Oko looked up at Garret and leaned in. He leaned in too. There lips touched in a short kiss before they pulled away blushing. They looked at eachother. Oko sighed and put her head on Garret's chest. He slid down onto the grass and they just lay there like that.

"I love the rain." Oko said.

"I could tell." Garret replied.

"Garret? How did you discover your ability?" She asked blissfully.

Mark sat trying to perfect shining his axes, then it started to rain. Amelia just looked up and said "we should join the others, they'll be worrying about us." then she covered the blade of her swallow in cloth and began walking. Mark jumped to his feet and sheathed the axes. Screaming "No!" he began running in the opposite direction. Amelia got closer to him trying to grab him and make him stop, but she got a strong electric shock and fell hard on the ground, confused.

Mark ran as hard as he could with no use of his powers, he hated the rain. As drops sped passed him large electric sparks began jumping from Mark to them, soon the sparks would jump drop to drop making burns and strange marks when they finally hit something. Every puddle Mark stepped in also became a pool of sparks licking the surface repeatedly. "I must find shelter!" he thought. Soon he found a large group of trees bent into each other.

They were far from adequate shelter but the stopped the rain so he ran over to them. He sat in the middle hugging his knees and praying for the rain to stop before someone found him. He constantly gave of electric discharge, as a side effect of his power, he learned that rather toughly when he tried to help his father out of a swimming pool and killed about twenty people in an instant. He avoided water from then on as much as rationally possible.

Perhaps that is why he was drawn to Oko, she was forbidden, the safe and secure form of water he could actually touch. He kept in the cover of the trees as long ad the rain fell, fortunately no one came. He then cautiously walked out of the haven and back to camp, staying away from remaining puddles as much as possible.

Garrett grew silent trying to think of a way to avoid the subject, but he couldn't. Se stared at him curiously until he began to talk.

"I was born into a wealthy family, or at least that is what I was told. I was left at an orphanage at the age of two. I lived there for two years to only befriend one person, her name was Selina and she was like a sister to me. When she was adopted I saw no need to stay there, so I devised an attempt to escape. I was able to get out of the building but once i reached the outer stone wall I realized I couldn't make it over. Out of frustration i stuck the wall, the wall blew apart as if i had disassembled all of the stones in the wall," Garrett explained changing it so he didn't mention his strength. "After that I have never found a home, i have been wandering on my own since," He finished, he felt bad for lying to her but he didn't knowing of her strength and acting like everyone else dose, fearful. "How did you discover yours?"

Well, I found them later than you." She began looking down with a distant look in her eyes. " I was on a dock," She avoided her earlier childhood. " And a wind pushed me off and I got caught in the undertoe. I was drowning. I gave up hope, stopped struggling. And let myself flow with the water. I was almost dead when something pushed me up. When I saw it. I was pretty shocked. It was a horse made of water. It startled me, I gasped it fell becomeing part of the ocean again and i went back to my teacher, a librarian, and she told me of the chosen eight and how to control my abilities. Then I left and wandered around the world."

Garret looked at her. She looked so delicate, so defenseless. What would she need training for.

"You underestimate me don't you?" She said looking into his eyes." Tsunami. It can wipe the life of an entire city. Floods. They cause mass destruction. Poeple don't see how powerful water really is." She finished and went into a distant silence.

Mark walked up as Oko finished her sentence. "You know? you'd be surprised how many people think electricity is useless." He said sitting down and taking a bite out of an apple he picked on the way there. Garrett was surprised he so blatantly began conversation "Mark?" he said astonished. Mark replied "Garrett, Oko" nodding to each of them respectfully as a greeting. Mark had slight burns form where the sparks tried jumping back to him. Oko looked over his sadly and touched one of them, and a static shock zapped threw her hand and partially up her forearm, making it tingle and go slightly numb. Oko giggled at the strange sensation and Garrett once again got jealous. Mark reached behind Oko to her pack and drew our her weapon.

"Some blade for the fine girl." Mark said admiringly, Oko blushed in reply, and Garrett just steamed staring at Mark. Mark then got an interesting idea and asked Oko "May I treat the blade?" Oko looked at him quizzically and eventually nodded. He then closed his eyes and let the blade sit on his legs in front of him. He placed his hands over the blade, about 2 inches off of it, and touched thumbs. Soon sparks of electricity linked his hands and the blade almost constantly, creating a bright light. "Don't try to touch it." Mark said sternly as he slowly separated his hands and ran them to each length of the blade. When he was at the ends of it the sparks stopped and Mark opened his eyes, breathing deeply. Then he flipped it and repeated the process.

