foxtu78
"What ever works best for you. I think I'll leave Shinva out. I'm hoping to run into some wild Pokemon to get a feel for battling. We should get going before it's too late. The path from here to Veridian is treacherous at night." Ashin said as she prepared her stuff to leave, slipping her Pokedex in her pocket. "So I never caught where your from." Sergei asked. "Oh, I'm from Pewter City. I know the route from her up until Pewter pretty well. Any farther than the entrance of Mt. Moon and I'm clueless, though." She replied. "Well, lets go." When they left the town, they noticed alot of common Pokemon running around. When they were further along the overgrown path, they noticed a Rattata was following them. "It seems we have a visitor." Ashin said. "Yeah. He's a cute little guy, isn't he?" Sergei replied. Shinva was eying the rattatta suspiciously. "Well little Rattatta, What are we to do with you?" Ashin said. Rattatta looked up at her, then at Shinva. It became jealous of Shinva because he had a trainer, and in an instant was on top of him. Ashin's smile and good mood dissapated in seconds. "Quick Shinva, throw that Rattatta off and give it a good headbutt." Shinva quickly obliged and the Rattatta was thrown off and ended up hitting a tree and falling to the ground unconsious. Ashin pulled out one of her Pokeballs and threw it at the Rattatta. After a couple of shakes, Rattatta was caught. Ashin walked over and picked up the ball, which now contained her newest Pokemon. "I'm not really sure if I wanted a Rattatta." She said. "Well, you can always release it." Sergei said, trying to be helpful. "Your reaction time to that situation was amazing for a new trainer." "Really? I just didn't want that Rattatta to hurt Shinva." she replied as she picked Shinva up. "I'm going to carry you for a little while if that's okay with you." she said to Shinva. He nodded contently as they began to continue.
AngryBarista
OOC: This is the new colour I'll be using, since A: It's easy to read and; B: Miku is a hippie not a ditz...just thought you'd like to know my reasoning lol. IC: Miku sat as she watched her fellow beginner-trainers stand and grab their things before heading out the door. Oh Matt, I knew you'd leave first. Always in a hurry to get where you need to go... she thought as her friend walked out in the direction of Route 1. Remembering that she herself was also supposed to be leaving; albiet also deciding whether or not she were actually becoming a registered trainer, Miku stood and pulled out her Pokeball - first making sure everyone had left. When she was sure enough, she held it out in front of her. "So do you think you'll take up the trainer challenge, Miku?" asked Oak, coming back into the room. "They're gone right? You're the only one left?" "I think so Professor...why?" "Oh, no reason; I just wanted to talk to you about the replacement you recommended...or rather, all seven of them." At this Miku smiled, "Grass-type Pokemon are as good a gardener as any, if not better Professor. I found Sakura here in the most beautifully tended alcove," she said, letting out the Cherinbo. It blinked a few times, as though it had just woken from a long sleep, then proceeded to bounce around Miku's feet in circles. "Ah, good choice, good choi-" "She chose me, not I her, sir" the hippie chick cut in. Oak looked at her in bewilderment; although Miku was firm in her arguments, she had never cut him off before. "Of course, of course. Miku come here, I want to show you something..." Oak took Miku's elbow and directed her to her pack. Sakura followed closely behind, 'squee-ing' all the while. "Instead of Pokemon food, I had my aides put plant nutrients in, since I knew you would choose a grass-type. Another thing in here is a newly developed 'Dex. I felt that the Pokedex would be more suited to the other trainers, and given your history with horticulture, I'd like you to record your findings on rare occurrences in the environment you travel through in this." The Pokemon Professor produced a small handheld electronic notebook from Miku's labelled pack, the sight of which made the girl's face light up. It had a green covering, different to the traditionally red-cased Pokedex. "Oh Professor...I couldn't..." she started, but Oak didn't let her finish. "I insist; in fact, I give you no choice. Here it's yours, now run along!" and with that he shoved the new 'Dex in her pack, threw the pack at her and dashed into the maze that was his laboratory. Miku simply stood with the pack in hand, the look of a stunned mullet on her face; Sakura bounced on the spot happily, shrilly calling out "Cheriii~!" again and again. A few minutes later, Miku the grass-type-trainer could be seen leaving Pallet Town for Route 1; 'Dex in hand, touchpen in the other, and Sakura poking both heads out of the pouch of the girl's apron, bathing in the afternoon sunlight. "Okay Sakura, let's show the world what Nature's messengers can accomplish!" she said excitedly, then noticing Matt in the distance, "Let's see what that boy is up to shall we?"
Tekkaman
As Demetri and Jonas stayed in Viridian City's Pokemon Center for the night... The Pokemon Nurse opened a back door in the Pokemon Center that was used primarily for sleepy trainers in the night [or day]. Demetri began to get into the second bed. There were only two in the room. "Okay then. G'night." Nurse Joy responded as she shut the door to the room. On the other side, she put a sign on the doorknob reading "Occupied" so she wouldn't forget that people were in there already if someone else was to try and aquire a room. In the morning as the two awoke, went through their trainer bags [finally], aquired their Pokedex's and Pokeballs, not to mention eating breakfast... "Ready to go?" Demetri said, still sitting in the Pokemon room, finishing the Steak and Eggs meal Nurse Joy was kind enough to make for the two of them. On the ground, Pidgey, Larvitar, and Swinub were finishing their food; Nurse Joy giving Larvitar the best soiled dirt she could aquire. He was stuffed as well. "Oh man, am I full!" Jonas said, collecting the plates and handing them to Nurse Joy. Jonas then aquired his bag and put it onto his back, Demetri and Jonas making sure to grab their Pokedex's and put it in their pockets. Demetri then aquired his Pokemon into the Pokeballs. He then looked at Jonas. "Well? Aren't you gonna call your Swinub back?" "I told you Demetri, i'm not to fond of putting my Swinub inside the Pokeball until needed. Swinub wants to explore the world as well." The explination made sense to Demetri but he wasn't trying to follow suit with his new companion. He instead walked past Jonas, opening the door to the room and waving to Nurse Joy before exiting the Center. Jonas tried to keep up with his partner, apologizing for Demetri's rudeness, if any, to the Nurse as he exited as well. Jonas finally caught up with Demetri, his Swinub moving with his trainer as if they were attached. "Where to?" Jonas stated. Demetri smiled at the statement. He knew the Route's and Gym's like the back of his hand, unbeknownst to everyone else. He stopped walking and looked at his companion. Demetri pointed to Jonas' left. "Over there is where we go when we've collected all 8 badges. The Route leads to Victory Road, where we have to fight the most powerful Pokemon in order to get to -" "The Elite Four?" Jonas replied. "Excellent." Demetri said, happy from hearing the correct answer. "But we have no badges, so we need to collect our first." "And that first would be?" "Pewter City." Demetri said. "I've never met rhe Gym Leader in Pewter but i'm positive about the location of the Gym. It's uphill from Viridian City, past Route 2 and Viridian Forest." "What's in Viridian Forest?" "...Bug Pokemon." Demetri shuddered from the thought. Jonas laughed. "Demetri? Are you afraid of Bug Pokemon?" "NO!" Demetri yelled as Jonas laughed. "They just erk me, that's all!" "Sure, sure." Jonas said with a smile. "Prove that to me when we actually get there. Talk is cheap." "Oh I will." Demetri said, smiling back as he turned around to run off. Before he could, however, Jonas stopped him. "One more question." Demtri, wanting to continue on the adventure, started to get annoyed; he didn't let Jonas know this though, as he turned around to face him once more. "What's up?" "...Isn't that a Gym as well?" Jonas said, pointing to the large building in Jonas' upper right-hand corner. When Demetri looked in Jonas' direction, Jonas continued. "Why can't we go there?" Demetri shrugged while looking at the Gym. "No one knows. It's been like that for years; just devoid of anything." Demetri soon shrugged off his curiosity about the Gym, beginning to walk towards Route 2. "Let's go Jonas."
