2010DigitalBoy
What is aparently a trend in Japan is Japanese Light Novels, breif but cool novels with lots of anime/manga influence and pictures. The only one I know of being available stateside is the Boogiepop series (my favorite series of all time), but Seven Seas Entertainment (who brought over Boogiepop) are planning on releasing a wave of Light Novels come April. I'm pretty excited about it, as I'm an anime nerd with a liking for books and a huge Boogiepop fan. Also Seven Seas always does a great translating job and has a lot of extra bonus material included with their releases. PLUS the novels are only gunna be 8 bucks! (I think they're gunna like really small, too) So, anyone else interested/uninterested/way ahead of me?
Dagger
Tokyopop has released a couple of light novels (with Kino no Tabi and Scrapped Princess being the most notable of them). If you like Boogiepop, you'd probably like Kino as well. A couple of BL light novels have also been released over here, although they tend to have awful translations. Now, if someone brought over Maria-sama ga Miteru or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I'd be interested. I can't say I'm that excited about any of the upcoming Seven Seas titles, though. I just hope they keep putting out more Boogiepop. ~Dagger~

I'd also love to see the Haruhi ovels over here and if aruhi really has been liscensed then things are looking up. Of the Seven Seas novels I'm most interested in Ballad of a Shinigami, and Gun Princess sounds pretty cool as well. I'll likely buy them both, regardless. *(im)patiently awaiting next boogiepop release*
Dagger
Yeah, the first Kino book is out. I think the second one is coming out in... February. Or maybe March. Anyway, reading your post made me realize that I have to eat my words about not being interested in Seven Seas' new series--I totally forgot that they have Ballad of a Shinigami. :animeswea ~Dagger~
