Kairi
?Where are you!? the young mans usual cool demeanor vanished as a coffee mug flew over-head amongst the other desks in the office and smashed into the nearest wall. The soothing smell of Starbuck coffee flooded the office space as it began to stain in the wall. While many other FBI agents turned their attention to the loan desk in the northeastern corner, Special Agent Frank Michal kept his sights to the loads of paperwork in his desk, ignoring his recent outburst. September 20th, 1960?another mansion is found abandoned on the outskirts of Japan. The belongings of almost 20 missing person?s reports around the world have been found within the mansion?no bodies have been found?no witnesses. In all my years of service to my country, I?ve never seen anything like this?anywhere. Have there been more of these?have more of these occurred that just simply haven?t been documented? March 3rd, 1987?we are convinced this is the work of a mimic?a copycat of the original murders back in 1960?this is the seventh. We?ve acquired a photograph of the complex?s owner?however there seems to be no paper trail to follow. This?Dante Lui?ci seems to be a ghost. July 16th, 1990?this report is filed by Special Agent Frank Barrows. Whoever this man is?he is becoming daring, and the frequency of these events are increasing with each year. It has been told to me that his hunger for?whatever it is that he does is increasing. It is puzzling that with each new photograph acquired through a single paper trail of property ownership, he continues to change in appearance. However that damn smile??.is he taunting us?how can he still be alive?is he letting us find these photos?because all leads have come to a dead end. ?Are you alright Michal?? Special Agent Maria Lowes came up from behind Frank who gave no sign of acknowledgement to her voice? ?No?.? Franks voice trailed off as he continued to shift through old reports on the case. ?I don?t know what to do Maria?? she quickly pulled up a chair next to him. ?We can?t put out a photograph of him on our Most Wanted List because of the constant change in photo?the rest of the world things we?re nuts, that this is all a hoax due to no bodies have ever been found. They just cover things up that they don?t understand and pass them off as fairy tales.? Frank paused for a moment; Maria listening intently? ?But we found his body Frank; why are you still concerned about finding him. We found the body of an old man in the mansion that had the same appearance as the most recent photograph that we had of Dante Lui?ci. He was one of only a few bodies that weren?t taken in the fire. The case is closed.? ?I don?t believe that?this doesn?t fit his pattern. This was the first time there were any bodies?and what of the missing body?? Now Maria was becoming slightly irritated with Frank, ?it could have been an accident where his games finally caught up with him and ultimately killed him, we was after all an old man and may have lost his touch. As for the other crimes dating back to the 1400?s?it could?ve been a family legacy, you just don?t know those details Frank! At least he?s dead!? There was a long pause? ?Do you know what my father used to say to me about this case?? Franks father was an FBI agent himself who spent his entire life on the Lui?ci cases. Maria said nothing; Frank finally turned to her in his chair away from his desk and she simply nodded?allowing him to continue. ?He used to tell me about Hansel and Gretel?do you remember that story.? ?Of course I do?but what does a child?s fairy tale have to do with this case?? Frank smiled at her; if only she could see and know what he had in his mind about all this?about the horror that he predicted for the next victims. ?In the story of Hansel and Gretel, the two children are drawn to the house due to it being made of candy?it enticed them, and an old woman invites them in to share what the house had to offer. However, in the end?the old woman plans to eat the children.? ?So?? Agent Maria had a very apparent look of annoyance at this fabrication and insanity that she saw Frank going down. ?This is the real world Frank, you?re losing it. Maybe you need to make a visit to the psychiatrist. You have forgotten that this past incident was different than the others. For once we have bodies?instead of going off on your fairy tale nonsense?case closed?move on? She shook her head and got herself up from her seat. You don?t understand Maria?all fairy tales have truth?they?ve just been changed from century to century?I don?t know why?I don?t know how?but maybe?just maybe? Frank took a moment to stop his thinking, for the result was just too unreal to think of?all his training told him not to think in such dimensions. But at this stage of the game?he had no other options. ?Something evil?something evil was at work here?and evil?never dies? *** ?Has everything been arranged?? his voice was confident and almost heartwarming as the Master of Games walked down a long golden hallway with stretch out red carpet leading all the way to the Gallery of Dreams. The Gallery was more like a Grand Hall that lead outside through its massive twin doors. Two spiral staircases went up to the second floor where two separate wings, one leading east, and the other leading west. In the east wing were the living quarters for his guests; the west was his living area. The remainder of the massive complex was connected to the Gallery from the first floor. A single servant stood at his side as they both made their way to the front door, which was already open, letting in the fresh salt air of the Australian coastline. The Master of Games leaned against a cane on his left side with a black spherical globe on it?s top with a glint of red shining from its center. The Master of Games was young and strong; his long silver hair blowing in the rush of wind from outside, covering his deep emerald eyes. ?Everything has been done as you?ve requested my Lord, we shall be leaving shortly to pick them all up.? The slave was a big black man who was dressed in a white suit. ?Thank you, you may take your leave.? The servant bowed to his master as Dante did likewise in acknowledgement and watched his servant head towards a long line of black limousines. One by one they exited the courtyard with a simple, yet large fountain in its center. Dante himself wore a black suit with a long brown trench coat. In his right hand he began to feel up and down the envelopes in his pocket the first of many cards that he would present to his guests. ?let the games begin? *** Welcome everyone to the House of Dreams. In this place everything you want will be yours. Johnny Justjohnny
Ry had never been to Australia before. He had never been somewhere that was consistently sunny, even ? never saw the point of it, really, said that he preferred the cold anyway. But now that he was actually here, he felt that maybe it wasn?t so bad afterall ? once he put sunglasses on to block the intense sunlight, that is. He hadn?t actually set foot on Australian soil, though ? he was still standing on the concrete loading-unloading zone of the airport, but, he figured, it was close enough. In one hand Ry held everything he had brought with him, all stored inside a relatively-small travel bag. His flute, a series of books, and, of course, all his medicines and tonics. He had a bit of trouble getting through customs because of these, but luckily they didn?t notice the false bottom that concealed his more illicit treatments, and his papers were sufficient to get them into the country. ?Mr. Peters.? It was a statement, not a question, and it had come from directly behind Ry, the way only black-suited tough-looking men could. It startled Ry quite a bit, but he realized quickly enough who the man was, and regained his composure. ?My ride!? Again, more a statement then a question. The man ? huge, dark-skinned and dressed in a formal suit that, Ry mused, must have been insufferably hot ? just nodded wordlessly behind his pair of dark sunglasses. The man jerked his thumb through the throng of people to a glossy black stretch-limo, still running, in one of the loading zones. ?Extravagant.? Ry remarked, whistling reverently at the beautiful luxury-car. The man turned on his heel and marched through the crowd, which seemed to open for him like the Red Sea, Ry trailing in his wake. The reached the car and the man opened the back door and stepped back, allowing Ry to climb in and toss his bag onto the empty seat besides him. The man closed the door and left Ry to inspect the beautiful interior. Ry had never been accustomed to luxury ? it made him kind of uncomfortable to be so far out of his element, but he figured this was as good a time as any to adapt. The car was beautiful ? ridiculously roomy, with leather seats on both sides and a beautiful carpet floor. Ry whistled again. The man climbed into the car, but only his head was visible over the embankment of chairs and pillows at the other end, so Ry couldn?t quite tell what he was doing. He seemed to be fiddling with something, and then the car smoothly pulled out of the loading zone and down the ramp, fighting through a pile of traffic and onto the surprisingly-unclogged road. ?Hey, big guy, how long you expect it?ll be until we get to the mansion?? Ry asked as he settled into his chair more. ?Three hours to the ferry.? Ry sat upright, gulping, ?And then another hour to the Island.? ?Ah? I don?t supposed you have any water on you?? Ry asked as he reached for his bag, unzipping it and taking out the bag-within-a-bag that held his meds. The dose he took in the bathroom mid-flight would never last him that long, so he decided to keep his meds handy if he felt the crazy creeping back into him. The man didn?t say anything, but he must have pressed a button, for the center of the seat across from Ry lifted up and unfolded to reveal a well-stocked mini-bar. Ry ignored the booze for now ? he?d seen what happens when he mixed his meds with alcohol, and it wasn?t pretty ? and went for a small hose the dispensed water, drawing himself a glass. He stuffed a few unspecified pills into his mouth, mumbled something along the lines of ?hope you don?t mind,? and downed them all with one gulp of water. Keeps him balanced, keeps him level, keeps him Ry. The ride seemed longer then three hours. The radio was broken, or so the man said, so Ry had to busy himself reading, something that became somewhat less enjoyable when in a car. But, eventually, after mile-after-mile of outback, they finally arrived at the coast. There was a large metal dock there with a well-maintained, if small, building set up there. From the looks of it, no one else was here yet. The man got out and came around, opening Ry?s door for him. Ry grabbed his bag, stuffed his meds in, zipped it back up, and crawled out of the car, stretching out the kinks and knots in his cramped muscles. There was no ferry ? large or small ? docked at the port, so Ry just looked at the man quizzically. ?Wait inside. Others are coming, and then the ferry will be here to bring you all to the Island. It won?t be long.? Ry, feeling assured, thanked the man for driving him, and walked towards the small building. The man got back in his car and drove off, leaving Ry feeling a bit abandoned. But the building, he found, contained a few far-more-friendly denizens who welcomed him and told him to sit and wait and that it would only be a little while until the ferry got here. Ry felt oddly disconcerted.
