Earth. To most people this planet is nothing more than a distant memory, meaningless. Children learn of the once proud planet through mere holograms and history lessons. Planet Earths demise was brought about by its own inhabitance. Man. It was inevitable that their ignorance and egos would blind them to the truth. Pollution, global warming, for years and years people spoke of problems like these trying to effect change but achieving nothing. Eventually, the earth could no longer live with the cancer infecting its every fiber. Earth, our grand planet, our home, failed. It became a barren wasteland, no longer able to support even the most basic forms of life.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, mankind foresaw its own extinction. They looked to their grand machines for help, taking to the skies, journeying beyond the reaches of their own galaxy in search of a new home.

Humans currently occupy exceedingly large ships, affectionately calling these space-worthy vessels ?Arks?, named so after the bible story of Noah. Arks exist solely to house Earths massive and continually growing population. Six are currently fully operational, one for each former continent of the world. The first to be built was the Ark Americas, followed in quick succession by Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa and Antarctica [A joint project between all nations]. Each Ark is unique internally despite their outward appearances.

The Sixth Ark holds a special significance. Named after the uninhabited region of Antarctica, it is used as a massive joint research facility, predominantly presided over by the joint military. The Ark Antarctica is owned by no nation and is home to people of many different nationalities. It houses many scientific facilities as well as being responsible for keeping the animals, large and small, which once occupied earth alive and well. It remains the Ark-Fleet?s only truly neutral vessel and so is used not only for science but political matters.

Exceedingly large and cumbersome machines floating through space are venerable to any number of things. A side fleet of purely combat orientated ships exist to protect and preserve the Arks. They are humanities only line of defense against any and all threats. Six battle ships were constructed; one for each Ark and a seventh is almost finished. These large but agile battle ships were named Crusades and numbered in the order they were built.

The Seventh Crusade [Crusade VII], although technically not at full operational status is the most revered of all the battle ships. It succeeded where others had failed even though it wasn?t ready. Crusade VII has been charged with a most important mission. It is mankind?s hope. It spearheads the search for a new home, a new Earth.

Mankind has spent 150 years traveling the depths of space and has seen many disappointments, its people grow restless. Peace is a fragile thing and crime is becoming more of a problem. Disputes are becoming more frequent among nations, neighbors and friends. Little do the people know that each week their leaders threaten one another with war, if a planet is not found soon then there will be little hope for anyone or anything.

You will be playing as one of the elite soldiers who pilot the ?knights?. Our characters will have to survive the harshness of space, any enemies they encounter as well as each other. [Which may prove more difficult than the last two] -_~ All while trying to find a new home for humanity.

I?ll be putting up an underground thread soon for any questions you may have, I?m not averse to PM either. Have fun and happy creating! I?ll be posting my sign up as soon as there are a few present.

The RP will be conducted in an open chapter style. As soon as one main point is achieved we will move onto the next, everyone will be able to participate in each chapter.

Each mech has a weakness and they work best as a team. If someone has already taken the mech you wanted don?t worry, apply for it anyway. If you have any questions at all don?t be afraid to ask.

[B]Stealth[/B]
A ?silent mech?, sneaky and capable of cloaking its self visually, it doesn?t show up on radar, good for setting traps and ambushes

[B]Power[/B]
This mech possess powerful medium to short range weapons capable of causing large amounts of damage but it quickly over heats

[B]Agility[/B]
A light and nimble mech capable of pulling off sophisticated acrobatic movements, very fast in space and on land

[B]Defense[/B]
A heavy mech, slow but with high defensive capabilities and long range weapons, can generate a large energy shield but it eats a large amount of power

A technological marvel that can actively repair its allies in and out of battle, possesses weapons similar to ?old fashion? mines and grenades

An information gathering mech, it can cripple enemy radar and hack computer systems, it can generate an EMP to take out enemy computer/detection systems [Electro Magnetic Pulse]

Menerva's hair is naturally the blue colour because of the over-exposure to type of lighting that is normally installed in computer rooms. Because of this, she decided to change her eye colour to pink to be truly different and to stand out.

When not in uniform (which Menerva hates with vengeance), she wears the clothes seen in the attachment below.


[u]Personality:[/u] Menerva, more commonly called Min or Minnie, isn't your normal stereotyped computer hacker. Yes, she does wear glasses on the odd occassion and yes, she does like to be alone at times, but that is only because humanity frustrates her with its' insignificant quarrels. She likes her opinion to be heard amongst others, but because she hasn't much knowledge of battle or tactics, her voice is normally drowned out. Because of this, Min builds computer programs that allow her to imitate the factors on the battlefield, therefore has the ability to add her opinion into the fray.

[u]Berserk mode:[/u] When in berserk mode, QUESTA is able to reach speeds far surpassing the mach series.


[u]Special ability: [/u] Min has the ability to write and rewrite any form of programming code known to her in a matter of moments. She can also learn most forms of coding in a short amount of time.


[u]Weapons:[/u] Mankiri (defensive in nature)

QUESTA's main weapon is the mankiri. It is used mostly in a defensive nature against spear/sword weilding mechs or just to tie up the opposition. QUESTA is also equipped with two laser/beam cannons that are used when Min has to resort to combat. They are positioned on the top of QUESTA. The main use of them is to scatter the enemy, more than actually hit them.

[b]" Ohhhhhh! What now?"[/b]

Menerva, more commonly known as Min or Minnie, glared at the numerous computer screens around her, all displaying that ever frustrating error message. Her pink eyes glinted madly as she read the error message. There was only so much frustration she could handle in one day. This was the third instance of the error within ten minutes.

Feeling the fury boil inside of her, Min decided to leave it for the day. Being angry at the computers for the error message wasn't going to solve anything. She needed a break anyway. Standing up from her seat, Min tip-toed across the floor, dodging all her little robots that were scattered across the floor, and made her escape out the door.

After a few minutes of dawdling down one of the hallways in deep thought, Min found herself in one of the smaller mess halls. The smell of coffee wafted beneath her nose.

[b]" Mmm..... coffee..... need caffeine..."[/b] Min muttered to herself as she walked over to the coffee machine. However, it was her mind playing tricks on her. A note was stuck to the front of the coffee machine. Min soon discovered, after she deciphered the loopy handwriting, that the machine was broken. Her shoulders sagged.

[b]" Nothing isn't going right for me today....."[/b]

- In her room, Min has a lot of small, intelligent robots that she made [they can create choas aboard the ship if they are get out of her room]

Mari is normally seen wearing tops and pants when not in uniform. She's not a big fan of dresses and skirts, but has been seen wearing them for times when she feels like she needs to, ie. special occassions. She has a lithe, toned, athletic body and stands at about 5'7".

[B]Personality:[/B]
Mari is strong willed in nature, and with that comes stubborness. She is one of the more stubborn people you will ever meet and she enjoys it immensely if she is able to get her way, even through much argumenting and deliberation. She has a strong personality and it may be overwhelming for some people because she looks more delicate than she actually is, as the saying goes 'looks can be deceiving'. She's in fact strong physically and enjoys doing gymnastics in her spare time because she was gifted with a suitable body from childhood. Mari is always dedicated to everything she sets out to do and has shown good leadership skills in the past. She has a quick strategic mind, which is a great skill and always comes in handy when she's out on the battlefield. After helping out with numerous plans for attack she was promoted to Captain status. Even though she looks like she's all business, she loves to sit and chat with friends, and enjoys a good joke. She's a very laidback person but is more serious when in the midst of battle.

[B]Berserk mode:[/B]
Houka's special attack involves the two guns beside its legs and the eight blue wing components on its back (which spread out when it's flying to look like wings). The two guns flip up like how she normally uses them but this time they only release waves of fire, while the blue components detach from each other and fly around, releasing spirals of electricity. All aspects of this attack can lock on. Mari will usually lock with the DRAGOONs (the wing components) so they are more directed, even though they can attack on their own without help.

[B]Special ability:[/B]
The special ability Mari has is pyrokinesis. It's not overly powerful, but enough to deal damage. It's quite a handy ability and her fire usually always comes in handy for something or another. The fire comes from a well of energy within her body, all she has to do is reach out to it and draw some, turning it into a physical energy that burns and flickers brightly like a ball of fire.

