[Rachmaninoff]

[COLOR=DarkRed]Sergei had gotten extra assignments as a result of skipping classes the other day. Not that he minded to much. It wasn't often that he got to sit with Kathy without anyone else around. He wasn't about to admit it to anyone, but he loved her pretty voice and getting to work with her. Even when she only spoke it was calm and soothing, without any hint of shrillness. He didn't know how to explain it. But he could hear the tones in her voice since they were similar to what he controlled when he played the simple pipes he always carried with him.

He hadn't even realized that he was daydreaming a bit until Bethany poked him in the side. "[B]Hey you! At that rate you'll end up going hungry since lunch is almost over. So quit spacing![/B]"

Embarrassed Sergei pulled his thoughts back to his friends. Every chance they got, him, Kathy, Alexandra and Bethany always shared lunch together in the cafeteria.

"[B]Sorry, I was thinking about this morning's lessons.[/B]"

Alexandra rolled her eyes, "[B]You mean our[B] [I]boring[/I][/B] lessons.[/B]"

"[B]Maybe for you, but I like my lessons.[/B]" Sergei asserted since he had worked with Kathy for his last class that morning.

Bethany giggled, "[B]Only because you get to work with Kathy, just the two of you and only the teacher. I'm sure Kathy would [I]never[/I] use her power to put the teacher to sleep![/B]"

"[B]Bethany![/B]" Kathy protested only to blush slightly when Bethany and Alexandra started singing loudly... off key no less.

"[B]Would you two quit that![/B]" Sergei pleaded when other students started watching to see what the commotion was.

Bethany and Alexandra just collapsed into wild bursts of laughter at both Kathy's and Sergei's pained expressions. Finally stopping a moment later.

"[B]Okay! Okay![/B]" Bethany said as she wiped tears out of the corner of her eyes. "[B]But you should have seen your expression![/B]" She giggled a little more as she finally got up at the sound of the bell.

A moment later as they were heading for their next class, one that they all shared, Sergei found himself chuckling a bit at what they had done. It was funny, now that he thought about it.

But when he entered the class only for the teacher to make a serious announcement about the principal of the Cheshire High, Alexander Moebius, having gone missing, he forgot all about Alexandra and Bethany teasing him and Kathy in the cafeteria. How in the world could the principal have gone missing? He could hardly wait for classes to be over so he could discuss it with the others. [/COLOR]

[COLOR=DarkRed]When the teacher announced that the Principal, Alexander Moebius was missing, Bethany could no more concentrate on her lessons than anyone else. Much to the chagrin of the teacher. Every possible second that the teacher's attention was elsewhere resulted in low whispers and manifestation of people's powers, since some were easily excited resulting in a loss of control. Rumors via telepathy and other means quickly spread and possible scenarios as to why the Principal would be missing were discussed.

The one that stuck in Bethany's mind the most was one that principal had last been seen arguing with a student. It was maddening since no one seemed to know who and names were being thrown out left and right. Until finally the teacher got angry snapping at the students.

"[B]That's enough![/B]" He bellowed. Startling everyone as the room became completely quiet. "[B]If you can't be bothered to pay attention I'll give each one of you extra assignments for later.[/B]"

Bethany just snickered a bit. After all what did the idiot expect? If he wanted them to pay attention, the teachers should have waited until after classes were over to tell them. She resisted the urge to alter the temperature of the wood of his chair and set it on fire. This teacher, Mr. Davis had always annoyed her with his ever so prim and proper approach to teaching them math. Math was boring enough without him making it even more so. It wasn't easy, but she damped her power down since Mr. Davis had been in a bad mood since a student levitated milk over his head and dropped it on him. The other students wouldn't thank her for putting him in an even more foul mood.

She sighed and shifted her attention back to the teacher, or rather just looked at him. Then finally after what seemed like forever they were finished with both Math and the remaining classes. The moment they were out the door Bethany grabbed Alexandra's and Kathy's sleeves.

"[B]We need to find Shy.[/B]"

"[B]What for?[/B]" Kathy asked.

"[B]He can read minds right? If we can find out who was arguing with the Principal he would be able to tell if they did anything or not right?[/B]"

"[B]What makes you think someone did something to him?[/B]" Sergei asked her.