Lord Of Terror
Kuro packed his things and awaited the arrival of his transportation to the airport. By the time the bus arrived his ex-girlfriend had left for school. He had only told her he was leaving, nothing more nothing less. There was no reason for her to know he was about to be living the high life in Dante Lui'ci's mansion. It semmed to take hours to get to the airport. The stench of strong sweat mixed with faint colone resided on his "Bus-mate". When they finnaly arrived at the airport he was relived to get out and strech his legs. He had no cash on him, but he went to the nearest ATM and took out $3,000 of the money Dante has placed in his bank account. He wasn't shure when the next time he was going to have access to another ATM or bank so he made shure to get enough so he could enjoy all the plesent things in Australia. Today I ride 1st class he thought to himself as he purchased he ticket. Upon boarding the plane he noticed how much nicer 1st Class was than coach, he had never ridden on anything other than coach. After the takeoff he summoned the stewardess for a pellow, allthough the seats where very comfertable. He fell asleep and woke up as they where flying above the coral reef. After landing he picked up his bags and stared around looking for anyone who stood out in the croud. There he was, a rather large black man dressed in suit. He seemed to me staring back at him, then he made a motion with his hand for Kuro to come. "Mr. Monvoni" the man said. Motioning to the shiny limo we walked over and he opedned the door. The interior was incredable leather seats, carpeted floors, mini-bar it was loaded! Unlike the airplane it took him a few hours to get comfertable enough to fall asleep. He finally positoned himself across the two seats, he was 6'3 so this was a tad difficult. He awoke with a start as the limo started down a steep hill trowing him off the seat. when he was able to get himself back in the seat he realized they where at a dock. "How long have I been asleep?" he asked the driver. "About three hours" he said I looked up at him through the glass seperating the two, "how long till the mantion?" he asked. "Another hour on the ferry" he stoped the car as we pulled into the dockside parkinglot. There was no other sign of people, save for the older-looking man standing by the dock. The driver got out and opened the door, "wait here, the others will be joining soon." he said. Kuro grabbed his things along with some liquor, hey why not, it was free right?.The limo left leaving him with the older male, so he went beside and listened while he played a flute. He was good.
Neko
Mariko waited outside the door to the internet café for a full six hours, barely able to surpress her giddiness. And for good reason; after living out on the streets for the better part of six years, who wouldn't accept a gracious invitation to a beautiful mansio, and participate in such an interesting-sounding contest? It was almost too good to be real, and she wouldn?t have believed it If she hadn?t seen the e-mail with her own eyes. By the time the café closed, it was almost pitch-black outside. Mariko watched the door patiently, waiting for the last person to leave. She had kept very close watch over everyone that had come and gone since she had gotten kicked out earlier that day. Finally, the last person left, the door slowly creaking closed. In the blackness of the night, nobody would notice a little girl silently slipping through the closing door. Mariko checked, double-checked, and double-double-checked her surroundings, then did the whole thing again. When she was convinced that there was absolutely no possibility of anyone seeing her, even from outside, she pushed a button, and a computer buzzed to life, the moniter flaring up for a moment before displaying the desktop. Mariko smiled, clicking on the internet icon and accessing her e-mail. To: Dante Lui'ci From: Mariko-chan Subject: the Contest Dear Mr. Dante Lui'ci, Thank you for this wonderful offer! I would be honored to come to your mansion and play your game. I'm not sure why you picked me to come, or even really how you know about me, but...It sounds like a wonderful time! The rules you supplied in your e-mail seem a bit strange, but I'm sure it'll be explained when I get there. Once again, I'd like to thank you for this offer. P.S: Your escort can find me on a bench outside the internet café in the twelfth district of Tokyo. I'm sorry to say that I'm somewhat...lacking in a proper house at the moment. Mariko clicked the 'Send' button, waited for the message to be sent, and silently turned off the computer. She took a moment to glance at the station next to her; there had once been another girl in the same hopeless situation as her, who would find solace in this same place. They had been best of friends. Mieruru, had been her name. But one day she had said, with a tearful smile, ?I?m sorry, Mariko, but you won?t be seeing me anymore. Thank you?for everything.? And then she was gone. By the time Mariko made her way out of the internet café,the smile that had slowly been creeping across her face couldn't be contained anymore, and she let out a rather inordinately loud giggle as she walked toward the bench she said the escort could find her at. At roughly three o'clock that morning, she smiled once again as a sleek black limo pulled up to the curb right in front of her. The tinted window slid silently down, revealing two men seated in lavish leather chairs. The man sitting in the passenger seat looked briefly down at a slip of paper. "Are you...miss ?Mariko??" the man asked politely, reading her name off the paper. Mariko smiled and gave a polite bow. "Yup, that's me!" she answered happily, practically shaking with the excitement. "Please get in, make yourself comfortable," the man said politely, and the back door opened on it's own. Mariko nodded with another polite bow, and hopped into the limo. They slowly, silently made their way towards the airport with the lights off, as if they didn't want to be seen. Understandable, considering what they were doing, where they were going. The airport was completely uneventful and inconspicuous. There was already a small, private plane waiting for them, and the flight was totally perfect in every way - except there were no peanuts. Well, beggars can?t be choosers, after all. When they arrived at the mansion at around eight o'clock however, was a totally different experience. Mariko's eyes brightened in wonder. How could such a beautiful place exist in the world? Compared to the cramped, city-style atmosphere of Tokyo, this place was like heaven! And she hadn't even gotten to the front gate yet. She was, in fact, gazing at it from a pretty good distance away. She was actually at a port, in front of a small building where two other men, dressed in normal attire, were already waiting. Those must be the other contestants, Mariko thought to herself. She didn?t want to act conspicuous, so she found a nice quiet corner to sit down in. On of the two escorts looked down and spoke softly to her. "You may wait here. The other contestants will be arriving soon." Other contestants? Mariko asked herself. You mean there are even more coming? Mariko nodded, still in a sort of trance, and waited happily, if admittedly a bit nervously, for the rest of these contestants to arrive. Heh, if anyone who cares noticed, I managed to sneak in my other character with a relationship with Mariko. ...Hey, Kairi? What ever happened to Mieruru, anyway? ...Do I want to know? Horendithas
It didn?t take long for the days to pass before right on schedule a small limo pulled up in front of his residence in Salt Lake City to take Sena to the airport. He was already waiting with a small carry on case along with a small sum of cash and his passport and anything else he would need. Surprisingly he didn?t have that much to take with him, probably the only exception being his small laptop since he never went anywhere without one. After confirming that he was indeed Sena the limo driver handed him an envelope that once he was inside and the driver was on his way, he opened it up to find first class tickets to Australia. Along with brief instructions to the effect that Dante Lui?ci would have someone waiting in Australia at the airport to take him to his mansion. It ended with a warm sentiment along the lines of thanking him for accepting the invitation. Sena kept the ticket out and put the envelope in his bag with his other things. He had thought to perhaps question the driver, but it was obvious to him now that he was nothing more than a hired service paid to pick him up. He would have to wait until he got to Australia. It had been a long time since he had flown anywhere and the plane ride was uneventful, there was no one to really talk to but he did not care, he merely pulled out his laptop and worked on projects he had in mind for when he started his own business. Something that if things went well at the mansion would be a reality once he had the financing to back things up. He smiled to himself when the plane finally landed in Australia; things were going right for a change. He gathered his things and exited the plane and as promised the limo to take him to the mansion was waiting for him. A large black man dressed in a white suit courteously opened the door for him and then once he was situated he got in and began drive him through the city. Sena tried to question him but other than to explain that it would take three hours to get to the coast and then another hour by ferry to reach the island, he would say no more. Indicating that he would need to speak to his master. With a sigh Sena dropped the subject and instead immersed himself in paying attention to the surroundings as he had never been to Australia before, but in no time he was bored and he turned instead to the inside of the limo to fix himself something to drink as it was obvious no expense had been spared. He had just enough to help himself relax but not enough to interfere with his ability to think. It would reflect poorly on him if he were to arrive drunk. Then finally they arrived at what had to be the dock where they would board the ferry. Some of the others had already arrived after all as it had said in the e-mail he would not be the only one there. He got out of the limo when the driver stopped and then opened the door for him. He nodded absently mindedly when the driver told him to wait. He was already checking out the others who had arrived. Curious as to why they too had been chosen. TheResplendent
Ben had just finished getting dressed, throwing on a light button down shirt of a beachfront on it. He left it open revealing his well toned abdominal and chest. He finished the look off with his sunglasses and walked into his large living room where the rays of the hot brazilian sun beamed through his door and windows, lighting the place up fine with no need for lamps or lightbulbs. He picked up a few things scattered on the floor from the party he had held the previous night with about fifty of his friends. Things had gotten pretty wild near the end of the night, needless to say Ben had gotten quite a good sleep afterwards and was well rested for the big day. He looked at his wrist watch, it was still a couple of hours yet before the limo was supposed to pick him up and take him to the airport. He double checked his baggage and placed them out infront of the door so they were there when he needed to grab them. Ben's trainer waited outside, as he spoke with a couple of the locals in the town down the road. Ben grabbed a few plastic bags of beer bottles and walked outside to toss them away and speak with his trainer, Dominick. "Dom, I didn't think you'd make it" Ben said, walking down the wooden stairs of his shoreside house. His trainer, Dominick Hayes smiled and politely told the people he was speaking with to excuse him. "Ben, you look good. Why would I not be here? I have to see you off. Don't worry about a thing with the committee either, I've informed them all and your fight on the upcoming card against against Chris Leben is being replaced." Dom said, as he extended his hand and shook Ben's. "Leben, ha. I've already beaten him in the first round with a KO. I'm doing him a favor by not being there." Ben said, laughing. He and Dom passed time as the Limo finally pulled up and Ben was greeted by a large man. He had a shaved head and had at least 40 pounds on Ben. He bowed in greeting to him and helped load his bags into the trunk of the limo. Some of Ben's friends from town saw him off along with his trainer, continuing to wave as the limo drove away with the guest of honor in the backseat. The limo pulled into the airport with an hour to spare before their flight. Before long the plane took off, headed west toward the exotic down under location of the mansion. Ben at first didn't put much stock in the entire part about havin his "every desire fulfilled", but did agree that it was an opportunity to have quite a few fulfilled. Thoughts raced through his head about what it would be like, as well as what kind of people would be there as well. He looked over at the Master's servant for a few seconds who was sitting beside him. He looked at the look on his face and wondered if his job left him ultimatley miserable, as Ben could never imagine what life would be like to serve someone else other than himself. "Hey." Ben said, trying to catch the servant's attention. He showed no reaction though. Ben moved his head to get a better view of his, he started moving his fingers about trying to get a reaction out of the servant but he seemed to not move even when he started making weird noises and waving his hands infront of his face like a maniac. It warranted a few other odd looks from other passengers. Once Ben noticed he cleared his throat and resituated himself in his seat. "Damn quiet types..." Ben said to himself as he tossed a peanut into his mouth and chewed on it. Several hours later the plane landed and yet another limo met Ben and the servant who boarded the plane alongside him. They were brought in front of the mansion, catching the attention of everyone that was there already. The driver got out first, and opened the door allowing Ben to step out. The light wind blew through his hair and his shirt, to the others it looked like a celebrity had just arrived. Granted Benjamin Moraes was somewhat of an internationally popular name, but not exactly your typical movie star status. The servant handed him his bags as Ben gave him a crisp two-fingered salute, followed by a "Thanks chief!" as he advanced toward the other contestants. He scanned them back and forth behind his sunglasses. 'Hm, what a shame. The only girl is a young child. I hope this isn't it, I'd have for this whole trip to have been somewhat of a waste.' Ben thought to himself, as he threw on a bright smile. "Well, pleased to meet you all. The name's Benjamin."
