Pokemon: Legacies

PROLOGUE

As the moon falls upon the mountains, Giovanni schemes. He has waited many years, and he could easily wait even longer. Team Rocket is slowly getting a holding the corruptive side of the government. Soon, the whole world will be in his grasp; and he would not need to lift a finger.

The project was almost ready. Just a little bit longer, and all of the pieces of the puzzle would fall into place.

That was twenty three years ago.

[Pallet Town Theme]

The traffic of Pallet Town was as busy as it always was, or at least that?s the way Matt would see it. Kids would wake up all gloomy about school, while their parents would wake even gloomier about work. The clock tower would ring, and the kids would go off to school. Some of them would find an excuse not to go; they?d barely find a way to prevail. The streets would then be as busy as a hive, with cars beeping and dogs barking, with the occasional cat?s meow eventually making its way on top of the commotion. Once the final school bell rang, however, the town became much more peaceful. Frightenley so on some occasions.

It was nine thirty. Matt was already dressed in the same way he dressed since he was a kid: hooded sweatshirt with jeans and sneakers. Nothing too extravagant, unlike half the teenage population who insisted on dressing as if prom was within the hour?not that Matt went to the prom to begin with.

The teen fumbled a glove on as he went outside. It was fall, and he was smart enough not to get frostbite in the forty degree morning just because he was in a rush. Flipping his hood on the moment a blistering cold wind slapped itself into his face, he was ready for anything.

Only a couple of people were on the streets. Most were smart enough to stay inside. Matt never did consider himself one of the more smarter people of the small town ? nor was he the most social. He lived his life alone, and he planned to die that way. He didn?t like company.

With the exception of one man?

?Ah Matthew! So good to see you!? Professor Oak was just leaving one of the book stores when Matt was convenient enough to cross the street. ?I?m surprised to see you in this cold weather.? Matt just shrugged. ?Too cold for words, I know. Lets get to my house?I actually wanted to ask you a favor.?

A favor? Uh oh ? that can only mean trouble.

They got to Professor Oak?s house in a few minutes. Matt was a quick walker to begin with, but with the threat of cold winds itching behind, the two moved all the faster.

?Matt, tell me, what do you know of Lance??

?Of Elite Four??

?Yes.?

?Absolutely nothing. Why would I know anything about him??

?Well, its not like curiosity killed the mewoth??

?Cat.?

Oak chuckled. ?Well, I got an interesting call a couple of weeks ago. He was going on on how there seems that Pokemon trainers nowadays are such immoral people, seeing them as tools, weapons even. No thanks to that horrible Gizdotsuo War.?

?What exactly is this about Professor?? Matt was getting impatient.

Of course, the Professor was expecting this.

?I?ll tell when a few more people I invited will come down.?

Matt rolled his eyes. He hated waiting for people. At least there wasn?t ?

?Matt, do you want some coffee??

Oh god?

In Viridian City Ronyo kept manly to the forest near by. Watching the pokemon move and live there normal lives. On one of Ronyo?s few trips back to his home he was greeted by his always unpleasant postman. The unpleasant attitude was manly just at Ronyo, since he didn?t come home for so long he normally let his mail pile up. Ronyo was greeted with a grunting smile and handed his new mail. Ronyo just waved and smiled as the postman walked off and Ronyo began shifting through his mail. He came across a letter addressed by Professor Oak. Ronyo was so shocked he dropped the rest of his mail and just stared at the letter. He began to rip open the envelope as a gust of wind came by and sent his dropped mail sailing. As Ronyo began reading his letter his postman was standing with a dumbfounded look as he watched Ronyo?s mail just glide across the wind. The postman just gave a sigh and a grumble and walked away.

Dear soon to be Pokemon trainer,
I would like to invite you to my home in Pallet tow for a meeting with a few other pokemon enthusiasts like yourself. I have been given a interesting proposition and believe you fit the idea for it. I find it so wonderful when I get to help new trainers on their journeys, and see them begin a journey that will make wonderful memories for future generations. Oh my, I seem to be beating a dead Ponyta. I will simple end with I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely
Prof. Oak

Ronyo couldn?t believe it. Professor Oak himself was inviting him for a meeting with other would be trainers. Ronyo ran into his house and gathered up the things he might need on his new journey. Ronyo also made sure to grab his old long brown leather coat, since the weather seemed to be getting gloomy outside.

So here Ronyo now stands, on the edge of the outlining forest that surrounds the majority of Pallet Town. Ronyo took a deep breath and began walking towards Oak?s house.

Azure stretched as the dim light of the dreary day beamed in through her window and sighed. Hearing the loud and rapid footsteps through the house she only guessed that her brothers were awake and reeking havoc on her parents. She got up and dressed in her normal outfit of jeans and a grey shirt. Grabbing her vest and a jacket she slipped on the vest and snatched her gloves from her dresser. She took a quick look in the mirror and ran a brush through her deep wine colored hair.

She began to hop down the stairs briskly, slipping on her gloves as she dropped to the lower steps. Reaching the bottom landing she flattened her self against the wall as her brothers ran by. She smiled and shook her head; heading for the kitchen she looked into the living room of her home to see her mom looking at the morning?s mail.
"Anything good mom?"
"Azure, you should be in school."
"To cold, so what's the news for the world today?"
"You have a letter from the Professor."
"Why didn't he just walk over and give it to me him self? We live like what, 8 houses away from him?"
"Azure, he's a busy man, you know that."
"Yeah."

She took the letter and read it over as she retraced her steps back towards the kitchen where she grabbed a piece of bacon and ate while he read.
"He wants me to head over there here shortly. Odd, I wonder what's up."
Looking down she gave the last bite of her bacon to the family Growlithe and patted its head gently.
"I was going to go over to his lab and see if they had any new stuff this afternoon but I suppose I could just go to his house and see what the deal is."
"You will not, you bother him enough."
"Mom, you have to learn to relax."
"And you need to begin to act your own age. An 18 year old girl shouldn't be dreaming about Pokemon and going off with old men to talk about them either, you should be in school, studying."
"Yeah, keep telling your self that Ma. You'll get to me sooner or later."

She gave her father a quick kiss, slipped into her boots and as she perched her shades on top of her head and flung open the back door and was gone. She looked at her feet as the snow crunched under her weight and began to kick some up as she walked. Humming to herself she stopped and blinked as she saw many other sets of footprints heading for the Professors house.
"What is that old man doing?"

She reached the house and knocked, hearing the Professors voice she took a deep breath and let it out as the door was opened in front of her. She could feel the warm heat from inside and the smell of coffee greeted her as well. She blinked as she realized she couldn't feel her nose.

