Cody laughed at the girl and Coco and patted Rorita on the shoulder. "Actually, I think you have power over Nature, Rorita." Rorita replied with a smile and got back onto her feet. Cody looked at his friend Coco.

"So why don't you show them your power, Coco?" he smirked. Coco looked down and blushed a little bit.

"Shut up, dude. You know it's too bright out." he said, covering his finger with a fist. He noticed everyone was looking at him so he decided to just explain the power rather than show them.

"Alright, basically when it's dark out my finger shines like a flashlight. Obviously I've got the power of light." he finished. Everyone nodded and turned to someone else, but before the other three kids in the group could show their own powers, a loud growl came from the sky. Everyone looked up and saw nothing.

Right as they were lowering their heads again, three arrows wizzed past their faces and stuck into the playground behind them. The Elements ducked down for cover and scrambled over to a large plastic tent meant for kids.

"What the hell?!" yelled Cody. He had his hands over his head, as if that would stop an arrow from piercing it. Rorita was looking through a little peep hole in the tent and whispered to the whole group when she saw something.

"They're here," she said, grabbing everyone's attention. "Three men dressed in black cloaks with bows. They're faces are covered but they look to be in their mid-twenties."

"What are they doing?" asked Coco.

"Just standing there. They want to fight." There was silence. Nobody dared say anything, but they were all thinking the same.

"We have to fight--" Coco said.

"Are you nuts?!" interrupted Shisto. "How are we supposed to fight three men with bows and arrows? We have no weapons!"

"I disagree." said Liam. He jumped out of the plastic tent and ran towards the three hooded men. Just as they drew back their arrows, he stuck out his hand and when he went to activate a small fire he ended up doing much more than that. A huge flame engulfed one of the men and he fell to the ground, charred.

Everyone stared in awe at Liam, the fire elemental. But amongst all the excitement, Liam had forgotten there were still another two archers. Two arrows broke his skin, one in the calf and another in his chest. He fell to the ground. Coco yelled out to his friend and jumped out of the plastic barrier, running towards the body of Liam.

Just before two more arrows were fired, this time at Coco, he stuck out his hand an immense bright light flashed at their eyes. They both fell to their knees, grabbing their eyes. They didn't regain their sight until Coco was safe back in the barricade.

Quickly, Rorita pulled the arrow and placed her hand on the wound. It seemed as though she was doing all of this without thinking and the rest stared at Liam. Without thinking, Cody jumped to his feet.

"Fuck this," he said. "We have to fight. Did you see what Liam did? Before he could only make a small flame but it seems that his anger activated a bigger part of his power... what do you guys say?"

"I'll stay here with Rorita and Liam," Coco replied. "I'm actually kind of dizzy after that burst of light so I won't be much use anyway."

"Shit!" yelled Shisto, who was now looking out the peephole. "There are five more of them now..."

When the three men first appeared, Cody had felt nothing but fear. Like everyone else, he took shelter in the odd tent. Under normal circumstances, he would have wondered why any kids would have found a random tent amusing, but in the current situation, his mind played home to an intense, terrifying fear that seemed to pound in his ears. However, the second that Liam was pierced by the two arrows, everything snapped. Cody?s shy nature was instantly lost, and rage both filled and clouded his mind. ?Fuck this!? he shouted, as soon as he saw that Liam was in Rorita?s seemingly safe hands. ?We have to fight!? He thought her heard Shisto mention something about enemy reinforcements, but the words were lost upon him. You bastards? you bastards!

Cody went to rush out, be he felt a firm hand on his shoulder. ?What the hell do you think you?re doing!?? It was Archer?s voice, but Cody didn?t turn to talk back to him ? he just continued to struggle, but Archer?s iron-like grip held him in place. ?You?re smarter then this! Don?t go rushing out or you?ll end up like him!? with that he pointed to Liam. Cody stopped struggling, but brushed Archer?s hand off of his back. Panting heavily, the rage that had consumed him moments before was beginning to dissipate. Suddenly, he felt embarrassed with everyone?s eyes upon him, and he began to revert to his shy self.