Nucifer
Allen slowly packed his things into his luggage. Some clothes, toothbrush, soap, towel, and the bible. Allen hesitated putting it in his back pack. His life was strictly devoted to this book. No not only his life was devoted to the bible but his whole family. He stared long at the hard cover, was he able to commit his life to it again? He already committed one major sin. For this God cut off all connection to Terry, this was already was the biggest punishment. He couldn?t think of a way to put his life back on track. He made up his mind putting the book inside his luggage. He couldn?t leave it his family would be suspicious. They would question him that he has lost his faith. To never lose faith because God would expel the evil inside you they said. They even tried hiring an exorcist to expel this ?evil?. Evil? Was Allen loving someone of the same sex considered a possession from the devil? Allen zipped his luggage, his plane tickets inside. He took his luggage off his bed, walked to his door, and slowly turned the basement knob. He opened the door and stared up. There was a long stairway leading up to the first floor of the house. Going up does steps would is the hardest part can he handle his parents disappointed stare? It was time to lie to his parents. Allen went upstairs to face his parents. His dad was sitting reading the newspaper grumbling about how there?s too much violence in the world. Allen?s mother was slouching in the couch watching her soap operas. It took two whole minutes until the acknowledge Allen?s presence. When both of them looked at him the world seemed to be at halt. ?Why you are out of the basement?.it?s not dinner? His father first asked. ?Catholic University? Allen whispered not staring at neither at his parents. ?It?s time already?? His mother smiled. ?Yes?? Allen sighed ?My plane will be taking off soon. I have to run to the airport.? ? Wait?? His mother got up and dusted of Allen. She quickly smiled yet it faded as quickly as it came. ?Catholic University correct?? ?Yes?? ??.How did you get in without them knowing about?.the evil spirit possessing you??? ?Evil?? Is a foreign place mother, they wouldn?t know anything. Anyways I think I?m cured mother!? Allen smiled ?See! I knew the fifteen exorcisms would work! Now run along, don?t forget to call? ?Yes mother? Allen said his final words and left. Neither he nor his father could say goodbye to each other. His father was been stubborn, disappointed on how things turned out and Allen been disappointed only at himself. Maybe going away was the best thing. As Allen got off the airport he found two people awaiting him. Dante Lui?ci servants he guessed. He couldn?t question his actions know coming this far. When outside a luxuries stretched out limo awaited him. Dante Lui?ci didn?t lie to him about him been rich. Yet for this kind of life how much does he have to repay? The road to Dante Lui?ci?s house was long and tedious ride. Allen was anxious to get to his destination yet he kept quite in the car. Soon he saw a gorgeous mansion outside his window, luxurious and grand. Even far from the house he could see it clearly, it must have been huge. This is the mansion he will be living in, in repay for a few chores. ?Wow?? Allen murmured ?That?s the house isn?t it wonderful, Sr. Laizor?? Redemption
The roar of the plane?s opening flaps awoke Ally from her deep slumber. Were they descending already? She leant over to her right and peered out the window. Between the clouds, the young French woman spotted a large port in which many container ships sailed in and out of. To the east of the large port was the wide blue Pacific Ocean. It shimmered its iridescent blue in the intense sunlight. To the west, buildings, trees and a large winding river could be seen far to the horizon, where small mountains jutted up from the land. Ally had heard that Australian beaches were some of the best in the world. It almost made it exciting enough to be there. But, in the back of her mind, where the trained soldier lay, warning bells were going off like mad. When Ally had checked her email two days ago, she was shocked to find an email from the ?Master of Games?, or so this man called himself. It wore on about fulfilling fantasies and desires, and being able to make any of those come true. Also, it mentioned this ?Master?s? fortunes that lay in the billions of dollars. Money didn?t really interest Ally, that wasn?t why she was going to the mansion at all. The prospect of having those memories, those nightmares, gone forever was an opportunity she couldn?t miss, even if she knew this wasn?t an ordinary situation. Her body shuddered at the mere thought of them. ====================================== The crunching of the gravel beneath the wheels of the car made Ally?s body freeze instantly. She relaxed after a few moments, realising it was only the wheels that were making the noise. It had been a long flight, and Ally tried to stay up for the majority of it. She didn?t want to alarm people with her antics while she experienced the nightmares, especially when they were all enclosed in a small space. Finally, the car ground to a halt. Ally opened the door herself and stepped out onto the creamy coloured sandstone tiles at the entrance of the mansion. There were a few other people standing around at the entrance, all waiting to be let in. Hiding her shaking hands in her long sleeves, Ally grabbed her small suitcase from out of the boot of the car and walked up the steps to the waiting group. They all stared at her as she approached, but she said nothing to them, trying to hide her nervous shaking hands. In an effort not to look at the others, Ally shielded her eyes and looked up into the clear azure sky. It was a beautiful afternoon. A soft sigh of relief left her body as she felt a slight sense of comfort wash over her. If this was going to be an adventure of sorts, at least it started out well.
Esther
?Excuse me Miss. Harrison, but your transportation has arrived.? A young male butler stood next to the multi-millionaire as she was laying face down on an extended chair basking in the warm Arizona sun. Slung over one arm he had Cecille?s clothes and was holding a silver tray with a single glass of champagne placed in the middle. Cecille slowly pushed herself up into a sitting position and grabbed the glass by the stem and took a sip. ?Mm, thank you Bradley. You can leave my clothes right there, and off with you for the day.? Cecille stood up while taking another sip from her wine, as the butler bowed slightly and quickly scurried out of the pool area and into the mansion. * * * * * * After about an hour and a half Cecille walked out into the pavement in front of her and her mothers mansion. Click, click, click. Cecille?s high heels made an echoing sound as she made her way to the limo. The chauffeur opened the door for the 23-year old, she stepped inside of the car while taking off her sunglasses and placing them into her purse. The chauffeur entered the car and looked at her through his rear view mirror, ?Where to,? he asked. Cecille?s eyes darted up to the mirror to make eye contact with him and answered ?Sky Harbor Airport.? Before she finished her sentence he had hit the accelerator and they were off. Cecille watched the desert scenery roll by on the way to the airport. ?I wonder what this place is going to be like, and this ?Master of Games? is really confusing. I just hope they have a good pool..? Cecille?s mind was filled with thoughts about the fortune, Dante Lui?ci and what was going to happen at the mansion. The limo rolled up into the airport and Cecille opened her door and grabbed her luggage as it was laid onto the concrete. The chauffeur tipped his hat saying, ?I hope you enjoy your vacation Miss. Harrison.? Cecille nodded and smiled warmly before walking into the airport and later on boarding the flight bound for Australia. * * * * * * Hours later Cecille arrived at the entrance of the mansion, to her surprise there were other individuals already milling about the gates. ?Other people..?? The man driving the car opened the door for her and said monotonously, ?You are not to enter until Sir Dante has made his appearance. Feel free to mingle with the other contestants.? ?Contestants?? Cecille looked at the man quizzically but he did not answer. She stepped out of the car and looked at the others who seemed to be standing in an awkward silence. Taking off her sunglasses she smiled and said aloud: ?Is anyone here from the Southwest US??