"[B]Someone has to have done something![/B]" Alexandra reasoned. "[B]Even if he's an annoying dork, he'd never leave the school. He practically lives here. And if he just left, why would the teachers say he's missing?[/B]"

"[B]Right![/B]" Bethany agreed. "[B]Lets go find Shy or some of the others, we should find Anna too since she could probably listen in on the teachers when they think we aren't around.[/B]"

She started to head off and then stopped. "[B]Uh, if that's okay with you guys that is.[/B]" She said, smiling a bit sheepishly when she realized that she had just bossed all of them around.

"[B]Oh I don't know,[/B]" Alexandra said, hiding a grin. "[B]Seems to me that you just want to check out Shy, as well as Ezekiel and Cody since they tend to hang out with Anna. Still I can't blame you, they are kind of cute after all.[/B]"

Bethany started to protest and then glared at Alexandra who giggled at her. "[B]I'm just kidding! Lets go and find them.[/B]"

"[B]Yeah,[/B]" Sergei agreed. "[B]Not that we really need their help.[/B]"

Bethany just smiled. "[B]Of course not.[/B]"[/COLOR]

[FONT=Tahoma][color=blue]Cody looked at his watch and had only then noticed how much time has passed since he, Zeke, and Anna had met up. Classes were just about over for the day, students were out and about walking across the the grass and sidewalks between the dormitories and main building. Cody had told a funny bunch of stories, Anna and Zeke chimed in a couple of times with ones of their own that one of Cody's stories reminded them of.

[b]"Alright, bout time to be getting back to my room. Maybe tomorrow we'll all go to class."[/b] Zeke said, causing some giggling from the three students. Zeke and Cody jumped off of the roof where they were seated and threw their bags onto their backs. Anna stood up and went to fix her jeans, when her foot suddenly gave way from hanging halfway off the roof.

[b]"A..ahh!"[/b] she screamed briefly as she fell forward off the roof. Cody acted quickly and ran himself underneath her, letting Anna fall into his arms in a carrying fashion, Cody almost falling back himself. Anna turned her eyes over to Cody's not realizing yet that she was being held by him until she waved her legs around.

[b]"Oh, eh heh! Thanks Cody...guess I wasn't watching my step."[/b] she said, a little red in the cheeks but trying to hide it by turning her face away.

[b]"Not a problem, as if I'd let you fall."[/b] Cody said with a smile, as he placed her down gently onto her feet.

[b]"Alright Mr. Hero, pack up the slick act and let's get going."[/b] Zeke said, making sure Cody's ego didn't begin to inflate. Anna's smile didn't make that easy however. The three began walking back, but didn't make it far when Anna stopped short in her tracks and leaned up against the wall opposite the hedge maze. She pressed her finger up against the back of her ear and poked her head up a little further.

[b]"Hey guys! Wait a minute..."[/b] she said, thrusting out her arm trying to get Cody and Zeke to stop.

[b]"Hm? What's up?"[/b] Cody asked, him and Zeke looking at each other and shrugging.

[b]"...there are some students...they're talking about Principal Moebius..."[/b] she mentioned, still listening in.

[b]"What about him?"[/b] Zeke asked, placing his hand on his hip. Anna kept listening until she could give a proper answer, which seemed to come in the form of Anna gasping and clutching her bag strap a little tighter.

[b]"He's gone missing! I heard a girl named Alexandra say it to a girl named Kathy."[/b] she said after overhearing their names said to one another. She walked quickly toward her two friends who met her with confused yet wondering expressions.

[b]"Alexandra...Woods?"[/b] Cody asked curiously.

[b]"I don't know..."[/b] Anna responded, shaking her head.

[b]"Oh, you mean the girl from chemistry. Yeah she does hang out with Kathy Mercer, it probably is them."[/b] Zeke mentioned, realizing who Cody meant after he had mentioned her full name.

[b]"Well then, let's go find em! Anna, which way?"[/b] Cody asked as they turned the corner to see the front yard outside the main building in it's entirety. Zeke eyed Cody a bit strangely, raising his eyebrow and clearing his throat. He recognized that tone of voice and ventured a guess on what it was probably in reference to.

[b]"I thought you said you liked that girl, Bethany?"[/b] he asked in a rather inquisitive tone of voice. Anna began listening in a little more intently now that the subject of girls came up between the two, as it did every now and then.

