Website Dilemma

I'm sticking this into hardwired, because it deals with html, graphics and websites. I want to create a website for a personal reason, not buisness however I'm HTML illiterate. The host website has instructions and guides to putting things on, but not on how to make graphics. I wanted to put some great graphics up for my site, however, I realize one thing after 2 years on Paintshop Pro. I HATE making graphics, and I have no skill whatsoever. Most people would say screw it, and I even looked for someone who did services for personal websites. Their all strictly for buisnesses and corporations. Even if it seems ridiculous, do you know of any sights that sell good graphics at a resonable price?

I'd rather pay then make a graphic. I guess that seems pathetic, but I really decided that I'm done with making graphics and I have yet to try Photoshop but don't really have the time to learn 2x years worth of knowledge. If anyone from here could help me with this little Dilemma that would be soooo wonderful, because I only have about six major things that I need.

If not, I was wondering if anyone could give me advice or links on websites for HTML or even graphic making. If worse comes to worse, I'm going to have to make it all myself. But I'm a slow learner when it comes to computers, and it's going to be one big headache.

Oh and please, if you do put in some links to sites, make sure I can understand them. I do not even get Javascript, etc. CCS, when people try to explain it to me it's like trying to teach a dog to drink tea standing up. It's just not going to work like that. Yup, I'm a slowpoke. So advice?

Whew. Let me tell you something right now, lol. The only reason I ever learnt HTML was because I wanted to be able to edit my 'Blogger" account. Then I got addicted to the frustration of trying to make it work, and now I know XHTML, CSS and I'm working on PHP. It's ridiculous.

That said, be prepared for a lot of frustration if you want to learn. For some reason what you have is right but it just doesn't work. Don't worry and don't yell. Make a friend who knows a lot [Mine was Dead Seraphim -- He saved me from insanity many, many times] and don't pull your hair out. It looks prettier in, believe me. :p

http://w3schools.com/ is probably the most comprehensive HTML place I've come across, particularly as it is a regulator for XHTML, too. They have tutorials that guide you through and you can refer back to it constantly.

Also, it might look a little garish and seem like it's for kids, but Lissa Explains it All is a good, simple explanation of the most common stuff people want to do.

As for graphics -- why don't you see what the Art Request forum can whip up for you? I'd offer -- but I'm not fantastic and it'd depend on what you want. If you need help with coding, etc, (or hosting!) let me know. I'd love to know what the website is about and see how it's looking. ^_^

...no, most.
Now this is one that I won't let slide. You should know by now that Otakuboards emphasizes on quality and conversation. I've already been quite skeptical with the one liner posts, but two words. Definately a no. Try to expand your post a bit. (Even if it's a little hard.) ~Phenom~
"In general we encourage all members to post coherently ? it doesn?t really matter how big or small your posts are, as long as they are clear and relevant to the discussion." Looks like I cleared that hurdle, what was your issue again?

The issue here is that the post didn't add anything to the thread. Like, nothing whatesoever. All you did was reassert your previous point. - Desbreko