Engel
Sean sat in his one bedroom, spacious apartment. He sighed and curled up on his couch for a moment, reading a printed out copy of the e-mail over and over again. Moving his deep teal-coloured eyes up to the clock, he saw that it was nearly time to be going. Standing, Sean approached the mirror and pulled a comb out of the desk to comb his hair straight back, leaving a few strands to fall forward for personality. He smiled and looked at the blue tattoes around his eyes. There was something about being different that enthralled Sean to no end. Moving quickly and with purpose, Sean tapped his fingers against his side while humming a song, picking up whatever he needed. Carelessly putting things into his suitcase, he grinned as he moved about. This was what he'd been living for. This was his calling. Sean came back to his suitcase and looked at it with a melodramatic sigh, before taking everything out and fixing it. Days of playing tetris came back to his mind, enough to make Sean make soft little "beep beep beep" noises. For being so intelligent and artistic, Sean was allowed to be a dork at times. Smiling, Sean made his way to his computer, sitting down at it and opening up iTunes. Connecting his black iPod video to the computer, he downloaded several new songs onto it, and a few videos. He yawned and sat back in the chair, allowing himself a moment of relaxation as he tapped his right foot along to the song. He couldn't get through a flight without music. It wasn't long before Sean sat next to a businessman wearing a stuffy suit and working on his laptop on a Bowing 747. He tapped his foot along to the beat of the song, the businessman becoming increasingly more annoyed with every tap. Needless to say, the business man made a deal out of it by rudely coughing and making otherwise interrupting sounds, but Sean didn't care. He tapped his foot up and down and even took a pencil out of his pocket and began to play the drum beat, much to the disdain of his companion next to him, the distraught businessman. --- The car rolled up to the mansion, grand and lavish before Sean's deep eyes. He looked down at his clothes, the black South Pole pants hanging against his legs and the white button up cotton shirt clinging to his chest through the force of gravity and static eletricity. He smiled as the driver opened the door, letting him out to stretch his legs. He stood up fully, and breathed in the clean air, enjoying the crisp taste. Several people were already here. Sean looked over the head of the driver at everyone and picked out a place to stand and wait. Grabbing his luggage, he made his way up to stand next to a woman gazing up into the sky and stood next to her. He smiled and turned to her, offering a hand. "Name's Sean."
Imp
Many thoughts ran through Wendy's mind that early morning before, a morning when she was driving along the road that led to the airport. Most of those thoughts related to the "quest" she had accepted, one that involved this mansion off the coast of Australia that she was about to stay in for a while. Others were about the long trip to the mansion, and the rest were about how her parents would react to her sudden absence. Wendy had stayed up late that night, and left the house at around 1 AM the following morning. Her parents were asleep by then. And in fact one of the reasons why Wendy left at that time was so that her parents would not wonder where she was going. She never liked making up lies about that sort of thing. Going with that, Wendy had done all her packing and preparing surreptitiously as well. Another reason why Wendy was out this early in the morning was in order to make her flight to Australia, which was scheduled to leave at 6 AM. The flight was meant to last around twelve hours nonstop, and then an extra ten hours had to be added for timezones. This would mean an arrival in Australia at about 4 AM the next morning. Wendy felt a little discouraged at these times; 4 AM was a strange time to arrive at the mansion. And plus, the airline tickets she had received for the trip were for a flight from London, which was about a four-hour drive away from where she lived. I suppose the closer airports don't offer long-distance flights, or require a transfer, Wendy figured. Yet fortunately, Wendy had taken a nap earlier, so she wasn't too tired that very early morning. And there was always the music playing in her car to keep her more awake--even if the song playing happened to be a lullaby. Even the weather didn't bring her down--it was a clear, starry night, and Wendy had a clear view of the Big Dipper constellation on her left. This was her favourite constellation to look at, as she believed the star in the centre of it contained a planet with life on it, one whose life she found very interesting. Anyways, as Wendy drove along, she occasionally sang along with the song that was playing in her car, or thought about the results of a tarot reading she did for her experience in the mansion. She often did such self-readings for important situations, or on magically significant days such as Halloween. In this case, the former applied. Right now, Wendy thought of one thing that came up in the reading that made sense so far: a card that indicated relaxation and ease. Yes, both of those would explain the drive here. By the time Wendy arrived at the airport in London, she was so tired that she stumbled occasionally as she walked. And in fact, all she did on the flight itself was sleep--she didn't have the energy to do anything else. She hardly even noticed that she was seated in the first-class section all the way. But it was good anyways--first-class seats meant more comfortable conditions, which yielded a more relaxing sleep. As expected, the flight arrived in Australia at 4 AM the next morning. After setting her watch to the correct time, Wendy left the airport, feeling quite refreshed after a good twelve hours' sleep. She took a few moments to admire the scenery around her, but she knew she was expecting another ride to the coast. So it was then that she walked up to the black limousine that would take her there. This is the second time I've ridden in one of these, Wendy remembered. The first time was this prize I won in eighth grade, and that ride was only to a restaurant and back, and with five other people. Now all I have is... me and the driver. On the way to the coast, Wendy just sat on the wide leather seat inside and thought about her upcoming experience in the mansion. So the letter said that I would win the estate if I could survive for six months in there, Wendy recalled. Gee, this reminds me of some sort of haunted house. It's as if I'm being presented a challenge: if I can withstand whatever lies in that estate, it becomes my permanent residence. What lies in there... Unfriendly ghosts? Vampires? Murderous servants? Or some fault of the mansion itself? Or, hmmm... Wendy thought about the letter she had received, especially the part that read "You must obey your card... You must obey whatever I say... You must sacrifice something of equal value in order for you to refuse the laws above..." That part of the letter looks like it was written in blood, Wendy figured. She knew what a message written in blood looked like, having written one such message a couple of years ago. Perhaps it was this memory that explained why Wendy was now staring at the tip of her left index finger. Perhaps there's something about this 'card' he mentions, and about obeying whatever he says. And of course about sacrificing something. It was that sacrifice clause that caused me not to bring most of my valuables... most notably Psybird and Mercury and Reinora. Wendy had a tendency to give names to things, such as naming her MP3 player "Psybird", her cell phone "Mercury", her laptop "Reinora", and her car "Psy Star". What tasks will I need to perform in that mysterious place? What is that card? Will I die or something if I don't obey what he says... Well, if death is a consequence, I suppose this is meant to be a test of my character or something. It's strange. I feel like I was spirited away into this game, as if my destiny called for it. Right now I doubt I'm going to "win" this game, but what happens to the losers? A message written in blood often indicates the harshest of ultimatums, so I might imagine the consequence is rather severe. Yet severe as it is, I hope the losers die, or else get harmlessly transported away from the estate. I have the sneaking suspicion that the latter won't happen though. Yet the good thing is that if I lose, death comes upon me more quickly, so that I don't have to deal with whatever complicated life I live here. Of course, this is assuming death is the consequence... assuming, and sincerely hoping... These thoughts mingled with thoughts about the afterlife Wendy had thought she would live after her death--a life on the planet that orbited a star in the direction of the centre of the Big Dipper, the same location she was looking toward the night before. She thought about that planet in general, and the people and places on it. She also thought about her experiences in her life, and her fantacies about what kind of live she could have lived if it wasn't for this invitation. Yet every time she thought about these fantacies, she dismissed them as untrue or very unlikely to happen. Her future was largely uncertain at this point, and her past seemed largely irrelevant. She was left to wander through a trance, all of her awareness on the present and the qualities of herself. It was these thoughts and daydreams that kept Wendy occupied all throughout the three-hour-long land trip and hour-long sea trip, with the exception of watching the sun rise. Finally, at around eight o'clock, Wendy was walking away from the dock extending from the island on which the estate was situated. There were already nine people standing outside the building's entrance. Wendy took a quick look around at these people but was neither intimidated nor impressed by them. In fact, she just sat on a rock near the pathway leading to the entrance, a rock that was quite a distance away from the other people. She really didn't feel like conversing with these people at this stage.
