Akiko looked down at New York, one of her favorite cities and took a deep breath, her large black leather like wings folded down around her, she nearly fell off as a larger gaurdiean appeared next to her.
"Akiko, let's go, the Captian is about to show along with all the others."
"Oh joy."
He chuckled and dissaooered just as quickly as he had shown up. She smiled and stood up unfolding her wings as a cold breeze blew filling them with air she rode the gust till it died and dissappered as weill winding up in a comfortable room furnished with large and fluffy couches and chairs, she could smell the food from the kitchen and smiled more. She looked around at the others that were alreadly there and sat down in her favorite black satin popasan chair letting her wings rest against he back as a cloak. Sipping the tea that had been given she looked up at the larger guardiean and smiled.
"Orthaos, what do you think they will say when they get here?"
"Same thing you did, 'Bull shit!'"
she laughed and leaned back in the seat to wait with the older guardieans that were there as well. Sipping the tea lightly she saw that an assortment of alchohol was there on the table for those who would need it like on her first day.
'It is an awful lot to take in, your dead and you've been killed on purpose for the protection of a singal human that has been born and has just come into his or her own realizeing that he or she can do things that no one else can, learning that we'll be protecting this young person with our lives against those who wants to kill him or her. It is alot to take in, but I'm sure once they get used to all the good thigs about it, they won't mind.'
She smiled and scratched her back with the tip of her wing and waited pateintly.

*Alright everyone this is it, it's up. Those of you who are gaurdieans, meet in the room that my character is in, those of you who are Blackhearts, the one who signed up as the first black heart (I'll have to go back and look) you are their Captian. Meet in another room.

[sizse=2]Ashen leaned in the corner of the room as Akiko and Orthaos talked about the whole deal of them protecting this person. Ashen was glad to help out. "I don't see whjy it is a problem to help this person."

Orthaos turned and looked at him. "And that's comeing from a former Black Heart" Ashen hung his head. That was the only thing about him was that he used to be a Black Heart until he was alsmot killed by a Guardian then healed by him as well. Now he was sided witht he Guardians but none really cared for him even though he had helped them through thick and thin. Ashen pulled a chair to the back of the room where he was out of everyone's sight, even though they probably wouldn't bother looking his way anyway.

Kite walked into the hotel. He spat on the ground and looked around. Everyone looked as though they could be a blackheart, he didn't really care anyway. He was told to make it to this place, and well, here he was. He walked up to the front desk.

"Yeah, is there a letter for somone named Kite?" He watched the reseptioness hand him a small package. He opened it and found a small key with a room number on it. He made his way up to the room and opened the door. As soon as he opened it, he shut it and started walking back down the hallway.

"Ain't that some bullshit. I died to a girl. What the hell, I knew I would be protecting a chosen whatever, but this. Holly cow." He shook his head then walked back into the room. As he shut the door behind him, he saw everyeon in there looking at him.

"What was that about?" A girl said, she was sitting in a chair.

"I was just wanting to think to myself, ain't this some bullshit. To die and then have to come here to protect some little girl. I could be doing something better with my time.

"What, like trying to kill her?" A man said, sitting in the corner.

"What, hell no, I don't want to kill anyting. I just want to go back. I want to go and relax." He glared at the other guy who glared back. They both looked away at the same time, and Kite let out a sigh. "Shit, better make the best of this I guess." He sat down agianst the wall, keeping his sword in his hand at all time.

Aruta was in the room with all the other guardians who were called to protect some girl who happened to be the Savior. All she thought about was how much should would have liked if she didn't have to do anything with this Savior or anyone. She leaned against the wall with her staff in her hands. She looked all the people around her and thought that they were a good bunch of people to help out in all of this shit that was about to happen. As she waited in the room, she thought,'Shit, why did I have to get involved in this. I wish that I hadn't. Well, if I have to then I guess I will. But if they ask me to do something out of my league there is no f-in' way that I'm going through with that.'

Eris smirked as she sliced the mans neck open. She had been needing some practice, and now she was bored. The past few days had been hell and now she was waiting for her men to show up.

*This is bull shit. First I get murdered, then I have to come back and kill a little bitch who wants to save the world. Just let it burn! I hate all these weak pathetic humans and their pitiful lives.*

She opened the window and peered out impatiently. The next time either of those idiots were late she would snap.