Doublehex
Matt sighed at the girl?s proposition. He never liked to be with people. Minus Scimnio, he was planning on doing this alone. But by the looks of this girl, she was certainly not one to take no for an answer. ?Whatever. Make your camp. I?m tired enough to keep on talking.? So, he went in and closed the flap that was the tent?s entrance. ?Sheesh, what a grouch?, Asera noted to himself. By eleven, the three of them were on the road once. They were slowed down by a slight shower that muddied up the road, but it passed in a half hour, and they were making good time. By the time Matt?s watch read one twenty, the three of them were starving. Matt didn?t want to waste their already limited supplies, but his stomach was starting to overrule his judgment. Not to mention that Asera insisted they eat. Now. So, they took a quick bite to eat. Matt sat on an overturned tree trunk that was lying on one side of the road, whereas Scimnio sat on one of the tree branches. Asera lay on a slight hill, her legs crossed as she bit into her food. Matt bit into a piece of ration. He almost wanted to say a wise guy?s remark, but he was too sick to his stomach. Despite the grotesque taste of it, Matt knew that if he didn?t have at least one more, he would probably starve. Figthing his urge to throw the bag of rations into the woods, Matt plucked one from the bag, and ever slowly, brought it closer to his mouth? He bit down? And felt nothing but his thumb. ?What the?? He looked around, although he did not know exactly what he was looking for. He saw Scimnio screaming and tantruming over something. Matt turned to see a bird holding the ration he was about to eat. Not even giving it a chance to run away, Matt leaped for it. He missed. It flew off into the forest. ?Scimnio! After it!? The hikozaru was already on its way, jumping and swinging from tree limb to limb without a moment?s hesitation. Matt jumped to his feet, grabbed his ration bag and backpack in one full swoop, and joined his companion in the chase. ?What should I do?? ?Be quiet!? he ordered, as he ran into the distance. ?Aw, hell no!? Not even thinking about grabbing her supplies, Asera joined in the chase. It wasn?t long before he could see Scimnio?s fire amidst all the foliage. He also heard the screeching of the thieving bird. ?Hey Matt!? Asera cheered naively when she finnaly caught up with him. ?What the hell are you doing here?? ?What does it look like?? ?God! Oh, just stop talking and get that bird!? Eventually, they got the bird cornered against a stone cliff that was far too high for it to fly over, even if it didn?t have the ration. It was going to have to fight. At first, Matt never realized that thieving bird was indeed a pokemon ? or more specifically, a mukkuru. ?Okay Scimnio, looks like we?ll have to fight to prove we deserve to eat. Get at it!? Scimnio couldn?t agree more. He lunged at the mukkuru, but it flew over the tackle. It didn?t expect Scimnio to land on the cliff, and jump right back towards it, as if he was a bouncy ball. The mukkuru went flying to the ground; it was dazed, and certainly hurt a bit, but it was certainly out for the count. It flapped its wings to gain back some momentum. Scimnio certainly was not going to let it get any chance at besting him, however. Drawing upon his energy within, Scimnio released a small fire ball. The mukkuru avoided the flame, but the resulting blast slammed it into a tree. Matt unclicked his pokeball from his belt. ?Time for some due payment, my little friend?, he sneered. He threw the pokeball at the mukkuru, and the bird was captured in a red light. The ball wiggled for a bit, but the mukkuru eventually signaled defeat. Matt picked up the pokeball. ?Bingo.? They suddenly heard a beeping sound. Matt looked everywhere, but he couldn?t tell where it was. Of course, it was Scimnio who, after going through his backpack, found a certain pokedex that Matt was blissfully unaware of. ?MUKKURU, a flying type pokemon. Unlike its cousin the PIDGEY, MUKKURUS have been known to steal items from humans that have no survival value to it whatsoever. Because of this, it has been known to make an excellent messenger bird, especially during the Gizdotsou War.? The words MALE appeared in bright blue letters a button press later. ?You didn?t even know you had a pokedex.? ?Shut up.? ?So, what are you gonna name him?? ?Ayave sounds good to me?? Vicky
Sergei placed his hand just above his eyes, shielding them from the dimming sun. He frowned at the sky and looked towards Ashin. "It's almost dark. We should be in Viridian soon... maybe we could set up camp there." Ashin gave a nod of agreement and the two carried on for awile longer. Sergei was beginning to wonder if they would encounter any other trainers that had left Oka's Lab along the way, though maybe not, considering they all left at different times. Sergei shrugged it off, anyhow. It was pretty much night time when the two reached Viridian. Ashin said they should probably go into a Pokemon Center and rest there but Sergei convinced her it would probably be better to camp outside. So they could get used to, Sergei kinda figured they'd be camping outdoors throughout their adventure. They found a spot just left of Viridian, not too far away, but it wasn't smack-bang in the middle of the City either. Apparently, the route they were camping on was the round to the Elite Four; the Pokemon League. Both trainers knew they couldn't get in there without badges. "I wonder if you can catch Legendary Pokemon..." Sergei mumbled. "Hmm?" Ashin turned to look at him. "Sorry, I was just thinking. See, I've heard of these bird Pokemon... well two of them. Moltres and Zapdos. And I've heard of Ho-Oh, the Rainbow Pokemon. D'you think anyone could catch them? Or anyone has?" "I'm not sure..." Ashin mused. "I bet the Elite Four, or one of them, has a Legendary Pokemon. That's why they're so powerful. But I don't think I want to catch a Legendary." Sergei smiled to himself and lay back in his sleeping bag. Ashin called out Rattata, like she promised, and gave him some fresh air. Sergei pondered if he should release Charmander for awhile... then again, they were out in the dark. Anything could have happened. They would probably get -- "What was that?" Ashin suddenly said, jumping up. Sergei jumped up as well, trying to listen carefully. His ears picked up the sound of rustling and other noises. Pokemon cries, maybe. He looked towards Ashin and raised an eyebrow. Definitely Pokemon. After a few more noises, Ashin and Sergei pinpointed where it was coming from. The two of them, along with Rattata and Shinva, managed to duck behind a few rocks not too far away from their campsite. Although it was pretty dark, they could still see two Pokemon fighting. "Look! Nidoran!" Ashin whispered. "That one looks pretty tough. I wonder why it's fighting two of its own kind..." Sergei studied the Nidoran carefully. The one in the middle was indeed fighting off two of its own kind, and it was good at it, too. The Nidoran definitely had a fighting spirit. It kept fighting until both Nidoran backed off and it didn't seem to show any signs and being exhausted. In fact, the Nidoran seemed to be itching for a fight. Sergei whispered something to Ashin but half way through the Nidoran looked up at them, seemingly 'barking' for another fight. "Ashin, I hope you don't mind, but this one's mine!" "Go --" Ashin began, stopping when she noticed Sergei was already in front of the Nidoran. " -- For it..." Smiling at the male Nidoran somewhat maniacally, Sergei realsed Charmander and perpared for a battle.
Kitty
It was long past nightfall when Turbine finally emerged from the Viridian Forest, but not on the other side. She held Fusha in her arms as she dashed towards the PokéCenter she had seen during her last two walks through Viridian City. The two had run into an angry Pikachu and were easily beaten, having no experience battling prior to the encounter. Murkrow, being part flying type, was hit hardest by the electric attack they both received, and she could think of nothing else to do but retreat, despite the dent in her pride she received by doing so. She finally made it to the building, but the lights were off inside. Not knowing what else to do, she began pounding on the door, calling for anyone who would help her. It took a minute or two for a pink-haired young woman to finally open the doors, dressed in a nightgown and holding a small candle in her hand. "Is everything alright?" she asked in a concerned tone. Turbine, not knowing where to start explaining, simply held up her pokémon for the woman. She gasped and quickly ushered the new trainer inside. "Please, wait out here, miss. Chansey and I will take care of her from here," the woman instructed. Turbine raised an eyebrow before realizing the 'her' she was talking about was Fusha. She hadn't really paid attention to the gender of pokémon, never having thought of it as important. After her Murkrow was taken into the emergency room, she sat down on a bench to wait. Growing bored sitting around and looking at the door, she got up and explored a bit. The first thing she noticed was a row of doors on the other side of the building, but only one had a sign that read 'occupied'. "I guess staying the night at a PokéCenter would be better than in one of those tents Oak handed out," she reasoned. She was surprised that more people hadn't made it to Viridian by now, but then again, she did get to bypass Route 1 unlike the rest of them. Continuing her survey of the building, she found bookshelves, phones, some vending machines, and a computer. When she walked toward it, the screen turned on, startling her a bit. A small box came up on the screen requesting her name and ID number. Pulling the tag she had received earlier from Oak out of her pocket, she typed in her name and the ID number it had on it. There were several options that came up on screen, and the most peculiar one was dubbed simply 'Someone's PC'. She was about to select it when she heard the woman's voice again. Logging off, she walked back over to the desk. "Your Murkrow is going to be just fine," she smiled, placing the bird pokémon in front of her. "Would you like to spend the rest of the night here?" "No, that's okay," she replied as Fusha flew onto her shoulder. "We have something to do. But thank you, uh..." "Oh! Joy. My name is Joy," the woman smiled. "Thank you, Joy." Turbine and Fusha left the PokéCenter and headed back into the Viridian Forest, payback on their minds. The electric rodent had caught them by surprise the first time, but this time they were ready. They wandered around for hours, hitting dead ends, finding weak bug pokémon, and sneaking past trainers who had fallen asleep waiting for someone to come by. By the time they found the Pikachu that had attacked them earlier, it was almost sunrise and the building that would lead to the other side of Route 2 and the next city. "Alright, Fu. Lets get 'im," Turbine whispered before her partner flew off her shoulder. The two pokémon stood in a quiet stare-down for a few moments before the yellow mouse sent a shock towards its opponent. Fu pushed off the ground quickly, barely missing the jolt of electricity, and dove back at the Pikachu. The creature reacted too slowly and was hit in the side by Fu's beak. Turbine let out a proud cry, but knew that they hadn't won yet. Before the wild pokémon could use another attack, the black bird suddenly disappeared in a puff of black mist before reappearing behind it and biting down on its ear. The Pikachu cried out of pain, and was too frightened to attack back. Seeing that the wild pokémon wouldn't be able to do much more, she thought about catching it, but decided against it. Instead, she instructed Fu to knock it out with a few more hits from its beak and place it safely in some bushes for it to recover. The sun was almost fully up by now, but the two of them were more in the mood to go to bed than to have some breakfast. "You okay, Fu?" Turbine asked her pokémon with a yawn. She re-perched itself on her trainer's shoulder before cawing affirmatively, though her eyes dropped a bit from fatigue. "Guess you're tired, too." Turbine walked through the doors of the building at the end of the pathway to see a large carpeted room with plants, tables and chairs, and a bench or two. She walked over to one of the benches and laid down, immediately falling asleep while Fu nested happily in her arms. It was about six in the morning when she fell asleep, and two hours later an old man came in on his way to show his grandson and granddaughter something in the forest. The young girl pulled on his sleeve and pointed at the sleeping trainer. "Oak's sending them out pretty soon, I see," he muttered to himself. His granddaughter didn't understand, but was too excited about wherever it was he was taking them to ask him again.
