[COLOR=RoyalBlue]Well I must say I didn't expect people to instantly want to kill off Stevens. :therock: It may look hopeless for the resistance Mariskah, but I can't say too much or it would make the upcoming twists less fun. And believe me, the Empire will be in for a rough ride as well. It will be all more ironic since they think they have the upper hand so when I pull the rug out from under their feet so to speak it will make things more interesting for everyone. ^_~

You can chalk it up to everyone doing such a good job with their characters. I know I for one was not expecting that bit with the families Crystia. Mariskah is right, even if I created the character, you did a great job of making him ruthless.

I don't plan on adding very many characters like Stevens, but having a character that is partially controlled by more than one person is something I thought would be fun and from how you wrote your latest post I got the impression that you enjoyed pulling the strings Crystia. :p [/COLOR]

If you haven't already decided how to do it. I'd love to work the part where Stevens finds out into a post where he is interrogating Kim. Especially since she's currently recovering in sickbay so it would give her a better incentive to keep resisting since she's feeling pretty despondent at the moment. Something I was planning on addressing in my next post. But if she sees Stevens losing control enough to be upset it would definitely make her day.

Let me know because I would love to have her annoy the heck out of Stevens. And her taunting him because he's upset is the perfect opportunity.

And believe me, Stevens is definitely going to be extremely unhappy along with the High Council as well.

It will also result in some people getting new objectives as a direct result from what happened. As well as modifications to existing ones that are not finished. So as you put it Darren "sit back and enjoy watching the fur fly so to speak" Because that's exactly what's going to happen. ^_~[/COLOR]

Anyway...I do have a question for you SunfallE, I really like those pictures you used in your post about the Crystals and the High Council and I was wondering if the rest of us could do the same? I don't mind sending them to you if you want them approved first.

Or perhaps you could give each of us a sector that we provide the pictures for that way one person wouldn't put a picture saying this is sector two and then someone else uses one to represent the same sector. Provided people actually want to do that. Though it would probably be easier for people who's characters are from the Versilan Empire of course.

But like Crystia's posts where Jared and Sandra were reflecting on their past, pictures to go along with things like that would be fun. And personally I think it would be cool if anyone who wanted to use a sci-fi picture to enhance the story could. Provided they gave proper credit like you did of course. ;)

I like the pictures too. And I also like the idea of other people using pictures, though I wouldn't have a clue as to where one would get pictures. Still I hope you use more of them SunfallE, especially since the one showing what the High Council's building and surrounding city looked like was pretty nifty looking. :catgirl:

So long as they are sci-fi in nature instead of anime though sci-fi anime is alright. Anyone else who wants to use pictures is welcome to do so as well.

If it helps before the High Council was formed there were ten factions, similar to royalty in that they ruled over sections of space before they joined together to form the Versilan Empire. Though there is a certain amount of technology that is standard for everyone, there is obviously quite a bit of differences due to these ten factions still being a bit secretive about things that they develop. So the pictures wouldn't even have to be of the same style since one sector would be quite different from another.

And even within sectors, like in sector six, there is the main world where the population lives and then other small ones that are used like the one the resistance attacked that are for different things like shipping or anything else you might imagine. Or outposts on the moons of different worlds that are not inhabited. So definitely feel free to use pictures or add things that you think of into the story. [/COLOR]

Next week will be better for me too as well as having spring break the following week.

And looking back I have to say that I shouldn't be surprised. Goodness! Even my own daughter is caught up in it! I swear, kids seem to grow up to fast these days. ;)

As for Kim getting free...as SunfallE would say...we'll see... :p

Less cliched, perhaps, but still a bit cliched. Still, of all the ways she could be freed, that would be the most realistic, especially since Kiva would know that this was going to happen and when it would happen (I think Stevens would notify her of this in case she had anything she wanted to find out that Kim might know). She'd pass the information along to the Resistance on Earth, and from there it could go to William (I plan to have Kiva include in her next report a suggestion for safely doing this even without the relay stations, regardless of what else happens). William could either free her himself or arrange for someone else to do so. So if Kim is to be freed, I think that's how it sould be done.

[/quote]Meh I agree with Takuya, it may be less cliched, but it's still cliched. Especially since the original story this was based on was not a happy go lucky everyone lives story. And though Kim is a fairly major character, so was Nathan who died in the first part of the story before the RPG.

Also, the method of rescuing her is very similar to what happened with Jason, Celestia, Daniel and Kim being picked up by the resistance in the first place. So the military, especially Stevens would already be on their guard against such a tactic in the first place since the last rescue made the Versilan Military and the High Council look like fools. Something that only served to help the resistance. So in my opinion, especially after what happened in sector six and with the raids stealing supplies. Stevens would be cautious to the point that he wouldn't send her on a regular transport but on something far more secure to ensure she arrived intact for her execution.

Ultimately it's up to both SunfallE and Aaryanna_Mom since Kim is her character. But if she is executed, a very realistic possibility, there's nothing to stop Aaryanna_Mom from introducing another character to the mix to take her place. ;)

[COLOR=RoyalBlue]Well as much as I'd love to say Kim will live, it's still undecided. But to be frank it doesn't look promising, for the very same reasons indifference just listed. Realistically her two options are execution either at Earth or in Sector One. Or as indifference suggested, being broken by Stevens since that type of cruelty that is overlooked by the High Council is part of why the resistance was formed.

Their statements when they cause problems may be about not enslaving other races, but higher members of the resistance are well aware of a certain level of inexcusable behavior, like what happened to Jared when he was a teenager. What happened to Daniel when Jared interrogated him and had his mother executed, etc.

I've left the final decision up to Aaryanna_Mom since Kim is her character and she assures me that she will make her final decision when the time comes. And if Kim dies, if she chooses she can introduce a new character to the story, though the new character does not have to take Kim's place. I've left it open for her to even control a character for the Versilan Empire if she so chooses. ^_~

Another thing to consider, Kim's former crew that she served with on the Tempest had a great deal of respect for her and if she was "broken" by Stevens or executed, it would result in a number of them doubting their loyalty to the Empire as a result. So whether she lives or dies, Kim will make a difference. [/COLOR]