Suddely a figure stood in front of her on the window ledge.

"Your late."

Ashura didn't know where she was but that she was where no one could see her anymore. She couldn't remember anything except that she was walking and then a truck and then darkness. She couldn't help but try to think and couldn't find anything.

Ashura looked around and then saw someone who came to her and said, "Let's go. Everyone's been waiting for you." The woman smiled and helped Ashura up.

"Okay, but who are you and what am I doing here?" asked Ashura.

"You'll find out soon enough when we get there. But for now, relax. You're with good people now and when we get there, everything will be explained to you."

"Oh, Okay. I trust you. Like my dad always said, 'Trust anyone who helps you out when you're in a tough situation.'"

Ashura smiled and her and the woman walked over to the place where she had no idea where they were going.

Axel was lead into the room by two men having escaped one and ran off. The lead him into the room and the first thing he notices in the room was all of the people. two girls, there was one that was quite attractive with white hair. Then there was a girl with wings sitting drinking tea, this made Axel wonder if he was still drunk.

Axel shook his head and was pushed into the room and into the chair.

"Now stay still," said the man in a perturbed voice.

"You didn't have to be so forceful," replied Axel grinning.

"You didn't have to punch me in the face," said the other man rubbing his jaw.

"That was your fault and you know it, if you didn't surprise me around that corner it would have never happened. The men stormed out of the room and slammed the door. Axel leaned back in his chair and looked at the people giving him strange looks. He was trying to realize why he was there and then it hit him, he was a guardian. and he was supposed to protect the savior... or something along those lines.

Axel turned to the people in the room and made a huge smile "sooooo, whats up?"

Alyssa stared blankly in front of her deciding whether she wanted to enter into this room or not. There was no one forcing her through it, nor was there anyone telling her that doing so would change every way that she thought about life. Of course it was a hard decision. But without doing so, her afterlife would be mindless wandering while others did what she was unable to.

Heaving a heavy sigh and driving her body forward, Alyssa gripped the handle loosely and opened her fated door. Inside, she peered quickly around to the number of people, lounging around. Some stood near the walls, others found comfortable seats to rest on. Few people mingled while others who supposedly preferred to be alone, stayed away from groups and sulked by themselves. This was who she was supposed to get along with? Some of them look like they want to kill me, she thought to herself while glancing away from some of the more hard-faced persona. This is definitely uncomfortable.

She quickly made her way over to a long counter in the corner avoiding direct eye contact from the many strangers. When she got there, she hopped up onto it and sat facing out into the room. What a crowd.

A small door clouded by the marks of children?s fingerprints swung open on a street corner of Second Avenue. Running out with an ice cream cone in hand was a boy of five with a mop of brown hair - brown like waffle cone he was intently admiring. Realizing walking and eating was hard enough, let alone running, he slowed to a stop at the corner of the building. His eyes grew exponentially larger as he steadied his hand and moved in for the kill; for the first taste of the sweetness.

At the same time a man in a corduroy jacket and faded jeans strolled up 28th Street, not particularly caring that the sky looked extremely bleak, ready to drop a torrential downpour on an already soggy Manhattan. He planned to return to his apartment and enjoy a nice, large pizza, perhaps with a Corona or a Heiniken to wash it down. Perhaps to wash off some of the guilt from the afternoon?s hit.

The first four had been easy enough, Bert Aldridge thought to himself. I made two grand today? but that guy was just a kid. There?s some crazy **** going on in this city, and I?ve been through some **** in my life, but I never thought I?d ever end a 17 year old?s life.

While thinking he was reminded of the weight of the pistols in the inner pockets of his jackets. The guns he found at home after his father was killed. The ones that had just killed for the fifth time.

I thought the same thing then. I never thought they?d turn on dad like that.
He stared upward at the sunless sky and prepared to round the corner onto Second Avenue.

?Nothing you can do,? he said to himself as he turned the corner. ?Life just deals the cards.?

The words left his mouth right as a he felt a squish, a crunch, and a thump in quick succession. He first noticed the dark brown chocolate ice cream mark on his jacket, then glanced down at the small child who had collapsed in a heap at his feet.