Gavin
Nate watched AJ roll the pokéball about in his hand a few times before clipping it back onto his belt, despite the fact there was only a year and a bit between the two brothers, their respective personalities tended to push that barrier further apart. Nate loved his little brother, there was no doubt about that, he was his best friend and even though he hated to admit it, he made life exciting. "Blur", the Scyther Nate had picked up at the lab had turned out to be over a year old, which suited his new trainer down to the ground, as it meant he had some measure of experience in the field. They'd left the lab about an hour after getting their Pokémon, Viridian City was their first stop, as not only was it the closest gym to Pallet Town, it was their home city, which made it a preferable second step on their journey. They'd been one of the first groups to leave, Nate and his brother saw little point in hanging around the lab, they could easily call Oak if they needed to, it wasn't as if the dozens of cell phone satellites orbitting overhead were suddenly going to come crashing down. It was hard to believe that when they woke up this morning, the two brothers had been ordinary people, now they were Pokémon trainers, expected to go across the continent in search of battle and self-realisation. "Self-realisation ? I think you need to need to meditate less Nate." Nate realised he must has expressed that last sentiment in a low voice rather than thinking it. His cheeks flushed for a moment, before he realised that his brother had been kidding, despite the fact AJ appeared to be brash and independent, truth was he could take things as seriously as Nate did, and often underneath his passion, he did.
Doublehex
Professor Oak gladly accepted the cup of coffee granted to him by one of his maids. His guest, a man in plain clothes, accepted the cup as well. ?You always were the one to be such a host, Sam.? ?No reason not to be.? ?Of course not.? He sipped on the cup some more. ?Sam, your end of the deal was to entrust Matthew Camien with a pokemon, and get him out of here. We never expected you to send ten other kids with him.? ?Your benefactors never said I couldn?t give the boy some company.? ?True, but they are failing to see the point of the matter. Needless to say, we are certainly getting more than a bit worried.? ?They have nothing to lose. Why on earth are they so worried?? ?Because they have nothing to lose, and that, Professor, is a dangerous situation.? ?That is true. Very true indeed.? ?You honestly believe that they can change the world?? ?Of course. If I didn?t why would I sent them.? ?Professor, we all know what the Vetus Government had you perform in the war, and what you did to those who thought they were pulling you by a leash. It?s needless to say that my benefactors have some reason to be concerned over you sending ten pokemon trainers to change the morality of this world. Even more so, why do you trust Lance so much?? ?What are you suggesting?? ?A Gifted has been sent to watch Matt.? ?A what?? ?I did my best to persuade them Sam, but honestly, they didn?t have a choice. You forced their hand.? ??I suggest you leave for the time being.? ?I was about to do the same thing. Don?t think poorly of me Sam. I am just a messenger.? The man got up and walked to the door. ?What should I tell them?? ?That I acted within their boundaries.? ?Fair enough.? And then he left. * * * After nearly twenty four hours of being on the road, Matt and Asera finally entered Viridian City at seven. Although certainly not the largest metropolis the Vetus Government had constructed (that title belongs to Saffron City), it was a major economic source of survival for the dozens or so suburbs that dotted the Notos Peninsula. ?We finally made it!? Asera announced. With that, she plopped onto the ground, obviously exhausted. ?Well, I?m off.? ?Where are you going?? ?Places.? Before she could even get up to tackle him, Matt was gone without a sight. To Matt, who had never left Pallet Town before, the city with all of its lights and technology and traffic was a welcome change from home. He was lost in wonder at the marvel. It was like he had entered a world totally alien from him. He went from street corner, constantly getting lost, but never realizing it. Scimnio, on the other hand, was doing his best to keep his companion from getting into too much trouble, and moving him in some sort of general direction. Eventually, Matt came to his sense and realized more than anything that he needed to get some sort of map from one of the stations, most likely the one near Route 2. So, avoiding whatever traffic he could, he made his way to the north end of town. The walk took him an hour. By then, Turbine was just waking up. She had been asleep since six that morning, and after the ordeal with that yellow rat the scientists called pikachu, she was exhausted. But now, she had awakened; she was refreshed, and more than ready to kick some major butt?somewhere. ?What are you squawking about?? she complained when Fu was flapping near her, yelping wildly. Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she saw that one of the people from Oak?s overly epic meeting had just made his entrance. ?Aw great.? Then Matt saw that Turbine was looking at him. ?Oh great.? She was about to walk past him when Matt had to bump into a large man. Angered, the man ? and several others who were just as large, if not bigger ? turned to see him. ?What the hell were ya doing?? ?What are you talking about?? ?You bumped into, on purpose I?m betting, you SOB!? ?Hey, I did nothing!? ?Oh, so you?re playing innocent, eh?? ?I?m not playing anything!? ?Yeah, maybe if you weren?t eying that girl there you wouldn?t cause trouble!? ?What??? ?You both should pay?Get them!? Matt took a glance at Turbine. Just one. But that is all that was needed. ?Run. Now!? They raced out of the building, with them jumping into the first car they saw. Matt just had to pick the driver?s seat. And even worse, the fool left their key in it. ?Do you even know how to drive?? ?I went to driver?s ed?? ?You failed it, didn?t you?? ?Shut up!? Suddenley, they heard the thugs exit the building. ?They?re in one of our cars!? ?Damnit!? ?Just drive!? And so, the chase began.
Kitty
"Are they still behind us?" Matt asked anxiously, gripping the steering wheel tighter than necessary. "Sounds like it to me," Turbine yawned in reply, still drowsy after having just woken up. She didn't bother turning around to check as the sound of the thugs' shouts and the motors of their cars were getting louder and louder as they came closer. Fu was sitting in her lap, shaking in fear at the boy's driving. As the car went over a bump, Turbine began complaining. "Can't you keep this thing on the path instead of going through the grass and dirt?" "Lets see you do any better!" he shouted angrily. "I would, but if we stop to switch, those gigantic monkeys will catch up to us in no time. No offense little guy," she added, noticing the hurt look on the fire pokémon's face. "That, and I wouldn't drive in this state anyway." "What do you mean?" he asked curiously. "I just woke up, dammit! I hadn't been up three minutes before you had to go and piss that guy off!" she argued. "I didn't do anything! He's just an idiot! And you didn't have to come with me, you know," he retorted. "What else could I have done? If I had stayed there, those perverts would do who-knows-what with me!" "You have a pokémon now. You could have fought them off or something." "Oh, give me a break. She's just a baby! She can't fight off six guys' pokémon at once!" "Why don't you stop complaining and start trying to figure out how to get those thugs off our tails!" "Christ, now I remember why traveling alone is so much better!" "You think I like this anymore than you do?!" While the two of them bickered back and forth, their pokémon had noticed the thugs approaching. They glanced from one another back to the advancing cars nervously, wondering what would happen if their human partners did not start cooperating soon. The three of the six men, now only a car-length behind the two teens, threw their pokéballs into the air. Out of them came a Mankey, a Machop, and a Machoke, all of whom landed on the back of the car with a loud thud, rocking the two teens in the front seat. Turbine and Matt whipped their heads around simultaneously before letting out two loud shouts. "SHIT!" they cried in unison. "Concentrate on the road, dammit!" Turbine ordered before standing up in her seat. "Are you insane?!" Matt yelled, though his eyes remained on the road in front of him. "Fu! I've got an idea!" she said to her partner as the two of them watched the other pokémon advance. Whispering something into the dark pokémon's ear, she grinned as Fu took off from her shoulder and head-on into the Machoke who immediately fell off the back of the car. "One down, two to go," she muttered. She had caught the first one by surprise, and hoped it would work again. Fu returned to Turbine's side before swooping towards Mankey as it had towards Machoke a moment ago. The Mankey was prepared, and dodged the attack, leaving Fu to fumble through the air until landing in the face of one of the thugs. "Fu!" Turbine shouted worriedly, but the black bird flew back onto her shoulder unharmed. Matt, having turned around to watch briefly, knew he had to help too. "Hey, uh, girl!" Matt shouted, suddenly realizing he didn't know Turbine's name yet. But she knew he was referring to her and looked back at him."You awake enough to drive yet?" She blinked for a moment before nodding. Fu reattached herself to Turbine's shoulder as the girl sat back down and took over the wheel the moment Matt jumped up. "Alright guys, my turn," he grinned.
