DaSilva
Today I received some rather fantastic news. A good friend of mine's mom is getting married, and I'm invited. Apparently the guy she is marrying is good friends with Johnny Depp, and he is going to be the best man! Now I love me some Johnny (completely plutonic of course). I just wanted to know if any of you had ever met anyone famous.
inactive
Hmmm... I didn't actually meet anyone famous myself, but my aunt and uncle did meet Orlando Bloom while they were in the Bahamas. They were walking their dogs together. Well, they didn't even realize it was him right away, because he was wearing dark glasses. They mostly spoke to the fella he was with. But they said that it was probably for the best anyway, since they would've just said stuff like "Oh my daughter loves you!" sorta thing. Probably gets that all the time. :animeswea
Retribution
I shook Barack Obama's hand twice and had a conversation with him a few weeks back. My dad's a public official, so we got to talk to him after the speech he gave. He's a great guy (and a Columbia alum! It's where I'm headed for college next year!).

Possibly the only Shakespeare line I ever thought to memorize. Er, back on topic. I've never met anyone famous... but my sister goes to NYU and she's met several (i.e. JON STEWART, John Mayer). She's had a bazillion celebrity "sightings" like Jessica Alba, Meg Ryan, etc. She's met Orson Scott Card and Jonathan Safran Foer, too. Not celebrities, but they're cooler anyway.
Claire
I don't think they're celebrities, but when I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert in November, they sat out after the show and gave autographs and stuff. I shook several hands (Anna Phoebe, the violinist, is the only one I remember) and got my Ticketmaster paper signed by everyone who was there. Angus Clark, one of the guitarists, commented on my shirt ("AFI is a good band!") and gave me a guitar pick, which I use every time I play.
Allamorph
I live about twenty, twenty-five minutes from Little Richie. He shops at our Kroger pretty regularly. Honestly, though, I don't ever make a big deal about it. If I see him I just nod. I figure he doesn't need any extra crap in his day.
DeadSeraphim
I've not met any celebrities, but my friend Brenton had lunch with John Birmingham, who is a pretty awesome author we both love. The guy even paid for it, which was awesome of him (and provided Brenton boasting rights for months). Otherwise I live a pretty lowkey, celebrity-free life.
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Only celebrity, if you could even call him that I've ever met would be Peter Mayhew whom I met at a Star Wars convention in Dublin a few years ago. Nice guy, really polite as well as looking tall enough to make you feel like a midget.
TheShinje
I met Peter Jackson on our schools' train journey about 95 or 96. I remember he was directing The Frighteners at the time. It was my Dad who spotted him, I haven't ever been big on celeb spotting.
Magus
Man, I haven't met anyone really. Bill Cosby was at my church about 2 weeks ago, but I didn't meet him because it was for some event that I didn't partake in. When I was real young, I saw the old mayor of Detroit, Dennis Archer from a far distant, but never met him. I've also been to Joe Dumars Field House during a school trip, but guess what.... Joe Dumars wasn't there. At this rate I probably won't meet anyone, but "shrugs" I'd treat them like they're just a regular person anyway, so it's probably best that I don't meet any celebs.
Andy
Hmmm.....I met and shook hand's with Joe King one time. And if you don't know who he is, he won the Heisman trophy award for Alabama. He was like their tail-back or something. Anyway's, that's probably about as close as i've gotten to a celebrity meeting. Oh, and i've also talked with Christopher Sabat, he's the voice actor for Vegeta if you don't know who he is either. So, yeah, that's as about as close as i've come to meeting celebrities. :p