Redemption
? Name?s Sean.? Ally looked down from the sky and over at the man who now stood beside her, his hand out in a greeting manner. Her eyes scanned him for only a moment, taking most of his appearance in that second. He was ruggedly handsome ? a sharp jaw line and cheekbones and sharp, keen, deep teal eyes. His hair was spiked, a little long and near the same colour of his eyes, only a shade more blue. Ally could tell almost instantly from his smooth masculine voice that he was from Germany. She smiled on the inside. Everything about this man was sharp ? from his language to his appearance. It was rather bizarre. ? I am Ally Fournes,? Ally replied in her smooth but distinctive French accent. Sean looked a little surprised at the voice that came from the short, blonde haired woman. It was stronger than he expected, but still had a hint of delicacy hidden in the tone. As they started to converse with one another, Ally noticed a few others arrive at the doorstep of the luxurious, sandstone mansion. The building was indeed distinctively Australian - Ally noted that it must have been built by some of the first settlers. It would cost millions upon millions of dollars to construct a mansion like this today, but then, it would also be impossible because of some of the masonry skills lost to time. Ally also noticed the stare she was receiving from one of the other males from the group. He was very muscular; the French woman noted the ripples of muscles upon his upper arms. It looked like he was a fighter of some sort, a boxer even. His spiky, medium sandy brown hair glistened in the sunlight as he made his way over to Sean and Ally, his bright hazel eyes glinting wittingly. ? I?m Ben Moraes, and you two are?? Ally could hear some sort of South American accent in his voice, but because his English was very good, she couldn?t tell which it was. ? I?m Sean Enttausch,? the German man said, taking a step forward and shaking hands with the South American. Ben gave an acknowledged nod before turning to Ally with a mischievous glint in his eyes. ? And who may you be?? Ally raised her eyebrow at the man?s voice. It seemed he was far more interested in her than Sean. She started chewing her lip in a nervous fashion before holding out her hand in a shake gesture. ? I am Ally Fournes,? the French woman said, still holding out her hand. To her surprise, Ben took her hand delicately and kissed the top of it. Her eyes widened, showing her shock at this gesture. ? So?. a French mademoiselle? with golden hair and flawless looks? I?m surprised I haven?t seen you in any modelling magazines,? Ben commented, his voice smooth and flattering. Ally looked at him with strange look before Sean stepped in, changing the topic. ? So, Ben, which part of the world do you come from??
TheResplendent
"I am from Brazil, born and raised! Though I have travelled many many places. I have also seen many beautiful women, but none I'm afraid as captivating as you, Ally was it?" Ben said, answering Sean's question but turning his attention to Ally once again. Sean seemed a bit annoyed, but only subtly at Ben's advanced linguistics as far as charming went. Ally blushed a little bit, mostly from being so surprised that someone would go so out of his way to compliment her in such detail. His eyes certainly captivated her attention along with his words in return for his enamored state, a state mainly caused by her own eye color and the curves of her body. "Why...t, thank you. Though i'm sure your exaggerating." Ally replied, placing her left hand over her right. Sean looked as if he was about to speak, but Ben turned to him promptly and addressed him instead. "Sean, correct?" Ben asked, feigning forgetfullness. "Yes." Sean said sternly. "You seem like a very well put together man, tell me what is it you do?" Ben asked, as he placed his sunglasses on his head. "Well, actually I'm the head of Blizzard North's development team. Let's just say I know my way around a storyboard." Sean replied confidently. "Ah, very good Sean. Then you and I are masters of our trade, for I know my way quite well around a martial arts ring." Ben replied, making subtle striking motions with his fists. He beamed a bright smile throughout the entire exchange of words, as well as taking occaisonal glances back and forth at Ally. 'Hm, so he IS a fighter. That's not surprising.' Ally thought to herself, recalling her initial impression of Ben. "...and you, meu querido?" Ben said, aiming his glance in full force at Ally. She didn't quite understand what he had said at the end of his sentence, but figured out for herself it was some type of endearment. "Well, I'm an engineer for the french military. Currently seated behind a desk, but that doesn't really bother me." she answered. Ben took his time scanning her body up and down. Her answer didn't surprise him too much, as her body was definitly toned like someone who has had some form of defense training. "Is that so? Then you must have some moves of your own. It piques my curiosity as to what kind of training they offer in the military. Perhaps at a later time, you could show me a demonstration." Ben said, with a slight grin on his face. "So! What do you guys think about this whole ordeal? Any idea what we should expect?" Sean added in, changing the subject once again. "That's a good question, I was wondering myself! But then again, everyone of us probably has been too." another voice from behind the three of them said, before either Ben or Ally could answer. They turned their attention to see a young blond haired women in her early twenties holding her sunglasses between her fingers, standing not so far from them probably allowing her to eavesdrop a little. Nucifer
Allen got his luggage out from the limo. He walked up in front of the mansion seen it up close. It was much bigger than expected. Maybe he was exaggerating living in a small town never seen such a lavish and luxurious home. Even so it was a nice mansion from anyone?s standards. He looked around and saw many others around him. There was more than one person who got the letter? It seemed everyone was caught in conversation. Allen couldn?t talk, no wouldn?t talk. If he let any information slip from his mouth right now all will shun him. He was tired from the ride and wasn?t able to twist the truth. He was able to keep his smile even when tired yet he slouched looking at the floor. He sighed troubled from his situation. How he was upset how he sunk so low to seek for someone?s help just to look for Terry. He knew that if he opened his mouth to talk in such a vulnerable state of mind his first words will be ?Hi my name is Allen, I live in Texas and I?m desperately looking for my boy love Terry! Will you all help me find him??. He heaved his parents warning about speaking in public. Don?t stand evil, don?t walk evil, don?t speak evil, don?t act evil they told him. ?I?m not evil?.? Axel murmured standing up straight. First thing on the list don?t stand evil.
Horendithas
Sena didn?t have to wait long for the ferry, in fact it seemed as if they were impatient to get going. In no time at all they were first taken to the island and then once again limos were waiting to take them to the actual mansion, a huge massive complex with a rather simple yet large fountain in its center at the entrance where the limo pulled up to let him out. A number of the other guests were already chatting with one another and once he had his things the servant reminded him to wait out side for when the master would let them in. Sena merely raised an eyebrow at this statement. Took his things and instead of joining the conversation he walked out to where a young girl was sitting on a rock near the pathway leading to the entrance. Normally he would rather chat with the others but the change in climate along with the elevation had him feeling almost like something was smothering him. He was too use to the thinner desert air and though it was pleasant the heavy sea air was stifling. He had slept on the plane but not only was he still a little tired but now he was beginning to think it had been a mistake to have something to drink as he felt a little light headed as well. The slender young girl with curly, shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes watched him warily as he approached her. Sena smiled disarmingly as he took a seat on another rock close to her and yet not so close as to intrude. ?I hope you don?t mind miss but I find I am in need of a spot to relax after the long trip, and the spot you have chosen here is far enough from the mansion that one can relax a little and yet not so far that you will miss out on when we will be allowed in.? He paused to watch her reaction but she did not respond. ?I?m sorry, where are my manners? My name is Sena Walker. And if you really wish to be alone simply say so and I will find another spot.? He finished with a smile. The young woman finally returned his smile with a small one of her own, ?My name is Wendy Fayworth, and you can certainly stay if you wish, I do not mind if you want to rest here.? She looked away from Sena and back towards the mansion where the others were mingling. ?Thank you Wendy. As much as I enjoy meeting others I did not feel like talking to the rest of the group after such a long and tiring trip.? She turned back look at him and smiled again. ?Believe me, I understand what you mean.? Sena smiled once again and then propped up his small luggage case on the rock behind him and leaned back into it before closing his eyes to calm the dizzy and lightheadedness he was feeling. Somehow he got the feeling that she really didn?t mind that he wasn?t up to conversing with her.
Johnny Justjohnny
The mansion was, Ry felt, one of the more unique things that any architect had ever produced. A seemingly-random mish-mash of distinctly different styles and time periods ? ranging from the Classical era, to Baroque and Victorian - with the occasional gargoyle or statue added here-or-there for flavour, it was all quite luxurious. But something about it didn?t seem right. The iron-barb-topped stone wall that surrounded the whole expanse certainly didn?t do anything to quell this feeling, nor did the sinister-looking black-iron-bar gate that lead into the grounds. Still, Ry couldn?t help but respect the beauty of the complex?s centerpiece ? the fountain. It was like a multi-layered cake with statues and gargoyles stuck in wherever they could be stuck in, each spouting water from their various orifices; it was wonderful. Ry thought it would be a great place to play the flute. Maybe Ry was just going crazy ? he hadn?t taken his pills in a while, so maybe it was just the darkness creeping back into him. Afterall, he figured, a man on the internet, named Dante, and plugging himself as the Master of Games was sure to be trustworthy, right? Ry smiled at that and brought his flute up to his puckered lips. He paused for a second, thinking about what to play, and eventually settled on a soft melody he had heard once, a long time ago, something his old mentor had taught him. At first, no one seemed to notice the song he played, as they were all caught up in their own conversations ? such things as people talk about in these situations, mostly concerning their own pasts and the weather and suchlike ? and therefore didn?t notice the older man propped up against the flat stone. But Ry didn?t really care, he just wanted to feel the music around him, it was one of the few times that he actually felt sane. ?Hey old man, where you pick up that tune? You?re pretty good.? It seemed that Ry had attracted an audience afterall ? a slight Latino kid, maybe in his late teens at the oldest. Ry stopped playing and smiled at the kid. ?I ain?t that old, kid. Is 33 old nowadays?? He laughed and held out his free hand, which the kid shook after a second or two of consideration. ?Name?s Ry, and you?ll do well to call me it. You are? Sorry for prying, kiddo, but I always like to get to know my audience.? ?Kuro.? He spoke in an accented English that Ry couldn?t quite place ? it was distinctly South American, but Ry couldn?t quite pin it down. ?So, as I was saying, where you pick that song up? It?s? nice.? ?This little thing? Something I picked up busking, an old friend of mine taught it to me ? it?s not really important. Say, you play an instrument, kid?? Ry had a habit of that, calling younger people ?kid? or ?kiddo? or some other outdated colloquialism, but it was part of the crazy-old-man mystique he had take on. ?No? I never really had the chance to learn, really.? Kuro sat down on another of the strange flat-surfaced rocks that seemed to dot the islands? surface, and stretched his cramped legs as he looked for a comfortable position. ?Ah, it?s not that hard, kid ? just purse your lips and blow, see?? Ry laughed a bit at this, and proceeded to demonstrate, playing a simple tune, and being deliberately slow so Kuro could see exactly what he was doing. Ry felt he was really going to like the kid.
