Doublehex
In tales of fantasy, tale-weavers spin multiple tales about sorcerers and warriors known as summoners ? beings who, as well as being adept in combat, are gifted with the aid of a beast from the spiritual realm known simply as the Monolith. These beasts, called the aeons, are tied to a weapon called the Unknowns, of which are uniquely tied to each summoner?s will. With a simple thought, particles surround the Summoner and the weapon appears in their hands. In the realm of Areth, summoners act as the guardians of the realm, constantly traveling the four corners of the world in search for troubles to be solved, in whatever suits them best. Not all summoners are so righteous, however; others act like high profile mercenaries, or lend their skills to the political guilds. This is a story of a few members of Areth who got involved in an adventure beyond their imagination?and one that will be remembered for years to come. .:The Gods of Areth:. ? Nothing lived in this void, nothing died in this void. Nothing drank, nothing ate, and nothing slumbered and rested. Nothing of any physical means existed within this void. There was only it. It had been there long before the beginning, and it had no physical form as we could possibly fathom. It had no name, for it needed none. It?s power was greater than any others, and so believing that in itself was the only thing in the void, it talk to none of the other celestial beings. It soon become bored with the void and it searched. What it searched for was something that we cannot compensate, but it quickly encountered something that it did not expect, but it was not the thing that it was searching for. It found the cosmos. Planets, comets, stars! It discovered what is beyond our sky! It was enlightened by this discovery. It was saddened that the void was not taken up by the cosmos, and so it forced the cosmos to multiply. Within a half day, there was no longer any void; there was only the cosmos. But as powerful as it was, it could not predict the results that soon followed. The cosmos turned on itself! Planets destroyed themselves; stars grew and grew until it could grow no longer and imploded, taking many other stars and planets with them. Comets and meteors crashed into each other, creating more fragments of rock and ice to crash into more comets and meteors and stars and planets. The discovery of the cosmos brought enlightenment to it; but it was terrified by the chaos. It?s heart become cold, and its mind was twisted. It became something else than it once was, for neither ill nor good. It was something in between. It could not stand the chaos any more. From chaos came order: it forced the strife to give birth of the gods, all of different shapes and forms and thoughts. He commanded the gods to form the chaos into order. And the gods did. This took them hundreds of years, but in the end it was satisfied. When the chaos became order, it told the gods that it was leaving to continue its search. It told the gods it would return, and it foresaw that the gods would create many alliances among themselves, and that these alliances would divide the cosmos. It told the gods that it would return when its search was done. When it did return, it would either save the world or destroy it. And so, it left them. When the gods asked it for its name, it told them it had no name. So, the gods named it the Nameless. Vrolisk, the Dragon goddess and the great Brood mother, would be the first god to encounter Areth among the cosmos. Her celestial flights were slowed by her many eggs she held within her, a requests that was granted to and by the Nameless. She found Areth pleasing, for it could nurture and house her brood. But she saw that all the landmasses were one! Ice touched heat! Jungles encountered the plains! Vrolisk would not have her brood lay claim to a mess such as this! So, she struck Areth with her might claw, and the landmasses became separated according to their climate. And she planted her eggs throughout the landmasses, and her brood would become adapted to them and change from their original brood mother. The Elder Age [???] When the other gods discovered Vrolisk?s act, they became enraged and jealous, for she did not tell them of her plans. So, the gods hunted for her, and when they did they locked her in another realm so her brood could never find her. But her children knew of the god?s acts, and they swore hatred against all the gods and any children that they dare plant in Areth. The gods all had plans to leave their mark on Areth, although not all of them did it the moment Vrolisk was chained. Brimn Marleris, the Duke of the Under-Wood, was the first. He created vast caverns beneath the surface of Areth, and created a large manner of creatures to inhabit the caves. He called these caverns the Under-Wood. It was at this time that three other gods made their mark on Areth: Analalarle, Parexis and Maroz?Zar. Analalarle created the High Elves that claimed the continent of Faidre, Parexis formed the aquatic beings the Drell, and Maroz?Zar formed the giants to rule the great plains of Areth. Brimn Maleris saw that his earlier creations were inferior, so he formed in his own image the Dwarves, who were adapt at both the underworld and the upper realm. The Gods Make Their Mark [0 to 2000 After Creation] It was inevitable that sooner or later that the energies of filling Areth with life would bring interest in more of the gods, and Karloc, the Lord of Hate, who was called so for he was hated by the other gods for his abdominal appearance, was the next god to make his everlasting mark on Areth. He took the first High Elven queen thousands of years after Analalarle created the race, and raped her in his realm. He made her produce not one child, but a thousand others, and forced her to produce them all in one day. The bearing killed the queen, and her corpse was thrown into the realms between the god?s planes. He had the children mature in one day, and named the spawns the Dark Elves, and created for them a new kingdom above and below the surface of Areth, called Azerrothar. Maric?Tharr and Boredbane came next to Areth, and Brimn Maleris was quick to meet them, saying they should create races to keep the Dragon race in check. The three gods agreed, and even the isolationist Maroz?Zar joined in the pact, if for nothing more than an excuse to create new races upon Areth (of which was the same excuse Brimn Maleris shared). Brimn Maleris created another race of under dwellers called the gnomes, somewhat physically similar to the dwarves, but far more interested in tinkering with engineering than their bulky and bearded cousins. Maric?Tharr went to the jungles and swamps of Areth, and created the trolls and Tumeroks there. Maroz?Zar created even more races of war for his Marozian Empire that he plotted to from upon Areth. The ogres were the first, massive creatures with surprising intellect, and the orcs, creatures that had a great sense of honor and family prestige and dabbled in shaman as well as warlock magic. He realized the orcs had larger intellect than his other creations, and could turn from him if left unchallenged. So, he divided them into clans, so that each shaman that would lead them would be loyal to only him, and thus so would the rest of the race. By this time, the elder races had already begun to mature and expand in both knowledge and territory. Tribes became towns; towns became villages, villages evolved into cities, and cities ascended into city states, and in some cases, kingdoms that had the power of several city states. No mortal race is ever satisfied, and warfare and greed quickly became part of a race?s way to gain strength, The race most successful in war were the ogres, and their empire soon expanded from the mountains all the way to the majority of Aladune, the largest of the continents. Magic interested them greatly, and soon shamans and warlocks led their raids. But soon Areth bored them, and they prepared to invade the planes of the Gods. The gods were not willing to accept this, and so they cursed Maroz?Zar?s creations. The Ogre Empire crumbled, the giants forced to flee their homes as they turned from lush plains to frozen