?Hey mister! Watch where you?re going! You made me drop my ice cream!? The youthful boy gazed up innocently from eyes that looked ready to tear. Bert forced what he thought might be an apologetic smile, as well as a terse, ?Sorry.?
Bert stepped over the boy as he burst into inconsolable tears. By the time the kids parents crowded around him to ask what happen, the man in the jacket was lost in the crowd of New York City.

He glanced back while crossing the next road in time to see the parents help their pride and joy up and lead him inside to wash him up or buy him a new cone. Both, probably.

Your not gonna get anywhere if you don?t learn to pick yourself up, kid. Learn it fast and remember it for the rest of your life.

He turned around just in time to see a flash of yellow out of the side of his eye. Before he could think, he was struck on the right side and pulled beneath the cab.
The last thing Bert Aldridge remembered before the darkness was the smell of burned rubber.

After what was either eternity or a moment, a voice rose out of the void.
?Come to me, Black Heart. Come to Hellinger. We have much work to do.?
A shrill laugh pierced the ears he was almost certain would never hear again and he rose.

What the **** was that? I should be? I might be dead. God damn, where am I supposed to meet this? thing? Does it have the answers?

But Bert already knew the answer to that question. He also knew exactly where to go. Turning back to the direction from which he came, he followed the voice that now coaxed him along the path of the chosen.

Ashura followed the woman until they got to a hotel. The woman said, "Once we get to where we are going, I will leave you there."

"Umm...Okay," replied Ashura.

They both walked inside and went to the reseptionist. Then the woman asked, "Is there a letter for Ashura?"

Ashura was suprised and so was the reseptioness. Ashura didn't know how the woman knew her name but she went along with it.

The reseptionist handed the woman an envelope and the woman turned and handed the envelope to Ashura. Ashura grabbed the envelope and opened it. It had a key and a room number.

Ashura looked up and asked, "What am I supposed to do with this?"

"Go to the room that the number says on it," said the woman smiling.

Ashura looked at the room number and it read Room 7. She walked to the room and used the key to open the door. When she opened the door, there were a lot of people inside the room lounging around.

All the people in the room turned or stopped what they were doing and stared at Ashura not knowing who she was.

Then the woman who brought Ashura said, "This is the one that you've been waiting for. She is the Chosen One and you must guard her with your life. She is the Savior and will help the world from destruction." She turned and looked at Ashura who didn't get what she was saying. "Don't worry they won't hurt you. Now I must go."

With that, the woman disappeared and Ashura was left alone with everyone staring at her. She wanted to be polite so she said bowing, "My name is Ashura Yasha and I'm sure that whatever I'm supposed to do that I will do my best trying."

She then stood up straight and looked at everyone.

Roxas was sitting on the dge of a rooftop of a building. The wind slowly passed through his face and he was calmed by it. He then took out his weapon and raised it up in the sky. "This weapon, made by several black hearts and including their soul as well, was just made to kill some girl? And to entrust me with this. Are they that afraid of some girl?" While he was looking downwards on the city streets, he suddenly received a telephatic message. After receiving it he kept his weapon and jumped down the building.

It didn't take long for him to land on the ground face down. As soon as he landed, many people were gathering around him and started calling an ambulance. Slowly he got up from the fall and people around were amazed yet frightened. He slowly walked passed the crowd ignoring their comments while saying these words to himself "I cannot die because I never even had the chance to live". When the ambulance came, he already left the scene heading towards the meeting place.

Akiko looked at Ashura and nodded.
"Orthaos, that should be about everyone shouldn't it?"
"Just about, i don't see the harm in starting noe Akiko."
She nodded and stood up streaching her wings and sighing as they popped, she smiled at the others and then let it fade as they stared back at her with for the most part hard expressions.
"Alright, now I know this may be hard to believe but you are all here for the protection of a young lady who ahs been chosen to be the Savior for the poeple of earth, we are to protect her with our lives and si all we can to make sure she survives."
"Forget it."
She looked over at the young women who sat with a staff in her hands.
"Excuse me?"
"I said forget it. I don't see why we have to die for some little girl to live?"
"We are not completely daed. We will be given a physical shape to go back to earth and proect this girl," She looked at the young man that had said he only wanted to go back and relax, "And if any of you abandon her you will be brought back here immediatly."
She looked at Ashura and inclined her head.
"You have been chosen as our Capitan, If you want a second in command I must ask you to consider Orthaos, he is the last capitain of the last Gaurdieans and knows the routes here. He can help you a great deal."
She glanced around and nodded.
"Now that you all know what your in for, I'll take you to the white room so we canh fit you with your wings, power, and weapon. These will be your way of getting around and priotecting the Savior. Now, if any of you wish to back out as will let us know, and well, we'll set you up an apratmen down here. If not, then don't worry, if you have weapons with you already we will fit them to your specific regulations. As mine has been."
She pointed to a barret in her hair and nodded to Orthaos who led the way out talkinf to Ashura the whole time. Akiko stopped beside Ashen and held out her hand to him.
"You coming?"
He looked up at her, a look of somewhat shock on his face.

