Dragon Warrior
Okay, folks. The results are in and Round One is complete. I'm sorry this took so long. I lost my internet for a little over a day due to bad weather. Here it is, nevertheless. Your top five, judged solely, yet fairly by me. I took all critiques into consideration and tried my best to take your opinions as well as what's fair into my efforts. Round One Top Five First Place - Vicky - 5 Points Second Place - Anomaly - 4 Points Third Place - Shinmaru - 3 Points Fourth Place - Sara - 2 Points Fifth Place - Desbreko - 1 Point My reasonings to as to why these people got these places are simple. I can't say everyone else were not interesting at all. These five had traits that showed through for this round, as everyone will have the chance to do for each round. Vicky took first because of, despite it being taken by a webcam, her picture was quite intriguing and artistic. Her hobbies went along well with her to make such an interesting person. Anomaly brought funk to the competition by taking a completely different point of view. With her creativity by using some familiar, yet altered lyrics placed nicely with an amusing parody (despite The Boss' opinion ;) Haha), she surely pulled through with originality. Her personality really shined here. Shinmaru also tried a different approach. The picture quality wasn't amazingly fantastic, but it's not always about who can out photoshop the others. His witty humor gave a completely different atmosphere to the round and therefore made him worth the third spot. Sara definitely brought out some unusualness with her whole "dead animal" deal. And we love her for it ;) It was new, interesting, and quite possibly the most bizarre, yet intriguing photography hobby I've heard of yet. Her photo was fun and artistic to boot. I so wish there was a dead rabbit in her lap, though. It'd set it all off in sparks. I know it may almost come off as being a suck-up or favorable to an admin, but Desbreko's style was just amusing to most. Whether he was being compared to a scared hobo or some form of turtle, his picture alone earned him a place in the top five. He proves you don't have to go far to find a little "Oomf!", if you know what I mean. And if you don't, then sorry. You just... are... yeah. I'm currently fixing everyone's OtakuBucks Bank Accounts for those who may have gained money or those who may have lost some. Points are being awarded to the deserving members in the competition as well. Contestants, report immediately to the Round thread for the next... er... well... round. I hope you enjoy it even more than this one and I also hope we get some interesting results :) Good luck. Betting Is Now Open.

Dodeca
Heh, I'm the only one to make an OtakuBucks profit from the last round... Awesome. Anyway, for this round, I'm going to place a bet of 50 OtakuBucks on The Boss for third place. His wombat nation sounds like a right hoot.
Boo
We might as well give up the first place now that Desbreko posted this photo.
Raiyuu
I can open an account in the second round, right? I'd like to place all my chips on Desbreko for first place. It's a sure thing if ever I saw one.
John
Yeah, I'm wondering why all the pics Des has ever shown of himself before this contest suck so bad, when these are so fantastic. (And if this round's pic weren't so amazing, I'd scold him for not seizing the opportunity to make a Link-themed one.)
Desbreko
For the most part I think it's because the lighting in my room sucks something awful. (The black and white pic worked in my room because it was supposed to be dark, but still took some photo editing.) Or maybe just because I'm not very photogenic unless I'm doing something weird. . . . Both are likely.
Sandy
The lack of submissions to the second round gives me no choice but to put 100 OtakuBucks for Desbreko to take the 1st place. It's clearly the best entry out of the small bunch, and I have to make up for calling him a hobo on the first round or else I won't get my pay... XP
Sorry, dude. We get paid in [strike]sexual favors[/strike'] long sessions of stroking one another's egos, not cash.
Darren
I totally agree with Sandy! I love Desbreko's picture so I'm putting the remainder of my cash on Desbreko for 1st! (I think I have 100 left) It's definately an easy pick at this point... I just hope that nobody else enters at the last second like I'm planning on doing. Trigun 11
The Boss: You're a cute kid, yes, but your facial expression is a bit quirky. You should put more effort to your photo, now it looks like it's taken from a passport, unfortunately. Martial Arts is a great hobby, though, I have always looked up to people who can kick above their heads. ;D
Quirky?s the best type of look though, Sandy.. I?m getting into TKD finally. Blame Boss for it.
I'll put down a c-note on The Boss to NOT make the top 3. Despite me being such a fine piece, I'm apparently past the underdog stage.
You are a fine piece. I?ll admit that. It sounds so wrong ?cause you?re like one of my friends. And I just don?t do that often, boy. Happy Belated birthday, buddy. I?m making you a card, HAND-DRAWN. Feel special. We?re just cool like that, plus we lived in the same town. Oo; By the way, I got the yearbook. I found you. You also jacked my color. -.-? I put 200 on the fine looking? dancing martial artist, yo.

Raiyuu
Negatives first, so we end on [strike]Desbreko[/strike] a high note. - sakurasuka I'm pretty sure the brief said it had to be taken outside. Correct me if I'm wrong (really, do) but it looks pretty inside to me. Plus, not all the questions are answered. Yeah, I'm not good enough at criticism for any to really jump out as negatives... + The Boss The picture quality may be a little grainy, but I'm incredibly impressed with the shot itself. I think out of all the submissions this is the one that most typifies an 'action shot'. I'm amazed there's no blur (that I can see, anyway). Plus I nearly died laughing about Barillas and Wombats. + MistressRoxie I'm not sure I'd call it an action shot, but the lighting and contrast are really nice - and bonus points for effort in making it a postcard. + Desbreko He's in a wheelbarrow being pushed by a toy monkey. The expression on his little face is priceless. And if he doesn't win oh so very many of us are going broke at DW's OtaKuties casino. It's humorous and I do like a bit of humour, yes I do. Zen
Thanks much Raiyuu. The grain on the photo was actually an effect I was trying to get. Like an old Kung-Fu movie. I could show you the original image if you'd like.
Roxie Faye
Thanks, Raiyuu. =) While I admit, compared to everyone else's shot, there isn't as much action, it's a completely candid, off guard picture. I've got tons of me in the water, in all the damn scuba gear, but they really just didn't look as good, unfortunately. *_*; Thanks again, though. 'Preciate the feedback. ^_^

