat the titans and set the Earth free of Isabel and Dontae."

"Isn't there another part to that legend," Aesera stated rather than asked. "That when the titans appear on Earth that Star has been reborn on the mortal plan."

Alexia nodded, "yes. For tonight, we will drink merely and come accustom to one another. Tomorrow, we start training at the break of dawn." Alexia sat back down as the first dishes were brought in by servants. Every ones favorite dish displayed before them by their master cook.

Cole looked down at the food infront of her and figeted with a strand of hair on her shoulder.
"This is an awful lot of trouble to make this. I know it takes a bit of time"
She looked down at the small lamb roast on her plate, she cut into it and smiled in approval as the meat cut soft and clean like butter, the inside pink and juicey. She took a small bite and closed her eyes smileing fully as the meat mealted in her mouth.
"My goodness, this is absolutly delicious."
The cook in the corner bowed low.
"Thank you Ma'am."
She inclined her head in return and continued her meal. She Continued to eat and noticed under the lamb that there was a array of mixed vegetables steamed in what tasted like lemon pepper, she smiled in appreciation and ate them slowly and in small bites so she looked proper. Though truth be told, living on her own this was the best meal she had had in a long while, she was hungry, but did not want to look like, in simple terms, a pig. She picked up her glass and blinked as the butler filled it with wine almost instantly. She shook her head.
"I-I'm sorry. I don't drink."
"What may I get for you then Ms. Blue?"
"Please, no need for that, just Cole. Please."
"Ms. Cole?"
She sighed and looked back up at the waiting butler.
"Just ice water please."
He nodded and left comeing back with a clear galss of cold ice water.
"Thank you very much."
She took a sip and smiled as it cooled her mouth off cleaning her palte for the next dish. She looked up at the man called Kyne and let her eyes take him all in. She knew in her heart that she was familiar with him, it was scary. She continued to watch him and thought that he was colder and more menacening looking than her brother. But there was something about him that she knew, she knew. She shook her head and looked back at him, he was looking at her as well. His eyes widened slightly, his face staying in that straight, dark scowl though. He looked away quickly and went back to his meal. She looked down as more of the food was placed on her plate.

Behind Kyne, the sounds of a quartet of musicians echoed melodiously through the grand room. A plate was set down in front of him from his left, Aurelia?s delicate hand trembling as she withdrew away. Mayon had moved himself to the girl?s shoulder, trying to make comfort her in the presence of Kyne.

Kyne looked down at the meal Aurelia had brought him. Interestingly enough, it was his favourite meal. A thick fillet of steak, cooked to perfection, with crisp potato chips and a small pot full of thick peppercorn gravy. For a moment, Cole could have sworn a small smile curved an edge of Kyne?s lips before he took up his cutlery and began to eat. The food was delicious. The aromas of everyone?s meals made his stomach ache for more.

As he continued to eat, soft conversations began around the table. Beside him, Eve and Zech were talking amongst themselves joyously, as if they weren?t in the company of strangers. His eyes wandered over to Alexia and Cole. The two were talking softly, if not awkwardly with each other. But every now and again, Cole would glance towards Kyne. Kyne would guide his look from her and to the window near her when she looked.

He then looked to Marquis and Kairi. The two were talking to each other in short spurts as they ate their meals. That boy ? he must be the youngest of them all. For one so young, he seemed to fit in rather well. Kyne looked around the table, realising he was the oldest of the group. A small smile thinned his lips, but it vanished as soon as it came.

? Aurelia,? he said clearly.
The young girl jumped slightly as she heard Kyne say her name. She quickly stepped towards him. ? Y-Yes sir??
? Red wine. I would like some.?
? Certainly sir. Any particular one you have in mind??

Kyne shook his head, and with that, Aurelia disappeared into the kitchen ? Mayon still perched on her shoulder ? obviously going to fetch the drink that he requested. Moments later, the young maid returned with a bottle in her hand. She put it down carefully and took his wine glass. After popping the cork with a little difficulty, she poured the rich red liquid into the glass without it sloshing around much.

? Thank you,? Kyne said as she finished pouring and put the bottle down in a bucket of ice nearby him. Aurelia blushed at his gratitude and stepped back into her place in the line of waiters and waitresses.

He took a sip of the wine.
Very nice.

As he savoured the flavour of the wine, his eyes wandered over to Alexia. That sense of power around her intrigued him.

Ae everyone ate, Aesera looked at the variety of people sitting around the table. Aesera knew that was important for them all to master their powers. Unfortunately, there probably wouldn't be enough time to do so. The spawn were already infesting the planet, and the titans were causing havok, as well. Time wasn't a luxury they were likely to have much of.

Aesera relaxed her hold on her powers, and the thoughts and feelings of the others in the room began flowing in. As a whole, it was too much to make sense of, but by focusing on a particular person, Aesera was able to focus her powers on that person only. It took her a few tries to do so, but she did manage it.

Aesera examined the minds of the seven others, one by one. By doing so, she knew, she would learn more about them than by simply observing them normally or interacting with them. She was pleased by the variety she found. A diverse set of outlooks made it more likely that the best option would be chosen. However, she wasn't pleased at the level of knowledge she found in their minds. Some of them didn't know much, and a couple hadn't known anything until Karma had told them.

Aesera was surprised by some of the things she found in Alexia's mind. One was a piece of information that Aesera hadn't been aware of, that the souls were selective within the bloodline. She also found a surprising amount of dislike and concern towards herself in Alexia's mind. Alexia thought that Aesera's abilities were dangerous, and would create unneeded conflict. Aesera knew that she wasn't fully trusted, but she hadn't expected Alexia's level of distrust and concern. However, she was quite pleased that Alexia understood the potential deadlieness of Aesera's powers. While they wouldn't be as useful as others in the heat of battle, Aesera's abilities were still quite potent, and their overall usefulness more than compensated for their slightly diminished usefulness during combat.

Finally, Aesera came to Kairi. The contents of Kairi's mind were... well, unusual. Aesera'd learned of Kairi's situation from Karma's mind, but it took seeing Kairi's mind for everything to sink in. Kairi, it seemed, was quite literally of two minds. Aesera picked up the mind she'd expected, Kairi's, but there was also something else, something that Kairi knew about. Aesera learned from Kairi's mind that he thought of this... other as 'the beast'. She paid particular attention to Kairi's memories and feelings about his meeting with Karma.

After examining Kairi's mind, Aesera supressed her powers again. As she ate, she contemplated what she'd seen in Kairi's mind. Eventually, she arrived at a conclusion. At that time, she got out of her chair and exited through the door she'd entered through, making a subtle gesture at Karma indicating that she should follow.

Karma emerged from the dining hall, closing the door behind her, and faced Aesera. "Is this about Kairi?" she asked.

Aesera nodded. "Indeed. I looked into his mind as I told you I would."

"What did you find?"

"Quite a bit," Aesera began. "First, this 'beast' of his really does seem to be a seperate entity. I thought it was just a metaphor, but I was wrong. The beast is there, and it's seperate from Kairi. There is, I think, contact between them, usually the beast trying to convince Kairi to give himself over to it. Kairi hasn't given in yet, though, and he doesn't want to. He seems to hope that Star will somehow save him from this beast of his.

"Now, about your refusal to give Kairi your part of the gem. I think you made the right decision, and though this may be unexpected, so does Kairi. He knows that if he was to be given your part of the gem, he would be unable to control the beast, unable to keep it contained. And yet, at the same time, he resents you for refusing to give your part of the gem to him. I don't think you made a good impression on him when the two of you met. Could you perhaps recall your meeting with him?"

