Drum Hero?

While playin guitar hero I came across an idea in my head that was really cool. Instead of playing the guitar you could play the drums along with various songs. Being the guitar player is cool and all but really when it comes down to it they aren't the only people up on the stage. Drummers have the hardest job I think. True, you do have to learn alot of chords and notes but the drummer is constantly following whatever the guitarists are doing. And I dont want to hear about how guitarists are the best and drummers suck b/c that is totally bogus. Think about the millions people spent on Guitar Hero and just think about how it will be when both games come together and you can rock out in front of crowds and the TV. I'm just putting ideas out there for a new revolution in gaming. I would gladly spend money on a game like Drummer Hero.

Yeah but for all that equipment it would be pretty expensive.A guitar is much easier to use. You are better off taking actual drum lessons and using a real drum set than paying $200 for all of the pieces that could easily break. It sounds like a good idea on paper but in execution it really wouldn't work out.

I was chatting about this with friends the other day. We were saying how much fun it would be to have an entire band. You got Karaoke Revolution for the singers. DDR for the dancers. Guitar Hero for the guitarists. And only Donkey Konga for drummers.

If there was a way to make drumsticks in a Wii controller sort of way that you can "air drum" the parts that would be fun. It wouldn't require lots of parts, just sticks that somehow could tell what level/direction you are drumming and maybe a bass drum pedal.

In KR there is a mode that you can sing and use a DDR pad to dance at the same time. Why not make an entire band!

...No. Not. Nada. Drummer hero would probably not work out. For one thing I know. I drum, play bass, sing, and play guitar for a band.. (yeah we're definitely NOT doing concerts that's for sure.) But you do have a good heart, so I won't hate on you. lol

Drums...are essentially the most important part of a band...but...you can't have colour coded crap...and stuff...it's just not...right. How would you watch the screen and play these drums? You wouldn't be fast enough. Drumming comes...naturally, needs practice, and playing by ear or note.

Now I will say that a BAND etc. hero would work out, because I would love to sing many of these oldies and etc, along with playing the bass in career...and keyboards could work in there...but there's not alot of songs with keyboards in the GH stuff I've seen so far, but of course, we can fit some in there. But think of the cost. GHII was 80 dollars. (Axe and game).. How much would it be to get a mic, a guitar and a keyboard...even a drum set.

Drummer Hero...Would suck for alot of people. It's not just having two sticks. Real kit drumming involves more of your leg power than your arms, but you have to be very fast as well with your wrists, and hands.

Really the only solution is to get a real drumkit, learn how to roll, paradiddle, get off beat, become a real Tommy Lee or JJ.

OH AND PS to anybody reading this post. If you think it's impossible to mess up while playing drums, or it's the easiest, you are dead wrong.

drums
bass
rhythm
lead
keys/techno
vocals

Remember this line up. It is the importance chart of a band. This is how important a certain instrument is, and what follows it. First you have drums, then comes bass, and so on. Sometimes bass, guitar, keyboards, or vocals will be missing, but the drums is most of the time there, because it keeps tempo and etc.

Thank you folks, for putting up with my constant blabber lol

It's hardly a revolution. They already have drum simulation games. There's one at the local arcade, and it's a hell of a lot of fun. Well, at least it was until one of the pads broke off.

No! If they made a Drum Hero, how would I be able to own my friend at video games? I can't own him at Diablo II, I can't own him at Halo. The only game I can own him at is Guitar Hero. The last thing I need is for him to be challenging ME to a game of "Drum Hero" and owning me! I mean, don't get me wrong, the idea is pretty sweet, but considering the Guitar Hero game and controller costed me like $150 together, imagine how much a drum set would cost! Besides, if you want to play something with drums, go play Donkey Konga or something. If you only own a PS2, then go sit in a corner and pray that they come out with a "Drum Hero". This has been Raiku. Over and out.

DUDE, I was just about to say something about that!! My friend told me about it today, actually, and said he has plans on getting it, since he has a PS3.

I think it's totally awesome. But for now, I'll have to stick with Guitar Hero