wastelands. The Age of Man [2300 to 3000 After Creation] As the dust of war settled, the twin deities Adune and Etarlia descended upon Areth. Adune the God of Truth and Honor, Etarlia the Goddess of Love. They created in their image the Barbarian race, and the barbarians were quick to realize that many of the past empires were falling apart, or quickly would. They saw more than crumbling kings. They saw opportunity, an opportunity they took when they claimed and calmed the icy north, the land of the past Giant Empire. They proved the other races wrong that the north was unlivable, and they began to take notice. The giants in particular. A single Giant Clan, the U?Throk, waged war against the Barbarians, and the barbarians fought back with great vigor, the twin gods watching with pride that with every barbarian dead, four U?Throk went with them. In the end, all the U?Throk were dead?not a single memory or history of that Clan existed after the conflict. Over the course of two thousand years, a portion of the Barbarians that migrated south to the grassy plains would evolve into the less muscular Humans. These Humans were more willing to speak than fight, and it was because of that the Humans formed the first great Empire after the Marozian War?the Adar Empire. Alas, although there are many writings and ruins from that era, there is not one piece of lore on the events on this era, or why the Empire fell. The Dark Age [3250 to 3400 After Creation ] Everything comes to an end. Never in history has anything lasted the test of time. Not even the Ogre Empire, that spanned all of Aladune, eventually crumbled onto itself. It was after the Age of Man that the Elven Empire fell. It is said that the fall of the Elven Empire was the result of the jealousy of Mathrisk?Ro. He lowered the spine of the large mountains that surrounded the Elven kingdoms, and soon the forest began to wither, and the lakes began to dry. The elven druids, hard as they did to stop the event, could only delay the inevitable. Soon, the forest gave to way to wasteland, the abundant rivers to dried valleys. The elves retreated from the friendly center of Faidre, and they spread to the outer portion of Faidre, which was unforgivable at best with its carnivorous animals and harsh jungles. The elves chose to tough it out, as man would put it. They migrated westward, to a lone island warmed by the light of the moon. The elves there claimed it glowed like silver, and so they named it Silverymoon. There they would prosper to at least half of the strength of the old Faidren Empire. The Second Age of Man [3600 to 3640 A.C.] Quickly following The Dark Age, The Second Age of Man began, after the fall of the Adar Empire. The Humans mostly remained within the center of Aladune, inhabiting mostly the highly farmable plains of Krana. Villages popped up every twenty miles, and most of them prospered. The Humans were no way united, and they were no Empire, but they might as well been. In the midst of Human villages being spawned, two cities came to unite them. In the west was Edomfray, founded by Arephes Torr the First, which was a monarchy ruled city state that prospered under the aspects of law, freedom and valor. The west of Krana was dangerous territory, with the dessert lands and bandits lurking within, and pirates raiding on sea dependant villages. A city rose called Freeport there to unite the Western Kranians. Freeport was not ruled by any one man?it was a pure democracy. Every man voted on every issue and predicament. There were senators there to try to persuade the general public to their point of view, but no one man ruled Freeport. But Freeport was a dangerous place to stray into, with political assassinations common and crime rate higher than that of Edomfray. But times were worse than before Freeport, and so it prospered with promise of free trade for all sailors. This isn?t to say that Humanity was at peace. Humans were and are competitive by nature, and so when resources grew scarce, which occurred many times, some would abandon their past alliances and fight amongst themselves. Pacifists would try to sway them differently, reminding them why they fled the north. But the trend would continue: days of war within decades of peace. It would and shall always be so. Explorers and sailors returned from afar, brining tales of dwarves and elves and other strange sentient creatures. Stories of ancient empires and great lore would flood the taverns quicker than the plague. Several even returned with knowledge of the mystic arts, intriguing some and casting fear on others. The Rise of the Summoners [3650 A.C.] It was around this time that Areth was found in great strife: dishonest nobles manipulated their serfs, marauders slaughtered innocent townsfolk, orcs plundered and raided, and all sorts of horrible events. Thus, the great races gathered at the Marulis summit in Silverymoon, and discussed on ways to solve the issue. There, they created the Summoners ? an order of mage-knights who, as well as adept in magic and close combat, could someone celestial beings called aeons. The Summoners still last to this day, and have integrated themselves into politics. The War of Scale [3660 to 3661 A.C.] In a time of exploration and imperialism, of new knowledge and intelligence and lore and history and literature, an old conquering kind rose to recapture the realm in their grasps. These conquerors were the Tumeroks; lizard men of the continent of Valark, they were since the beginning of time caught under the grasp of a higher race. Wherether it would be the Sakrii, the deceitful lying snake-men of the old things, or of the dragon children of Vrolisk, the Tumeroks have been an oppressed race. Perhaps that made them all the stronger ? stay strong or become slaves again. The Tumeroks created their ships from the bones of the dragons from the Boneyard located between the shores of Valark and the Black Sprawl, a dark swamp filled with creatures and monsters that most would find in only their darkest of dreams. They sailed in the year 5000 AC, After Creation, from their capital of Sabilis and the voyage took them four months. They sailed through many storms and sea monsters that were thought impossible to sail though by those of not Tumerok descent. Their Emperor, Varsalisk, led them through the dangers, and they landed on the south eastern coast of Aladune, right inside the jungle-swamps of Ku?krai, the home of the Trolls. Their mass army swayed through the jungles like a hot knife through warm butter. The Troll tribes refused to strike at the conquerors ? the Tumeroks did not want the jungles and the trolls, and the trolls did not want to become anything but neutral in this war. When the Sabilisian army left the Ku?krai jungles, it divided into two?one for Freeport, the other for Edomfray. They marched through the planes of Krana like a great flame ? every village, every farmland and plain was brunt, desecrated. Not even the temples were spared. Adune and Etarlia looked down at Krana with great pity towards their creations, and rage towards the Sabilisians and Maric?Tharr, who looked at the twin deities with a wide grin on his face. But despite the twin god?s lust for wanting to aid their creations, they did nothing. It is speculated that before the event, the gods agreed to not put anymore of their influence into the world. When the two invading armies were just mere days march from either city, they split into two again, making four smaller armies. These four armies then went in different directions?the invading forces for Edomfray marched west and North West, while those for Freeport marched east and North East. In a move of amazing strategic genius, Emperor Varsalisk would block the northern escape routes for both cities! The siege lasted for a year. The Tumeroks were not used to the open plains of either the desserts of Freeport or the grasslands of Edomfray, but the humans and other defenders of the cities have faced an enemy with natural skin as hard as mail chain. In a month, the two sides were forced into a stalemate, creating walls of natural dirt and trenches in hope of survival in a war where the most land you could gain was a few inches. In