Roxie Faye
What is it? Retribution. Retribution ALWAYS knows what I'm thinking. Always!!! That in itself is really nifty. Everytime there's a debate thread, I read what Retri's written, and then I'm like, "damn, he said EXACTLY what I wanted to say!" Plus he's nice enough to humor me and my silly conversations. >_> What is it? Mafia. Mafia was SO much fun to play. I really had a great time. It was simple to play, and yet complicated as well, to figure out who the mafia was. Everyone played so well, and it was just great! What is it? Otakupedia. We've had certain archives of Otakuboards things in the past - Otakudaily, um... that site that breko had with OB stuff, the picture site by QA hosted by Tony, the Otakupike (shy!!), but Otakupedia is really nifty because it's RIGHT on the boards, it's organized, and you can see exactly what's in it. And yes, Charles always comes up with nifty ideas. What is it? DeathKnight, aka Ken. YOU! *points finger accusingly* You had BETTER PM me or something. You're never on AIM. *whines* Oh, I'm not supposed to be talking TO you, but about you. Gotcha. Right. Ken is intelligent but funny and sarcastic, all at the same time. He has great potential to become the next Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart, only about a hundred times better. And he's never afraid to speak his mind, which I admire about him. =)

And like John said, Truman Show. Haha. Funny enough, I actually made alot of my better current friends through the 'secret' organizations we formed. What is it? [Members] White, Ezekiel, Dragon Warrior, Retribution Why is it nifty? Because they are all generally ballin' (cool for those not in the know) individuals. Raiyuu
Anime Lounge I wouldn't say it's necessarily become more Nifty this year, but I've actually been back and done some posting there recently, reminding myself (after long stints in the Otaku Lounge) that I joined this Board to talk about anime. It may not be cool to like anime anymore, but at least those of us that still have the bug are allowed a little ghetto where we can discuss it! [thread=52331]The Otaku Lounge Rules Sticky[/thread] This is a purely selfish nomination, because now, instead of giving lengthy explanations, I can just say "go read the [thread=52331]sticky[/thread], n00b". Which gives me more time to post around without my Moderator hat. [thread=55821]Otakupedia[/thread] "IT TO SCARE BABIES!"

Raiyuu
Tek, I thought we agreed: what happened in the Pirates vs. Ninjas thread stays in the Pirates vs. Ninjas thread. Without her I might have missed out on Haruhi! Her breadth of knowledge allows her to justify her criticisms when she has them, but she's equally unafraid of squee-ing like a little girl when something exciting, original or plain pretty comes along. Pumpkin
What is it?: [ MEMBERS ] SunfallE, Dragon Warrior, Cancer & Panda Why is it Nifty?: And you need a reason? SunfallE is the nifties mod. Actually she's the first mod that truely helped me out when I became mod especially when a few others, ahem, who weren't a mod at the time weren't too happy with the decision. I really appreciate the support and for that she earns the first spot on my list. Dragon Warrior for obvious reason, and he's the only one I've recently kept in the most contact w/on my short break. Cancer because he seems to be the only one who ever replies to my graphic requests (did I mention his work kicks ***?) and Panda because her banner/avatar sets are always so cute and she stays true to her name. (I swear she can find any panda picture on the planet, amazing). Hrmmm...that's all I can think of for now. What is it?: Peanut + Dragon Warrior Marriage Why is it Nifty?: Shameless plug? Maybe. DW and I have been married for quite a while now and we're the cutest couple on OB, dontcha think? Besides, I got an onion ring so therefore it makes it the coolest one. What is it?: Otaku Idol 2 Why is it Nifty?: Genius. Otakuboards is probably the smartest, most well-organized message board I've ever been to, and the moderator staff (and higher, of course) all help keep it together. It's not just work work work, though. Sure, we're like the police of OB, but there is a ton of hilarity and fun that ensues behind the scenes. I'm very happy to be on the team, and not just for the cookies and partying. Those are just a nice bonus. That might be the only one from me. Shy
