Yeah, I've been on these boards for a while and so have other people. So here's the deal: I view peoples profiles [when I'm really bored] and then I see their join date. What bothers me is people signed up like 3 years ago, and they're not posting until now. So what do you think about this?

I joined just under five years ago, and I only have 341 posts to date (342, counting this one).

The reason why?

Same as demonboy; I rarely find threads worth posting in. I spend hours browsing the boards pretty much every day, but I tend to like to read what others have to say, rather than contribute my own input.

Plus I'm lazy and don't like to type much.

I'd say i post a decent amount, though i don't know how much. But there are some times in my life that i rarely get online and there are some times when i get on nearly every day.

I also know some people are perfectly content in simply reading what others have to say instead of writing. Either because they feel what they had to say has already been said or because they're afraid their opinion will be shot down. I'm sure there are more reasons.

Also, some threads are completely lame. I won't name names....but i haven't seen any particularly interesting ones in a while.

For me personally, there are many places I join because I am either begged to or I lose interest after a week or so. This is pretty much the only place I really have been finding myself come back to from time after time. Which when I come to think about it, is not really that bad. I hate this place on occasion, but heck, I love this place all the same. I usually do not post most of the time however I get these random spurts where I post like crazy. Most of the time though, there aren't many threads that seem interesting enough to post in, or, I have nothing important to say.

Hmmm....well, I think that the user has every right to not post a single time. I mean, who care's if they don't post? And not to be offensive, but just how exactly does that bother you?

Well I post alot and I joined like a month ago. Its understandable that some people don't post is because they might be busy or they have school or a job. Life doesn't give much free time anymore. Like when I said I post well I ment to say I like starting my own thread beacues it something I'm interested in. So you can't blame people for having a life and being busy. Its just the way people handle their time. :animesmil

I would imagine that like many people, perhaps they simply signed up for more than one message board and thus never spent a lot of time at more than a few of them.

Or perhaps they joined, their interests changed, and now they've become interested in the site again.

But honestly, what I don't get, is why it would even bother you. I can't speak for them since I have not been here very long, but I'm sure I'm not the only person to join something, lose interest and then later go back when I find I'm interested in it again. That's just the way life is, message board or not. ;)

I have to agree with several members who've posted here when I say that I've been here for YEARS (2 or 3 now, I think) and I doubt if I even have 100+ posts because there aren't many interesting topics. At one point I hung around the Otaku Lounge a lot, but lately, not very many topics really appeal to me. I'm not saying that the OB itself is boring, but sometimes there aren't very many things that I feel that I need to reply to, ya know?

I've also visited other forums, but OB is the only one that has structured posts and rules, whereas on other forums, they just use it as a chat room, which I don't like. Way to go Otaku Boards! *thumbs up*

I used to be crazy involved with the boards. I'm a lot like everyone else who has posted here, I lack the time I used to have, and I either would just be beating a dead horse or have no interest in the topics at hand. I find myself thinking, "If there's nothing interesting to post about, start something interesting." Sadly I am also boring and cannot think of interesting topics to start.

...Heh heh...

Well, I guess it's a little strange...but I guess, maybe sometimes, they forget about all the places they join. I myself joined a good number of forums, but forgot a lot of them over the years.

Good thing otakuboards.com isn't to long a title to remember, huh? :P