"Wow, I can't believe that I'm really the Savoir of the earth. This is so exciting. But how can I be and not someone else? I mean I've always wanted to help out the world and sure I was kind to everything but why me?" asked Ashura.

"Well it was said that someone would become the Savoir but they never told us when or where they would be coming. We've been waiting a lond time for you to come so let's go and get your wings fitted," replied Orthaos.

They all go to the white room and then Orthaos turned and said, "Dont' worry Ashura. Everyone of these guardians are here to protect you from the evil ones after you."

"Okay. I was always told to trust those who trust me."

Ashura and the others walked into the white room and were all getting fitted for their wings.

Kite grunted as he looked around. "What the hell is this?" He clinched his fisht around his sword harder as a pair of charcoal grey wings sprouted from his back. He smiled, he liked the color. It suited him just fine. He turned to see everyone else still getting their wings. He then walked into the weaponry portion of the room and frowned. He liked his sword, and it did the job wonderfully, but it would break soon.

"Well, looks like I may need to find a new one in here after all. They have a pretty big selection, so I don't think it will be that hard." He smirke as he came to a stand that had only two swords on it. His face went blank when he saw it. The sword that he knew would be the best for him.(Of course it s the one that I said he would be using.)

He picked it up and slid it our of its sheith. He looked it over and then put it back in its protective cover. He set his old one down, and then walked over to the rest of them. "So, we are protecting her. I have a feeling that this is going to be interesting. Anyone else feel the same way?" He smirked as he watched her.

Axel hated the feeling when the wings sprouted from his back. He turned to see the exact same expressions on everyone else's face. They finally made their way through his back and the pain left his back completely. his wings were a goldish orange color. He moved his left wing then his right. He was quite impressed with himself. He walked into the armory right behind Kite. He walked up to the counter where the other two swords.

"I want that one," he said pointing to a compact saber. The clerk nodded and pulled the sword ff of the stand. The clerk pulled the sword from its sheath and handed it to him to inspect it. He held it out with an outstretched hand. It was very light and easy to maneuver. "Its a nice blade,"

"Thank you, we also have something else for you," the man said pulling a pair of half gloves out from behind the counter. Axel picked them up and slid them on, they were almost up to his elbow. They had metal arm guards and had steel inlaid in the knuckles.

"These are impressive gloves, how will I pay for these?"

"Just like the sword it is to help you defend the Savior, it is complementary," Replied the man fidgeting with a weapon behind the counter. Axel smiles and grabbed the sword off of the counter leaving the armory.

Ashura looked around to see that everyone was getting their wings. She also got hers and they were a nice white and gold. The tips and the outer portion were a bright gold and the rest was a simple white. She loved her wings and then left the room to go to the armory.

When Ashura got to the armory there was a lot of weapons to choose from. But one caught her eye and it seemed to fit for her job. It was a nice staff (ignore the guy from tsubasa in it) that could probably help the world and it was very cute too.

She went up to the clerk and said, "I want that staff up there."

"Yes, ma'am," he replied taking down the staff and handing it to her. "Here you go."

"Thank you. Do I have to pay for it?"

"No. Since your'e the Savoir you don't have to."

"What about everyone else? Do they?"

"No. They don't have to since they're here to protect you, the Savoir."

"Okay. Thank you for your kindness."

Ashura bowed with respect and left the armory room. Orthaos came up to Ashura and told her everything that she wanted to know.

