RPG Super Smash Brothers Melee: Reunion [PG - V, possible L]

[FONT=Tahoma]OOC: Ikillion has informed me that he will be signing up as Pikachu following the completion of his finals sometime tomorrow. So I will be able to make an even 2 teams of 5. His match will be a chapter 2 fight so i can include him on a team right now and give him time to participate at the same time. Also I chose the team names based on colors because that's how it's done in the game, by all means use the underground thread to discuss a possible team name change if you want :P.

The last of the Melee forces arrived at Star Hill, each questioning to themselves and each other why they have been summoned like this. The Great Fox makes it's landing at last as the others turn to view the ship. [b]Falco[/b] steps out and affixes his laser blaster to his waist after a twirl.

[b]"Mario! What's going on here? What's this grave threat you've been going on about in these letters?"[/b] Falco asked, crossing his arms and giving the nintendo front man a glare.

[b]"We're about to find out."[/b] was his response, as something began to fall from the sky overlooking Star Hill. The shine from a blade was the first thing that came into view for the melee combatants, it was followed by the giant blade itself. It seemed like a sword, spanning the size of a large building. It's hilt had an intimidating demon like face embedded in it. Riding atop it, a barrel chested man with a luxurious looking white beard that covered the entirety of his collar. In his right hand, a giant blacksmith's hammer.

[b]"Smithy! You rotten scumbag! I thought we took care of you for good!"[/b] Bowser yelled, gritting his teeth.

[b][color=gray]"Haha! Yes, so you thought. It's good to see you Mario...and you too, lizard king. I'm glad to see you've arrived already. Though I was expecting more than this...it seems your allies could care less about what happens to their worlds!"[/color] Smithy said with a laugh.

[b]"Mario, who the heck is this guy?"[/b] Falco asked, with an unimpressed look on his face.

[b]"Smithy...the sword is Exor. Me, the princess, and Bowser fought him some tie ago! But he's back!"[/b] was Mario's answer.

[b]"Man...it's biiiig!"[/b] Kirby said, putting his puffy hands up to his eyes to block the glare of the starlight off the blade.

[b][color=gray]"Ha! If you are done, I'll explain to you why you are here. You remember my faithful ship Exor. Well, being the talented blacksmith that I am...I've decided to use up our long time of absence creating an army of them! Hahahaha!"[/b][/color]

[b]"There's...more than 1 of those things?"[/b] the soft voice of the Princess Zelda said.

[b][color=gray]Yes, and there is one for each of your worlds! Your refusal to participate, or in the event that you lose this tournament may result in some unfortunate circumstances befalling your precious homes! Hahaha, now if you would all be so kind as to listen up...I will announce your teams and the first matches to take place!"[/b] [/color]Smithy said, followed by more evil laughter.

[b]"Hmph, it would seem we have no choice."[/b] Lord Marth spoke.

After the ?representatives? had been divided into teams and given their first ?assignments?, Marth left the group to brood for a while.

[I][B]?Can this really be all?[/B][/I] he thought despondently. [I][B]?Was there no one else willing to come to the assistance of their common friend?[/B][/I] It was such a meager group that had assembled on Star Hill; out of twenty-four champions, only ten had answered the call.

Truthfully, Marth was more disappointed at the absence of his brother-in-arms. He had assumed that the Pheraean lord would come ? in fact, he had expected Roy to beat him here. The presence of the son of Eliwood and the powerful Sword of Seals that he bore would have been a comfort to Marth. He guessed that there must be a dire threat to Elibe indeed if Lord Roy had been prevented from coming. Marth refused to believe that Roy could have just chosen not to aid his friends?.

It didn?t matter. All that mattered now was to play the madman?s little game until it was possible to defeat him and save the Mushroom Kingdom, along with all the others.

Marth drew Falchion from its sheath and examined its tip. The sword was powerful enough to slay Dark Druids and dragons; surely it would be enough to overcome a pompous, oversized smithy with an ego complex. Marth snorted in amusement, grinning in spite of himself. It was decided, then. He wouldn?t worry about the people who weren?t here defending their worlds. He would fight for them, he would use his memories of them as impetus.

Link crossed his arms and sighed, his Hyrule shield and sword hanging behind his back on a leather strap. First, he was summoned to fight along side other warriors from different worlds in order to fend off the evil that was approching... and now he had to face them one on one. Link loved to fight good opponents, showing off his skill and letting them know that he wasn't one to be taken light of. But, since this was an Elimination Match... things were going to get pretty ruthless.