Doublehex
The car took a swift turn upon one of the bumpy roads, almost flipping it over. Route Two was in even worse shape than Route One ? tree trunks over rode most of the roads, and it was not uncommon for a tree log to block one all together. ?Me? Take the wheel? Are you out of your mind?? ?Just do it damnit!? Reluctantly, she agreed. The girl slowly crawled over from the passenger?s seat to the driver?s. Matt did his best to crawl over the seat to the back. Unfortunatley, he had to be so nervous with his hands that he touched her butt. ?You didn?t!? ?Did what?? He got kicked in the head for an answer. ?Damnit! What was?? The car took a wide turn?one wide enough that it almost made it flip over. ?Steer straight!? ?I?m trying damnit!? The mankey and machop leaped back onto their owner?s car. Matt looked in fear as one seemed to be bringing out a gun. ?Scimnio! Fire! Something! Anything!? Agreeing all too well, Scimnio allowed fire energy to flow into his hands. Waiting for just the right moment, it fired off a series of shots at an overlying branch. It fell off, right ontop of the engine of the car. ?Damnit!? Matt could hear some of the thugs curse. ?Looks like we got them?? ?Look out!? Turbine had nearly steered the car into a large tree. Wildly, she turned the wheel, hoping there was enough time to turn it and not crash. Too late. The car rolled over half a dozen times before its momentum finally ceased. The car was above them, its once shiny exterior not rubbish, but they were certainly not pinned down by it. Realizing the coming crash, Fusha had grabbed Scimnio and flew off with him. Turbine was the first to exit the rubble. ?Uh?? When Matt emerged, he found six of the thugs were surrounding them, some with weapons, others with pokeballs. ?Scimnio!? Upon his call, the hikozaru answered with a ball of fire towards the thugs. Like ants they dispersed for a moment. But they quickly regrouped. Scimnio climbed back up to Matt?s shoulders as Fusha landed on the girl?s. Matt had withdrawn the pokeball that held Ayave. He dropped it, and the mukkuru was released. ?Ready?? ?Only if I have to.? ?And I?d say that be right about now.? ?Perfect. I?ve been itching to kick someone?s ass. Preferably yours, but these idiots will do?? ?Ya know, I should be insulted?? ?Shut up and fight already!? ?Fair enough! Scimnio, another fireball would be great. Ayave, distract them!? At once, they got to work. Scimnio leaped from Matt?s back onto the neighboring tree trunk, leaping from limb to limb in a successful effort to avoid the bullets. Ayave was swiping at the thugs like crazy, tackling into them at random and at such high speeds, the idiots didn?t know where to go or look next. Fusha was already at work as, per the girl?s orders, creating a mist that clouded the thug?s visions. Between the constant fireballs trying to make them as fired as flame licked hamburgers, the crazy bird hitting them from every direction, and the mist that made them as blind as a bat, things were not looking in their good fortune. ?Screw the car! Let?s get out of here!? ?Right behind you!? ?Vamos!? Like chickens missing their heads, they ran off into their cars, and after putting the pedal to the medal, they were off. Leaving Matt and the girl behind with the rubble. ?What now?? he asked. ?To Pewter City, I guess.? He shrugged. ?Whatever. Come on Scimnio! Ayave!? And so, they were off. GuyYouMetOnline
Man, Aesera thought as Matt ran off, what is his problem? Is he just anti-social or something? I mean, he can't be that much of a jackass. Oak's a good judge of character, and he wouldn't have selected Matt for this if that attitude is typical of him. So there has to be more to him then I've seen. Well, it doesn't really matter now, I guess. Maybe I'll run into him again, but until then, I guess I'm on my own. Well, maybe not on my own. Absol's still with me, after all. "You want out for a bit, Absol?" Aesera said as she grabbed Absol's Pokeball and let the Pokemon out. "Come on, let's take a look around. Apparently the Gym here is closed, so we can't go for a badge yet, but I would like to check out the Gym, take a look at it. So come on, let's go." Ae she and Absol walked, Aesera was thinking. She was a trainer now, and sooner or later she'd have to battle other trainers. She and Absol had learned a few things about battling from their encounters with wild Pokemon, but Aesera knew that battling another trainer would be a different experience. She remembered how her sister described it. "When you're battling a wild Pokemon," Katrina had said, "you're up against a single individual, a single mind, and wild Pokemon tend to be somewhat predictable. This is not true when you're battling a trainer. You must contend with the strategies of both trainer and Pokemon, and in addition, a trainer's Pokemon are not as predictable as wild Pokemon are. No matter how much you prepare, you will get some suprises during battles with other trainers." Aesera had learned quite a bit from her sister, which gave her something of an advantage. Many beginning Trainers didn't know a lot about what it was like to be a trainer, but thanks to Katrina, Aesera had known what to expect. She knew that she didn't know everything, but she felt that she was as well-prepared as she could be. Sudenly, Aesera and Absol had to leap back from the road as a car came screaming down it. Aesera got a look at the two people in the car, and recognized them both. One was Matt, and the other was that Turbine girl, another one who'd been at Oak's. Right behind them were other cars, filled with people who had the look of thugs. There were a couple Pokemon on Matt and Turbine's car, presumably the thugs'. "Okay, I don't know what that was about," Aesera said to Absol, "but I want to find out. They're in cars, so they're faster than us, but they should be easy to follow. Look, they've made a pretty nice trail out of knocked-over garbage cans and mailboxes and that kind of thing. Still, if we want to know what's up, we'll need to go fast. Would you mind if I rode you? You're a lot faster than I am." Absol seemed to have no objections, so Aesera got onto the Pokemon's back. Absol took off after Matt, Turbine, and the thugs, going slower while getting used to the weight added by Aesera. Once he was used to it, though, Absol speed up considerably, following the trail of broken and knocked-over objects in their effort to learn just what the hell was going on. Eventually, Aesera and Absol reached the chase's ending point. One of the cars was wrecked, and the other was gone. There were still a few people looking at the scene. "What happened here?" Aesera asked one of them as she got off of Absol. "Looked like a chase," the man replied. "The front car came on too fast and was going to hit the tree. The driver tried to avoid it and wound up rolling the car. He and the passenger seemed fine, but then these mean-looking people got out of the following cars, and they looked pissed. The two managed to fend them off, and then they left in that direction." The man pointed. "That's the way to Pewter," Aesera remarked. "Well, whatever. It's probably no concern of ours, Absol. Now come on, let's go take a look at that Gym like we were planning to."
AngryBarista
Miku's first day on the road...6pm Miku and Sakura took their time wandering through Route 1; Miku frantically scribbling notes into the Hortidex about the state of the road while Sakura ran in circles trying to find a nice tree. It was, all in all, a peaceful walk. They were in no rush to make it to Viridian City, and Miku wanted to find out what kinds of grass-Pokemon came out at night on the small route. The young researcher looked up from her chicken-scratch writing and over to where Sakura was playing beneath the nearest tree. Spots along the roadside were lush with greenery, but others seemed to be devoid of life completely. Note to self...Route 1 needs attention when we get back... she wrote. "Cheririi~!" cried Sakura suddenly, the sound of which made Miku's head snap up, almost causing whiplash. The Cherinbo had been playing under a tree housing a Spearow nest, and now one of the fiery birds was pelting Sakura with a rain of pecks in a furious rage. "Well it is their mating season after all..." reasoned Miku. She just stood for a second, but the sight of her partner getting hurt caused her to cave in. "Umm, Sakura, uh...tackle it to the ground?" came her uncertain call. Sakura shook clear of the Spearow and launched itself upwards, hitting the bird square in the face. The seedling began to glow excitedly, taking in the sun's remaining rays to replenish its energy. "You can photosynthesise...of course..." Miku thought aloud, then to herself; Hrmm...if she can photosynthesise to regain energy...I wonder if she can use the Sun's rays as an attack? I mean I did hear someone say something about a beam of solar energy... "Sakura, try using Solar Be--" but the girl stopped. Her Cherinbo was lit with an orange glow. "Huh?" It was then that Miku realised what was happening. She remembered one time while she was gardening in her backyard with her mother's Rozureido. It was when she was younger, when the war was in its last days. An Arbok found its way into her family's yard, and made to attack young Miku, but Rozureido intervened. It glowed in the same way Sakura was now, then launched an amazingly beautiful sequence of attacks. Her mother had told her that Rozureido liked to use a 'Growth, Magical Leaf, Petal Dance' combination; hurling leaves of energy into the air with its petals, all of which then honed in on the Arbok. Let's try something like that... thought the hippie-chick, coming back to reality. "Sakura, try using your leaf for something!" she called to her friend, not 100% sure of whether it was Magical Leaf or Razor Leaf a Cherinbo would know. Just as another Spearow dived out of the tree at Sakura, she launched two glowing shapes from the leaf on her main head with a flick, straight at both bird-Pokemon. Each of the Spearows tried to fly out of the way of the green energy, but it stayed true to form and cut deeply into their feathers, leaving blood-stains on the grass below. The injured birds retreated back into the tree with a "Ka-kaw!" "Wow Sakura...you're formidable, just as I say: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and there art no woman like the Earth Mother herself." At this the pink seedling grinned playfully and ran off toward Viridian City, which was about a half hour walk away from the Spearow's nest.