?I?m sorry guys?. We need a plan?. Coco?? Cody turned to Coco, hoping he would have an idea as to how to get out of the trap they were now caught in.

?Well, what if Jake changes the wind direction and speed so that it?s blowing against them? That would render their bows relatively ineffective.? Coco said.

?Hmm? it might work? Jake replied. ?One way to find out, right?? Jake raised his hands slowly, and all of the elementals could instantly feel the wind shift. How is it that only a few minutes ago, Jake could barely touch the wind, and yet now he can control it like he?s been practicing for months. Perhaps our elements are emotion based? which would be proof enough to back up the reason why Liam?s fire grew so much stronger when he was angry ? his anger triggered some sort of elemental surge! It all made sense to Cody, but at this time, he had no proof to back it up.

?I?ll hold them here? Jake grunted ? his concentration on the wind seemed to be taking a toll on his physical state. ?Go get these bastards before I lose them!?

?Alright, now we kill them!? Archer yelled, and was the first through the flap of the tent. Cody quickly followed him with the rest right on his tail. Outside the tent was already chaos.

Two of the archers were still trying to fire their arrows, but their once-deadly weapons only flew a couple of feet before turning back in the roaring wind before they sunk into the ground. The other three had advanced closer to the tent flap with swords drawn. Archer was already fighting with one of them ? the two were struggling to take control of the sword. Cody always had a strong sense of honor ? especially when it came to fighting. However, seeing as how the enemy had swords and were all older and stronger than the group of elementals, his sense of a fair-fight went somewhat out the window. He ran over to the man Archer was fighting and kicked him in the groin. Another of the shadowy figures struck out at Cody with his sword, but Archer took up the now fallen enemy?s sword and blocked the blow. Cody stumbled back and struck out with his hands, except something unexpected happened ? a large, shadowy tendril whipped out and struck the assassin across the face. The man screamed in agony as he crumpled the ground. Cody stood up to continue fighting, but something hit him across the head and he too collapsed to the ground. The last thing he saw before he lost consciousness was Shisto and Clyne using their elemental powers to fight off the enemies.

Archer slanted down into a premeditive combat pose, holding the blade a few inches above his head with a strong arm, his left leg arched forward and the right squared. He looked down at Cody and swore underneath his breath, and then turned around, letting the blade slip out of his fingertips and sink into the earth. It didnt' stop one it hit, instead it rose out in a flurry of a massive hand of sand, holding the blade like a butter knife. The sand melted out of the shape of a hand, instead wrapping around Archer slowly. He grinned softly.

"Come and taste what even the calmest earth has to offer, fools. Just because you're human doesn't mean I'll go easy on you. You've hurt one of my...friends." His breath was quite calm, his voice calm, almost happy. They didn't see it coming. They thought the blade had dissapeared, but instead, it shot out of the sand in a rain of a thousand steel fragments, each aimed at the group of enemies. They yelped and then managed to dive into the way of the trees, the shards sticking dangerously out of the ground and foilage.

The sand quickly retreated back to Archer, laying inert at his feet. It was slightly...taxing to keep it going at all times, but he could raise it as quickly as he wanted to. The sand slowly began to swirl around his feet, rising up into a large, stone structure that slid into the shape of a large cleaving sword. It curved at the end into a wicked hook, the sand melting off of the edge to show a sort of bluish steel tint to the heavy stone. And yet, Archer lifted it easily. He bowed his head into a prayer before he ran forward, heaving up the large zweihander shaped sword in a battle cry, ready to take revenge on those that would dare to hurt his new companions.

Jake's hair flowed with the wind he was creating as if hanging on for dear life...so not to be blown away with the gust. His eyes changed from his usual calm tone to a concentrated one, but that slowly changed overtime as well to a withstanding tone...as if fighting back his own pain. He turned his attention briefly toward Archer who was charging in at one of the men with one of their own swords. Jake realized Archer's intentions and took his focus off the wind for a second.