the fourth month, the Tumeroks on both sides charged into spears and flying arrows. The defenders were unprepared for such a large wave of death, and were forced into the walls of their cities. The worst days of the war were about to begin. Days of nightly magical missiles slamming into their walls, days of fighting in the streets as the Tumeroks gain the city street by street, tearing down wooden barricades set up by the defenders to save their cities. Within a year, both sides have lost everything but the central palace, the building where there Kings or citizens voted and debated on important matters. By now, they had lost all hope. It seemed nothing would save them now. But then, saviors came from the most unlikely of places. The Barbarians, their ancestors from the Northlands, crashed down on the Sabilisan army, their giant forms dwarfing those of the Tumeroks, the Barbarians? blades and hammers crushing and slicing Sabilisian scales. The Barbarians battle lasted for nearly a week. In the end, Edomfray and Freeport were liberated! And in the end of it all, mercy was spared for only one Tumerok: their emperor. We was shipped back to Valark, in chains and humiliated, a testimony to his people to perhaps never again show danger to mankind again. And the War of Scale was the last offensive the Tumeroks ever showed on any race or kingdom outside of Valark. The Splitting of the Tumerok [3662 to 3664 A.C.] When the lords of all the major world powers of Areth came into council to discuss the Tumeroks, Edomfray and Freeport had one thought on their minds: vengeance! They demanded that the Sabilisian Empire be forced to be split apart, so that they could never threaten neither city again. The other races, the High Elves of Silverymoon in particular, tried to persuade the two city-states otherwise, that such punishments could show disastrous results, but the city-states could not be swayed otherwise. A year later, the vast Navy of both Edomfray and Freeport shadowed over the bay of Skulls, the major trading port of Valark. Human, dwarven, and elven warriors and archers landed on the docks, and captured many of the Tumeroks there. The Sabilisian Empire was not prepared for such a mass invasion. In a single month, the grand army conquered the whole of the Sabilisian Empire?s lands and counties. Emperor Varsalisk was captured by Human soldiers, thrown into a Human prison ship, shipped to Edomfray, was trialed in a Human court, and lived the rest of his thirty years in a Human jail cell. As for the Emperor?s people, they were separated, as the Humans and Barbarians demanded at the meeting one year prior that was known as the Council of Bralm, named after the small Barbarian village it was located in, that their society and libraries be destroyed and decimated, their Emperor?s advisors, the Blackguards and Necromancers, murdered in public view, and the rest be shipped back to Aladune as slaves of Man and Barbarian. And so, in many ways, man became the conquerors and the conquerors the thrall, the exact opposite of what man was fighting for. Departure of the Magi [3660 to 3662 A.C.] Spellcasters have never been one to enjoy death and battle, particularly wizards, although sorcerers have been known to be slightly more immune to death and battle than the wizards. During the War of the Scale, one wizard by the name of Malros declared that he and his followers were leaving the city of Freeport, sickened by the death and destruction and foretelling doom for both of the Human city-states. He suggested that his fellow wizards followed. The Freeport militia searched for Malros, and found him in hidden quarters that he hid beautifully from his studies and pupils. He was thrown into the Freeport Jail for ?violating the peace in times of great conflict?. The majority of wizards of both cities were filled with zeal and rage, and many left their cities along with Malros? pupils. They sailed North East from Freeport, settling on the island of Deri, naming their new kingdom after it as well. Their small capitol was entitled Malrosin, in dedication after Malros who died in the Freeport jail. It wasn?t long until several dozen sorcerers followed suit, convinced that the War was a giant suicide attempt. The kingdom of Deri was officially recognized as a nation at the Council of Bralm in the year 5002 AC. The Mithril Rush [3986 to 3988 A.C.] Mithril is one of the most valuable minerals created by the Brimn Marleis. It is said to be harder than dragon?s scale, making it a much desired resource for smithies. It is also said to be a conductor for electricity and lightning, thus making it a desired test material by scholars and wizards that wish to study the weapon from the heavens. But the one thing that probably made it the most valuable is its reaction to magic ? it acts like an energy core. Of course, it reacts differently to different spells, but mithril is the easiest mineral to be enchanted, as well as act as a power supply. However mithril is extremely rare, and it was usually found in very small amounts, if found at all. The largest deposit of mithril to ever to be found in history was discovered in the plains of Krana in the year 5049 AC, forty eight years after the Splitting of the Tumeroks. In was in this time that both Freeport and Edomfray were suffering. The War of Scale devastated them, and absorbed most of their resources. When the cities asked for help in reconstruction, the majority of the other races refused, horrified at what they did to the Tumeroks. The discovery of mithril were, in the words of King Atormes Torr of Edomfray; ?The discovery of the mithril deposit in the central of Krana was without a doubt a gods? send. I fear what would have occurred next if the deposit was not found.? Many scholars still say that the mithril rush, as it would later be called, saved both Edomfray and Freeport. The deposit was found accidentally when a group of road builders blew away a mountain using explosive magic. The road builders, upon discovering it, tried to keep it a secret, but that was no easy task and it wasn?t long until word slipped out of the deposit. People from both of the city-states came to the deposit, seeking their fortune. In a matter of six months the mithril deposit was gone, but the miners wanted to stay, thinking there was more. There wasn?t, but the miners stayed for another whole year. When they finally realized that there was no more mithril, they stayed behind and formed up a mid-sized city called the Crossroads, which was more of a giant trading post than a city. The Crossroads would prove to be a powerful financial aid to both Edomfray and Freeport - instead of having to travel across the continent to trade with the other city, traders would only have to travel half that way. Crossroads was essentially a city-state in itself, but it never grew to a huge mass as its older cousins. The Industrial Revolution [4018 to 4300 A.C.] The Industrial Revolution is without a doubt one of the most important time periods in Arethian History, minus the Two Ages of Man. Everything changed with the Revolution?the way people worked, lived, society, even religion changed with the idea of atheism, or belief in no gods what so ever. Politics changed with the Revolution: steam boats and zeppelins allow messages to spread quicker between the Eastern and Western Hemisphere, and gunpowder and steam quickly replaced arrows and catapults as the weapons of choice of generals and admirals. The date where the Revolution began has been highly debated by many historians. Many said it started during the Mithril Rush, with reports of their being machines that relied on steam being used in the operation. But there is no historic proof of that, so that example is usually denied. Others claim that it started ten years after that, when the steam engine was invented, and this is the one that is the most accepted. The most important innovation that came from the Revolution is without a doubt the factory. It is here that every thing that anyone would want to use is made in humongous amounts in relatively short time at an extremely cheap price. As would be expected, everything was made cheaper now and the general populous