Wullf_Maximas
Ronyo had no problem with having Azure and her Cyndaquil tag along. Ronyo wasn?t much of a social person but it never hurt to try no things. Besides Azure seemed quite chipper and kind spirited, so at the worst he might get tired of to much kindness. Ronyo just chuckled at the thought and looked down at his new friend. ?So, what made you pick a Houndour?? Azure asked ?Well, as odd as it sounds I didn?t really pick him. I found him after he had been attacked by one of the Ekans. I saved him and then asked if he wanted to come with me. Anubis really is the one who made the choice.? ?Anubis!? that?s kind of a morbid name.? ?Yeah I know, although he seems to like it and it seemed fitting since I found him so close to death. Plus its kinda cool as well.? Azure just giggled and looked down at the houndour, who was carrying Azure?s Cyndaquil on its back. ?It?s nice to see they get along well.? Azure said as she smiled at the two. The four of them were heading for Viridian City where they could then decide on there next course of action. The general idea was to gain eight badges from eight different gyms to gain access to the Indigo Plateau. ?Terms in general are always easier said than done.? The routes gave them no choice but to go through Viridian City, through Pewter City, and to Cerulean City. However once there they could either go to Saffron City or make their way through the Rock Tunnel and to Lavender Town. So the path for now was set for them. They would get their badges, hopefully, from the Pewter and Cerulean gym leaders first. The whole trainer concept was still sinking in with Ronyo and was taking it time in striking him with the reality of the daunting task in front of them. Route one wasn?t so bad though, it was about the same as when Ronyo had walked it last coming to Pallet Town. Azure was occupying the time with stories from her youth, stories of her family, and anything else that popped in her head. Ronyo didn?t really mind, he wasn?t listen all to much but he did catch most of what she was talking about. In truth Ronyo seemed more to enjoy just hearing someone else talk to him. He spent so much time alone that this was the first time since his youth that he had talk with anyone this much. Well, Azure was doing most of the talking. The route was for the most part uneventful. It was covered over with vegetation and pokemon. The wild birds and the like swarmed areas of the road. With Anubis? presence though most of the wild pokemon stayed clear. A fire pokemon was one thing, but Anubis was a fire/dark. All the houndour had to do was give wild pokemon a leer and they would keep their distance. Having Cyndaquil on his back only enhanced this ability. Azure and Ronyo?s pace was slow and more like a stroll. Both trainers were enjoying the sites as much as the adrenaline rush from being trainers now. They really hadn?t seen any people go by that were from Oak?s lab. ?guess were at the end of the trainer train?..oh that was kinda bad, even for me.? The light from the sun was staring to turn red on the horizon and be engulfed by the tree line ahead of them. Both trainers had begun looking around with the thought of finding a good flat place to set up camp when the heard movement beyond the bushes beside them. Both gave a hand to their pokemon to stay, and the two inched there heads through the shrub. On the other side they saw several Rattata rearing up at a Cubone. The Cubone was in a fighting stance, with its left leg forward and right leg back. Its bone was in both hands held back parallel with it right leg. The two could see one Rattata had already been knocked out by the Cubone. ?wow, the little guys brave and looks like he has some fight in him too.? One of the Rattata rushed in and gave a tackle for the Cubone?s left leg. The ground pokemon spun and clubbed the rat on the head. He continued to spin and carry the rattata behind him and then continued to spin and slammed the bone into another rattata that had tried to tackle the Cubone while its back was turned. ?two at once, not bad.? Three rattatas remand and all decide to attack at once. Two came in on the side with a tackle, while the one in the middle came on with a quick attack. The Cubone took out the rattata to its right but took the quick attack in the back for doing so. The other rattata came full force with its tackle to the Cubone?s left leg. The Cubone hit the ground hard and lost grip of its bone. As it reached for its weapon the rattata with the quick attack stood over it. ?that?s it, I?ve had enough of this? ?Anubis! Defend the Cubone? Ronyo yelled as he stood up from the bush and pointed at the Cubone. Azure was right behind him. ?Cyndaquil back up Anubis!? The two fire type pokemon responded without hesitation and were standing beside the downed Cubone. The Cubone looked up at the two guarding him and caught Anubis? glance. The wolf pokemon nodded at the ground type and then returned it?s leer at the Rattatas. ?Cyndaquil, smokescreen!? ?Anubis, show them who there dealing with. Give them a howl.? Cyndaquil let out a puff of black smoke that filled the air. The rattata began to cough a bit from the smoke. Then they heard Anubis? howl and it sent chills up their little spines. Although the howl wasn?t meant to do that, it was a nice bonus effect. ?Anubis, Ember shot!? ?Cyndaquil, Tackle attack!? Anubis let out a ball of fire that slammed into one of the rattata, and at the same time Azure?s Cyndaquil knocked another rat pokemon down. The last rattata seemingly the wisest took off with its tale between its legs. Ronyo turned to the Cubone and picked the pokemon up. ?alright little guy, lets get you to Viridian City, and a pokemon center.? Ronyo and Azure were still a ways away from the city, but with Cubone in tow they double timed it. They hit the city limits around nightfall. ----------------------------------------- At the Center ----------------------------------------- ?The Cubone you brought in is doing fine. Its very strange to see a Cubone so far from its normal area around Lavender Town. So, which one of you is his trainer?? nurse Joy asked ?Well neither Nurse Joy, we found him being jumped by seven rattata so we helped him out. He was hurt pretty bad, but he sure took out a good deal of them. He took down one before we showed up and three more after that.? Ronyo said with what sounded like a trainer rooting for their own pokemon. ?wow, that?s impressive. You sound like he?s your pokemon though.? nurse Joy smiled. A short time later Chansey brought the Cubone out. He walked over to Ronyo and Anubis and just looked at them, then at Azure and her Cyndaquil. He have Azure and her Cyndaquil a bow of thank you, but when he turned to face Ronyo and Anubis he dropped to one knee and bowed his head. ?He?s a strange one isn?t he? I?ve never seen a pokemon do that before. It reminds me of a samurai accepting a new master.? nurse Joy stated ?Well, looks like you got yourself a new pokemon.? Azure said with a smile Ronyo looked at the Cubone and smiled then bowed. The Cubone seemed to smile and Ronyo dropped a poke ball on the ground. The Cubone nodded and tapped the ball with its bone. The ball took the little ground type in and the light went off. ?Welcome Cubone, I think I?ll call you Bushido. It seems fitting, and I?ll keep you in here for awhile. You deserve a good rest,? Ronyo looked at Azure, ? so, where to now??
Ellerby
"Hey," Jonas said. "In case you're wondering why I know absolutely nothing about Kanto... it's because I live in Shin'ou." Demetri gave Jonas a weird look but continued walking. "How is it there?" he asked. "Oh, it's beautiful. It's the only region in the world that has snow accesible to non-trainers and I frequently visit the north to take pictures of Yukinooh and the like." Jonas pulled out a map and showed Demetri the place where he takes the pictures of Yukinooh. "Looks great. We'll have to go someday." Demetri smirked. Jonas was shocked. "You mean--?" "Yeah," Demetri said. "I guess we're travel companions. You're not as bad as I thought and we have a lot to teach eachother." Demetri became serious for a second, though. "But we also have to promise to be rivals. The whole way." he said. Jonas nodded. "Of course. Rivals but friends. I like it!" Jonas clapped excitedly and raced ahead, seeing a sign. He read it aloud to Demetri.
TRAINERS! The following area is Viridian Forest which leads to Viridian City. Please be aware of the countless wild Pokemon and winding maze-like structure of the forest. If night falls and you are still in the forest, please make shelter AWAY from any trees. Thank you.
Just as Jonas finished reading, Demetri yelped in surprise. The photographer looked back in surprise to find a Caterpie latched onto Demetri's head. Without thinking, Jonas took Swinub off his head and placed him on the ground. "Swinub!" he yelled. "Tackle!" And Swinub complied. But at the same time the pig charged, Caterpie did aswell. Their heads collided and both Pokemon fell to the ground, Caterpie the first to get up. Just as Swinub was turning over, the green offender shot a stream of sticky web-like thread at Swinub, slowing it's speed. Caterpie went in for another tackle and succeeded this time. Swinub flew a few feet back and hit Jonas' leg. Swinub wiggled back onto its feet and glared angrily at the worm rival. He opened his mouth and shot a blast of powdered snow at the foe, KO'ing it instantly. Demetri knelt down beside and gave it a quick look. "Yeah, he's fainted." he stated. Jonas threw his arms in the air and Swinub did the same, dancing in a circle snorting. "Let's go." said Jonas, now extremely happy. He sprayed some Potion on Swinub and picked his pig Pokemon up. "Aren't you going to capture Caterpie?" Demetri asked, a little surprised. "Nah, let's leave him be."
