"I know how to make fire. We can stay warm." Angel scoffed and stormed away from the others. She stepped over fallen trees and branches until she ended up at a lake. She sat down and pulled her long, purple hair to the front of her body and started twirling her hair. "It'll be okay. It?ll be okay," Angel reassured herself in her head. ?My good friends are here. I?m happy that they?re here with me, especially Leon. He?s been my friend for a very long time, and I know he?ll protect me. He?s like my brother.? Just then, Angel heard a crack from behind her. She picked up a twig next to her, jumped up, and turned around. ?Who?s there?? she called out. ?You can calm down you know,? said a voice from behind the trees. It was Aaron. He stepped out from behind the trees and walked up to Angel. ?Hey I know that you?re stressed out about being here, and I just want you to know that me and Leon will protect you.? Angel turned to Aaron. ?Yeah, I know you guys will do that, but what if you?re not there? What if I?m about to be killed by a wild animal? What if-? ?Just calm down,? Aaron said again. He put his arms around Angel. ?Everything will be all right. I?ll always be here.? Angel put her arms around Aaron too. She felt safe in his arms.
 Kara sighed and replied "Whatever, if you really want to we can land somewhere and you can go find your little game." Marty smiled again as they landed. He hopped off and told her to go to a near by cave for a while. " So Angel, Aaaron, Arya .. where do you suppose we're at? " Leon looked each person in the face for a while, but received no reply. Either one was fine, preferably the hangover part. At about this time was when Aaron was hugging up on Angel, which was fine with Leon, besides that fact that it was weird to see the girl he treated as a sister to be held like that. This lake they were all gathered around was not a normal lake, or so it seemed. It was vast in size, going in every direction as far as the eye could see. It was a majestic tint of blue, as blue as Leon had ever seen. They were certainly not in Firestrike High anymore. Leon decided to test the water to see if it was salty, but it was thankfully fresh water. Imp
Arya glanced at Angel and Aaron without making a comment. Arya was usually the one to be ignored in the group, and certainly the least social of the bunch. Anyways, now Arya was walking back and forth between the lake and the trees behind it. She was holding a bunch of thin yet leafy branches in her hands, as many as she could carry. She walked slowly across the ground with these, until she came to the lake. When she did, she dropped the branches into the lake. Then she knelt down and started moving the branches around in the water. "Arya, what are you doing?" Leon asked. The branches had landed not too far from where he was swimming. "Washing these," Arya answered. "I figured these would nicely make mattresses or blankets--or who knows, we could even build a little fort with them. But I suppose if it's only for one night, then we shouldn't bother with the fort thing..." Arya took out a couple of the wet branches and lay them on a rock to dry. Then she went back to the lake to fetch the rest. "Let's just hope we don't get attacked by wolves or something at night," Leon commented. After all the branches were laid out on the rocks, Arya started arranging a bunch of sticks for a fire. By that time, Angel and Aaron had stopped hugging and were sitting down near the lake. When Arya was done with that, she walked over to one of the trees and picked up another leafy branch. However, unlike the others, this one was dry--as it hadn't been washed. Arya shook this branch to remove any dirt or bugs from it (or at least whatever she could) and set it down next to a tree. Then she sat down on the branch and put her purse on one end of it. "Now what are you doing?" Aaron asked Arya. "Taking a nap," she replied. "Yeah, I know it sounds silly... but I think it would be better for our survival. After all, we are vulnerable while we are all asleep. I just thought someone should be awake at night to kind of keep watch on things. If that's okay with you..." Arya lay down on the bed of leaves and draped the other side of the branch over her. Then she lay her head on her purse--at least it was softer than the ground. "Besides, I'm kind of tired anyway... you know how I'm often tired in the afternoon."