Alyssa watched the crowded room as some of the others admired their new wings that came sprouting from their backs. Wings, powers, and weapons, she thought. "Are you kidding me?" She said, mumbling to herself in a low voice. "I had other things to do with my life before this." Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a young man looking at her suspiciously. "Hi," she said and turned away walking over to man who seemed to be handing out swords and such to people.

"Is there anything in particular that you need?" he asked. Giving her a quick eye up he suggested, "You look like a like more a long range type of person."

"You're right," she agreed giving him one of her good smiles. " Can I get eight ammo clips. Four glock and four CZ-17's please. That's all I think that I'll need."

"Are you sure that'll be enough?"

"Yeah, I'm sure," she said smiling even bigger when he handed them over to her. She slipped them down into her belt to hold and then gasped when she thought she felt someone pull on her shoulder. Turning around she saw no one. Then realized the pulling was still happening. The feeling moved down toward her shoulders blades and yanked back until a pair of periwinkle colored wings popped from her back. She looked over her shoulder at them admiringly and reached out to stroke one. "Ok then," she said. "Maybe I do like this afterall."

"Hiya Joe."
"Well hey there Akiko. How are you?"
"Doing good, I think I'll take the usual this time as always."
"You sure, they're makeing them heavier."
"Good, what's on the menu tonight?'
The back left wall swung around showing a beautiful selection of giant Scyths some that were black, red and one particualr one that cought her eyes.
"I think I'll take the Backbone tonight Joe."
"Alrighty then."
He pulled the scyth off the wall that was shaped like a large spinal chord.
"Busy night tonight?"
"Yeah"
"Good luck."
"Thanks, Alright everyone, as you can see there is a large selection here, every mission you will be able to choose a diffrent weapon, but the weapon of your choice is what you are limited to, if you chose a sword as I see some of you have, you are limited to swords. Understand?"
They nodded and she waited outside for them to finish.

Ashen frowned. Everyone else had either white or gray wings and he was stuck with black. What he would have given for a gray pair.

He watched as people chose thier weapons and looked at his sword. "I think I will stick to this." He had this sword and his other but he wouldn't dare use it lest it take control of him.

He dropped his head and walked outside staring up at the sky and looking at the stars. He didn't mind risking his life to save this girl. He would gladly die for her.

He heard a noise as the door opened and turned to see Akiko standing there. "Oh Hi"

"Cool wings."
She extended one of her own leatheay black wing and showed him, she moved it slightly and smiled as the light changed the color on the inside of them.
"Your wings don't reflect who you are, they're just a color, everyone's are diffrent. that's just the way it happens."
She smiled at him and looked up at the sky as well.
"They're bright tonight, it'll make things easy then."
she put a hand on his shoulder and smiled as he looked away.
"Trust people, they'll help you."

"They are here."
"Send them in. Has the capitain been made?"
"Yes."
"Good, then send them in immediatly, we have to get started, has the other neen located?"
"We are working on it."
"the SAvior has already been found and introduced to her gaurdieans. I want the other!"

"Who is Capitain?"
A young women stepped forward. Nodding Jena got down to bussiness explaining things.

Kite flapped his wings a couple times then frowned. He didn;t like that he was given all of these things, and yet nothing signifying what they were really doing was showing itself. He looked around and saw that everyone was doing their own thing. He finally shook his head and then leaned agianst the wall, waiting until it was time to leave. "When are we going to get to fight? Man, this is getting a little boring."

Axel walked out of the armory, he slipped the sword onto his back. He wasn't planning on using it, his main focus was hand to hand combat and he was planning on doing a lot of that. His gauntlets were amazing, they were even made so you could. deflect melee weaponry if you are fighting hand to weapon combat. This was ideal for Axel because there was nothing he liked better than making a fight personal by a punch to the face. He made a few quick jabs in the air and practiced kicking. The wings surprisingly didn't hamper is balance, it was as if they wern't there.

Axel then leaned against the wall waiting for the others, they seemed to be taking their time in the armory. He sat and fidgeted with his gloves. He noticed Kite who seemed in a particularly impatient mood. He walked over to him.

"Names Axel," he said reaching out his hand for Kite to shake. "I thought that since we are fighting side by side we should be acquainted," Kite gave him a strange look.

"Kite," he replied grabbing Axel's hand.