Vicky
Nidoran was already eyeing Charmander, pointing its horn forward. Sergei wanted to wait for Nidoran to make the first move, it was a tactic Sergei had learnt from watching his brothers... and Blaine, whenever he got the chance. The Nidoran kept staring at Charmander, flicking back dirt with its hind legs every now and then. It was definitely spirited. Suddenly, in a flash, Nidoran cahrged forward for a Tackle. "Charmander! Move!" Sergei yelled. Charmander, instinctively rather than obeying the order, leapt to the side and went to tackle Nidoran back. Nidoran seemed to be pretty witty as well and managed to dodge Charmander's attack. "Keep 'em busy Charmander." The two Pokemon didn't put much effort into their battle at first, they circled each other and occasionally tried to tackle their foe but missed. Sergei wasn't going to let this Nidoran pass. He watched the Nidoran, trying to figure something out to get an advantage, hopefully an advantage that would help them win. Afterall, Sergei knew you couldn't catch a Pokemon at full health and if the Nidoran kept dodging his Charmander they'd be there all night. Then he noticed it. Charmander almost slipped and his tail, along with its strange large flame, waved in front of Nidoran. Nidoran seemingly backed away fearfully from the flame. "Charmander, back Nidoran away with your tail!" Charmander whipped his tail around at Nidoran, Nidoran flinched and backed away. Charmander then quickly leapt forward, hitting Nidoran in the side with a full on tackle. Nidoran fell backwards but upon noticing the flame wasn't in its face anymore the spirited little fighter got back up. Sergei swore under his breathe. Nidoran went for a tackle but he was a lot slower this time. "Dodge and attack it, Charmander!" Quickly, Charmander jumped to the side, narrowly missing Nidoran's sharp horn. He then clawed the Nidoran with a scratch attack, knocking the Nidoran back some more. Sergei took his chance and threw the Pokeball at Nidoran. In a red glow Nidoran was absorbed into the Pokeball. The Pokeball crashed the floor and wobbled for a bit. Quite a awhile, in fact. All the time Sergei was incredibly nervous that Nidoran would break out. With such a fighting spirit he wouldn't put it past the Nidoran. Ashin and Sergei, even Charmander in fact, gave a sigh of relief when the Pokeball stopped moving and Nidoran was secure. Sergei picked up the Pokeball and sighed again, smiling nervously over at Ashin. "I guess that makes us even. We both have a Pokemon each!" The two shared a light laugh before going back to the camp they had made. ----- The Next Morning... Sergei awoke slowly, wanting to go back to sleep again. He closed his eyes again and rolled to one side and tried to ignore the world around him. It didn't work too well. He heard a crackling sound, followed by a burning smell. It was a pretty warm morning... maybe the sun was burning the ground. He opened his eyes again and was met with a thick grey smoke in his face. Quickly jumping up, he noticed his sleeping bag was on fire with Charmander's bright tail resting on it. "Shit!" Ashin awoke suddenly along with Shinva and her Rattata, catching the sight of Sergei furiously stomping on his sleeping bag and Charmander looking at him quite nervously. When the flame was put out, Sergei collasped in a sigh of relief, giving Charmander a stern but joking look. "You know, we really need to invest in a Water Pokemon for you." Charmander seemingly scratched the back of his head nervously, but Sergei gave him a smile to let his friend know he was only joking. "Do you think we should head out now?" Ashin said, followed by a yawn. "Probably. I think I saw a forest before we came here, past Viridian. Maybe we could check that out, unless you want to go to the Pokemon Center while were here or check out some more parts of Viridian." Sergei replied, packing up his things. "I don't mind where ever we go!"
Tekkaman
As the two young men walked into Viridian Forest, trees, leaves and Pokemon nest's obstructed their vision of the sky above. foxtu78
"If we go through this forest, we'll be in Pewter." Ashin explained as they approached the entrance. "I had to come though this way and it's not fun so be ready." she warned. "You mean you came through here on your way to Oak's?" Sergei asked. "Yeah. I ran into a pretty nasty Weedle, too." she said. "How did you fight it if you didn't have a Pokemon?" he asked. "Well.....I didn't fight it. I ran away from it. I can get my revenge now, though." she said, looking at Shinva. "Let's go." Sergei said as he stepped in. "See that big tree?" Ashin pointed out. "That's in the middle. The thing about Viridian forest is it's like a maze. The trees are so close together there is no short-cut though here. You pretty much have to follow the path." she explained. "So how long is this thing?" Sergei asked. "It's about a half-day's walk, but you have to be ready for wild pokemon at all times." she replied. When they had been walking around for about an hour they saw two people up ahead. "They were at the Lab." Sergei said. "Yeah, that's right." Ashin said after getting a good look at them. "So should we go over and talk to them?" Ashin asked Sergei. -------------- ooc: sorry its short. i should be on later tonight.
Andrew
“You know, maybe if we got you a girl to chase after, you’d be a bit more upbeat…sociable even? Maybe even stop mumbling to yourself?” Andrew chirped. His last comment on Nate’s ‘Meditation’ had earned him a long and boring silence. Little did Andrew know that his older brother was actually thinking about him at that moment and perhaps trying to relate to his redeemable qualities. This comment put a firmly set scowl on Nate’s features and Andrew knew he’d done it now. “Or not? You know, whatever!” He blurted out with an embarrassed look on his face. It was their second walk through route 1 that morning and now with Zubat in hand Andrew was eager to get to work. As soon as Oak had made his announcement Andrew’s systematic logic kicked in. While on this trail back he’d wanted to catch a Caterpie most definitely and if possible a Pikachu. He’d also seen a Bulbasaur a couple of weeks back when he was routinely walking through Viridian Forest. With any luck he’d be able to catch up to it later. Nate looked a little confused when Andrew unclipped the Zubat ball and went dashing off into the long grass towards the trees. Nate looked in the general direction and could see something moving in front of Andrew. He skidded to a halt several metres away from the little green bug with a sly smirk before launching his Pokéball. The red light materialised to reveal Zubat. The Caterpie eyed the flying blue creature curiously and then started shooting string at it with apparent anger. “Alright Zoobsy, give it a taste of Supersonic.” Andrew spoke calmly. The following sound that echoed at the Caterpie made it flail around in discomfort. Suitably confident that the little bug was confused Zubat flew in for a tackle that sent the Caterpie flying. Before it could hit the floor or anything else that would cause it further damaged it collided with a little red and white ball and then fell to the floor. Andrew smirked blissfully at his excellent shot and then picked the ball up and clipped it to his belt. Nate appeared just behind him with his arms crossed and a raised brow. “Nice little green bug you’ve got there.” He finally spoke up. “Yeah it’s good, nothing like yours though.” Andrew continued to smirk at his brother, while Nate’s thoughts were dragged back to his Scyther. Jonas and Swinub caught up with Demetri and company soon after, accomplishing sub-par acrobatics to avoid stepping on the Bug Pokemon bodies littered acoss the field. Jonas and Swinub soon met Demetri, inhaling deeply as well. "Why... in the world... did you run so fast?" Jonas managed to spit out. Demetri's smile had vanished, however, when he and Jonas had heard a loud humming from the treetops. Demetri's Pidgey came down from the trees and Larvitar stood close to his trainer. Swinub stayed atop Jonas' head. After massive buzzing, a half-dozen Beedrill came swooping down from the trees above, hovering over the ground that the two trainers stood on. Demetri cursed under his breath before looking at Jonas. "I'm... gonna need some help... please." Demetri's fear was slowly returning. "Remember what we talked about." Jonas said confidently while setting his Swinub down on the ground as well. Demetri looked as if he lost a shade of color, knowing that the attack by the Beedrill could've taken him out. "Pull it together!" Jonas yelled at Demetri. "Small talk's over! Let's show the bug who's boss, remember?!" "Um...Right." Demetri said, getting up to stand beside his Pokemon. Pidgey and Larvitar seemed to understand what Demetri was going through, his getting up though he was afraid boosted their own confidence and power. The Beedrill, all at once, attacked." "Larvitar! Use a gust of air to blow 'em away!" Larvitar, inhaling deeply, emitted a screech that was as powerful as his appetite. The chilling sound waves hit all of the Beedrill - save the leader - drastically knocking down their defense but not stopping their advancements. Pidgey soon rectified the problem, however, by blowing a gust of wind with it's wings so strong while hovering that all of the Beedrill flew away onto tree trunks, knocking them out. Pidgey and Larvitar sang in victory. The threat was not over though. The lead Beedrill, who had avoided Larvitar and Pidgey's attacks, came down from the sky and gave both Pokemon a jab in the chest with it's hand barbs. *Twinneedle* Demetri's Pokedex rang in his pocket. Ellerby
Jonas glanced at the fallen dinosaur who was now in Demetri's arms. He could tell that deep down Demetri was starting to understand why people got so attached to their Pokemon. Quickly Jonas ordered Swinub to attack. "Swinub! Now!" he commanded. Without even getting off it's trainers head, Swinub let out a blast of snow at the enemy. This attack had such an impact that Swinub fell off of Jonas. Beedrill shook off the snow and flew down infront of Jonas' legs to see if Swinub was finished off. But unfortunately for Beedrill, Swinub was just fine. Jonas spread his legs apart and Swinub tackled Beedrill right out of the air. Beedrill reacted almost immediately and attempted to fly away, only to find its wings frozen over. It seems as Swinub had blasted some snow on its wings during the take down. This left the bee opponent on its legs only, giving Swinub an advantage. Once again Swinub dove at the enemy head first. This obviously was predicted by the Beedrill, though and it stepped to the side, jabbing the furry mammal with it's stinger. Poison sting. "Swinub!" Jonas yelled in fear. But Swinub got back up anyway and let out one final blast of snow, sending the Beedrill into a nearby tree. Swinub and Jonas cheered at their victory. But too soon. Falling out of the tree, a yellow Pokemon hit the ground hard. But it wasn't Beedrill. It was a Pikachu. And it was dead. A victim of the swarm of Beedrill's, no doubt. "Oh my god..." stuttered Jonas, falling to his knees. The usually friendly looking Pokemon was obviously long gone. Only a few seconds after the Pikachu had fallen, another one dropped out of the tree. Still alive. Demetri and Jonas watched in horror as the living Pikachu mourned the death of its lover. It lay ontop of the deceased female and just as it was about to get up, it stopped moving. For almost an hour, Jonas and Demetri sat and watched. Two Pokemon. Dead. And Jonas blamed himself for it. He's the one who scared the Beedrill in swarming the area. It wasn't natural and the caused the death of two Pikachu. Finally, Demetri placed his hand on Jonas' shoulder and nodded his head. "Let's go." he whispered. Jonas shook his head and ran at the bodies. When he touched them, he swore they evaporated into a thousand little sparkles and floated away. Maybe this was just Jonas' imagination, but after he wiped his eyes a bit to make sure it was real, the bodies were definitely gone. Sparkles or no sparkles. Looking up at the sky, Jonas noticed something on a tree branch in the tree the Pikachu had fallen out of. An yellow and black egg. He reached up with his hand and grabbed it. He stared at it blankly for a bit and finally placed it in his side pack for safe keeping. "Now," he said, wiping a tear. "We can go."