[B]"So... are you ready for this?"[/B] Zelda asked as she walked over to him, crossing her arms behind her back. Link looked at her, already wondering how she would fare against the robotic woman, Samus. Everyone was at their top form, practicing their skills and talking to old friends before they stepped into a portal to reveal their destiny. He didn't want her to fight, but she was just like him... wanting to prove her true strength and courage.

He sighed and looked at her, smiling lightly and holding her hand. [B]"You should know that I've been ready for this,"[/B] he said, winking at her, [B]"but I also want you to be careful... not everyone is going to go easy on the princess of Hyrule."[/B]

Zelda giggled and kissed him on the cheek, smiling. [B]"I may be a princess, but that doesn't mean I'm weak. Don't worry... you just take care of yourself and make sure you get to the final round along with me."[/B]

Link lightly laughed and sighed, nodding and getting his strength ready for the battle that was at hand.

[B]"Alright... all contestants into your portals to be teleported to your battle arena!"[/B] Smithy chimed, smashing his hammer into the ground to indicate the battles were starting.

Link looked at the portals and nodded, then giving Zelda one last kiss and hugging her close to him. [B]"Just remember,"[/B] he said to her softly, [B]"even if we both lose, you're still strong in my heart."[/B]

[B]"I know,"[/B] she smiled and hugged him tightly before they both walked into their portals, [B]"but let's show them how we fight in Hyrule."[/B]

They hugged one more time and waved as they both left into their portals, their minds now focused on the battle at hand.

Link fell to the world on the other side, landing gracefully on his feet. He remembered this world from so many other battles he summoned to, also remebering all to well what happens at random times.

[B]"Great,"[/B] he sighed, his hands on his hips, [B]"first world I get to fight in is Brinstar, my most least favorite battle arena."[/B]

Suddenly, he looked upward as he saw someone else falling down, landing a few feet away from him just as gracefully as he had landed.

Falco slowly stood up and crossed his arms on his chest, his blue eyes glowing with strength and his beak making a small smile.

[B]"So... I guess I get to face you in my first battle, eh, Link? How have you been?"[/B]

Link smirked and gave him an interesting look, straightening the creases in his light blue outfit. [B]"It's been awhile, Falco... hope you didn't get weaker as the days flew by."[/B] He then put his hands over his shoulders and grabbed his shield and sword, preparing for the fight that was about to begin.

Falco smirked and also got into his stance, his purple feathers lightly puffed up. [B]"Let's make this a good one, shall we?"[/B]

Link nodded. [B]"Indeed... I made a promise to someone special that I would meet them in the final round."[/B]

The two eyed each other and waited until the battle began, not allowing the other to become weak and get beaten so easily.[/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[COLOR=DimGray][FONT=Tahoma]Mario sat lazily on the ground with his legs spread out. He removed his hat and wiped some sweat from his brows. He sighed heavily and glanced around. Link and Falco had already left to fight.

"Mamma mia..." he grumbled. "Looks look I have to take on Mewtwo to get through here. I've just got to win. Bowser and I are the only ones who know how to defeat Smithy and if I know Bowser (which I do) he's probably forgotten."

Kirby waddled over to the plumber and plopped himself on his behind. He stared at the depressed jump man and poked him in the side.

"I'm going soon but... try not to be sad, [I]okay[/I]?" the pink marshmallow said cheerfully. He jumped to his feet and was about to walk away until Mario stopped him.

"Wait!" he yelped, standing on his feet. He took off his trademark hat and handed it to his comrade. "Bowser might be more intimidated if you're wearing this. Especially if you've got the fire balls on top of that. Swallow it and receive my power for the fight."

"Thanks!" cheered Kirby. He sucked up the hat and swallowed it whole. In about two seconds he turned completely white and then returned to his normal colour but with his own Mario hat on his head.

"Good luck." said Mario sternly. Kirby nodded and ran off.

[i]Time for my own battle.[/i] the red-clad hero thought to himself. Right after that he was transported onto an arena that was very familiar to him. Great Bay. At the other end of the stage stood a white and purple Pokemon meditating.

"Ready?" Mario shouted. Mewtwo opened his eyes, spun around and landed on his feet.