Expect another post from me as time goes on. Why isn't this very active this year? Opinionate Me This! By interviewing members on a variety of subject matter, Mimmi created one of the most dynamic discussion threads in the boards history. Forest Friends! ??But then again, the forest wasn't that safe anymore, because the humans were destroying it. The safest place for a little white kitten to be right now was with Jinx and the others. Her forest friends?? Sandy/White Sandy and White are like Yin and Yang, the sun and the moon, fire and ice. Both are beloved members of the staff, but each represent a much different portion of the community. Over the past year they have both proved their worth to the community, making the competition for becoming OB?s next Event Master much more interesting in the process. These two members, more than any others, defined the past year at OtakuBoards. Regardless of the outcome, both should be proud of the hard work they put into their respective events. The community and I are extremely thankful. The Harem of Celebrity Lust From Carey Grant to Jessica Alba, there?s a celebrity for everyone to fantasize over. Beautiful people. Beautiful thread. Coming Attractions Even though it was short-lived, Jokopoko made a great contribution to the Underground. It?s this kind of innovation that separates OB from other forums, and Joko deserves a lot of credit for coming up with it. DeadSeraphim Alan is always challenging the status quo, whether it is through his posts, custom titles, or creative efforts like Forest Friends. Although his contributions to the boards are difficult to measure, he is easily one of our best members, and more importantly, a great friend. Spam Porn Bots If Sandy and White defined the past year, Spam Porn Bots defiled it. Without computer programs made specifically to register for message boards and advertise pornography, it would have been a boring year indeed! Thank you for giving staff members something to rally against. -Shy
TheShinje
Rachmanioff Rachmanioff is nifty because, as a relatively new member here, his well though out posts and mature demeanour set him apart as an example for all newer members to follow. Plus, he chose one awesome screenname and shows a devotion to music in his sig and avatar that rivals Aaryanna's devotion to Bichon Frises. 6 Degrees of Wikipedia The most original game thread I've seen on the board. Although I was a bit to busy to go flitting through Wiki links to solve the clues, I enjoyed reading the results and the links that liked two totally different ideas together. Thus, it is nifty. Shinje Shinje is nifty because he is the second most ignored person on the OtakuBoards (couldn't event get the most ignored title....curses, Mr. Maul!) and despite his RPG attempts failing at every turn, his only success being the creation of two sequels to a RPG created by another member, Shinje has stuck with the OB, though nowadays he prefers to mull about the Otaku Arts & Entertainment exclusively, and nominate himself for awards. Shinje has decided this course of action might suit him better this Nifty Fifty than last years attempt to threaten dogs with certain death. Shinje figures if it's good for charles, it's good for his non-equivalent.
Horendithas
What is it? Christmas Banner Contest [Thread] Why is it nifty? It?s lots of fun to see the members making banners for the holidays. And by being open to everyone it really is nifty as it shows anyone can contribute to the site. What is it? James [member/staff] Why is it nifty? His tireless devotion and endless patience in dealing with everything that happens at OtakuBoards make him beyond nifty. What is it? Desbreko [member/staff] Why is it nifty? He is Link in Real life; it just doesn?t get any niftier than that. I had more, but they've already been listed, so if I think of more I'll post again since I'm only up to six of the ten I'm allowed to nominate. ;)
DeathKnight
What is it? Why is it nifty? When crime rears it's ugly head, when the world is threatened, when the very nations we live in face the gravest of times there is but one Team who will rise to the challenge and fight for what is right, good and lawful. The Super Otaku Force is not that team. However, it did play a big role in making sure that a cell phone thief did not go unpunished and made the world a better place.
Ozymandius Jones
Spam Porn Bots If Sandy and White defined the past year, Spam Porn Bots defiled it. Without computer programs made specifically to register for message boards and advertise pornography, it would have been a boring year indeed! Thank you for giving staff members something to rally against. -Shy
Congratulations. I now have the urge to get my name changed to Spammy Porn Bot just to confuse people. D: Last two nominations! What is it? 4815162342 Why is it nifty? Because we'll finally have someone to blame when one of those OB Parody Fics comes true and everyone's sucked into the interweb. It's a shame we'll all be attacked by a monster...>> Also because she's an all-around nice person, when she sets foot out of the Arena...granted, that's not often. What is it? HyperZeroX Why is it nifty? Because of a high-handed holier-than-thou attitude that earned him the writhing hatred of every single arena moderator in less than three posts! And because of the nonsense he posted in this thread. I still lawl.