When both sides were done he opened his eyes again and smiled proudly. The blade itself was sparkling gloriously, as if clear glitter had been sprinkled all over it. Each way he turned the weapon different specks of light caught the metal and made it sparkle more. Upon closer inspection, the metal had a strange swirling pattern to it. Almost as if someone had etched entwining spirals all over it's surface. To create the effect by hand would take months. Then Mark checked the edge, it was shaven to perfection, cutting now more like a hot knife threw butter than a battle weapon. Mark grinned vivaciously and exclaimed "It worked!" Almost loud enough for the whole mountain to hear. Garrett pointed out "What you took a risk at damaging her only source of defence?! How could you?!" Mark smirked and replied "Are you implying you would not defend her if need be?"

Garrett answered "Of coarse I would!" now clearly angry. "Well it's not her only source of defence then is it?" noted Mark smugly. The only words from Oko were "Oh my gosh! look at how beautiful it is!" The spinning swirls of the pattern reminded her of splashing waves in the center of an ocean, she loved the idea that she was now wielding an ocean of her own while in battle. Mark smiled at her gorgeous voice and incredibly cute smile.

Oko was amazed by Mark's talent. She reached into her bag and pulled out the other blade. It was identical to the first.

"Can you do this one too? So it matches." She looked up at him smiling.

"Of coarse." Mark said, "Sparking" her second blade.

She loved them. When Mark was done she seized the blades from him and stood. Oko ran out a little ways to ensure their saftey. She slashed and Dance. Mark watched. He had never seen a fighting style that looked so much like dance. He watched for a long time at this graceful spectacle. Then Oko sent a stream of water at a near by rock. The pressure of the water was so great the rock cracked then shattered. Mark watched, Amazed at how such a graceful and dangerous her fighting style was.

Amelia walked into the camp, her face set in a determined look as she walked up to Mark.
"What was that all about?! Running off like that during that storm! You scared the crap out of me!"
He blinked at her as she spun on her heel and stalked away lifting a hand as she walked.
"Glad you made it back to your obsession in time though."
she walked up to Tray and leaned into him putting her elbow on his shoulder and looking out at the others.
"Jealous much?"
"Jealous? No, worried is more like it."
"Worried?"
"I worry about my friends and commrades."
"You hardly know of us here."
"Doesn't matter, he ran off like that and it scared me, I went looking for him but never found him, I thought something bad had happened-"
She stopped mid-sentence as she saw Oko's blade, she flug off her Swallow and the covers and looked at her blades as well and saw almost the same design, she had ust finished it on her own the month before she met all these people. She huffed a tempered sigh and walked past Mark grabbing his arm,ignoring the static. Once she had him a good ways away from overhearing ears and turned on him.
"Look, I don't mind you taking credit for what I taught you, but doing it that way and making a girl like you right infront of the guy that likes her and she CHOSE over you is wrong and you know it."
"What would you know, you don't know what it's like watching something you desire slipping away from you!"
She reared back and punched him sending him onto his butt.
"Don't tell me what I know and don't know! I would know better than anyone what it's like watching a dream or someone you want to be with slipping out of your reach, going where you can't follow!"
He looked up at her after rubbing his jaw and blinked as he saw a few tears trainling down her cheeks.
"I know what it's like. But trying to make a person choose you by doing something like that is wrong. You should be open with her, not jealous and vengful. Get to know them, spend some time talking to them. You never know, maybe if she saw the side of you, that you let me see, she'll like you and not him. Stop being a jerk and be a man."

She saw that this comment struck a chord and saw the flash of his axe as it came down ontop of her, he blinked in surprise as her Swallow blocked his with a speed he'd only seen from a tornado. she spun the weapon throwing him back and then began to switch it from hand to hand, each time she switched a gale of wind would assault him.
"Back off Mark. Back off of Oko and let her come to you, back off of Garret, and back off of this tough guy act you have, it doesn't suit you at all."
She threw her hand out as if swipeing something away and he felt his bangs pushed back by a soft wind that felt like her hand.
"Your not that guy, I saw it once when you came to me for your weapon."
she walked over to him and held out a hand to help him up, when he looked away she shrugged.
"Have it your way then. But you should know that people do care."
She bent down and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and walked away.