Professor, I got your letter."
"Azure, of course! I almost forgot that I had sent you an invitation as well as the others."
"Others what is going on Professor?"
"You will know eventually, but until then come in and get warm. I assume you know Matt."
"Nope, never talked to him in my life."

The professor looked somewhat shocked and handed her a cup of coffee as she took a seat by the warm fire place in the back on the room.
"How odd, two young people living in the same town and have never talked to each other. That is strange."

Azure looked up from her mug and laughed.
"It's nothing personal Oak just that, he's to serious for my taste so I just leave him alone. After all the leading cause of death these days is stroke cause by stress."
She chuckled and then stifled it as she looked at Matt who was looking at her like most of the people in Pallet did, 'Town Idiot'.

"So I guess you got a letter from Professor Oak as well?" Demetri said to the young girl, exposing himself from a corner in the far end of the room, eyes closed while he spoke.

Azure looked in the direction of Demetri but before she could say anything, Demetri kept speaking - more in general now than to the newcomer. "I guess there's more coming then too, I assume?" Demetri reassumed his resting position on the corner.

"Yes Demetri," Professor Oak said, biting at Demetri's question. "Lot's more trainers are coming, and each of you will map out your own destinies after you leave this place tonight."

the three members - Azure, Demetri, and Matt - looked at the Professor with semi-wide eyes.

"Do you mean... a... Po-"

"You'll find out soon enough Demetri." Professor Oak said, cutting him off with a smirk. "Just you wait."

With that said, Demetri reached in his right cargo pants pocket and pulled out the neatly folded envelope that he received from Professor Oak yesterday. It was no surprise that his family nearly tore the envelope to shreads trying to open the letter and reveal it's contents. They were all big fans of the Professor and a letter from him almost made half of them lapse into a immediate coma. Demetri chucked to himself as he thought back to when his family practically kicked him out of the home to go and see the Professor in an attempt to do his bidding. Demetri was told by his mother and father to walk to Pallet Town and not to come back until his mission was complete.

Demetri was eager to see what the professor had up his sleeve; a smile crept on his lips like a tiger about to feed.

?Did you hear?? a teenage girl asked her friend, stirring some cream into a cup of coffee she held tightly in her hands. The two of them sat by one of the windows of the Pokémon Center, waiting for some others to come and join them before the group set off into the cold morning.

?Hear what?? the friend asked, fiddling with his long bangs.

?That girl is coming through town today,? she responded simply before taking a sip of her warm drink. Her friend raised an eyebrow, clearly confused.

?What girl? There are probably lots of girls coming through town today. Unless she?s headed towards Pallet, then that might be unusual?? the boy reasoned with himself.

It was common practice of the Pallet Town and Viridian City natives to mention how uncommon travelers were going to Pallet. The exception, of course, is during the particular time when the most new trainers of the Kanto region pour through the doors of Professor Oak?s laboratory than he will see in the following months combined.

?You know who I?m talking about. That girl. The one calling herself something weird, like ?Turbine? or something, instead of going by her real name. She?s the one from Lavender Town that?? Oh my God, look! I think that's her!? the girl cried in a surprised whisper, pointing out the foggy window. The boy whipped his head around in a hurry, excited to see the visitor, and was startled to see a young girl wearing only tight summer clothing, despite the temperature outside. She was wearing a scarf, but the two wondered why bother with a scarf if she wasn?t going to put on any other warm clothes.

As the girl walked by, her eyes passed over the two teens in the Pokémon Center as they watched her curiously. The look in her eyes was their confirmation, and it sent shivers down their spines as they looked away uneasily. She continued walking past, unfazed by their reactions.

?Why the hell am I doing this?? she mumbled to herself. She was soon out of Viridian City and walking through the tall grass of Route 2 towards Pallet Town. She found it humorous that wild pokémon always seemed more attracted towards her than most people she encountered. Several Pidgey and Rattata followed at her heels until she shooed them away.

?What weird things,? she thought to herself about her followers. She never did have a close connection with pokémon before, and her desire for one had lessened even further recently. She was baffled as to why she even bothered traveling all this way just to see Professor Oak. She told herself she did it because she was bored, but something else made her decide to come. The buildings of Pallet Town came into view, and soon she reached the pathway into town.

?I hope this wasn?t a waste of time,? she sighed, fiddling with her scarf as she took a few more steps before she paused one more time to stop one of the Pidgey from coming with her.

Ronyo had made his way into Pallet town and was enjoying looking around. He really hadn?t seen any of the other cities in recent years. Ronyo sighed and by doing so made a puff of warm air come out of his mouth. The sigh was manly just to make that happen.

?Simple minds I guess.? this time Ronyo?s sigh had purpose

The man from Viridian City could see several tracks in the snow leading to a house. Ronyo really didn?t need any further clues to which house was Oak?s. Ronyo gave three knocks on the door and could hear people talking. The door opened and let a warm waft of air out into Ronyo. The waft was nice and filled with the smell of coffee. Oak stood at the door in his lab coat and welcomed him in.

?Hello Professor Oak, I received a letter asking me to?? Ronyo was cut off by Oak.

?Yes yes, I know what your going to say. If we have to hear everyone ask me why there here, then this day is going to take a lot longer then I thought. Please help yourself to some coffee and introduce yourself to the others.?

Ronyo smiled and nodded. He looked around the room and could see only three other at the moment. A young lady with a big smile, and two guys. Both looked young, but most likely not to far from Ronyo. One was in a hooded sweatshirt and the others most notable trait was his goggles. The lady walked up to Ronyo to introduce herself.

?Hi, my names Azure. I heard your name was Ronyo??

?Yes that?s correct.?

?Never seen you around town. Where are you from??

?Oh I?m from Viridian, although I guess its not odd to get people from Viridian here.?

?Not really, it seems most of the trainers who come here are from Viridian,? The guy with the goggles walked over, ?Names Demetri, and the guy in the hoody over there is Matt.?

Ronyo shook Demetri?s hand, and gave a wave to Matt which was returned.

?So, how long until Oak gives up the reason for summoning us all here?? Ronyo asked while he sipped his coffee.

?Whenever everyone gets here. I suggest you get comfortable, this could take awhile,? Azure said with a smile.

"Well," Aesera said as she and her older sister Katrina approached Professor Oak's labratory. "I guess this is it."

"There's no reason to be nervous," Katrina replied. "I mean, you do know what this is about, I assume."

