On the large and busy island of Raia, all different kinds of animals flourished. They were widely respected and even worshipped by some people on this land. But unfortunately, fur traders, realtors, businessmen, poachers, and even pirates from other lands frequently attacked the villages of Raia, upsetting the civilians to widespread extremes. Some just kept praying for the people's safety, others wanted bitter revenge on the attackers, and yet others were somewhere in between.

Over time, the people of Raia discovered secret myths telling of pirates, of elves, of love and hate, of heroes... But the most appealing of myths to them were those of the dragons. Dragons were often described as "powerful fighting machines" or "trusty partners" or "graceful, magic-wielding creatures", or even "cute and cheerful healers". But whatever the people's opinions on these mythical creatures were, a selected few believed that the vast power of these dragons could put a halt to their attackers' efforts and at the same time provide great companionship for their people.

Fortunately, one of the shamans of the village told his people about a special ore that, when ground into powder and rubbed into the skin of any animal, would turn that animal into a dragon over time.

At this point, certain people who heard the shaman's story had decided that the ore needed to be found and brought back to the village. They would set off with a few different animals to be turned into dragons, and search for the ore in various places.

Unfortunately, the word might have spread to rivals outside of Raia which would try and steal the ore and use it for evil purposes...

Remember To stir that Potion ever few minutes and don't let it reach a boil Kredion! Yelled the old lady. Yes Misteress Gale.. kredion intoned as he contrected on keeping the viotile potion from boiling. Moving the liquid into a vial for the seeress's customers was a tricky task indeed however something that Kredion had gotten rather good at. As the Seeress talked to her customers a pair of nobles from the nearby castle Kredion half listened to the converation and added tiny amounts of the rocks and plants to make it smooth and gave it's redish tinge slowly draining the mixture into a container he gave it to the seeress and she sniffed it and gave him a simple nod as she always did letting him know he was dismissed. Heading into the back of the cottage he went over to his corner and grabbed his bag pulling on his boots and swinging his bag over his shoulder he stepped out the back door and was greeted by Kofu the Cragbeasts Soft Coonings reaching down he scratched behind the ear hole on him and headed off for the forest just outside of the clearing making his way past the snares and traps he checked for new growth on some of the plants and used the sticks he found to prop some smaller bushes up. Seeing some Wintergreen berries he picked them and gave a few to Kofu placing all but one into his bag to took the one and with two fingers he made a small hole in the dirt and planted the seed in the earth slowly he hummed and thanks the earth mother for her gift to her children and got up and walked away unseen to him that a small tendril of magic seeped into the berry and were it was planted a small leaf popped out of the ground. As he made his way into the village kredion counted Out his small pile of coins he had gained over the last few weeks he should have enough to finally get that scroll From Numair the merchant today before he left town for another season.

Ahh Kredion how good to see you again Boomed Numair. Hail Numair how fair thee on such a grand day said Kredion Formally. Ahh Kredion you warm my heart with such fine talk that i have taught yee now down to bone of things you have the money for the Scroll of Waloran? Numair asked. I have 4 Gold pieces and 31 Silver pieces and a few coppers is that enough? Kredion asked him. Yes laddy it is Give me 3 of your gold and 24 of those sliver and we will have this wrapped up for you in a jiffy lad. Numair said. Handing over the money Numair looked Kredion over and then leaned up close. Now laddie i have a way of hearing things now if i ain't mistaken is it not your birthing day tomarrow? Numair asked. Blushing Kredion Answered. Yes Numair it is however i feel silly even admitting it on such a sorrowful day such as tomarrow. Well laddie i have know you for a long time and i have made up my mind a certain matter that me and the seeress had agreed upon that on your 15th summer that you should get this from me. Handing a small Dagger and a Belt with some pouches. Here ye be with a trusty dagger to protect your self use it wisely and well be safe laddie Numair said as he ruffled Kredions hair before walking away.

Step out of the Town Inn he walked back for the forest with his new gift Tomarrow was the mark of his last year with the seeress and the last year of his apprenticeship at normal means however his relationship with the seeress was a odd one at that who knew when he was really finished.