Reaching camp she sat down on her bed rool and put her face in her hands, looking up as Tray stood infront of her.
"Didn't go well?"
She shook her head and put her back to him and blinked as he sat down putting his back against her's. She took the compny for what it was and leaned back resting her head on his shoulder.
"I just wish that sometimes I weren't so nice."
"That's what makes you, you."
She nodded and relaxed and soon was dozeing.

Oko stopped messing with her blades when She saw Amelia grabbed him and dragged him away.

"Look, I don't mind you taking credit for what I taught you, but doing it that way and making a girl like you right infront of the guy that likes her and she CHOSE over you is wrong and you know it."

"What would you know, you don't know what it's like watching something you desire slipping away from you!"Amelia reared back and punched him sending him onto his butt.

"Don't tell me what I know and don't know! I would know better than anyone what it's like watching a dream or someone you want to be with slipping out of your reach, going where you can't follow!"Amelia seemed pained. She was starting to cry."I know what it's like. But trying to make a person choose you by doing something like that is wrong. You should be open with her, not jealous and vengful. Get to know them, spend some time talking to them. You never know, maybe if she saw the side of you, that you let me see, she'll like you and not him. Stop being a jerk and be a man."

Oko walked away a little confused. She didn't want to return to Garret at this point and didn't want to deal with mark, either so she sat down somewhere in camp.
she didn't know what to do. She was hurting Mark and in his pain he was hurting Garret so in some strange, unexplainable logic She was hurting Garret. She was even more ashamed that she hadn't recognized why they were fighting before.

Oko sighed and fell back onto the grass putting her hands over her arms. She was cought and didn't know what to do. She had never had to even think about what to do in this kind of scenario before.

Riiko loved the necklace thatTray made and put it on. She loved how it glissened in the light and that it wouldn't melt was the best part. There was also something about Tray that Riiko liked about him. He was hell a hot and everything. But of course she knew made that necklace out of generosity and was happy that they could be friends.

The walk to the temple was long and tiring. She was getting very sore on her feet and decided to stay in the back for a while. She could see that a lot of people were picking fights with each other and that wasn't right. Riiko stayed her distance from the ones fighting so she didn't have to end up being the middle of them. She looked up in the sky and could see that it was a lovely day out. It wasn't hot, nor was it cold. Just right.

Riiko spotted Tray and went over to him. She said, "Hiya there Tray."
She smiled and looked up in the sky.

"Hey there Riiko," he responded.

"I really love the ice necklace that you made me. It's so cool and very artistic. It's as if you were a real craftsmen."

"Well, uh... you're welcome."

"Man, I wish that I could do something as cool as this. All that I could do is make light and energy balls from my katanas. Oh, well, can't have everything now can I?"

Garrett walked on like the others, the sun was setting and they ere getting close to the temple. Oko was secluding herself from the others. Garrett knew enough about people to know when someone dosen't want to be talked to. Still Garrett was curious about why Oko was secluding herself. Garrett tried to approach Oko on many occasions but she avoided him or she would not speak a word. Garrett knew he did something wrong, he tried to figure out what he did and couldn't find out what it was. He didn't tell her of his strength, unless she saw what he could do in his fights.

Garrett stopped and buried his face in his hands. He then sat on the ground while the others moved on not even noticing. He had released his anger and with it his strength. He had shown her what he was capable of doing, harm he could cause her. He didn't want a repeat of what happened before.

As they made their way towards the temple he headed a different way. Away from the others. It was time he moved on anyways, he had no place with others, he was a monster, and like a monster he should be in seclusion, devoid of contact with others. He would hurt them, and Garrett didn't want to hurt anyone. He lost sight of them and made his way through some nearby woods.