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]Kirby walked away from the red plumber with a newly aquired red hat on his head. The hat gave Kirby the power of fire and Mario said it would be wise to use the hat for the defeat of Bowser.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]Sure, it wasn't as tasty as a roast or a cake but it would do.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]'Mario's so nice, lending me his hat and all; I hope I don't let my team down during this fight.' the pink plush thought to himself. '...Man, now i'm hungry. I sure could fancy some strawberry shortcake right now.'[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]Strawberry shortcake was Kirby's #1 favorite food, though he and the shortcake were on 'touchy' terms; every time Kirby came across the particular type of dessert, he usually had to risk his life for it.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]Kirby went to his portal, meeting Bowser along his stroll. He had a gigantic pie in his hand and what looked like a smile on his lips - teeth exposed. As Bowser looked down at the small contender his smile evaporated upon noticing the red hat with the letter 'M'.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]"Why...you...low-down...dirty..." Bowser couldn't make out the rest of his sentence due to smoke emitting from his nostrils and small flames erupting from his mouth.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]'If i'd known that this hat would make Bowser so angry, I wouldn't've worn it.' Kirby thought. He then saw the pie in King Koopa's hand and spoke aloud for the sake of satisfying his stomach.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]"What type of pie is that?" Kirby asked in his high-pitched voice, totally neglecting Bowser's anger from the hat.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]Bowser, looking both angry and shocked from the question, looked at the pie himself. He'd totally forgotten that he had it for a moment.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]"Strawberry Shortcake." Bowser said. When he saw Kirby leap up in down in glee, his smile reappeared and thickened. "I bought it for you, Kirby."[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]"Can I have some?" Kirby asked, half day-dreamily.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]"Oh, no you can't." The King of Koopas replied. "I had no idea you would surprise me with... Mario's hat. I was going to offer this pie as a truce between the two of us... but, seeing you with that memento has gone and made me change my mind."[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]Bowser opened his mouth and devoured the entire pie in one gulp. He then puffed out a massive flame eradicating any crumbs for the pink plush to scrounge up. Kirby was at a loss for words.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]"See ya on the other side." Bowser said, waving at his opponent before going into the portal leading to Venom in the Lylat system. Kirby stood there for a minute, utterly dumbstruck.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Palatino Linotype][size=2][color=gray]Kirby didn't notice that he screamed aloud; his eyes blazed red along with his, now, scarlet body. He couldn't believe that the strawberry shortcake had evaded him again, and that this time, it was gone. Kirby jumped through the portal in an outrage to avenge his favorite food.[/color][/size][/font]

[color=darkslategray]Falco and Link stared one another down until they simultaneously made their move. Charging in toward each other, Falco pulled out his laser blaster and took a few shots. Link blocked them with his shield but left him open for a jumping attack by Falco. Link tried to move his shield in time but was forced back, rolling toward the edge of the main platform. As the lava slowly yet steadily rose, Link looked down and brushed his brow of some minor sweat caused by the intense heat of the stage.

[b]"Come on "Hero of Hyrule" if we're being forced to duke it out you should atleast try and make it interesting!"[/b] Falco taunted, spinning his blaster around his finger. Link stood on his feet and readied his hand by the small of his back.

[b]"Alright then, have some of this!"[/b] Link yelled as he tossed his boomerang toward Falco, only to have it reflected back. Link, taking advnatage of the large gap between he and Falco, ran forward and jumped over the returning boomerang and extended his sword downward as he fell upon his opponent.

[b]"Gah! Hey, get your own tricks!"[/b] Falco said, jumping up to the middle left platform off a recovery.

[b]"They work just as well for me!"[/b] Link retorted, pulling out his bow. Link took a shot at Falco, as the swift bird jumped out of the way. A hail of arrows followed Falco as he made his way across the entire length of the board, avoiding each one. The lava rose even closer to the main platform now. Falco took notice and dashed forward from the right. Link readied his sword, but between them fell a pokéball; catching both competitor's eye.

Link dashed forward as well, it was not a race to get the pokéball. As they closed in, Falco fired a shot at Link's arm, forcing him to block the beam with his shield. Falco swooped in and grabbed the ball, takin advantage of the distraction he had created.

[b]"Ha! Now here comes the hurt, punk."[/b] Falco said confidently as he threw the ball down to the floor!

[color=orange][b]"Goldeen Goldeen!"[/b][/color]

Falco stood in amazement and slapped his forehead.

[b]"You gotta be kidding me! Stupid fish!"[/b] Falco yelled, attempting to shoot the innocent Goldeen with his laser blaster. Link took a moment to look behind him and noticed a wooden box. He grabbed it while Falco occupied himself with the futile annihilation of the water pokemon.