Aesera released her powers and examined Karma's mind, getting Karma's meeting with Kairi from Karma's perspective. "I see," Aesera said. "Yes, I think you didn't exactly make the best impression. He resents you, and after the attitude you took towards him, that's not surprising. You can't give him your part of the gem yet, and he knows this, but the manner in which you declared this wasn't exactly optimal. I fear you may have given the beast something to use.

"Okay, so that's what I saw. Now I'll tell you what I think should be done about it. First of all, Kairi needs to know that he can truse us. I doubt that he'll ever get to like you after your attitude in that meeting, but myself and the others are a different story. If he can learn to trust us, then perhaps he will be better able to fend off the beast. If he realizes that he is not alone, not isolated because of past actions, then maybe he can win over the beast even if given your part of the gem.

"Okay, so here's my recommendation. At some point, I'm guessing sooner rather than later, we'll all be leaving here to do our duty. When we're going to leave, I think you should give your part of the gem to one of us. I recommend you give it to Alexia, as she is the one you know the best, and therefore the one you trust the most. Now, while we're out there doing what we must, I'll keep tabs on Kairi's mental state. At such time as he is able to fight off the beast, Alexia would give him your part of the gem."

After thinking for a bit, Karma nodded in agreement. "Yes, I think you're right. I shall give my part of the gem to Alexia when you all leave here."

"Good," Aesera replied. "Oh, one more thing. Kairi shouldn't know that we're doing this. I don't want him trying to fake his way into getting the gem sooner. In fact, I think it's best if you tell nobody but Alexia, and I see in your mind that you agree. So, will you then tell her as soon as an opportunity presents itself? Yes, I see that you intend to do just that. All right, then. I have nothing more to say, and I see that neither do you, so let's head back in, shall we?"

Aesera followed Karma back into the dining hall, and the two of them sat down. "What was that about," the one named Kyne asked.

"Personal business," Aesera replied. Kyne accepted this, and Aesera could see that generally, everyone else did as well, though a couple possibly still had their doubts. But nobody said anything, and even if they had, Aesera wouldn't have told them the truth. But she didn't have to lie, as no further questions were asked about it. Aesera supressed her powers again, and resumed eating her meal.

Alexia felt that dread slipping over her as she shoved the food on her plate around, she hadn't even taken in what the cooks had made her. Something she liked, she assumed, but what--she had not a clue. She watched with dazed expression as Aesera and her mother left the room, returning after some time.

Harder it pulled at her. Painful breathes squeezing in and out of her lungs. Her heart hadn't begun to race yet. She felt light headed, dizzy. And with a sudden rush, she stood, her chair toppling over behind her.The room fell silent, everyones attention turning towards her.

"Alexia?" Her mother's voice slipped over her. "Daughter, what's wrong?"

Before Alexia could reply a horrible crash shook the whole mansion as Alexia watched the room behind the dinning hall collaspe. Now she could see the night skiy, the burning city, and the dark hair covered leg of none other than Omega. Screams filled the night air as the servants began to panic and the others rushed to their feet.

"Mother!?" Alexia shouted as her mother disappeared through the open door with Jarod, her personal butler. Alexia stumbled around the table and made it only half way to the door when Aesera grabbed her by the arm.

"You can't go after her." She said firmly.

Alexia stared up at the woman with wide, child-like eyes. After all, she was only seventeen. Alexia turned around to see a few of the guests heading towards the back of the room as Omega roared above the chaos and slammed another hideous arm into the massive building.

"Kyne! Kabato! Come with Aesera and I to the armory. The rest of you," Alexia stole herself away from the older woman and towards the back wall. She raised her fist and slammed it just below a shelf. A small wooden door popped open. "Use this passage to get out of this room and back to the main hall. Try to get every one out of here. We'll meet back up with you." Alexia darted back past the other three and out the main door.

They had no trouble keeping up with her as she avoided debri and people. Lives had already been lost and spawns were starting to raise among both the dead and the living. Alexia casually pulled her gloves from her hands and shoved them into her jean's pockets, her scars pulsing brightly in the night sky.

Three steps from the stair case that lead down into the depths of the mansion towards the armory a dozen spawn infected servants stood before them, Omega's cry sounding out in the night air. The roof still remained her, but who knew for how long.

Alexia lowered her head and looked up at the spawn, an expression of disgust taking hold of her whole being. She was prepared for battle as the first spawn charged forward. She watched them come at her, the others ready to step in. The man was about to tackle her down when she placed her bare hands upon either ear. The man screamed out in horrific pain, shaking and trying to pull away, but her strength had improved with the unlocking of her soul and she held firm. It was brief, and the man dropped dead, ashes pouring from his right ear. The others charged at them all at once.

"Kyne! Kabato! Come with Aesera and I to the armory. The rest of you," Alexia raised her fist and slammed it just below a shelf. A small wooden door popped open. "Use this passage to get out of this room and back to the main hall. Try to get every one out of here. We'll meet back up with you." Alexia darted back past the other three and out the main door.

Eve shoved herself back from the table as her servant was knocked across the table by a falling piece of ceiling.

?Grab her Zech. Let?s go?

They moved where Alexia had directed them and Zech laid Anna on the marble floor of the hall by Eve. He then went and started helping people escape. Eve checked Anna over finding a large gash on her head. Eve went to touch the wound and her hands tingled with warmth, and then began to glow. As she watched the wound knitted itself and Anna came back to consciousness.

?What happened??

Eve shook her head and helped Anna to her feet. ?Later, get out of 'ere? Eve pointed toward the door and went to help Zech. There was a loud hiss and an orange blur hit her leg and bolted up her landing claws in on her shoulder.

marrowww Faith youwled loudly next to her ear. Eve rolled her eyes

?Yes we saw it, omega?s kinda ?ard to miss ya know.?

murrr Faith curled up and affixed herself firmly to Eve. Eve found Zech pulling someone from under the rumble. He turned to her

?Give me a hand.? She rushed over and together they pulled him out. Zech threw the unconscious body over his shoulder and they ran for the doors. Out on the far edge of the front lawn, the rest of the group had laid out the injured and were waiting for Alexia. Zech and Eve joined them

?Faith, go back in and find Alexia. Find out if she needs any more back up.?

marrow

?You?ll get over it, now ?urry?

Faith leaped down and ran back toward the mansion, disappearing into thin air before she was half way there. Eve turned her attention to the wounded workers and knelt beside them, moving her hair out of her face to check over their injuries?

...they found us....no....she'll know where I am...I can't go back!

At first when Alexia spoke her instructions, Kairi didn't hear anything that she had said...his full attention was fixed upon the beast that now hovered over them in its massiveness. The once beautiful and eligant mansion was quickly becoming a pile of rubble.

"Kairi!" a firm grip on his shoulder from Marquis snapped him out of his trance as Cole, Zech and Eve were already making their way out the passage along with the maid. Out of the corner of Kairi's eye he could see two more butlers being crushed under the weight of some boards from the collapsed roof.

The roar of Omega was deafining as Marquis and Kairi both stood exposed to the beasts wrath. Flexing the muscles in his right arm, Kairi's demenor of a small child changed to a very intense and concentrated form. As Marquis continued to shake Kairi in an attempt to move him and looking up at the beast before them as it continued to rampage through the mansion, he didn't realize the boards on top of the butlers were now flooting in the air.