could now rise in status. Many other innovations and inventions would follow, such as the train, automobiles, arcane-powered power generators, gunpowder, and water mills, but historians vastly agree that the factory and the steam engine. The Tumeroks return to Valark [4400 A.C. to 4460 A.C.] For hundreds of years the Tumeroks were the slaves of humanity. They toiled in man?s fileds; they cleaned man?s houses, they died for their amusement in the pits. But with the Industrial Revolution, man?s once cold heart towards the lizardfolk churned. Slowly, a freedom movement began to arise. Their demands were simple: return the Tumeroks to Valark. At first, the protests were peaceful, if not motivated. But when the leaders of man gave the protestors a deaf ear, they in turn turned to anger. Fights broke out in the streets daily. The ?slither lovers? were scorned by their racist peers. Random Tumeroks were hanged for no reason other than to please the racist man?s wrath. Seeing that if they did nothing their own civilizations would tear itself apart, the leaders of man agreed to set the Tumeroks free. And so, nearly after a century, Tumeroks set foot on Valark. They were home. Present Day [6600 A.C.] In the world of Areth, much is happening. Rumors of a dark spirit is towering the realm; plants refuse to grow, and metal shatters and rust nearly instantly after being forged. Tales of an empire spreads, and a mysterious cult gains influence. But in the peaceful city of Torikarn, there is tranquility. Here, three summoner students train under a Master Ogarn. But he fears that he, his students, and their closest allies, will soon have to leave the peaceful city?for something is brewing in the distance? The Summoner and the Unknown For centuries, scholars and sages had disputed over the link between the summoners and their weapons. Some have said that they are living entities that influence the summoner's behavior; others have suggested that the weapon is a connection between the aeon and the Monolith. A few have concluded that is a creation of a summoner's psyche, personal and physical traits, and relationship with their aeon. They are all true. The creation of one's weapon is the first test for a summoner - if they cannot summon a weapon by the age of nine, then the child will never be able to become a summoner. It is an extension of their will and dreams, whatever they may be. It is also their link to their aeon - a way for the aeons to speak with their master when they are still residing in Monolith as they await their master's command. .:The Races of Areth:. Barbarians; Sons of the North Home City: Thalas Background: The Barbarians are the creation of the twin gods Adune and Etarlia. The Barbarians were a hardy race, more wanting to have a challenge than most races, and so the Frozen North seemed like the perfect place for them to build their home city of Thalas. Their buildings before the Industrial Revolution could be considered primitive by Human standards, making use of natural resources. But after the Industrial Revolution, the Barbarians modernized, but still managed to keep their rituals. Whereas their older cousins, the High and Wood Elves and younger siblings the Half Elves prefer the surface and keep away from the darker magic and gods, the Dark Elves have chosen to embrace them. They had existed for eons both below and above the earth in their grand city of Mazzillir, which lies in both the lower and upper realm, much like the Dwarf?s kingdoms. The Dark Elves are the only elven race to employ the darkness in everything they do. But if there is one thing they share with their brothers it is this: they think themselves better than other races. They even consider the High Elves, who are their arch-rivals, better than the Non-Elves. Despite some misinterpretations, the dark elves are not truly an evil race. Even though they have ?darker? thoughts than the followers of the good gods, the dark elven society was one of the first to give rise to a republic, as well as the first to create some of the most popular philosophies Areth has ever seen. If it wasn?t for their extreme prejudice against non-elves, the Dark Elves would be a very praised kind. Half-elves are the offspring of man and elven sexual intercourse, and because of the natural ?high and mighty? nature of both races, half-elves are usually shunned as a whole by both. Thus, they form their own communities: it is not uncommon at all to see Half Elven villages, towns, or even small cities. Halflings are talkative and overfriendly by nature, and are perhaps the easiest of any of the races to make friends with. Although more likely than not they intend for the best, Halflings usually get the shorter end of a stick and end up getting involved in a mountain?s worth of mischief. As would be expected, nothing excites a Halfling more than sitting by a cozy fire, smoking on some pipeweed, eating and retelling obviously overly-exaggerated stories. Aeon Balthazard The living armor known as Balthazard first came to Malphris in his dreams when he was nine. He was in his world of dreams, as the fiery warrior had commented. It was a place where there was endless grass, except for a cross road that seperated into three directions. That was where they would always meet. Balthazard, although wise and is a father like figure to Malphris, is also very critical of him. The armor-spirit is quick to call Malphris 'boy', 'fool', 'imbecile', and other deregatory names. Of course, these are just his ways of instructing the boy: Malprhis is stubborn, and in order to get across to him, Balthazard must be harsh. Deity Atheist Malphris follows none of the Gods - he refuses to bow down to any sort of 'spiritual' mother, father or being that he can't even see. He seeks freedom, and by restraining himself to just a single deity, he feels that he is just locking the final chain on his prison. Background Malphris remembers nothing of his parents, but he knows everything which he needs to know from Ogram; his mother, dirty and naked, left him on the old master's footstep, and he was taken in. Malphris rarely pestered the wise Summoner with questions about any possible heritage, for he cared little for it - he could give a rat's *** about anyone who would dump their own babe onto a stranger's doorstep. What he does know, is that he is a summoner; a grand something. Because of their lack of loyalty except to their own defination of justice, Malprhis has determined that he is free to determine what is right in the world. He does not have to bow down to gods, kings or lords: he has to bow down only to what his heart tells him to be.

He is a realist, however, and he knows that sometimes one has to fight against those who seek to ruin the fun. This he learned from his pacifist parents, who were both slain when a band of rogues raided their sylvan village. Lariel fought back, even though he was just a kid, and survived. This event caused his laughter to always have something bitter in it. He became the student of a great elven Summoner, Bel'aria. She taught him the ways of battle and magic, and summoning too. Under her mentorship Lariel got his own Wings of Destiny, a special weapon which humans call Unknown, as well as a contact to an aeon. But the mentorship ended when Bel'aria found out that Lariel was practicing the Dance of Love with her own son, Eroth. In fury Bel'aria banished Lariel, cursing his manhood so that he could never have offspring. Lariel just laughed at her mockingly and left for the lands of the humans. Lariel wandered from city to another, making his fortune in the times of peace by dancing, and in the times of war by offering his services as a Mercenary Summoner. Years went by quickly, as they normally do to elves, but even the carefree Lariel couldn't avoid noticing the ominous change in the air... Hope this is satisfactory to you, Doublehex, and hope this RPG kicks off. The work put into this is really magnificent! ;D EDIT: I changed the raiding band of orcs to rogues (human, I suppose), and added more detail about Hypnaeus. I'll try to control Lariel's erotic urges, since this is a PG-rated game without explicit sexual content. ;P (Too bad...)