 konske
Aaron frowned as he stood up. Its like we are meant to do something, but that kind of story is like a fairy tale." She gave a small laugh, and then turned to Lean, who was not getting out of the lake. "Hey, Leon, you want to help me get this fire started?" Aaron asked, walking twards the newly made firepit. He pulled a small lighter out of his pocket and frowned. He slowly lit the fire, he sighed as the flames started to get a little bigger. "Where did you get that from?" Angel asked, walking next to him. He smiled and turned to her. "Its something I keep with me. I guess you could say that everytime I have it one me, something good happens. And when I don't it only gets worse." He sat down and then laid on his back. He knew he was only an hour or so's walk from the town. He walked and thought about the noblewoman, and what she would or could look like. Then he smiled again. As he was walking he heard a rustle in the bushes near him. He looked at then cautiously and kept walking. Then he hear another louder rustle of bushes. He walked over two them and inspected them slightly from about 4 feet away. Then his suspicions was confirmed. A large reptilian creature lurched out of the brush, it had a shield and a crude mace made of a stick tied to a rock. The thing had glistening yellow eyes and rows of razor blades seemed to line up neatly hiding behind his lips. This was one of many. The lizard folk. Marty had encountered them before and tried his best to avoid the meetings. Lizard folk tended to hate everything that was smarter than them, and in thus, they basically liked rocks and some plants. The reptiles spoke in a raspy chalk-like language that most called terran. Marty spoke many languages and this was fortunately one of them. "Garesth verder vosk!" said the lizard man. Marty translated that into roughly "You die now!" so he took a step back. The lizard man swung his mace and it narrowly missed Marty's jaw. Marty didn't want to waste time so he quickly drew his sword and struck. The lizard tried to react but it was too late. Marty's sword was already plunged into his chest. It had cracked threw the lizards thin scales and thick rib cage alike. Finally piercing his heart and one of his lungs. Marty gave some sympathy to the reptile, but it had tried to kill him first so he had no choice. Marty walked a few more meters and saw some smoke. He continued to the smoke and found four teenagers, he still had his sword drawn. The sword itself was named 'Darastrix'. An elven word for something or other. The sword gleamed and reflected the sunlight like a mirror. it almost looked liquid as if it had just been dipped in mercury and was still wet in itself. The teens looked at Marty with astonishment. He was wearing bright red armour. with a dark red sheath at his waist. As he approached them he resheathed his sword and looked them up and down. There were two fairly tough looking young men and a couple of pretty girls. Marty didn't mind their strange clothes as he had seen thousands of cultures and styles in his time. But the teens seemed scared a little of him. "Who are you? what do you want??" asked one of the men as he walked out of the lake nearby. One of the girls was sleeping and was swiftly woken up by his worried voice. "Can you tell us why we're here?" asked the already awake girl. Marty thought for a while. And decided to just pass on by. He didn't want to start any trouble. He'd feel bad for hurting such young unarmed, unarmoured, and apparently lost, nomads.
 Zeke47
Vaan was at the Alabaster cup tournament which was going to start the next morning. Vaan was scouting the area even though there was little chance that anyone would notice him when he disappeared along with much money and items as they're was always many nobles at the tournament which meant much to steal, even if somehow he was caught he knew he was strong enough to fight through most enemies he encountered with ease, the only problem is if he went up against 2 or more of the more powerful contestants. As Vaan looked around he noticed a house that looked wealthier than the rest so he decided to take a look inside even though there where warning signs that it wasn't accessible to the public. As he walked inside he quickly dodged to the side behind a statue as a group of 5 guards rounded a bend in the house. He didn't know anyone but high nobleman who would hire that many guards for regular patrol. As the guards passed Vaan quickly ran right past them about a foot behind them without making a noise quickly getting through the doorway across the hall in case any of them decided to look back. He figured that this was the outer courtyard now that he realised how big the house actually was, what he first thought to be a nobles house might turn out to be a small keep inside the town considering the amount of guards there are. He looked up and saw a guard looking through a window over the courtyard and figured that he there would be more in the windows that are above him and quickly dove into a small ditch that was near the door he just came out of half a second ago. "Shit" Vaan mumbled as he knew he had been clumsy in this infiltration so far. Vaan concentrated and focused his energy to go outward just barely over his skin so that now he started to fade and after about 1-2 seconds he turned completely invisible. He crossed the courtyard at a jog since if he moved too fast he wouldn't be able to stay completely invisible without using magic which he was planning on saving since tomorrow he might have to use allot if he was seen. He entered in to the building on other side of the courtyard and walked right past 8 more guards. He continued through the keep until he came upon the entrance which was most likely the way to the inner courtyard and was blocked by large oak doors and a group of 6 soldiers 2 of which where leaning on the door. He search around but found that the door was the only viable option to getting to the other side of the inner courtyard and to hopefully