With a thrust of Kairi's palm towards Omega, the wooden boards bolted towards the monster and struck it in its right eye with it responding in an scream of agony. Marquis's hand was still firm on Kairi's shoulden when Kairi grabbed it with his right arm with a tight grip.

"Get them out of here!...You all must live!" without waiting for a response, Kairi burst into a run right towards the now destructed parts of the mansion in the opposite direction of the secret passage that Alexia had shown.

"Come on you piece of shit! I'm right here! You know who I am! Come and get me!" Kairi continued to call our insults and swears at the beast, trying to get its attention away from everyone else who were now running through the parts of the mansion not destroyed yet.

To Omega, Kairi looked like an ant...which made it very good for Kairi to hide amongst the rubble. The monster growled in annoyance as it attempted to follow it's prey in slow moving strides. Behind a section of the fallen roof Kairi panted and shook with adrenaline as the rush of the moment almost overtook him. The sudden actions that he made weren't typical for him to do...

Behind his silver-glass eyes a tint of gold flooded his pupils and just as quickly left him as he looked up at the monster from his hiding place.

Lets play... looking at a couple brick sections of the mansions fallen siding, Kairi outstretched his palm once again and flung them at Omegas backside. The beast immidiately turned its attention around, only to be hit yet again in the ass by another plank.

The New York air began to pick up and became a bitter cold as Omega's black hair blew in the wind. It was a good couple minutes that Kairi preoccupied the monster like this; directing its aggression towards something that wasn't there. Moving quietly and swiftly from one place to another, Kairi avoided being seen, knowing he couldn't stand a chance against Omega in this form.

Suddenly, as another wooden plank hit the side of Omega, it didn't move nor respond to the attack...it simply stood with it's back to Kairi with no affect of damage or even irritation.

"Shit..." was all that Kairi was able to mutter under his breath when the monster suddenly turned around with amazing speed and slammed its fist right where Kairi had been hiding...damn wind...it changed and made me downhill.

Despite Kairi's attempts to jump away from the impact of Omega's attack, the impact on the rubble and ground sent Kairi flying across the ground and into a wooden siding.

The ground shook from underneath him as he tried to bring himself to his feet. A small piece of wood was inbedded into Kairi's left shoulderblade as he stood. Screaming in pain, Kairi ripped the shard out. Blood began to soak his cloths as he looked up and stood in defiance of the creature.

"I will not return to her..." his trembling words under the surpression of pain in his back came out strong as any child could. Omega in all of it's glory and power stopped a few yards away and looked down upon Kairi; both of their gazes meeting one another.

Without warning spawns of the fallen butlers and maids began to emerge from the rubble and surrounded Kairi. His gaze fell from the monsters face and onto his present predicament as Omega turned and continued its destruction of the mansion; as if it were on a mission.

Out of the corner of his eye, Kairi could see on the far side of the property where the road lay, people began to pour out of the mansion. He was sure that some of the reincarnates were with them. good...they're safe for now...

Looking back to the adversaries that now were closing in on him, Kairi held forth his right hand, attemping...don't do it... A foreign voice entered his mind and quickly stopped him from his current actions. ...You're not ready...if Isabell learns that you're still able to control your powers as the God of Loyalty...their cause will be lost...as well as your own...

At this point in Kairi's life, voices weren't strange nor uncommon...but this was different. Quickly trusting the voice within him, Kairi lowered his hand to his side and looked down. The gem on his right wrist began to glow in the shining of the stars above. A slight smirk came across the young boys face as he felt the power of gem spread through him. The veins in his arm began to pulse excessively as a black sphere began to form in his palm incompused with a red glass lining.

Looking up from the ground towards the spawn who were now in arms length of grabbing him, Kairi clutched his fist together and formed a large broadsword in his hand and swung it over his head in a circular motion around his entire body; forming some space between him and the enemy.

"In Star's name..." and with that, Kairi was upon them.

OOC: If you've ever played Soul Caliber, the amulet on Kairi's wrist generates weapons like the character Necron (sp?) from the game. Everything else will be explained as story progresses.

Kabato raised his eyebrow watching the spawn die from Aliexia's touch. "Pretty flashy." He smiled and let his arms drop to his sides. Shutting his eyes the world around him began to glow wit Chi. The people Kabato had come down the stairs with all gave off a shade of blue chi. The spawns gave off a disgusting mix of Red and blue chi that made Kabato sigh in disgust.

Kabato stepped in front of Alexia and pushed her back slightly. "Please deal with the ones about to come through the walls...i will deal with ones in front of us." Alexia raised her eyebrow, to the sides of Alexia and the others the walls exploded and various spawns began to stumble forward.

"How did you kn....." Alexia ducked and grabbed one of the spawns from behind. The spawn let out a scream and slumped to the ground shaking.

"Now is not the time....Please...i will clear the path." Kabato turned his attention to the swarm of spawn blocking there path down the hall way. "My blade will not be needed for the likes of you." Kabato spaced his feet out and bent his knees while raising his hands up in front of him. The spawns hissed and began to charge forward clawing at the air.

The first spawn to reach Kabato swung its clawed hand down aiming for his chest. Kabato slid his feet back slightly and came down with his fingers pushing down on the clawed hand. The spawn stumbled forward and was met by the back of Kabato's heel sending him smashing into one of the other groups of spawns on the side. Two other spawns jumped forward as Kabato was back on his heels. Kabato fell back catching himself with his hands he pushed his feet up into the air, Rotating his body he drove both of his spinning heels into the chests of the two spawn sending them smashing into the roof. The spawns smashed off the roof and landed in front of the rest of the group who stopped short and looked at Kabato with absolute hatred in there eyes.

Kabato landed back on his feet and went back into his stance. "The light.....guides souls back to the heart...of mother earth." Kabato's Chi shifted and the color changed to Pale green. The dirt around Kabato began floating around him. "Punishment......" Kabato blurred slightly as he pushed his foot forward propelling himself into the group of spawn.

Kabato flashed into the middle of the group of spawn. One spawn tried to reach for his arm. Kabato shifted his weight and grabbing the spawn he threw it into two others sending them smashing into the wall. From behind another spawn tried to jump onto Kabato?s back, Kabato leaned his weight forward and stood on his hands. Pushing himself up he drove both of his into the spawns face sending it reeling to the ground. As he came back down a group of spawn were waiting to pile onto him. Kabato landed back on his hands, bending them he lowered himself slightly then began to spin himself by rotating his arms. Extending his legs out he spun driving his legs into the swarm of spawn around them. In a moment all most simultaneously there bodies seem to explode backwards as the group of spawn slammed into the walls and roof above. ?Is that all you have?..i haven?t even warmed up yet.? Kabato flipped back onto his feet and saw that the spawn in front were all on the ground not moving. Quickly he turned his attentions back to where everyone else was fighting to see if anyone needed help.