Necrose is amongst the 3 most powerful legendary "Dark Aeons". It is the only one to take the form of a dragon, and the only one that has the capability to communicate outwardly as well as inwardly with the respective summoner. Necrose was promised to Riakath during a forbidden ritual, as such the great dark aeon recognizes Riakath as his master through his knowledge of the dark arts and his unspoken pact with the god Galagrith. Necrose shares Riakath's ambition and thirst for power, but desire only destruction where as Riakath knows restraint. Though the summoner himself has committed shady acts in the past and has become infatuated with power, his aeon knows only how to utilize it's power to destroy. So long as Riakath has the means to command the Voice of Galagrith however, he is in full control of the orders Necrose must follow. Deity: Galagrith, God of Plagues and Death. Riakath was raised to worship he who granted his kind the power to use the dark arts. His acquisition of his Aeon involved a pact made to the god Galagrith. His faith in him however has wavered over the years as he know seeks his own path, giving praise to Galagrith only for the power he has obtained and not for the way his life must be lived. Background: Riakath was an apprentice to the great Xon Quexill, who in his time was one of the more feared and powerful Necromancers known throughout the land. He was raised in Mazzillir and taught the dark arts there for a great portion of his young life. Riakath grew powerful, but curious as well. It was this curiosity to immerse himself more into the known arts of the world that led him to independently study what was required to become a summoner. Riakath was raised to worship the god of plague and death, Galagrith. It was this very faith that played a major role in acquiring one of the mighty dark aeons famed throughout history. Riakath's desire to acquire a dark aeon to combine with his dark arts of necromancy was brought to the attention of his mentor. The meeting was in the presence of the great leader of the Dark Knights of Malzzillir, Mortis Blackheart however. "Master Quexill...with your guidance I have grown more powerful then i could have ever imagined. I ask that you oversee my progression to being worthy of commanding one of the dark aeons as a summoner!" Riakath said, kneeling before his mentor. Riakath's eyes only showed loyalty to Xon Quexill, others of the city would confess to being slightly instilled with fear when making contact with his eyes. Riakath would always be perceived as evil to those outside of the race of the Dark Elves, maybe not as much among the other elven races...but to humans especially he would be hated. Riakath however, had a growing thirst for power...and if evil meant he would acquire it by any means...perhaps popular conception would prove true in this case. Xon Quexill turned his glance slightly toward Mortis who stood tall in his dark armor watching on silently. He turned to his apprentice and responded. "Riakath...your acquisition of a dark aeon cannot be permitted. You must continue only on the path of the necromancer." These words infuriated Riakath. He thought for sure that if anyone were to understand his goals it would be his mentor. Riakath took his leave with great anger in his heart and left the two guild leaders behind. Mortis nodded in satisfaction to Xon as he left his quarters. Xon however, saw him out with a coniving grin that would surely mark the growth of the seeds of betrayal. Xon hurried after his young apprentice and caught up with him in his quarters. He entered and seated Riakath. "Haha, my young apprentice...how far you've come. My response to you back there was a ruse to merely satisfy the narrow conservative mind of that fool Mortis. Do desire so to embrace the arts of the summoner don't you?" "Master! Of course." Riakath stood and exclaimed. Xon laughed aloud and placed his arm around Riakath's shoulders. "Before I can even guide you through what it would require to obtain a dark aeon...we must first make it so that there are no obsticles. You see, tomorrow some representative of the order of the necromancers and summoners will accompany the Dark Knights of Mazzillir on a trade expedition to Silverymoon...Mortis of course will be at the front lines leading them. I think...we must make sure that tomorrow's excursion...is that fool's last." Xon explained to his apprentice. Riakath willing to do what it took to obtain the hallowed power of the dark aeons agreed, he knew what his master meant to happen, and he could make it so. The next day, during the trading pleasentries and protocols. Riakath had acquired an enchanted item the day before from his mentor, who stole it from the magician's guild of Mazzillir. With it, Riakath took the illusioned form of a high elf, and entered from the side of the field. He succeeded in taking Mortis's attention as an emissary from the king of Silverymoon, and the great leader of the Dark Knights welcomed him. There was no High Elf with the knowledge of necromancy, so what was about to befall him came quite unexpectedly. Riakath created a dark cloud infront of him and dissapeared from view. Mortis became engulfed and tried to wave his way out of the cloud. His horse, affected by the toxins threw Mortis to the ground and galloped away before finally collapsing. Mortis raised himself slightly but was swiftly met with a scythe to the neck, decapitating the great Dark Knight general of Mazzillir. Riakath broke the enchantment causing the high elf illusion and stood over Mortis's dead body with a look of indulgence and satisfaction. Riakath retreated to his guild master who awaited his return, secluded within the nearby forest. News of Mortis's death sent the dark elf envoy in disarray and allowed enough time for the now nearly vacated city of Mazzillir to serve as Xon and Riakath's domain for the ritual to acquire a dark aeon. "The city will be too busy with reinforcing retrieval forces for the envoy and search parties for the killer now...this will not take long. My dear apprentice, how ambitious you have become...your dark arts are without equal...i will show you the power that you desire...the power that you deserve. Hold close to you the bond with the great god Galagrith and accept this scroll. Read from it and discover how you come to summon your Unknown!" Xon said, handing Riakath the Voice of Galagrith scroll. Riakath held it in his hands and gazed at it in awe, like something was captivating him from deep within it. Xon made motions with his hands and some incantations, and the scroll soon engulfed Riakath in a dark aura. It was painful at first as it brought Riakath down to his knees, but he slowly arose with feelings of a newfound power that invigorated his very soul. "My dear boy...i have granted you the power of the great dragon of the underworld...Necrose. His power, at your command...you will be unstoppable." Xon laughed as he finished the ritual. They both knew that Riakath would never be allowed to stay within Mazzillir. Riakath was aware, and he knew he must make his own way from his home city. Xon supplied Riakath with things he might need and bade him farewell. Riakath intended on making a quick escape before Mazzillir repopulated again. Xon however with a perplexed look on his face stopped his former apprentice before he could leave the gates. "Haha...is this not the part where you...kill your old mentor?" Xon questioned. Riakath turned his head back. "Did you think i would?" he responded. "With the thirst for power you had, and now the acquisition of such power...you would be nearly unmatched to any necromancer or summoner from Mazzillir...it just seems like the right thing to do before carrying out your impending would be excommunication." Riakath laughed subtly and turned his head back around, and continued on his way. "Rest your soul my former mentor...and perhap one day, our paths will meet again" were Riakath's final words as he dissapeared out of sight from the gates of Mazzillir.

Raiha
Name: Ananda Sevenstar Age: 192 Appearance: Observe if you will the alabaster glow of her skin, which appears to be a product of scores of years spent in worship of her Goddess. Race: Wood Elf Alignment: Chaotic Good Profession: Priestess/Summoner -Unknown: Naginata Sword; long reach, capable of being multiplied to strike from multiple sides if Ananda concentrates particularly well. -Aeon: A group of three white tigers, those that hunt together, maim together, dine together. Deity: Etarlia; the natural choice for a woman so beautiful. Background: Born as one might imagine, into a Wood Elf home, raised and trained as a shrine priestess of Etarlia, serving in the forest temple. Ananda not only serves the High Priestess as one of the many present, but also is useful as the enforcer when any males that pass through become aggressive or act in a particularly foolish way. The temple, as you might imagine, is a haven of beautiful women, circled by huge cedar trees, guarded most zealously by Ananda and the blade that came to her as a child. Speaking of which, her early childhood was blighted by very little except the suffering of others. Old women, human and elven alike, bent over with the years spent in hard labor, came to pray, to be blessed by the Goddess, or prepare for their end. The yeomen that surround the temple, supporting it with their labor, dug the graves, but it was the priestesses and acolytes that were responsible for preparing the women for burial. This impressed heavily upon Ananda, the horrible mortality of life, regardless of race, and was instrumental in giving her the desire to be a perfect priestess. As