"Kite huh? Well, Kite, do you remember how you got here? Cause I sure as hell don't,"

The building stretched for the sky like a black, deformed arm poking out of the aftermath of a mudslide. Not knowing for sure how far he walked or how he knew this tower was the right one, Bert entered the door at the ground floor.

What met his eyes immediately reminded him of ?Hotel California? by the Eagles. A black marble floor stretched across a hotel-like lobby. Blood red armchairs scattered the left side of the entrance, with tapestries hanging from the walls. To the right, what would be the reception area in a hotel was left unattended, melted candles on the stone countertop. Flanking the desk was a staircase, dimly lit and surely the descent to Bert?s destination, to the one who had summoned him out of the darkness, the one who had granted him life after death. Perhaps the Stairway to Hell.

?You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave,? he mumbled as he gazed down at the darkness that blanket all that lay below. ?Maybe if I?m lucky I?ll get the pink champagne.? A numbing mist seemed to be clearing out of Bert?s thoughts as he remembered the circumstances of his death.

Kid. Ice cream. Parents picked him up, when I looked back. Cab. Burnt rubber. And the Voice? Hellinger.

A quick check of his ribs and legs showed no signs of irregularity. Searching the inside of his jacket, he was relieved to discover his guns still nestled safely inside the pockets, waiting for their next victim. Bert believed he would be using them a great deal more in death than he had in life.

After what he estimated to be two flights downward, Bert reached a door on a landing. It matched the sofas in the lobby in hue, and made Bert slightly uneasy. For a moment, he considered wandering off into the darkness forever. Living as a shade. As the thought became rational he heard movement from within the door. Taking a deep breath, his hand settled itself on the golden knob. He twisted- he pulled- he stepped into the room underneath the tower.

Another desk, behind which sat a woman shuffling through papers. She looked up and stared into Bert?s grey eyes with a smirk.

?You?re late,? she said.

Another woman turned rapidly, wielding two weapons he recognized only from Arcade fighting games. Two black wings reached out of her back, looking as natural as the head on her shoulders. If nature ever personified evil, Bert thought, this who it would have made. Shock shot through his body as his mind attempted to qualify what he was seeing.

?Don?t be startled. My name is Jena. This is Eris Hellinger,? the woman behind the desk reported.

Bert blinked, gathering himself. ?I never thought hell would have a secretary,? he replied caustically.

?Oh, this isn?t hell,? Eris said. ?We saved you from that. We thought you might be too useful to burn. We had our eyes on you for a while, in fact. Once you began taking lives to fulfill you own we knew we had to have you.?

The words felt like an ice-cold hand scratching Bert?s spine. He trembled at the though of being watched his entire life, at a life of servitude after death, at nearly being licked by the flames of hell. But something about the words pleased him. Purpose.

As he prepared to speak again a searing pain erupted behind his shoulder blades. He collapsed to the floor in syncopated screams as two charcoal black wings protruded in the direction of the ceiling. Writhing in the agony his new appendages gave him, he screamed, ?What the fuck am I here for?!?

?Be patient, be calm, and all will be revealed,? Jena answered.

Aruta went and got her wings. Her wings were a white with a purple and black tint. She liked her wings and walke out of the room to the armory. When she got there, she saw a lot of magic staffs that caught her eye but she still liked the one she had for herself. She decided to keep hers and when the time came to change it, she would. She walked out of the armory and went outside. She looked at the sky and saw all the birds flying high. She also saw Kite and Axel.

She walked over to them and said," Hey there. I'm sure we haven't met. The name's Aruta and you tow are?"

"I'm Kite."

"And I'm Axel."

"You guys have cool names. So I guess we have to guard the Savior at all costs don't we?"

"I guess we do. It's not like we have a choice or anything. I mean, we can back down right now if we wanted to," said Kite as he heaved a big sigh.

"I agree with Kite. We do have a choice but I feel like I can't back down," said Axel as he looked at the sky.

"I agree too. This is going to be harder than I thought."

Ashen nodded. "I trust everyone here. i would gladly die for all of them as well even though I don't know them. It is just that my reputation precedes me and as you know it isn't a good one. They don't trust me they expect me to betray them"

He sighed as he looked around when he felt two hands on his shoulders and spun him around. "your going to meet people come on" Ashen let himself be pushed into the room. "Great"
