kalon
I've been nominated to go to the National Youth Leaders Conference, or NYLC. The problem is, the application is due by March 23, along with the tuition. Tuition runs at about $2300 (not including transportation to and from Washington, D.C., as well as lunches and incidentals), which would be every penny of every paycheck my mom is going to get until the due date. Unless I can raise funds from other places, then there is no possible way I can go. If any of you have any good ideas for fundraising, I'd love to hear them. I've got a long way to go if I'm going to be able to do this.
nezzyjean
You could probably make a couple hundred bucks by having a garage sale. (plus de-clutter your room!) Or get a part time job and save every penny. If you work more hours you can get more money, plus you will be too busy to spend any of it, so it'll be easier to save. Retribution
I'm assuming you don't have money in the bank you could use, or that this program doesn't give loans/scholarships/fee waivers for those eligible? Realistically, you won't make much in a month, even if you got a job tomorrow and worked ever hour you had after school for every day. If you don't have any money saved, and there's no sort of financial aid you can get, you might be out of luck. Ask about getting fee waivers or something, though. Most programs have them.
Guest NIKI12345
Babysit. Watch people's dogs, tutor people with their homework, Here is a dumb idea. Tell people that you know how to make 500 dollars every month. Well tell them you'll tell them the secret if they sign a membership fee which makes them pay 15 dollars every week. Once papers are signed tell them what I just told you. Tell them to do excatly what you did. PS Make sure you get about a hundred people to sign and be willing to pay. Don't forget about other jobs. Don't buy food live off of water and I guess bread. You might then make enough. Try it I made like 50 bucks on this. :animesmil
Aaryanna
You could try using companies like this one Fundraiser but with the deadline being so close I don?t know if you would have enough time to come up with enough money to fund the trip. I?d definitely do what Retribution suggested and see if there is any type of program at your school where you would qualify for a fee waiver. kalon
Thanks for all the advice, but I'm afraid I've wasted your time. My mom now says that I'm too young to go to Washington, D.C. with a bunch of strangers. But just for curiosity's sake, I did check the official website, but their advice was to do a fundraiser, and I saw nothing about waivers.