a young girl of six, Ananda went through the various forms of training and service, sweeping the marble courtyards with willow brooms, scrubbing the inner sanctums with lemon oil, and preparing grounds for flowers to be grown. When she turned seven, gradually, it became apparent that she would grow into a true summoner. She passed the various tests of loyalty and desires to serve without a single flaw, showing compassion and grace on all counts. At puberty, she shed the robes of a child, and began to wear her own clothing, submitting to the forms laid out by the Order, but still expressing her own style. Her gift for growing flowers has since exploded into the ability to grow them out of air and water, flowing from her hair and clothing, and even springing to life to defend her or obscure her from view as she chooses. Now at the age of 192, which translates roughly into 20, she still serves, and prays, and tends the gardens and trellises she's helped to grow. Daily, she attends to the numerous women that flock to the shrines, praying for themselves, or pouring libations over graves, and gives aid to all that ask. Etarlia's worshipers take different vows, some the vow of Chastity, some the vow of Romance, and some, like Ananda, the vow of Honor above all else. All three serve Etarlia, worshipping her in various forms, Maiden, Mother, and Crone, but specializing in one. Ananda has chosen the Maiden form, and as a blessing, stays youthful so long as she continues in her service to Etarlia. The trials to become a fully fledged priestess include the prayers to the Goddess and the parting of waters. In the deepest heart of the temple of Etarlia lies a dark lake, completely cut off from sunlight, but strewn with lilies and warmed by fire. After the obligatory prayer to Etarlia, she will show a vision in the water, giving the priestess a power of her own and giving her a path to follow. Incidentally, Ananda's path of life is that of Unobtainable Love, that which makes men sigh and grow faint with desire, but remain forever cut off from. A wild summon, gone out of control, the first Ananda had tried without direct supervision, spawning three gigantic tigers. The first sprang from her forehead, with huge eyes of blue and gold. The second burst from her heart, with claws of steel. The third, and last came from her hands, lithe and agile as any house cat. In her mind she saw them each with names that could never be spoken, and they saw her with their own names for her. Each came to her, and instead of destroying the summoner that had brought them to life so unexpectedly, they rubbed against her, whispered to her and told her of their skills. All three served her in various ways, growing as she did, and changing with her moods. The first of the tigers to emerge led the others when necessary, taking a tactical stance. The second was the muscle, showing brute strength and the savagery that must have been an expression of the chaos in Ananda's soul. The third was the binding agent, bringing both the wisdom of her mind and the power in her heart together, and creating a horrifically dangerous aeon. He usually carries a black quarter staff; it is made from black oak and polished perfectly both sides are rounded and has a long spiral design going from end to end. He also carries a broad sword that has a very sturdy handle and has a special, hardly noticeable, latch on it that can be released with one fluid thumb movement, once the latch is released the sword then splits into two separate sword, makes him that much more effective in combat and good for multiple enemies. He carries one more weapon, a knife called Stiehl. This single bladed weapon as a lot of rumors floating around it, one rumor is it was created in the magic of old and has untapped potential, other rumors state that the blade can kill anything that it comes in contact with, more say that it can cut through any material known to the races. It is unusual for someone of Allanons alignment to make a pact with such a law restricted God, but he doesn?t see it as oddly as others do. He sees it as a way to accomplish what he wants, and he and Adune do follow the same basic principles, both believe truth is vital while maintaining a sense of honor. Though, Allanon values truth and honor in a different sense then his deity, to bind them together, Adune gave Allanon the knowledge he needed to be his profession. Background: Allanon is a rather interesting person, his life was pretty normal; he didn?t hunger for war or for blood. He didn?t thirst for conquest of the world and didn?t have much care or views on the Deities of his life; they did nothing for him and did nothing to prove their existence to him. So, he lived on, working like any regular person, taking odd jobs to pay for the food he consumed and saved some to eventually own a home. While he was doing on of his odd jobs of working at a rather fancy and ?sophisticated? restaurant, he spotted a woman that he still can never forget, for more then just her looks. The woman changed his life from that day, everyday he would try to get work in the same restaurant just so he could see her once more. And everyday he worked there she was there, eating lunch or meeting with another he would stare at her for a few moments each day and looked as if he was in a trance, but he would go right back to work. A few times, the woman caught him staring and he would turn away quickly, going back to work. The woman would just smile every time and go back to her business, soon enough, a single day there would change his life. One day, as he saw her sitting at a table alone, reading a book, he decided to take a risk and talk with her. So, he stopped working and worked his way to her, he was about twenty-six at the time and the woman looked a little younger then him. He seated himself at the table and started talking to her, and much to his surprise, she actually set her book down and paid attention. Responding to him and then would converse back, Allanon found out a lot about her that day, finding out her name was Adriana. Day after day they would meet up and just talk; the conversations started out normal enough but then progressed to personal things that someone wouldn?t normal reveal to someone they had just met. The next day they grew closer and closer, hitting the point where they would meet they would kiss and embrace each other. In about four week?s time, they both seemed to be in love, so Allanon took the chance and asked Adriana to marry him, she accepted and they married a month later. Both of them with their combined money, and bought a nice home for the both of them. The very first morning, after he took her to bed that night, he awoke to find she was gone; he searched relentlessly through their home to find her. But he found no trace, everything that was about her was gone, nothing was left which was odd to Allanon. But he couldn?t get pasted the fact she was gone and there wasn?t even a faint trace of her scent left over or a foot print. After she had disappeared, Allanon was left in a depressed state so lost in the world that he could do nothing but venture out into the forest and wonder for hours. One day, the wondering got him somewhere, he had been wondering aimlessly through the large trees and thick foliage of bushes and other indigenous plants he came across a stream feeding into a large pool of water. It was teaming with fish, frogs, dragonflies and many other forms of life, when he got to the edge he dropped to his knees and stared into the clear waters. He saw his reflection staring back, and what he saw was awful, it was a gaunt man who had the look of defeat and was eternally damned to walk past these trees with no other purpose. With this recognition of his inner hell, he started to sob, and scream and thrash and tear away at the grass under him, and the plants around him. All of his rage, tears, sorrows and frustration unleashing upon this single area and in the midst of this, he suddenly remembered his parents and the deity they worshipped. Adune. He went back to the pond and screamed into the air for Adune to give him the power to find the truth about what happened to Adriana and to restore his honor in his own eyes. Much to his surprise, Adune responded, appearing to him in a brilliant glow of pure white light coming off of a pair of golden gates that opened up slowly. As if they hadn?t been opened in centuries, and then a man with armor thrown about his being appeared and his face was dead set on Allanon. He spoke in an angelic voice with such power and confidence that Allanon had fallen to his knees and stared up at him with his dark eyes. Adune spoke to him about how he would have to align himself with him until the day Allanon died, and in return he would give him the prowess and intuition to accomplish his goal. Allanon willingly accepted, with the bargain struck, Adune sent his magic through Allanon white light shooting through his body and seeping from his mouth, eyes, and ears as they infused him with the physical skill and the mental awareness he needed to do as he promised. After the knowledge had been permanently imprinted on his mind, the light evaporated and all that was left was a Allanon that everyone knows today, as Allanon the Weapons master. And as Allanon found, his mind wasn?t the only thing he could use to his advantage, but his body had been re-strengthened and given speed and agility he never had before. And to cement the deal, Adune gave Allanon one last thing, he gave him his quarter staff. After that, Allanon disappeared, selling his home and living off the land hunting for what he promised he would find.