Mari has been trained to handle a large variety of bladed weapons, from staved blades like the glaive, to short dagger like weapons and projectiles. But her favourite was always the Nagimaki, a nice mix between a staved blade and a katana. She keeps the blade sharp at all times so it is always ready for slicing or stabbing. It's an olden style weapon in their technologically advanced world, but she loves it all the same. Though it has been modified. There is a small button in a carved niche of the hilt, when pressed will make a glowing navy blue aura appear around the blade increasing the strength of the weapon.

Mari nodded to the technicians as she climbed into the cockpit, falling into the seat. Her hands naturally went around the controls as she started up the OS. She pulled the keyboard out from beneath the control panel and checked the changes that had been made because of a new program upgrade, adjusting some things that had accidently been shifted. She pressed the button which disconnected the restraints and walked forward slowly, heading toward the exit.

Mari flew out into space, she loved flying with Houka. Space was a silent abyss and she felt free just floating around. She let herself just float for several minutes before beginning a short regime of exercises, trying out the new adjustments and making mental notes of some things that should be altered. She conducted a flurry of punches and kicks, flying acrobatically. Mari smiled as she thought of when she had first piloted a mech...

[I]Mari looked up at the machine. It was a training module since she was just starting out. The technicians were describing things about the Knight and she nodded her head, absorbing the information like a sponge. Finally it came time for her to put the information to use. She was helped into the machine via a platform lift, so she could get into the cockpit. She obeyed the order to turn on the comm link as soon as she got in there so she could communicate with the technicians. She was walked through how to turn on the Operating System and was told to find her co-ordination. Shakily she took several steps with the controls, finding her balance. As she gained confidence her steps grew sturdier, until she tried to take a step that was too big, which sent her falling backwards. She picked the Knight up and started going through commands that was being relayed to her. Punching and kicking to get used to the controls. Finally they allowed her to go out into space.

Her first experience of piloting a Knight in space was spent more trying to get a hang of things than actually enjoying the experience. Now that there wasn't a solid surface beneath her she had to learn how to use the thrusters in conjunction with attacking and evading. This time it took her longer to adjust. After a couple of hours she was called back in, ending the session until next time. They were still testing people out for who would be best suited to piloting a Knight permanently, and even though Mari had yet to adjust to working in space with a Knight, she had done better than a lot of other members they had tested.[/I]

Mari smiled fondly at the memory, it had been a challenge, which was why she had enjoyed it immensely. She had succeeded in working in space within the next session and moved on to more advanced things. Finally she had been chosen as a pilot, which is when she had received her very own Knight. When it was given to her, it was just called the "Elemental Knight". Mari had decided that her partner deserved a name, and after a couple of minutes of thinking, she came up with Houka. She named it Fire/Gunfire because fire is one of its initial elements, because of her own power of pyrokinesis, and the fact that it is used for combat which results in gunfire.

Mari was satisfied with her notes on what had been changed and put a burst of power into her thrusters, jetting herself toward the hatch, calling the ship's technical control so they'd open it for her. When she landed she got out of the cockpit and wrote her mental notes down on a piece of paper, handing it to the techs so they could do a couple more re-adjustments before heading off to the gym to do a workout.

-[b]Personality[/b]: Leon is a mature individual who is not so proper that he is viewed as a strict boyscout. He is well respected and is easy to get along with as long as he is addressed respectfully as well, atleast from those who are not as close with him. Leon's most outstanding positive attributes are what made him a Captain, which are his dedication and leadership skills. To those who know him better however he appears much more casual and enjoys some relaxation in the form of kicking back a few drinks. One of Leon's more lesser known skills also lay on the dance floor. He can dance many styles of slow and fast dancing, which tends to win him the attention of the ladies, especially when in uniform.

Leon's feelings toward his people are strong, as they have already come close at one point to extinction. Regardless of his nationality, he views the protection of the human race as a whole to be equally important.

-[b]Berserk mode[/b]: Altair's beserk mode involves his beam sabre expanding in size to look more like a fairly wide jousting lance. The power surge from the sabre charges through the systems of Altair as well causing it's speed to increase even more, as well as take on silhouettes of electricity that can be seen in the location of where it once was before moving. The electricity left behind can be damaging but nothing more then a temporary shock. In this form Altair can viciously dash through his targets with alarming speed mixed with the increased range of the sabre. This is a mix between an attacking mode and an illusory mode.

-[b]Special ability[/b]: Leon is swift on his feet like his Knight is. He can perform acrobatics and run quickly in combination with landing attacks or simply to get around. Leon can use many types of bladed weapons, but has less experience using firearms.

-[b]Weapons[/b]: Dual bladed tonfas (as seen in the picture, one for each hand) - Can be held as a sword as well.

-[b]Bio/Snippet[/b]:

Leon dashed as quickly as he could down another turn toward the corridor leading to the officer's lounge. He glanced behind him to check his progress, seeing some faint outlines of where his body was, an expression of elation came over his face as he slowed down enough only to enter in his code to be allowed entry to the private bar/meeting place for the officers of the military.

[b]"What in the..."[/b] Leon said aloud, trying to put his code in again. It yielded the same result however. A sweatdrop formed on Leon's head as he turned around to see a group of people running after him. He started rapidly entering his code in again and again trying his hardest to get in.

[b][i]'Come on come on come on....'[/b][/i] Leon repeated in his mind over and over.

The group got closer, but another officer stepped in and entered in her code in quickly as the door opened for her. Leon ran in, followed by the female officer as the door closed behind them.

[b]"They switched up the codes again, you'd know that but you were out with Altair doing some transport to the Ark-Americas."[/b] the attractive young officer said, inserting her card back into side pocket.

[b]"Thanks Min. So I see, that's the third time this month. The second time it's been done without me knowing."[/b] Leon said ordering a drink from the bar. The blue haired captain said next to him and giggled a bit.

[b]"Why were you running away from those women anyway?"[/b] Menerva asked, also ordering a drink.

[b]"I don't have the time for rabid fangirls, what is their issue anyway?"[/b]

[b]"Maybe they think you're cute, I dunno. You should be happy."[/b]

[b]"I'm a Knight Pilot, it isn't like it's a job for fame and fortune. We're here to protect people. Besides, I'd rather enjoy a nice quiet drink here with you."[/b] Leon said, giving his fellow Knight Pilot a smirk. Menerva rolled her eyes and took a sip from her glass.

[b]"Well as sweet as that sounds, I only came by for a quick drink. I have some minor repairs I have to do on QUESTA."[/b] she said, finishing off her glass and standing up. Leon turned and watched her walk away.

[b]"Hey, I'll stop in a little later and help out if you want. There's something else I need to take care of at the moment myself."[/b] Leon offered. Menerva waved her hand up in acknowledgement, pretty much meaning that he was welcomed to if he wanted. Leon finished up and went to the private hangar where Altair was kept. He glanced up at the massive mech and smiled with delight.

[b]"Alright partner, I got a gift for ya."[/b] Leon said as he knelt down infront of a box. He pulled the box's flaps open and pulled out a large cynlindrical tube like structure. He placed it on the equipment pulley and rode up beside it with the maintenance elevator. Altair was large for a mech of it's capabilities, but it handled it's speed exceedingly well. Because of the agility advantage Altair has, Leon normally kept the armaments as 90% melee styled. This included the mech's main beam sabre that is built in to it's right hand and several beam daggers. Though Leon had just picked up a package he ordered weeks ago from the Ark-Americas and it was time to equip it for battle usage.

Sho Kazuki is very quiet at times and likes to think to himself about his past memories. Ever since his mother and father died, Sho never seemed to get a grip of himself. To others, he seems lost everytime someone tries to talks to him. Sho thinks that it was his fault of his parent's death, yet it was an accident and nothing more.

Sho, over the years, develope memory fragments/images of his parent's deaths. To rid of the memories, he went to a doctor, who gave him medication. After the medication did not work for weeks, he decided it wasn't a mental disease, but something from the inside he most find for himself. Something to overcome by himself.

Because of these memory fragments, he can though go into a state of beserk and just unleash his rage on something. He always seem to drift into a place of his own when someone talks to him. Now that he joined Crusade VII, he seems to be in a worst state. He doesn't do anything very special doing break hours, just go in his room and lay on his bed, wondering what life would have been.