[b]"Hm? Well...yeah, but I mean she IS a bit young. Besides, Alex has that playful attitude that I like. I catch her staring over at me a lot in chem class too, I think she may like me."[/b] Cody explained, folding his arms in a cool manner.

[b]"Sure it's not because you sit right in FRONT of the board Professor Winter writes on!?"[/b] Anna chimed in rather forcefully, clearly not impressed much by the way Cody talked about Alexandra. Cody placed his hand on the back of his head and just laughed subtly, not wanting to get himself into any more trouble. Zeke just giggled to himself finding the exchange rather amusing.

[b]"Hey come on...but seriously, if something happened to Mobeius, we should probably know about the situation. So which way?"[/b] Cody said, assuring his friends of his primary motives.

Anna glanced around and pointed in a direction in which the three of them ran toward. They rounded the giant fountain over to the west side of the field where the side entrance to the main building was. It was mainly used when students wanted to get to the second floor quicker since the stairs outside let straight up. A few more seconds and the backs of the students talking about the principal's dissapearence. Cody yelled out catching their attention, Alexandra and Sergei turned around and waved recognizing Cody, Zeke, and Anna.

[b]"Hm, speak of the devils."[/b] Alex exclaimed, glancing over out of the corner of her eyes over at Bethany.

[b]"Oh stop it!"[/b] Bethany answered, crossing her arms and looking away while her friends got a bit of a laugh from her expression.

Cody walked over to Alexandra and gave a little two finger salute, while Anna walked beside him and bowed her head slightly in a sign of greeting.

[b]"So what's up guys?"[/b] Sergei asked.

[b]"Well, Anna hear overheard you guys talking about a rather interesting topic."[/b] Zeke mentioned, standing beside Anna from the other side.

[b]"Zeke!"[/b] Anna said suddenly, a bit embarrased that he had revealed that she eavesdropped on them so quickly.

[b]"I see, should have figured it out. Well, there was an announcement during class..."[/b] Sergei began to explain.[/color][/FONT]

[Aaryanna_Mom]

[COLOR=DarkRed]When Sergei had finished explaining all the rumors they had heard Cody piped up.

?[B]I agree with Alexandra,[/B]? he said, earning a grin from her, ?[B]Moebius would never leave and even if he had why would the school announce that he was missing? Something?s wrong.[/B]?

?[B]I think something is wrong too,[/B]? Kathy agreed. ?[B]For the school to decide to announce that he is missing in the middle of the school day no less means the adults are scared.[/B]?

?[B]Yeah, but of what?[/B]? Zeke asked.

Bethany shook her head, ?[B]I don?t know, perhaps the student he argued with did something to him? Out of all the names we heard being tossed back and fourth two of them are bullies. Perhaps we should check them out?[/B]?

?[B]Uh Bethany[/B],? Sergei said, ?[B]I doubt they?ll admit to doing anything if we ask them.[/B]?

?[B]We don?t have to ask them, one of them Drake if I remember correctly is in detention for dropping milk all over Mr. Davis. We could sneak into his room at the dorm and look though his stuff.[/B]?

The others just stared at her for a moment. ?[B]Don?t you think that?s a bit much?[/B]? Kathy finally asked.

Anna shook her head, ?[B]No that?s actually a good idea, even if it will get us into trouble if we?re caught.[/B]? Both Zeke and Cody shot a strange glance at Anna before shrugging and agreeing.

?[B]What if we don?t find anything?[/B]? Zeke asked as they headed towards the boys dorm.

?[B]We could always check his locker at school,[/B]? Alexandra suggested.

?[B]Lets get going then, before that dork is finished with detention then.[/B]? Cody said as he took the lead. Winking at Alexandra and Bethany as he walked past them.

Sergei just rolled his eyes and followed along. Not that he didn?t like Zeke, Cody or Anna, but he would have rather been alone with just the others. Dragging his feet he followed them up the outside stairs leading to the top level of the boys dorms and down the hall to where Drake?s room was located. At least they hadn?t run into Shy or the others. Sergei hated it when people read his thoughts. [/COLOR]

[OMNOMNOMALY]

[COLOR=DarkRed][FONT=Trebuchet MS][B]"We should probably split up, you know." [/B] Alexandra said as the group walked down the hallway.

[B]"I agree." [/B] Anna replied. [B]"How should we divide up?"[/B] Alexandra and Kathy shrugged, and Cody piped in.

