C'mon, you guys knew this was coming. Especially from your resident shooter fan.
Anyway, what can I say? Plays great, looks great, sounds great. Enough said...however that would bring forth the mods so I'll elaborate.

If you haven't played the original Killzone, it was in first person and on the PS2 whereas this incarnation of the Killzone universe is at top-down isometric view of the whole battlefield, it's on the PSP and the gameplay takes the style of tactical gunplay over running and gunning. This is no stealth affair, though you're certainly welcome to try. The mechanics of the game are all about cover, then popping up and taking a couple pot-shots and then getting your head back down. The A.I. is particularly good, especially in the later stages when they actually start tossing grenades your way or start moving around to flank you with shotguns. The whole play style itself really puts some next-gen games to shame.

The graphical presentation is really smooth, with nice textures and over-all polish to the game and great character animations for every reload, every shot of your gun, the way your character and everyone around you runs, the way they throw grenades and so on so forth. Not to mention the inclusion of rag-doll physics! How cool is that! Not to say that there aren't any graphical hitches like the occasional twitching dead body or a limb getting clip through a barrier or something but it doesn't happen too often so it really doesn't detract from the whole experience.

The sound is what really captivates me about this game with re-used but re-mastered sounds from the original game thrown in with many, many new sounds. I sometimes sat there, with my headphones on, and just kinda listened and shot off my gun a few times just to see how cool it all sounded. Wind blowing, the engines of a Helghast drop ship whining as it came in low to drop off soldiers, the voice work, the sounds of the guns. It was all really engaging and it really did make me feel like I was there despite being on a two-inch screen.

Killzone: Liberation does have Multi-player over Ad-hoc but if you don't have 5 other people to play with then it's really kinda drawn out because the maps are just far too large. The multi-player plays identical to the single-player but against human players so it add that element of urgency and un-knowing. Many times I sat behind cover, trying to kill my friend and he'd flank me or go high and throw a grenade. It's really good despite being able to see where everyone is at all times because of the view.

Killzone: Liberation does have a Downloads section but it's not up and running yet and in that Downloads section they're supposed to have a free Infastructure download available when it is up and running, so I'll see you guys on the battlefield.

Well im not surprised no one has responded yet. I only played the demo for it. So far this game is actually pretty freaking sweet. Although i only got to play the very first part. i still had a blast. I really did feel like i was playing the ps2 killzone although it had a different look to it. The sounds were are still the same. I cant wait till i get a chance to buy that game. Its one of the few games that are on top of my i wanna buy a game list.