Cole shook the dust from her eyes and looked up horrified as Kairi ran downt he hall after Omega as a distraction.
"I'm going to help him! You guys keep working!"
She took off at a dead sprint, slipping the dress down off of her body to show a pair of tight spandex shorts and a sports bra, she was going to go run after the dinner, it seemed a waste to let the attire not get any attention. She kicked out of her heels and took off faster now that she was bare foot. She panted as she rounded the corner and saw the young man standing there ready to do or die.
"You idiot! You could be killed!"
She ran up to him seeing the blood seeping through his shirt and cursed under her breath, his eyes windened as did her's. She never used that language and wasn't used to saying it. She shook her head dissmissing it as the soul inside of her. She looked down as the gem in her wrist began to glow gently, she felt an odd need to put her palm on his shoulder and did so out of pure insticnt. She blinked as a red hot heat seared through her hand, when she pulled away, his wound was gone and sealed cleanly.
"I-I don't know...I didn't...How?"
He pulled her aside as a piece of rubble fell from the cieling.
"Why did you come back?!"
"I came to help you. Is that so bad?"
"When you don't know what your doing? Yes!"
"Well deal with it! I'm here to help wether you like it or not shrimp!"
She looked up as Omega tore through another portion of the house.
"We have to do something...get him away from here or something."
"You think?"
"Back off."
She looked over at him and sighed as she realized that he saw what she saw..she was worthless. And at the moment everyone knew it.

We can't keep stopping to fight these things, Aesera thought as she slammed a spawn-controlled man's head into the wall. The body dropped to the ground, limp, and Aesera turned her attention to other spawn around her. We can't have much time left. The titan Omega will destroy this place completely before long.

Eventually, there was a moment where no spawn were attacking. "We have to keep moving," Aesera said. "We can't let the spawn slow us down, or else the armory might be gone by the time we get there. Alexia, lead the way. I'll keep my mind open, so I'll know if any spawn are coming."

Alexia nodded. She ran through what was left of the mansion, with the others behind her. As she ran, Aesera was struck with an unpleasant thought. This may be a coincedince, but there's always the chance that it's not a coincedince, that Omega knows that we have the souls of the gods, and knew that we'd be here. But how could Omega know, unless there was someone here to get the information? Shit, this could be bad. It has to be a coincedence, but how many of the others will realize this? How many will think that there's a traitor among us, or a spy? And how many are aware of who the obvious candidate for a spy would be?

Shit, I hope nobody does anything stupid. Kairi's not the enemy. That beast of his is an enemy, but it doesn't have control of Kairi. But nobody else can know that as I do, because nobody else can see into his mind. I'll have to find Kairi as soon as possible. Karma, too, so that she can give Alexia her part of Kairi's gem. But not now, not yet. Right now, we have more pressing matters to deal with

Another group of spawn was up ahead. Aesera ran ahead of the others, charging straight at the spawn. In an instant, she was among them, fighting her way past them, and then she was through, behind the group. As the others approached the spawn, Aesera attacked them from the other side, forcing them to divide their attention. This particular group didn't last too long.

"Dammit, we can't afford all these delays!" Aesera exclaimed. "It's like the spawn are trying to keep us from the armory. I wish I could confirm this, but I can't get much of anything from their minds. So we should assume that they are trying to keep us from our destination. Which means that we move as fast as we possible can."

"Right," Alexia said as she once more took the lead, the others following behind her as she made her way towards the armory.

-----------------------------------------------------

OOC: Okay, just so it's perfectly clear, the things Aesera thought and said are just speculation on her part.

Kabato reached to his side and pulled out an ancient looking katana in its sheath. "Fine if time is the factor then i will end this here and now." Kabato grabbed the hilt of the katana and withdrew the blade from its cracked leather sheath. As it pulled out the shine given off caused the spawn to flintch and stop there movements and turn there attention to kabato.

"My blade is judgement....i pass it on all who are invested with dark minds." As kabato shut his eyes he saw that the blade was giveing off an enourmus amount of chi. With out any further hesitation Kabato spun around in a circle cutting all of the spawn with in strikeing distance. In unison they all slummped over and twitched on the group. "Lead us to the armory.....i will deal with all the ones on the side and behind us. The rest of you simply concern yourselves with the ones in front. With all of your talents it should be no problem to clear a path." Kabato stepped behind everyone and held his blade above his blade slightly above his shoulder with the tip tilted down. A mass of swarm came pouring around the corner of the hall they were in from both behind and in front. "Just once i would like this to be easy." Kabato sighed and bent his knees slightly prepareing for the group of spawn coming right at him.

"Kyne! Kabato! Come with Aesera and I to the armory. The rest of you," Marquis listened intensly as Alexia stole herself away from the older woman and towards the back wall. She raised her fist and slammed it just below a shelf. A small wooden door popped open. "Use this passage to get out of this room and back to the main hall. Try to get every one out of here. We'll meet back up with you." She continued darting back past the other three and out the main door.

Marquis hesitated a moment, staring at the massive mammalian beast. It had a black aura spiraling off it, like living despair and death. Turning around looking at the people, their once dim but mostly white auras were now a gross black like slime, as if Omega's energy was overcoming them, that mixed with distress from the chaos.

"Damn, I wish I was in the armory right now, I don't think my fists would do much against that, even if I truly am stronger now" Marquis thought to himself, ushering a few remaining servants into the passage. Turning back he saw Kairi facing off against the beast, his aura shone like a fire, although there seemed to be two conficting colors one black, the other white, battling for supremacy. His eyes spotted another bright aura, this one belonging to Cole as chased down Kairi slipping out of her dress revealing a sports bra and spandex shorts.

Turning back he ran through the passage "I wish to fight, but I can't turn my back on these people, they need help more" Marquis justified to himself. As he entered the main hall, people were running around chaoticly, faces stricken with panic and fear. Eve and Zech were pulling people out from rubble, and it looked like she was healing them. "Where to help?" Marquis thought as he glimsed an older woman who's leg was crushed under a piece of ceiling, her aura dark. Running over to her he knelt by her leg, placing his arms around the debree and lifting. The piece that would have been heavy for a normal man felt light in his arm as he let it fall loose. Turning back to the woman her sweat covered face full of releif.

"Are you ok?" Marquis knelt again examining her leg, it was badly broken at the femur, and she was loosing alot of blood. Her breathing was heavy but she nodded to the question as he reached foward to apply pressure to the wound "This will hurt"

Before his hands got a foot from the wound the silver crosses on the back of his hands began to glow brilliantly, a silver light jutting forward from his palms. The light engulfed her wounds, pulsing as it shone more intensly. It seemed to be melding with her aura, making it shine a lucid white and silver. As her aura began to dim, the silver light dispersed revealing a smooth path of skin, where the break should have been.

"What the..?" Marquis muttered to himself looking at his hands like unfamiliar objects.

"Praise Star," the older woman rejoiced running a hand along her leg, Marquis still confused by his unexpected power. "Thank you, thank you, I thought it was my time, but I am saved, and I feel 10 years younger to boot" The woman grasped Marquis's hands, breaking him away from his trance.

"Wha.. Oh right, you're welcome, can you try to round everyone together, we need to get out of the mansion" Marquis asked helping the woman rise to her feet, still unsure of what he'd done in his mind.

"Of coarse, right away, may Star's blessing find you" She ran off into the people, organizing them into a larger group, thier faces looking less lost with some direction, her aura white among the greys and blacks.

Surveying the room again, Marquis noticed another victim to Omega's assault on the building, this one being a man trapped under a fallen carved oak cabinent. Running over to him, the man looked up bitterly struggling to speak with the weight on his back "Go away, there aint nothin you can do to save me, just let me die alright, I wouldn't want to life paralyzed anyways, I can't feel my legs"

"I can help you thought" Marquis spoke clearly lifting up the piece of furnature, some small peices of rubble rolling off it. Tossing it on it's side so another didn't become trapped under it. Kneeling he placed his hands over the mans back, black bruising showing through his torn clothing, though nothing happened.

Taking short shallow breaths the man yelled "I don't want yer damn help, leave me alone!"

"What the I don't get it?" Marquis mumbled standing up and taking a step back.