[B]"I'll go with Alexandra and Bethany to Drake's room!"[/B] He grinned and Alex nudged him in the stomache, smirking. Kathy and Sergei exchanged undecipherable looks.

[B]"Don't think we don't know about your reputation, Don Juan." [/B] Alex said to him, and laughed. His grin widened and he put his arms behind his head.

[B]"I can't say I know what you're talking about.." [/B] Zeke met Sergei's eyes and rolled his own. Typical Cody.

[B]"Oh please."[/B] Cut in Anna. [B]"We're wasting time. Those groups will do, now you three get going!"[/B] She barked at Alex and Cody, and gave Cody a little push in the direction of the end of the hall. [B]"I'll call your cell when we spot him leaving detention."[/B] she called after them, as the three broke off from the group and headed down the last stretch of hallway. Cody gave her a wave of assent without turning around.

[B]"Are all boys this disgusting?"[/B] Bethany wrinkled her nose as she daintily stepped into the room, narrowly avoiding a pile of dirty clothes. Alexandra nodded her head in agreement.

[B]"Not even close. I'll have you know that I am quite hygenic!"[/B] retorted Cody.

[B]"Shut up you two!"[/B] hissed Alexandra. [B]"You realize we could very well get expelled if we're caught. We are breaking and entering here! It's probably best to talk as little as possible, if you can believe it."[/B]

[B]"Sorry, sorry.."[/B] Cody mumbled. He wasn't used to girls chastising him like that, outside of Anna. [B]"What should I be looking for?"[/B] he asked, now whispering.

[B]"Anything out of the ordinary, I guess... It's a shame we don't have more time or we could boot up his computer and I could look through his files and history." [/B] Alexandra looked at the sleek laptop on his desk wistfully. It looked out of place amongst all the garbage strewn about. [B]"That is a beautiful piece of machinery..."[/B]

[B]"Why don't we take it?"[/B] Cody murmered, sweeping a sock off the top of the laptop. Bethany gaped at him.

[B]"You can't be serious. I know I suggested this, but stealing? That's crossing the line..."[/B]

[B]"Think of it as borrowing then, if it makes you feel better. It's all we can do right now. If he's innocent, we'll see that and we'll return it. If not, then we can do something about it and in the long run, assuming that, our 'stealing' is really not a big deal."[/B]

[B]"I don't know..." [/B] replied Alexandra in a hushed tone.

[B]"I guess..." [/B] said Bethany. It didn't matter anyway, Cody already had his backpack open, and was carefully putting the laptop into it. Alexandra caught Bethany's eye and shrugged. She had to admit, Cody was persuasive. "[B]I'll peek out the doorway to see if anybody is coming. Then we can get out of here."[/B] The two nodded and Bethany eased her way over to the door, to peek out. It was clear. As soon as she turned to say that to the group, Cody's phone went off. Loudly.

[B]"Shit!" [/B] Cody urgently ripped the cellphone out of his pocket and answered it. [B]"Hello?"[/B] he hissed. He wasn't sure if the person on the other end wasn't answering or if his heart was just beating really loudly in his ears. Bethany looked out into the hallway again, and Alex clutched at her chest, the look of surprise still on her face. Cody finally heard the voice on the other end. It was Anna.

[B]"Did you hear me? I said get out of there, now! Drake was just let out of detention, and he is heading your way, in a hurry."[/B]

[B]"Understood. We're done here."[/B] Cody responded. [B]"We'll meet you behind the janitorial shed."[/B] he added, and quickly clicked his cellphone closed. [B]"He's on his way. We've got to move." [/B] He told the two girls. They nodded, and quickly crept out of the room. Seconds later, they were running down the emergency steps on the side of the building. They didn't stop until they were at the shed.

[B]"Took you guys long enough." [/B] Was the first thing Zeke said to them.[/FONT][/COLOR]

[COLOR=Blue]"[B]This is useless![/B]" Anna said with disgust as she shut the laptop down. "[B]There's nothing here, no personal files, just homework and video games.[/B]"

The others looked over at her each of them thinking the same thing. They had hoped to find something on Drake?s laptop but so far they had seen nothing out of the ordinary.