some gold or magical items. Vaan walked up beside the six guards and decided his bet was to kill them all before they could raise the alarm and leave before anyone found the bodies. He walked up to the guard furthest in the back and released a small amount of the energy that surrounded him into him stunning him as to not make a sound or move but breaking the invisibility and luckily he wasn't noticed until he stabbed another guard through the spinal column wedging the vertebrates apart instantly sending the man to the ground. The other 3 guards turned around and drew their weapons as Vaan stabbed another one of the men in the throat tearing through the windpipe and jugular veins so that there is no chance of survival. Both the guards swung their swords at Vaan as he ducked one blade and blocked the other with his sword now soaked in blood he kick the guard who was now off balance from missing his opponent by his quick dodge sending him into the thick oak doors and sending his weapon from his hand and nearly knocking the man unconscious. The guard who now had his sword in a lock with Vaan went to kick him but Vaan was too fast and jumped above the kick and his blade turning his head with his free hand and then kicking it breaking his neck instantly. The recently stunned man started to swing at Vaan from behind as he landed but was slain from a small dagger that Vaan had thrown while airborne. The last guard now up from being kicked hard into the door went to make a run for it and about 5 steps down the hall just as he had started to scream for help a small bolt pierced through the back of his throat silencing him. Vaan went quickly through the next courtyard knowing he had little time before the bodies where discovered. He entered through the other side of the courtyard into the keep and quickly found the treasury after a quick search. He was happy to know that the door was already open for him and walked inside knowing someone was there already. He saw a big man with a sword looking through some old looking chests and as he walked up behind him the man swung around with a mace in hand swinging at Vaan's face. Vaan just barely ducking in time surprised at the mans awareness of him gave the man enough time to get in a kick which hit Vaan squarely in the chest sending him back onto the floor. The man jumped at him with a downward hit but Vaan jumped into close quarters so the mace would miss him and stabbed the man through the stomach and he fell onto the ground. Just as he was about to kill the man he heard the alarm sound, Vaan grabbed as much as he could and ran out of the room before the man got up and wasted any more of his time. Vaan ran up a flight of stairs and looked out a window and saw a roof of a nearby house was almost touching about 5 feet below the window ledge. He jumped out landing on the roof, he quickly ran and jumped to the next roof and down into the street holding the bag he stuffed as much valuable stuff as he could into. He took the stuff to a guy he knew who would buy almost anything and got 800 gold pieces from it and he kept a sword he found since it was enchanted with an everlasting edge. He was walking at the edge of town and saw an odd looking man for these parts, wearing red armour that reminded him of a man he once knew who rode on tigers though this armour looked to be much better than that that he had seen before, he figured he must be here to show off his abilities in the tournament and decided to go over and talk to him. The Enemy
Marty walked cautiously threw the brush as he heard opposing footsteps that were not of the nomads behind him. He looked around and saw the edge of the town. The small village was filled with people in the streets, as Dras-Leona was a common place for the tournament to be held. Many people of many walks of life came to admire it's combatants or even to be combatants themselves. Marty was one of those combatants to be. He spotted A shadowy character heading his way and rested his hand on the hilt of Darastrix. As the man got closer Marty saw he had many blades, and other concealed items. Marty opened with "What do you want of me stranger?" And the stranger simply replied "Nothing, I wish to talk to you, no more." "Very well." said Marty, still grasping Darastrix. "Are you entering the tournament tomorrow?" asked the stranger. "Yes, are you?" answered Marty. The stranger answered win a pleased tone, revealing he probably wanted to see Marty's skills "Yes I am. My name is Vaan, and yours...?" he asked slyly, and Marty quickly answered "Marty." "I look forward to meeting you again during the tournament, perhaps we'll joust, or even duel sometime in the near future." Vaan sounded confident that he could beat the old Marty with ease, and meant his comment as an insult more than anything. Meaning he wishes to fight Marty so he could have an easy victory. Marty simply smiles and said "That's strange, I wouldn't want to fight me if I ere you...oh well to-each-his-own." And Marty left Vaan standing alone. Vaan considered what Marty had just said and figured it to be some obscure means of trying to scare him into not participating. ? He must have been afraid of me, yes of coarse that's it." Vaan concluded in his thoughts with a smirk of confidence. The next morning the tournament sign ups had begun. To see if they were accepted the combatants to be had to partake in a simple few tasks. The first of which was to score a 6 in an archery contest, using no more that 10 arrows. The outer most rim of their targets were worth one the next ring 2 and so on till the center bull?s-eye was 5. But it was no more wide than the width of a hilt. Depending on the target. Marty was happy to hit two third rings getting 3 each for total of 6 with only two arrows. The best score possible. But it was a shallow victory as it was an east goal. A few more than 20 people showed up so Marty just decided to wait for the next bunch to get threw the archery so he could move on to the next qualifying event.