"Hey! Archer, be careful!" Jake yelled, so to be heard over the wind.

"Don't worry about me! He's going to pay!" Archer yelled back as he thrusted the sword forward. The blade impaled the man as Jake turnes his head away. The wind began to get weaker, still offering sizeable resistance but not to the degree it once was.

'Man...there must have been another way of dealing with this...but I guess those guys didn't give us much choice...what the hell do they want anyway?' Jake wondered to himself, wishing they didn't have to be put into the situation that involved taking the lives of others. Jake's train of thought was distracted by one of the other men with a sword coming at him against the wind, practically at arms length. Jake felt his stomach twist as he felt no hope of moving in time. He closed his eyes and thought hard of a way out, his mind focused on repelling his assailant by some means that didn't seem likely at the moment. The man swung his sword down as Jake closed his fists as if on instinct...it seemed to trigger a change in the wind's density as a highly concentrated blade of pure air, differentiated by the rest of the gust by it's thicker crescent shape, propelled forward and sliced the attacker's hand clear off.

"H...huh? What did I, just do? I've never been able to do that before." Jake said to himself in shock. The wind had completely stopped now, as Jake lost the proper concentration and power to uphold it. The man clutched his handless wrist and stared at it. Out of anger he went for the sword with his other hand, expecting to kill Jake for what he did.

Clyne directed her attention toward Jake, she noticed the man and ran toward him with a concerned look on her face.

"Jake! Watch out!" she yelled, as she began to concentrate her elemental energy between her hands. Clyne wound up and took aim at the man with her eyes heavily set. She had expected the normal ball of energy she was used to creating to come out, but she was taken by surprise the moment a quick stream of lightning shot from her fingertips, much smaller then your typical bolt of lightning but quite effective as it struck the blade as the man picked the sword up. It caused an intense electrocution leaving the attacker unconscious in a kneeling position...smoke emitting from his motionless body. Jake covered his eyes with his arm to protect his eyes from the light from being so close. He looked down after it was over and saw the man.

"C...Clyne? Did...you do that?" Jake asked cautiously.

"Um...I think so. I just did what i always do...but it came out...different...and stronger." she answered...gazing at her hands.

The collective efforts of the group had allowed them to take their attackers down to 3 thus far. Inside the tent Rorita tried her hardest to focus her powers toward healing Liam...she wasn't quite sure how to do it but found figuring it out a tad less complicated then she has first thought. Though it was puzzling how a girl with the power over nature could pull this sort of thing off. She looked up for a few seconds and looked at Coco.

"Coco, the wind stopped. Do you think they're ok out there?" she asked in a panicky tone.

"I'm sure they're fine...I don't know why, but I feel that they'll be succesful." Coco said, nodding his head to reassure Rorita. She just looked up at Coco for a bit, then nodded...trusting his word. She looked back down to Liam to see that he was doing slightly better then before.

Rorita was still in shock. Her little adventure had suddenly turned into a ruthless battle. A million questions raced through her mind. Who are those men? Why were they after us? How did they know we were here?

Suddenly Liam moaned. Rorita pulled off her hands from his wound and was amazed to see that it was gone. Completely.

"Unbelievable!" Coco gasped. "Not even a scar! Way to go, Rorita!"

Rorita couldn't help but to blush in front of the much older boy. She turned her attention back to Liam, who was still a bit pale, but was already trying to sit up.

"Whoa, just relax, dude!" Coco said, pushing him back down. "You just got pierced by two arrows!"

"But I feel just fine!" Liam opposed. "What's going on out there? Are the others still fighting?"

Rorita peeked outside. "Yeah. Looks pretty nasty. Severed limbs and heads everywhere. And large pools of blood."

Rorita was excited. It was just like the movies she liked to watch! Nature at it's wildest...