OOC: by the way, this is all before they went to the temple since I haven't posted in a while, so you can ignore it if you like or read it if you want to know more about my character.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ashara was up way before anyone else and was sitting in a tree looking at the sunrise. She say a bit of fights here and there and figured that they were battles over jealousy and love. She knew something like that would happen since everyone seemed to be normal people so they would all have normal feelings of lust, anger, happyness and so forth. She knew that everyone was getting ready to leave so she jumped down from the trees and walked to a nearby field to practice her moves.
She pulled out her bow and arrows. She used her power over darkness to create images of people's shadows from her hometown who she hated and wanted dead. The shadows moved in a fighting way as if they were enemies of hers. She pulled out one of her arrows from the quiver and loaded it to the bow. She pulled back on the bow and targeted one of the shadows. For a split second, she shot the arrow and hit one of the shadows. She hit it with percise aim, hitting it what seemed to be the place of the heart. Next, she pulled out both of her razor fans and waited for the right moment to throw them at three of the moving shadows. When the time came, she threw the fans at the shadows and what seemed like it would miss ended up hitting all three of the shadows she was aiming for. She was happy that she was able to do it since she had hardly anytime to practice when she was in town.
After she was done training, she heard a voice behind her say,"Nice job. You have really percise aim there."
She turned around abrutly and saw that it was Chase.
"Shit! You scared me there for a moment. I thought you were some enemy or stalker or something. I'm glad that it's only you," she said as she put her weapons away and walked over to him.
"I meant what I said when you had percise aim. How were you able to hit three moving targets that are moving in different directions?" asked Chase.
"It was a gift that I had. I was always able to hit things in the weakest spot. I also know each and ever detail of the human body. I know the pressure points, weakest points, and all that shit. I even know the best way to kill you."
"Wow! I'm glad that you're on our side and not the side of evil."
"Hahahahahahaha! You're funny. I like a person with a sense of humor. But I only know all that shit because of my power over darkness.
"Yeah, but you can make shadows of others and you even have god damn percise aim. What more can you ask for?"
"You're right. What more can I ask for?"
They walked back to the campsite after they talked.
Chase watched as everything went on arond him. He sighed went over to Ashara. "Listen, I need you to do something for me. I want you to continue on your way to the temple. It should be about a half a day trip from here. I have to go after Garret. When you all get there. Wait outside of the temple until me and Garret get there. Once we get there, we will go from there." He watched her nod and then smiled. He headed off into the woods, after Garret.
After about thirty minutes of walking, he came up to Garret sitting in a clearing, head down. Chase sighed and then went and sat down next to him. "Garret."
"How did you fing me Chase? I know I didn't leave a trace." He looked over for a second, then back at the ground.
"Body heat. There is noting you can do from hiding from your own body heat. I will be able to find you any time." He smiled and then looked down with him. "You have to come back. You have to finish this otherwise there may be no end to it." He watched Garret shake his head.
"Why, it would be better if I stayed away and didn't bother any of you." Garret turned away from Chase, trying not to make eye contact.
"Your wrong. If you don't come back, then something worse could happen. Everyone one you met could be dead by the end of the day. Who knows, its all up to you right now." Chase watched his comment make a reaction in Garret.
"What do you mean. Everyone there is strong, they don;t need me."
"Wrong, somewhere along the line, everyone will need each others help. If they do not have it, then it may all be over. So, make the choice, either come back, or know that if we all die, you may have been the only think that could have kept us alive." Chase frowned and started walking back twards the group.
Oko snapped out of her thoughts and looked around. Garret was no where to be seen. She started to run to catch up with the rest of them, thinking he might be in the front. She was almost there when she tripped over a stone. As she fell she grabbed the nearest thing. In this case it was someones arm. The man stopped and cought his balence before they both toppled down. Oko realized that the arm she grabbed sparked her a bit.
She looked up and saw Mark looking at her. She blushed.
"I'm sorry." she said still practically hugging his arm.
Mark pulled his arm away gently and Oko took a step away, embarrassed. Mark looked at her shame filled eyes and he said "Don't feel bad, it was nothing, but if you held on too long your arms would go numb." Oko looked as Mark and smiled slightly. "We'll all want out arms usable when we're in that temple thing.
"Oh by the way, that's some fighting style" Oko blushed and said "I read it was the style that Eka used ,so I learned it for myself." Mark felt stupid now, he never knew anything about Ject ,,although it might help to know was his ancestor used to do with his powers. "Maybe you can help me research the guy I'm incarnated from, you know if you want to." Mark blushed nervously waiting for an answer.