But I must say, that's the best I could've done, as I don't actually own a camera. Occasionally I can borrow mom's, but the best I can do for an outdoor shot would be to face my webcam out the window.. But I did miss that in the rules. All I caught was the action-y bit, and size regulations. Sorry sorry sorry. But at least I actually managed to get a picture up, as opposed to the majority who. Well. Didn't. But still, I didn't manage to follow the rules. Disreguard my entry, thanks.

Sandy
Time for another batch of Sandy's tough love. ;D The Boss: I think your photo-editing did a good service to your picture, it really feels like a screenshot from an old movie. It still doesn't cease to amaze me how somebody can jump that high up without a trampoline, so you better congratulate yourself for having such a talent! ;D Also, bat-gorillas are a funky innovation, I wonder if they are related to those winged monkeys from Oz? SHUN: Eek, a horsie! 8/ Well, it looks benevolent enough... Nothing out of the ordinary in your picture, I don't think it stands out very well from the other contestants' photos. Your text portion is also quite short in comparison. Clurr: I'm still not seeing your face. The jungle dance is rad, though. ;D Lion and a blowfish? Would that make a blowlion? *is very afraid* Heh, you'd totally mess out the country that you would rule. X) I like your way of thinking, girl. Desbreko: Your facial expression and posture does it all, it really looks like the monkey is giving you the ride of a lifetime. ;D Still insisting on the goatee, huh? Your "spaker" is truly an abomination I wouldn't want to encounter. I think you'd make just as good a ruler to your country as you do here. ;D Vicky: Behold the mighty stick huntress. The playground and the fence break any allusion of you being in the wilderness, though. ;P I'm a sucker for tales from the antiquity, and Pompeii touches me especially since it's a true tragedy. You just got the concept wrong: the city was covered in ash, yes, but it was the ash that turned into stone, not the bodies. The bodies eventually disintegrated, leaving holes into the stone, which were eventually revealed when the archeologists began chipping away the stone and filled the holes with concrete. And now I'm totally off-topic... XP taperson: Sorry, female booty doesn't do it for me. ;P It's a nice picture, though, shows that people can actually have fun in summercamps. You didn't put much to your answers, either, and it's a shame. MistressRoxie: I really like the postcard-theme, it's very original and fun. And Thailand is definitely one of the places I want to visit one day. The picture itself isn't anything special, the people in the background are rather disturbing, but I really believe you saved it by making it a postcard. To answer you rhetorical question: Pengaby. It sounds like a Pokémon. ;P celestialcharm: Yay, finally a photo that shows it's just as cold and snowy there as it is in here! It's a bland picture, but you look adorable in it. Like a teenager longing to go back to the innocent days of childhood... *sob* A "cowtle" would be a sight, indeed. Darren: Whoa, risky business! You really did fall, huh? Dogs are pure evil, I concur. *rawrhiss* It's a great shot with actual action, if it had been on video it would've been great material for one of those homevideo-shows on the TV. An "owlypus" would certainly break the news barrier, if you ask me. You probably should've thought of something more original for the second question, though. [strike]gayiPodgirl[/strike] sakurasuka: Despite the fact that your picture is taken indoors, it's not a bad picture at all. In fact, it's the classiest of the bunch, I think. You should've put more effort to your answers, though, like so many others. Japan_86: Where's the action, girl? All I see is a trio of friends posing. :/ Your answers aren't the most original stuff, either. Revelation: Isn't it creepy being outside in the dark on a fence? ;P Good call on the racist police, too! >;D Anyway, the picture is thrilling indeed. You would defs make a better leader that G.W.B., but I think the same could be said from all of the contestants. Even Clurr, who would turn the country into one gigantic sushibar. XP Ezekiel: Aw, I can't resist the British charm of the picture! The colors are just perfect from the lush mossgreen of the grass to the glowing scarlet of your hair. It's a lovely photo, and you almost make me believe that there really is a crocodile in the river. Or at least a sheepah. ;P Going with Black & White as a method of ruling the country wouldn't be a very succesfull one, though. *imagines a giant sheepah attacking New York* nezzyjean: Why are your...? Nah, I won't ask. XP A candid photo, indeed. I don't a zebraffe would be such a peculiar animal, though, it could almost pass as an albino giraffe with a pigment problem. For the record, utopias don't work because people are selfish bastards. White: You're dancing? It looks more like somebody hit your face with a snowball during a snowfight. And you're giving the camera the finger. :/ I appreciate you share the same freezing fate as me, though. Gawd I hate winter! Turtledoves have always bothered me too, it's not right to mix up two animal names like that and then not live up to the expectations that come with it! >:/ Sinistra: More snow... It looks like you're eating it. Are you? :/ What's a saluki? *googles* Oh, a dog breed. We call them "attic dogs" in Finnish language, for some odd reason. You didn't finish your last answer in time, shame. And with that, I'm done. My favorites this round are Desbreko and Ezekiel, and this time it wasn't even a tough choice.