OOC: Not to be picky, but could you at least use semi-proper punctuation? Your post was completely incoherent.

IC:

Roj looked around the streets of the small town he had suddenly found himself in. He had his hood pulled resolutely over his face, hiding his identity from all those around him. If he cared to, he could see the worried faces on the townspeople as he walked by, Fenris at his side.

A young woman looked at him warily. "I think that guy's a pirate..." she whispered to her friend. Roj turned his head to face her, and walked towards her. She was too frightened to run.

"I'm not a pirate..." his husky voice sounded. "I'm much worse than any pirate you'll ever see."

She said nothing, only stared blankly into his eyes, which were fixed on hers.

"Come, now, my volunteer. Show me around this accursed city before I become even more lost. What's your name?"

Maggie, Katea, and Asunan were sitting in their little underground home, just biding their time. The unnamed raven flew around the place, trying her best to amuse herself. It was dark down there, with the only light source being a small lantern in the center of the room. Asunan looked to be the liveliest of the group.
"Isn't it about time for you to go?" Katea said to Asunan.
"I suppose," Asunan stated, looking from Katea to Maggie. Maggie was holding a pansy and pulling the petals off one by one, muttering to herself while doing so. It wasn't until the flower was petal-free that Maggie looked at Asunan and spoke.
"It looks like you might have a troubling journey today."
"No, Maggie," Katea corrected, "That conflicts with the reading we all did. It said you were going to have smooth sailing at first, and meet lots of people as well."
"The smooth sailing doesn't have to be about today," Maggie added.
"Well..." Katea didn't know what to say.

Asunan checked around to see if she had all her things ready. Her backpack--check. Small bow and three arrows--check. Oh and speaking of backpack, Asunan also checked the bag's contents, however small the bag was. Inside were three little bottles of various substances--one held some sort of oil, one had a powder that could have been a sort of medicine, and the third contained a bright purple fluid and was sealed the most tightly out of the three. Also in the backpack was a smaller purple bag that didn't look like it held much, and another pouch that held money. Yes, everything was ready. All that was left for Asunan to grab before walking out was a big, heavy, pale blue cloak, for any colder weather that came asea.

Asunan walked over a few rocks, Katea's raven flying overhead.
"Maybe I'll call you Kateana, for now," Asunan said casually to the raven.
The rocks soon gave way to a beach, where a few people were already standing. Kateana immediately flew ahead to see who they were, then signaled to Asunan that they weren't pirates or anything. Asunan then followed, climbing down a not-too-steep cliff that lead down to the sand. Soon the journey would begin...

Nike smiled as the sudden gust of wind almost blew her off the mountain path.

"You guys better hold on! It's gonna get rough up ahead!"

Artemis, Hermes, and Ares struggled to fly against the wind with little success. Artemis's wing hit a dangling branch and she was blown off the mountain into the trees below.

"Artemis!"

Nike quickly tied a rope to a large rock and jumped down into the forest below. She landed in a ground role and untied the rope from her waist. Hermes and Ares were already on the trail of Artemis's sent when Nike landed.

"Hermes! Ares! Where are you?"

Three high pitched coo's echoed through the woods and Nike ran toward the sounds. When found the moogles two of them were huddled around the third one, sopeaking to it in there own language.

"Artemis are you ok?"

Artemis tried to move her wing but only pain surged through her body. Then she let out a quite wail and crawled into Nike's arms.

"It's ok girl...it looks like sprained wing. I'll fix it."

Nike took her green carrying bag off her back and took out some bandages from the front. Then she took a small twig to hold the wing in place and wrapped the wing carfully.

"There tht's better. Were only a few miles from the next town, lets go."

Artemis sat on Nike's shoulder as the others followed.

OOC: Well, I suppose it's good that I didn't make him have any telepathic conversations yet! That last bit of my last post was supposed to be a character opening, but since nobody has picked up on it yet, I suppose I'll just make an NPC.