[B]-Berserk mode: [/B]
Ryuu's berserk mode becomes very powerful, yet it can be very dangerous. The process begins with Ryuu over-heating and getting at a very high temperature. The temperature can act like a barrier, just close can heat very weak metal. The over-heating boast's the power and strength of Ryuu. The side effect is the life risk of the user. If used more then three minutes, it can physically start to burn the flesh of the pilot.

Sho's special ability is his key sense of hearing. He can hear the faintest of sounds and a rang of quarter of a mile. This ability is not only useful in battle, but when to hear a door-closed meeting. He can reactivate and also deactivate whenever he commands. It is possible to become deaf if near an object with a high volume of sound.

His special ability helps his defenses, but Sho uses a legendary[I] [B][URL=http://www.monkeypeaches.com/Sword.jpg]Green Destiny[/URL][/B] [/I] for offense. The powerful sword has been passed down for almost 3,000 years. It has been protected and remade several times from old age, but it still keeps it's ancient ways.

The blade of the Green Destiny is thirty-three inches long and one-tenth of an inch wide, engraved with green-enameled dragons along the length of the blade on both sides. It has an eight-inch hilt (long enough for two-handed use if necessary) that is two-sixths inches wide and seven-tenths of an inch thick, with several rubies missing from the guard.

Like most Chinese swords back then, the blade is very flexible and light, but at the same time is strong enough to parry the blows from other weapons. It is forged of an unknown metal, which is far stronger and more durable than steel. Because it is so thin and light, the Green Destiny is very maneuverable and extremely sharp. A light tap from the blade is enough to cause deep wounds, shown to be able to cut a ceramic pot in half. More amazingly, the Green Destiny is able to cut or break through other steel weapons. No matter how strong, the sword will eventually destroy the weapon.

Sho Kazuki. A life without much meaning to him anymore. When he was born, The kazuki family could barely afford him and his needs. His parents would fight and fight for the next 11 years of his life, until one day after the last day of school. His mother picked him up, but went straight to the kitchen to have another fight with his father again. It was different though. Much different. He walked inside from the car to hear a loud gun bang. His mother liad on the kitchen floor, dead. His father, stared deeply into eyes of Sho and smiled. He picked up and knife from the counter and cut him throat. Both parents, gone in a instant.

After the death of his family, it seemed Sho became a doll. As if his soul left his body and all remained was his body. The police, at first, assumed that Sho was mentally unstabled and he was the one that killed his parents. But close friends and relatives proved their constint fighting and abuse. They ruled it a murder sucide and put Sho with his grandmother. After just one week with him, his grandmother sent him into a private school until he was old enough to join the military.

Sho Kazuki was a puppet. He didn't complain about time or about minor injuries. He followed plans and did what he was told. He was promoted to Captain status and remained there. He visited his grandmother, his only knowing family member. When his grandmother turned 90 on her birthday, she gave him the sword that was passed down every generation for almost 3,000 years. [I][B]The Green destiny[/B][/I]. She died the next day of old age. Sho didn't attend the funeral.

When Sho was 23, he met a young woman named, Ishii. For the first time since his parents died, he felt the emotion he drived away from so long. Happiness. She understood him and cared for him. Sho thought he could settle down with her and make a family at first, but then it faded when her lies came around. She began to lie and wanted more from him when he was giving all his love to her. One day, he found her out to dinner with a man. The man she was uses to cheat on him. He conforted her, but turned out she used false love for him to sell the legendary Green destiny for money so she would become rich. After the unbelievable break-up, he became even more isolated then before.

Running...He was running without a cause, without a reason to run. Sho though, didn't stop, but pressed forward into the void into everlasting darkness. His steps hit the ground hard as he could hear himself exhale every second. Running....Without a reason....

[B]'Why do you run?[/B]' A woman's voice whispered to him as if she was inches away from his ear. Though, he ingored the question, and kept his steady pace.

[B]"Don't worry my baby boy, its not real blood..." [/B] another whisper, it seemed louder than the other one. His speed began to decrease. "Your going to be one of the best enigeerings around!" Sho went from a jog to a walk as tears ran down his eyes. Why must his mother test him? Why?

[B]"Come here, baby, I will give you my love."[/B] He gripped his head in anger as his mother's echoed in his head.

[B]"Shut up!!!"[/B] He roared as everything became silent.

Through the walls of darkness comes a beast with large features. His immune strength was shown through a strong aura that vibes from his body. The monster gave a giant war-cry as he prepares to destroy him. Sho stared away from his burning rage and faced the beast. A sword appears in his right hand as Leon dare not glare away from his foe. His blade twitched as it burst into flames, powering up for it's master. One move, to end the creature's life. The void remained silent. The two were dead-locked between each other, until the beast blinked. Sho jumped straight at the face of the beats, blade high above his head.

[B]"Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust!!" [/B] He yelled as he was bring down the final blow when he heard the low tuned voice.

"We love you, Sho darling." The quote stopped him as it was a mistake. The beast instantly shallowed him whole. Sho fell into the endless void until he blacked out.

Sho Kazuki jolted from his his nightmare, sweat pouring down his naked back. He was in his bed, three hours before he was supposed to wake up. The early morning was quiet, not even the wind made any sound. He took a deep breath as he fell back on his bed, staring at the ceiling. It was the fourth time this month he had been having that nightmare of his past. Why does the past bother him so much? What do they wish from him? He turned over and tried to sleep again, hoping his past would not haunt him again....Hoping he would never hear his parent's voices every again

The Hirvi is most effectively used as a tank in battle situations, relied upon to draw a lot of fire and return with its own heavy artillery. Equipped with a rocket launcher and a series of rocket pods, it can defiantly go toe-to-toe with the most well armed enemies, and its automatic slugthrower gives it a heavy-duty weapon in close-combat situations. As a result of an extremely high amount of armour, the Hirvi is not very mobile, which means it can be overmatched against swifter opponents, but it can take also take quite the pounding. The Hirvi is defiantly more equipped for space battles then land battles as its weight isn?t as much of an issue.

The biggest advantage the Hirvi has is a series of shield projectors, which produce a destabilizing field that atomizes anything it comes in contact with. This is devastatingly effective on melee weapons as it also destroys them, and it is also useful against projectiles. However, it has no effect on lasers or explosions, and it cannot be used for extended periods of time without draining the power cells or overheating.


[B]-Berserk mode[/B]:
[i]Big Gulp[/i]
So named because of the incredible amount of energy it consumes, the [i]Big Gulp[/i] is the Hirvi's last-ditch move. Essentially, all the energy in the suit's power-cells is focused into one of the shield projectors, allowing it to use the shield as a weapon in itself, projecting a meter-thick, semi-transparent beam a half a kilometer in any direction. The effect of this beam is devastating, atomizing anything that gets in the way and superheating the air around it. The main drawback of this ability is that it requires such an incredible amount of energy that the suit is forced to shut-down and rely on its Emergency Cells to keep the Life Support and Communication systems running until it is re-charged, either on the Crusader VII or by a Support-Mech.

Theoretically, if enough power could be harnessed, this same effect could be applied to every projector in the suit, producing a wave of death in all directions. However, as this has never been tested, it is unknown what effect this would have on the pilot and the suit itself.

[B]-Special ability[/B]: Kari has an incredible endurance level, both physically and mentally. He can stand a lot of pain and does not tire easily, meaning he is an effective 'tank' in combat situations (Much the same as his mech). He is a fairly strong person, but not to the extent that it can be considered a 'special ability.'

[B]-Weapons[/B]: WZ SU-7 "Waterfall": The Waterfall, so named because of the distinctive sound it makes when firing, is a fully-automatic, belt-fed machine gun that makes use of 4 rapidly-rotating barrels to maintain a high rate of fire without the risk of overheating. It's chambered for high-calibre ammunition, with a rate-of-fire of up to 500-rounds/minute. The ammunition is stored in a Kevlar pack on his back which feeds directly into the gun's breach. However, the pack and the gun combine to reduce Kari's mobility, and it is very unwieldy and difficult to aim.