"What's not to get, I don't want yer help yer damn retarded if you can't get that" The man ranted, Marquis taking another step back as a large piece of cieling fell to the floor. A puddle of blood quickly spreading from where the debree covered the man. Marquis took a few more steps back looking at his hands questionigly.

"MARQUIS! Lets go, everyone we could find is outside, MARQUIS!" Zech yelled motioning at the door.

"Why couldn't I help him" Marquis shook his head, trying to shake the thoughts off running outside, to the lawn where Eve was looking over everyones injuries.

OOC: Just to let everyone know, Marquis has healing powers as well, though they only work on those who want to be healed, in realitly he only helps the person/s heal themselves. This also refreshes their spirit, giving them more energy, dimishing negative feelings. I just thought I'd point that out so there isn't any confusion for the future.

...what arrogance... Kairi looked up at Omega; his heart was raising...not due to fear, but the anticipation of Kyne, Alexia and the others to come out of the remaining intact portions of the mansion and emerge to help the rest.

Looking again to the others converging outside, Marquis reveiled himself finally...he met up with Eve and began to help healing the wounded outside. ...seems like most us them have the power of healing...one way or thee other... Kairi took a mental note and looked up at Cole who stood firmly in sight of the monster Omega who continued to tear through the mansion.

"Thank you for helping me...I appreciate it." the statement took Cole off-guard as Kairi returned his gaze towards Omega. Her face lit up brightly...feeling a sense of purpose and meaning. ''Lets find some more people."

Cole nodded, and as she made her way past Kairi; behind his back he formed a thick wooden club in his hand. Jumping into the air with surprising swiftness, Cole didn't even hear Kairi leap as he smashed the club into the back of her head, knocking her out. Falling to her knees, Kairi caught the back of her sports bra and let her hang with the pressure on her breasts...preventing her from falling face first into the rubble.

"Marquis!" Marquis came with surprising speed and response time.

"What happened?" but he already knew what Kairi had done...but didn't say a word.

"Get her to safety...you all must live." the aura Marquis had viewed earlier became more clearer in his vision...the darkness had submitted for the time being.

Marquis took the young woman into his arms and lifted her over his shoulder, but kept his eyes on Kairi. "You said that to me before? What do you mean?"

Kairi chuckled to himself and looked up at Marquis with loving and caring eyes...like a innocent child, showing its affection towards a loved one. "when this is all over...maybe I can show you some of those answers that you seek."

Marquis nodded in approval and sprinted back towards where Eve and Zach knelt next to the wounded. Many of them were healed already, and were standing in sight of their destroyed home.

"Back to business" ...Alexia...I hope you get what you were taking the others for in the armory...we could use your alls help... Knowing his job was not over...Kairi was at first tempted to persue Omega. However, he knew too well that the swarm would be coming for the group outside. Pushing his sweaty hair to the side, Kairi made his way towards what was left of the main hall, taking out all the swarm who were now making their way towards the group outside. Alexia spun on her heel and kicked a spawn swiftly in the head. A sick crack sounded and the creature fell to the floor lifeless. Their was one last door to get through before they were in the armory and at least a dozen spawn. Aesera stood directly behind her and Kyne behind her, his back to them making sure no one was following them. Had it been another time, Alexia would have given time to be concerned about Kabato, but time was not on their side.

Alexia threw a few of the spawn into the wall, their lifeless bodies falling to the floor and watched as Aesera charged forward to take a few more spawn out. Alexia energy began to waiver and she hoped the others were safe outside the mansion as another crash shookd the house and threaten all their lives.

Finally, they were through the spawn!

"Cursed souls!! You shall all pay dearly for your weakness," Alexia mumbled as she reached the door and grabbed the door handle.

LOCKED!

Alexia turned to Kyne. "Can you kick the door in?"

He gave her an almost startled look and then simply nodded. He was almost too tall to be standing in the hall way, his head nearly hitting the ceiling. He brought his long leg up and slammed the bottom of his foot into the door. It cracked and spilt from the massive force but did not open. He brought his foot up again and slammed it once more. It flew open and revealed walls stretching almost endlessy, bright fluoresent light illuminating the room.

Alexia smiled, slipping her gloves back on. A soft yowl brought Alexia's attention towards her feet. It was Eve's cat...Faith was it? It rubbed against her leg and looked up at her with soft eyes. It meowed again and instantly Alexia knew that the others were out of the mansion and had brought as many of the survives they could with them.

"Tell Eve that we shall be with them shortly."

Alexia did not watch the cat leave, but turned her attention directly towards the other three with her. "Aesera, can you probe every ones' mind to see what weapons their soul is best accustom to?"

OOC: Can every one PM Takuyo with the weapon you would prefer!!! Thanks.

Eve was leaning against a tree meditating. Everyone they had rescued were healed, though she could feel that not all had made it to safety, death hung over the mansion. She felt Zech run a cautious hand over her shoulder.

Eve kept her eyes closed ?I?m fine.?

Zech gently kissed her forehead and walked away. After a moment Eve sensed more than felt Faith return and rub against her leg. Eve opened her eyes and focused on the cat.

Murrrrow

Eve nodded and stood, walking over to Marquis. ?Alexia is fine, they ?ave reached the armory and should be out to meet us shortly. The survivors should be moved inta the trees on the far side of the manor, they don?t need to be involved in whateva ?appens next.?

Marquis looked at her considering, then nodded, and started instructing the people where to go. Once they were moved, all that was left was waiting. Cole came too and shook herself.

?Kairi, what happened? How?d I get?Is he crazy??? a wave of pain hit her and she grabbed her head.

? ?ere.? Eve reached over and placed a hand over Cole?s forehead.

Cole shook herself ?Thanks.?

?What ?appened with Kairi? Now that you mention it, wasn?t ?e supposed to be out ?ere ?elpin us??

Marquis shook his head. ?Yes, but he stayed behind? he?s fighting Omega.?

Zech looked at Marquis in shock ?Alone? That?s not heroic, that?s suicidal!?

Cole stood up ?I tried to help him and I? he knocked me out didn?t he??

Marquis nodded ?I?m thinking we might as well stay out here and wait for Alexia. We may yet get to him in time.?

A rough hand grabbed Aurelia as the titan Omega crashed into the beautifully old house. Pieces of ceiling and wall flew everywhere as the titan made its presence known to all the inhabitants of the house. Kyne roughly pulled Aurelia along as he heard Alexia shout orders at him to follow her down to the armoury, dodging bits and pieces of the ceiling as it eventually collapsed around them. The ache in his mind ? the one he know recognised as Omega ? was throbbing painfully, making his head feel like it was going to explode.

Spawn followed the initial attack of Omega. They flooded through the house, screams of the servants echoing clearly in his ears. He pushed Aurelia in front of him, making sure she was right behind Alexia as he, the two girls and Kabato ran down a hall towards the armoury, ploughing through the spawn as they rushed towards them. They attacked from both sides. Kyne recognised the tactics and fought off the ones they decided to attack the group from behind. Kabato fought off the ones who attacked front one until they reached the armoury.

Alexia desperately tried the door, only to find it locked. She turned to Kyne as he watched for more spawn.

? Can you kick the door??

Kyne looked a little surprised. He thought it was rather stupid of them to leave the armoury locked when they knew perfectly well that a titan was rampaging in the city nearby. He swiftly turned around, moving the two girls away and kicked the door in.

