Cicatrice Du Adieu
Hi, poeple. In this thread I'd like to discuss inanimateobjects and what they signify to you. I know it sounds strange but we all have a specific object we adore. For me this would have to be the carousel horse and the music box. I like them because of theier mystery and beauty. They remain dark yet strangley innocent.
The13thMan
The pencil to me signifies creativity and possibility. You can write or draw anything with those little guys. What starts out as simple pencil lead can turn out to be bestselling novel, a mathematic break through, or an artistic masterpiece. The possibilities are limitless. And by that...i guess the pencil sharpener is what allows this all to happen, like...god! Pencil sharpener=god! I knew it! Then the eraser is your second chance? Yeah...
Mythologicly
My object would be my swords, weapons, books, and work out stuff i collect cause my swords and weapons hold secerets of the past while my books teach things that are both new and old. finally my work out stuff cause i find it amazing what the human body can do with a little motivation ( i love to work out). i know i wrote down more than one but i'm very indecesive. ( I hope i spelled that right.)
Claire
If dead trees count as inanimate objects, they might have to be my favorite. I love how desolate and cold they look, all thin and barren. AFI may have had something to do with this, but I really love winter imagery like that. There's a huge dead tree on the back of the US Connecticut quarter, and when I had one I didn't want to spend it. I also really like fallen leaves, jackolanterns, and Christmas lights, 'cos they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Cicatrice Du Adieu
Wow! Lots of objects, all with incredibally amazing explanations. I agree with all of them except the work out one. Yuck! I hate working out. I'm even failing PE. That's pathetic.
Ol' Fighter
Now this topic is "off the wall", but then again so am I. An inanimate object that I'm completly fascinated by is a perfect circle...it sounds dumb but let me explain why... Supposedly, everything in this world isn't perfect you know as in everything in this world isn't the same size in yet, when you make a circle from a supposedly perfectly measured tracer or something it looks perfect right, but here's my theory...if we can shrink ourselves to the supposedly exact size of a molecule and we look at the supposedly perfect circle it won't be a perfect circle and it will have some stray lines or something like that atleast. Now why it fascinates me so much is because I'll never know until technology finds a actual way to shrink that size...right? Oh and screw a microscope I want actual proof before my eyes. Cicatrice Du Adieu
that makes since. To be honest though, i hate perfect. To me I think there is more beauty in flaws. I think this because my dad lives the "perfect" life with a "perfect" wife, in a perfect house in a perfect neiborhood with perfect poeple and a perfect son. Every thing seems so fake so sereal. I feel like the glitch in stepford. What the **** is "perfect" anyway. If everyone has flaws dosen't that mke us perfect? But if perfect is having no flaws than it creates a parodox. But what are flaws? Supposedly imperfections, right? So perfect is a parodox... (I was reminded of those feelings when you said "Perfect" circle.Sorry)
Ol' Fighter
Lostvoice...welcome to the club of the "off the wall thinkers" of our century our numbers are greatly increasing. But most definatly, thinking about crap like what is supposedly perfect and what is supposedly flawed will drive you absolutly crazy especially if we go further into what is truely flawed and what is truely perfect...I'm telling you we may never know. Poeple are realy blind in the world today. I've never had problems seeing in fact that is my "Flaw" and my "perfection" . I see what others don't and they shun me for my differences in thoughts and philosophies. Perfection and flaw is just a new revelation.

Cicatrice Du Adieu
First we must destroy that Brainwashing Bush.( I'm a girl by the way). We cannot force the thoughts on them, though. They must open their eyes on their own. As much as it pains me to say it, the world will fall because of the blindness today . It will only get worse if the government and other large rulers like that feed us lies and since there is no other form of government than the lie-givers, the human race is sort of doomed . However 3% can rule them all so if 5% of the world's population was blessed with the "flaw" of sight than we could possibaly recruit, unite and rebel. Ol' Fighter
I was thinking that same exact thing we must get rid of that inanimate object known as "Bush" and his crazy ways of using the government to his every whim, then possibly we can spread the spores of ours and really open peoples' eyes. THE TRUTH WILL BE TOLD! And sorry for calling you a dude, I'm a dude of course haha.
Cicatrice Du Adieu
It's ok. I act like a dude. Evenmy name is spelled the way a guys would;Aaron. Yeah but think of it this way, a new leadr will come into power. will that leader be corrupt, too? Most of them are. And if hes even more corrupt... I dare not think what would happen under his or her rule(but i will before i fall or when i am sleeping :animeswea :D :p ). Reminds me of these lyrics. especially the ones italisized. dip my tail in blood ink Write it down in red Scribe the words "Happy meal" Right across your head Tired of getting walked on Treated like a sheep Don't blame me for all the years That you were asleep Relax God is in control Watch the dot Take your meds Obey my demands Trust my dog Time for surgery (Relax) God is in control Watch the dot Take your meds Obey my demands Trust my dog Shut your eyes your dead Televised mass poison Spitting at the screen Keep the masses deluded With fabricated dreams Powdered God in a bag From the Vatican I want you to **** off As hard as you can Heaven has burst open Now it's raining bones The chaos will erode you Breeding little clones 100% by angelspit. Ol' Fighter
Hopefully if I got this right an object is always moving because again if I got this right the atoms or electrons or whatever are constantly moving in order to form whatever the object is. And DeathKnight TOTWS (The Off The Wall Syndrome) is very contagious.
Cicatrice Du Adieu
Indeed, but also the earth and even the universe are all is always moveing and since we are in the earth we would be moveing. the only reason we call something stationary is because we can't see it moveing. Ol' Fighter
That's absolutly right, and if you ask me there are a few words in the many dictionaries that need to be either erased or corrected, but then agian if one wasn't really thinking about all the scientific facts about an object that isn't moving then you could casually get away with calling an object inanimate or stationary. I think youcan add or change words though. Like ain't. It was added to the dictionary. In fact several words are added to the dictionary yearly. If you got enough poeple to start realizeing that than you could probably change it.
Ol' Fighter
Yeah and when you think about it if you have enough support for anything almost you can achieve almost anything. Like Bush getting back into office.

Aaryanna
Hi, poeple. In this thread I'd like to discuss inanimateobjects and what they signify to you.
Ignoring all the comments in regards to whether or not something is truly inanimate I would have to say that the object that comes to mind for me is blankets. I love soft quilted blankets when I sleep at night, and when I curl up to read a book, watch a movie or play a video game, I love soft fuzzy blankets. I?m always driving my mom nuts since every time I see a new fuzzy or comfy blanket I want to get it. I don?t of course otherwise my room would be filled with nothing but blankets. The other object I think about is a book. I adore books and I?ve spend countless hours reading, going to the library to get more and then repeating the cycle. So I guess if I had my way my room would be full of both blankets and lots and lots of books. ^_^

Bleh...abstract. I prefer science...but i'll give it a shot. Is an object ever not in motion? Well...inactivity in itself is indeed an activity. To not do anything can be a greater gesture than doing anything. It says that you do not care enough to act. So...by not moving, you are... ? Yeaaahhh.... maybe i should stick to science and math, eh? ^J^
