Currently I'm especially interested in them because my friend and I are working on scripts based off of fairy tales in our Playwriting class, and we've been noticing how odd most of them are. It makes me wonder how many fairy tales were thought of by way of drug abuse. What are your favorite fairy tales/old stories, and what do you think about the relationship between them and drug use? My favorite would have to be Alice In Wonderland. I love the book, and the movie is decent. The Cheshire Cat really amuses me. This story was most likely created from a high produced by the painkiller laudanum. Personally, I also think that Carroll ate psychedelic mushrooms and possibly smoked cannabis. Either way though, Alice's Adventures In Wonderland is my favorite story of all time.
Cicatrice Du Adieu
I love Alice in Wonderland , too. Espeisially The cat. (You stole mine!!) And I defidently beleive it was a drug related story. Some fairy tales though could have been made up to explain the unknown like sea monsters, others could have just been created as stories like books today. If you like fairy tales might I recommend Tithe and Valiant by Holly Black.