They all filtered inside, Kyne putting the door back in place just to keep the spawn out as they waited for Alexia?s instructions. Aurelia looked nervously around, sidling over to Kyne who she felt the safest with. Kabato was watching the door as well, ready for the oncoming of spawn when they left the room. Alexia looked at Aesera and asked her a question.

? Aesera, can you probe everyone?s minds to see what weapons their soul is best accustom to??

Aesera nodded, knowing that they couldn?t waste anymore time on this. She closed her eyes and concentrated. They all stood there patiently as Aesera probed everyone?s minds. They were silent, only the desperate noise of the spawn outside was heard.

Before long, it looked like Aesera knew everyone?s preferences. Kyne watched as she turned slightly towards him. But, to her surprise, and to the others around her, she was knocked off her feet, crumpling in a heap on the floor as a sharp searing pain flashed through her mind. Alexia looked shocked and bent down to Aesera.

? What?s wrong?? she asked, sounding concerned in some way. Aesera said nothing in reply, but glared up at Kyne. Kyne arched his eyebrow. Alexia and Aesera stood slowly, Aesera?s glare still upon him.

? I have everyone?s preferences. All except for him,? she said, nodding towards Kyne to indicate who ?him? was. Alexia looked up at Kyne with a searching look. But by this time, the sounds of the spawn were growing louder, which meant they didn?t have any time to waste.

? Right then,? Alexia started, still looking at Kyne. ? Go choose your weapon Kyne while we get the others.?

Kyne nodded once, showing he acknowledged the order before walking off down the room in a hurried way, Aurelia following him obediently. Moments later, Kyne returned with a huge great sword perched across his shoulders. Aurelia was waiting by his side, looking terrified at the noises of the spawn that were quickly advancing.

OOC: Okay, I edited the post to include Cole's weapon.

--------------------------------------------------------

?Aesera, can you probe everyone?s minds to see what weapons their soul is best accustomed to?? Alexia asked.

Aesera nodded "I think so. I can easily do everyone in here. It'll be a bib harder to do the others, though. I'll have to do a wide scan andattempt to isolate each of their minds individually. At my current level of ability, I couldn't do it if not for a certain aspect of my abilities. Each mind is unique, and has a... well, there's really no word for it. Basically, if I'm in a mind I've been in before, I'll immediately know who's mind it is. And since I saw into everyone's mind when we first met for dinner, I'll be able to tell when I've found one of the others. It looks like some spawn are getting close to us, so I'll start with those in this room."

Aesera focused on each person in turn, starting with Alexia. From her, Aesera went to Kabato. She focused on Kyne's mind next. As soon as she did so, a sharp pain went through her mind, and she fell to the floor. She quickly withdrew from Kyne's mind. ? What?s wrong?? Alexia asked her.

? I have everyone?s preferences," Aesera replied. She looked up a Kyne. "All except for him,? she said, indicating Kyne, as she got to her feet.

? Right then,? Alexia said. "Go choose your weapon, Kyne, while we get the others.?

Kyne nodded and walked off. "Okay, Aesera, who gets what weapon?" Alexia asked.

"Actually," Aesera replied, "neither you nor Kabato should get a weapon. Kabato already has one, and it seems that you, Alexia, will do better without one."

It was then that Kyne returned with his weapon. "Good, you found a weapon," Aesera said. She had no idea what had happened when she'd tried to enter Kyne's mind. She'd have guessed it was related to his powers, except it hadn't happened when she's scanned his mind during the meal. It was a mystery that would have to wait, though, as spawn were approaching.

"Kyne, Kabato, cover the entrance," Aesera said. "Alexia, stay with me. As I determine each person's weapon, I'll say what the weapon is. When I call out a weapon, go find it."

As Kyne and Kabato positioned themselves at the entrance, ready to fight off the spawn, Aesera began her wide scan. It didn't take long to find the mind of one of the others. "This is... Kairi," she said. "He does not need a weapon from here. He makes his own."

Aesera withdrew from Kairi's mind and resumed her search. Before long, she'd found another of the others. "This is... Eve. Get her a katana, and... a bow. Both weapons are equally matched to her."

As Alexia went to retrieve the specified weapons, Aesera resumed her search. When Alexia returned, Aesera's located another mind. "This is... Marquis. He is also matched equally to two weapons. Find him a rapier and a main gauche." Alexia nodded, and went to get the two weapons. She and Aesera repeated this with Cole, the last one, whose weapon was a scythe.

"Okay, I can't go into my own mind," Aesera said when Alexia had returned with Cole's weapons. "However, my father made sure I learned how to use various weapons. I can find the one I'm most skilled with."

It didn't take long for Aesera to find the weapon she was looking for, a bladed staff. As she grabbed it, she turned to Alexia. "Do you have any modern weaponry?" she asked.

Alexia nodded. "Yes. Follow me." She led Aesera over to one side of the armory. "This is our selection of guns."

"Holy shit," Aesera swore as she looked at the selection, which included everything from basic pistols to shotguns to sniper rifles to more advanced guns, the laser weapons used by the world police. "How did you get all this?" she asked Alexia.

"I don't really know," Alexia said. "It is quite the collection, isn't it?"

"Indeed," Aesera agreed. She grabbed a pair of laser pistols and put them in her pockets. She also grabbed several spare power packs for the weapons. "I've got what I need," she said. "Some of these other weapons are more dangerous, but I don't know how to use them as well. Besides, they're bulky and hard to carry. Perhaps we can return here if necessary, assuming that this place survives. But for now, I'm done here. Let's move."

Aesera and Alexia returned to Kyne and Kabato, who'd apparently seen some action in the meantime. They picked up the weapons for the others. "All right, we've got what we came for," Alexia said. "Let's go."

"Actually, Alexia, I want you to come with me," Aesera said. "Give the others' weapons to Kyne and Kabato. Kyne, Kabato, go render what aid you can."

Alexia gave her weapons she was carrying to Kyne and Kabato, who promptly exited the armory. "Where are we going?" she asked Aesera.

"To find Lady Karma," Aesera replied. "Our first priority had to be coming here to arm ourselves more properly. Now that we have, we can search for your mother. I wanted only you to come with me because there's private business going on. Only you, me, and Lady Karma are to know. I'll explain what it is once we find Lady Karma."

"All right," Alexia said. "Can you locate her?"

"Yes, hold on." Aesera did another scn of the area, stopping when she'd found Karma's mind. "Got her," she said, drawing her laser pistols. "Follow me." She led Alexia out of the armory and through the remains of the mansion, towards Karma's location.

"Mommy, what's this?" Alexia's fragile three year old hands stretched out in front of her, a large sapphire sitting peacefully in her palms.

"Never touch this Alexia!" her mother scolded as she rushed to take the gem from her daughter. The girl cringed in response and pulled away from her mother once the gem was taken. Her mother sighed, looking down at what now lay in her own hand. "Alexia, this sapphire is dangerous, where did you find it?" Her mother's voice had softened.

"Daddy had it in his hands when he fell." Alexia's eyes grew heavy as tears began to wield up under the surface.

Lady Karma's eyes flared open wider as she dashed past her daughter, her dress flowing freely around her ankles. Alexia, tears already falling down her delicate face, followed behind her mother the best she could with her little legs. Her mother soon disappeared from her sight, but she knew where her mother was going. To see Daddy.

After struggling what seemed like forever to get up the stairs, Alexia finally managed to get to the top and waddled down the hallway to where her father's study was located. There she found her mother on the floor cradling her father's head in her lap.