[B]-Bio/Snippet[/B]: With his free hand, Kari rubbed his nose habitually, a quirk he had picked up as a stimhead in the Kamchatka Slums. He replaced his hand on the other handle of his chaingun and took another cautious step down dark, gloomy metal hall, the vision screen pressed up against his right eye giving him an infrared heads-up on the end of the hallway; clear.
He took another ste[ forward as silently as he could, when a sharp, reverberating sound echoed from out of the darkness; the audio-amplifier plugged into his ear distinguished a muttered [B]?****!?[/B] accompanying the sound of metal-on-metal. His enemy had just made a mistake.
He blinked and the infrared image was replaced by a radar rendering of the hall, clearly marking the nooks and turns that lay ahead of him. He noted a niche in the hall about 3 meters from his position, and then the hall cornered about 6 meters past that. He quickly identified the small niche as the source of the sound. Slowly and cautiously, he inched towards it, keeping his finger on the trigger and his gun pointed in the right direction. He blinked again, returning his infrared vision.
He reached the niche and, in one fluid movement, jumped around the corner, only to find the niche empty. He froze for a second, his eyes went wide, and couldn?t stop himself from grunting [B]?Oh ****!?[/B] as he realized his mistake. He wheeled just in time to avoid the flurry of gun-fire that came from the corner of the hall, and dashed for the safety of the far wall as fast as his cumbersome equipment would allow him. The gun fire continued to follow him, as he?d hoped, and he waited for his enemy to round the corner, his trigger-finger ready.
As he?d predicted, the suited, faceless thug quickly leapt from behind the safety of a corner and right into Kari?s stream of white-hot death. The gun made a sound like rushing water hitting rocks, and Kari braced for the re-coil, spewing a steady beam of slugs into his foe. The suited enemy let out a low, guttural mewing and flew back into the far wall hard, landing with a thud and leaving a messy blood-stain on the metal panel.
Kari grinned to himself and hefted his weapon proudly, blinking to cause the view screen to rescind completely. He instantly regretted letting his guard down, though, as the sound of gunfire cracked through the hall as a second enemy opened fire from around the corner. Kari instantly rolled to the left and opened fire with gun, which he also regretted.
For, you see, in his haste, Kari had accidentally struck a series of pipes on the wall marked with a universal yellow-exclamation mark; the gases contained there ignited, exploding violently and tearing a massive hole in the steel panel, exposing the pressurized interior to the black emptiness of space. The masked antagonist was sucked out by the massive force with a terrified howl, and Kari found himself being sucked towards the same fate. He braced, but he could do nothing as he was powerlessly dragged towards his death. His head hit the edge of the tear violently, his vision ebbed red, and then blackness.
[B]?God dammit,?[/B] Kari muttered as the simpod opened with a hiss. He threw his head back and waited for the typical reprimanding from his Conditioning Commander. He delt with the blustering, strict woman who was responsible for keeping the fighting men and women of the Crusade VII from getting rusty, and was suddenly overcome by an insatiable desire to crawl to the nearest Rec Room and drink until he couldn't feel his face anymore.

Matthew is of a mixed Irish/French/Italian/German descent. Its so varied that he dosen?t know the percentage anymore. Thus, its safe to say that he got his tanned skin from a lot of hours in the sun generated rooms. His scarlet red hair was dyed ? red is his favorite color, after all. He tinted it with brown and black to make it look natural, and the procedure worked. Most are surprised when he tells them his hair is naturally brown.

His chin has a small scar creeping up it, a result from a fight he got in his teens. He usually boasts about it, joking he got it from a battle, even though the Crusade VII has not even seen any battles in its hundred or so years in operation.


-Personality: To be a Captain, you would expect Matthew to have the following: dignity, respect, a clear head, respectful to his superiors, and a love for his countrymen.

Matt doesn?t have any of these. He is one of the most laid back, womanizing, alcohol tolerant captains to ever grace the halls of the Crusade VII. If he isn?t drunk, he?s with a woman. If he?s not with a woman, he?s probably drunk. If he?s both drunk and with a woman, you can guess that he?s going to have sex.

Matthew does have a sense of some dignity, however. He knows how important the Crusade VII is. He knows how its mission will affect the future of mankind. He knows that if the Crusade VII falls, humanity falls along with it. Thus, he does act serious when the need arises.

Despite that, he loves to show off. He knows that he?s one of the better sharpshooters the Academy has trained, and he loves to boast. Not to the extent where he?s better than you, but to the point where he wants to get most of the action.

When they realized they were lacking in a mech that was capable of both long ranged and close ranged combat, the Hercules was put into development. Although something of a failure in the close range combat department (its only weapon is its rifle), the Hercules seceded expectations in its long range compatibility.

A navy blue, the Hercules was built for battle. Its armor has four layers, an extra beyond the usual three. This is because it overheats quicker due to its oversized weapon; the fourth layer holds a cooling system larger and more expansive than the norm.
-Berserk mode: Covered along its back are multiple ?ray discs?. These discs serve two purposes: to add to the firing power of the Hercules? weapon, as much as tripling it if pushed to the limit. The secondary purpose is to create a shield that absorbs any laser-based attacks that come its way. When entering the Berserk mode (which requires A level clearance), the Hercules? firepower is capable enough to destroy half of a small army?if the pilot is skilled enough and the Hercules doesn?t implode by then.

-Special ability: Matt is a fighter. It?s as simple as that: he loves the feeling of kicking somebody?s behind. He loves the feeling of blood dripping down his face. It gives him a purpose; a reason to go on.

As a result, Matt has what you could call a sixth sense ? he knows when somebody is itching for a fight, and he can sometimes see an enemy?s future moves. It would be better to say he?s better at staying a step ahead than the average man.

-Weapons: Matthew finds him in more fights than an asteroid encounters space dust. Thus, he has learned not to rely on conventional weapons, like guns or knives that can break or shatter. If you want to really win a fight, you?ve got to use what God has given you.

In short, Matt uses his fists.

Matt?s fighting style can easily be compared to how he invites women to his bed: short, sweet, and to the point. He doesn?t go for fancy moves, agile maneuvers, or chivalry. He kicks peoples in the balls if he feels like it, he head butts them if he?s in the mood. It?s the type of style a thug would use.

But it works.

-Bio/Snippet: [The gray nicotine smoke filled the bar. The dark, deep drunken voice of the patrons echoed off of the steel wall. The Crusade VII may have been a military cruiser, but its bars still looked like bars; dirty, smelly, and full of drunken soldiers on their breaks.

A soldier named Matthew Camien was in the center of it all. He loved bars; they were the most freedom soldiers ever got. In their halls, there were rules. In their quarters, there were rules. When they were shitting in the bathroom, there were rules.

In the bars, there were no rules. Just drink, get drunk, and drink some more!

Matt puffed lightly on a cigarette. Then he drank some beer.

Then he puffed the cigarette again, letting out a large fume this time.

He was shirtless; he felt too damn hot to be in uniform in a bar.

Beside him was one of the hottest girls he had ever met. She was just in a tank top and a long skirt. Her brown hair made her sexy. Her eyes made her pretty. Her lips made her lustful.

Her boobs made her his.

They talked for a long time, Matt pulling off all the pretty words a professional screwer pulled. He told her she had the cutest eyes; he told her hair looked might fine this evening, or whatever the hell it was.

He asked her where she got her exercise from.

It wasn?t long before she asked if they could go to a room.

[B]Biography:[/B] Salume Abdulla was born to a relatively wealthy family of Somalian origin. She was destined to marry her second cousin, but she escaped that fate by enlisting to a military training.

Salume specialized in becoming a paramedic, and that's where she met her future husband, Moustafa Hamud Adasi. Moustafa, or [I]Moush[/I], like Salume calls him, appealed to her with his honest and tender posture. After moving in together, they had two sons, Hamud and Abdullah. To the surprise of everyone, it was Moush who stayed at home to take care of the boys while Salume continued her military paramedic career.

Aside from medicine, Salume found interest in piloting "Knights", and in a few years she became a prominent Support Module Pilot. However, her skills led her away from her beloved family, as she was ordered to participate to the Crusade VII Mission. Nevertheless, not a day goes by that Salume doesn't look at the photos of her husband and two sons, longing to be with them again.[/COLOR]

Fortescue, affectionately nicknamed ?Fort? by some, stands at around 6?. He is well built, though not overly muscular, and doesn?t spend as much time is the gym as some other soldiers do. He prefers to jog to keep himself healthy, and is a stubborn vegetarian. His casual clothes consist of button up shirts and loose jeans, as well as a nicely polished pair of shoes. There are some soldier traits he just can?t get out.