"I'm not nervous," Aesera said. "I simply don't know what this is actually going to be like. And yes, I have figured out what this is about, not that it was hard to do so. Of course, you and I happen to know Oak, though not quite as well as Ro does, which gives us something of an advantage. And then there's the fact that Ro seems to know what Oak's up to and has been dropping hints."

Aesera was referring to her older brother, Rorohiko, a researcher who'd already made something of a name for himself. Rorohiko and Oak were good friends, and Oak also knew Katrina, a very skilled trainer who had won the Pokemon Leauge tournament twice, though not consecutively. Oak also knew their parents, as well as their father David's sister, her husband, and their children. Aesera had been the last member of the family to meat Oak, but she had met the man eventually.

Aesera was the youngest of three children. Katrina and Rorohiko had already made themselves known to the world, and now it was going to be Aesera's turn. She didn't know if she'd make as big a name for herself as her siblings had, or her parents, or her aunt, uncle, or cousins. But Aesera didn't care about fame. She wanted to be a trainer because se knew she'd enjoy it.

"Yeah, Rorohiko did help make it obvious," Katrina agreed. "And he hinted to me that he made sure that Oak has a certain specific Pokemon for you."

Aesera shook her head. "Man, that guy's obsesed. I always thought he'd settle down a bit after he found his answers, but no. But I guess I like him just fine the way he is, and it just wouldn't be like him to settle down. Besides, I happen to like that Pokemon, though not to the same extent as Ro."

"Yeah, me too," Katrina replied. "Well, it looks like we're here."

Aesera nodded. "Yeah. I guess you'll be going now. Thanks for giving me a ride to Pallet Town. Walking from Vermillion would have sucked."

Katrina chuckled. "Yeah, my Charizard's good for that. And I was going to come here to Kanto anyways. It was just a matter of meeting you in Lilycove before the ship left, and then putting you on Charizard with me. I'd have come to this area anyways, so it was no big deal."

"Well, thanks anyways," Aesera said. "'Bye, katrina. I'll see you... well, sometime."

"Yeah. 'Bye." And with that, katrina released her Charizard and climbed on its back. Aesera watched it fly off, then turned to face Oak's house. It had been quite a journey, as Pallet wasn't exactly close to Aesera's hometown of Lilycove. Still, traveling was no problem. Besides, it didn't matter to Aesera which region she trained in. Kanto was just as good as Hoenn, and since Professer Oak had wanted her to come, she's come.

Aesera entered Oak's home, found a place to sit, and got comfortable as she waited for anyone else who was coming to arrive.

OOC: I hope that's good, Doublehex. Tell me if I need to change anything.

10 Minutes Prior to Professor Oak leaving his lab to find the other trainers-in-the-making...

"Miku come in out of the cold, you aren't supposed to be tending to the gardens today!" the world renowned Pokemon Professor called out to Miku, who was currently elbow-deep in Muk leftovers.
"Don't worry about me Professor! The cold weather is just mother nature's way of saying she needs our help to keep her warm," she replied, still working away at the turquoise roses.
"By the way, I'd like you to attend a small gathering inside the lab later on this morning!"
When Miku didn't respond, Prof. Oak simply rolled his eyes and went back into his lab, leaving her with a half-arsed "I'll be back later then!" before going out to find someone he had sent for earlier.
"Okay," she murmured between large whiffs of her handiwork - smelling the Muk leftovers was the best, or in Miku's case, only way of testing whether or not roses had been tended to properly.
The mid-teenage hippie decided this particular section of the garden had been tended too quite sufficiently, moving on to other areas.

As Professor Oak and Matt enter the lab...

"Cheriii~!" came a soft cry from beneath the main back windows of the lab.
Miku looked around for the noise, locating its source after a few painstaking seconds.
"Cheriii!"
Climbing up out of her waist deep planting-hole in the center of the Bug-Pokemon grounds, Miku dusted herself off and squeezed through the thick overgrowth of the mini-forest, brushing aside the occasional Caterpie or Spinarak.
"Cheriii~!"
"I'm on my way, I'll be there soon, don't worry" she said in a soothing tone, smiling to herself.
The cries faded as Miku came closer to the windowsill.
The source of the cries stared up at the short girl as though she were bigger than a Wailord. It's warm pink skin and juvenille leaves giving off the scent of fresh spring cherryblossoms.
"Hello there little one," she said, kneeling down to pet the Cherinbo, untangling its small leaves from the thorns of a nearby bramble. "Brambles are mother nature's way of telling you not to tread her domain as though you own it, because one cannot own a free being."
The tiny Pokemon just continued to stare up at the girl, tilted its entire body to the side as if saying "What have you been smoking?" and skittered away to the shade of nearby trees.

As Miku's eyes scanned the area for more plants to tend to, she heard a multitude of voices coming from inside the lab.
No doubt Matt will be inside, Oak always had his eye on him...but there are more voices than just those two, and it sounds like there are some girls inside too, she thought, then added unless they are just girly-sounding boys... as an afterthought.
She walked over to a nearby puddle, conveniently positionned exactly five feet from the door, checking her appearance should anything be stuck in her long yet seemingly clean bangs.
Having waist-length dreadlocks was a full-time job.
Getting up, she dusted herself lazily for what seemed like the 100th time that morning, and pushed open the door.
"Hi Matt," she said cheerily upon entering, then "And who are these people?"
The Professor laughed nervously and was about to introduce everyone when Aesera interrupted him, introducing herself.
"I'm Aesera, from Lilycove in Hoenn."
The others soon followed suit, and going around the table they were sitting at in an anti-clockwise fashion Ronyo, Azhure and Demetri introduced themselves. Miku recieved a simple not from Matt, at which she replied with a small smirk.

No sooner had Miku sat down when a girl in summer dress walked through the front door, trailing a line of Pidgey and Rattata behind her, whom she slammed the door shut on.
Wow, what a b****...

For the most part getting off the island for once in awhile was good fun. The tourists at Cinnibar Island only really came to see the volcano, or they weren't even tourists at all. Sergei considered himself lucky, most of the time, to live in such a cool place. But that meant he didn't go anywhere interesting except off the island. Not to mention the family business of selling gifts to people got boring, even though it meant they were well off. Now things were about to change.

After recieving a letter from Professor Oak himself Sergei was more than eager to get to Pallet Town. Unfortunately, he had no means of transport and he became worried when the thought of walking across half of Kanto to get to Pallet Town would be his final option. No ferry was leaving the island until a few days, he'd most certainly be late. Sergei sighed, running a hand through his thick red hair before resting his chin on his knees in front of the shore.