Ozymandius Jones
She was going to be late. How does this always happen to me? She was always late, everywhere. Always. Jennie pelted down the hallway of the office where she worked, muttering under her breath. At least I don't have to pack, 'ey? She was just stunned that she managed to be late when there was nothing to do to get ready: nothing much to pack, other than her backpack full of books; no one to say goodbye to, even if that had been allowed. This is just crazy why did I say yes? Her breathing was ragged in her throat as she ran down the sidewalk, heading for her apartment and the dusty backpack right inside the door. There were a hundred million apologies running through her head. Maybe they'll have left... She finally turned the corner to her street, only to see - no car. She breathed a quick sigh of relief, charging up the stairs in two leaps and fumbling to unlock the door and scoop up the bag, insane relief coursing through her veins - though she couldn't tell whether it should be considered relief that the car hadn't been there yet - or that, perhaps, it had already left. Someone tapped her shoulder and she started, spinning around and jumping back, eyes wide. "Miss Grant?" It was a tall man in an expensive suit. He smiled at her, politely. Her heart slowed down as she nodded. "That's me..." The man waved out the open front door. There was a limo parked at the curb, idling. "We're your ride." "...Oh. Right." --- The ride didn't take as long as she'd thought it would. She was only relieved she started in Austrailia - being on a plane with this strange anticipating fear would have been a nightmare. She slept most of the way there, in between bouts of "staring out the window" and "staring at the driver's head". Her few half-hearted attempts at conversation had been met with silence. She hadn't tried again. The ferry ride was much of the same: polite silence. It was a relief to be off the boat, out of cars, away from any vehicle...but she stared at the people gathering near to the entrance, and bit her lip. This was why she hated being late. "Um. Hello."
Nucifer
?Um. Hello? Allen looked behind him hearing the awkward hello. It came from a curly blond haired girl. Maybe he was mistaking for calling her a girl she was at least on her early twenties. So there were more people? Like the number of people now wasn?t enough. Allen smiled at her gently and she gave a small grin. Allen already exchanged smiles the least he could do is say ?hello?. He guessed the ?staying quite? plan has been crushed. ?Hello my name is Allen? Allen said raises his hand for a handshake. ?Allen Lazior? ??My name?s Jennie Grant? Jennie softly took his hand and shook. ?You look pretty??? Allen complicated and gave a huge smile. Jennie quickly pulled her hand away ?Sorry did I saw something wrong?? Allen looked confused ??You really can?t say that to someone when you first meet.? Jennie slightly blushed ?Sorry bad habit? Allen scratched his head ?Just very fond of curly blond haired girls.? Allen laughed then looked at the expression on Jennie?s face. He guessed his words where making her uncomfortable. Did he let too much slip from his mouth? Maybe he said something about Terry or was Jennie just insecure? Allen tried fast to make amends before making enemies. ?I?m from Sutton, Texas. What about you?? ?I?m from?.Australia? ?Really?? Koala?s always made me laugh?? Allen said trying to create small talk. He didn?t want to scare her off. Maybe talking about her home country will smooth things out. He didn?t mean any disrespect or any harm to Jennie. He had no ones else to talk too?
Kairi
"Koala's huh?" the young man seemed to appear out of nowhere as his comment could be heard from behind Allen's shoulder. Allen froze for a moment, and slowly turned his attention towards the man before before him. The Master of Games was leaning on his cane, slightly leaning to his left. Besides the cane he looked surprisingly strong and firm for a cripple. Behind his waving silver hair in the wind Dante's warm looking emerald eyes met with Allen's who immidiately felt weak at the knees. To his surprise, the Master of Games leaned closer to Allen, almost touching his lips to his right ear. "I know something else you're quite fond of...much much more than any Koala." The statement shook Allen to the bone as Dante stiffened himself into a firm posture yet again and addressed everyone. "Welcome everyone!" the annoucement now startled everyone else and not only Allen...surely they would've noticed a man with a cane amongst them. "I'm sorry to have startled you. You all seemed to be preoccupied with getting to know one another, and I couldn't help myself but walk amongst you unknowingly and endulge in what you all were talking about." He loved this part of the game...the anticipation. The feeling was spreading as the thought of the rewards flooded their minds; all were looking at him, waiting like helpless dogs for further instructions...each with their own intentions. "I welcome you all now to enter my home. Please, pick up your belongings and make your way inside. Just follow the driveway all the way up to the grand hall entrance. The doors will be open to you, as my servants will attend to your every need. Everyone has a roommate which they will be staying with for this ordeal due to so many of you accepting my invitation." ...there were more than just us? questioned Mariko to herself, the small little girl as she tried to get a glimpse of the master through the crowd that now surrounded him. "Don't worry each room is quite large for each of your individual needs, I hope you find all to be satisfactory. I will meet you all promptly at 6pm for dinner. It is now 4:40pm so please endulge yourselves for the time being and tour the mansion to your hearts content. Your roommate assignments will be placed on the doorway as you enter the mansion. Also, your first cards are already placed on your beds." There was a long pause, and the group instinctively began to turn away from Dante and head up the driveway. "However!" everyone stopped and turned back to him. "You may not open and read your card yet...that will be done at dinner time; where all the rules of the game will be explained." Before anyone could question him or say anything, the master was already heading to the Ferry back to mainland... *** Let the games begin. As I've said you all will be receiving your first cards after this post is up. However I've instructed that the cards wont be opened until dinner, so don't make mentions or hints of what your card contains until dinner. Your post during dinner you will be allowed to write your card in your post as you read it. I'll be initiating the dinner post to bring you all together for the event. Each room is designed to exactly what your ideal living environment is in conjunction with your roommates dream room. Make the mansion out to be whatever you want it to be, what it includes and basic layout. *giggle*...this is going to be so much fun. For me of course, your characters im not sure about :-p. Horendithas
?Welcome everyone!? The sudden announcement jerked Sena out of the doze he had settled into. With a start he tried to scramble to his feet only to lose his balance and land painfully on his left side. But as he heard the voice of the one who had invited him he quickly got to his feet as a rush of anticipation brought him fully awake, he turned to see who had spoken. He was a bit surprised at his appearance with his cane and long silver hair that was being teased by the wind. For some reason he had been expecting someone younger. Though now that he thought about it that didn?t make any sense. Sena listened patiently to the instructions only to be surprised yet again by being assigned a roommate. When he had finished, Sena picked up his things and started heading up the path to the driveway where everyone else was. He paused briefly as the host gave them yet another instruction and then he continued, not bothering to try and catch the others who were ahead of him. Though he was aware of the sound of Wendy?s footsteps as she too was heading towards the mansion. What grabbed his attention the most was how massive the mansion truly was. If they were sharing rooms they were probably big enough to fit a small house into. He entered the home through the massive twin doors the others had already entered, leading to a grand golden hallway with rich red carpet stretched along its length. As much as he wanted to take a look he chose instead to follow the others who were heading up the stairs to what appeared to be the East wing of the home. A nervous chatter that he couldn?t quite make out as most of them were already at the top of the stairs filled the hallway. Sena turned to Wendy who had hesitated at the door and smiled. ?Shall we?? He indicated the stairs. She simply nodded and walked over and started up. Sena followed amazed that the staircase seemed to be made of pure marble with flecks of what appeared to be real gold in the stone. Such a place must have cost an absolute fortune to build. At the top of the stairs was a long hallway also with rich red carpet and what appeared to be a series of twin doors, spaced quite far from each other, confirming his guess that the rooms in question had to be massive as well. Further down the hallway a few of the other guests were still walking, something that Sena took to mean they had not found the room they were staying in yet and when he arrived at the first set of doors that was already partially opened he saw that they had gold plaques with people?s names engraved on them. The first one had three names, something that brought a nervous smile from Wendy as she turned and spoke to Sena. ?I guess this is my stop. See you later.? She smiled again and then entered the room. Sena took a deep breath to steady himself, the idea of being with two other people didn?t really appeal to him. Not that he minded roommates, but he really hoped they weren?t in the same room in the manner that some roommates were. And fortunately when he found the door with his name along with that of someone called Allen Laizor clearly etched into the plaque he was not with two other people, only one. The door was already slightly open and he entered it to find that it was more of a set of rooms than just a shared main room. The first one was a spacious lounge filled with antique furniture in dark cherry wood and rich tapestry with floral patterns done in various shades of red. To each side was an open archway with drapes that could be pulled closed, a smaller plaque with names etched on them as well, to the left was the name Allen Laizor, the drapes partially open and another equally impressive bedroom with a huge king sized bed and equally as rich furniture like in the main area. Movement caught his eye as he caught the back of someone walking around the bed, a flash of brown hair and then he couldn?t see them. Sena turned to the right to see a set of red drapes drawn across another archway, his own name on a plaque on the wall. He went to open it to find furnishing similar to what he had caught a glimpse of on the other side of the main room. But what caught his eye the most was a envelope lying in the center of the bed, his name clearly spelled out in what appeared to be blood. He set his things down and reached over to pick it up. It was obviously a type of heavy parchment and he turned it to see that it had been sealed with wax, the impression a design he had never seen before. He was tempted to open it but he simply slipped it into his pocket instead. He had come this far it would be foolish to risk being disqualified over such a simple matter. He finished looking at his huge bedroom, from the huge standing furniture that took place of a closet to the open door leading to a huge bathroom with a marble bath big enough for four people. Again in the same marble with flecks of gold running through it, Sena took a moment in the bathroom to clean up and then he headed back out to the main room. This time he noticed that in addition to the comfy sofas and chairs there was also an entertainment center and a fully stocked bar, and drapes that once he opened them lead to a huge balcony overlooking the ocean. He opened the twin French doors and stepped out. Beautiful wrought iron tables and chairs were placed in the center and giant marble planters filled with various flowers were on each side of the doors as he walked out. He turned around at the sound of footsteps to see a young man standing there; he looked to Sena as if he was the same age as he was. He seemed a little uncertain so Sena took the first step and moved to greet him. ?You must be Allen,? He extended his hand to shake his. ?I?m Sena Walker, pleased to meet you.?
