RPG OtakuBoards Survivor 4: Team Argo [E]

I don?t know what to say about the concern in regards to our team name. I?ve never tried to come up with a name so I keep drawing a blank. Or rather mine seem a bit less catchy like Team Eternal Unity. So unless we agree on a change perhaps we should stick with the first choice?

[B]What superpower would you most like to have?[/B]

When I was younger I wanted to be able to fly. I still do. If you were to add in being able to survive without oxygen, that would be perfect as I?d fly up and take a look at the world from above.

Hmmm?there have been so many, but last year my brother celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary by having a shotgun wedding. Until he retired he was a sheriff and his former buddies got together along with the current authorities to set it up so they could have empty shotguns and do the whole thing as if it was real. What made it even more fun is his kids planned it so other than my brother and his wife, (who did not know about it) pretty much the whole town was in on it, (they live in a very small town) the surprised look on their faces was priceless since they knew we would be celebrating it but not that it would be done in a shotgun style. Everyone had a great time.

Sadly no, they look like great fun too since I?ve seen my daughter playing them. But with my vision, my hand and eye coordination is not up to the task. And since I?ve never really played them I don?t miss it.

Continuing my thought from last time about the whole writing bit, and as corny as this sounds to me, how about [B]Team Penmaster[/B]? (Reminds me of the Neverending Story, or Pagemaster.) I feel like I kind of need to suggest [I]something[/I], or else we might all end foundering in indecision, you know? If it sounds stupid, it'll sound stupid, so throw some thoughts down. Why [i]shouldn't[/i] we be [u]Team Argo[/u]? We are, if you all will allow me to disgustingly philosohpical for a moment, on a quest, not for Golden Fleece, but for winning the game and title of OtakuBoards Survivor. The Argo was a strong ship and allowed for a successful journey. It was built with the help of Athena, goddess of wisdom and strategic war. Our team leader [b]Kathy[/b] seems like a wise person to me, and aren't we going to to be fighting it out for the winning position?

I think Argo fits, I like it, and I don't think anyone should doubt why it's a good name for us.

And out of the original two I liked the first one the best.

[SIZE=1]Well, considering we hardly have any time left and I don't think I'll have time to make a new flag, I just made an edit to the second one by putting a black border around it like in the first flag.

I prefer the second flag, but Kathy is our team leader and I'm happy with whatever she choses for us. The first one is pretty fun, if you remember that movie for all its hilarity.

I personally like the first banner more, but it's up to the team to decide, or short of that, Kathy. We've had plenty of time to come up with a post, and I'm afraid our indecisiveness is going to hurt us in this first challenge.

We are Team Argo, our color is orange and Kathy is our proud captain. Go!

But, as [COLOR=Blue]Shy[/COLOR] and I said, the guidelines didn't say "strong", or even "awesome", or anything like that. The suggestion to change was only put out because, while the name is great [I]and[/I] awesome, it didn't exactly fit the format.

Still, no sense prating on about what we did or should've/shouldn't've done (yo, son, double contraction). Look forward now to the rest of the game, and sadly one of us must leave. (Or, "and one of us must leave sadly." Or both. :( )

At least we know we pulled through and that it was not from a lack of effort. Everyone did a great job in my opinion.

I think this technically won the challenge, too. Sakura isn't a team leader, so there post shouldn't count. This means we'll get a new member for our team from the reserves... maybe we can get kalon back?

And yes, I also found the 'race' aspect to this challenge a little unfair. If I wasn't such a night owl I only now would have seen this week's challenge, and by then it could be too late.

Well even if we came in second, we may not gain a member, but we won?t have to vote anyone out either. I was going on the premise that we would take second and therefore would not be faced with voting out another member. I feel bad enough for doing it the first time around.

At least Sandy clarified that not all of the challenges would be based on speed, because to tell the truth I would have no interest in continuing at that point. This round excluded so many people and on some level I?m actually annoyed over it.

And it didn?t help that the whole time I was working on it I[I] knew [/I]I had an unfair advantage over my daughter who was at school as well as other people who were at work. I like to win fairly; this doesn't feel like a victory at all.

And yes I?ll admit that I feel like I cheated since I could work on it while others couldn?t. But at the same time since I could see that another member of the other team was on I didn?t want to let the rest of you down when I could do something. I think I?ll end this since I?m getting annoyed again. :animesigh

Wow. That's one heck of a challenge. I am very glad this'll be going for a week and a half. I'm also glad I get my upcoming performance out of the way Friday night, so I'll be a little less stressed about not practicing. (^_^)

Interesting how [COLOR=DarkRed]Sandy[/COLOR] assigned each team a genre corresponding to their name. So, we, the Argonauts, have [COLOR=DarkOrange]Fantastic Adventure[/COLOR]. I'll start thinking about it this evening. In the meantime, any rudimantary ideas for plot/characters/etc.? (Man, [COLOR=Blue]Mom[/COLOR], if only we had gotten Murder/Mystery. I'd be dragging out all my old Conan Doyles and Agatha Christies, and Murder, She Wrote would have come in handy, too. Darn.)[/FONT]

[size=1]Sandy said 'Fantastic Adventure,' so it's obvious we should do a short adventure story with a fantasy twist. The first thought that came into my mind was doing something along the lines of Jason and the Argonauts? I think it's important we hammer out the story quickly, so we can spend as much time as possible trying to polish and improve the work.

In my experience, the best thing for us to do is hammer out the the major story points together. From there we can make an outline, adding more and more detail as we see fit. Next would be getting one of us to sit down and actually write it, so once we have a semi-finished product everyone can throw in their own corrections and opinions. All of us are creative wrtiers, so this is one challenge we shouldn't have a problem with.

I have some experience (not a lot) with script format, so I can write out the final script. However, if someone else has more experience, or would like to give it a try, please do. I may not have time to give it my full attention with Nifty Fifty and other online projects looming on the horizon.

Having said that, I'm very excited about this challenge and can't wait to see what we come up with.

Goodness I haven?t seen Jason and the Argonauts since it came out in 1963. And I never got around to watching the version done in 2000 by Hallmark. So I?ll have to see if I can find a way to either read up on it or watch the show again.
