Well, considering that we're the Lols, I wouldn't have it any other way than humor... But I'm not so sure about any ideas. A nice rock song would be good. We were discussing bands we liked, so if we could find a song from one of those that has a catchy tune, then I think that would be settled.

As for the near future, spring break starts on Monday. Until then, I'm going to be very VERY busy... So expect to hear back from me until then... I fell like my brain is going to explode, I'm so overloaded with work right now... (Play, regional speech competition, homework, tests)

[size=1]I was thinking that we should do something from an original score, such as music from Disney's [b]Aladdin[/b] or Tim Burton's [b]The Nightmare Before Christmas.[/b] Perhaps the song "What's This?" with different wording, of course. Just an idea. I think that'd run smoother than a real song, and finding a version without words is simpler.

I completely agree. I hadn't even thought of it until you said, but by using a disney song like that, it makes things a lot easier. I was trying to think of a song that we could find the mp3 version without lyrics. (Once again, a disney choice simplifies that) and it would be a lot easier to fit the words in there. So besides the one you mentioned, do you have any other ideas for a song. It would definately have to be upbeat if we're making it humorous... I'll look into some good songs!

[size=1]Um, yeah, just look into some Disney beats. Like "Acuna Matada" (sp?) and "Be Our Guest" and stuff like that. Really, those kind of songs work wonders. I think if we hit it off with a Disney beat, we'd get some good looks our way. We'll spend the next day hunting, I s'pose. But we oughta crack down on a song as soon as we can. Well I went through and downloaded as much disney tunes as I could find. And then I listened to ALL of them. (every single song the entire way through) As I was listening, I took into count that we would be changing these into humorous pieces and I think I've got 3 pretty good ideas: (Not including the ones that you have named off already)

[U]Aladdin - Prince Ali[/U]... My reasoning for this is that it's very upbeat and could require a lot of work to make words fit. If we were to pull it off, I think we would be praised 10 fold for it. Plus, at the beginning, there's this whole, "makeway for the king," sort of music (what with the horns and stuff) and we could use that to build up our already inflated egos. :D

[U]The Lion King - I Just Can't Wait to be King[/U]... To me, this is the exact music I think off when I think of a humorous track to a Survivor soundtrack. It has the right instruments and could be very rewarding if we pulled it off. Lastly:

[U]The Nightmare Before Christmas - This is Halloween[/U]... While "What's This" is a great track to use, I think that we could easily make a dark humor track with this song... Plus every time they say "Halloween," (which is a lot) we could substitute it for "LOL's."

But I'm still up for whatever it comes down to. In the end, we'd still have to find the songs without words. (Which I have no idea how to do, or how to find and MPG or MIDI file of it, or how to host it online for Sandy to hear) Just tell me what you guys think of all of this. In the mean-time, I'll keep searching for possible better tracks.

It's too hard to decide, but after extensive thought (and remaking my decision about 30 times) I choose [B]This is Halloween[/B]... It just seems like it would be easier to put in jokes and rhymes that sound good and I like the music better. (Even though Aladdin is my favorite movie!) So I guess we're waiting on Kitty to answer...

Okay, I'll admit: I'm a bit confused on exactly what we're looking for here... I get we need an mp3 or a midi of "This is Halloween." But what am I supposed to do after I find it? Do I link it through the forum? Do I download it and then use a hosting service to put it directly onto the forums? (I'm not even sure there IS a hosting service for music and if there is, I don't know of any) I'm pretty clueless. In any case, I've been searching and any site that has that song, (I haven't found and mp3, but I've found several midi) I've been downloading them and then writing downt the url address... Help me out when you read this.

That said, I'll PM you all the stuff I have. Just keep in mind, it's not much. I'm not a very funny person (or original for that matter) so I couldn't come up with anything that's funny. It's all just generic, run-around-in-circles kind of music. But I think that some of it would be good.

But I do have ideas that I can't get the words to fit right: On the parts where they say "I am the one blah blah blah..." we should definately take that opportunity to introduce ourselves. Like our names and some wierd aspect of our personalities (Like, "I like Cheese," I dont' know) And if we feel like it, we can even introduce past members. (One of you two would have to do that because I haven't been here since then) After all, this song was based on all Hallows Eve, so I don't see a problem with introducing past members as though they were dead... And then of course DW would have to replace the reference for "Pumpkin King" since he's the captain.

