Lava Lamp
Lately, I have been listening quite a bit to a band named "Say Anything". Their songs are insulting, inappropriate, and very, very addicting. The first song I heard by them was "Wow, I Can Get
Sexual
Too" and from that moment on, I was hooked. Say Anything is originally from Los Angeles, California. The first two members of the band were Max Bemis (vocals) and Coby Linder (drums), but additional members are Jake Turner (guitar, vocals), Jeff Turner (guitar, vocals), Parker Case (keyboards, guitar, vocals). So, I was wondering, does anyone else on the OB have an obsession with them like me? Or am I all alone in my addiction?
Dragon Warrior
I'm, of course, fond of their biggest hit "Alive With the Glory Of Love." The beat is very catchy and I see them coming as the new band of the decade that has a bunch of catchy beats like the bands of old (such as Red Hot Chili Peppers or The Foofighters). Though they're not exactly the same genre, they still kick it just as well. I can say I like them, but I have yet to become too addicted.
Semjaza
I've been listening to them for a few years and got several other people here into them as well. I'm glad to see that the group is doing so well and look forward to the next album. Max is an incredibly talented guy. Despite needing someone to play drums on ...Is a Real Boy, every thing else on there (aside from the female vocals, obviously) was played by him. I think that's pretty impressive. Not to mention he's just an excellent writer. "Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too" is a good song. I think especially to anyone that uses the internet. I wound up having to rebuy that album, since that was on a bonus disc after they/he moved to a new (bigger) label. I have some of the older stuff too, but I don't think any of it is as impressive. He went into another level on ...Is a Real Boy.
DeadSeraphim
My ex got me into them, and they're pretty awesome. One of those bands you can hold up and say "Dammit, this is rock, no ifs, buts, maybes, or sub genres, just rock". Or at least I think so. My favourite song are probably an Orgy of Critics, followed by Admit It and Little Girls. I'd be interested to see what Max would've done if he could've made the epic rock opera he was planning for ...Is A Real Boy, though. The songs on it already are fantastic, rock opera would be a whole new level of awesome.
Goodbye, Face
I've been wanting to post in this thread for a while. XD I think the main draw of this band is their lyrics, which are completely out of the norm for a band of their style. I often find myself with "Woe" or "Alive With the Glory of Love" stuck in my head and singing it aloud in public. Every so often in a mall or at school someone nearby will chime in and we'd both have a blast, haha. Aside from that, their songs simply have an epic quality to them, they start off a certain way and then explode into a finale, generally. I really like that aspect to them. Also, like many of their fans, I cannot simply pick out a favorite song from the band. There's at least 15 that are tied for first, haha.
Guest Phaedrus
Max is a genius. Even their older stuff is damn good.