" Ject of lightning." She said thinking. " let's see...He was a brutal warrior.Merciless. He could kill whole groups of men with electric shock. Poeple feared him. There were so mant war stories told of him, poeple feared him. Poeple say that Eka loathed him more then any other ally. But the love lifes of them has nothing to do with ours."
She looked down. "Or so I beileive." She blushed. "Love is love. You can't help who you fall in love with.
They continued to walk in a awkward silence.
Garrett looked up, Chase was gone, he was lone in the clearing, Chase had left. His words rang through his mind like a bell in a church. "Somewhere along the line, everyone will need each others help. If they do not have it, then it may all be over. So, make the choice, either come back, or know that if we all die, you may have been the only think that could have kept us alive."
Garrett knew that his being there would endanger their lives, especially Oko's. If he got angry at one of them he didn't know what might happen. But what if she needed his protection. He would never forgive himself if she was hurt and there was anything he could have done to help her.
Garrett got up to his feet, he started after them. He had someone who he cared for now, someone he would die protecting, he now decided that he will return, her fear just means that she will keep a good distance from him, protecting herself from what he could do. He picked up the pace to catch up with them.
He started to run and then he saw Ashara walking at the rear of the group. He slowed his pace and stayed walking right behind her. He stayed in the back for the rest of the journey, not wanting to present himself to the others.
Amelia looked up as they continued walking down the small road, she was bored and it showed. Whistleing here and there she kicked stones and sticks and looked up seeing Mark and Oko. she scoffed and kicked a well aimed pebble at his head. He looked back at her, his face red as Oko talk to him. She pointed at her eyes then his telling him to stay foucused while she talked to him and sighed.
'So much for a relationship. Tray and that one girl obviously hit it off pretty well and Mark is so obsessed with Oko I might as well be invisible.'
she blushed slightly as she realized that she did have a sort of crush on Mark, thinking back to what she had told him, about knowing how he felt..it was not one of the group that she had been talking about, but her brother. He had died when she was very young, gone to a place she could never follow him in her life till she died. she heaved a giant sigh and walked past Mark and Oko, wipeing her eyes so no one would see the tears forming there. she had always wanted to go back to the time that she could be with him, he was her hero. Her only family and he had left her alone. Thumbing the scar on her wrist she remember that night all to well; the nightmare, the pain and fear...the guilt. She had dreamed of her brother, that he was unhappy with out here...she had tried to rejoin him but cutting her wrists, it was a mistake on her part greatly. She had felt badly for it all her life and now carried the scars of it as well.
Looking up she sent up a slient prayer that she would no longer be alone in the world as she had this group of people to keep her company. Looking down she realized that she had fallen behind and blinked, was she that caught up in things, in her own thoughts that she now brought up the rear? She set off at a jog thinking that the last thing she recalled was walking ahead of Mark and Oko. She found herself beside Garret and looked up at him, his face was so full of hurt and pain. She reached in her small bag on her hip and pulled out a small dark bar of what looked like soap. She broke a piece with a resounding crack and pushed it into Garret's hand.
"Cocoa, it's good for the soul. It's home made, the nune made it for me before I left the orphanage."
she broke a small bite off for herself and began to suck on the tip of it childlike. A small smile of gratafication and pure glee came over her face. She looked up and noticed that he had not touched it.
"Go ahead, it's not poisioned and it's certainly not going to kill you."
He nodded slowly and took a light nibble, she saw his eyes widen a fraction.
"Good right?"
He nodded and nibbled it more.
"Like I said, Cocoa, it's good for the soul."
She walked beside him, seeing they could both use the company as they nibbled on the chunks of cocoa she had gotten them.
Garrett looked at the cocoa left over in his hand and he handed it back to Amelia. She looked at him confused. He looked up to see her with Mark and Oko together, smiling and conversing. He looked back at the ground. A tear came to his eye and he quickly wiped it away. Amelia looked upon his sympathetically.
"It wasn't right of him to do that, you care about her than him and you and I know it," she said trying to cheer him up.
"It's not her," he replied. He was lying. Garrett fell lin love within a single day of knowing her. He was in no place to fall in love, he was in no place to be loved.
"Your lying," she replied. Garrett remain silent, he knew she was trying to help but she didn't make him feel any better. they both moved along in silence. She would look at him from time to time. He didn't shift his gaze, it was on Oko. Another tear came to his eye, it rolled down his cheek. He hadn't felt this much pain since he learned the true extent of his powers. He pressed on.
Chase looked back and saw Garret walking with Amelia. He smiled and nodded after Garret made eye contact and nodded back. He then turned to Ashara. He smiled agian and let it show on his face. "Thank you for not jetting off like most of the others. It seems that everyone wants to be on their own program or something."