"[B]If there?s nothing on the laptop then perhaps we should search his locker?[/B]" Alexandra wondered. "[B]Maybe he has some disks there that we could look at.[/B]"

Anna smirked a little, "[B]That?s a good idea, I know, these two,[/B]" She indicated both Zeke and Cody with a wave of her hand. "[B]Hide all their naughty stuff on disks instead of keeping it on their laptops hard drive.[/B]" A statement that was met with protests until they saw Anna winking at them.

"[B]Not me,[/B]" Cody said innocently. [B]"But if Drake had something to do with Moebius disappearing you can bet he wouldn?t leave it on his laptop for just anyone to find. So lets go check his locker.[/B]"

The others nodded in agreement; Anna slipped the laptop into her backpack as they headed towards the school. She put the backpack on and then Anna reached out and grabbed Cody's right arm.

"[B]I'm going to see if I can overhear the teachers so don't let me stumble all right?[/B]"

Cody reached over and took her hand in his left one. "[B]Of course.[/B]" He said gallantly.

Anna ignored the looks from Kathy, Bethany, Alexandra and Sergei. Zeke of course just ignored it since he knew that Anna couldn't focus on walking somewhere while listening at the same time. At least not yet. They were almost to the school when Anna called out for them to stop. The group crowed around her curious as to what she had overheard.

"[B]The teachers are in the main conference room near the Principals office. They think something bad has happened to Moebius, they're concerned that he may be dead! That's why they told all the students![/B]"

"[B]You've got to be kidding![/B]" Sergei stated his eyes wide. "[B]I mean who'd want to kill Moebius? Sure he's annoying and all, but he's still a pretty decent guy.[/B]"

"[B]I don't know,[/B]" Anna said with a shake of her head. "[B]And the teachers just left so no one's discussing it anymore.[/B]" She bit her lower lip. "[B]I must have missed the part where they were talking about why they think he's dead. All I caught was a part where they were arguing over the decision to tell everyone. One of them at the end said, [I]it's pointless, Moebius is probably already dead[/I].[/B]"

"[B]Damn, if someone really killed Moebis we've got to do something.[/B]" Zeke shook his head in disgust. "[B]I mean, if people start showing up dead they'll shut this place down. It's hard enough having powers without the rest of the world thinking we're all freaks that need to be put down.[/B]"

Anna let go of Cody's arm, "[B]All right, lets hurry then.[/B]" Quickly she took off. It was bad enough that this was her senior year and that once she was done she would be sent elsewhere, but there was no way in hell she was going to let something like this force them to leave sooner.

She was so focused on heading for the locker that it wasn't until the others called after her to slow down that she realized that she was leaving them behind. Anna paused and waited for them to catch her.

"[B]Sorry about that.[/B]" She apologized.

Then a few minutes later they had found Drake's locker. It was easy to know which one was his since all lockers due to the students having unique needs had their name on it. It only took them a few minutes to find it. Anna started to reach forward to cut the lock when Cody beat her to it.

"[B]Allow me,[/B]" He said with a smile.[/COLOR]

[Darren]

[COLOR=DarkGreen][SIZE=1]Darren was on his bed, doing homework and eating as usual. He was pretty sore from his morning class, but what was really eating away at him was that Alexander Moebius was missing. The man that was responsible for creating such good things at Cheshire was gone, and Darren wasn't the only one trying to find out what had happened.

[B]"What's up nerd?"[/B] Dwight burst into his room. He looked like he'd been running, but showed no sign of fear, so he couldn't have been up to anything horrible.

[B]"Did you hear about the principal?"[/B] Darren asked

[B]"Yeah,"[/B] he said like it was common knowledge. It was since they announced it in class, but since when did Dwight go to class. [B]"That's why I'm here. We're going to investigate."[/B]

[B]"You're out of your mind! I'm doing homwork and preparing for that term paper in physics. Something you should be doing too!"[/B]

[B]"No worries. And I've got some really good info on Moebius, you should really come."[/B] Dwight was really excited about this, it could only mean that there really was some juicy rumor behind it all.

[B]"Okay, tell me."[/B]

[B]"Not until you agree to come with me and the others."[/B]

[B]"Others?"[/B] Leave it to Dwight to bring other innocent people into his schemes.

[B]"I know what you're thinking, but this time, it wasn't me at all. Some of the guys just started telling me information and before I knew it, I was drafted as some sort of helper, but I want you to come with me."[/B] He was almost begging, a sight Darren wasn't used to.

