Dodeca
Maybe because he can't act. I've nothing against directors making cameos in their movies, so long as they don't go whole hog about it, Stan's appearance was very artificial in nature and unnecessary. "Seems one person can make a difference..." should have been followed by the line "so long as he's got freakin' super-powers."
Precisely.
It's just like when they had George Takai make a cameo. His license plate said NCC 1701, which is the nomenclature of the USS Enterprise.
At least George Takei can act. And even though all of his cameos are based around or bear some reference to Star-Trek, his cameos at least work. Heck, I want more of them. His appearance in that one episode of Malcolm in the Middle alone = classic. : D
Anakoni Stark

McGuire's scenes with the dance-walking and jazz club was sort of funny, but something just felt horribly wrong. In a good way, though. P: Every girl was, in the tiniest of ways, slightly turned on by how much better Peter looks with his hair down and how he can play the piano.

Yer, those scenes were pretty damn funny. there were some funny parts in the film, but most of them were forgettable. but what really sucked was when
Parker realised that he was doing the wrong thing, and took off the black suit, I mean when he caught the pumpking grenade and threw it back to Harry, that was pretty badass
the movie woulda been better if there was more venom in it. the crowd me and friends sat with treated certain scenes [
like when Harry kissed MJ
and some other scenes] like the movie were a soap opera, that was funny. $7.00 for [I think] 3 hours[?] was worth it.
Fasteriskhead
I'm going to have to fall in with the "disappointed" group. The movie just tried to do too much, especially in the last half or so. Too much reliance on random coincidences - I can accept
a meteor with the symbiote just happening to land near Peter
, but that plus
an escaped criminal who also happens to be Uncle Ben's real killer getting caught in a physics experiment gone wrong
plus
the butler who knows everything but only says so when the plot requires it
plus
Peter choosing exactly the right place to pull his costume off (despite the "vulnerable to sound" thing never being mentioned) and a guy who hates his guys happening to be right there below to give the goop a new home
plus
Spidey kindly taking the time to chat with Sandman while his pal is dying a few feet away
... well. In a superhero flick you're allowed a lot of leeway, but there's stretching the believable and then there's lazy screenwriting. And the
dance scenes and emo hair
were fine by themselves (being an increasingly aggressive geek does not mean you stop being a geek). The reason they don't really work, I think, is because the MJ/Peter relationship stuff never rings true at all, and that's the real source of the black suit developments. There are plenty of good scenes in the movie (the action sequences are especially nifty), but they're held together by a string of coincidences and a lot of emotional stuff that comes off as tone-deaf. After
Venom
shows up the movie just becomes overloaded. There's no time to show off the menace of the new bad guy, and the preparation for the final act is completely inadequate. The final battle itself, even if it's pretty to look at, doesn't hold the weight of the Spidey 2 climax or even some of the earlier fights in the movie (e.g. Black Spidey versus Sandman). By the end all you've been given is a lot of eye candy and very little holding it together.
The green goblin dies in the comic to give rise to the hobgoblin (Harry), so we all know he actually is dead.
That's actually incorrect, so far as I recall. In the comics Harry becomes the second Green Goblin; the Hobgoblin is a different villain altogether.[/nitpick]

Treble
Just saw Spiderman 3 last night and I enjoyed what I saw, but there were a few things that bothered me. Like most of you guys have said, I thought they were trying to fit in way too much material for one movie. I felt like they were spending way too much time on Peter and Mary Jane scenes when they could have cut some of their time to make better character development for Sandman and Venom. It seemed like there was not that much screen time for these villains to really shine. Other than these grievances, I had a good time watching this movie. The actions scenes throughout the movie were pretty fun to watch, even if the camera seemed a bit jumpy at times. The scene that I enjoyed the most was
how the ruthless symbiote Peter threw the pumpkin bomb back at Harry. I thought Harry was a goner for sure, but he ended up only have a scar on his face. Also, Harry?s smirky expression after he told Peter that he was the other guy that Mary Jane was seeing was priceless. And lastly, the team-up between Peter and Harry at end was pretty awesome, the way they communicated and worked with each other was fun to watch. Shinmaru
I saw Spider-Man 3 this afternoon, and I have to say
Emo Asshole Peter is pretty much worth the price of admission alone. It wasn't true to the comics at all, but whatever, entertainment is entertainment. I mean, come on, the dancing, the popped collar, the winking at and pointing to random women, the thrusting... AND HE SWISHED HIS HAIR. I swear to God I was rolling when I saw that. The only way it could've possibly been better is if he brushed his hand through his bangs and then they fell back into place. Then again, I probably would've died of laughter like the weasel gang from Who Framed Roger Rabbit had that happened, so it's probably a good thing my wishes went unfulfilled there. EDIT: I forgot about Peter making his landlord's daughter bake him cookies. Hahaha. So ****ing over the top and silly but so damn funny. "Go make me some nuts." Also really funny in that scene is when Dr. Connors talks about the symbiote being very aggressive, and then it cuts to the symbiote cell being a total bastard and beating the **** out of the other cells. Hilarious.
The rest of the movie was just fine... they tried to do too much, a bit too much action, the butler sucked, blah blah blah. Still entertaining enough, though. The Spectacular Professor
I saw this the week it came out and loved it, except
Venom's voice.
Does anyone else hate fanboys and girls as much as I do (Hypocrite One Piece FB, you say?) I mean
The Suit was reactive to sound. I don't care if YOUR comic scared it off with a yelling frankfurter. The suit was always reactive to sound. Stop whining that it was a bell tower instead of whatever YOUR comic said it was.
Also, am I missing Stupid Week or are the IMDB message boards filled with idiots?
"Eddie wasn't evil enough yet!" Did you miss the part where he crossed himself with holy water and prayed to GOD to kill Peter Parker? And then proceeds to get the living embodiment of hate, malice, and all that other fun stuff dumped on him? Because the only thing I find more disturbing than the whole "God, please kill Peter" thing is the fact that you don't find it disturbing at all.
I thought
Emo Peter
was actually pretty funny. It's refreshing to see a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and still delivers a powerful message or three, but to each his own.

My point remains that I genuinely have nothing against Stan Lee being in Spiderman or Hulk or anything, but that that scene just sucked because he can't act and I'm sorry if it rubs you the wrong way RW but it's still true.