To be honest, Sergei should've been out there already. He had two brothers and a sister, all of which had Pokemon. His sister worked in the family shop, she wasn't a Pokemon trainer, but she did have a very cute Vulpix she caught right on the island. His other brother was out there in the world, he left at least two years ago taking with him a powerful Magmar he managed to train with his father. The eldest brother, Sybrus, was the first to leave with a Growlithe. Sybrus came back every year to visit, he was back now in fact, but he wasn't a fire trainer anymore, he gave his Growlithe to his other brother and became a water trainer.

...Sergei wanted to be a Pokemon trainer. He was curious to know what Professor Oak had in store for him, and maybe other people. It was rumoured Professor Oak did give out Pokemon... perhaps the rumours were true. Sergei wouldn't know unless he could get there.

"Hey," a light, smoothing voice said from behind. Sergei looked around quickly seeing a lean, rather tall man with dark crimson hair tied back neatly behind him and a warm smile on his face. Well, speak of the devil, it was Sybrus.

"Hey." Sergei replied gloomily.

"Shouldn't you be in Pallet Town? You better get started, or you'll be late." Sybrus said.

"Well I bloody would get started, but I can't actually get there! All the tourist you get there, you'd think they'd have more Ferry's going back and forth..."

Sybrus sat down next to his brother, scratching his chin. He didn't think of that. Even though he was a pretty accomplished trainer, Sybrus wasn't the brightest of them all. Well, he was quite smart, just a little slow.

"Well, you know, I could give you a lift."

"All the way to Pallet town?" Sergei rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"It's only across the sea, straight a head. Not too far." Sybrus smiled, taking out a Pokeball and staring at it. "You and the rest of the family might be disappointed that I decided to pick up Water Pokemon instead of the Fire type, but they come in handy when you need to cross the sea."

A rather broad grin spread across Sergei's face. He looked at his older brother, a little too childish for a teenager of his age, and hoped he wasn't joking.

"Go get your stuff Sergei. Blastoise can take us across the water no problem."

Okay, now Sergei definitely enjoyed water Pokemon. He couldn't believe his brother actually gave him a lift. Granted it took awhile, they had to leave the next day at 4am to get to Pallet in time. It was incredible! Sergei thought maybe his other siblings were a little misguiding in thinking Sybrus' choice in water Pokemon was weak. If it weren't for Sybrus, Sergei wouldn't even be in Pallet town.

It was quite cold, even his leather jacket wasn't doing the trick in keeping him warm. Still, he travelled on, taking a look at his surroudings. Definitely nothing like his Island. Colder, as well. Sergei frowned and looked around for any signs of a lab, or anything that remotely looked like on. He spotted one further ahead, and someone else walking into the door. He wasn't sure who, whether they were a boy, a girl or even if they were a child; he was too far away. Raising on eyebrow, Sergei walked towards the lab... if it was a lab, that is.

He paused when he was a few steps away from the door. He wasn't sure what the expect, he wasn't even sure if he should be here. If this was going to waste his time, maybe it was a bad idea. Besides, Sergei had aboslutely no idea how he was going to get back home. Maybe he should have thought of that, as well.

Drawing aquick breath, he opened the door quickly and stepped in.

After Miku’s brief introductions to the other teens around the table, Oak continued to make minor chit-chat, frequently beating around questions about the purpose of the trip and what was to happen next. His somewhat wrinkled brow furrowed at the sound of talking outside his door. A male definitely. The deep, yet childish voice nattered on with an occasional grunt from a second male.

“I’m telling you we should have left later, I severely doubt Oak’s even up yet.” Came the loud and childish tone, this time more clear to the group.

Oak immediately headed for the door and opened it just as a fist was about to knock it. As expected there were two dark haired males standing outside, definitely brothers from their features but the difference in their overall body language was incredible.

“Hey Oaky! Long time no see.” Came the somewhat rude greeting of one Andrew Armstrong. Oak frowned and was just about to speak before he was cut off.

“Whoah, you didn’t tell me there were going to be so many beautiful young women here Professor!” Andrew spoke loudly, with an obvious hint of smouldering sleaze in his eye.

The other male, Nathan, rolled his eyes and approached an empty seat. The rest of the group either eyed him with a puzzled look or looked somewhat disgusted. The lack of a response from anyone made Andrew sigh loudly.

“Aww, I normally get lots of attention when I do that…” He said returning to his childish tone whilst dropping his shoulders.

“Yes, indeed. Everyone this is AJ and Nate,”, Oak declared, hinting at Andrew and Nathan respectively when he spoke their names before continuing “Now could you sit down so we can wait for the others please, young Armstrong?”

Andrew defiantly crossed his arms and skulked over the empty seat next to his brother whilst mumbling something incoherently. It didn’t help that his brother was already enjoying a quiet conversation with one of the females around the table. Andrew just sighed again and slumped further into his chair.

Just then another knock came at the door before Oak let in a red-haired teen.

Demetri Shayne, from his spot on the corner of the wall furthest from the door, looked as other trainers came through one by one via Professor Oak's letter.

Miku was the first one inside, looking as if she had wrestled with a Muk and won, looking at the four - Azure, Matt, Demetri, and Professor Oak - before introducing herself.

After immediately introducing herself, a strange woman walked in who was dressed very heavily for the outdoors. She exemplified confidence and she made sure everyone in the home knew it after slamming the door on a couple of Pokemon behind her. Miku referred to the woman as something but Demetri's mind had trailed off. He never got the woman's name.

Next was Ronyo, arriving through the door in his black cargo pants and red crimson undershirt. Stubble was also apparant on his chin as well. He seemed nice enough when he walked through the door, Demetri walking towards him and shaking his hand.

After Ronyo, another girl came in and quickly sat down without saying a word. She was a very nice looking woman and it was apparent from her build that she could run to any town that she wanted to without fatigue.

'Look's like everyone's rounding up.' Demetri thought, a smirk reforming on his lips from the reoccuring thoughts of Professor Oak's upcoming surprise. In the moment Demetri was thinking, two young men - Andrew and Nathan - walked through the door, introduced by Professor Oak.

Finally, Sergei walked in with the assistance of Matt opening the door; he was a bit soaked all over, looking at everyone as he closed the door, allowing himself to be rejuvenated by the heat. It looked as if he had swam to Pallet Town from first glance but Demetri knew that feats such as those - swimming from a far away island to Pallet was near-impossible. Demetri closed his eyes once again seeing the group amass as the minutes ticked away.