Desbreko
Desbreko's Nifty Fifty 2007 nominations. Now in alphabetical order! What is it? Aaryanna_Mom Why was it nifty? As cool as it is just to have a member's mother join OtakuBoards and become an active poster, Aaryanna_Mom also adds new insight or a new point of view to many threads she posts in. It's apparent that she can see more than one side of an issue, and though she speaks her mind and stands behind her beliefs, she always argues in a non-abrasive way. Even if you don't agree with her, it's hard not to like her. What is it? Asiaphilia, or Count to Ten Before You Post, Please. by Sara Why was it nifty? You could tell just from the title and author that this was going to be a great thread. And it was. Poking fun at asiaphiles is always fun, but even better was poking fun at someone overreacting about asiaphiles. . . . The mental image of Papa Smurf dressed as Darth Vader and choking a Naruto cosplayer also helped. What is it? Charles Why was it nifty? Charles is an all-around awesome person and does indeed have some nine years of backlogged niftiness remaining. But regardless of that he'd have earned my nomination anyway just from the past year. On top of everything else--which includes Otakupedia--he's helped out a lot by rejoining the staff and helping to clean up Play It (now Hardwired) when I couldn't find anyone else for the job. What is it? DeadSeraphim Why was it nifty? Some might consider his sarcasm inappropriate or his one-liners spammy at times, but DeadSeraphim realizes better than most that this is, after all, simply an internet forum and that few things here should be taken too seriously. For those who can take a joke, he can be a pretty cool guy. Despite some differences in opinion between us, he's remained a good friend of mine for a number of years now because we both realize it's pointless to argue over frivolities. What is it? The Desbreko Fanclub Why was it nifty? Formed by Aaryanna, SunfallE, Mariskah, and indifference, the Desbreko Fanclub is a fanclub dedicated to myself. As if the four of them weren't nifty enough on their own, they decided all on their own to band together under the grand banner of Desbreko. This increased their niftiness exponentially, resulting in an uber-niftiness that rivals the best OB has to offer. What is it? The Gold Star Award Why was it nifty? More prestigious than the Nifty Fifty, more subjective than the Otaku Awards, and more mysterious than the "Deal With This Member" Thread. What is this ominously shiney award? A gold star of some kind. How do you win? That's what makes it so mysterious. Can you achieve a Gold Star Award? All signs point to no. What is it? Secret Staff Yaoi Lounge Why was it nifty? The Secret Staff Yaoi Lounge has been surrounded by mystery and intrigue for years, with few knowing whether it's simply a myth or if it actually does exist somewhere within the depths of OtakuBoards. And those who do know aren't saying anything. It's like OtakuBoards' own fountain of youth; everyone wants to find it but, try as they might, no one has been successful.
SunfallE
What is it? Panda Why is it nifty? Besides being nifty for being a Panda fairy, she's a hard working dedicated member of the staff. Her tireless work at both OtakuBoards and theOtaku help keep things running smoothly. And to make it even better, she's one of the nicest and friendliest members around. What is it? Sandy Why is it nifty? In addition to running fun and successful RPG's he's someone who takes the time to help you get your own RPG started. I don?t think my current RPG would have been anywhere as successful as it has been with out all his input and tips on ways to improve it. That alone makes him quite nifty. What is it? Members [indifference, Peanut, Aaryanna, Mariskah] Why is it nifty? These members just show how there are so many amazing members here at OtakuBoards, people that make the best of friends, from indifference with her unique sense of irony, Peanut with her friendly personality, Aaryanna with her cheerfulness and Mariskah with her wacky sense of humor. I could add quite a few people to this list as so many people here are quite nifty. What is it? The staff Why is it nifty? Because without their great examples for me to follow in and their help when I had so many questions when I first started as a staff member. I don?t know how I would have managed. That and everyone knows that James has a cute Australian accent and Desbreko is Link in real life. Definitely nifty. I actually had quite a few more to nominate, but since they?ve already been mentioned I left them out. That way if I realize I?ve forgotten something I can come back and post some more! Blayze
I'm actually so late with my nominations - I've been meaning to get these in for a long time. What is it? The Arena Mob Why is it Nifty? The Arena Moderators are legion - Lady Asphyxia, Revelation, Jokopoko, Ozymandius Jones, Ezekiel, Sandy and myself - and we have all managed to work extremely well together in the past. Even if Zeke and Sandy always get to close threads before me... What is it? RPs that die before they've even finished their first page Why is it Nifty? There are so damn many of them! These are the RPs that get massive interest in the sign-up stage, and then when people actually get round to starting them, they die after less than 15 posts. I know, because I have actually created a number of them. What is it? Revelation and Jokopoko Why is it Nifty? These are the two members I have spoken to most outside of the 'Boards, and what can I say? They're pretty Nifty people. What is it? The Cult of OB Fanfics Why is it Nifty? The sheer variety of them - from those of below-average standard to those of an extremely high quality, we have had sci-fi, crime, fantasy, action, and waay too many assassin fanfics. They allow members who have been involved to escape their own reality for a moment and imagine themselves as these characters the writers portray them as. However, they do sometimes draw attention away from original stories... What is it? Not Charles or Dragon Warrior Why is it Nifty? These two always get nominated in the Nifty Fifty, and I'm one person they're not getting nominations off. Take that. What is it? The Nifty Fifty Why is it Nifty? The name says it all, and how can something with so many Nifty things in it not be Nifty itself? There may be more coming at some point.