Akieen Cloud
Axure looked up at Ronyo and smiled as he looked at her for an answer that he surely thought she had. "Not a clue, I've never been out of Pallet." He blinked at her disbielieveingly. "Your jokeing right?" She blushed and shook her head. "No...I'm not." She looked up at him and smiled. "So I suppose you should tell me." "Well, we have to go through the forest here soon, we should probably stock up for that." she nodded and led the way out, bouncing over to the Pokestore next door she bounded up to the door and went inside and began to look around the store holding things up in Ronyo's face that they didn't really need but she thought they were interesting anyway. "You know, you act like a little kid Azure." "Keeps me young and feeling good! You should try it!" She was bent over looking at a diffrent selection of Pokeballs. "Um, thats alright, I'll pass." "You know the leading cause of death is heart attack and stroke?" "I do now." "Well there ya go!" She dropped a bunch of supplies onto the counter and giggled as Ronyo's eyes got wide. "Can you afford all that?" "My mom gave me some money before I left." He shook his head as she began to put it all away in her pack and bounced back out with Cyndaquill right behind her.
sakazaki
I've got a new friend...my new Eevee... Now, should I stop being a Pokemon trainer just because I may not know what lies ahead of me? No! I promised Eevee that I will let him out soon, and will continue our journey with laughter and joy... Sigurd ran towards the bag pack and took the one with his name on it. He can't wait to start his new life together with his new friend. He ran outside and tossed the Pokeball up at the same time. "Come out, Eevee!" The Pokeball returns to Sigurd's hands and Eevee was seen in the air, landing down effortlessly. Eevee ran towards Sigurd happily. Sigurd crouched and held him in his arms, hugging his new friend. "Haha, you seem very happy Eevee... I'm sure you can't wait to start our journey, right?" "Eeveeee~~" "Yeah, I can't wait to start either. But first, let's try to make more friends first, okay? It?ll be much more safer that way." Sigurd is still holding Eevee in his arms. Together they went down the path to Viridian City. Time: 6.34p.m Location: Nearby Viridian City?s Pokemon Centre ?Hello. This is the Pokemon Centre, and I am Nurse Joy. Nice to meet you.? That must be her pokemon, a Cyndaquil? The Cyndaquil gave a raised up its hand, giving Sigurd and Eevee a warm welcome. ?Oh yes, this is my Cyndaquil.? Eevee gave Azure?s Cyndaquil a big smile and hopped out of Sigurd?s arm to play with her Cyndaquil. He noticed that the guy that was sitting in front of Azure was trying to say something. ?You can call me Ronyo and this is my Houndour, Anubis.? ?Nice to meet you Ronyo? and Anubis? Hehe?? Sigurd looked at his Eevee and then looked back at the two new people that he just met: Azure and Ronyo. ?Well, I was just wondering if you let me tag along in your group?? Silence. After a short while, Azure broke the silence with a reply: ?Sure why not? The more the merrier?^^? ?I couldn?t agree more either.? ?Great, thanks! AngryBarista
Miku's second day...how far behind is this girl? Miku and Sakura had arrived at Viridian City the night before, but being lovers of all things natural, the partners decided to sleep on the outskirts of the city amongst the trees. And although they managed to avoid the hustle and bustle of Viridian's nightlife, it still made for a restless night. And one other thing: No wake up call... 12 Noon - the same day everyone else seemed to be leaving for Viridian Forest [still Miku's second day] Luckily, Miku did get woken up, albiet to the sounds of the city's ongoings and some sort of a commotion to the south. "Mmm...wha?!" she half-said half-snored, then rolled out of the tree she had slept in, landing face-first in the dirt. Getting up, she dusted herself off - a semi-counterproductive activity since she was covered in a filthy mess from head to toe anyway - and ate an apple to help wake up. "What a ruckus...wonder why people bother with cities eh Sakura?" she mumbled absent mindedly, grinning to herself through a half-chewed mouthful of apple. "Sakura?" The Cherinbo was nowhere to be seen. "Sakura!" Miku began to worry. It had not even been a full day since the two started out and already the poor greenie girl had lost her pokemon. What made matters worse was that they were just outside a large city, and neither of them had ever been outside of Pallet Town, with the exception of where Sakura had been taken from the wild back in Shin'ou for researh/conservational issues. What if the tiny grass-pokemon, a rare sight in Kanto, had been kidnapped? Then things took a turn for the worse. "Hey, check it out! A wild Cherinbo!" "Just outside Viridian? No way!" "CHERINBO, the Cherry Pokemon..." "Wait your Pokedex says it ain't wild." "Well where's the trainer? I'll battle him for it!" Voices came from just out on the main road into Viridian City, so Miku dropped all her things and bolted for the direction of what sounded like two juvenille trainers. "Sakura! There you are I was so worried!" Miku almost cried. Then she straightened herself up and set her mind into evergreen-overdrive. These kids needed a lesson in caring for nature. "That your Cherinbo?" asked one of the boys, who looked no older than 15. When she didn't answer the other boy stepped forward, he looked about the same age. "Hey my friend asked you a question!" They each pulled out a pokeball threatenningly. "No, she's not my Cherinbo, she's my partner, Sakura" came Miku's defiant response at last, "and you two need a lesson in the treatment of pokemon!" Both of the trainers smirked, then threw their pokeballs, releasing Sakura's opponents-to-be. Zubat and Venonat...crap...I think we have a type disadvantage... moaned Miku to herself, thinking things through. "Sakura, are you ready? This is our first official battle against other trainers..." The seedling simply stood in place, defiant as her trainer - more sure of herself though. "Hah! Your first real battle?" "Alright we'll go easy on you then!" the kids laughed. "Venonat, Foresight!" "Zubat, Leech Life!" Using them as tools... "Sakura, be quick on your feet, the sun is strong, use it to your advantage" Miku felt more confident in simply speaking to her pokemon partner rather than giving direct orders like other trainers did these days. The Venonat seemed to have found Sakura efficiently enough, and was launching an all out tackle, whilst the Zubat was zipping in from side to side, trying to find the perfect spot to attack; Sakura simply waited, glowing orange as it had the day before. You have to move Sakura... Miku thought, and just as she did, her Cherinbo bounced backwards out of the way of the incoming pokemon. The two collided, their attacks hitting one another instead of the pink target. "What? No!" "How'd you? That's not fair!" "Venonat!" "Zubat!" "Get up!" the two boys shouted in unison. It was too late, Sakura had just fired two tiny seeds, one for each opponent. Vines were sprouting and entangling the bat and bug, and began to glow green. "You can perform a Leech Seed..." Miku murmered to no-one in particular. "It's over guys, now just remember that Mother Nature gets you back for trying to take away her children. There's nothing more dangerous than a mother trying to find her child - and no one takes motherhood more seriously than Nature herself." With that Miku turned and left to find her things, Sakura close behind. Early Afternoon "Well Sakura, I think today's been quite productive so far, don't you?" the trainer asked her pokemon, pulling out the Hortidex [or Horticulture-dex for those that havent picked that up] to note down the state of the environment bordering the south-east side of Viridian. Sakura ran around in circles happily in reply. As Miku began packing up her things, that had somehow managed to find their way out of her bag and all around the bottom of the tree the pair had slept in, she noticed something. She was missing a pokeball. "I've already lost a pokeball? Well, it is a manmade invention used to cage and tame wild creatures...I suppose it doesnt really matter" she said aloud, getting up and scanning the area nonetheless. "Cherirrii~!" Miku looked up where Sakura was pointing her leaf, and saw the missing pokeball stuck in the tree, or on it rather, covered in a thick yellow goo. She reached up, pulling the ball free of the adhesive, sniffed it, then licked it. "Honey!" she cried with a laugh. "Cheriri~!" it almost seemed like Sakura was trying to say something. "Yes, honey Sakura, it's hon-ney" intoned Miku. Little did she know, Sakura was trying to tell her that it had persuaded a Mitsuhoney to join the pair.

