Info: (may contain spoilers from the first and second SAW movies)
Ah, yes. I've been waiting for this movie for about a year now. The SAW movies are very high up on my list of best movies and it's definitely the number one horror flick around in my opinion. The plot twists at the end of each movie is what makes it all worth while for me, not that the entire movie isn't short of amazing either.

Dina Meyer (Dizzy from Starship Troopers) is making an appearance once again (am I the only one who even noticed she was in the first and second one?) and so is Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith.

I honestly cannot wait. Five days is too long! My excitement from SAW III has kind of passed as of late because of the Wii and Vanguard coming up but now that it's near halloween, and the premier is only 5 days away I once again am wiggling in my bed with anticipation.

Trivia: Did you know that Saw I and II were directed by two different people? Saw III was directed by the same person who directed number 2.

The director thing makes sense... the person who did the sequal is the third one. sometimes people just don't want to make sequals..

personally, saw is one of the few things that can still make me squirm. they always end up doing it with something you absolutly hate/fear(like the needles), i love it.

Very interesting, choice of music and traps, warning: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
Traps

Twisting Crucfix -
The victim's head, arms, and legs are attached to a metal machine in the shape of a cross as the victim screams in terror. Each end is able to twist 360 degrees, taking the victims head, arms, and legs along for the ride by spinning him around.

Ice Shower -
Danica is shown hanging by her arms in a room where two identical vertical poles spray her naked body with cold water as she screams and attempts to regulate her breathing. Jeff is standing in a doorway near her with a rather frightened expression and looking off in the distance. More than likely, this is one of the women associated with Jeff's son's death, and Jeff has the choice to save her or let her freeze to death.

Body Chains -
This trap features Troy, who finds himself in an empty, forgotten school classroom. As the television screen turns on, Jigsaw's puppet, Billy, is shown. Billy reveals that Troy had been in and out of prisons for quite some time and if he wishes to live, he must break free of the chains before the timer stops. If time runs out, a bomb in the room will detonate. The chains are hooked through his skin in various places, including his lower jaw, shoulders, arms, hands, legs and Achilles tendons. When the television screen turns off, he painfully pulls the chain rings through his skin, but does not manage to remove some chains, including the one on his lower jaw, before time runs out

Intestines Pool -
upon entering a room Jeff hears the voice of a man screaming for help. As he searches around for the man, a large silo in the middle of the room begins to emit a loud, pulsating buzz. Jeff climbs up a ladder to see a man attached to the bottom of the silo by a metal brace holding his neck. As he screams for help, Jeff plays a tape. Jigsaws voice tells him that when the Judge presiding over his son's murder trial sentenced the murderer so lightly, his soul never recovered. He now has the power to sentence the man's soul straight to hell, or he can choose to forgive. As the tape player ends, a series of large, interlocking saws up above the man begin to whirl and buzz. Hanging from a conveyor like bar comes out a dead, rotten pig filled with maggots. The pig is dropped onto the saw blade and ground up, with a viscous thick gray liquid hitting the Judge in the face and choking him

Unknown Traps

Kerry is hanging from the ceiling in something that looks like a leather belt strapped around her body and neck, attached to several chains hanging from the ceiling. Hanging next to her is a jar containing an unknown green liquid. In her video it says "You have one minute to find a way out", it also says in the new trailer "the device you are wearing is hooked into your ribcage" then it cuts off there, and then it shows her screaming.

Lynn is screaming for help while tied to a chair and she seems to have removed her cloth gag. She is shown with a harness-like trap on, with what looks like shotgun shells pointing towards her neck. These shotgun shells appear to be hooked up to something, possibly Jigsaw's heart monitor, so that they should shoot if Jigsaw should die.

Jeff is sitting in a small box, banging and kicking and screaming, "Let me out!" A small amount of light seeps through the cracks. This may be where he wakes up after being kidnapped by Jigsaw.
SAW is hands down one of the coolest horror flicks I?ve ever seen. The plot twist are always surprising and its pretty freaking hard to figure out the truth?.even though the guy is telling you. I wonder what's gonna happen on this third. I know nothing about it I haven?t been able to see a trailer or anything. All I saw before I left was a poster. So I cant wait for the bootleg to get over here.

Whoo! I saw it!

I'm not going to say a whole lot since I'm assuming nobody has really seen it yet. Honestly, though? I like this one the most of all three. It really was the perfect finale to a trilogy (I'm assuming it's a trilogy, anyway).