Azure bounced around the room introducing her self as much as possible, sometimes even doing so twice to some of the people she had already met. Her wide and friendly smile stayed in place as they began to enter more quickly. She took a deep breath and went to get another cup of coffee and noticed that there was none left.
"Professor! I'm going to go make some home made Hot chocolate in the kitchen! Is that okay?"
The professor was opening the door yet and again and waved her off with a nod.

Bouncing into the kitchen in her normal jaunty kind of walk she bent down looking into the fridge and pulled out a half gallon of milk and proceeded to pour it into a large sauce pan and turn the heat on low. she reached under the counter and pulled out a bag of chocolate bars and smiled wide as she put 4 bars of the rich chocolate into the milk and began to stir it quickly blending the milk and melting chocolate together, she looked up to see the semi wide eyes of Dimitri watching as she tasted it and added yet one more chocolate bar.

"It has to be smooth, otherwise it'll just taste like warm milk and it's not very good that way."
She giggled and went back to stirring the mixture, seeing it steam and seeing it thicken and become smooth she took the hot cocoa off the stove and poured it into mugs, Dimitri noticed that she poured one for every person that was in the house at the moment and more then enough for whoever decided to show up.

She walked briskly past him putting a warm mug into his hand and continued to do so with all the others, including Matt who just looked at the mug and set it aside. Looking up at Azure he arched an eye brow as she smiled and giggled and went back to her seat sipping her own mug of the semi sweet drink. She was in a blissfully unaware state that everyone was shocked at her sudden appearance with the warm drink to care. She took a long sip and closed her eyes smiling as the warm liquid went down smooth and warm.

"Perfect! As always!"
Looking around she saw that no one was drinking from their mugs.
"I didn't poison it, I promise."
She smiled as Ronyo took a sip and sighed in appreciation.
"See? It's good right?"
He nodded and continued to drink it as everyone began to as well. She smiled wide and went back to her own, retreating back into her own little world.

Matt rolled off the sleeve of his sweatshirt so he could take a look at the time. The digital clock read eleven forty three. After nearly a few hours of waiting in the Professor?s house just so he could be told something, it was needless to say that he was getting aggravated. It was certainly tempting on more than a few occasions to just leave the house, but a feeling in his gut told him something big was happening; bigger than all the times some random punk would sneak into Oak?s laboratory to steal a pokemon; perhaps even bigger than the time his grandson Gary disappeared over the sea while traveling to a university to study.

Just wait a little longer, he would tell himself. It will be worth it; it?s going to be really worth my time.

Matt?s eyes darted around the room, observing all of the newcomers. Nearly a dozen people, Matt included, have gathered in Oak?s living room, at least a couple of people per couch. Matt was smart enough that when the first guest came to grab an arm chair instead of a couch. Now, some of them were getting aggravated for being constantly touched by touched by somebody, intentional or not. Mat licked his lips in sweet victory.

Professor Oak stared at his watch. ?Looks like some of them are running behind?? Suddenly, the doorbell rang. ?Matt, go get that, will you??

?Perfect?, Matt complained to himself. He got up with no quarrels, though, and opened the door for the newest guest. He had a large coat over his plain white shirt. His brown hair was raggedly and not exactly well kept, although Matt was not one to care about one?s looks. The man?s tanned skins gave a sense that he was somewhere far off.

?Hey, is this ??

?You got a letter, right??

?Uh, yeah??

?Then come in.? He opened the door wider so that the man knew he was invited, and returned to his seat without another word.

?Sergei, good to see you?, the elder researcher smiled warmly as he shook the teen?s hand. ?Take a seat. Everyone is almost here!?

?Everyone? You mean there is more??

Oak?s answer was him pushing the bewildered islander into a couch, right on top of an unfortunate Mika. ?Uh hey?? he mumbled before the tree hugger kicked him off.

Matt slipped a smile?if only for a moment.

"I'm late!" Ashin mumbled angrily as she was running into Pallet Town. "I knew I should have left sooner." The long journey from Pewter City had not been fun at all. "Atleast I'm warm." she sighed as she stopped running and began a brisk walk. She had on a blue T-shirt, light jeans, brown eskimo boots, a heavy cream jacket, and a black scarf. "There it is." She said as she approached the address on the letter. Her mom had been thrilled by the news. She was following in her father's footsteps. She had always been more like him anyways. Her mom packed her backpack full of all the items she would ever need, even though she was only going to Pallet Town.

"It's dangerous in Viridian Forest and you need to be prepared." her mother reminded her before she left. It was true, which contributed to why she was late. A weedle had decided to stand in her way and be a nusaince.

As she walked up to the door, she heard alot of voices inside. She knocked and heard some shuffling until the door was thrown open, causing her to stumble back in fear for a moment. "Come in! Quickly!" sai Professor Oak as he ushered her in. There were already a bunch of people there. She couldn't find a seat that would provide any seclusion, so she opted for standing out of the way as she usually did.

*krriinggg!!* The alarm clock rang, trying to wake Sigurd up. *krriinnggg!!!* It rang longer this time. The cold weather was preventing Sigurd from getting up. Once more, the alarm clock rang and this time he got fed up and bang his pillow on it. After that, he resumes his peaceful slumber. Well, not so peaceful anyways.

?Sigurd-honey! Get up, time for school!?
?Ahhh?come on mom, five more minutes? *mumble mumble*?
?No more delaying, dear. School is not something you should miss you know. I?m coming in.?
?Alright! Alright! I?m coming down. Just don?t come up.?

Sigurd rolls up the covers and got out of bed. Then, he walked up to the window and opened it. Just as I expected, today is another freezing day?

*beep, beep! You have a new message!*

Sigurd turned to his laptop that he left on since the last night downloading an online game. He sat on his chair and checked his mail. It?s from Prof. Oak?!! My, what does he wants from me? He clicked on it and this is what it has to say.

Dear Mr. Silverblade,

Sorry to interrupt your slumber. I have to see you immediately. Please drop by at my place. I?ll explain everything there.

P/S: I know that you have to attend school tomorrow, use this as an excuse.

Yours truly,
Professor Oak.

Date received: Yesterday, at 0352 hours.

Yes!! Finally, no more school! HaHAHAH!! He printed out the e-mail and while waiting for it to finish printing he puts on his gray trousers and his jacket. Then he checked on his printer. It has finish printing. He took the printed e-mail downstairs. He wishes good morning to his mom and rushes towards her.

?Mom, I can?t go to school today. As you can see I?I have this--? He waved the e-mail to his mom.
?Mail? From Prof. Oak? What business does he want with you??
?I have no idea. He said to go to his place, ASAP.?
?Haa?fine. But when you come home, make sure you study!?
?Right. Sure. Now let me finish my breakfast, kay??