"Its nothing. I think that whatever we have to do is important, and well, someone has to be willing to go all the way." She smiled back at him as they neared a small area of woods.
"This is it. In the middle of these woods, about a twenty minute walk is the temple. I say we wait until nightfall and make our way into there. It will be alot eaisyer if we split into teams of two to handle this. Anyone dissagree?" He watched them all nod in agreement. He looked at everyone then closed his eyes.
"What is it? Trying to figure out who is going with who?" Trey said, walking up next to him.
"Yeah, alright, here it is. Amelia, I want you to go with Ashara. Trey, you will go with Rikko. Oko, you will be with me, and finally, Garret you and Mark will go together." He watched the expressions of them and frowned. He pulled them off to the side and closed his eyes.
"And, why did you team us up?" Mark asked, his voice showing him to be a little pissed off.
"I agree, it may not be that smart." Garret added, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Because, what is this supposed to be? A team right? Well, I think everyone here, including you two can agree on something else, you two are the only ones that really don't get along. I want you two to be a team for that reason. You two need to learn how to trust each other. That is something that teamates must have. If you two resent each other so much, then why have you gone this far? You both know that there must be eight for this mission to work, so get over any petty things you have agianst each other.." He frowned, still watching both of their expresions.
"I know you two still don't agree, and you shouldn't, not with the way you are. But know this, both of you, if you want to fight so much, then why haven't you killed each other yet? Back in the old days, both Dom and Ject hated each other, but they worked as a team. They knew that they needed each other and they knew they would die otherwise. You two need each other, and if you do not have the help, you two will both die." He spit on the ground and turned away.
"I still don't like it." Mark put in, cocking his head to the side.
"Get over it. If you two want to kill each other over Oko, then what will that make you? Do you not think that she will hate the fact that you killed someone she may be close to? Why not let her decide who she cares the most for. It is not up to either of you to decide who she must love and who she shouldn't. She is human being, and it is her choice, and hers alone." He took in a deep breath and sighed. "Listen, I know how you feel. She is very pretty, and well, she needs to know how her heart feels. She can't have someone else leading her life for her. Its hers, not either of yours. So, I am asking, please, try to get along. I have a feeling that it will prove better in the long run. It may show her that you two are not some child fighting over a toy, but someone who really takes othes feelings into concideration." He smiled and walked back to the group, hoping his words may have sank into their heads.
Oko Showed no emotion to the decision. Inside she was releived. Their feelings were really messing her up. She was unsure of how she felt anymore. She was very releived that Chase seperated them from her. Maybe she could sort things out before anything bad happened.
It wasn't long before dusk came and everyone was preparing to be on their way to the temple. Oko hung around Chase still really trying to avoid the two whom loved her. It was starting to get to her, A corruption in her flow. It was going to screw up her ability! She knew it.
She thought back to when Librarian Deana fell ill before she left. No doctor could fix it, no one knew how to heal it. She became worried. Deana told her to continue her training, to work on her skill but because she felt worried the water figures wouldn't flow and fell before even forming. She knew that in an upsetting situation her ability was nothing. She couldn't flow and neither could her water. Oko feared it would happen again.
Amelia was sharpening her Swallow and polishing it as she egan to get ready for what ever lay ahead, she heard a small sigh and looked up as Oko walked by following close to Chase and biteing ehr nail. she chuckled and walked up to her putting her hand on Oko's shouldershe smiled as Oko looked up at her.
"Just calm down, things will work out. Don't think about it right now, concentrate on what we have to do here and then when things settle down see where you go."
"I don't-"
"Look, don't think, just walk, see where you end up."
"It's not that easy...they fight over me."
"Because they're being childinsh."
She pushed Oko's nail out of her mouth and handed a piece of coaco.
"Here, I'm sure this will taste better."
she nodded and began to nibble to piece of Chocolate nervously.
"Look, I know what your feeling, I'm kinda going through it as well. It's not easy to deal with I know. But you have to just let your heart take you where ever it wants you to be. If you listen to your brain to much it gets in the way of you being happy. If you let yourheart make ithe desicion, you'll be happy. You get it?"
"I think so...basicly just not think about it and in the end where ever I end up is where I'm supposed to be?"
"Yup, wehter it's Mark, Garret, or hell, who knows, some one else. You have to let things like this just flow and work them selves out."
"What if they fight again?"
"Boys will be boys, if they fight ti jsut proves that they really don't care what you think, and they think of you as property and not a person."
