Favorite form of media?

[COLOR=DarkOrange]OB is a hub for all sorts of folks: Anime fanatics, TV-heads, Uber-gamers, Music-junkies, Bookworms and more. So my question is obvious - what's your favorite form of media? [B]RULES[/B] - tell [B]why[/B] it's your favorite, and if you want you can talk about multiple, or compare them all and pick a final answer.

[B]Music[/B]: Music comes in all styles and sounds from the underpracticed to the overwhelming, from soothing to enraging, and everywhere in-between. Personally i go for the heavier sounds, focusing on instrumental proficiency or interesting formatting. Music has a great influence on me and I like that I can do other things while enjoying music.

[B]Anime[/B]: I seperate anime from regular movies/TV/cartoons for multiple reasons. A: Unlike with live-action things, anything can happen in anime. B: while this is a bit of a generalization, anime covers a lot more ground than American cartoons. Anime feeds my love not only of good stories, but of flashy and unique forms of watching. I like to see interesting forms of animation or amazing battle scenes and flashy sequences. My preference resides in unique or thought-provoking shows.

[B]Movies[/B]: I am not all that big of a movie man as there are only a few movies which manage to tickle my fancy, but those few are pretty cool and movies are great for delivering an interesting plot in a short time.

[B]Video Games[/B]: Interactivity is a nice part in entertainment and video games do a great job of helping with such. While games span across many genres and styles, there are a lot of great games and a lot of bad ones (juged on interactibility). My favorite type of games are those in the RPG genre, namely ones with interesting and strange plots.

[B]Novels[/B]: Novels take storytelling to a deeper level than anime or games by truly immersing you in the story and can give you more information than the others. I am not so much into books, but the ones I do read are selective not by genre but by personal interest. I gravitate more to mind-benders but I don't like a story to get too preachy either.

Overall, my favorite form of media would have to be Music.[/COLOR]

My favorite media is music; life would just be fairly boring and empty without it. The most obvious reason, think of a movie like Jaws, it wouldn?t be anywhere near as dramatic without that classic sound when the shark is near.

After music, is video games, things like Zelda, Final Fantasy are a just fun to play. And computer games like Diablo II Lord of Destruction and a number of the Star Wars games as well. Especially the Star Wars ones, the music to those are awesome.

And finally I would have to say books. For the same reasons you have listed. They take you further into the story than a simple show or movie. Movies, television and other media of that nature have become too loaded with commercialization and the newest trend of previews on DVD?s that you can?t skip is pretty damn annoying.

Next would have to be anime which I am madly in love with. ^_^

I think my primary would be music, with video games being secondary.

Music can drive me crazy, Music can make me happy. I like humming my favourite tunes when I have nothing to do. Aww..I dunno, it just stick with me since day one. Plus sometimes you can kinda playback the tunes inside your thoughts and listen to it, instead of a mp3 player. :D But kinda weird tho, I'm not well acquainted with 'music' in 'general', as in who wrotes what song or what type of music does this etc belongs to. Whatever I came across, I'll hear it out, and if I like it, I'll take it. And I'm not into songs..what I like is the music itself. The tunes, the melody. But sometimes yea some songs did caught my attention (well, I kinda listened to the music first and have a look at the lyrics later) and ended up being one of my favourites.

Video games - Bah, the only reason I'm putting this in is coz playing vg has been one of my past time activities lately( FFXII, you own my soul!), and I'm lying to myself if I don't say so.
