Unearth

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Arlight, Unearth is a Hardcore/Metal band with a heavy style and a lot of non-throaty screaming. Despite being not very much my style at all, I actually think these guys rock pretty hard. I don't own any of their CDs but I'm considering it, so I'd like to hear some of yall's oppinions.

Giles is so far my favorite song by them. I like their catchy choruses and riffs.[/COLOR]

[font=arial][size=1]I dislike Unearth now, but I was a fan of them a few years ago. I've basically grown out of that metalcore phase that EVERYONE IN NORTH CAROLINA IS STILL IN and found my own tastes. Unearth is good at what they do, but what they do is cliche. I haven't heard their new album yet, but I'll probably check it out at some point.[/font][/size]

I disagree with Rifles about Unearth's originality. While they are a heavily emulated band, they've been doing what they've been doing for much longer than most who are doing it now.

I also like the direction they appear to be headed in. In essence: more metal than hardcore. Their new CD is definately worth checking out in my opinion.

You should skip the whole metalcore thing and go straight for the bands they're all ripping off: At the Gates, old-school In Flames, that kind of stuff.
