[COLOR=DarkRed]Well other than to have some brief profile information I don't really have any ideas at the moment. Since we will be in the same story as the rest of the players I'm thinking that's really going to shake things up. Making some of what we do dependent on what the others have done.

We could go as a team of mercenaries or simply a group of adventurers intent on recovering the jewel. Or we could even turn one of our members into a questing hero that we are helping out. And I'm thinking we don't have to stick to either serious or funny since we can be fairly serious and yet throw in some humor while we are at it. ^_~

So I say once we hear from my mom and get our profiles up that we get started! :catgirl: [/COLOR]

All of those suggestions sound good to me. So shall we get a profile of our characters up so we can start? Also, if there is a specific theme you want to follow just let me know. We can do serious, funny or the mercenaries questing to recover the jewel and obtain the prize money, or the group helping the questing hero. So what do all of you prefer since any of the ideas presented so far sound fun to me. :catgirl:

I love the idea of keeping with our team name, and being a rebel band of mercenaries out to retrieve the jewel for our own benefit of gaining the reward. We could even play tricks on the other teams to get ahead, hehe.

I'm going to put a brief profile here and then I'm going to get things started by posting. I have an idea that I think will be fun. ;)

[B]Gender: [/B]Female

[B]Special Skills:[/B] Kathy is skilled with twin swords having been taught by her father who was also a mercenary. In addition to that she knows the most basic of healing spells as well as what types of plants and herbs can be used for various wounds.
[B]Description:[/B] Kathy is on the tall side nearly reaching six feet high. With short brown hair and eyes.
[B]Personality: [/B] Kathy lives for finding treasure or for hunting down criminals, though as a mercenary she'll take just about any job. Though she's appears to be fairly easy going, when it comes to getting the job done she can be rather ruthless. Though she never expected to be the leader of a band of mercenaries she takes her role very seriously since in many ways she thinks of them as her family since other than her father she has no living relatives.
[B]Short Bio: [/B] Once her father retired Kathy who until then had been one of the members of the mercenary group took over as their new leader. Since then they have been making a name for themselves by surprising the competition with their cunning and wit as they've won many challenges and completed jobs that no one thought they could.

All right, in a little while I'll have my first post up. It will be a bit short since I will be setting the stage for the rest of you to post. ;)

[B]Name:[/B] Well since Alexa is a little unconventional for the times, I'll go with Alexandra and then you guys can shorten it like a nickname wherever you see fit. Alexandra Woods.
[B]Gender:[/B] Female
[B]Age:[/B] 18
[B]Special Skills: [/B] Alexandra is exceptionally agile, and very light on her feet, so she is particularly skilled at sneaking into places, and stealing. She is also rather skilled at close range combat.
[B]Description:[/B] Not very tall, standing at about 5'7, with shoulder length black hair and blue eyes.
[B]Personality:[/B] Energetic and outgoing, her mouth gets her into far too many fights, and she sometimes gets her teammates into tight situations because of her "talent" at pissing people off by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. She's enthusiastic when it comes to her job, and is willing to do just about anything to finish it.
[B]Short Bio:[/B] Alexandra lost her parents when she was young, and lived on the streets where she learned to steal to survive. She was picked up by the group after they witnessed her pickpocket an unwitting man with great ease.

[B]Special Skills:[/B] Though Bethany uses a bow and a dagger, she is primarily a combat mage.
[B]Description:[/B] Bethany is about 5'9 with blond hair that goes a few inches past her shoulders and blue eyes.
[B]Personality: [/B] Bethany is pig headed and stubborn. She follows orders just fine but if she thinks her way is better she can and does deviate from what she's suppose to do. Something that often gets her in trouble. Especially since she'll argue with Kathy if she's positive that she's right.
[B]Short Bio: [/B] Bethany became a mercenary when she ran away from home when she was fourteen after learning that her parents had betrothed her to an older man. Something that put them at odds since she wanted to attend a school for magic instead of getting married. When they said no, she took some of the family heirlooms, sold them for gold and headed for a well known magic school where she studied for several years.