*****

I understand now what Father had done that night. He had tried to take the soul of the God of Fate into himself so that I wouldn't have to face my destiny.

Alexia ran calmly behind Aesera. They seemed to be running into less and less spawn as they traveled farther and farther into the mansion's interior.

"Her signal is growing weak," Aesera said suddenly.

"Mother..." Alexia whispered.

"This way," Aesera made an abrupt turn that led them down a corridor Alexia had been in not long ago. They were headed towards her mother's study.

"Watch out!" Alexia shouted, grabbing a hold of Aesera's arm and pulling her back as Omega's black fur covered arm came crashing through the mansion's roof just in front of them. Both women leaped backwards as more of the ceiling came down as the beast pulled its arm back out. Alexia could hear in the distance some one shouting an almost battle cry.

"MOTHER!" Alexia realized that the study had also taken the hit. She rushed blindly past Aesera. The woman having no luck in trying to restrain the girl.

"Alexia, wait!" she heard Aesera shout.

Alexia climbed over the debri and towards the door. "Mother!" Alexia cried as she began to dig franticly for the door. "MOTHER!!"

"Alex....Alexia." The voice was faint, but enough.

Alexia swirled around to her left and saw what she hoped not to see. Her mother was trapt under a large amount of the ceiling and other materials. From just below her chest and up was speared, but blood spued violently from her mother's mouth. Her eyes bulging from their sockets.

"Mother," Alexia weeped, sliding in front of her mother. She placed her hands under the debri on her mother's back and was prepared to lift it from Lady Karma.

"No, Alexia. You'll cause her more pain if you do that." Aesera appeared by her then.

"Alexia, my precious daughter." Alexia turned her attention back to her mother, trying to remember what she looked like early that morning. "Bring Star back to the Earth," and with that Lady Karma reached out and placed a gem into Alexia's hand. "You will know what to do with this."

"Mother," Alexia sobbed. She reached forward with her free hand and placed a gloved hand on her mother's blood covered hand, all her heart wishing she could feel her mother's delicate skin under her's.

"Alexia, we have to go." Aesera pulled Alexia to her feet. The girl did not take her eyes from her mother, tears streaming down her face. "Come on."

Alexia squeezed her hand around the gem and dashed down the hall that had not colasped yet. A bellow ensued over head. The two women made it through the castle, Alexia leading the way, out into the cool night air. In the distance she could see the others and the survivers watching helplessly as Omega continued to destroy the mansion. Alexia turned back, helplessly watching her home fall in ruins.

Aesera stood beside Alexia, the two of them watching as the Karma mansion crumbled. "Damn," Aesera swore. "I wasn't expecting this. I knew we didn't have much time, but I never thought the danger would come tonight. I knew there wouldn't be much time for training, but I thought there'd be some. This isn't good. Some of the others don't know much, and a couple didn't know anything until coming here. Hopefully we can find the time to give them some basic knowledge of just what's happening."

Alexia said nothing. She just stared at what was left of the mansion. Aesera placed her hand on Alexia's sholder. "I know you're sad about losing your mother," she said, "but there will be time for mourning later. Right now, we must rejoin the others and get the survivors away from here."

"I... I know," Alexia replied. There was a pause, after which she said, "What you and I were to speak to mother about. It was was about this, wasn't it?" She held up the gem she'd recieved from Karma.

"Indeed it was," Aesera told her. She briefly explained her probing of Kairi's mind and the proposal she'd made to Karma. "I'm just glad we were able to get it," she said when she was finished. "And remember, tel nobody about this. In fact, I think it's best if we tell them nothing about Kairi. Explaining his past actions would only give the others reason to mistrust him, and we cannot afford that. So let's keep Kairi's past a secret. I will tell Kairi this as soon as I can."

Alexia nodded. "Yes... I think you're right. Come, let us join the others."

"How durable is your armory?" Aesera asked Alexia as the two of them walked towards the others. "Is it likely to have survived all this?"

"I'm not sure," Alexia replied. "It's certainly possible. Why do you want to know?"

"Because there was some impressive weaponry in there," Aesera explained. "Some of it might be useful in certain situations. I didn't grab any of it because it's all bulky, and we needed speed. If we can, we should return here at some point and take a look. If these weapons are intact, they could proove useful."

"Perhaps we will return here," Alexia said, "though I do not know when we would have the chance to do so."

"Neither do I," Aesera replied. "It's something to keep in mind, though."

"Yes," Alexia agreed. "Perhaps it is."

Cole ran by Aresa and was stoped as a large Scythe was pushed into her hands.
"Instead of running use it to fight."
"But I-I don't know how."
"Yes you do. Trust your self."
She was gone after that leaving Cole to stare at the Scythe in wonder, she spun around as a spawn came at her and without thinking spun the Scythe like it was an extention of her arm and saw with surpirse as the spawns arm flew off cleanly. She felt a strange sensation come over her, a calming peace that she was nto used to and found that she was soon fighting with the others, and well at that. She spun around taking the Scythe with her and began to move more fluidly through out the battle outside. She stopped as she saw Alexia and Aresa running out the of the destoryed houe, LAdy Karma no where it be seen. Her hearrt grew heavy and she fought of what few spawn she had left and retreated into the woods as she had seen many of the others do already. She ran into Kairi as she was running and held the Scythe out almost at his throat.
"I have some things in my mind that I need to say to you once we catch a break."
She was starting to sound somewhat like the person she used to be when her and her brother were together. She sighed and hoisted the Scythe over her shoulder and ran slightly faster. She felt at home with the Scythe in her hand and didn't know why the thought of loseing it made her feel empty, but it did. She ran striaght into Kyne and fell on her butt.
"Watch it! Kyne, you made it out. That's good."
She realized that it was the first time she had spoken to him and felt something break in her chest. She was no longer shy, or catuious. She was at peace with herself and she smiled a true smile, something she had not done in years since her brother had dissappered. The falcon landed on her should and schreeched shrilly, she smile dmroe, reached up and ran a finger under it's chin making it close it's eyes and relax.
Cole, the others are this way.
She blinked and began to walk, the two men behind her watching her strangely as if she had sprouted a second head.
"I didn't know you could talk."
It nodded and flew off in a certain direction.
This way, I will show you.
She looked back at the other two and shrugged but ran after the bird anyway. The boys following after her at a slower pace.

Eve straightened up as Kyne came toward her and threw her a bow and quiver with barbed arrows and a sheathed katana. She buckled the belt of the sword around her waist wishing she had kept the jeans on, and knocked an arrow in the bow. The arrows were decently high tech, and looked like they had explosives on the end. Zech started to say something but Faith glared at him and he shook his head, and then turned to follow the group heading for the trees.

Omega towered over the destruction of the mansion as Eve took cool aim. She knew no one could take on this monster alone and win. But everyone did have to get out of the mansion alive if they were ever going to win which meant Omega would need to be taken down a couple notches?

She fired and the arrow soared practically straight up in the air and nailed omega in the center of his eye.

There was a thundering rawr as omega clumsily raised a paw to scratch at the hole where his eye used to be. Looking over the scene carefully Eve noticed that Kairi was still inside the mansion, but she had given him he chance to escape. If he didn?t take it, there was nothing more she could do. Eve turned and ran to catch up to the others gathering into the woods...

The last remaining foundations of the mansion began to finally crumble and fall as Omega continued its rampage. The beast suddenly cried out in rage as Kairi looked up from the mansion below and saw an arrow piercing in its eye. It was only a splinter in Kairi's sights, but it was certainly enough to catch the beast off-guard and disoriented.