[B]Personality:[/B] A determined and driven man, Fortescue has long worked to achieve his dream position of Captain. He is renowned for his joy in success as well as for his patience and is well respected by all soldiers under him due to his clear way of thinking and ability to pass fair and well-researched judgement. Never one to snap or make brash decisions, Fortescue has been called a coward by other captains, yet he always insists that those who look before they leap have a lesser chance of being killed. That seems to be the way he prefers to live his life, especially now that he has attained his life goal. In moments of strange philosophical moods, he believes the only reason he keeps on going and keeps on striving is simply to keep on living.

The Equinox is not designed to be especially offensive or well defended, with it's technology to allow a stealth mask and being undetectable taking up most available space in the sleek design. It's torso area, where most mechanics are located, is fortified as well as it's neck, but the arms and legs are not so well armoured.

Two small beam sabres are located in its wrists, which can be used for close combat, and two small heat-guided missiles are stored in the shoulder pads. Fortescue prefers not to use the gun shown as it's an extra weight, but will equip it if he's sure there will be a vital use for it at some point.

While the design isn't made to be very fast or agile, it is light, which makes it easier to handle and to outmanoeuvre a bulkier, less adaptable mech. However, as it isn't supposed to be used at high speeds it can get thrown off course very easily if Fortescue tries to show off.

[B]Berserk mode:[/B] Messenger

Being a Stealth pilot, Fortescue prefers to sit and wait and assess. His Messenger Berserker Mode allows him to do this even in situations where he is the last one standing. His mech has the unusual ability to create 'clones' of itself using a form of hologram. These clones can either act as temporary stand ins while Fortescue drifts into the background, or they can be used as a method of getting backup and warning other units.

As a man who does not enjoy violence, it makes sense for Fortescue to pilot a module that requires forethought and intellect rather than big guns and ammo. This is why his Berserk mode is more helpful to others rather than himself.

[B]Special ability:[/B] Unlike others he has come across, Fortescue was not gifted with any inhuman powers. He has, however, developed an almost sixth sense when it comes to war. He is a brilliant strategist and can assess multiple outcomes of a military operation or a sudden enemy movement with almost eerie accuracy.

[B]Weapons:[/B] The twin weapons shown in the picture are, to put it basically, beating sticks. While not the most agile of soldiers, Fortescue is quite fit and tall so can hold his own in a close combat fight. If the enemy appears with a gun, each of the batons are equipped with a 'light bomb', which when fired sends out a brilliant flash, allowing Fortescue to escape.

[B]?I swear to you, general, the location I gave you was secure!?[/B] A man shifted uncomfortably, his cropped blonde hair seeming almost white in the intense lights of the main office. Soldiers stood on the outskirts of the room, their faces masked with shadow. It was probably better for them, seeing as right now they were glaring pointedly at the general.

[b]?I find that hard to believe, Lieutenant, seeing as our squad were destroyed as soon as they reached it! You?re telling me there was no sign of an enemy force at all??[/b]

The general sighed and slammed his fists on the table, causing the man in front of him to wince. [b]?Lieutenant Camdon, you?re dismissed. I?d like you to leave my office and hand a resignation form in tomorrow.?[/b]

[b]?I?yes sir.?[/b] Camdon saluted and turned about on his heel, barely managing to catch the anger-filled eyes of his teenage son.

Once the general had left and the soldiers were dismissed, Fortescue went after his father. He was not disappointed, as he knew he had been tricked, and that damned old fool just couldn?t see it. Jenson Camdon had promised his son they would advance in the army together and that he would never let his boy get hurt?and now where was he left. A father without a job, a mother on the run and Fortescue, eighteen years old and on a soldier?s pitiful pay. He could barely even hold a gun, let alone fire one, and up until now his father had been the only thing ensuring he wouldn?t be killed.

[b]?Father??[/b] he called, leather-gloved hands cupped around his mouth. He tugged angrily at his tie and collar as he approached the lower district, heading at a jog toward his house. The door was open and he hopped inside, wiping his feet hurriedly and half-jumping, half-stumbling into the kitchen as he pulled off his boots. His father was at the table with his head cradled in his hands, the shaking of his shoulders clear evidence that he was sobbing.

Fortescue felt a pang of distress as he saw his mother?s picture on the table and walked to his father, placing both hands on the larger man?s broad shoulders. He stiffened a little before looking up, eyes red and swollen.

[b]?My son??[/b] he said softly, voice croaky and dry. [b]?I?ve failed you. I?ve broken my promise, I??[/b]

[B]?Be quiet, dad. I love you.?[/B]

And he did, and that was all that mattered. His father calmed down and Fortescue started to cook, making a silent vow that he would be a pilot. He would show their enemies what it felt like to be on the end of an ambush. He would show the general that the Camdon name was a proud one.

-Fortescue is good-natured but reserved and fiercely protective of his father. If someone wants to become his enemy, that?s a sure way to get there.

[b]Personality:[/b] Karl is the epitome of an over-achiever but he doesn?t see this as a bad thing. In his mind he is the best around so the only way to get better is to set his goals so high he can?t achieve them and so he makes himself better. Many people see him as a big-headed fool who thinks he is simply the best; though he doesn?t agree with them Karl doesn?t go out of his way to quell these rumours. The reasons being he doesn?t have the time and he knows himself they aren?t true. Karl?s grandfather and father were both in the military attached to Ark Oceania so he sees it as a family tradition to be a great fighter which is why he sets himself up as the bests and acts so superior around others.

His insufferable nature makes it very hard for others to get to know him or make friends with him, not that he minds of course. He sees friendship as a distraction to the new challenge of the Knight-Units so he feels it?s best to avoid it. The only people he truly cares about are himself and his family.

Karl and his father have a good relationship but it is not as good as the one he shares with his mother and siblings because his father hasn?t played that much of a role in Karl?s life what with the his military service. Despite this Karl always thinks of his father while fighting in the hopes that it will give him the strength to battle on.

In times of extreme need Karl can activate Stormrider?s most powerful and most dangerous ability. Charging up the dual rail-guns to full power Karl locks them into an overload cycle whilst opening the seeker missile pods. Once the rail-guns are nearing the critical point Karl cancels the overload and simultaneously fires the guns along with launching nearly his entire payload of missiles. The recoil of this attack is so great that Stormrider must assume its grounded stance so it is unable to move after the blast and must recharge before it is able to move once more.

She will do almost anything to preserve the reputation of her friends and the Seventh Crusade. Alex cares little for the opinions of others who are not close to her. Her carefree attitude and tendency to disobey orders because she thinks she knows better has gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion. In battle Alex will act without thinking much of the consequences. She will do whatever it takes to ensure the success of their mission; she believes that strongly in it. She would not hesitate to give her life for her friends, the Crusade or her home. A mentality some say her father also shared.

Alex is a bit awkward around guys, especially around ones she likes; a lack of men in her life may have been he cause. Alex holds a deep hatred for people who think she has gotten where she is today off her grandfathers/fathers reputations and positions. The appearance of Ares may change depending on the equipment needed for each mission. Ares has two main weapons, a large beam rifle and a large sword for melee combat. So far Alex has not used the sword in combat although she has been trained to wield it.

The Adaptable module was designed to be a mech capable of being changed to suit many different environments and situations. The cost of producing one unit was already much too high to begin putting the module into full production. It also became very time-consuming keeping the module at a high level of maintenance due to the many, many parts that could be taken from the mech and replaced.

The module was already three quarters built before it was handed over to the Crusade VII for use in the ?Knight? project.

[B]-Berserk mode: [/B] [B] [COLOR=Red] Blind Rage [/COLOR] [/B]
In situations of dire need Alex?s mech can unleash a deadly energy beam. This attack can only be focused on one target. Her mech summons all of its remanning power and focuses the energy through its sword/rifle. The weapon gathers the energy and releases it in one massive burst. The beam has incredible explosive power. Afterwards Alex and her mech are left drained of most of their energy; if the beam is powerful enough it can render Alex physically blind for a short period of time. If her sword or rifle are incapable of acting as a focus for the burst the beam is channelled though the mechs hands.

[B]-Special ability: [/B] Alex is telekinetic; she can move inanimate objects with her mind. The largest/heaviest object she has been able to move so far is a metal chair. To move an object takes a certain degree of mental concentration which she is working on but doesn?t fully possess yet. She can draw small objects to herself quickly but the larger/heavier the object the slower it moves and the harder it is to lift.

