Well today I heard this great song which actually remind me that what I say to others can really affect them. Which got me to thinking about this boy. There is this one boy in my school that I didn't notice until he had to sit next to me. Well this boy I guess get made fun of and beat up by other kids.

After a while I noticed that nobody talked to this guy. Here is the scary part why. He has this list of people he wants dead! Yeah it scared me to the first time I saw it too.

Then one day he tells me he likes me. Now I'm scared out of my wits. I was like backing away, but guys this is before I got to know him and he ended up being this really nice guy.

To get to the point I'm asking you if you have had a similar experience or if you met someone who has scared you beyond belief. If have tell how happened or if you and that person actually became friends. :animesmil

Don't worry, many bullied kids have those. I had one too when I was a preteen, just not in written form but in my mind. It's the bullied students' way of getting back at world, and only in the most gravest circumstances have people "used" those lists.

I wish the school faculties would try to see where the problems lie if they find that sort of writings, instead of freaking out because there's a "black list" and kicking the poor person out of the school.

... Oh, the topic is about freaks in general. I don't know if I believe in dividing people to "freaks" and "normal" people. We're all quirky in our own way. Besides, when I watch American high school dramas, I'm more freaked out by the always-aggresive jocks and airheaded cheerleaders than by the goths or nerds. ;P

Okay, the person that I met that kinda weirded me out was a guy that I got to know really well. We met out freshmen year of hughschool he had just moved there and his fiance had just broken up with him so he was kinda egdey. He put on this big tough guy front so no one would bully him or mess with him for that matter and we spoke for a little bit but mostly we fought.
Our spohmore year I got to know him better and he turned out to be a great guy just misunderstood. Inventually actually began to date him and we got to be really very close, that was going on 4 years now and we're happily married and have a 14 month old son. People here know him as Knuckles. :animesmil

When the topic is more about people who frightened you and yet turned out to be nice after all.

People like that aren't freaks in any respect. And the list thing is pretty normal for people who have been picked on. The media makes that kind of thing out to be some type of crazy kid who will go nuts due to a few extreme examples.

As for the topic, no I haven?t met anyone who scared me and turned out to be nice. I?ve met people who were scary in how intolerant and stupid they were and they were anything but nice.

So my brother's friend is this really tall girl and on Valentine's Day the biggest and meanest jerk in the class with anger management issues asks her to be his Valentine :animeswea Well either she said know or someone laughed at him for asking her but in the next moment he winged a chair across the classroom! XD He's in grade 6 and he's like that so that's a little scary... XD

1)I don't really believe in classifying people as "freaks," or classifying people in any way at all.

2)As Sandy said, yes, many people have these lists. They aren't that uncommon.

3)How do you know he has this list? Because when people make them, they tend to keep it private. He wouldn't just go up and say "Here, take a look at this," or anything like that. If I were to venture a guess, you heard it from someone else. Just gossip.

Some advice: Don't believe everything you hear. If you must judge people, get to know them first.

Like I said I sat next to him and he had a crush on me and like I said I saw the list with my own two eyes. I'd give you names but what good would that do. Now me and him are close friends because I got to know him better. You either misunderstood me when I said I saw it but then I might not be that clear when I write. Who knows.

Oh, dear, sweet god I could have reched through the computer abd smacked you in the face after readin that first post. You want to know what I'm afraid of? Prejudice. I'm afraid that people are gunna hate me or be afraid of me enough that they're gunna kill me. That one day I'll be chased into a windmill and burned to a crisp for not understanding society. What I fear is the omplete lack of acceptance that I've had to deal with every day of my life.

Who are the freaks I've met? Who scares me? All of the people like you.

Be honest here 2007DigitalBoy if you saw a list like that especially with all the nonsense going on these days, I would imagine you too might be startled or even frightened by it until you got to know them.

But more importantly, lets do away with telling other members that they are freaks when there is no need for it. That was completely uncalled for.

Hey, hold on here. I think you are mistunderstanding NIKI. I don't feel as if she is using the term "freak" in the way that you are taking it.

Honestly, when I saw the title of the thread I immediately thought she was talking about people who others perhaps tend to misunderstand/judge because they aren't conformed. They are different and somehow being different makes them a sterotypical "freak".

I however, feel that those who are seen as diverging from conventional schemes are the rather interesting, amazing, and even extraordinary ones. Your average this or that does not garner as much attention as the thing that stands out. That's the usage of the word "freak" that I think NIKI is leaning towards.
All the nicest people I know have lists of people they want dead. Some of the best just have whole categories of people, like 'Jews' or 'Preps' or stuff like that.
Yeah same here my best friend wanted to die because she was new to the state and people were making fun of her now I helped her and we have been best friends for over 4 years. Same for my friend Jesse her dad is still hunting her down trying to kill her and she is now my best friend for over a year. It seems that the people that aren't like everyone else are closest to us because we had to help them get trough there pain together.

On topic:
I met the scariest pair of soldiers one time my friend and I were mapping a road. They took us for a couple of them rebels up in the mountains and interrogated us for a good thirty hours. Of course we were scared; far too many accounts of the horrendous things they do to rebels have reached our ears by then. My friend and I acted really really clueless (we looked the part anyways). They bought the act and were even kind enough to correct the map we had on hand.

I have a list of people I want dead myself. Or rather, a list of people the world would be better off without. It hold no fruition. Kids with these lists are just beng dumb. We get emotional about people picking on us and so we start hating oters and hating ourselves. We tell ourselves 'oh yeah? Well I'll just kill you then!'

Most of us don't have the constitution to do so. There are those who are driven over the edge. I'm thankful to have never been driven that far, but by god if there haven't been times when I just wanted to mow people down.

Thank god there's video games to sustain some of us, or we might be dangerous.
I however, feel that those who are seen as diverging from conventional schemes are the rather interesting, amazing, and even extraordinary ones. Your average this or that does not garner as much attention as the thing that stands out.
Most people seem to have this opinion too when they get to know people like me. The reason being, most people who are outcasts are just like normal people. If we hadn't grown up in an environment tat forced us to be reclusive, we'd be into the same things as everyone else, living the same happy lives.

In a way, beng picked on can make a lot of us better people. We don't want to be like those people who tormented us, uz we don't want more people to suffer. That's why sometimes a 'freakish' peron can be so nice to others. We only pray someone will see through the shell of pain.
Boy, can't argue with that logic.
I'm trying to figure out if that was sarcasm or agreement, but in the end I'll just write it down as poppycock. Either way, I think I said that just to make a point, friend. Off topic statements: 1 Forgotten-Hero: a puzzled expression.

I don't know what I'd do with out Diablo II or games like Doom. Nothing like a good run of senseless slaughter to put one's day back into prospective.