IC:

"Malina..." the young woman said, delicately. "And we don't take kindly to strangers around here, so take you and your mutt and get out of here!"

Roj's face went from a weary grin to a scowl of incredible intensity. "Fine," he said, turning around. He walked a few steps, and then turned on his heel, and walked sternly towrds the girl again. He was inches away from her face. "I've heard plots to destroy this town. Pirate plots."

"I'm sure," Malina said sarcastically. "Even if you had, we have a strong enough militia to take on a force of over 100 men."

"Ah, good. Well, then it doesn't worry you that every pirate ship holds at least 100 men?" Roj said, playfully. He began to pace around her. "You know, I've heard that this town has many treasures. Much loot to be had, for sure. That kind of reputation would bring pirates from miles around."

Malina's voice was level, but somewhat unsure, "There are no pirates..."

"Fine. Goodbye, Miss Malina," Roj said, walking slowly out of town.

Malina was not sure how to react, but felt a worrisome need to alert the authorities.

------

Roj strode gently down the path to the beach just outside town, and stared at the sunset. "Fenris, scout the area for me, will you?" Roj said, looking the black hound in its red eyes. It panted in agreement, and bounded off into the sand, looking for life.

Roj closed his eyes gently, feeling the warm sea breeze caress his face. He took a deep breath of the salty air, and sighed. "What a boring place. I'm sure the pirates might improve it a little."

That was when he heard mad baying from Fenris, his signal that life had, indeed, been found. "What? the pirates aren't supposed to come until tommorrow..." he said as he stood up and chased the sound of Fenris' barking.

He looked up and saw a raven fly overhead. It seemed to eye him with scrutiny as it passed over his head and back to a figure up on the cliffs, who then began to descend the slope.

Roj smiled lightly, and went to welcome her.

Walking through the Forest back towards the Seeress's hut, Kredion found himself on a old deer path perhaps he thought he could track it and they would have some meat for dinner instead of one of the Seeress's nasty herb salads. Pulling a small dart from his pack Kredion Stalked down the trail until he saw the deer and slowly he snuck up on it pulling his arm back his muscles rippled from the energy that they would soon release and threw the dart with speed and accuracy of a born hunter as it plunged in to deers tender skin and dropped it to the gorund in shock it thrashed around until Kofu shot out of the bushes and landed on the beast grabbing it in his jaws and snaped it's neck. Kredion walked over to the kill pulling out a twine rope he had made eariler that day and with Kofu's help he dragged it back to the Seeress's hut.

As he skinned and Gutted the Deer he put the various pleases in a pot and closed the lid they could be used for potions and he didn't want to offend the Mother Spirit of the Earth Or as some of the people called her Gaia. Cutting the horns off he took the bones and dug a pit in the ground burying them in the rich soil. Pulling a smll bag of seeds out he pull a large corn kernal out and planted it in the ground whispering a prayer to the Earth mother Kredion asked that she forgive their need for meat and that she bless her Deer-Child. Getting up he walked to the back of the cottage grabbed some water from the well and Stripped down to his Loincloth Quickly washed himself in the brisk cold water and Quickly scrubed up washing off the blood and dirt and pulled his clothes back on and walked to the door.

Falcon looked around carefully; he had been attacked by a bear a day before and dropped his sword. He stuck out his arm and Silverwing landed, dropping his sword next to him. He tried to pick it up and stumbled on something else. A large tree root. Then whispered," check out the area, the bear might be back." Silverwing flew off. Falcon turned a little after taking his sword, and saw a town he had never been to. Too exited to notice a shadow was hiding behind the bushes.

?A few miles left, Silverwing. If you would like, you can sleep in my pack.? Silverwing let out a shrill cry. Falcon looked up and saw three different clouds in the symbol tattooed on his palm. Seven years earlier he marked it into his blood with an inked knife. It was the symbol the clouds were in when the village he lived in was attacked. He learned how to control his dark side just in time for the battle. Unfortunately there were only a handful of villagers left. Everywhere in the village was destroyed beyond repair. All the riches and treasures were stolen. It occurred to Falcon, just then, that the sign is from a god, trying to warn the people of, Pirates.

