As I am on a site filled with anime and action/kung-fu movie fans, I find it extremely difficult to understand why there aren't any fans of the Ultimate Fighting Championships or Mixed Martial Arts period.

It's my favorite sport, and if ever there were to be one I'd hope to participate in professionally, wishful thinking would lead me to that one.

Anybody else a fan? Any favorite fighters and what not?

I do enjoy UFC and other MMA industries, though I am still a fairly new fan to UFC specifically. The concept of MMA is something I've always been a fan of, but watching it hasn't been an activity of mine until the middle of last year.

I'm still not sure if i'm up to date on any fueds or storys that may be going on within (except that Ortiz/Shamrock had bad beef) but i can honestly say that my top 3 favorites are Forrest Griffin, Tito Ortiz, and Rich Franklin.

Griffin because he is exhilirating to watch, it's like he lives in the octagon. He can beat his opponents almost any way, and the matches no matter who he fights are always exciting. Ortiz because he is absolutely brutal. The guy pound for pound has to be the strongest fighter in the UFC at least, and with that his strikes are absolutely devestating. Franklin somewhat because of the same reason as Griffin, but not as much. I have seen less fights from him then i have of Griffin and Ortiz but he's pretty bad *** from what i've seen.

I watch a bit of MMA on the side of my usual dosage of wrestling, Ken Shamrock is probably the guy who got me into UFC and MMA although now that he is on hiatus, Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddel control my attention. Ortiz is probably the guy who I'd think would be responsible for a lot of injuries because hes so dangerous in the Octagon and Liddel is just so damn good at dismantiling the opponent.

I hate to tell you guys, but Ortiz just got his behind handed to him by Chuck Liddel the other day, haha. 3rd Round TKO. Same with Forrest Griffin, Keith Jardine handeled him in the middle of the 1st round with a TKO also.

On top of that, Rich Franklin lost his title to Anderson Silva, The Spider. Though I am looking forward to Silva hopefully losing that title to his new challenger in February.

My favorite fighters are Chuck Liddel, George St. Pierre, Keith Jardine, B.J. Penn, and the list kinda goes on. Like I said, MMA is my favorite sport, so I have alot of information about it off the noggin.

The Ortiz and Liddel must've been a good fight if it went 3 rounds no? I was kind of disappointed to hear about Forrest losing his match in the first round, but oh well.

I just recently got back into watching the UFC. Had money issues and whatnot, and so I couldn't keep my cable on. I wanted to see the fight where George St. Pierre beat Matt Hughes for the title. (Can't really stand Matt... Something about him pisses me off. I know... haterism. lol)

My favorite fighters are George (RUSH ^_^) St. Pierre, Chuck Liddel, and Andre Arlowski(sp?). And then there's this black guy on George's team who has some vicious elbows. I can't remember his name, but he's a favorite of mine as well.

3 Rounds that def had to be a sick fight. I can see Liddel beating Ortiz though, one of the very few that can.

I need to see the Griffin fight, it's hard for me to believe he went down that quickly ><. I havn't seen much of Keith Jardine, so for all I know it could have been expected, but I've seen Griffin in too many dominant fights. Same goes for Franklin, last i checked didn't he only have around 2 losses? This is something i'm gonna have to find online somewhere, heh.

UFC.com, maybe.

Jardine went three rounds with Griffin's arch-rival, Stephen Bonnar last year and lost by the judges. Alot of people, myself included, thought it was a crap call, because Jardine dominated the first and third round. Bonnar was a favorite. I suppose beating Griffin really shows that he 'won' that fight, seeing as how Bonnar lost twice to Griffin.

Jardine's a mean dude. I.E. the monicker, The Dean of Mean. Has a bad, bad leg kick and is just a rough thrower of the hands.

As I regularly spar with friends and enjoy taking defense courses I enjoy watching the UFC fights at the bar with a few friends.
I really don't like Tito though, he's such a punk. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Chuck show him how it's done.

It's to bad you can't watch the fights on YouTube anymore, since google bought them out I haven't seen them.