All Liam could remember before blacking out was the anger and hatred he felt towards these men attacking him and his friends...and the two arrows stuck in his chest. Waking from his state of unconsciousness that the pain had given him he saw that little girl sitting over him in the tent. Liam tried to find the wounds where the arrows hit, but couldn?t find even a scratch. Liam tried to sit up to see what was going on but was pushed back down gently by Coco. Even though he was miraculously healed it didn?t look like he had all his strength back yet.
"Just relax dude, you just got pierced by two arrows"
"Don?t worry, I feel just fine" And that was the truth. He was a little tired but all in all he felt completely fine. Liam heard like what sounded like a distant scream but was carried off by a large gust of wind.
"What's going on out there? Are the others still fighting?" Liam asked Coco, but he found the little girl, Rorita he thought her name was, answered him.
"Yeah. Looks pretty nasty. Severed limbs and heads everywhere. And large pools of blood." She looked pretty amped up and excited for some reason.
"Well you're only the freakiest eight year old I've ever met."
"I'm twelve. Jerk." Liam was taken back by the little girls attitude.
"Alright well the big kids are going to talk now." He turned his back the little girl to talk to Coco.
"Hey I'd be a little nicer to her from now on dude, she just saved your life." Liam leaned in closer to Coco.
"...You mean did that crazy flower thing to me?"
"Yeah, I guess so. It looks like our little friend here can heal people, not just plants. Looks like you owe Rorita one dude."
They both looked back over to Rorita who had a very proud grin stretching from ear to ear. Liam stuck out his tongue. Rorita sighed and told Liam to grow up.
"I don't have time for this, I have to help the others." Liam found his strength was returning to him as he got up to leave the tent. Coco grabbed his shoulder before he could leave.
"Liam you can't go out there, you?re weak and could get hit again."
"Hey don?t worry about it. If I do we can just get sparky magoo over there to use her flower power on me again." He saw Rorita roll her eyes at him. He turned back and stepped through the flap of the tent.

It was absolute chaos outside. He saw the girl, Clyne he thought her name was, shock one of the men dressed in black while Jack cut another's hand off with what looked like air. What in God's name is going on here? As he scanned the field he saw Cody struggling with one of the men in black and then some sort of thing that words cant explain slashed out at the man and he screamed in agony. Unaware to Cody, another of the men in black was sneaking up behind him with one of the strange blades they were carrying. Without hesitation anger overtook Liam and flames spouted from his first consuming his whole right arm. These flames that licked up his arm didn?t burn at all. In fact it was a very cold sensation. There was no time to think about this now though. Liam jumped forward and punched the man with all the strength he had in him. But it seemed like he had more strength, more power, because the man flew back and right into Cody, knocking him to the ground.

The man scrambled to get up as Liam walked closer, moving in to finish the kill. This man had attacked Cody, who was like a brother to him. He would have no mercy. The man dropped his sword and tried to run but Liam grabbed him by the scruff of his cloak. Liam turned him around, he wanted to see the face of this man he was going to kill, this beast. He looked into the cloak and saw bright white shining eyes and a very pale face. Liam took his right hand, still engulfed in flame, and grabbed the mans face. The fire spread over the man's body almost instantly and engulfed him entirely. It did not take him long to stop moving. Liam waited for the fire to die out and threw the charred remains to the ground. No Mercy...

He leaned down to Cody to check and see if he was all right. It took a few moments before he opened his eyes.
"Hey dude, what happened?"
"I sorta shot a dude into you with...well my fist...my baddass flame fist."
Cody sat up now. The others were busy with the other men in black and they seemed to have it under control.
"Yeah, I took a dudes face off with a tendril thing."
"Sweet." It was just as it was when the two of them were younger, and before all this happened.
"Hey! What happened to those arrows!? How are you even moving right now!?"
"That girl Rorita can do some pretty amazing stuff."
"Wow. So how are you feeling then?"
"Physically, fine. But you'd be surprised what a comment from an eight year old girl will do to the old self esteem."
"She's twelve."