[B]"Well what will you give me in return?"[/B]

There was a long, awkward pause by Dwight. What could he give that Darren would want. Bartering had never been his strong suit either. Finally he said, [B]I'll do your homework for a week."[/B]

Darren busted out laughing. Dwight couldn't do homework and acutally expect to get anything better than a D-. Dwight knew this and began laughing along with him.

[B]"Okay okay, I'll go with you, but no more bad jokes about homework."[/B] As the two began exiting the dorm room, he added, [B]"So what's all this information you've been getting?"[/B][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[Ezekiel]

[COLOR=Blue]Ezekiel turned his back to Cody as his friend placed his hand against the locker door. At times like this Ezekiel wished his power was more useful, but he guessed he shouldn't be one to complain. He let Cody do his thing, distracting anyone who walked past with his disarming smile.

He guessed that the large group of students wasn't as inconspicuous as they would have liked, but Alexander was doing her part to make them all look casual, too, fiddling with a locker as though it was her own as she talked to Bethany.

Finally Cody stood back with a gaping hole in the locker door where the latch used to be. He grinned and bowed, faltering only slightly when he glanced inside.

Anna groaned in frustration and stuck her hands in, pulling them out with a pair of running shoes in one hand and a textbook in the other. There didn't seem to be anything else hidden in the cold metal confines .

However, Sergei stepped forward and without even a word to the others pressed his hands against the roof of the locker. He grunted, closed his eyes in concentration, and then with a squeal of metal pulled down a sheet of metal. "Ta-da." he smiled, placing the metal cover carefully against the base of the locker. He put his hands up again, digging in the small hidden area to reveal a wad of notes and photos, as well as a roll of money.

Zeke's eyebrows shot up in surprise as he took the photos, bound with an elastic band, off the top of the pile.

"[B]Pictures of students."[/B] He commented as he riffled through them quickly, wincing as he saw one of Bethany, then one of Anna. He stopped and tossed them back to Sergei, scratching his cheek thoughtfully.

[B]"We should get out of here and find somewhere more secluded to check this stuff out. Who knows what we're going to find in here."[/B][/COLOR]

[Sandy]

[FONT=Century Gothic]My dear survivor candidates, this is your final chance to try and win this challenge, since it's time for our third and last theme.

I have also decided to ante things up by changing the reward quite a bit. Instead of forming two teams of six, [B]the winning team will form two teams of five[/B]. This means only [B]ten[/B] of you will continue the game, and [B]three[/B] of you will be evicted.

This is partially due to the amount of inactive players (who despite their inactivity haven't contacted me to say they want out). Nevertheless, it's up to the winners to deside if they want to keep those players in and give the boot to more potentially threatening players.

The [COLOR=Blue]Titanic Army of Humankind[/COLOR] battle invading aliens for the dominion of Earth! They are faced against the greedy [COLOR=Green]Lolloths[/COLOR], the bloodthirsty [COLOR=DarkOrange]Argrs[/COLOR] and the proud [COLOR=DarkRed]Merceri[/COLOR], three space-traveling races who show no love nor mercy to their rivals in conquesting habitable planets! Will mankind be able to defend their home planet from these intergalactic threats? Or will one of the alien races gain supremacy of the Blue Planet? This is a real war of the worlds![/center][/font][/color]

Note that the four syndicates are marked with the four team colors and named similarly to the teams. This naturally indicates the side which each team will be playing. Also, since the theme is "Space Opera", you have to think big with this one.[/FONT]

[COLOR=DarkRed]It was no surprise to Kth'ya Mr'cere, Commander of the invasion fleet that had been sent to conquer Earth, that they arrived only to find that both the greedy [COLOR=Green][B]Lolloths[/B][/COLOR] and the bloodthirsty [COLOR=Orange][B]Argrs[/B][/COLOR] had come as well. The [B]Merceri[/B] had been steadily gaining influence and power in the known galaxy and had she been in their shoes she would have done the same. Moved in to take the prize in an attempt to thwart their efforts.

But the [B]Merceri[/B] like always would be victorious. It did not matter that the [COLOR=Blue][B]Titanic Army of Humankind[/B][/COLOR] was massive, they would be no match for their wit and cunning, nor for the powerful fleet under her command. Though not as powerful as their flagship the [B][I]Mercenary[/I][/B], the rest of the battleships under her command were more than enough to deal with Earth. No the real trouble would be keeping an eye out for treachery on the part of the [COLOR=Green][B]Lolloths[/B][/COLOR] and the [COLOR=Orange][B]Argrs[/B][/COLOR] who would happily stab them in the back.

