I was talking to Charlie the other day and I realized something...I love to dance. I want to learn every form that I can. Belly dancing, pole dancing, hip hop, mamba, salsa, etc are the ones I wish to learn. I wish to use my body to it's fullest potiental. If you have a great body, why not use it, right? There are times I wish to dance so bad that I can't help it. I start dancing where ever.

Are there any dancers 'round here? If so, what kind of dances that you know or would like to learn?

I do not really know all that much with how to use my body in dancing. My friend who is a dance instructor made me dizzy when I asked him what I should learn first. First of all, he mentions ballroom, ballroom!!! Heh, anyways, I did take a course in hip hop. I enjoyed it very much. I hated the music choice though. (Shaun Paul's first hit)
So what about you?

Well I don't think what I do can be called dancing, but I've been told I can dance my car around the cones at SCCA meets. Its cool you found something to fill your time with..and something you seem to care to learn extensively. But all I can really show you is a poor excuse for the electric slide and chicken dance....and the running man. Cant go without the infamous running man.

I used to be in the dance squad at my high school. It was pretty much just jazz and hip hop, but I haven't danced for years.

I always watch "So You Think You Can Dance?" and I love the choreography in that show! I'd like to learn hip hop and contemporary. I was going to enroll at the Dance Academy in town, but I haven't had the time.

Maybe next year I will sign up for it.

Dance is great! I love learning how to dance! I used to do classical ballet from the age 6~12. Then I did jazz/contemporary as one of my high school subjects. I learned a lot from that subject... I don't dance now... Well, it's more like I can't. I have hip, knee, and ankle problems that keep me from dancing... :animecry:

What I can advice isn't much, but here it is:
* Learn classical ballet - it's said to be the fundamentals of all dance types.
* Learn about the human body - about muscles, bones, warm up techniques, how to prevent injuries, and how to treat injuries.
* Have fun!

That's all I can think of now...
So, have fun dancing!!!!! :catgirl:

Lol, my first and only style of dance is Dance Dance Revolution. :p
Seriously though, my best friend took a ballroom dance class and loved it. Dance is really good for you too and it gives you more coordination and grace.

...Obviously, Eureka-chan can't dance to save her life. :animecry:

I really enjoy watching people who can dance, dance. And people who can't dance, dance. I envy people who know how to dance because I have no rhythm.

Ever went to a club and watched someone who obviously can NOT dance, go wild dancing their heart out? Just seeing a terrible dancer do a bunch of weird stuff by himself like he's some sort of queen butterfly was so entertaining and satisfying to me, I even wanted him to approach me and dance with me!

That movie called You've Got Served was terrible, but I kept replaying the dance battles. If I could learn any dance style, I guess I'd pick hip-hop, just because there's so much attitude! =P.

Guest Heero yuy
Back in the day, I used to breakdance. I would go down to the music room every lunch period and start breaking with friends. Oh, the highschool days. Other than that, I don't dance at all. Not unless, I'm just joking around.

I love to dance, but currently I'm on a hiatus from my Saturday belly dance class. I'll register for the next session in January.

Anyways, I know a bit of jazz, bhangra, ballet, West African dance and salsa. I took a jazz class a few years back, but the rest of the dances I learned in a dance course at my school. I love this course. Last year, we had an assignment to copy 30 seconds of dance moves from a music video. It doesn't sound like much, but it is alot. Then we had to dance to it first by using the song from the video, then the teacher but on an African song. It was alot of fun!

I also know a bit of dancehall. Some of those dances are crazy good, but other ones are like "Who in their right mind would think of that?!" Like this dance called 'the Dutty Wine.' I like the riddim that goes with the dance, but the dance itself is stupid. It even got banned because it was dangerous. I saw some videos on youtube with people going into walls and stuff, and here's an article about a person who supposedly died because of this dance! I used to be really really really good at dancing when I was younger. Then I got into karate and I couldn't afford the money and it would stress me to have those two extracurricular activities. I was the only 9-year-old in a class of 15-year-olds. I was two levels from the adult team but then I had to quit.

I used to do ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. It was so much fun! I miss it. I also did a little bit of ballroom dancing. If I could go back to dancing, I would be really good because karate has helped me with my foot work and hand to eye coordination along with flexibility.

I'm not a dancer. Definitely.
But I admire those who have this hability (or just want to have fun!). There is only one thing that I really dislike, that are those obscene "dances", like funk (Brazilian funk).
Talking about Brazil, if you want something to dance, try "samba". That's the rithym danced at Brazilian "Carnaval", and is it is worth to say "do you think you can dance?"
(But PLEASE, Brazil is not the land of Carnaval, naked women and soccer players.)

Oh wow...I'm starting to have dance offs with this guy I know whenever we're together now, but I can't dance... And neither can he... So it's not great. We spent at least a full minute spinning on the floor screaming once. I'm meeting up with him Friday, and I'm afraid we're going to have another dance off in McDonalds... It's gonna be a bad scene if I don't learn how to dance in four days.

But I must say, while I do indeed look intoxicated when I do anything that's supposed to be a dance, I at least have fun doing so. =)

I can dance to hip hop, salsa, merengue, bachata, reggeton, and there's another but I don't remember what it is! I would like to do belly dancing. I've tried it once but it was a bit hard for me. I love to dance its like the best in the world to me. I love to dance around with my friends and sometimes we hold contests. I also watch people who can't dance and some of my friends don't and I have to teach them. :animeswea

About the only dancing I ever learned to do was ballroom dancing, and even then that was because my girlfriend at the time thought it would be fun to take the class together. We?ve since broken up and other than the class; I haven?t tried any other forms of dance. It was fun doing it with her, but other than that I?ve never really cared for dancing.