Alex?s pistols are of an older design and are out dated in construction by more recent models but are still powerful weapons. Each pistol holds a clip of 100 energy bursts; the guns have been modified to keep up with modern standards and are capable of piercing combat amour. The pistols can be set to single shot, three round bursts or full automatic. The pistols can also be modified to shoot traditional ?old fashioned? bullets but Alex has found no use for this mode yet. Her pistols can also be equipped with attachments such as silencers and scopes.

[B]-Bio: [/B] Alex Jayne Menai was practically born into the military. Her great grandfather originally began the tradition and each male afterwards joined the military, Alex was the first female. It was not her original plan to join but being an only child and the last in line, she felt she had to. She knew very little of her parents except that her father was an ace Raven pilot and is still considered MIA [Missing In Action]. After her fathers dissaperance and her mothers death soon after Alex was left in the care of her grandfather at age 5.

Alexandra?s grandfather was not much of a family man; she showed very little affection towards Alex and practically none to anyone else. Alex was more or less raised by her teachers at military boarding school on Crusade IV. Alex kept to herself for most of her schooling and achieved excellent grades. Although some teaches did make remarks about her not being able to efficiently communicate with some of the males in her classes.

After graduation Alexandra was promoted and shipped directly for service on the unfinished Crusade VII. Like all of the personnel aboard the Crusade at the time she was forced into endure people building the ship around her. Alex predominantly flew security patrols around Crusade VII along with many other pilots in ?Ravens?. Well funded saboteurs were a problem at the time who believed that the Crusade should not have been put into production. Alex met a few of her now very close friends while flying a Raven. When Crusade VII became more operational she was recruited into advanced pilot training where she first got a glimpse of the experimental ?Knights?.

After flying various high risk missions and successfully completing her advanced pilot and combat training, Alex was nominated to become part of the ?Knight? program along with seven other individuals.

He looks to be in good shape from his physique and you gauge his height, comparing his to your own, and guess he must be at least 6'3". His black hair is tied back into a ponytail and his goatee is trimmed neatly into shape giving him a clean appearance. Yet, a scar goes down left cheek to his chin giving him a rougher edge. His eyes are colored azure and draw you in with their depth.

You notice he's out of his uniform and wearing a typical outfit focusing on comfort and modesty more than any of the flashier attire the Europeans or Americans offer- a pair of slacks and a button up white shirt today. He still wears his combat boots and there are scuff marks on them from constant use.

[b]Personality[/b]: Dr. Almas is a soft spoken, lighthearted, hard working individual. He enjoys staying behind the scenes and letting others steal the spotlight, finding more satisfaction from real work than fame. He has a deep empathy, care and concern for others mental and physical wellbeing well suited for a Doctor and a mentor or friend. He acts as a mediator of sorts between his shipmates on the Crusade VII due to his timid and diplomatic nature.

A bookworm, he houses a large library of paperback literature even as paper becomes an increasingly unpopular medium of distribution. He enjoys reading and socializing on his times off, often drinking moderately during either.

He has served well in the military, showing confident leadership under fire and excelling in keeping other Knights and their pilots serviceable which has earned him the nickname 'Doc' among the team. As a Doc he is extremely skilled and enjoys his job greatly, finding healing the bodies and minds of man or machine a tiresome if rewarding work.

Constructed with rear battle support in mind the Khan is a modestly powerfully attack and defense craft on it's own until you begin comparing it to the combat-purpose Knights around it. Comparatively this Knight's damage output is significantly less, but more mobile as it's primary armament is mine deployment system on it's left shoulder that releases smart, potent anti-material mines [ammunition is rather plentiful as they are relatively small for the amount of 'umph' in them] built to explode entirely or directionally as needed. Their detonation systems and make up are known only to Doc and his superiors. Their fuel supply is significant enough that they can chase towards or deploy to any area directed by the systems on board the Khan.

Opposite to the mine launcher is the Khan's utility arm, a technological wonder that is multi faceted and can open up to reveal a myriad of tools and instruments necessary for accurate, quick repairs either pinpoint or large scale to get any Knight back in working order be it problems mechanically, electronically or otherwise.

[b]Berserk mode[/b]: [b]Horde[/b] - The Khan unleashes a torrent of nanobots into space, enough to cover a dozen or more Knights. These nanobots have a friendly detection system so that they do repairs on allies and shred into enemies. Indeed, the small robots can cause a lot of damage to internal systems within a minute chewing into wiring, electronics and eventually the pilot itself. Unfortunately they have a 'lifespan' that causes them to cease function within five to ten minutes.

[b]Special ability[/b]: [b]Empathy[/b]- The Doc has an almost uncanny ability to read into people's motives, ambitions, emotions and almost anything else about them to a level bordering on mystifying. He is an expert negotiator, diplomat and orator. He seems aware of the situations between people, casual or political, well before others but, due to his quiet attitude, keeps most of his findings to himself unless asked.

[b]Weapons[/b]: The Doc uses a gas-operated [b]vortex ring gun[/b] which produces a high-speed [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vortex_ring]vortex ring[/url]. It can knock down a 170lb man from 25 meters away with great force, usually stunning or incapacitating the target from the blow. The rate of fire is about one shot every five seconds. The gun itself is the size of submachine gun so it isn't too unwieldy.

[b]Bio/Snippet[/b]:

I was born to a pair of Uyghurs who are more boring than I can describe in words. My father was an Engineer on board Ark Asia, he handled the maintenance on the massive networks that interconnect.. everything. You can't take a dump on Ark Asia without the authorities knowing about how much water was used when you flushed, how much toilet paper you used, how long it took. Call it a remanent of the Autocrat days that preceded the Flight from Earth. It's a wonder crime manages to exist at all but with all those eyes they just seem to have become more blind to what lingers in the cracks of their vision.

Anyway, my parents. My father was a competent enough engineer.. made enough money to start a family. Big plans, big plans he had for his family. So it began with me and.. it ended with me. He forgot one crucial thing- it takes two to tango.

My mother was in the Navy and didn't really want any more kids to bother her Military Career. She's uh, something. Well I mean, she does something. She doesn't really tell me what she does for the Ark Asian military, I think it's classified. I don't need to know apparently. They were good enough parents, they treated me well. My mom was a bit of a twit sometimes but I can't really complain. My dad was mainly quietly loving- kind of detached, I guess the fourth gens are a bit dreary overall for some reason.

Well, onto the main event: me. Ever since I was a child I wanted to be a doctor. It was because of that plague. The plague.. you know, the pandemic that washed across the world in the 3010s? Killed millions? Toppled a couple of governments? All that noise? When I studied that I was fascinated by every little piece of it, I wanted to understand and know it. Maybe try to cure it. Apparently that was different or off since, you know, plagues aren't really as interesting to my peers as they are to me even now so as a kid you can imagine I was very, very popular.

Anyway, that coursework on the plague as a kid in school set me on the path to being a Doctor. There's plenty of ways to get medical training- Could enter the civvie field but the Navy yells at you the most to join up. Recruitment just isn't what it used to be. My mother, rest her soul, yelled at me to join the Navy and eventually I did. I trained well enough. The decided I had some skill at medicine and put me through some of the better courses they can offer to make me a Doctor-doctor. It was years of work, I graduated real early from secondary education at the age of 14 and it took me eight bloody years of tertiary education to get this Doctor title I haul around. It wasn't all that bad really. Other courses involved general military stuff- piloting [ships and Knights], leadership studies, military science, military history and otherwise.

I was selected at 22 to be [i]the[/i] Medical officer on the Crusade VII. I had plenty of credentials and officer training, so I was CaptainDoctorBoywonder of the etc.; etc. it was bland then and it's bland now. You think the thing isn't constructed now, it was worse looking years back. Injuries were either work accidents, military accidents or damn sabotage attacks. It was a real maelstrom of weird, serious and tragic injuries. The most medicine this ship hands out though then and now deals with birth control. Mandatory military thing. I wouldn't trust half these teenagers either if I were them. Can find them lurking in unfinished corridors even if you're damn well blindfolded. Increases morale real quick though, haha. Anyway, this lasted for about a year until they decided I needed more work to do and asked me to do some work for the VII Knights Team as well. That became my permanent job pretty quickly and I've been doing work as the Support Knight for the Team ever since, I moonlight sometimes as a consultant for the Medical staff on the Crusade VII when they have a tough case to crack.