Disenchanted
EDIT: All finished, please let me know if anything needs fixing+++ Name: Tayla Lorlindal Age: 45 Appearance: [Tayla] Tayla?s ears are not quite so large; they are more human like with a light point. Because of her mixed heritage Tayla only looks a few years younger than she actually is. She has a small physique and can be exceptionally quick, giving her an advantage over cumbersome foes. Race: Half Elf -Half High Elf -Half Human Alignment: True neutral Profession: Healer// Mercenary Both have equal precedence over her life. Weapon: -Bow and arrows -Five Small throwing daggers Tayla also keeps with her at all times a bag of potions and other various herbal remedies, she uses a combination of Elven and human medicines to heal those that need it. Deity: Marlethar?Rallos- God of Healing and to a much lesser extent Maroz?Zar- God of War. Background: Tayla Lorlindal was born to a high elf by the name of Arlina Lorlindal and a human by the name of Talin Thor. She was an unwanted by-product of their love for one another. Both coming from very noble familles, such a union was unacceptable and made worse by a child. Arlina hid her pregnancy from her family and at the appropriate time had the child in secret. Doing nothing more for the child other than naming it they ordered it to be taken away. Her human father was a well known warrior and strategist and her mother a noble high elf. At the moment of her birth Tayla was taken from her parents by their wishes and abandoned near Edomfray. She was taken in by a young male half elf by the name of Marcus Orl?n, and so he acted as her father from then on, growing to love her dearly. His own wife had died of an incurable disease while pregnant with their first child, he prayed for the god Marlethar?Rallos to bless him with a companion and so received Tayla, the child he never had. Thanking the god he took her in and raised her as his own, teaching her all he knew of the art of healing. Tayla learnt many secrets as she grew, becoming quite proficient in healing others and treating their wounds, also learning of way to incapacitate and the vital points at which to strike enemies should she ever cross any. The warrior in her soul was just as dominant as the healer in her and so she became a mix of the two, in her spare time training with a bow and arrow while practising her healing skills. Marcus never approved of her interest in battle but let her be. Marcus in time became ill with same disease that had befallen his wife; try as she might Tayla could not save hi, from the sickness. Grief stricken that the only person in the world who had given a dam about her was dead, she closed down his place of healing and left. At the time not quite knowing what she was looking for, neither belonging with the elves or humans. Eventually Tayla?s skills caught the eye of a Mercenary simply named Falin; he saw the potential in her kills with a bow and also her skills as a healer. He employed her as a healer first and foremost, and so began her life as a mercenary, accompanying Falin and his men wherever they were needed and healing their wounds whenever they were hurt. Her skills with Elven and human techniques made for a powerful combination. Tayla grew tired of Falin over time and left him to find her own way, roaming the lands and healing those that would pay for her skills. Domon
Name: Cael Age: 26 Appearance: Cael stands about 6' 2" with shoulder-length sandy brown hair, he has light brown skin, hazel colored eyes, and a muscular build. He usually wears a white robe, much like a priest. The fabric though looks like its made from dragon scales. Under that he wears a dark blue tunic with gold trim. He also wears pitch black pants and black boots. Race: Human Alignment: Chaotic Good Profession: Summoner Unknown: Ta' Zo The blades have flames carved into them and the handles are bound with red leather with gold trim on the edges, the pommels are blood-red rubies. The blades tend to appear on fire if seen in the right light and tend to always be warm even in the coldest of weather. If kept close to one's body, just one weapon is enough to keep a person's body warm. Aeon: Bahamut One of the most powerful dragons known. He appears and blasts the enemy with his powerful Mega Flare or he'll tear the enemy apart with his immense claws. The mighty dragon first came to Cael in dreams and illusions. At first the boy thought that he was going crazy. Then finally in one dream the dragon explained what was happening to the boy and that he meant no harm. In fact he wanted to aid the young boy, and so the two became friends. Bahamut was able to share some things like being aware of one's surroundings, and how to percieve things to a greater degree, and how to talk your way out of a situation if it allows, and to always keep up your end of the bargin no matter what. Though the dragon knew what he was talking about Cael would not listen most of the time until one day when Cael was 17 he was out in the plains he was suddenly attacked by some powerful beasts. The boy quickly called forth his Aeon but when Bahamut tried to give the boy some advice, Cael quickly ignored him and started in on his own until he was injured. Cael quickly realized that his Aeon was right and he listened to the dragon and was able to beat the monsters with the advice from his Aeon. From then on the two have had a relationship that seems almost on another level. When they speak to each other they tend to finish each other's sentences. While the dragon may seem like he knows a lot he does not acknoledge a gray area. Its strictly black and white, good and evil, bluffing or not. This however is like most dragons and tends to get them into trouble. This is what Cael hopes to help Bahamut in learning. That there are gray areas in the realm of good and evil and so on. Deity: Vrolisk. Cael worships the dragon goddess because she is the one who set the creation of everything into motion. He believes that she deserves her respects. Background: Cael grew up in a family of lower nobles. They were wealthy, but as wealthy as a majority of the nobles. It was always this way because his family, like him worshipped the Dragon Goddess Vrolisk. A lot of the people disagreed with their philosophies and they were considered noble outcasts. When Cael turned sixteen he realized that he might be a summoner. When he revealed this to his parents he was sent to Orgam's school to learn of how to be a summoner. On his twenty-fifth birthday he was told by his master that he was no longer an apprentice but a full fledged summoner. With that Cael set off on his own adventure. Though he still checks in on his master from time to time. At the current time he is visiting Orgam to catch up on old times and see how some of the new students are doing.
Doublehex
I would like to ask that everyone talks about the relationship between their aeon and their chracter. Of course, this applies to Summoner's only. If you need an example, look at mine.

Aurons Ghost
Name: Azeck Age: 24 Appearance: Azeck Race: Orc Alignment: Lawful Evil Profession: Summoner / Axe Wielder Unknown: DuQ?lon. It manifests in a form using mythril in the blade and a handle made from wood cursed by the dark elves. Legend has it that it was originally intended to drive an ancient elven prince insane, leaching off their strong tendencies for brotherhoods and giving the owner an overwhelming impression of loss. Azeck however had already lost everything when began using it. This disrupted the magic inside it, and now provides strength in times of solitude, and becomes weak should he find himself in an alliance. Aeon: Lodur. A lone wolf that has appeared to Azeck for years. He has guided him through times of abandonment, and offers a channel for Azeck to use up his aggressive impulses that are natural to the Orc kind. Lodur first appeared to Azeck in the desert outside Freeport when he was young. He thought Lodur was a predator, evicted from its pack like he was abandoned by his people. Each too weak to fight the other, and so a waiting game began for who would die first. Or at least that is what Azeck thought. Nine days later when the Orc finally did collapse, it was Lodur who dragged him to a nearby village, and who convinced the locals there to raise the boy, as they?re if he was a mere human like them. Lodur has stayed with him ever since. The aggressive nature of the Orcs has been hard to control in Azeck, and Lodur has helped by providing an outlet for the aggression in any way he can. Both consider themselves lucky that Lodur, though as fragile as any living being, can never be killed by mortal weapons. Deity: Galagrith. Azeck considers his kind to be highly traitorous for abandoning him in the plains outside Freeport when he was so young. Though his adoptive parents, and even Lodur have tried to convince him that his fate was a mere accident, a result of his family clan being unexpectedly overwhelmed by predators while travelling through, he has often felt it is a point of honour for his people to retrieve him so he may start a new clan to replace that which was lost. Yet none have come looking for him, and the few that do travel through his new home look down on him with disdain for living with ?pitiful humans who value nothing except their