Neko
OOC - Sorry it looks sloppy, I'll pretty it up later tonight. EDIT - A'ight, it's good to go. :catgirl: The mansion was truly something out of a fairy-tale book, as far as Mariko was concerned. As she followed the rest of the group ? which had become considerably larger than she had anticipated ? through the ornate front doors, she felt a sensation that she thought surely must be akin to stepping into a completely different world. Never before had she gotten such an impression of just how massive the world could be. Back in Tokyo, even though it was a huge place, it was so crowded that it felt like a small box. This?this was amazing. The man who had approached them back by the ferry, Mariko presumed could only have been none other than Dante Lui?ci himself. The aged man had never actually mentioned his name, but something about his presence had commanded a sense of power, a sense of respect. It was the sort of feeling that could only come from someone who commanded unfathomable, absolute authority. It could only come from someone like the Host himself. He must be really kind, to come all the way out and greet us personally, Mariko thought to herself as she trailed behind the others. A few people left the group, as the other contestants began to find their rooms. Mariko skipped down the hallway a bit to catch up to the rest. In such a huge mansion, she would almost certainly get lost on her own. A few more people branched off from the group as everyone turned a corner. This hallway was totally different from the last one; all hung with ornate paintings, portraits of powerful-looking men and women from ages past, their faces staring out at the group from gleaming gold frames as they passed by. The red felt carpet stretched on for a little while down this hallway, ending with another hallway that disappeared off to the left and right. Still, Mariko was disappointed, and maybe a little scared, too. She hadn?t expected there to be more than maybe two or three people coming here, her included. And, there was nobody close to her age, so even though several contestants were here, she was still all alone. Lost in thought, Mariko somehow managed to fall far behind the rest of the group. ?Oh, no,? she mumbled to herself, realizing how far behind she was. She broke into a fast walk to catch up, turned down the left hallway, and was mildly surprised to bump right into someone?s back, bounced off, and landed on her back. ?A-ah?.go-gomenasai?? she stammered as she picked herself up off the floor. She looked up at one of the contestants, a pretty built-looking man, as he glanced over his shoulder to see what had bumped into him. ?Oh, uh, hey there,? the man replied, helping her back up. ?Oh, hey, you?re that girl from the ferry, right? The one that was just hiding in the corner the whole time?? ?O-oh, um?yes, that was me?? Mariko mumbled. She was completely embarrassing herself, and the man seemed to notice. He gave a polite nod and turned back around. ?Well, hey, good luck, huh?? ?Oh, um, yes?g-good luck to you, too?? Mariko mumbled. She found her room a little ways down the hall, and found the door already open. There was a girl already in the room, a somewhat?fashion-conscious-looking blonde girl. The girl looked up from the large four-poster bed she was sitting on and waved. ?Oh, hi there!? she greeted enthusiastically. Mariko stepped through the door into the room and walked past the girl. ?Hullo,? she replied absentmindedly. She stopped at the slightly smaller bed at the end of the room, where an envelope with her name on it was resting. She sighed, picking up the card and walking gloomily into the far corner of the room, sat down, and began to tear open the envelope. Just before she made a tear big enough to get out the paper inside, she remembered that she was supposed to wait until later. She sighed again, realizing that she?d just done something wrong again, and put the envelope down.
Nucifer
Allen gulped trying not to show fear. The man whispered something in his ear that made his stomach turn. Something more appealing to him than Koala bears? Allen blushed at the very thought of it. He touched his ear feeling nuisance. Only five seconds of knowing this man and Allen already feared him. It seemed that he picked on Allen, or maybe just a coincidence that he did. He had a fearful respectful aura around him. Allen couldn?t help but feel that he was in presence of his father. Even so he had butterflies in his stomach and his face crimson. This wasn?t a good start. As the man finished talking Allen try to regain composure. Be calm and collect your thoughts, this man can?t know anything about Terry he told himself. Allen grabbed his luggage watching the others go in. He stared at the entrance of the mansion, it seemed as though a red carpet was laid out for them. For guest why were they treated like celebrities? He stepped in and looked around him. This was much different from the small town in Sutton. Just the entrance was lined with gold. Polished marble, ivory and other precious rocks and gems made up the house. Long stretched red carpet in a grand luxurious hallway was set. He watched as the others moved along toward it. The small town boy inside him wanted to stand around in awe but ?thy can not covet thy neighbor?. Yet isn?t the reason he was here? He already sinned once; add another one to the list. He walked through the hallway with the other people living in this mansion. For a brief moment he spotted the blonde women he saw earlier. He didn?t dare bother her and kept walking. He probably made enough damage to the poor women. He spotted a door with a golden plated plaque with his name. His room mate name was just inscribed a top of his. ?Sena Walker? Allen slowly read he guessed he was room mate with a man. Allen having a feeling he had to be extra cautious about his secret now. Allen opened the door slowly closing it behind him. The main center of the room was luxurious as it was red. The room was filled with expensive antique furniture. Furniture antique was polished and in great condition. Allen had no fear of sitting on the red floral pattern couch and breaking it. He looked to his right and red draped with another golden plaque said ?Sena Walker? on the wall. The drapes were closed, was he the first the first one to arrive in the room? He looked at his left and saw a plaque reading his name. He smiled pulling the drapes open. A king sized bed red with white floral pattern. He touched the covers, pure silk. The covers were like the bed size, fit for a king. He looked and saw three porcelain dolls hanging from the far corner shelf. Allen couldn?t help but show a true smile as he walked and grabbed one of the dolls. The doll was perfectly carved a painted. No eye, eyebrow or facial features imperfect or unaligned. The clothes were perfectly seamed each doll wearing high quality cloth. The clothes design was the finest Gothic Lolita style. Allen put the doll back on the shelf. If it wasn?t for his father he would be making the same kind of dolls. This was his dream room. He didn?t care for the rest of the components of the room. Seen does porcelain dolls sitting on the shelf made him feel at home and?made him think of Terry. He shook his head and looked at his bed. An envelope was resting every so gently on the pillow. He went and picked it up. His named was inscribed in it, the same letters of the e-mail sent to him. He put it in his pocket keeping temptation from reading before dinner. He circled around his bed touching the silk floral pattern. He couldn?t wait to sleep in these sheets. As he walked past his bedroom drapes he spot a glimpse of a man. Sena Walker has arrived. He could meet him now or wait ?till dinner. Yet he hasn?t talked to another male in a while as he had been kept concealed from the outside world for a long while. He couldn?t let the ?evil? inside him speak it could easily slip with another male in the room. He probably already spotted Allen, he had no choice but to say ?hello?. He walked outside his bedroom and looked around. He couldn?t see him in the lounge anymore, he couldn?t have disappeared. He saw opened drapes and a gently breeze coming from them. He walked closer seen opened twin French door. A balcony was just outside this door and a man back turned to Allen on it. The man turned around probably hearing Allen?s footstep. Time to fake a smile. ?You must be Allen? He extended his hand to shake his. Allen looked down and stared at his hand, should he shake? ?I?m Sena Walker, pleased to meet you.? He had to speak and shake, too suspicious. Allen grabbed his hand and gave it a firm hand shake. ?Yes, I?m Allen Laizor. The honor is all mine? Both men let go. Allen couldn?t give an acquired silence. He had to have something to do as he waited for dinner. Talking to his room mate might kill the time. Talk slowly, carefully and chose your words wisely can?t let anything slip he thought. He had no real way to avoid ?not talking?. ?So Sena Walker, what part of the world might you come from?? Allen asked. ?Salt Lake City, Utah. May I ask you?? Sena replied ? Sutton, Texas?.ha, we are far away from each other. At least we are?.were in the same country?? Allen smiled sweetly. Nothing is harder to do but breaking ice.
