Following the major enhancements in the next generation of console gaming, and seeing as there is a tendency for various tech support related threads to pop up in Hardwired which can be answered quite swiftly and generate little to no discussion, the Hardwired staff have decided to create one thread in which all of your hardware and software technical support related queries can be answered. Whether it is a damaged memory card you're dealing with, or want to know how to get online with a certain system, or even something as simple as advice on how to keep your CDs in tip-top condition, then this is the place to ask. Just please note that this thread is not for getting help in any game you may be stuck in.

Aside from posting in this thread to get the technical support you need, there is a selection of great online resources that are worth checking out, which I've provided in the links below:

Nintendo Tech Support
Nintendo Wi-Fi Tech Support
PlayStation Tech Support (America)
PlayStation Tech Support (Europe)
PSP Tech Support (Europe)
X-Box/360 Tech Support

Some of the sites include advice on other systems as well as the current generation, so for example, the PlayStation Tech Support page for America will include advice related to the PSP, and the Nintendo Tech Support page includes advice for pretty much every Nintendo console to date.

You can expect the list to be updated with technical support corresponding to the Wii and the PS3 following their releases, but where any other console is concerned, those sites should provide more than a mouthful of information.

So, if you feel stuck with any of the advice provided for in the above websites, or fail to understand all of the technical jargon, then this is the thread you want to post in. Oh, and, it's important to note that almost any warranty that comes with a system's purchase will become void once you open the console's outer shell casing, so in the event of any necessary internal repairs, it's best to consult customer service than try and deal with it yourself.

Its me again I posted 2 others about the ds wifi connection. I have a linksys wrt54g v.3 wireless router and I tried to connect but it won't let me and the router has no security wep. and I should be able do connect with out the wep key but the error code 51300 keepts appearing and I don't know why it won't let me. Maybe I need to set the routers access point to a differnent port (such as 1,2,3,4). I have two computers using that router and they mybe interupting my transmission from my ds. :wigout:By the way the ds was used bofore I bought it. I tried to access the routers set up and security threw a pc that we use but it won't load. It could be that my dad or sister changed the user name and access code. The pc are wireless and were connected without security. Should I reset the router and try to access th routers set up menu ? I need a respones asap. If not I'll do it anyways. and diable mac filtering, security, and allow more ports to run.

Error Code: 51300-5139

Our experience has shown that this error message is typically caused by WEP Key issues. Please read the following information:

# Check Nintendo?s router info for special notes, if available, for your router.
1. Click here to go to our Wireless Router Configuration page.
2. Use the drop-down box on the left to select, if available, your router manufacturer.
3. Click on your router's model number, if available.
4. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

# Are you using WEP security on your router?
1. Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
2. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
3. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
4. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (1-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters).
5. Verify they are using the WEP Key in the first (#1) slot. Even though their router may have multiple slots, the Nintendo DS is only compatible with the WEP Key in slot #1.

# Check to see if your router is using MAC filtering.
1. Log into the router using the default IP.
2. Find the section for MAC Filtering (typically under "Security").
3. If MAC Filtering is on ("enabled"), enter the Nintendo DS?s MAC address to the list of approved MAC address. For info on locating the DS?s MAC address, click here. (For assistance with locating the MAC Filtering section of your router?s setup tool, please consult the router?s manual or contact the manufacturer.)
Also, try setting the router's basic rate to 1-2 mbps. That was the problem I had when setting up my DS to go online through my router.