If you were worried about it not living up to the first and second one, it definitely does.

I went to see this movie a few nights ago and while it was all pretty expected, I actually don't think it was the best movie in the series. But I think that's largely because I analyze the movies too much - Jigsaw's entire justification is ridiculous and I felt that the ending of Saw III really left something to be desired.

It was definitely the most gruesome movie of the three, but I don't know if that's a good thing. It was all gore, no horror. I know some people are frightened by gore, but I was mostly just thinking this movie was equivalent to one of those TV shows that display operations - in other words, it was gross, but not frightening. The first and second movies were a bit more horrific in my opinion...probably because Jigsaw himself was more of a mystery and the core motivation made a bit more sense. In Saw III it ended up becoming very convoluted, to the point where it almost seems pointless.

I suppose for pure gore value (and seeing the inventiveness behind the various torture devices), it was interesting. But it's all very predictable - moreso, I thought, than the prior movies.

Then again, I've never been a huge fan of the Saw films, so I suppose my comments should be taken with a grain of salt by the hardcore fans. :catgirl:

Edit:
The "intestines pool" was one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen on film, lol. Although I also thought it was a kind of clever trap.
And to correct an earlier comment about the room with chains,
the victim actually did take all the chains off, I think. The bomb blew up anyway. One of the whole points of the film was that Amanda (I forget her name, I think that was it) isn't like Jigsaw - she's not teaching a lesson and providing a chance to escape, she's simply murdering people.

I saw the movie last night, and it is spectacular. I still favor the first one though.
I wonder what will happen to Jeff's (I think that's his name) daughter.

Did anyone else think it was ironic that Jigsaw's skull was cut open by a jigsaw?

Well, he didn't take the one off of his mouth/jaw, which is why he died. The whole Amanda not letting him live thing was the favt that the only door in the room was welded shut.

Actually I thought the whole first three traps that Jeff had to do was really neat. In the first Ice Shower one, he's "running away" from the witness who ran away from the scene of the crime. He was "judging" the judge, deciding whether or not to free him. And the twisting crucifix has still got me stumped.

Oh yeah, that's right. I remember Jigsaw saying that she didn't even give him a chance - Jigsaw's traps might be deadly but technically there's always a way out. His justification/logic is another issue though! Haha.

I also agree with you about Jeff. It does present an interesting question - if faced with the people who were involved with a family member's death, what would you do? I'm sure for most of us it wouldn't be an easy question. I like that Saw III at least goes into some depth on that point and it raises a legitimate question (especially considering that so many people seem to favour "eye for an eye" punishment).

I thought it was a kinda meh film =/

Definitely the most gory. I think what made me feel the most squeamish was
the detective from Saw II smashing his ankle up
. I could never bring myself to do that lol.

I thought the twist(s) were way too obvious and felt very forced too, almost. But I dont think there's many other ways they could've took it. The ending also felt like 15 minutes extra long.
Is Jeff the new Jigsaw? Because after Jigsaw dies, he says he wants to play a new game. And he has Jeff's daughter hidden somewhere. Also I heard Saw was going to be made into a continuing franchise so yeah, imo it would make sense for him to 'live for revenge' as the new Jigsaw.
What White said about the 3 traps sounds pretty smart too lol.
But I heart Saw 2 & 1 still.

Nah, the whole new game thing was just a way to say "haha, you're an idiot" and to give the audience even more reason to laugh at Jeff and his stupidity. If Jeff played off of vengeance then it wouldn't be Saw. It would be what happened with Amanda and that's not cool, lol.

I also recall hearing Tobin Bell (Jigsaw) saying Saw was a trilogy somewhere.
:)

I don't know. I was taken to Saw III with a bunch of my sister's college friends last weekend. For me, it was nothing amazing. I never had a very high opinion for the Saw movies anyway. Though I didn't see the first one, the second was so cheesey that I couldn't help but laugh throughout the film.
Saw III was, however, better than the second one in my opinion. Yet, it was far more predictable than the second one as well.
That one part where Amanda took out the knife to cut her thigh,
I honestly thought she was raising it up to stab her gina. I was SO glad she didn't. That would have been the only part to make me cringe. Haha.

Well, anyway. They bought me peanut butter cups for going with them, so I was happy.

As far as the movie goes, though... it was okay. It wasn't a waste of time, but it wasn't something I'd go to the trouble of seeing again.