Who are my coworkers? They are everyone and anyone. Young prodigies, people more my age, anything in between. Heh, I even know a telekinetic. Ever seen something hover in front of your eyes and move across the room? It's a neat trick. They are a good bunch though and I keep their bodies and their machines running full steam.

He follows orders to the T and shows respect to those above him but if he has a problem they know. Most others voices fall on a deaf ear unless they annoy Shyne to the point of making an insult, which normally ends in a fight. Some have put it as if he just doesn't care, whether he lives or dies, loves or hates, he is just heartless, souless, lacking what make most us human. No one knows much about his past, so he remains a mystery to most. Normally on his toes on all times, even if he looks relaxed has earned him the nickname 'Paranoia Regale'. regale being latin for king. That is also the name of his Berserk Mode.[/color][/size]

One of the greatest assets Requiem has is a new Tempest EMP system capable of being utilized by many of his offensive weapons. Also equipped with a HADES cloaking device that makes him invisible from most enemy radar as well as cloaking him from many other sensors. Although it is very draining of the mech's energy to leave enganged fully so normally the radar disabling feature is the only one left on.[/color][/size]

[size=1][color=gray]Defensively Requiem has dense but considerably light armor, this enables it for quicker movement and more agility compaired to most. If a quick withdraw is neccesary or a need for speed Requim has two Ion boosters on the back shoulders. [/color][/size]

[size=1][color=gray]Offensively Requiem utilizes two extendable blades housed in the forearm. These blades also are capable of shooting a medium range energy beam. Requiem does have the capability to apply an EMP charge two it's weapons in both beam and blade form, although the system to do this was found to be flawed and they are still working to fix the bugs.[/color][/size]

[size=1][color=gray][b]-Berserk mode:[/b] Paranoia Regale - By feeding a mass amount of energy to the Tempest Shyne is able to release a EMP blast of incredible size and intensity in any or all directions. The blast completely disables most electrical systems, commonly to damage and need of repair. Thought after the blast is used Shyne's guidence system temporarely shuts down, making Requiem extremely difficult to fly, let alone navigate.[/color][/size]

[size=1][color=gray][b]-Special ability: [/b]Shyne's eyesight and coordination are extrodinary, making him an excellent marksman with a gun, and a challenging fighter with most weapons or fist to fist. His eye sight allows him to notice things most people wouldn't, he can even see decently the dark. Another talent he has whether special or just by his nature he is able to blend into surroundings and sneak rather well.[/color][/size]

The ammunition he normally uses is a hybrid between ballistic and laser weaponry, AKA Burning Bullets. It's a special bullet with a small laser in the round. Once fired the laser activates helping the bullet gain velocity as well as allowing it to penetrate most armors, as the laser exits the target the bullet is almost a burning liquid as it enters a body melts more in the body as it cools creating more damage as well a harder process of removal. He keeps 8 extra magazines attached around his belt, 2 of them housing good old fashioned rounds, 2 housing rubber bullets for non lethal means and the rest being Burning Bullets. Also just in case, Shyne keeps 2 boot knives that he is rather adept at using at throwing.[/color][/size]

Shyne hadn't wanted much, sure he wasn't the best of kids, in fact he probably qualified for the opposite. Why would you listen to people that were never there, that the only time they showed attention to you was when you were bad.[/i][/color][/size]

[i][size=1][color=gray]The words, they still burned in the back of Shyne's mind, "Son, we don't think you have enough discipline here, no matter what we do your behavior keeps getting worse and worse and we don't know what to do anymore. Your mother and I...... well we think we need to send you somewhere that you can get the proper guidance you need, we've enrolled you in Military Acadamy, I think, no we think that is what's best for you with all the love in our hearts......." [i][size=1][color=gray]What stuck out even more wasn't the words itself but how Shyne's father delivered them. They were cold, as if he was making a formal address, just simply stating facts. The type of tone that someone would use when ordering food, the type of tone that would seal an eight year olds fate. After that day Shyne became cold, discipline hadn't really been a problem before but in became one, but still Shyne was a natural soldier and a better pilot, and after than day Shyne's parents died, at least to him.[/color][/size][/i]

[size=1][color=gray]Shyne's shot eyes opened, his room was almost in the exact same condition as when it was assigned to him. Many other soldier put up pictures of girlfriends or models, even pictures of fellow comrades. Shyne's walls however had no such decoration, about the only changes to the room were clothes in the closet and a few scattered books. Next to the blook his clock cast a slight blue hue to the cover as it's blue hologram numbers read 3:50 military time. Standing up Shyne cracked his neck before walking over to put on his uniform. He didn't have to be up yet, but he felt like getting in some target practice, and maybe a combat simulator. [/color][/size]

[b]Personality:[/b] Leigh is a teenage girl, and she acts just like it. She's hormonal, impatient, stubborn, impulsive and lazy. Despite the tomboyish way she dresses and carries herself, she is easily flustered and embarrassed, especially when it comes to men, triggering her fair, freckled cheeks to easily turn a crimson red to let the others know. While she is the youngest aboard the Crusade VII, a point often brought up when someone opposes the opinions or plans she shares with the others, she is not in the least bit excluded by the rest of the crew. She doesn't care whether they respect her or not, but she practically demands their attention when it comes to missions where she is needed, knowing well that she has a much better understanding of her duties than the other pilots.

In battle, Leigh shows a level of skill unmatched by other pilots in the field of recon, and a patience her shipmates wish she had back on the Crusade VII. Her fighting skills are decent at best, but she rarely does any fighting when she goes out, as Slugga' isn't equiped with anything very powerful and usually has to stick to 'hand-to-hand' combat. Though sometimes she will pick on something to beat to a pile of a space dust when she needs to blow off steam.

[b]Berserk Mode:[/b] Leigh and Slugga' are capable of becoming completely invisible, from both a pilot's eyes and a mech's sensors. In this mode, they can protect themselves, should they receive a fairly extensive amount of attacks, confuse the enemies, by attacking out of nowhere, and continue forward while the other Knights can't to get whatever it is Leigh was sent to find. However, depending on how much stress is put on the two of them, the amount of time they can sustain this mode varies widely.

[b]Special ability:[/b] Leigh is, by this point, only aware that she can control electrical energy. She can suck the electricity out of objects, but only a small amount at a time. This strange ability leaves her dependant on "charging up" large stores of energy from electrical appliances frequently, lest she be rendered tired and weary when she needs to go into battle. Because of this, she is often seen on her computer, both charging and hacking at the same time.

[b]Weapons:[/b] Leigh uses a [url=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v332/PicKitty/RandomPicchus/sword.png][b]Light Sword[/b][/url] when not piloting Slugga'. Her sword is, actually, just an old, beat up piece of metal attached to a new hilt, but if she's charged up before using it, and can concentrate, she can surround blade with electricity. This way, it packs more of a punch, but this also leaves her more exhausted depending on how long she keeps it 'lit'. As a result, she doesn't use it very frequently, though it is almost always attached to her hip.

[b]Snippet:[/b] Leigh grunted as she struggled to move a rather large crate through one of the many corridors of the Crusade VII, which she referred to as "Sevvy". She quickly gave up on pulling, and then ran around to the back and tried to push, but to no avail. It wasn't going to budge any further. She was amazed she had gotten it this far all by herself, but now she was tired and flustered. Slumping down against the wooden box, she blew the few strands of red hair that had escaped her bun out of her face. She wondered how far she was from where she intended to go, and how often people came through this particular corridor.

Leigh's ears perked up at the sound of footsteps, and grinned as she scrambled to her feet.

It was a young soldier, a lower rank than she was, and he seemed extremely absorbed in reading a small notebook. So absorbed, in fact, that he walked right by her. She rolled her eyes before walking after him a couple steps and calling out to him.

[b]"Oi! You lost?"[/b]

[b]"Hmm?"[/b] the young man asked, sounding startled and glancing up from whatever it was he was reading. When he noticed her Captain's uniform, he instantly saluted, but she waved her hand passively and told him to relax.

[b]"Care t' help me with this?"[/b] she asked, nodding at the crate behind her. His eyes widened at the size of it compared to the size of her, and she saw him stiffle a quick chuckle. She tapped her foot a few times impatiently, waiting for his answer, though she knew he would agree, as no soldier wanted to get on the bad side of an officer.

[b]"Um... Sure, Captain,"[/b] he shrugged, pocketing the small notebook he carried and walking back towards her.