own well being?. As a result he has grown hateful of his kind, and contrary to the peaceful beliefs he has been surrounded by for years, he prays to Galagrith in the hope that one day he may bring a plague to Areth and eradicate the Orc population. Background: Azeck was indeed abandoned as a child. His whole clan were excommunicated from Orc society. His father claimed it was a simple misunderstanding that the Patrich Clan were the ones being dishonourable, but his arguments fell on deaf ears, or the ears of family who had heard this many times already. Three months after leaving Aggarathar they entered the Freeport desert, and were ambushed by several large and fierce beasts. No one had eaten for days, and the fight they put up against the creatures was pathetically futile. Azeck, being the youngest, and least filling for the creatures, was left for dead once they had eaten their fill of his family. That was when Lodur first appeared to him on the horizon, and so did the DuQ?lon. Azeck woke from the attack to feel the sand soaked in blood. The bodies of his parents and older siblings lay around him, and in the centre of it all, half buried in the ground, stood the axe. Despite the carnage around him, he approached it and tore it from its foundation. It glowed somewhat, and shook as blue sparks ran across its length, before becoming silent in his hands. He felt stronger now, and despite the wolf on the horizon, he began marching towards the Freeport, unsure of what he may find there. Nine days later he woke up in a small village along the road to Freeport, a dog lay sleeping by the side of his too small bed, and a concerned human couple stood over him. He reached for the DuQ?lon but it was gone. In panic the young Orc smashed his way from the hut, only to be met with six men, each carrying a sword. The dog that had been sleeping padded out to find him, and explained everything to him, and convinced him to become part of this community. Fourteen years passed since then before he discovered what the dog really was. The Wolf from the desert, the Aeon Lodur. The animal that had many times been brought close to physical death in painful attempts for Azeck to control the anger in his blood. But the aeon could not prevent what was to be, could not predict what would happen when he discovered his adoptive father was having an affair. The dishonour he brought on his family, even his adoptive son, for cheating on his wife was all it took for Azeck to lose control. Using an assortment of kitchen utensils, he exacted penance on the man. Executed him in a most painful manner, a manner that he had only vague recollections of from Aggarathar. Fearing what the humans may do to him, he abandoned his own honour and fled the town. Lodur followed him, and the DuQ?lon reappeared in his hands. Not long after that, he heard of a master Summoner in the city of Torikarn who was looking for students to continue his legacy. Wanting to forget what he had done to the humans who cared for him, and raised him, he sought out Ogarn. The old man was so happy to have an Orc as a student; ?The being who may bring an end to the bloodthirsty practicality of the Orc? was his wish for Azeck. Azeck wanted none of it though, just wanted to learn how to be a master Summoner so that he may bring the end to the Orcs. At night he prayed to Galagrith so that he would not have to, and during the day when not immersed in study, he sparred with anyone who thought themselves worthy, or Lodur when the drunks learnt to avoid Azeck's haunts. Azeck hates himself and what he is. Some may say he shows signs of being suicidal, but he has no intentions of dying until he is the last breathing Orc. They abandoned him and his family when he was a child, and their instincts led him to butcher the man he called father. He only feigns love for all beings as a means to an end, to learn what Ogarn knows.
Kitty
Name - Valaina Ancalimë [pronounced 'vah-la-ee-na ah-n-cal-im-ee'], but casually referred to as Vala Age - 176 Appearance - Vala [art (c) lglsdragon@devART] Race - High Elf Alignment - Neutral Evil Profession - Summoner Unknown - Vala uses a large axe, dubbed simply Telrúnya, the Vessel. It is pure mithril, making it extremely powerful and valuable. While mithril is known for being a good conductor for lightning and electricity, she utilizes its magical capabilities to enhance her ice-oriented spells. She has often encountered selfish merchants and smiths that try and trick her out of it, figuring that a young, female elf would have no idea of its power when they see her summon it. However, they often end up painfully hanging from a random roof by only their underwear. Aeon - Alatariel [art (c) rleeny@devART] is a being that commands the winter to his will, a power Vala respects him for. The two met the winter before Vala became one of Ogram's apprentices. Alatariel, not a very compassionate creature, stumbled upon her while searching for something to eat. She was curled up in a cloak that seemed much too large for her, and when he asked her why he shouldn't devour her whole, she struggled to hold up her hand to summon Telrúnya before telling him, "Because I won't let you without a fight." Finding her resilience admirable, instead of eating her, he sat beside her and covered her with his feathery wing to warm her up. Since then, Alatariel has been very protective of Vala, though she rarely openly shows her compassion for him in return. Despite this, the two share an unspoken bond and mutual respect with one another that no other person or creature could match. Deity - Vala, being a High Elf, believes in Analalrae. However, her faith often wears thin, and she is not as devout to the Goddess of Life as the rest of her brethren. Her wavering faith in Analalrae was often cited as the cause of her poor behavior while she still resided in Silverymoon. Background - "Valaina Ancalimë, daughter of High Priest Rúmil Ancalimë, are hereby expatriated from the Elven city, Silverymoon. Once escorted past the city's limits, you will not be allowed to return without punishment. Your sanction will vary depending on what you do should you foolishly decide to come back. Analalrae forgive you, child." With that, the young elf was dismissed, and as she left the Queen's presence, Valaina felt the burning stares of onlookers. She had been banished, and it had been witnessed by everyone. But she kept a twisted grin on her face, swearing she'd never come back to Silverymoon until she was ready to kill the selfish ones that did this to her. After all, nothing she had done, out of all her mischief, was worthy of banishment. But a small group of who she had thought were friends had blown her actions out of proportion and reported them to Her Majesty. Why they would purposefully do such a thing was beyond her, and the mix of confusion, fear, and hatred she felt developed into the terrible bitterness of her character. Valaina, only fifty at the time, was still a young child in elven years. She left with only the cape she had inherited from her late brother, and Telrúnya, the sword she had summoned only five years after her birth. When she was very little, only ten or eleven, her mother disappeared without a trace. Valaina's family was one of riches, power and fame, and the disappearance of such a figure caught the attention of the city. However, all investigations and efforts in finding the elven woman were unsuccessful. Her older brother, whom she had looked up to, found no solace after their mother vanished. He left, not telling his sister why, leaving her with only his favorite cape to console her. Valaina was then raised by a broken father and her maids, unaware of how her brother was doing until he was found dead around her thirteenth birthday. After that, she grew up resentful, haughty and self-righteous, developing a passion for manipulating those around her to get what she wanted from them. Those she considered friends had to be from the upper class, and even then, she felt she was above them. She knew no other summoners her age, giving her a feeling of superiority that made her 'friends' jealous of and annoyed with her. She was well known through Silverymoon for being a manipulative prankster by the age of thirty, and even better known for not getting in trouble. But when she unknowingly played her particular kind of 'game' on a rather powerful elf's daughter, those who wanted her to get her dues finally seized their chance. Once she was forced to leave the city, she roamed the land looking for somebody to train her. She knew she was a summoner, but that was about it. She changed masters hundreds of times over the hundred years before she met Alatariel and Ogarn. She has now been Ogarn's apprentice for almost thirty years now, and has grown resentful of his other apprentices for gaining more of his favor even though she has been with him the longest. --- edit :: Sorry this took so long to get up. o3o;; *hides from Doublehex*

Kitty was an exception because she went into large detail in her other categories. Also, Adas, I know you were competing with Kitty for her spot as one of the apprentices, but you said taht you'd just chance your relation as a friend of Malphris, so I decided to just go with Kitty. I look forward to your post. :)