He wished his mom good-bye. Sigurd opens the door and breathes the cool breeze in.

?Prof. Oak! Here I come!!"

--At the Prof. Oak's doorstep--

*pant pant* Man! This is the best record ever. Ten minutes and thirty-two seconds. I know I'm lucky that I live near his house... He walked towards the door and knocked on it.

"I'm coming in"

He opens the door and saw many people looking at him. Prof. Oak was one of them.

"Hello, Sigurd. You've made it just in time."

Ronyo was actually starting to feel a bit out of place. He wasn?t much of a people person and all these people were starting to make him antsy. Ronyo would much rather be outside in the woods with pokemon. People for the most part always seemed to have something wrong with them. He didn?t usually run into people who didn?t have something they thought was so bad, it was more important then anyone else?s problems. Pokemon were always simple and straight forward in their lifestyles. However a few people however seemed to be generally nice and gave Ronyo a reason to step back a reassess them. The one who gave him the hot chocolate seemed nice, actually almost overly nice, but that wasn?t a bad thing. The other he noticed was the one who seemed to have come in covered in?.well Muk. She seemed like a person who appreciated nature as much or if not more then he did. Although from her look, she seemed to be on the plant side, Ronyo gave a chuckle at this thought. Ronyo scanned the room again and just saw a mess load of people. It was beginning to be clear that whatever Oak had in mind it was big. All Ronyo could do was sigh and sip some more on his hot chocolate.

?How many more people can he have invited. People are going start thinking Oaks throwing a party or something.?

The same question kept running through Ashin's mind as they were waiting for everyone to arrive. "Why did Oak choose me for whatever this is?" She began to search for the answers. She had never met him, although her mother had when she was younger. He had been a good friend of her father's, though. She remembered from her mother's stories that he had helped Oak out with some important reasearch. "This still doesn't tell me why he chose to include me. I wonder.....it must have something to do with my father's history with him, or something like that."

Just then she got a text message from her mom. "Hey sweety. Did you make it okay? Has he told you yet?" She quickly texted back, "I'm here and fine. Told me what?" As she waited for the reply, her suspicions arose. "She makes it seem like she knows.....Of course! It was her doings. She told Oak about me." A few seconds later her mom's reply came back. "Glad you made it okay. Call me when you're done." That proved it. her mother knew.

Ashin focused her attention on the others in the room now. She noticed one girl in particular seemed overly nice, not a bad thing but it might get annoying. One guy in particular caught her eye. He kept looking at his watch and looked quite aggrivated. Her curiosity was growing rapidly over him. She wouldn't go over and talk to him but he seemed very mysterious, a quality that piqued her intrest. The other guys all seemed normal, with the exception of one (Andrew) who seemed a little childish. As for the other girls, one (Mika) looked like she did alot of outdoor type stuff, one was wearing summer-type clothes, and the other seemed nice.

"EXTRA! EXTRA!" yelled a young boy with rather torn clothes. Jonas walked up to him, kneeling down to the boys height. "Would you like to buy a paper, sir? The headline is especially fascinating today!"

Jonas smiled and gave the boy a dollar in exchange for the paper. "I've known you for a few months, Julian. No need to be so formal, haha." Jonas said, standing up. He waved goodbye and unfolded the newspaper.
Oak Opens Door to New Trainers
Recently the highly regarded Pokémon Proffessor, Samuel Oak has started sending out letters to extremely specific people all over the Pokémon regions asking them to join him in his lab to talk about what could only be giving out new Pokémon...

Read More, PG.23
Jonas' jaw dropped and he quickly tucked the papers under is arm, going from a walk to a run. He raced home as fast as he could, knowing that the mail came just an hour ago.

For almost his whole life, Jonas had taken pictures of Pokémon in their natural habitats. Of course, after a while he became quite good at taking pictures and eventually got an extremely good camera to take photos with. This was about a year ago.

Not even six months after that, one of Jonas' friends suggested he send the pictures to an expierienced Pokémon Prof. Jonas agreed since if the Professor liked the pictures, he may be able to get a job there. Naturally, he sent his pictures to Oak.

And so, Jonas dashed home as fast as a Tauros to see if Oak had sent him a letter.

Surely if he'll send people mail to invite them to get a Pokémon he'd send one boy a letter inviting him to come work for him! thought Jonas.

He stopped abruptly at his mailbox and reached inside. Nothing. Perhaps his little brother was home from school? He walked inside and sure enough his brother sat at the kitchen table with a pile of mail.

"Hey, Jonas," he said. "Some guy named Oak sent you a letter. Something about Pokémon?" Jonas' brother took no interest in Pokémon (which was extremely rare since most careers revolved around Pokémon in some way). If he was asked what Oak, Elm, Ivy, Birch and Rowan all had in common, he would say they're all plants.

"Does he want me to come work for him?!" Jonas yelped excitedly.

"Nope."

...huh?

Jonas mozied over to the table and picked up the opened envelope, taking out the letter. A few minutes later he was running upstairs to pack his bags. He was to be a Pokémon trainer!

Professor Oak, becoming slighty annoyed at the loss of time, dodged the invited guests, half-near doing acrobatics to avoid kicking peoples legs, torsos, and mugs filled with hot chocolate. OOC ? White, I hope you do not mind me controlling Jonas so that we can get this show on the road.

- - -

The sun of Kanto shined brightly over the road as Jonas made his way. He traveled the road to Pallet Town many times before ? after all, you can?t exactly become a pokemon anything if you are not willing to travel, especially on Route One. However, there was a sense of urgency this time around. Today, he had no plans to sit in the tall grass, move as still as a rock, and wait for some unaware pokemon to stop by long enough for him to take a picture. Now, he had to get somewhere ? and fast. The letter said that the famous Professor would be gathering the selected people as early as nine in the morning. At three, it was evident that even the famously patient Oak would be losing his patience all too quickly.

Jonas jumped over a toppled log that stood in his way. He had no time to lose!

In Pallet Town, however, the meeting held in the Professor?s house was becoming much more chaotic than the Professor had wished.

?Why the hell did we come here??

?What the heck is going on here Professor??

?Oak, you better explain what this is all about!?

?My butt is starting to itch!?

?And I got to go to the bathroom??

?Then go! No need to tell us!?

?And miss the big announcement? Hell no!?

And with every protest, the Professor would do his best to settle everyone down. ?Everyone, please, just a little bit longer??

?That?s what you said an hour ago!?

Suddenly, the door slammed open, and all eyes turned to face a swearing teenager with a camera hanging around his neck. ?I?am Jonas Trevellion!? he answered any questions before they were asked.