She looked back at the boys in question and saw them both frowning at her, Chase looked back and smiled. Amelia got an idea and handed Oko another piece of coaco and then walked up to Chase.
"Hey, can I ask you something."
"Sure."
"Can I ask to go with Oko, it looks like she needs some one to talk to."
Chase shook his head.
"I've paired everyone up the way I want you guys to be, the person your with is the person you have talked to the least since we statred."
Amelia nodded and looked back at Ashara.
"She won't eat me will she?"
Ashara looked up bewildered and blinked making Amelia laugh.
"I'm just kidding, sheesh. So tense around here."
Mark walked up and hit his shoulder to her's.
"Because we're doing something important and your taking it like a joke."
"Your one to talk buddy. I'm not the one being an immature brat."
She saw his hand tighten on one of his axes and smiled, only this smile was a wicked one, something that none of them has seen since they has all met her.
"Go ahead. I'm not afraid of you Mark."
Her hair began to blow around her as the wind picked up and before they could say something else Chase pushed Mark back in the back to stand beside Garret, he turned to her.
"Do you always have to bait people?"
"He needs to learn to grow up. Oko is a good person and neither one fo them have to right to treat her like they have been, like she's a thing and not a person. It pisses me off Chase."
"I understand, but we have more important things to do. Got it?"
taking a deep breath she nodded and leaned on a tree next to Ashara, she looked down as the girl spoke.
"Your a fair person, that's pretty rare anymore."
"My brother always told me to treat people fairly and with kindness."
"He sounds smart."
Amelia nodded and looked away, her smile gone as she watched Garret and Mark bicker and watched Oko worry herself into a frenzy.
'What's the point in being the chipper one when everyone has social issues?'
A familiar voice filled her mind and made her smile softly.
'It's who you are, and who you were made to be. You make them laugh and make them comfortable in situations where they would become and hurt each other.'She sighed as her brother's voice faded away and looked up catching Tray's eyes, she gave him a smile and a thumbs up going back into her normal character set. The group spit off into their groups and headed off into the woods. For a couple of minutes you could still hear the others talking, but then they all droned off into the distance. Garrett walked silent with Mark. Not even a heavy breath left their mouths. Mark watched Garrett for any movement, but Garrett paid him no attention. He just walked along hoping to get this experience behind him. He had no love for Mark and he was in no mood for a fight but Mark on the other hand had the opposite in mind.Mark drew his axes.
"Don't, I'm not in the mood," Garrett told him solemnly. Mark approached him both axes drawn. He stopped and got in an aggressive stance. "I told you I don't want to fight," Mark charged Garrett with amazing speed. Garrett drew his sword and knocked one of Mark's axes out of the way but the other ax came down and cut through Garrett's cloak. Mark committed too much to this strike and fell forward. Garrett came around and kicked him in the back. Before Mark got the chance to get up Garrett was holding him on the ground by the back of his head.
"Listen and listen good, you want to fight me because of Oko. I understand that, but a persistence that endangers your life is what I don't get. I have defeated you twice and yet you still fight me, I do not doubt that eventually you will defeat me. But you have no reason to fight me now, she is in decision. But hear this, if you hurt her in any way shape or form I will make sure that your suffering dose not end. She has been the only person in many years to show me any kindness." He got off of Mark. "Now put your axes away and lets go."
They moved on once again in silence.
Oko continued to walk along Chase. Oko was quiet and Chase didn't quite know how to start a conversation with her. She seemed to distant. Finally, after thinking for a he attempted to to talk with her.
"You never asked any questions about the Chosen Eight. Is there any questions you need answered." He said cautiously,trying not to say anything that might even upset her a little bit.
"No. I grew up in a library. I read all I could about them even before I knew I was Eka's reincarnation. I loved reading about them and there legacy. I thought their life to be so exciting, even just reading about them was exciting."
"Ah, I see."Chase saw she was deep in thought.
"Chase? There's a stream not to far from hear. I hear it running. Can we stop there for just a bit? It won't take me long."
"Yeah, sure. " he followed her to a small brooke.
Oko Stood at the edge of the stream, her hand extended, her palm facing the water. She closed her eyes and breathed in, then out, slowly. She was in deep concentration. An orb seemed to be forming and seperating itself from the water but it fell into the stream as soon as its departure. Oko was disturbed by this omen.
"NO!!" She said sitting down hugging her legs and resting her head on her legs.
Chase sat by her and put his hand on Oko's shoulder's. She could feel her breathe. Air enterd her lungs and left her lungs in a jagged fashion. Chase didn't know how to comfort her.
((Ooc: Here ye, hear ye! I can't get to my Pm's so I can't reply to them if anyone sends me one. I just want to apologize in advance to those poeple who can't figure out why I won't send a reply to any Pm's. Thankyou!))