When they found out that she had run away from home she was kicked out and ended up being a part of Kathy's mercenary team when they came across her fighting some monsters and winning.

Now she uses her combat magic to aid them in battle while studying new spells on the side. Though since she no longer has a teacher, sometimes she gets new spells wrong and makes quite the mess before she finally figures it out. [/COLOR]

Excellent start everyone. Here's my profile:

[B]Gender: [/B] Male
[B]Age: [/B] 28
[B]Special Skills:[/B] Sergei is both a swordsman and a mage. Though since his spells lack the power that Bethany's does. He uses a special sword that he can temporary imbue the power of various elements into it during battle. Making for a devastating combination.
[B]Description:[/B] Sergei is about 6'3 with brown hair and hazel eyes.
[B]Personality: [/B] Sergei is easy going and strangely loyal to Kathy having served first under her father and now her. He's often on the quiet side, except with his companions. Though sometimes Bethany's and Alexandra's talent for creating mischief really annoys him since often he along with Kathy has to get them out of trouble.
[B]Short Bio: [/B] When Kathy's father retired, Sergei stayed with the group. Feeling that on some level he owed it to his former captain since he had saved his life in battle many times, to stick around and keep an eye out for his daughter. Even if she was more than capable of taking care of herself.

Sergei comes from a family of musicians and though he does have a small talent at playing a lute, his true love is in studying the ways of the sword. Something that led him to leave home since his parents couldn't understand why he did not love music in the same way they did.

Well as you can see team, the first twist is upon us. Fortunately it seems to still be in the same theme with the same goal. I've gone ahead and put in the first post for our team for this round and I must say, excellent work in the last one as all of you did a great job on how our characters get along. :catgirl:

That and I thought it would be fun to have Bethany cast a spell that would be as dangerous as the Gargoyles. Or should I say flying stone chickens? *snicker* I don't know what you were thinking when you had my character refer to them as chickens, but I died laughing when I read it mom. :catgirl:

Anyway, have fun dodging both the icicles and the Gargoyles Rachmaninoff and Anomaly! Let the chaos commence! :p[/COLOR]

You three are amazing. ;) I just love how you've been posting in this challenge, especially your part Aaryanna_Mom where you had my character raising his eyebrow at Bethany's statement calling the Gargoyles chickens. It was just too funny since I actually was doing just that as I read it. lol

I'm with Rach on this! I'm totally diggin' the story so far, and I think all of our writing styles compliment eachother rather nicely =3 It's fun.

I'm gonna hold off on posting though till atleast tonight. Sandy said he didn't want to see one team or one player dominating the game because it would be frowned upon, and I think I've definitely seen the most posts out of us four. It's not that I don't [I]want[/I] to post right now (I'm brimming with ideas!), but hey. Gotta give the other teams a chance to compete ;D

I don't think we are dominating the game though, since two of the teams only have two players and several of their members have posted twice as well. I think what makes it seem like we are dominating the challenge is that the [COLOR=Blue]Titans[/COLOR] have two members who haven't posted yet.

Alright, I see. That's a good way of looking at it. I'll get working on my post soon and I should have up something tonight.

I think it's fair to warn you that I probably won't be on the computer much from Wednesday night until Sunday because I have alot of band functions coming up - I've a concert on Wednesday night and Thursday morning I leave early for my band tour, and I won't get back until Sunday evening. So I might be able to sneak in a post that night if I'm not too tired, but other than that, this won't be my most active week. I better make tonight's post really spectacular, then xD Sorry for how inconvenient this is D: It sucks but I highly doubt I will have any computer access at all for that few span of days. I hope this doesn't put us in a disadvantage and I'll get right on posting again as soon as I get back.