?Ah Jonas, good of you to finally show up. I would say have a seat, but as you can see??

It was more packed than a hive.

?I understand?, he said warmly. ?Come inside, will you?? Jonas agreed all too well.

?Well then, now that most of us have finally made it, I will get down to business. Two weeks ago, Lance and I have a chat ??

?Lance, the acclaimed Dragon Trainer??

?Of the Elite Four??

?The guy whose pokemon fought off a dozen Onyx?s in the war??

?Everyone! Please! Settle down already.? The professor coughed lightly. ?Now, as I was saying, Lance ? of the Elite Four ? called me to inform of some dire news. It would appear that the affects of the war had a much higher cost than just human lives.?

The look on Matt?s face darkened almost instantly.

?The connection between Trainer and pokemon has been lost. No longer do Trainers see pokemon as living, breathing, thinking animals. They do not even think of them as able to have any rights.?

?What??

?Bull!?

?That?s horrible??

?My god?How can we go so low???

?Shut up already! I got a headache??

?Everyone! Let me speak.? Oak took out a handkerchief and wiped his forehead. ?Lance gave me a proposition, one that I did not take without a huge amount of consideration. He suggested that give a handful of people that I knew to be moral people who saw pokemon as more than just tools of war and profit, but as living allies, pokemon of their own choice from my nursery.?

?Pokemon? Seriously?

?We?re gonna be trainers? Suhweeeet!?

?Oh whats the catch??

?He?s right! No one gives something for nothing.?

?There is no catch. It as I have said it. I give you one pokemon of you choice, as well as a supply of six low rank pokeballs and food for you and your pokemon that, if you act maturely and responsibly, will last you a few months. What you have to do is somehow prove to the world that pokemon are not tools. They are animals, proud animals at that.?

No one said a word.

?Ahem, well if you will all follow me?? He opened a door, which obviously led to the nursery. Everyone obeyed, silently.

They found themselves back outside, on the way towards the Professor?s actual laboratory. Knowing that they would get lost in the huge facility if left to their own devices (with the exception of Matt and Azure of course), he led them to the nursery. It was a huge place, full of trees and vegetation and, as would be expected, tamed pokemon.

?In here there are roughly ninety species of first evolution stage pokemon. None of them are babies. My assistants will give you a pokemon. Find one that you wish, and simply tap, or throw, or whatever other method that suits you, to capture the pokemon. Once that is done, return to the meeting room.

That is all.?

In an instant, they all rushed onto the field as if running from a plague.

The only one who took his time to observe, and slowly walked onto the field was Matt.

Sergei wasn't sure he could believe what he had heard from the Professor. He must have been joking! A Pokemon? Lance? Trainers no longer having a heart for Pokemon? Sergei sure didn't keep much track of the world. The Professor must have been joking.

The group arrived at what would probably be the nursery, full of trees, plants and... Pokemon! Sergei couldn't help but smile. Yet, for some odd reason, he still believed it was a joke. Sergei looked up at the Professor for a moment, catching his last words, before the entire group (well, most of them) lunged forward into the nursery. Sergei was pushed forward a little and he didn't try to stop himself. As the other people in the group scattered off in all directions, Sergei decided it wasn't a joke.

He took in his surroundings some more, walking slowly at first. There were so many Pokemon. How was he meant to decide which one he wanted? A fire Pokemon, of course... or maybe after what his brother did for him... a water Pokemon?

No. A fire Pokemon. He was sure of it.

He shook his head and looked around again, taking off slowly in almost the opposite direction of everyone else. He wanted to find the perfect Pokemon before anyone else got it. Deciding standing around wasn't going to make his desired Pokemon pop out in front of him, he went for a look around the plants.

"Wow..." he said to himself when seeing so many Pokemon near what was obviously a small lake.

He saw normal, common Pokemon, and a Nidoran, too. It was no secret that Sergei was incredibly fond of Nidoking's, therefore he always wanted a Nidoran to evolve it. But no, he didn't want to start off with a Nidoran. He had his heart set on a fire Pokemon.

Sergei turned away from the lake after taking a good look at all the tamed Pokemon. He caught glimpses of the others, running around and searching as well. Sergei bit his lip for a moment and sighed. He knew fire Pokemon weren't exactly the most common, and the ones that Sergei would normally pick were definitely not the most common. If there were any, it was likely someone would get it before him.

He turned around and began walking again, but stopped suddenly.

"What the hell..." he trailed off, stunned by the sight of a flaming monkey staring up at him.

He had no idea what kind of Pokemon it was. He had never seen it before in his life, but looked entirely interesting. Very, very interesting. And it was a fire Pokemon, too! Sergei smiled to himself, thinking that it was probably going to be the Pokemon for him.

But then he heard something. A rustling sound. In the corner of his eye he caught another flame. He turned to look, a huge, broad smile spreading across Sergei's face when the Pokemon emerged from the bushes.

A Charmander, bearing a rather large flame on its tail. Bright and burning.

"Sorry monkey boy, you're not the one for me." Sergei told the monkey Pokemon apologetically.

Charmander was looking at Sergei, a look of curiousity across the lizard's face. Sergei moved towards the Pokemon, slowly, and knelt down. It certainly was tamed. Sergei kept staring at Charmander, realizing that the little creature could evolve into Charizard, a Pokemon Sergei had always wondered about. The prospect of training such a Pokemon was almost the stuff of dreams.

"I think you'll do fine." Sergei said with a smile.

He patted Charmander on the top of its head, the Pokemon seemed to agree with Sergei's touch. Finally making up his mind, Sergei touched Charmander again, this time with the Pokeball.

He stood up with the Pokeball in his hands, smiling and feeling quite pleased with himself. He looked back for the fire monkey Pokemon but noticed it was gone, that was quite an interesting species, Sergei would definitely have to find out sooner or later what kind it was. He let it pass for now and, instead, proceeded to the meeting room with his new Charmander.

Azure walked slowly through the area looking around her in awe as she saw many diffrent types of Pokemon wandering around tha area looking at her as well. She smiled as a couple of pikachu ran by her feet. Giggleing she continues on and knelt as she heard small noises coming from behind a bush.

"Hello? Are you okay?"
Moving the bush she saw a small Cindiquill hunched over what looked like a small root.
"Your so cute!"

She reached down to run a hand acoss it's back and yelped as flames sprung up like spines.
"Your also not very trusting are you?"
she reached down again, this time for the root and pulled it up nd held it out to the small Pokemon. Grabbign it, the Cindiquill nibbled it and looked up at her with s slight smile.