Fortunately the clouds weren?t close enough to resemble the symbol. That meant he had time! He could warn the village and be a hero. As soon as he realized this he ran as fast as he could to get to the village. Then he heard it, a roar that sounded like thunder. His instincts moved him left in a dodge movement. He knew that this wasn?t going to end well. The second his arm twitched, he whipped out his sword and ripped through whatever was chasing him with ease. And when he finally took time to see whatever it was. Yet he only saw it for a few seconds, then it vanished, leaving a large bag.

Falcon grabbed the bag and looked inside. Thankful for his curiosity he found some knives and a katana. Silverwing jumped out of his pack and went into the bag. Falcon only watched. Then the young bird brought out a blue gem. Falcon, not knowing what it was, grabbed it and saw a whole in his sword. A hole that fit the gem perfectly. He figured out that it was the family crest. Lost since his parent?s death during the raid.

Silverwing screeched, reminding Falcon about the town, and happily jumped back into his pack. This day was no ordinary day. He finally ran off in the direction of the town. Only to turn around once and notice a shadow darting into the clouds, the size of the monster he slew. Then he continued to the city.

The black cape fluttered in the breeze as the man moved along the path. A passing wagon kicked up a cloud of dust that circled around him as it was caught in the wind and cause him to pull the black hood farther over his face even though it already shrouded his features from people. It was growing closer to night and he needed to find a place to rest. As he walked along a large black panter suddenly came out of the shrubs carrying a small fawn in its mouth.

Jason kneeled down and took the fawn from its mouth then slung it over its shoulder. "You never fail me do you Jager?" He looked around and saw a path that lead throught eh forest. After following it for about an hour he came ou onto a beach where about half a mile down. He planted his halbred in the sand and pulled out his axe and walked back to the edge of the forest and felled a couple semi thick trees in a couple swings the preceded to drag them back and create a large bonfire that was in about a foot deep hole.

Jason skinned the deer and threw the pelt into the fire and as he took strips of meat and stuck sticks threw them. He angled the sticks over the fire, lit his pipe, then sat back as Jager sat next to him keeping a wayr eye on the man and woman talking further down the beach. "Stay Jager. Do not move even if they come over here"

OOC: I think this group is in desperate need of coming together...
IC:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hello," Roj greeted, just as Asunan leaped over the last rock and onto the sand below. "Trying to escape the pirates as well?"
"Now is not really the time for me to be concerned about them," Asunan answered. "My two friends have assigned themselves the task of protecting villages from the pirates. I was the one to set out looking for draconic ore. You heard of that legend, did you?"
Roj raised an eyebrow, and a gust of wind blew his hood off. "So you heard about it too."
"My plan was to set out on sea to find this ore, and I was originally going to be alone..." Asunan mentioned, "but judging by the crisis back in Hedrow--which I believe is the town I saw you coming from?--the pirate ships are well-armed and include many per crew. I kept getting ideas of having a bunch of people meet here for a group voyage to find the ore, but who would ever come...?"
Asunan looked hopefully towards Roj, awaiting some sort of response. Kateana and Fenris stood beside them.
Beyond anyone's notice, a peculiar being sat in a place below the very sand above which Roj and Asunan were talking. One would have to possess some sort of psychic sense to notice her, in fact. But anyways, she listened to the above conversation and understood that they were not pirates, and that they knew about the legendary draconic ore. She had the same goals as they did, in preventing the pirates from reaching the ore, but she could not do anything about it as she had neither a familiar (or any sort of animal companion) nor a body--she was just an amorphous spirit, a lost and silent being with secret wishes to help.
This spirit did see one opportunity for helping out those two people above, though. For one thing she happened to be gifted with was telepathy. Thus she started to focus, on what to say, and who to say it to--which mental properties the receiver of this message had to have. They had to be people who were not pirates, who knew about the draconic ore, whose names were not Roj or Asunan, who were specifically human (not animals), who are open to adventure. With that all set, the message was sent:
My friend, hopeful savior of this wondrous land of Raia, I call to offer to you the chance to be a hero. To go on a journey to find the draconic ore, to snatch it away from the pirates' grasp... and finally, to stop the pirates altogether. You may bring an animal companion with you--it is preferred, in fact. If you so accept, meet on the beach near the town of Hedrow, where you will find a man, woman, hound, and raven.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC: The spirit-thingy only exists now to send that message. She might come into play later on, but for now, nobody can notice her presence on the beach.