The lullaby put Demetri to sleep instantly, and after awakening, he found that his rations were gone.* Not this time however... "Pidgey, blow that Jigglypuff as far away as you can!" Pidgey obeyed, flapping it's wings at such a high rate of speed that the singing Pokemon was sent flying away into the sky. the Pidgey, happy that Demetri was using it so much due to the K.O. of Larvitar, flew back to Demetri where it perched back on his left shoulder. Jonas noticed and analyzed Demetri's actions, seeing that he was slowly developing a friendship with his Pokemon. He decided not to ruin the moment though as they kept running. "Look!" Demetri yelled. "Pallet's Pokemon Center!" The two trainers finally slowed down to a walk and caught their breath. They hadn't run as far as they had when they were in Viridian Forest but the lack of oxygen told them otherwise. Still, Demetri pushed foward to the Center to get his Pokemon checked out. He entered the building, Jonas trailing behind him, looking at Nurse Joy standing right in front of them. "...Nurse Joy??" Demetri and Jonas thought in shock. Their faces looked puzzled, Nurse Joy picking up on what they were thinking as if she had answered the question a million times. "I'm Viridian's Nurse Joy's distant cousin." Jonas and Demetri were silent for a moment, Demetri then remembering that Larvitar - beginning to get heavier as his strength decreased - was in his arms. "Oh!" Demetri yelped. "Can you please help my Larvitar?!" He tried to lift the Pokemon up to her but his strength was failing. Nurse Joy finally took Larvitar's 160 pounds from Demetri just before he thought that Larvitar would be dropped. A sigh of relief escaped Demetri's mouth. "... Also, can you check up on my Pidgey and my companion's Swinub? We had to fight a group of Beedrill to get here." "Of course." Nurse Joy said. She also took the Pokemon egg that Jonas had pulled out and began to examine. Jonas allowed it, knowing her intentions were good. "And will you be staying the night as well?" Nurse Joy continued. "What?" Was Jonas and Demetri's reply. They both turned around and looked out the Pokemon Center's door; the sun had just dissapeared beneath the forest they had just come out of, nightfall approaching quick. "We had no idea that nightfall was approaching so fast." Jonas said. "We were too busy trying to get out of the forest." "I understand." Nurse Joy said with a smile. "A lot of trainers get tunnel vision and continue on their objectives without food, water or shelter." Nurse Joy's smile slightly vanished though, telling the two trainers an important fact. "But tunnel vision, if you're not careful, could get trainers killed. Be aware of your surroundings - even daylight - at all times." The two trainers nodded. "Great." Nurse Joy handed back Demetri two Pokeballs and Jonas' one plus the egg. "You're Pokemon were revived and fully healed. Also the Pokemon egg is in tip-top shape. I'll get you two a room ready to crash for the night. Do any of you have any questions beforehand?" Nurse Joy said as she exited, motioning the two boys to follow. "I have one." Jonas spoke. "What can you tell us about the Gym leader here in Pewter City?" "...You'll have to figure that out when you enter the Gym in the morning." Nurse Joy said with a smile. "I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise." Nurse Joy went behind the building and unlocked the door behind the Pokecenter, allowing the two boys to enter. "...Oh! I have a question as well." Demetri said aloud, looking at Nurse Joy. "What is it?" Nurse Joy asked. Demetri whispered into Nurse Joy's ear, Nurse Joy giggling at the question. She then whispered into Demetri's ear with her response, Demetri looking shocked. "That's all?" Demetri said looking at Nurse Joy again. "That's it." Nurse Joy said happily. "Well thank you so much for that." Demetri said, going into the room with a puzzled Jonas and Swinub. They felt like a third wheel after the 'secret' question. "Good night boys. And good luck tomorrow." "Thank you Nurse Joy." The two boys said. Nurse Joy put an 'Occupied' sign on the doorknob, so no one else would crash in. She then closed the door. "...So, what was the whispering about." Jonas asked. "...Well... i'm not gonna go into detail, but..." "But what?" "Well... at least now I know how to tell if a Pokemon's a boy or a girl now. My Larvitar is a boy and my Pidgey is a girl." "You never knew how to tell?!" Jonas said shocked. "...I never cared to know." Demetri said solemnly. Jonas laughed at Demetri who soon turned off the light to the room. "I knew I should'nt have told you." Demetri said with a light smile.
GuyYouMetOnline
"Man, this place is in bad shape," Aesera remarked as she and Absol stood in front of the Viridian City Gym, or at least what had been the Gym. The building was in rather poor shape, and wouldn't be suitable for much of anything in its current condition. There were signs that someone was living in the building, which wasn't surprising. It wasn't being used for anything, but it was more or less intact, and thus ideal for homeless people. "I guess we'er not getting a badge here," Aesera said to Absol. "Not for a while, at least. Well, let's move on. We can get badges elsewhere. We'll start in Pewter City. Come on, let's go." With Absol back in its Pokeball, Aesera made her way out of Veridian City, heading for Pewter. It wasn't long before she reached Veridian Forest. This could be nasty, she thought. Lots of bug-types in here, and dark-types are weak against bug-types. We'll have to be careful. As she made her way through the forest, Aesera did her best to avoid angering any wild Pokemon. She knew how unlikely it was that she'd make it through the forest without having to fight, but she wanted to get into as few battles as possible. And she managed to go for a while before one occured. Aesera's opponent was a Butterfree. She didn't know why it was mad at her until she spotted a couple small Caterpie nearby. It thinks I'm a threat to its young, she realized. I don't think it'll let me by without a fight. Well, I guess there's no choice. Time to do this. Aesera released Absol. "All right, Absol," she said, "be careful. Oh, and don't hurt it too much. It does have its young to look after. Now, let's do this." Absol leapt into the air and attempted to slash Butterfree, but Butterfree evaded the attack. Subsequent attempts on Absol's part didn't get better results. "It's too quick for the direct approach," Aesera said. "We'll need to think of something else." Butterfree began to charge towards Absol, but pulled up before Absol could attack it. Instead of finishing its charge, Butterfree flew over Absol and sprinkled its poisonous powder. Absol was to quick for it, though, and managed to avoid the powder. Butterfree tried again with different varieties of powder but didnt't get any better results. This is getting old, and fast, Aesera thought. We've got to think of something. And then she had it. She called Absol over to her. "Use the trees," she told it. "When it flies over you to sprinkle its powder, leap out of the way and rebound off a tree." Absol gave a nod, then charged back into battle. Aesera's plan worked quite well. Butterfree flew over Absol as predicted and began to sprinkle powder. Absol leapt out of the way and towards a thick tree. Instead of just impacting the tree, Absol spun in midair and pushed off the tree, heading straight for butterfree. Butterfree was taken by surprise, and didn't react in time to avoid Absol's attack. Absol tackled Butterfree to the ground, and Butterfree, realizing that it was beat, didn't even try to retaliate. "Good job, Absol," Aesera said, recalling the Pokemon to its Pokeball. "Can I pass now?" she asked the Butterfree rhetorically as she walked by. Well, that went rather well, she thought. Hopefully we'll do just as well throughout the rest of the forest. Aesera was still in the forest as the sun was going down, but she wasn't too far from the end of it, so she kept going. The journey hadn't been too hard. There had been a couple other encounters with wild Pokemon, but nothing too hard, though that one Yanma had simply refused to give up. It hadn't done well offensively, but it had taken quite a beating before finally giving up. Before long, the forest began thinning out. Aesera could see Pewter in the distance, but it was far enough away that she didn't feel like going for it tonight. So she set up camp at the edge of the forest, had some food, and went to sleep.
