Ozymandius Jones
The kickoff of NaNoWriMo is a mere 4 days away! For those of you who don't know, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month, where crazy people (such as myself) attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in the space of a month. (Namely, November.) This will be my first year trying this, so I'm excited. Is anyone else attempting this this year?
AngryBarista
I attempted to try it last year, but procrastinated and didn't: A) Start; and B) Sign up for it...^^; Maybe this year will be different...
kalon
I do believe I will try, but I haven't made up my mind. I'd better figure it out quickly. My main problem is that I'm already working on my own novel, and I'm horribly pressed for free time already, so the projects conflict. If I do participate, it will most likely be a slightly plotless side-story to my current novel, something more in terms of character development than deep and intricate plots. Chikara Kokoro
Last year I tried to create a NaNoWriMo novel. During the third week- with over 30,000 words written- I decided that my novel was boring, and I stopped. I would suggest getting friends to write along with you if at all possible. It seems like having someone to talk to about what you go through while noveling, not to mention a little friendly competition, would be a great motivator. As for this year, NaNoWriMo seems like an imposibility in terms of free time, but that didn't stop me from trying last year.
Lady Asphyxia
You know what? Yes. I was so excited about it when I discovered it in December last year, and I decided I wanted to do it, then I forgot about it. But you reminded me, so yes, I will. Thanks Ozy. ^_^ [I have to go to the Gym -- now possibly the last time for a month, haha, but I'll let you know more of my thoughts soon]. Ezekiel
I'm still not sure of whether to do it or not. Like kalon, I'm already working on my novel and have two weeks of college tests starting in November. Also, I have no idea what to write about. We'll see, I've still got my little e-mail sitting in my Inbox. I'd love to hear updates from anyone who is going for this, though, it'll be really interesting.
Revelation
I've never heard of NaNoWriMo. This is the first time I've heard of it but it sound so interesting. I'm not sure if I'm going to do it though. I have only two days, three if you count today, to decide. Like 'Zeke, I'd love to hear more about this from anyone who's doing it. It may spark an interest.
Vicky
*Scratches chin* I think I might give it a shot, never heard of it before... but might as well. Unlike most people I've got loads of free time on my hands (because I have no life) so I guess it'd be a good time waster. Although if I really wanted to cheat I could just enter Dogarta which is around 50, 000 words or so ^_^ (nah, I won't, I'll play fair). ...Yeah, I'll give it a shot. Although I do tend to be really paranoid about these kind of things, mostly because I'm scared about being eaten alive by the better writers XD Which, of course, is ridiculous (I taste to bad to be eaten, lol).
2010DigitalBoy
Last year a friend of mine actually succeeded in doing this with a pretty good fantasy tale which i dont know if he ever finished. I tried... only lasted about 4 days XD Was having heart problems at the time >_> It was a story about government experiments in the bermuda triangle... didn't work out. Anyway, now that I'm more proficient and less weighed down, Ill assuredly try again! Good luck to all of you as well!
Lady Asphyxia
Since we've officially begun NaNoWriMo, how is everybody going? Me, I'm three days in and behind already. But it is completely not my fault, I swear. I was out of town on the 1st due to a funeral, and then because I'd gotten so run down getting to the funeral, I woke up on the 2nd sick as a dog. The third is going better, however, and I've bumped up my required words per day in order to make sure I get there. Hopefully I'll do good. Although I'm still sick and that's kind of tough to do. What's your current word count? At the moment, I'm 2 days in and on...800 words, which is kind of crap. I'd planned to have 3000+ by now, but, like I said, the best laid plans can be ruined. So, that's about it from me. How is everyone else going?
Vicky
Well, since I was away, I kinda lost track of things. But I did get something written. ... a lot written, actually.I told you, I have so much free time on my hands it's stupid. Didn't upload it yet but I've done on my smaller laptop 13, 490 words, or something like that. It's about 15 pages or so right now, I guess I got bored and had nothing to do at night time this weekend >_< I won't be adding anything else to it until I actually check the last few pages to see if I'm not just rambling like an idiot. I probably did ramble, just like I'm doing now. I think I won't get it finished though. Apparently, we got some tests in school this week. Nothing important, and I also remembered I'm going trekking up mountains next week. I seriously hope they have a plug socket on those mountains...