Nike frowned and feel to her knees.

I thought there was a village here. I must have taken a wrong turn or something.*

She lookede out across the layers of sand and acroos the water, then smiled.

*Well atleast it's pretty.*

A man walked out of the woods a few yards away and he had created a fire. She could smell fresh meat burning on the fire.

*Looks like this beach is occupied. I better sleep high tonight.*

Artemis, Hermes, and Ares all looked at her, with a hungry expresion on their faces.

"Fine. I'll go get some fish for you."

Nike smiled and grabbed a small dagger from her bag. She walked down the beach to the sea's edge and walked in about knee deep.

"I hate doing this."

She held the dagger tightly with one hand and dove into the water. A minute later she popped up with two decent sized fish on her dagger and soaking wet.

Her three companions jumped happily and stole the fish when she made it back.

"You guys are pigs. It's getting too dark. I can't fish anymore, so your going to have to do with what you got."

She grabbed her bag and walked back into the woods. With a few tries Nike was laying on a large branch, looking over the whole beach.

"Now this is nice. Don't you think?"

The three moogles nodded in agreement and huddled next to her falling asllep. Nike smiled and watched the people on the beach hesitantly.

*I'm not getting any sleep tonight.*

Aelita sat in her home looking at the ceiling. 'I think today I will go in search of the ore,' she thought as she put some things into a bag. Inside the bag was a few bottles of potions, some healing herbs, rope, money, some extra clothes, and a first aid kit just in case. And it was all kept in a bag that look so small but held so mcuh. She also brought along her magic staff which was given to her by her mother just before she died. Before she walked out the door, she grabbed a heavy cape and two smaller ones, for her wolves, just if it got a little nippy out.

She walked out of her house and into the town. Everyone asked where she was going and she tole them that she was going on a trip and won't be back for awhile. Aelita walked away from her home town and into the wilderness. "This is such a nice day. Don't you think so Hati? Skull?" she asked her two wolves who where very dear to her. They nodded in response. "Okay, now we are on our way to the beach which is just a few miles away but don't worry, we can make it before sun-down."

They walked for quit awhile and stopped to get some food. "Okay, Hati and Skull, you have just 3 minutes to get some food," she said as she sent them off. In about 3 minutes later, they came back with a buck and a doe in their mouths. "Great job you guys. Now all I will have to do is skin them and gut them." She quickly skinned them and gut them and made a fire with her magic and roasted the meat. After it was done cooking, they and were back on their way.

They just made it to the beach and saw two people there. She walked up to them and said,"Hey there. How are you?"

"I'm fine," said Roj.

"I'm fine too and you," said Asunan.

"I'm fine too," said Aelita. "Are you guys heading out for the dragonic ore? 'Cause I am."

"Yeah, we both are," said Roj.

"That's great! Now I will have some company. Oh, I should intorduce myself, I'm Aelita Sunset and these two are Hati and Skull," said Aelita.

Falcon raced to the town as quickly as possible, he had been trying to reach the town for 3 days now. On the second day he thought it was just a mirage but a local villager just got back. Now, he thought he should rest on a hill before dark.

Silverwing flew onto the smallest tree at the top of the hill and ate a squirrel he cought. Falcon took out his supplies, a sleeping bag, tinderbox, potions, a couple of daggers, and a map (to find pirate treasure). He noticed something at the cliff side of the hill, just a couple of people with their pets. Yet that was strange, it felt like he should be there. Then he remembered what he was supposed to do... "I can't believe I forgot the ore."