[b]"Careful, it's heavy,"[/b] she warned, but he had already tried lifting it and immediatly dropped it. [b]"I said be careful! And we aren't liftin' it, you idiot."[/b]

[b]"So then... what [i]are[/i] we doing?"[/b] he asked, biting his tongue to keep from calling her a name in return. He didn't find it fair that a girl [i]younger than he was[/i] was able to get away with bossing him around [i]and[/i] call him names.

[b]"Pushin', of course!"[/b]

The box slid reluctantly into a large, but bare room, with the two of them giving one final heave before relaxing. The young soldier glanced around, a bit confused. And by now, he had also become quite curious as to the contents of the crate, and decided to ask about it.

[b]"So, Captain, if you don't mind me asking, what's in the crate? And why did you want it in here?"[/b]

Leigh smiled brightly as she kicked the crate, which fell apart shortly after, to reveal a Billiards table, with several cue sticks, a set of Billiard balls with a rack, and a small baggy filled with blocks of chalk. He was pleased with the item the box had contained, but he was still baffled as to why she had him help move it into this barren room.

[b]"Why, [i]this[/i] room, my dear Ashby,"[/b] she began, faking a formal tone and referring to his last name, which he had shared with her prior to the revealing of the room and the table, [b]"... is the new rec room! The first one they've finished for the Sevvy, too. So I thought it fittin' t' buy a new game table for it. After all, the only thing they ordered was some couches after they finished, which haven't even arrived yet."[/b] The two were very aware of the nakedness of the room by this point, but Leigh was now focused on setting up for her very first game of Billiards since she was a young child.

[b]"Kick ***,"[/b] the young soldier grinned before mentally slapping himself and glancing at his commanding officer. He was used to being verbally harrassed for cursing in front of superiors, but Leigh was too busy admiring and setting up the new game table to hear him. He let out a sigh of relief and asked her if she needed anything else. Her concentration remained on the table, giving him only a wave and mumbling that he was excused.

When she was finished, she realized she didn't have anyone to play with and growled in annoyance. She tried to reach some of the other pilots, but with little success.

[b]"Isn't that just [i]perfect[/i]?"[/b] she asked herself rhetorically. She slammed her cue stick on the table in frustration and left the rec room to find someone who wasn't busy.

[b]Notes:[/b] Despite her Irish name, appearance, and background, Leigh speaks with an American accent, having lived with her American mother and sister without her father.[/indent]

Only a few months have passed since this photo of James was taken, though the physical differences since then are somewhat noticeable. Standing 1.8 metres tall, the young man is athletically inclined, though he has not yet fully matured physically yet.

[B]-Personality: [/B] Despite being little more than an adolescent boy, James displays unusual maturity for his age. He's confident, intelligent and very dependable in most situations, though he like all teenage boys finds himself incapacitated around pretty girls, the fact that James has never actually been involved seriously with a girl yet is evident as he's often reduced to little more than stuttering as a form of communication.

Being one of the youngest officers on Crusade VII, as well as the second youngest Knight pilot by only a matter of weeks, James finds himself slightly intimidated around the older pilots, it's not that they're that much more skilled than him, it's just that they've got a lot more combat experience and he finds that slightly unnerving. As a result James will often stay silent during a briefing, unless directly addressed, and even then will keep his responses as succinct as possible. During actual combat however, James is a lot more comfortable in himself and his own abilities, often letting go a lot of his conscious decisions and relying more on instinct. This unusual method of flying makes him much less predictable than typical pilots and has proven both advantageous and hazardous at time,

Finally, James is an utter idealist, and firmly believes that Crusade VII will discover a new homeworld for his people, from his perspective they've learned from their past mistakes and deserve a chance to start anew.

As is obvious from the appearance of the mech, Paladin is made to dish some very serious damage to opponents. Equipped with armour rivalling that of a Crusade, the Knight module is capable of soaking up successive hits from multiple enemy vectors before responding in kind from it's forward heavy impact cannons, matter-anti-matter grenade launchers and photon pulse repeaters. Nestled within the unit are several thermal condensors, storing the excess thermal energy generated by the unit's weaponry which might otherwise cause systematic failure of the unit.

[B]-Berserk mode:[/B] Overdrive
Once entered into the Berserk Overdrive Mode, Paladin is capable of channelling all the stored thermal energy into it's power converters, radically increasing the mech's fire output and intensity. However the power requirements for Overdrive Mode are substantial and nothing short of a prolonged battle would be capable of generating the necessary energy, as the thermal energy cannot safely be stored within the Paladin unit for long periods of time without the risk of catastrophic system overload.

[B]-Special ability: [/B] Nanobot Immuno-defence and Repair System.
Everything it sounds like, though something of a mouthful, the NIR System is an artificial enhancement to the human immune system, as well as increasing the rate of cell repair. In lay-man's terminology, James is far less susceptible to illness than other human beings, and his rate of recovery from physical trauma, even those considered to be potentially life threatening is considerably improved by normal standards. However this system is not invincible, nor is it's user, and areas of high electromagnetic interference are capable of disabling them, leaving James with a weakened physical condition

The typical side-arm of a Crusade officer, the photon pistol discharges an energy pulse from it?s forward emitter, not unlike projectile weaponry of the past. The weapon is capable of firing around 400 pulses before the internal power pack requires changing and charging, at a rate of approximate 4 rounds per second. Sustained fire is not suggested as it may cause degradation of the internal components. The ?Knight? version of the pistol contains several enhancements over the standard version, including a quicker recharge time, and a greater variety of internal rounds.

Startled from his daydream, the young man looked up to see Fortescue Camdon sitting on the opposite side of the table, his fingers drumming against the metallic surface. James wondered how long he?d be sitting there, or rather a better question was how had he become that lost in thought as to allow Forte to sneak up on him.

Camdon?s expression quickly broke into a smile at Kilburn?s response, the kid still treated nearly all his fellow Knights as superior officers, referring to them as ?Sir? or ?Ma?am?, most of which was taken as a sign of his respect, but also as a humorous example of just how young James really was.

?[b]For the last time, stop calling me ?Sir? James, we?re both Captains.[/b]? The tone was serious, but with an obvious joking inflection. He moved back a bit, giving the younger man some space.

?[b]Sorry si... Forte, what did you want to talk to me about ?[/b]?

?[b]Nothing important, I thought I?d just have a chat with you, see how you?re finding your feet as a Knight pilot.[/b]?

James seemed to relax at the prospect of a normal conversation, from what Forte had seen of him on the simulators, and the rumours going around from the academy, James was a natural combat pilot, steady, reflexive and with an eye that would make most seasoned vets jealous. Away from the eyes of a commander, he was also funny, confident and intelligent, which made it such a shame that he practically shut down when put in the spotlight.

?[b]Thanks, it?s going OK I suppose, I?m used to Ark Europa, so Crusade VII is a bit of change, but being a Knight pilot means doing what?s required of you right ??[/b] He put on a small smile of his own for levity?s sake.

?[b]Yes it is, it?s not an easy job but with that attitude I?m sure you?ll do fine. But seriously James, surely there?s got to be more going around that head of yours than just work.[/b]? He moved forward again, bringing his face to only a few inches away from James? own before giving a quick glance round to see any potential eavesdroppers. ?[b]I mean there?s plenty of nice girls around.[/b]?

James? cheeks reddened noticeably at the mention of women, Forte hoped he hadn?t said something to embarrass the young man.

?[b]Uhh, honestly Forte I haven?t really given it much thought. I mean sure there?s plenty of pretty girls, but I don?t really know the best way of you know, asking them out.[/b]? His face flushed even redder.

Forte had to force himself to suppress the laugh that was in his throat, instead he simply shrugged his shoulders. ?[b]So just be yourself James, you?re a good looking guy with a lot going for you, I?m sure there?s dozens of girls who?d give their right arm just to get a date with you.[/b]?

The young Irishman blinked a few times in disbelief. ?[B]You mean it ?[/b]

?[b]Sure, see that girl just over your right shoulder, she hasn?t stopped looking at you since I walked in.[/b]? James went to look. ?[b]No, no, no don?t look, just play it cool. Listen I?m going to get up in about five seconds, and I want you to go over and get that girl?s number, we have a briefing at 1900 hours, so you can tell me how it went.[/b]

The kid nodded several times, after five seconds Forte, true to his word pushed back his chair.