[b]"Head's up bird brain!"[/b] Link yelled, tossing the wooden box. Falco turned and looked up in time to get knocked in the head with the box. Out from the box spilled a beam sword, a motion sensor, and a fireflower. He rolled back and caught himself before reaching the edge. His tail feathers began to singe however from the level of the lava.

[b][i]'Yikes!'[/b][/i] Falco thought as he leaped up to the top platform. Link noticing as well leapt up after him, but not before grabbing hold of the beam sword. The lava engulfed the entire bottom platform seconds later as Falco stood opposite a dual wielding Link.

[b]"Well, that was close. But now you don't have many options for running!"[/b] Link said, crossing the two swords into an X shape in front of him. Falco just stood there and smirked.

[b]"Yeah, well neither do you. Your sword won't save you from this!"[/b] yelled the pompous arwing pilot, as he began to engulf himself in a protective fire. Link's eyes widened as he realized Falco was going for the Fire Bird move. Link, thinking quickly tossed the beam sword forward into Falco; only for it to bounce off and hit the floor as the flames took full form.

[b]"Too late!"[/b] Falco yelled as he charged forward ramming roughly into Link, sending him flying backward and up in the air. Link freefalled onto the middle left platform, feeling the intense heat from the lava only a couple of feet below him. Falco smiled confidently as another pokéball fell from the sky, landing before Falco's feet. Link stood and looked up at his opponent, now tossing the ball up and down in his own hand.

[b]"Ha, THIS time I promise you it won't be a stinken Goldeen!"[/b] Falco exclaimed, as he tossed it down to the ground.

Link adjusted his stance, he knew he needed to somehow get out of the Scizor's line of motion while keeping away from the lava beneathe him. Falco just looked on with a smug look.

[COLOR=Navy]Samus looked at Zelda from the corner of her eyes. She'd taken off her helmet when she had arrived at the Mushroom Kingdom to be somewhat polite to the other contestants. She wondered if Zelda's fighting style had changed much since the Melee tournament. People started to go through their portals; Falco and Link, followed by Mario and Mewtwo, then Kirby and Bowser. Samus pulled her helmet back on, securing it and sealing it to make it airtight; breathing through the circulating oxygen system installed inside.

She accessed her files through her power suit, reviewing fighting styles of each contestant. She had a great deal of faith in her team and thought that they could all win their battles. Samus was dead set on winning against Zelda, she just reminded herself to watch out for when she changed into Sheik.

Zelda was looking at her now and she did a few final checks to her power suit, making sure nothing was faulty that could make her lose the battle, though if worse came to worse she'd just abandon the suit and complete battle in her Zero Suit.

Not waiting for what Zelda did, Samus just nodded to Pikachu before she jumped through the portal without a care.

As she felt herself come out the other side of the portal she curled her body and rolled on impact, moving fluidly to her feet. Not long after she emerged, Zelda came through and the glowing portal disappeared, leaving them in their arena.

Samus sighed as she looked around. Mushroom Kingdom was one of her least favourite arenas to fight in, with her favourite being home, Planet Zebes.

[b]"I hope you put up a good fight, Princess."[/b] a hint of mocking evident in her voice.

[b]"I'm more worried for you actually."[/b] she replied carelessly.

[b]"Don't hold back."[/b] they said simultaeneously, smiling even though Samus' couldn't be seen.

She shifted her feet and her body into a fighting position, her arm cannon was aimed and ready. Zelda slowly moved into position too before they lunged at each other[/COLOR].

[B]OOC:[/B] Shocking post but wanted to get it in so Fight 1 at least [i]kinda[/i] started.

Fight Post#1[/SIZE][/CENTER][COLOR=Purple]"Hmph... I have to face a human?" said Mewtwo floating above the ground slightly while staring at the Red Hatted man stood before him. "This will be easier then I thought... Come on. Let's see if you are worth the trouble!!"

Mewtwo rushed at Mario and let looses a couple of psychic punches. Maro dodged and jumped on top of Mewtwo's head. Mewtwo turned and began to attack again.

"Not bad but you are still going down..." said Mewtwo.

After a bit of brawling and not seeming to get anywhere he began to charge up an energy in his left hand. He was somewhat impressed that a Human could keep up with him.

"Shadow Ball!!!" he yelled firing a ball of darkness at Mario that bounced it off of a cape Mario had.

Mewtwo already blown back from the force of the attack. He rose a shield that blew him into the water of Great Bay. A few seconds later he rose from the water.

"You have impressive powers... but you will never defeat me... Your only human..."[/COLOR]
