hyuuga_hinata
The story takes place in Tokyo,Japan which has been invaded by the amanto or aliens since late Edo period. The samurai have fallen & the amantos have declared a ban from carrying swords in public. The story i guess focuses on Sakata Gintoki,a wierd samurai with a natural perm, which he blames for his lacking love life.He is addicted to sweets & goes crazy if he misses his weekly parfait.Shimura Shinpachi works under Gin to learn the ways of a samurai, but he seems to just help in paying the rent instead of learning. Also there's Kagura,a cute alien from the Yato clan, one of the strongest races to ever exist.Despite her being an alien, she looks like a regular human and talks with a Chinese accent. She can stop Gin's scooter single-handedly and has an umbrella that is bullet-proof and can fire bullets from the tip. Her stomach knows no bounds. She also has a cute & gigantic alien dog named Sadaharu who loves to chew on Gin's head. I love this anime!Gin rocks! (note:Gintama means silver soul but if you shout it out loud,it may sound like kintama, meaning um.."the golden bells") :animeswea
Delta
Yay! *intama! I am not ashamed to say that *intama is my current obsession. Never have I laughed so hard at any anime for reasons other than cheesy plot and bad voice acting! Perhaps watching *intama right after finishing The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was one of the best anime decisions I've ever made: Kyon's voice actor also did the voice characterization for *in. I can't imagine a more suitable voice actor for a character who makes more side comments than plot-related lines. P.S. Ah, I'm learning more about anatomical terms in this anime than in my Japanese books. kintama, ketsu, chin... It really ain't for kids, you know? What plot? Gintama is simply a random parody series :D It's pretty easy on the brain with it's hilarious nonsense - LOL!! Sadly, being the geek that I am, I actually understand most of the parodies and jokes in this series :animeswea The voice acting isn't that bad. This show actually has a pretty good cast of well-known and talented seiyuu which makes my ears happy :animesmil