Kth'ya was still waiting on her immediate crew to gather information. They had already been issued a warning to leave this region of space by those who lead the [COLOR=Blue][B]Titanic Army of Humankind[/B][/COLOR]. Kth'ya had laughed in their faces. As if they could order her around! Not a chance. She had coldly informed them to prepare to answer to her orders and then cut the communication. Though until they were ready they were keeping their distance from Earth, close to a red planet they called Mars. The other two invasion fleets doing the same, staying close to Earth and yet keeping their distance from the others. For now that is.

As her crew worked on preparing the final touches for how the invasion was to be done, Kth'ya analyzed the strengths of their rivals. For now they were no threat, but once battle begun, they would have to watch their backs. It would be just like them to wait until they had defeated the enemy only to attempt to move in and seize the prize by attacking them while they were tired from battle. It was how both Cia'ryst and her assistant Gin'av had died. They had been caught by surprise.

Kth'ya continued reading the information the ships scanners were getting, she would not be caught off guard in battle like Cia'ryst and her assistant Gin'av had been. And when the battle was done. Her and her crew would stand victorious. [/COLOR]

[COLOR=Blue]Cecile wondered just how they would defend their world from the three races that had come, intent on conquering their home. Not that she didn't think they couldn't do it, no it was more that realistically, even she could see that it would be a fierce battle. And unlike the invaders, for them losing would mean that their home would be taken. Something that at all costs, had to be stopped.

Cecile walked up to the door to the main conference room where the others were already preparing to respond to the threat. She pressed the button to alert the Commander that she was there and when the door opened she entered. Joining him as well as the others who were going over their defenses and strategy.

"[B]Well?[/B]" The Commander asked her when she entered the room.

Cecile shook her head. "[B]I'm sorry sir, they did not heed the order to leave this region of space.[/B]" She did not bother to tell them that the Commander of the Merceri's had merely laughed at her.

"[B]I would have been surprised if they did. They do have a reputation of simply taking over habitable planets, regardless if they are inhabited or not.[/B]"

"[B]Yes sir.[/B]" Cecile replied.

"[B]Well no matter,[/B]" he waved her over to where they were working on the defense plans. "[B]We won't let them take our home. Besides we have the advantage.[/B]"

"[B]How do you figure that sir?[/B]" Cecile asked.

"[B]It's simple, the greedy Lolloths, the bloodthirsty Argrs and the proud Merceri, as they are often called are divided. Each one intent on not only taking our world but on preventing the other from doing so. Not only must they attempt to overcome our defenses but guard against the other two forces as well.

The fact that they are attempting to take over Earth without dealing with their enemies first will be their undoing. Not only that they underestimate how well trained our army is. We will not fall so easily.[/B]"

Cecile did not respond. But instead looked at the information displayed on the computer console in the middle of the table. They did have excellent defenses and as she noticed how things were being set up, she noticed a number of things that would surely surprise their enemies. She wished she did not have to fight. But since they failed to heed the warning, so be it.

"[B]Now,[/B]" the Commander said causing everyone to look at him. "[B]This is what we are going to do.[/B]"

Cecile listened and then even she smiled a bit. Oh this would be good. It was a pity she would not be able to see the expression of the arrogant Commander of the Merceri's once she realized what was happening.[/COLOR]

[Rachmaninoff]

[COLOR=DarkRed]Gei'Ser returned to the bridge of the Mercenary since he had finished making sure everyone had double checked all their weapons and gear. He entered the bridge and headed for his seat near the Commander.

"[B]I take it that you are finished Gei'Ser?[/B]" Kth'ya asked him.

"[B]Yes Commander, everyone is ready, what about Bany'eth? Didn't you send her out to scout the area?[/B]" He asked.