Falcon packed all his stuff and found a filled quiver and a bow. Then he slid down the less steep edge to greet the others.

As soon as he got there he nearly fell over a root. Then he stood still for a minute. The silence was eerie. Nobody had sponken since he barged in.

"Let me guess your here for the ore too?"said Roj

"Yea pretty much." Falcon replied,"silverwing get down here!."

"Hi I'm Asunan, who are you?"

"I'm Falcon. who are you two?

"Roj."

"Aelita."

"nice to meet you all." said Falcon

OOC: How very nice, now there's seven of us, with ten animal companions. Let's get going on our voyage!

**As for Kredion, SasukeUchiha321, PWNED, and Pterimon... Somehow you'd have to catch up with us, because we're setting off to sea now...
**Kredion, since you at least posted (and started this RPG), I'll just put your character on the ship with us...

Whatever the folks on the beach did that night, it all ended in a good night's rest. It was a calm night, free of pirates or any sort of harmful energies. Not even nearby villages such as Hedrow met any new problems. The fire that raged in Hedrow had long since calmed down, and not even smoke from the flames disturbed this calm and clear night.

The next morning, Falcon was the first to wake up, followed by Asunan, and Roj soon after. Not too long after, Nike, Jason, and Aelita were awake as well, as were all the animals that they brought with them. But unlike the late night before, this was not a calm morning. Some of the animals were either frightened or excited, and even some of the people were.
"Hey look!" Nike noticed as she pointed to something out at sea.

There, resting on the shore, was a ship. It didn't look at all like a pirate ship, and it didn't even have any flags on it. This probably meant that it belonged to no one. And indeed nobody was aboard it, quite strangely. It was especially strange because the ship was in good shape; it certainly didn't look like it had been shipwrecked. It was made of the finest quality wood--wood that was polished, even. It wasn't huge--it looked like it was room enough for ten or twenty passgeners. And the sails... they were dark red or blue in colour and looked as if they had never touched a drop of sea water. The whole ship really looked like it had never been occupied before--in fact it looked brand new.

A while later, Kateana and Silverwing flew over to check the ship out. Soon after, Kateana flew back to Asunan, holding a piece of paper in her beak.
"What is this...?" Asunan wondered as she took the paper from the raven. After opening the paper up, she saw it was a note!

"Dear Ore-Seekers,

Please feel free to use the magnificent ship displayed before you. She's been built to last, to take you far and wide... Journey across the sea to find the ore, but beware the pirates!

--An order of the divine

P.S. Anything you find in the ship is also yours."

"A gift from the divine...?" Asunan commented after reading the note out loud. "How interesting..."
"Well, you guys..." Asunan announced to the other five people on the beach, "do you think we should accept the offer?"

Glaime edged into the sparse shadows created by the cliffs as he watched the group on the beach examine the boat and question its appearance. He had been following the girl Asunan for a week now, ever since he had heard that she was trying to find the Dragon Ore.
"This has made my mission that much simpler" He whispered to himself as he begun to move towards the group, knowing that if he accompanied them then he could find the Dragon Ore to sell and support his families business.

He began to break into a jog as he drew closer and stopped just short of ploughing through the group.
Stopping for a moment to catch his breath, he walked behind Asunan and muttered to her "You're Asunan, correct?" and before she could answer he continued to say, "Certain benefactors wish for you to find the location of Dragon Ore."
By now everyone on the beach had turned to face Glaime, with most preparing to draw fight if need be. Glaime responded by raising both hands palm forwards, a sign of refusal to fight.
"Easy, I'm not here to fight,? he claimed, verbally defending himself while awaiting more questions ?I was hired to accompany you in finding the Dragon Ore. Names Glaime Vanseer, of the Vanseer merchant family? He then ceased to speak as he waited for the questions about his sudden appearance and how he knew about it.

OOC: Sorry for the lateness, I've just recently finished my VCE Exams and I'm just trying to get back into the zone.