Still since the twist of theme change is upon us I suppose it is time to switch over. I was thinking of keeping the same name and simply changing some of my other traits to match the new theme. So instead of skills I would have powers this time around. And we could still consider ourselves the mercenaries. In the sense that the four of us ended up as friends and stick together.

I'll wait to see what you guys think as well. Also, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is reminded of X-Men with this new theme.

[/quote]That sounds good to me, especially since Anomaly already mentioned that she is going to be gone until Sunday night. That way we can still mention her in our posts but leave out the part about what her actual powers are. That would make it easier for her to simply slip right back into the game and let us know just what her power is at the same time. And if she wants to change her name, she can simply have her character insist that we call her her nickname due to her powers or something along those lines.

I'll modify my character and repost it later today. And then we can continue having fun! I am a bit sad that the last theme is over, especially since all of you did such a good job and I enjoyed reading it. Still this one ought to be fun as well! :catgirl:

[B]Short Bio: [/B]When it was discovered that she possesed the ability to control temperatures, something that happened when she accidentally burned down the school she was attending. Her parents sent her to Cheshire High hoping that they could help her to learn to control her strange ability.

Upon arriving she quickly became friends with her two roommates Kathy and Alexandra as well as a reserved boy in her class named Sergei. All of them became fast friends and tend to do everything together. [/COLOR]

hay guys! As far behind as I am with the whole "packing" thing (lol, shock and surprise), I figured I would drop by and try to make this as easy as possible, once I saw the theme change. Here is my character profile, just so that this weekend goes smoothly!

Name: Alexandra Woods
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Special Ability: Alexandra has the ability to literally communicate with nature. She can make plants grow, move rocks by thought and can speak to animals.
Description: Alexandra is about 5'5, a thin and petite girl, very pale with large green eyes and dark brown hair with caramel chunk highlights that reaches to her mid-back. Her features are defined, with high cheekbones and mischievious smile.
Personality: Playful and friendly, she loves to kid around and is easy to talk to. She'd be considered the lovable slacker of the group. She's smart but she chooses not to apply herself to much unless it interests her, which, unfortunately for her grades, isn't much. She loves music and can often be found in random places playing her guitar.
Bio: Alexandra came from a wealthy family, who shipped her off to be "cured" when her abilities were discovered. It was promptly realized that she could not be cured, and so they sent her to the school.. they give her money when she asks for it, but do not want anything else to do with her.

I know you guys will do awesome. Have fun with it like you did and we'll be fine =D

When her adoptive parents caught her singing to heal birds or injured cats they freaked, turning her back over to the orphanage immediately. After a while once her ability became stronger she was sent to Cheshire High.

Since then she became fast friends with her two roommates as well as with Sergei who shared a number of classes with her as well as an interest in music.

[B]Description:[/B] Sergei is just under six feet tall with light blond hair and blue eyes.
[B]Personality: [/B] A bit reserved and shy. He's a bit of a romantic though he tries to hide it from others as he worries they will think he's a sissy.
[B]Short Bio: [/B]Sergei discovered that he could manipulate tones when he was a child. Accidentally destroying the family car when he was playing with a recorder he had gotten as a birthday present.

Later after his parents tried to hide it he was finally sent to Cheshire High. He was paired with Kathy since his teachers are having them work on combining their unique talents together. Something that he enjoys doing.

And since it looks like our first twist is on us I'll get working on a post. I should have one up sometime today. ;)

Something that Sandy clearly told us not to do.

So even though I?ve got some good ideas, unless you guys think I should post. I?m going to hold off for now.

But if no post goes up from team Argo in the next couple of days or Sandy puts up a new twist, then as far as I'm concerned it's probably fair game for posting again. Ouch! Yes, it's alright for you to post! I guess I should've left out the domination-part out of the rules since everybody's misunderstanding it. It doesn't mean you have to post exactly the same amount as everybody else, and I'll surely give you a heads up if I see you posting excessively.

Also, domination of the story requires more than just posting frequently.