"[B]I did, she just returned a few minutes ago and is heading here with her report as well.[/B]" The Commander turned to Axel'nrad, "[B]What about you Axel'nrad, have you finished hacking into the Titanic Army of Humankind's systems?[/B]"

Axel'nrad snickered. "[B]Already done Commander. I think you'll like what I got.[/B]"

Gei'Ser turend to Axel'nrad, "[B]I don't suppose you thought of hacking into both the Lolloths and the Argrs systems? It would be useful to see if we could get information on them, don't you think Commander?[/B]"

"[B]It would, but for the moment I'm more interested in the Titanic Army of...[/B]" she grimaced. "[B]Damn if that isn't a stupid and long name. We should change it to something more fitting.[/B]" She paused thinking for a moment. Then snapped her fingers.

"[B]I've got it! We'll call them TAM![/B]"

Gei'Ser raised an eyebrow, "[B]That seems even more silly if you ask me Commander. And how did you come up with an M instead of an H? I thought it was Humankind not Mankind.[/B]"

"[B]I changed it, since it's easier to think of something for Mankind instead of Humankind. [/B]" Then Kth'ya snickered, "[B] That way it can stand for Terribly Arrogant Morons. Much better than Terribly Arrogant Humans right?[/B]"

Axel'nrad giggled. "[B]Thats almost as bad as the original. Whether it's Morons or Humans.[/B]"

"[B]Well as soon as one of you thinks of something better, we'll use it. So for now...[/B]" Kth'ya said in a mock offended tone, "[B]TAM it is. Now as soon as Bany'eth gets here we'll start going over everything. Once we finish finalizing our invasion plans, it will be time to take action.[/B]" She smiled. "[B]I'm going to enjoy this.[/B]"

Gei'Ser turned at the sound of the bridge doors opening to admit Bany'eth. "[B]It's about time slowpoke![/B]" He joked as she took her seat.

Bany'eth just made a face at Gei'Ser and turned to face the Commander. "[B]Here's what I found out Commander.[/B]"

The rest of them gathered around to listen to her report. Gei'Ser just smiled to himself, his mind still on thoughts of finally getting revenge on the Argrs for the death of his family. Though he was looking forward to conquering Earth as well. It was going to be a glorious day in the history of the Merceri.[/COLOR]

[i]Now let's see... what do we have here?[/i] Jake thought. He engaged the base anti-gravity jets on the bottom of his small, comfortable ship and landed on the asteroid. It was mostly barren aside from something very peculiar.

Everywhere the light from a nearby moon touched the asteroid, small purple glowing mushrooms sprouted on the surface. It was very pretty, especially in the areas that the moonlight [i]always[/i] touched where the mushrooms grew to be at least 10 feet tall.

[i]I'll have to take a sample back to HQ.[/i] Jake reckoned. He dug a small spade out of his suit and shoveled a tiny sample into a plastic bag, which he placed back in his suit. He pulled out a black recording device and clicked the button on the side.

"It seems as though the... mushrooms are actually living creatures. They grow by absorbing any light source or energy. They also seem to be able to pull this energy from large distances, taking all the light away from Base #023 making it appear like something was stealing the actually energy when really it was just the light." Jake paused. "I think... it would be best if I didn't bring a sample."

He took the plastic bag and dumped the remains on the ground. He watched as the mushrooms burrowed back in the ground. [i]Don't want these fellers stealing my headlights, hah.[/i]

"The best way to deal with this problem would be to blow up the asteroid." he told the recording device. "...oh my..."

Jake looked up and standing in front of him was a large, rock beast just [i]covered[/i] in the purple mushrooms. They had taken over its body and mind, turning it into a defense mechanism to ward away any threats.

As for the challenge, I have to say that I'm at lost here. [color=Gold]The Sunflowers[/color] have the visual upper hand, but [color=Red]the Aces[/color] have a more suitable name and theme considering this game. Both of you chose great captains, as well.

As much as both of the teams would deserve to win, I have to give it to [B]the Aces[/B], just based on the fact that their flag and name are connected to this game, and better describe them as a team as well.

I have received the list of opposing players from [color=red]the Aces[/color], so this challenge is ready to begin. Here’s what it is all about.
[indent][b]1.[/b] Each player from the two teams will be pitted against an opponent from the rivaling team to do a [b]short assignment[/b]. The tasks are different for each competing pair, and the strengths and weaknesses of each player are taken into consideration in them.

I have to say that I was expecting a bit more from the two of you, especially when it came to using symbols and metaphores (basic elements in japanese poetry). Technically both entries are equally correct, but neither of them went very deep into the essence of this game.