But of course, if the team doesn't like 'em I'll go with whatever. I'm just throwing my ideas out there. I'll send the PM your way now... It's not much though.

Well, as I said in my last message to both of you: I'm really sorry. I felt like I had abandoned both of you towards the end. And considering I was the only one who wasn't an original LOL member, (plus the fact that I had lost the debate) I was sure I would be eliminated. I'm grateful, of course that I'm still here, but I can't express how worthless I've felt throughout these past couple of rounds... I've just been in a slump and I plan to escape it soon. (I'm going to state tomorrow, so I've been super busy and after that, I'll be done with stressfulness for a long time) Next round we'll show 'em who's boss!

[size=1]We've all been kind of busy, I think, therefore we've all kind of slacked in the previous rounds. It's not just you, man. In fact, I felt so un-captainy during our "lyrics" round, I attempted to vote myself off, but I guess you can't do that. However, I did feel I deserved it. I'm still sorry for you, Kitty, and it's been good. Perhaps you can be resurrected someday when Laugh Out Louds start kicking butt again :]

[b]EDIT:[/b] Considering the new challenge, Mr. Darren, I believe we should do something along the lines as two legendary brothers (such as the Brothers Grimm) who are expert heroes for hire, saving damsels and slaying dragons. It's our duty and we're world reknowned. It'll be simpler to this for us considering it's just the two of us, so I don't think that would cause much problem. But how does that sound?

Character biographies shouldn't be difficult. Making up quick characters around such an idea, that is. Naming ourselves simple things such as [b]Dw[/b]ight and Darren Herother, the Legendary Herother Brothers, and etc. But I'll await your reply for such cases.[/size]

Yeah! That sounds great to me... Although Sandy said that bios weren't necessary unless we wanted to, I guess the other teams could get a bit of a feel if they were to want interaction. I like the idea! Let's go for it, I'll post my bio ASAP.

But speaking of strategy, how should we get involved in the RP... I just figured that if we're the type of "heroes for hire" that maybe something could be done with that... Anyway, I'm sure you have a bunch already planned out while I just found out about the challenge. (I'll explain) So I'll go ahead and post the profile and then you can post the first entry from our team... How's that sound? That way, I can follow your lead and our stories will seem coherent...

On the note of why I'm just getting around to the challenge: I had to go to my state competition Thursday-Saturday and I just got back around 1:15am... Anyway, there were 13 debate teams (2 dropped out from the original 15) and we got 3rd over all! So I was pretty excited since we're the first ones to get a medal at state in a long long time. (at least 10 years)

So, I'll get right on that so this party can get started. RPing is a strong suit for me!

For example, Take the above statement: While he strives to live up to his brother's reputations, he finds that his brother would be quite dead if it weren't for his knowlege of the situation. (And the fact that he's saved his brother's life on the occasion's where he wouldn't listen) He believes that the death of an enemy is indirectly caused by his knowlege and his coincidental relation to the man who can slay the being.

More often than not, it is Darren's plans that get them out of the troubles they run into, but Dwight will easily take the credit as the one who pulled the whole string through.

Though Dwight sometimes doesn't show it, he does love his brother and would protect him in any situation. After all, he is the older brother and therefore takes quite a bit of responsibility in that job. He's also more of a ladies' man, and takes to the drink quite a bit. This could also be where his troubles come from. That or his obnoxiously loud mouth.

After all, Sandy said she'd be switching the story several times throughout the challenge, so we don't really need to focus on the in-depth stuff. Just a suggestion to hurry it along is that I find something down there that will get us out of the forest and on our way... like maybe a large bird that lives in the hole that we ride to the castle. Also, Sandy said he doesn't want one team dominating the whole story. But I think we must take into consideration that some teams are, like, five people, so they would be pretty much [i]every other post[/i]. We're only two people, so our story isn't told as much. It seems that I didn't have time to post before all was changed. But I think we should keep our info generally the same. Since this is a X-menesque story, I think I can do extremely well.