Imp
When Wendy entered her room, she noticed a girl already there, sitting on one of the beds. Hmm, she doesn't look like a Mariko, so she must be Cecille, Wendy figured. She knew Mariko was a Japanese name, and the girl certainly did not look Japanese. She had blond hair that was tied in fancy-looking pigtails, sky-blue eyes, and wore a frilly red and white dress. Anyways, this girl was clearly not as shy as Wendy was--for she spoke right up. "Hello!" the girl greeted. "Why hello," Wendy replied back, but in a little less bubbly tone than the other girl. "I'm guessing you're Cecille?" "How'd you know," Cecille asked rhetorically. "And are you Mariko or Wendy?" "Wendy, of course... I don't know where..." Before Wendy could finish her sentence, another girl walked into the room, but she appeared to be a lot younger than both of them. Her hair was longer and looked bluish, her ears were kind of pointy in almost an elf-like way, and she wore a black dress that was simpler than Cecille's. Anyways, when this girl entered, Cecille was again the first to speak. "Oh, hi there!" she greeted. "Hullo," the younger girl replied as she walked over to her bed. She didn't even see Wendy. I guess that must be Mariko, Wendy thought. When Mariko reached her bed, she picked up an envelope lying on it, then sat down near it and began to tear the envelope open. But she didn't make too long a tear before she remembered she wasn't supposed to open it yet, and set the envelope down where she found it. "I can't blame you for being excited," Wendy commented--at that point she was leaning against the wall opposite the three beds. Mariko jumped at what Wendy said. "Oh, I didn't even know you were there!" she exclaimed. "You nearly scared me!" Wendy giggled at this remark. "I don't know. Many people think I'm rather scary, but... Anyways, you must be Mariko. Soo desu ka?" "Erm... you're from Japan too?" Mariko was caught a little off-guard by what Wendy said. "No... I took a Japanese language class in college just recently. I do plan on traveling to Japan at some point in my life, maybe even living there. But anyways..." Wendy felt largely embarrassed by what she had just said. This feeling was frequent--she had a tendency to reveal personal information to near-strangers. At least I believe in expression, Wendy thought. Wendy walked over to her bed and sat down on it. Then she pulled back her left sleeve to look at a small purple watch wrapped around her forearm. The time was 4:55. "So that means we have an hour till dinnertime, when we get to open these envelopes," Wendy said to the air. As she did, she glanced to the side where she saw an envelope lying on her bed, which had her full name on the front--including middle name. Wendy spent the next few minutes sifting through the contents of her bag. The bag itself was velvety in texture, and looked barely large enough to hold a piece of typing paper without it being folded. It was dark purple and dark blue in colour, with a design of a moon and a starry night on the front. Anyways, the first thing Wendy's hand touched in the bag was a smaller bag--one that felt silky and had a small tassle on its zipper. Wendy smiled when she touched this--for it was her "gris gris bag", containing nothing but magical items. The next thing she felt was a notepad, then a pen, then what felt like a large, thick deck of cards, then a couple of small books, then a rather large box. The box was the first thing Wendy pulled out of the bag; this she put on a small table next to her bed. Then she took out the card bag and one of the books--and immediately hid them under her skirt. Then she hid them in her arms as she slid them under her bed, quickly yet gently. Wendy then reached into her bag to take out the other book, which had a red velvet cover and a red ribbon that acted as a bookmark attached. This she placed under the box she had put on the table. Then she reached into her bag and took out a third book, a rather large hardcover one. This she placed under her bed as well, but not as surreptitiously as before. Finally, she picked up her bag again, happy that it was relieved of most of its weight. Wendy sat down on her bed again, looking to her right at Cecille and to her left at Mariko. Then she looked down at her lap. All she did afterwards was take off her boots, revealing a pair of socks with blue, purple, and gray stripes and that seemed to go all the way up past her knees. "Hei chu tea nou?" Wendy muttered to herself, in an almost inaudible voice. She seemed bored, but her legs were hanging over the edge of the bed, kicking slowly out of a subconscious feeling of nervousness. Tsk tsk tsk... said a woman's voice inside Wendy's head. Speaking--what is it, Latori--in the face of underlying enemies, risky risky risky... What do you know about freedom of expression, Lenina? Wendy thought back. As my conscience, I give you my utmost respect, but I daresay you look and sound too similar to a goddess, so it's easy for me to confuse you with a divine presence. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: I think I presented a lot of information about Wendy that wasn't in her history... ah well, there's almost as much to say about her as there is about me. TheResplendent
Ben's room was on the very next floor up, he broke away from the group upon seeing his name and another's on the door. He paid little attention to the other name, but pulled Ally aside quietly before continuing to his door. "Meu querido, I hope your room is very accomodating for you. I shall see you again soon for dinner, if you would honor me at that time with your company. Perhaps we can talk more and get to know each other over a delicious meal, no?" Ben asked, very gently stroking the back of her hand up and down with his pointer and middle fingers. It sent a brief shiver up her spine as she looked back at him, a bit unsure of what to say back. "Thank you and yes, you shall see me for dinner. Along with the other guests as well." Ally replied in her french accent, subtly hinting a joking tone. It brought a smile and a brief laugh to Ben's face as he bowed his head and took his leave from her and the rest of the group. Ben picked his bags back up and walked into his room and made a right turn, where the arrow on the wall with his name on it pointed to. He sang to himself one of his favorite songs as he walked into his designated room. He stopped in his tracks and dropped his bags, along with his jaw once setting his eyes on what he saw. He surveyed the room back and forth more times then he could count. "Lata tu acreditar..." Ben muttered to himself as he stood in awe. The room he stood in spanned into an elaborate weight and training room, complete with every cardio and weight lifting machine he used in his work outs, a giant heavy bag in the middle accompanied by a speedbag. The coup de grace though was in the left corner...a regulation size ring for training, pads and equipment laid out on the ring mat. Not only that, but in the actual colors and brands he uses in his fights. A bit more forward he noticed a giant king sized bed, surrounded in exotically colored drapes and curtains, also alongside the windows. There were plants all around the room and a mini bar opposite the right side of his bed. The scenary and designs reminded him of his home country, Brazil. He walked further passed his slightly merged training room and bedroom toward two giant glass doors. Ben opened them both at the same time and pulled them out, as the light wind began to blow against him once again. He surveyed the area atop his newly found balcony, as the coastline and shimmering waters met his gaze with much satisfaction. A bit to the right of his stand point, there was another door that led back inside but into a different room. Not about to stop there he quickened his pace toward the door and opened it to see what was inside. "This jus keeps gettin better. I don't know who this Master guy is...but he sure knows how to make a guy feel at home." Ben said aloud as he stared at his large jacuzzi embedded into the ground, surrounded by mini waterfalls behind glass serving as the rooms wall decorations. He noticed the background music playing from the speakers located in the top corners, embedded in the walls. Full playlists of everything from soothing instrumentals, to music meant to pump someone up. Ben walked out the east door of the jacuzzi room which lead back into his main chamber. He threw himself on the bed and rested there with his hands behind his head. "This is going to be one hell of a vacation." Ben looked over at his pillow and acknowledged the envelope. He reached over and grabbed it, intending to rip it open right then and there and read it. He placed his finger underneathe the flap before stopping himself. "Hm, that's right. Perhaps I should save it for later. There's no way I'm giving all of this up for one botch." Ben said to himself, as he got up and walked over to the main doorway. There he noticed his roommate Kuro on the other side, probably about to check his side of the room out. "Hey buddy, you must me Kuro?" Ben asked, pushing his luggage over to the side from the spot he dropped them. "That's right, and you are Benjamin. Pleasure to meet you." his roommate replied. "Pleasure's all mine champ, best check out your room too. If this Master of the house guy knows everyone here as well as he knows me, you're gonna start loving your life once ya see it." Ben said, followed by a brief laugh. He turned around and began to change his clothing into something comfortable yet good enough to wear to dinner in about 1 hours time as well.
Kairi
"Mr. Kuro!" the sudden yell took both Ben and Kuro off guard as a behemoth of a man stood at the doorway of their bedroom. It was another black man wearing a white suit, obviously another servant. Kuro, standing a good foot and a half smaller than the servant, approached him slowly and looked up. "Yes sir...." his voice stuttered...surprinsgly for him being known as a tough young man back in his hometown. "Lord Lui'ci requests your presence back at the mainland." the servant stepped to the side and motioned for Kuro to follow him out immidiately. Kuro shot a concerned look at Benjamin who returned the same glance as Kuro turned away and held his head down load as he left the room. The servant immidiately followed behind Kuro, and Benjamin was left in bewilderment. *** The ferry ride for Kuro was a quite and lonely one, for he was the only one on the boat besides to captain. The night began to turn cold and bitter as the wind from the ocean began to blow towards the mainland. All he could think to himself was what this master could possibly want from him. His demeanor from eariler demanded respect, however it came only through that of fear. Fear which now spread throughout all of Kuros' veins...it felt like his spine was freezing from the inside. The lights all around the ferry began to flicker on and off as new chill spread across his body as cold air rushed into his lungs. Without warning Dante Lui'ci was sitting behind Kuro. Banging his cane against the back of Kuro's chair, the young man spun around and stared into Dante's blue eyes. The moon seemed to make his face glow as a slight grin came over his face. The old man...didn't quite look like an old man anymore...before Kuro's eyes, the master of games seemed to be getting...younger... "What....." Kuro stumbled...trying to muster up some courage. "What is it that you wanted..." Leaning close to Kuro who backed away from Dante in his seat...the lights began to die down, surrounding the inside of the boat with darkness. It was too sudden for Kuro to react...listen to the last words he'd ever hear... "We wanted you..." *** Everyone, please continue to interact with all your housemates. Also, everyone start get ready and head to dinner. Kuro (LoT) will not be posting in this rpg from this point on due to personal problems, so I've taken the liberty of him being my first "victim" which will become part of the many truths that you'll find out about Dante and the mansion. I will arrive to dinner once you all are there...and will initiate when you all are to open your cards. Please take note that Dante is now a young man...and not an old man anymore. I thought I had described him in my first post him being young, so I've corrected this :)