Amelia and Ashara walked through the forest in silence for awhile. When Ashara said,"Do you always have a kind personality with a fair demeanor?"
Amelia was surprised by this but responded by saying,"I always had since I was little and lived with my brother. He was the one who told me,'It's who you are, and who you were made to be. You make them laugh and make them comfortable in situations where they would become and hurt each other.'"
"That is very wise of him. It tells me that you should be who you are and make it known to the people around you. Make them feel happy and make them feel better in situations that are hard for them."
"That's exactly what I thought," Amelia said as she looked at the ground and then said," Why did you ask me that question with that response? You seem like the type who wouldn't start conversations or talk to anyone. So why?"
"I heard what Chase had said and I agree with him. I am the one you haven't talked to the most, but, since we're all in this together, I thought that I might get to know you and make a friend," she said as she smiled at her.
"Oh, I see. So you want to be my friend. I'd love to be your friend! Oh, and did you know you have pretty smile?"
"I do? I didn't know that since I don't smile too much back at home. And the reason I want to make friends is because I don't have any and you seem to make me happy inside. Which is very unusual for me at the most."
"So I will be your first friend?"
"That's right but remember the mission to go to the temple first and see what awaits us there."
"Right."
The two walked together for a while stopping here and there to make sure no one was out there or following them. Eventually, they made it to the temple and they saw that no one else had arrived so they sat down and waited for the others.
Chase looked at her eyes. The fear they held, the sadness, the confusion, even the embarresment. He looked down, trying not to look her in the eyes. He smiled and then stood up. He turned to look at her, but she still kept her head down.
"Can I guess what happened? Nevermind, its none of my buisness. I will wait over here. Noone is going in without my flare anyway.: He moved over nad leanded agianst a tree. He crossed his arms over his chest then sighed.
"Why, why do I have to go though this?" Oko moved a little, but still did not look at Chase.
"Well, I don't know. Sorry. What I can tell you, it may help, is that if it were not you, then there would be only six, not eight of us here right now. You keep two of them here, even though they act like they want to kill each other. After the little conversation I had with them, they won't try to go that far anymore. I hope.: He went back and sat back next to her. He took in another deep breath as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Maybe it would be a good idea if we let them handle it. I mean, the more I talk to either of them, the more they seem to get madder, not only at each other, but with me. I don't know what I should do. And the more I think about it, the less I can control my power." Chase heard her sniffle, then turned to her and wipped the tear from her cheek.
"Thank you. This is really something that I didn't expect would happen when we started this whole thing." She shook her head and watched the water flow throug the small ditch.
"Comeon. Stand up." Chase helped her stand and then got behind her. He grabbed her hands and raised them up over the water. "Not concentrate you body. Do not try to control the water. Do not treat it as a tool. Treat is as an extention of your own body. Some that is in you, in your blood, in your sould. It is you, and you are it. Clear you mind. Let nothing from the past be used to help you with the water, it wont help." He smiled as she looked back.
"I have never tryed to use water like that. Why do you say to do it that way?" She had a confused look on her face. Chase smiled and took a step back. He raised his hand as a peaceful look appeared on his face. He looked at his hand as a small flame appeared.
"It is how I was taught. I know, its hard to do someting different the first time, but, we have the same powers, for the most part. I mean, fire can take away water, and water can take away fire. We are one and the same. He saw her nod, and then turned her around and got back behind her. He raised her hands once agian and wispered in her ear. "Try it. Relax. Don't force the water to do anything it shouldn't. It is alive, it is you." He took a step back as the water started to stop and then created a pilar of water in front of them. When Oko looked up, the water started to change, after a few moments, it changed into a horse, tall and proud.
"Its the same one from when I was a child." She looked back at Chase who smiled. When she looked back the horse was still there.
"That means its your guardian. It is the strongest thing you can make, to a degree of course. I am sure a water dragon could destroy it, but I also can tell that with its size, it is alot stronger than it looks. So, work with it, don't try to control it. When you can do this, you will begin to appreciate your powers alot more, and eventually, the both of you will be one, or something like that." He laughed as Oko lowered her hands. After another few seconds the horse vanished. She turned to him with a small smile on her face.
"Now, you tell me how you feel. What is in your mind, and what is in your heart. One of the only ways to continue is to be able to tell which is in your mind and which is in your heart. You cannot confuse them, otherwise you are not fallowing the strongest part of your body, your soul, your heart." He sat down and watched her sit and then he watied to hear what she had to say.