As Kairi made his way to escape from the crumbling building around him, to his surprise Omega began to walk away from the estate into the mist that began to flow through the area. With adrenaline taken hold over reason, Kairi abandoned his escape and persued the beast quickly. Making his way to the outskirts of the mansion towards the open plains of New York, Kairi looked out across the fields and watched the monster dissappear into the fog.

A feeling of rage and sadness surged through him as single spawn arose from the rubble and grabbed towards him. Kairi gerked away quickly as the spawn tore away his shirt. Thrusting a katana underneath the spawns chin as he turned around, with the blade curved towards himself; Kairi jumped into the air to meet the spawns eyes with his own and pulled the blade towards his own face, completely seperating the spawns face into two parts.

The spawn fell lifeless before Kairi as a certain satisfaction flowed through his veins as the blood from his blade dripped down to his hands as the blade dissappeared. With his exposed chest, something seemed to be pressing against his exterior skin as a set of sharp fingernails looked as if they were trying to claw their way out of Kairi. That same golden tint in his eyes returned as he quickly placed a hand over the pressure and pressed back firmly, holding the beast within back.

Knowing what needed to be done whether the others would wait for him or not...the young boy stalked the foundations of the mansion, looking for any visible remaining spawn that were trapped underneath the rubble and decapitated them all and began to set the mansion ablaze with fires.

Through his searches Kairi finally found Alexia's mother lying lifeless underneath a section of the ceiling that had come down upon her; she hadn't been tainted by the curse of the swarm yet. In the cold New York air, Kairi knelt beside her and looked at the frozen tears that were upon her cheeks. Alexia must have found her...

Kneeling there before a woman who had just a short while ago ripped at his very being, he began to sob...the inner child within him crying out in pain at this great loss to not only himself, but what it ment for Alexia. Lady Karma's eyes still were open as Kairi whipped away his own tears, and gently closed them in respect. It was a foolish tradition, but Kairi out of further respect pulled out two coins from his pants and placed them on her eyelids and muttered a prayer that his family taught him to give him strength in times of turmoil and doubt.

And Shepherds we shall be. For thee, my Star, for thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee and teeming with souls shall it ever be.

And with that, Kairi formed an Double-Sided Axe and cut the head from Lady Karma with such great percision that the head didn't move from its resting place. I will not let your fate be with them..."whatever road there is for me to follow Lady Karma...I will assure you that death will follow." Suddenly the golden tint in his eyes faded and his normal silver-glass eyes returned, and a rush of a bitter cold came upon him in his nakedness.

Quickly finding a broken closet, Kairi pulled out a long brown leather coat and ran away from the mansion which began to burst into a brilliant yellow and orange. Turning his attention away from the burning mansion, Kairi burst through the branches of the woods and found himself alone....I need to find the others.

Marquis rounded on a group of 5 spawn, they seemed to roam around in mindless pack's for some reason, whether they were drawn to eachother or if it was just instinct Marquis didn't know, and he didn't really car to find out. He sent the first he could reach to the ground crumpled with a strong palm thrust to the nose. A second spawn crept up behind him, trying to attack his defenseless side. Though as soon as his arm reached Marquis caught it, throwing the creature into another spawn. Spinning down on his heel he swept the last standing spawn with his right leg, bringing his left heel around into the spawn's torso as it was suspended in air, it's body flying foward into a tree before falling lifeless, it's neck ajar from the impact.

"Definately couldn't do that before" Marquis shifted his feet smirking, squaring himself against the two remaining spawn, just rising back to their feet.

Running foward he launched a volley of punches to the beasts face and torso, grabbing it's head and slamming it to his knee with a sharp crack of bone splitting. The last spawn threw slow punch, which Marquis easily dodged rolling around the side of it's arm and placing both hands on the spawns head and twisting recieving an encore of cracking.

"Psch! These spawn are like roaches." Brushing his shoulder off he turned to look back at the mansion, though he noticed Kyne standing there holding some weapons. "I see you have the weapons, but where are the others?"

Kyne just looked at Marquis coldly throwing him a Rapier wrapped in it's sword belt. Catching the sheathed blade easily, Marquis examined the blade for a moment. It was old like most of the stuff in the house, probably 1400's, it's blade being almost black Toledo Steel. It had an elloquent swept hilt guard of silver and black wire wrapping on the hilt. Simple, classy and beautiful, the sword looked as if Marquis would have had it forged himself. Unbuckling the belt he noticed a matching Main Gauche on the opposit side of the sword, "Hmmm one of my favorite weapon combinations, how could they have known?" He thought buckling the weapons on, the Rapier on his left hit, the Main Gauche on his right.

A loud roar caused Marquis to look up from his task, seeing omega clutching at a gaping hole that was once his eye. A short distanse from him he saw Eve, with a bow in her hand, "Ah, thats reassuring" He thought just as the mansion's foundations began to collapse, filling the air with dust and dirt.

"Shit Kairi's still in there!" Marquis yelled running towards the expanding cloud.

Eve swiftly stepped in his way, holding her arms out to block his way. "Wait, we need to look after the people, when the others get her we can find him" She said motioning back to the huddled mass of people in the forest, recieving a rebelious look from him.

Marquis cursed under his breath kicking a patch of dirt "I just hate to leave the kid there by himself, no matter how strong he is, ya know? I got an idea, Ventas Eternus" As Marquis finished the words a gust of wind spun around him, spiraling up above his head condensing into a ball shape.

"Is the fighting over Master?" Boo said rather purple in color, the color of fear for him.

"Oui, oui, you're such a fairy sometimes Boo" Marquis told the ball of air, it's color flashing red slightly before returning to a bluish-purple. "Anyways, I want you to go look for Kairi, if you find him lead him back here, ok my friend"

"Yes sir" Boo sped off into the cloud, dispersing dust where he moved.

OOC: I hope that's ok, Kairi you can have Boo find you if you want, you don't have to do anything with him if you'd rather not. Oh and sorry for the crappy post, I'm feeling rather blah.

The forest around them was dark and musty. Kyne?s skin crawled. It felt like it had something magical within it, although his common sense told him it was probably just the age of the air that surrounded them. Aurelia clung to his arm as the group walked briskly through the undergrowth, the roars of the titan Omega getting duller and duller as they continued on through the dimly lit environment.

His great sword was perched across his shoulders, one edge digging into his coat. Mayon had perched himself on Aurelia?s right shoulder, his eyes sparkling with a dark light.

Kyne? Omega is here. Kairi isn?t with the group either, the crow said to his master through their mental connection.

Kyne?s facial expression darkened. Many thoughts ran through his mind. Most were angered ones aimed at the rampaging titan. But some were also critical thoughts about the people around his, especially Alexia and her mother. He had seen the older woman die in the mansion?s collapse and Alexia?s anguish at this moment, but he felt nothing. Kyne looked down at his own hand ? the one that the red diamond had melded into. He hadn?t felt anything?. nothing at all. He couldn?t feel the weight of the sword on his shoulders, or the touch of Aurelia on his arm. Mentally, he knew they were there, but he couldn?t feel it.

Mayon noticed his master?s discomfort. What?s wrong?
Kyne looked over to his pet and shook his head, not able to express what he was feeling in a few select words.

Up ahead, he could hear a soft sob from Alexia once and a while. His dark eyes looked up at her figure stalking through the undergrowth ahead. Something tragic happened on this night.

OOC: sorry about the crappy post but I'm feeling a little down... sorry again