"You think you would want to come with me? You sure are a cutie and I would take care fo you."
The Cindiquill blinked and snifed her out streched hand before climbing up her arm to her shoulder then to perch atop her head and call out happily.

"That's awsome, but I have to catch you first, I promise I'll let you out again."
It nodded and let her put it in the Pokeball but true to her word as soon as the light had gone off on the Pokeball she reopened it and once again the Pokemon was on top of her head.

"Well, let's go!"
She walked out of the woods that were there and past the Professor and Matt who looked at her with no emotion able to be read on his face. Azure just smiled and pointed at Cindiquill.
"Isn't he just the cuteset?"
She giggled and contiued to the meeting room, waving at Ronyo as she passed him as well.

Ashin wasn't entirely surprised at what Oak had just said. In a way it was kind of expected. When they reached the nursery she was surprised by the sheer size of it. It was huge compared to any other she had ever seen. As soon as Oak said they could go she was off. She bolted to the left through some brush and trees and began to explore. Left and right there were many diverse Pokemon, ranging from common Pidgeys, to less common Pokemon like Marill and Swinub. She had a few ideas of Pokemon she would like. Something cute like a Growlithe or a Pikachu. Definitely not a common Pokemon and she preferred fire types.

As she came to the lake, she saw a Vulpix on the other side. "A Vulpix?" she mumbled. She pondered for a few seconds, then decided, "That's definitely the Pokemon I want. It's perfect." Now she had to find a way around the lake, though. "Maybe...." she pulled out a Pokeball and threw it across the lake. It missed and rolled up to the Vulpix's paws. Vulpix bent down to sniff it and hit his nose against it. A red glow engulfed the Vulpix as he was absorbed into the ball. It shook for what seemed like forever to Ashin. When it finally stopped, Ashin let out a sigh of relief. Now all I have to do is get over there.

She ran all the way around and picked up the ball. After holding it for a few seconds, she released the Vulpix. When he came out, he shook his head in dissaproval in regards to the pokeball. Ashin knelt down beside him. "Hello my little friend. It seems we are partners now. Sorry about the ball. I won't make you stay in it if you don't want to." Vulpix looked up at his new owner. He walked around her a few times, sniffing and getting to know her. Then he rubbed his head against her. She would be good enough for him. She seemed nice and sincere. She rubbed him for a few minutes before saying, "Lets head toward the others. I assume we're leaving soon.

When they arrived back, Ashin was so excited and proud. She wished she knew some of the new trainers that were being made today. She also hoped she wouldn't have to travel alone. She didn't know whether she could defend Vulpix and herself. "I'll have to trust that Vulpix can handle anything that comes our way." she decided. Then she realized something. Vulpix didn't have a name yet. She looked down at him and thought for a few moments. "How about Shinva?" she said to Vulpix. He looked up at her with a bewildered expression. "For your name, I mean. What do you think?" He seemed to be pondering for a moment before he nodded his head with satisfaction. He liked the idea of having a name. It seemed to bring equality to them. "Oh, my name is Ashin, by the way. It's nice to meet you Shinva."

It's hard to keep up with everyone posting so much. @_@ But that's a good sign. x3 A note to those who described Turbine's entrance, though: my character's not wearing a dress or warm clothing; she's wearing shorts, a tight shirt and her sneakers, as well as a scarf for the cold weather. Not a big deal really, but I wanted to point it out. ^_^;;
Turbine slammed the door behind her upon entering the lab to keep the wild pokémon from following her in. However, this attracted the attention of the others in the room, who all turned to stare at her. Oak stepped forward to greet her, but she was not in any mood for pleasantries, and instead walked towards the seat with the most empty space between it and the next person.

Others arrived slowly, and even though more than ten people were present by her count, Oak seemed to be waiting for more still. She rolled her eyes impatiently, finding it typical that her being early to a meeting for once resulted in it taking a long time to begin. Not only was she curious as to why she had come in the first place, she was now wondering why so many others had been invited.

"He is a pokémon professor, so no doubt this will have something to do with those things. But I'm not a trainer, and by the looks of it, nobody else in here is one either. At least not yet," she determined quietly to herself, scanning the room. Those around her varied in age, but most were as old or a little older than she was. Noticing she was no longer as cold as she was outside, she removed her scarf and folded it neatly before resting it on the thighs of her crossed legs.

Hours passed, but she didn't move much other than to get up to grab a drink a couple times. She did not speak with any of the others, and mostly sat around impatiently for Oak to get on with whatever it was he had called her here for. When the last boy arrived and announced himself briefly, the Professor finally began to speak. Turbine listened intently, and was surprised, which is quite unusual. She'd never given thought to being a trainer, and from her actions earlier, she was sure most others hoped she wouldn't become one. Her impatience often got the better of her. But surely, if the pokémon followed her because she wanted it to, it couldn't be that bad.

When Oak led them all towards the nursery, Turbine remained in the back, her scarf once again around her neck. She was baffled as to why she was invited, and wanted desperately to ask Oak herself, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She sneaked her way through the group of people to be one of the first to step onto the field as Oak explained some more. She was surprised at the variety of terrain he had there, and before she could take another step on her own, she felt herself being pushed along by the group of excited soon-to-be trainers. When she finally got out of the way, she found herself in front of a tree with leaves so dark green they appeared black.

"Okay... Where are all the pokémon, anyway?" she asked aloud. As if that line were its cue, a small black bird pokémon tumbled out of the tree and dove forcefully into her stomach. She almost fell over backwards, but managed to balance herself and catch the creature. Raising an eyebrow, she pulled it up to her eye level and examined it. "A Murkrow, huh. Looks like only a baby, too." Despite her lack of pokémon experience, she was very knowledgable about the different species. The baby creature cawed angrily as if upset that she held it in such a way.

"Knock it off already," she sighed, a bit annoyed. It obeyed, but turned its head away indignantly. "And people wonder why I've never done anything with pokémon before. They're so... energetic. But I suppose if I'm supposed to do this, having a pokémon like you wouldn't be so bad." It opened one of its eyes and looked at her curiously. Pulling the pokémon into her chest, she carried it to one of the aids and asked for a pokéball and proceeded to capture the black bird.

"A Murkrow? I didn't know we had any of them living around here..." the aid said curiously, scratching his head. Turbine juggled her knew pokéball between her fingers as he spoke, rolling her eyes. "Anyway," he chuckled, "You can go back to the meeting room now." She thanked him, though in an impatient tone, and turned to walk away. As she made her way back to the meeting room, she stared quietly at the small device in her hand, still a bit confused, but a bit pleased nonetheless.
